I mentioned a while ago I’d be posting some cute art I commissioned of Ryuzo and Taka from Hot Boy Summer.
This is it! The commission drawn by the super awesome ForLoveOfNerd! Seriously, go check out ForLoveOfNerd’s twitter page.
The keywords were that Taka is soft and fluffy and Ryuzo is a cocky gym rat. I think this captures it perfectly <3

Just finished Ghost of Tsushima main storyline AND Iki Island DLC.
sighs
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT, OMG
One of the best games I’ve ever played tbh, it was beautiful, I fell in love with Jin Sakai and his character, like, he is genuinely a beautiful person and omg I felt pretty charmed by his resolve throughout the entire game—more men like Jin Sakai please. (yuna youre so lucky girl…)
I’m not much of a gamer myself, kind of I guess, I play when I have free time in my PS5 and when it comes to action games I’m a coward lol idk why whenever I am pushed into a battlefield I freak out (I almost had a heart attack when I started Ghost of Tsushima and the mothafuckers sent straight to fight at Komoda Beach, HELLO? The intro was so beautiful tho…). But Ghost of Tsushima balanced everything very well, and I enjoyed doing NPCs side missions, I felt powerful and badass.
(The way how the fear that the Ghost inflicts on his enemies is portrayed??? Chef’s kiss honestly. And the Records items, especially Conversations with the Khan, I enjoy the lore with so so so so much glee hehe.)
The characters, I fell in love with the characters. I knew I liked videogames when I first played Far Cry 4 and the characters felt so dear to me, and Ghost of Tsushima brought me back to when I was like 9?? and I was playing FC4 on my dad’s PS3. Jin’s story and the rest of the characters’ Tales hypnotized me, idk. The flashbacks, the foreshadowing, the small conservations within Jin and the others…I was sobbing in the ending and in Masako’s and Yuna’s tales. AND THE LOVELY WAY WE GOT SO MUCH APPROACHES TO IMPORTANT THEMES AS WOMEN EMPOWERING, FAMILY, QUEERNESS, TRADITIONALISM, ETC. jin baby you deserve the world.
Ngl, while I was playing the game not only I cherished every single interaction of Jin and his allies/friends, but I was glad he had the time to talk and rest, yk? And that’s why I love Yuna so much, gods.
From what I’ve seen, many ship Ryuzo and Jin, and while I kind of understand and respect Ryuzo, I don’t personally ship them. I was too excited to duel him the moment he was deemed a traitor lol, this game brought out the worst side of me (i was cackling when i got the ghost stance, run fuckers!). I did cry a lot on Iki Island whenever Jin had Ryuzo’s hallucinations, like, ouch, I would hurt forever if a childhood friendship ended like that.
(Talking about Iki Island, Kenji doing a cameo there LMAO, and Jin teasing him with “so you left Tsushima and you didn’t even bothered to say goodbye?” AJDKAKDKAKS YES YOU TELL HIM JIN)
Now, Jin and Yuna??? Muah muah muah, they are soulmates, romantic or platonically or both. Its the way Jin (throughout the story this loyalty builds up, love that) does everything no questions asked when it comes to Yuna, going with her to her tales? Damn Jin straight went and brought her heads! How romantic. The way Kenji was like “he cannot refuse if I tell him Yuna’s waiting”, AND THE WAY JIN HIMSELF OUTRIGHT SAYS THINGS LIKE ‘I would give my life for you’ OR ‘so you and Takeshi…?’ Hehehe they are so precious. They are definitely in love your honor, at least for me.
Wish I could still find the characters in the map or something after the main story ends, I’m at my new home behind Omi Monastery full of nostalgia because Jin’s home is a mosaic of gifts and remembrances of everyone he has known. Yuna’s gift, Ryuzo’s hat, Taka’s hook, Kenji’s sake, First Horse’s saddle (Nobu precious, I wish you had been there with me 😭) and lots of other stuff from Masako, Ishikawa, Lord Shimura, and many others that I don’t remember rn. Like, it is clear Jin loves his homeland, his people, his friends, I’m sure he would have made a perfect Lord, aw.
Thank you for reading my venting. Now, I need fanfics.

Unpopular opinion but i feel yuna from the ghost of tsushima game is useless.
And there is better female characters in the game that is more complex, better written, and isn't "gRrlBoss" bait.
I feel she could have been handled better. Tho ultimately I feel she legitimately after healing him and a certain point in the game's story, she's pointless. As other characters seem to be way more important. Again she's ok,but after a certain point she kinda overstayed her welcome in the game. And the 2nd half felt more about her than other characters that seemed way more important than her. At least they felt to me they have more impact on jin than her.
And she gets in the way of taka having character development. And honestly, she does hold him back. And honestly,i feel it's lowkey her fault for taka getting killed ultimately if he was an actual blacksmith,he would know how to use a damn sword. Im sorry,it feels plot convenient to make him kind of a wuss to "be saved by jin and yuna" and then killed off for drama.
I felt he was completely fucked over in the game and some of the "choices" by the characters don't really have the impact they should have.
I still love this game to death but i gotta be honest when i say. Yuna should have died instead of taka. Or at least be out of commission. She's clearly selfish.
And the problem isn't that as all the characters are uniquely flawed. But yuna is the only damn one not actually called out and whenever she is it's a "slap on the wrist and move on" like wtaf?! Like they just ignored the fact she's being a complete bitch. And then oh but she says "soweee" and all is forgiven?!
Yuna has so much damn character privilege in this game it's nauseating.
Jin at least gets consequences for his actions despite being the main character and still being protag so of course he's getting the most but even then he gets some backlash for doing bad things or things "not samurai"
So yeah
Yuna
It should have been you not your brother.
Sorry not sorry.

Directors cut on Hot Boy Summer? ❤️❤️
Oh! YES! So, this is probably my favorite Ghost of Tsushima fic I've written. This is the first (finished) novel length fic I wrote so I am so ridiculously proud of it. (RIP Autumn Heat Changing Seasons, I shall finish you one day)
But director's commentary. First of all this fic wouldn't exist without your theories about what modern music the characters would like and that "Thirsting over Ryuzo" post. You inspired me and that fic is dedicated to you.
Secondly, I love the argument in the car and the food-porn in this fic. Writing about those delicious meals was so good. I am ridiculously proud of the argument in the car and having Bilbo Baggins on Yuna's playlist. Taka is such a sneaky shit of a little brother <3
The pining though. Damn did I make Taka a thirsty boy XD
I think my favorite underrated scene is Ryuzo giving Taka the crab. It's the first time we see him being soft and caring. Up until now he's been very hard and pushy in his overtures, but this is the first time we see him be gentle. And I don't know if anyone's ever held a tiny crab, but the feeling of it's little legs skittering is magical because it's just so tiny. <3

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
(ErikxNadir)
Mazandaran Coffee (M) (One-shot) (7K)
Modern AU. Composer Erik is looking for inspiration and he thinks going outside will help him. He walks into the new coffee café around the corner, where he instead finds Nadir Khan.

Everybody gets a tiny clock on their wrist when they turn eighteen. It’s suppose to tell you when you will meet your Soulmate. Erik’s clock never ticked.
Where You Are (M) (One-shot) (20K)
His mother always told him to ignore the homeless, that they are not worth his time and dangerous. Nadir Khan never listened to his mother.
Dance of Paradise (M) (One-shot) (15K)
Nadir should know better than to leave the circus. Everybody had warned him, but curiosity took over. He went to the town – for once to feel like a normal citizen – but things only got uglier.
Control (E) (One-shot) (1K)
PWP. Nadir asked Erik to take control. Erik delivered.
Road to You (E) (Multi-Chaptered) (87K)

GHOST OF TSUSHIMA
(JinxYuna)
Kimi ni wa waratte hoshii kara (E) (Multi-chaptered) (60K)
Jin knew it was forbidden. Especially when she had no worth to her. She was a former slave, an orphan, and now his new maiden. But Jin yearned to be with her every second. But loving her came with harsh consequences.
Your Voice (T) (One-shot) (2K)
A bag of rice and millet was all it took for Jin to fall in love with a thief.
Muryoku (E) (Multi-chaptered) (94K)
Yuna helps the Rebellion with their fight against Shimura’s rule, even managing to get into the Castle Shimura’s grounds, only to find out that the Jito is keeping a long-kept secret in his chambers when it is too late.
Seiryoku (E) (Multi-chaptered) (On-going)
Four years have passed since Jin disappeared, and there’s a new threat on the horizon with the Mongols approaching Tsushima. Lord Shimura will die for his people, only to underestimate the Khan and his plans for him. During the invasion, Taka gets captured by the Mongols, and Yuna searches for him with Ryuzo by her side, only to come across the Eagle and her poison.
JinxYunaxRyuzo
Blue Hydrangea (E) (Multi-chaptered) (Unfinished) (31K)
Recovered from a toxic relationship, Yuna was ready to find new love. She wasn’t sure if she would find it in a bondage club, but it was worth trying. Never did she expect she would fall for the most dangerous assassin of Tokyo. Nor did she expect him to be so submissive.

Finally finished Ghost of Tsushima last night and I was not prepared. I was drowning in tears at the end of the story.
WTF?! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A CHILL GAME WHERE I GOT TO RUN AROUND ADVENTURING AS A SAMURAI TO SAVE MY UNCLE AND THEN LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!
Tumblr media
Spoilers:
I really wasn't ready for how hard this game hit me at multiple points.(Ryuzo, Yuna, Lady Masako, and Taka ugh their stories were painful) But the ending brought me to actual tears.
While he saved their island, Jin sacrificed everything to do so. Seeing him lose basically everything due to becoming "the Ghost", and the fact that he will be hunted by the shogun for the rest of his life because of his actions ughhhhhh I felt awful.
When I thought it couldn't get any worse, lord Shimura had to be the final boss🙃 I literally screamed "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" at my screen. When he was telling Jin through his tears that the shogun ordered him to execute him I started to cry too😭 ( idk just seeing a character like lord Shimura that is normally so stoic and composed cry, really got to me) The dream of Jin not only being recognized as his heir, but his son as well is impossible now, and they both know it.
I went for the spare option after the fight because I really didn't want to make Jin kill his only living family member. (like damn my boy has lost enough already, no way I was going to make that my canon ending). But I got really curious about what the ending would be like if you chose to honor his uncle's wish, and kill him. So I re-loaded my save because apparently I like to emotionally destroy myself🥲And boy, if I wasn't really crying then, I most certainly was now.
Lord Shimura calling Jin "son", and asking Jin to find him in the next life. Jin's cries and wails as he hugs his body after killing him, and then cutting to the credits after that. Yeah I'm never picking that option again (;_;) THE END CREDITS SOUNDTRACK DID NOT HELP BTW! ughhh yapping over now.
10/10 game that has made Jin Sakai one of my favorite video game protagonists of all time, but I'm never going to emotionally recover from this.

For the send a fandom: Tsushima.
Left field. Bitch.
Mofo making me add yet another game onto this blog, spoiler alert I loved ghost of tsushima and think everyone should play it. ps. spoilers ahead cause I cant for the life of me figure out how to hide text till you click it.
The first character I fell in love with: tbh Yuna, her blatant disregard for the rules and expectations in favor of doing good is great, even if that good is selfish from time to time. Her growth throughout the story just reaffirms this even more too.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: That'll have to go to Masako, her introduction led me to believe that her as a character would be nothing more than a cheap revenge ploy, and while her questline kinda leaned into that hard her as a character grew on me. The duel with her had me literally yelling that I better not have to kill her.
The character everyone else loves that I dont: Shoot me, but Ryuzo. As a character hes as good as every other major character but thats why I dont like him, his betrayal hits hard especially after listening to the banter between him and Jin about their childhoods. As they spoke about parting ways after their initial duel I seriously hoped they could reconnect over the course of saving their home.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I dont know if hes necessarily a hated character but Ive heard several people say they really didnt like Norio. A lot of people say his quest is two dimensional and bland but looking past that Norio feels like the only character that really understands Jin's struggle with what needs to be done and his expectations as a samurai. Through the second and third act he feels like a reassurance at Jin's back, that his decision is a difficult one but one that needs to be made.
The character I used to love but dont any longer: Ishikawa, Initially I thought he would be the basis for a growing understanding that what Jin and Yuna did was necessary, especially with what he did with Tomoe. But he remained just as stubborn and while I can understand why it doesn't mean I have to like it. Hes a good character but not my cup of tea.
The character I would totally smooch: Probably no one in the way you would expect, but Yuriko needed a kiss on the forehead and praise for doing such a good job even in her old age and told not to worry about Jin. At least she was one of the few that got to pass peacefully.
The character I'd want to be like: Taka hands down, he tries so hard to be something hes not, and when he found a way he could help he put his heart into it. Then even in the face of the Khan he put on a brave face and knowing full well he stood no chance tried to do what he thought was right. In many ways hes a reflection of Jin yet not so gifted that he can fight for his home, yet he still raised a sword when it mattered the most. His death by far killed me the most.
The character I'd slap: Lord Shimura, this man infuriates me so much yet I cant hate him because of how sad he is. The ending killed me, seeing his pain in having to face Jin, losing the person he considered his Son, and even more so after sparing him. He could've helped change everything and even if he disowned Jin officially he could've still let him go after everything that happened. But now he continued to be shackled by his idealology of honor and it forced him to push away his son all the more. I get its not easy to change what someone is raised to believe in whole heartedly but you would expect the loss of the last of your family to help with that, but no.
A pairing that I love: Jin and Tomoe, I feel like they are two very different edges of the same coin. Jin choosing a path that leads to a great many regrets that become overshadowed by the good that followed, and Tomoe falling down a selfish path filled with many more regrets and struggling to correct it. Is this generic? maybe, is it cliché enough that I like it still? of course. What do you want from me cliché is my middle name. Also yes Im aware she hardly had any screen time and her and Jin hardly interacted, I like thinking about unlikely things, its called headcannon for a reason.
A pairing that I despise: I dont despise it but I dont really like it either, Jin and Yuna feels kinda wrong. The two of them went through so much together and it feels like one of those dynamics thats very rooted in a deep friendship and nothing more. Plus after spending so much time together in so many stressful scenarios changing how they see each other would be a monumental challenge, especially after Yuna lost Taka and would most likely be hesitant about getting close to someone else. Losing a family member often causes people to push away the thought of relationships for awhile.
