What are some of your current fav actors n actresses? Would love to hear your thoughts on some of your favs actors or actors you think are Underrated?
ok!
Firstly Tom Hardy has been one of my all time faves since about 2005. (Stuart: A Life Backwards is still his greatest performance, but anywho)
A rambling list of actors who I think are amazingly talented, mostly for their screen work:
Emily Blunt, Melissa McBride, Jessica Chastain, John David Washington, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Matthew Macfadyen, Andrew Scott, Jon Bernthal, Anne-Marie Duff, Dev Patel, Deborah Ann Woll, Colin Farrell, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Gwendoline Christie, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Viola Davis, Travis Fimmel, Heath Ledger, Daniel Kaluuya, Benicio Del Toro, Zhang Ziyi, Terry O’Quinn, Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Andrew Lincoln, Michelle Williams, Ryan Gosling, Toby Stephens
I will ofc also shoutout Christina Hendricks and Manny Montana. There was some good shitttttt in GG and I'm right. They are both such good listeners. (but I'll ramble about that in a separate ask I have)
And many many more I'm forgetting right now!
Actors from that list I would say are underrated? Melissa McBride 100%. I wish she would be in more projects and that cursed zombie show did not deserve her. She was the reason I stuck around so long. GOD SHE'S AMAZING!
Probably also Terry O'Quinn, his work in LOST is stunning.
In terms of stage work, I've seen Andrew Scott in theatre 5 times, sometimes front row in very small venues where he sat on me and one of the reasons he is SO skilled to me is how his stage work still absolutely sings. He is the best live performance I've ever watched and he just gives so much to the audience, something he clearly does on screen, he's a live-wire isn't he? But he's just - - so unselfish with his performances.
Anne-Marie Duff is similar. (also SO underrated but she mostly does theatre now so less media exposure I guess)
She did my favourite performance of Queen Elizabeth I in The Virgin Queen, a 4 part series on the BBC over here (opposite Tom Hardy as Robert Dudley) She is so talented. So heartfelt and raw. She was the same in the theatre show I saw her in.
All of the actors I have listed here are incredible listeners. There is nothing more cringe than an insular actor who refuses to be changed by their scene partner. I also personally gravitate towards actors who are very in touch with their body in space/have a certain physical free-ness.
#asks#Welcome to my TAY talk#sorry i took ages to reply#cant tell you how my eye twitches when people say they are tom hardys biggest fans and they've only seen Inception#or not one project from before inception#if you haven't seen Stuart ALB you dont know what you're talking about tbqh#or his Heathcliff#he is#unreal#opposite his wife! and andrew lincoln as Edgar!#go watchhhhh

Which character would you like to see come back in upcoming episodes? I would love to see Liz teaming up with Scottie, Dr Fulton or Alexander Kirk! They have resources, money and disliked Red! That would spices things up!
Anon, I admit if I never see Scottie Hargrave again, I will be a happy lady. I felt her entire presence on the show was contrived for Tom and the spinoff and while her Blacklist episode was okay, the more I saw of Famke/Scottie on the spinoff the more I couldn’t stand her. I felt like Terry O’Quinn, Ryan and Edi ran circles around her on that show.
Kirk I am pretty indifferent. I don’t understand the hype around his character because I feel like whatever Red whispered to him can be revealed without him coming back.
I would enjoy seeing Dr. Fulton again because I liked the idea of Liz assembling her own team and it seemed like they were heading that way with her character.
But if I had to pick among active/incarcerated Blacklisters - which seem to be on Liz’s radar - (in no particular order):
-Karakurt (his Russian connections make him interesting)
-the Harem (well, at least Jill Hennessy’s character - can’t go wrong with lady thieves)
-Vanessa Cruz
-the shadowy Osterman Umbrella Company who took out Samar (and supposedly hunted Katarina) because they are high stakes

Since I know you love Tom and Keen2 so much I thought it'd be interesting to hear about some of the other people you love about The Blacklist, if you please! :) So, for the TV show asks: 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 Thanks!
Oh fun! Thanks, anon
2 NOTP
As a daddygater (meaning that I see Liz and Red with a familial relationship, even if not necessarily a biological connection), I do not ship them in the slightest. I totally understand that those that do don’t see them in that light, though, so not trying to knock anyone’s ship!
6 Favorite actress
Oooh. Love it. Obviously I’m a big fan of Megan Boone’s portrayal of Liz.
I think Margarita Levieva as Gina, Famke Janssen as Scottie Hargrave, and Tawney Cypress as Nez Rowan all get mentions too, because it’s easy to choose directly from the main cast and I love all three of their portrayals.
Oh, and Lotte as Katarina. She’s been spectacular.
7 Favorite actor
Ryan, hands down. I actually came into the Blacklist following him over from Sons of Liberty and heaven knows Tom Keen is my favourite by a long shot. Amir and Diego are off the charts too, and heaven knows James is a talented man. Out of the main cast, Terry O’Quinn as Howard Hargrave and Edi Gathegi as Mr Solomon. I loved to hate him and hated to love him lol. Would love to see him back.
8 Most underrated actor
I don’t know? I will always feel like Ryan got the short end of it with the fact that Tom’s story was broken wide open and then they just left dangling threads, but a large part of me still hopes they’ll prove that feeling wrong. I don’t know necessarily if he would have been an underrated actor, though....
9 Most underrated character
That’s hard to say in fandom because we’re all so deep in, so I guess I can go with who I’d like to see more screen time for and backstory on? That’d be Ress. I mean, Tom will always be my favourite, but I would love to know more about Ress.
Let’s do something fun

This woman is going places
Loder doing what she does best, performing. Submitted image.
CNA music student graduate Kellie Loder is on her way to stardom and is one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s best upcoming songwriters.
Kellie Loder is lyrically motivated and writes memorable songs which are caring, kind, and considerate. Loder’s Folk/Pop style is turning heads.
Loder has been living in St. John’s for the last four years but grew up in a small town in Central Newfoundland and Labrador called Badger. Loder started studying Music at College of the North Atlantic in September 2015.
“Kellie is a bright light. Incredibly talented, very kind, and warm-hearted person.” Cody O’Quinn said, “She brings an energy to the stage that lets you know she belongs there.” O’Quinn is a colleague in Loder’s graduating class.
She first began performing playing drums at the age ten in her local church. But this was not when she discovered the love of rhythm and music.
“When I was two years old I would bring pencils to church and watch the drummer while banging on top of the pew.” Loder said, “Therefore I developed my rhythm very early in life.”
When Loder was 14 years-old her brother was taking guitar lessons. He would come home and teach her everything he learned that day at his lesson. She would eventually start becoming more of a guitar player than him because he lost interest and Kellie kept going.
“I felt like music was more in my blood.” Loder said.
The music Loder writes is inspired by real people, real stories which involve daily life struggles.
“I like to write music about compassion, triumph, love.” Loder said, “Stories that give you the goosebumps.”
Loder has many musical influences in her life. She listens to a lot of Coldplay, John Mayer, and Amelia Curran a local artist from St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador.
“Anybody who is a singer-songwriter who writes about what people want to be able to say but don’t know how.” Loder said.
Loder is building a fan base which no one can ignore. Radio stations across the country are broadcasting her songs every day.
“It was pretty exciting and I remember the first time my music got played locally.” Loder said, “It was on CBC radio. My family and I were all waiting around the radio like it was the 1960s. It was surreal, and now it is just a normal thing.”
Kellie traveled to Nashville Tennessee in 2013 to play a showcase, and she spontaneously traveled to the music capital by herself for a week. While she was there one of the judges really liked Kellie’s style and asked her to stay longer.
“He was a Grammy-nominated producer, and songwriter named Roger Ryan.” Loder said, “I stayed and recorded a song with him. I just wanted to build my network up and that’s when I discovered that I could probably do this for a living.”
This was the defining moment in Kellie’s career, more so personally than professionally. As time progressed Loder started to write different music. The event which really progressed Loder’s career was the 2015 Bell Media Songwriting Challenge. While at this challenge she met Justin Grey while attending this songwriting camp. Grey is Canadian born, Los Angeles based songwriter and record producer.
“I left this camp and realized, hey I can be a songwriter.” Loder said humbly.
It was during this weekend that Loder met Sandy Pandya. Pandya owns Pandyamonium Management which is a small shop with some immense talent. She manages such names as Serena Ryder, and Tegan & Sara.
“Eventually the relationship I built with her that weekend would pay off. A couple months ago I signed a publishing deal with her.” Loder said.
Loder now has someone representing her songs. Which could lead to her songs making it to TV and film. She now has a talented team behind her instead of trying to make it in the music world alone.
“I now have people on my team, before I was kind of like a loner trying to do it all by myself.” Loder giggled, “If anyone wants to do this as a career they definitely need a team behind them, I learned that.”
Kellie is releasing a new record in the fall which is the big news. There is no name on the album yet but the photos and artwork are all done. She has been working on this project for the last year and a half. Loder has also opened for various noteworthy acts such as; Shannygannock, The Ennis Sisters, Matt Mays, and Alan Doyle just to name a few.
She just recently released a new single “Boxes” February 3rd, 2017 and the song is available on iTunes for download. Kixx Country 103.9 FM. plays the song daily in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Loder’s inspiration for this song came to her while she was moving into a new place. Her brother was helping Kellie lift many boxes at the time. Loder’s brother took a break with his guitar and started to play a melody. As Kellie was hanging up some clothes in the closet she sang “Packing up my life in boxes,” and it turned into something beautiful. By the time the first verse was over Loder had stopped unpacking and sat down with a maroon crayon and old journal to write what she had just sung.
“It was the only writing utensil in the entire house.” Loder giggled, “It was so organic how it happened.”
This writing session was extremely special to Kellie because it was with her brother. The very person who taught her to play guitar when she was just a child.
Kellie has beautiful writing which touches the soul and is one of the best upcoming songwriters in Newfoundland and Labrador. Songs such as “What If I Believed,” captivates audiences as her storytelling ability shines throughout her music.
“I’m just doing me, and hoping people like it.” Loder said modestly.
Notable accomplishments.

New interview with Ryan regarding the spinoff and Tom’s reasons for leaving. Sounds like what Tom learns from Howard is the catalyst.
Tom has already turned down Scottie’s offer of a job. Why has he decided to work with her now? It really has to do with a new character that we’re introducing that they—I’m not supposed to reveal the nature of the character or who he is—but, I think I can say that it’s Terry O’Quinn’s character, and he basically presents my character with new information that changes everything for him.

OTHER NOTES:
“We have two massive hamsters running in a giant wheel in our secret underground lair.”
Ben Linus is a manipulative genius and I LOVE it. The dance he and John are doing throughout this episode is exquisitely pitched; Locke feels utterly certain that he is in control, that he knows what he’s doing, that Ben, wheelchair bound, his daughter at gunpoint, could not possibly be maneuvering this situation toward his own designs. Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn have fantastic chemistry together, and their conversations have a wonderful blend of human emotion and lofty idealistic weight. What a lovely piece of craftsmanship this is. I consider it a highlight.

John Travolta's Top 5 Roles From Danny Zuko To Robert Shapiro
Whether it’s comedy, drama, singing or dancing, actor John Travolta has proven time and again he’s a jack of all trades when it comes to the entertainment business.
See Full Article here: Robert Shapiro
Since getting his big break in the role of Vinnie Barbarino in “Welcome Back, Kotter,” Travolta has not only been a household name but continues to prove he’s got more tricks up his sleeve with each passing year. Whether it’s critically acclaimed roles in TV or film, there’s no telling where the actor will pop up next.
On Feb. 18, Travolta turns 66 and shows no signs of stopping his illustrious career. As the star enters another year of his life, now is the perfect time to take a look back at some of the roles that made him one of the most famous names in Hollywood:
“Saturday Night Fever” (1977)

After spending a couple of years on “Welcome Back, Kotter” Travolta was sitting comfortably as a TV heartthrob with countless fans. He went into the production of “Saturday Night Fever” with a lot of wind at his back. While that may sound good, Mental Floss notes that it actually harmed production on the film. When production began in Brooklyn, it didn’t take long for fans to hear that Travolta would be in their neighborhood.
Co-star Donna Pescow previously said: "The fans—oh, my God, they were all over him. It was scary to watch."
Fortunately, the producers managed to wrangle the crowd and the actor was able to give an Oscar-worthy performance. In what was his first major film role since being cast as Barbarino, Travolta shot from everyday TV heartthrob to Academy Award nominee. Although he didn’t win in his category, the role propelled his career to new, previously unfathomable heights.
It even sparked a sequel in 1983, “Staying Alive” where he reprised his role as Tony Manero.
“Grease” (1978)

“Saturday Night Fever” showed the world that Travolta can dance, but “Grease” showed that he can also sing. He agreed to star as Danny Zuko in the 1978 adaptation of the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.
Set in the 1950s, "Grease" follows a group of high schoolers as they navigate love and class through song, dance and some pretty awesome hot rods. The film continues to grow legions of fans with every new generation, despite being marked by its decidedly dated time period. Speaking at an event for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2018, the actor posed his theory on the enduring interest in “Grease.”
“The two writers, the original writers of ‘Grease,’ were obsessed with their teenagehood in the 50s. They did a microcosm of every great aspect of the 50s. The best of James Dean, the best of Brando, the best of Elvis, they did this microcosm and put it in one communication,” he explained. “So it could be that it triggers our favorite moments of a decade all in one movie instead of separate movies… Just an idea.”
“Pulp Fiction” (1994)
John Travolta earned his second Academy Award nomination for 'Pulp Fiction.' (Miramax)
Although he worked consistently throughout the 1980s, a series of commercially successful but critically maligned films made it seem like Travolta’s career was as dead as the disco craze he’d helped start. Fortunately, he managed to secure a role in Quentin Tarantino’s smash hit “Pulp Fiction” as the drug-addicted hitman, Vincent Vega. The role would ultimately lead Travolta to his second Oscar nomination and a complete revitalization of his acting career.
However, according to a Vanity Fair article from 2013, one tried desperately to ensure he wasn’t cast in the film, now-disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
At the time, Weinstein was given a terms sheet that he agreed to for the film, with the exception of casting Travolta in the lead role.
“And it came back: ‘The entire list is approved … except for John Travolta.’ So I got together with Harvey, and he’s like, ‘I can get Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Penn, William Hurt,’” Tarantino told the outlet.
It wasn’t until longtime Tarantino collaborator Mike Simpson put his foot down and literally threatened to walk away from Weinstein’s funding in 15 seconds that the movie tycoon was forced to relent. When the movie became a smashing success thanks in large part to Travolta, Weinstein is said to have jokingly taken credit for the decision to cast him.
“Hairspray” (2007)
John Travolta had a big say in how his character in 'Hairspray' looked. (New Line Cinema)
By 2007, Travolta had seemingly done everything there was to do in Hollywood. With a myriad of both successful and not-so-successful roles under his belt, the actor agreed to take on the gender-bending role of Edna Turnblad in the film version of “Hairspray.”
The movie tells the story of a young overweight girl in 1962 named Tracy who gets a shot on her favorite local TV show, “The Corny Collins Show.” Because of her weight, she struggles to be taken seriously, giving her a bond with her African-American co-stars, who are fighting against segregation. Tracy’s journey inspires her mother, Edna, to feel comfortable in her own body as well. The famous play originally had Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein in the role of Edna, playing it more like an over-the-top caricature. But Travolta opted to play her a different way.
According to a New York Times article written prior to the movie’s release, Travolta had countless costumers, special makeup artists and even prop masters to craft a suit and look that would make Edna feel more grounded in reality, while still upholding the tradition of having a man play her.
“American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson” (2016)
John Travolta returned to TV in a more dramatic role, playing Robert Shapiro in 'American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.' (FX)
After immense success in the film world, Travolta decided to return to the place where he got his big break — television.
However, unlike “Welcome Back, Kotter,” his take on real-life defense attorney for O.J. Simpson Robert Shapiro had precious few laughs. Shapiro was one of the members of the famed football player’s legal team in his 1994 criminal trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman.
“American Horror Story” helmer Ryan Murphy dramatized the story for TV and Travolta donned heavy makeup in an effort to look the part. After two Oscar nominations, the role gave the actor his first Emmy nod. Although he lost in the supporting actor category, the show at large took home the Emmy for outstanding limited series that year.
Former Woodbridge CEO Shapiro Pleads Guilty, Faces Up To 25 Years In Prison
Robert Shapiro, a former Roaring Fork Valley resident and former CEO and president of the Woodbridge Group of Companies LLC, faces as many as 25 years in prison after pleading guilty last week to running a $1.3 billion Ponzi scheme that claimed more than 7,000 victims.
Shapiro, 61, of Sherman Oaks, California, entered his plea Wednesday in South Florida federal court. His sentencing hearing is scheduled Oct. 15 before U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga.
Shapiro pleaded guilty to orchestrating and leading a massive investment fraud scheme; he also pleaded guilty to tax evasion for his failure to pay more than $6 million in taxes due and owing to the IRS for calendar years 2000 through 2005.
According to the indictment and court documents, Shapiro spearheaded and concealed the Ponzi scheme through his business, Woodbridge. Woodbridge employed approximately 130 people and had offices located throughout the United States, including in Carbondale; Boca Raton, Florida; Sherman Oaks, California; Tennessee; and Connecticut. The scheme ran from at least July 2012 to December 2017, when Woodbridge declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy and defaulted on its obligations to investors.
The pitch to investors was that Woodbridge held real estate loans that would pay them rates of interest between 5% and 10%.
In fact, the real estate also was owned by Shapiro through 270 shell companies and did not generate the necessary money for investors. Sometimes, the properties didn’t even exist.
It became a Ponzi scheme that paid older investors with money from newer ones, court records show. Five states entered cease-and-desist orders because Woodbridge was selling unregistered securities.
As part of the plea agreement, Shapiro and his wife, Jeri, agreed to forfeit assets including paintings by Picasso (“Face With Circles, Picador and Fish Subject”), Renoir (“Portrait de Rosita Mauri”), Chagall (“Le Clown Flutiste Au Coq”) and others. They also will hand over to the government numerous pieces of jewelry, including a pair of 14-karat, white gold earrings with two black diamonds, two gray diamonds, two rose-cut diamonds and 266 round diamonds as well as a platinum ring with an emerald and a variety of diamonds.
“Mr. Shapiro has taken personal responsibility for the failure of Woodbridge. His guilty plea follows his decision to voluntarily place hundreds of millions of dollars of assets under bankruptcy court supervision and the consensual resolution of the SEC enforcement investigation,” his lawyer, Ryan O’Quinn, said in a statement. “Mr. Shapiro hopes that these decisions allow the estate to focus on maximizing the value of the real estate portfolio for the benefit of Woodbridge’s creditors.”
Shapiro once lived at Aspen Glen in the lower Roaring Fork Valley. Woodbridge developed high-end properties the in upper and lower Roaring Fork Valley, as well as other parts of Colorado and California.
A number of Woodbridge homes in the Roaring Fork Valley have been or are being sold as part of Woodbridge’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Woodbridge closed its Aspen Glen office in Carbondale in November 2017.
