Wait ya'll actually want my silly Runningwind protagonist??? I'll give you the bullet points
Runningpaw is still Bluestar's apprentice when she's Bluefur. She becomes Bluestar mid-way through his apprenticeship, and he gets a big ego about it
Mousepaw goes to Adderfang. When Adderfang dies, she's given to Patchpelt.
Runningpaw is excitable and a "act before you think" kind of character. Bluefur frequently scolds him for running off or having to haul him up by the scruff after he fell off a rock looking at that cool bird
He's closer to Sparrowpelt (Halftail) then White-eye (One-eye) but maintains a good relationship with both
He looks up to and respects Tigerclaw immensely.
He's close with the older Redpaw (Redtail, shifting the timeline a little) and it helps that his father is his mentor. Mousepaw is close with the gentler Brindlepaw (Brindleface). Frostpaw (Frostfur) is the oldest (by 10 seconds over Brindlepaw, so she claims) and is stuck up and rude. Mousepaw and her don't get along. Willowpaw (Willowpelt) is....there. Towards the end Darkpaw (Darkstripe) is apprenticed to Tigerclaw, but doesn't want to interact with the other apprentices at all.
Mousepaw is a social shut in and Runningpaw thinks she's weird but never stops trying to get her to open up.
He's generally friendly to outsiders and other clan cats, but he's easily influenced by who's with him. He's a bit of an idiot but we love him for it
His Warrior ceremony is delayed and Mousefur will never let him live it down
He's honored for his tireless energy and commitment to his clan
Redtail x Runningwind would start somewhere around here. They had been strictly friends before this but begin to see each other in a different light.
Runningwind is horrified to learn about Thistleclaw through Redtail, when Spottedleaf confesses everything to both Redtail and Willowpelt. Redtail spends alot of time plotting revenge, to the point that they almost break up over it, as its taken over his entire life. Before Redtail can act, Thistleclaw is killed during a RiverClan skirmish.
Redtail and Runningwind make amends. They talk about starting a family (Redtail is trans here. He was trans since he was apprenticed.)
They try. They have Featherkit and Cricketkit. Featherkit dies during the starvation era.
Due to the starvation killing a good chunk of the clan, Bluestar decides to make Redtail deputy, after losing Thrushpelt (ya he's deputy, it's my AU and I can do what I want)
Cricketkit gets his Warrior name, Cricketpounce.
The clan needs more Warriors. Their population hasn't gone back up since the starvation. Redtail and Runningwind decide to have another litter, resulting in Sandkit (Sandstorm)
Cricketpounce is just like Runningwind personality-wise. Redtail says "Bluestar I can either be your deputy or control my family. I can't do both."
Cricketpounce and Sandkit cause trouble and mayhem all the time.
Here's where I change things: Tigerclaw doesn't try to kill Redtail at the battle. There's too many cats around to witness. Instead, he tries setting all those traps that result in other deaths/injuries (ex. Cinderpelt)
Cricketpounce catches him setting prey for the dogs. Tigerclaw tries to kill him, a nearby patrol hears the scuffle and comes to try and save him, but Tigerclaw kills him in front of them. They hold a trial and Tigerclaw is exiled.
He still gets killed by Tigerclaw. That would be at the end of the 6th book instead of Rising Storm. Runningwind attempts to get revenge for his son. Tigerclaw taunts him before killing him.
Redtail becomes Redstar with Whitestorm as deputy.

Warrior Cats moment
I decided that screw it I am posting Warriors on main now and the other blog is just the archive for it.
Tumblr media
I am gonna try to make it a whole rewrite au thing buuut we'll see how it goes! Currently calling it the CappuccinoRewrite but we'll see.
Design notes:
-Going with my own naming system which changes a few things, sparknotes is that apprentices get any suffix related to body parts or patterns (-fur, -tail, -throat, -dapple for example), so warriors cannot get them; no cats named after colors because colors and feelings/personalities are basically the same words in their language; honorifics are adverbs or adjectives like Running or Bright added at the start of a name, therefore those cannot be names; leaders get a new name upon receiving their nine lives, those names can break most of these rules because leaders are legendary.
-Fireheart my boy, I used to draw him with a full head of curls but the design felt too complex on the face so now it's just a couple tufts on the top. His cheek fluff, fluffy nose and floppy ears are going to be Firekin deadringers, everyone gets at least one. Other than that I like to make him striped and with a lighter belly to truly sell the fire look.
-Cricketpurr (Graystripe), who I love giving a stupid mustache to and then offloading it to all his children too. His nose is red because the figurine makes it red, and I like giving him a couple more stripes.
-Ravenscruff (Ravenpaw) who does not get an adult name because he dipped before that, and Dusthill (Dustpelt) (still thinking of changing it to something else... Dustmound maybe?) look alike because they're brothers. The white patches are the same, they also got a white tail tip, and the two pointed "mask" on Ravenscruff has the same shape as Dusthill's sickass eyebrows.
-Sandstorm my girlie, first time trying to give her the eyemask marking since designing her dad Stoatrun (Runningwind) and I think she looks nice, even if I might tweak the colors later.
-Bluestar! Her old name was Hailmoon. I like how the mane makes her look a bit like a wolf. Other than that I think her eyes look pretty.
-Blighted Aspenleaf (Spottedleaf) gave me trouble from start to finish BUT I think she looks pretty nice, her silly hair especially. I also love the little heart marking on her ear.
-Tigerslash (Tigerclaw) has braided stripes, which are like if leopard spots became stripes, with the center of a different color. Other than that though I might change their shape, especially the one on top of his head.
-Bogsnarl (Yellowfang) is extra fluffy and extra scruffy. Her pupils have a redder contour which I also wanna give to her son. Other than that it's a pretty standard design lol.
Hope yall like them and sorry for the hard pivot from one blog to another.

I (re)read Warriors: Fire and Ice
Tumblr media
The little cover box thing made me so scared as a kid. It's still super terrifying now.
tl;dr intro: read books as a kid, feel like rereading, did a post for Into the Wild so read that if you wanna.
Anyways, Hi I'm Ari
Going into Fire and Ice I remembered two main things: Graystripe being a disloyal lil' bastard and Cinderpaw...
poor Cinderpaw
Now those two things still stuck out to me and I will definitely spend some time on them and actually probably spend the most time on them (who knows I haven't written this yet) but I was also invested in how Tigerclaw was handled, Windclan's whole arc, and, least importantly of all, Runningwind (my goat). That's like 4 big things to cover and also Runningwind so oh boy I'm just going to get going
1. Windclan is introduced for the first time
If the first book flopped hard Windclan would literally just have never showed up. Just process that world for a second.
So the book opens with a little prologue from the perspective of Windclan to kind of depict the struggles of the clan. Through Thunderclan we really only know about their suffering conceptually through the fact that they were booted from their territory but the perspective lets the reader understand their fears which is nice.
Anyways that's some High School English I type analysis so let's dive a little deeper.
Windclan's suffering indirectly serves to show the comfort the cats find in their clan lives. They are held comfortable by the systems that exist and the separation shows the fact that the social structure is the only thing keeping the clans stable. They don't know how to live "in the wild" they actually have just made their own societies. The discomfort introduced to that society is why Warriors is interesting. Even just in the first two books the challenges to ideals of the clans (Fireheart joining, Graystripe's "forbidden love" which totally won't be repeated 37 times as a plot line, etc...) is what brings nuance to the ideas the books presents. The Warriors series works best as a exploration of life within a closely held social system. When Windclan is separated from their ability to feel that structure they crumble to being unable to properly care for themselves. The reason they survive is only because of their ability to hold onto things like Tallstar's leadership.
The prologue kinda slaps, what can I say.
So Fireheart then is sent to save them. Narratively alone, obviously the reader should see the big action of bringing 25% of the cats back and Fireheart, as Mr. Protagonist Cat should probably be involved. But building on what I said earlier, why Fireheart?
To me, Fireheart is kind of treated like a light. The obvious connection is fire=bright=light. He's a way forward. He'll "save our clan" (and the others too but that's whatever). I think part of why this is is because he's the main character so he'll be a stereotypical hero but still he serves as a light to guide Windclan back to their promised... land...
Is Fireheart God?
Maybe. I don't want to do that analysis though so YOU can do that one
But deity questions aside, Fireheart is meant to guide the wider clan society forwards. He's the light to a new world for the clan cats and a light back home for Windclan.
Well I think that's minimum English II tier so good enough.
2. Cinderpaw: Someone's life has to suck, or does it?
The highlight character introduced in this book is Cinderpaw: the energetic apprentice with the staple tragic life event.
Cinderpaw is Fireheart's first apprentice and he's struggling to keep her under control. She highlights his youth despite his fancy shmancy warrior name and gives Fireheart room to grow throughout this book seemingly. Obviously this gets subverted by BIG ASS CAR but she still forces FIreheart into a role he isn't really ready for.
So Fireheart is slowly helping Cinderpaw take advantage of her eagerness and channel it responsibly though there's always a reigning hint of "her excitability could lead to problems oooooo"
I'm running out of words that mean high energy.
Then she gets hit by a car. Ouch
Disregarding the Tigerclaw part her character obviously changes dramatically. While she holds the desire to be a warrior reality now works against her and the energetic nature that's defined her now starts to hurt her as she loses hope and feels like a burden. To me the apex of this is when she tries to fight Brokenstar et al along with everyone else but is sent back to Yellowfang limping away. The limping, obviously due to her leg literally not working, I believe is meant to contrast the speed and energy she ran around with earlier. They didn't choose a leg injury for no reason. The injury is made to fully inhibit Cinderpaw's life so that she can't be herself.
But the strength in Cinderpaw's character is that she isn't a burden. As is hinted at towards the end, she's going to become a medicine cat apprentice and end up finding great utility in the clan. Cinderpaw's story is one of lost purpose. She exhibits the childlike eagerness towards one specific goal and gets that dream violently stripped away from her. But she's never useless, Cinderpaw finds a new job that supports her skill set. Nobody in the clans has no purpose. There is no dead weight, and Cinderpaw shows how she's able to exist, even in an acclaimed role like medicine cat despite her new disability.
And I think that's beautiful honestly.
3. Graystripe why are you like this
You're tearing me apart Graystripe!
Okay but seriously Graystripe is kind of an "antagonist" by the literal definition because while he may not conflict with Fireheart he conflicts with the ideals he upholds and believes in.
Graystripe is having a forbidden love with Silverstream, some Riverclan cat he meets while like drowning which is not how to find a girlfriend normally. That only works in Warriors Cats and The Sandlot. Graystripe's love deal is a fun conflict because it's entirely justifiable that he breaks the code. He truly loves Silverstream and wants to be with her. Can you blame someone for love (yes here's why)
The way the conflict actually unfolds is that Graystripe straight up significantly reduces his work in Thunderclan to meet up with Silverstream. He's consistently missing from patrols and hunting, he prolongs his sickness to not have to do things other than meet Silverstream, and, worst of all he isn't there when Fireheart needs someone to find Cinderpaw. Graystripe's laxness towards having his whole heart in Thunderclan is part of the reason Cinderpaw gets hurt (not saying it's his fault, Tigerclaw's next).
Really Graystripe's conflict goes back to the exploration of a society that Warriors is all about. He breaks the bounds but it begs the question: why are the bounds there? Graystripe's life is not being actually helped by the rules and the only reason harm comes is from the secrecy. It makes the reader ask a much much larger question:
Why four clans?
Seriously the main question this asks is how does the warriors society benefit from separation.
Going to leave that lingering for now. There's infinitely many more books and I know some later arcs hit on that better (and I do plan to go until I'm bored).
Going back to Graystripe, the conflict also stresses Fireheart's friendship with him and puts his ideals at odds with his friendship. Fireheart does pick his friend over the clan which I personally believe is based in him not originating from clan life. He isn't as deeply ingrained in the clan and is therefore willing to see friendship, something inherent to him (and like, most creatures), as more important than the stability of the clan. It's why he's an interesting main character.
"Fireheart went on. 'Graystripe, whatever you decide to do, I will always be your friend.'"
4. I (Cat M) tried to bait my leader into being hit by a car so I could assume complete control over my clan. A child got hit instead AITA?
Hello Reddit, my scheme didn't go as planned.
Enough Tigerclaw Redditor roleplay (any amount is enough tbf)
I didn't appreciate Tigerclaw as a villain nearly enough as a kid. He's SO good.
Again returning to structure, Tigerclaw shows the true fragility of the Warriors world: strong evil cats can take charge shockingly easily. Brokenstar took power and ruined Shadowclan with nothing to stop him until he was ousted by Thunderclan. Tigerclaw nearly takes a similar route and Fireheart shows how little there is to do to stop him.
Tigerclaw's presence shows how much weight authority is given in the world of Warriors. Fireheart can do nothing because Tigerclaw, as deputy, will always be in the right. He's strong, so why would he kill Redtail/try to pressure or kill or whatever Ravenpaw/plot to kill Bluestar and injure Cinderpaw. Even Bluestar's reasoning for not believing Fireheart is based in trusting anyone in authority. Because Tigerclaw killing Redtail means Redtail killed Oakheart and that can't happen because Redtail wouldn't do that as a deputy. The idea of authority comes above all else and Tigerclaw takes advantage of that.
Going to hold more on Tigerclaw for now though. As a kid I really just had the first 3 books for a good few years and read them tons. I know exactly what this bastard gets up to and I'm really excited to see it again.
5. Runningwind deserves to be mentioned
Trust me
No serious analysis cause you know its about like the least relevant Thunderclan warrior but something funny I noticed.
Graystripe is Fireheart's best friend however Runningwind specifically is hanging out with Fireheart a lot in this book. There are multiple scenes of him and Fireheart just chilling together. Eating mostly but still enough that I noticed. And not like Fireheart is with like a group of warriors it’s practically always Runningwind. What an underappreciated king honestly
Look at him (according to his Warriors wiki art):
Tumblr media
Point is I’m going to provide Runningwind updates now because…
If Runningwind has a million fans, I am one of them
If Runningwind has one fan, it is me
If Runningwind has no fans, that means I am no longer on this Earth
Conclusion Just to Feel Done
Fire and Ice is really good. I love so much of the book and I didn’t even have time for other standouts like Cloudkit, the way Winter is handled, Fireheart visiting Princess etc. because there is just so much happening.
Thanks for reading, I really do appreciate it cause I wrote way more than feels remotely reasonable . Feel free to leave any thoughts or disagreements cause I’d love to discuss this
I’m going to read Forest of Secrets now so bye bye see ya later

Curious to hear about Sandstorm in your rewrite. At least tell me she gets a cooler death
Sandstorm, the future Patron of Food Security! Prayed to, to keep Clans fed and hunts successful.
She gets a silly little moment with Firepaw when they first meet. Love at first sight from him, angelic choir, sparkles, hearts and all that... Only for her to hiss at him about "having to sleep next to a stinky kittypet"
She was sometimes jokingly referred to as Redtail's daughter, and it gave her a very complicated relationship with him. He was nice, and honorable, and everyone liked him... But he wasn't her parent, she didn't see him like that, he just found her, and she didn’t want to be in his shadow. When he died, it gave her emotions a bit too big to handle, and she took it out on Firepaw, a very easy target. Her bond with his mate, Runningwind, only came in after Redtail's death, and even then, that story never gets a complete ending, Runningwind dying too soon for Sandstorm to resolve how she feels. She has 0 connection with their adoptive/surrogated son, Stemkit/Stempaw/Stempelt.
It's about the What Might Have Been. Moving on from an incomplete puzzle that might not have even been one in the first place. She has No Discernable Heritage.
While she is still not given Tawnypaw to mentor, it isn't because of "Oh I don't wanna put her in danger" bs. Fireheart saw a sweet connection between Tawnykit and her aunt, Mistfang. He wanted to foster that. Also, Sandstorm being injured in the same patrol that Runningwind was killed in.
Skipping a bit forward, I can tell you that the one line in The Ultimate Guide about having wanted more kits but never wanting to bother Firestar was heartbreaking... and stupid. It's Sandstorm for goodness sake! If she has a thought she will express it! Instead, WCR!Sandstorm is mote than happy with her little family. She loves her daughters and the 4 of them are a perfect family in her mind. She actively doesn't want more kits. Also, she is pregnant during Firestar's Quest.
Her death in WCR!AVOS is different. I refuse to let her die in camp, but I also refuse to "thin the crowd" with a pathetic death for such a loved character. Instead, that death goes to Molewhisker. Molewhisker dies during The Apprentice's Quest, Sandstorm getting a cool scar on her shoulder.
She dies in the second book, when The Kin shows up and begins its insidious recruitment, drawing in cats of all backgrounds. Clan, Loner, Kittypet, and Rogue. When it becomes more clear what Darktail is doing, Sparkpaw fights back against him, and Sandstorm watches Darktail manage to grapple on top of her granddaughter. No one else knew she was there, as Bramblestar kept insisting she stayed in camp...
Sandstorm lunges at Darktail. Bowling into him and winding him. She rips his ear badly and puts deep scratches into his muzzle, urging Sparkpaw to run as Darktail reels from the injuries. Sparkpaw gets a front row seat as Darktail lunges for her grandmother one last time. He kills Sandstorm with a bite to her throat, but is tackled off by Hollyleaf and Lionblaze. Sparkpaw brings Sandstorm away from the fight and stay with her until she very quickly bleeds out.
It's the 'spark' that starts a chain reaction in Thunderclan. Sandstorm is honoured as a hero, and many cats fight in her name. Sparkpelt is.... Traumatized.
Sandstorm is also one of Skyclan's Patrons, along with Firestar, Smudge, and Scourge. Patrons of Rebirth.

Do you have any headcanons about Redtail exclusively?
You can find some more headcanons about Redtail here. But stuff just about him and no repeats...
Redtail had a fear of death. While he was a brave warrior, he always felt chills before battle that he masked. He'd knead his tail in private to settle his fears. Though he knew dying was a great honor for a Warrior, it never quite sat right in the same way for Redtail.
During A Light in the Mist when Redtail seems relieved to "be home" as he gazes across the meadow, alongside Onestar. While Onestar lived and died in the Lake Territories, Redtail thinks of his time running alongside his mate, Runningwind. The quick-foot tom had always preferred the open space to flex his skills, and the memory soothes Redtail.
Redpaw, albeit perhaps a bit naive, had hoped to mentor Stonekit. He greatly admired Bluefur, and it showed through his loyalty to her, as well as in how he was chosen as her deputy. When Bluefur's kits disappeared, he was one of the first to volunteer to look for them. He had to stay in the medicine den and be tended to by Spottedpaw when he risked freezing his paws off with his relentless work.
Redtail's personality was that of someone sharp and clever, perhaps even a bit cunning. While he never challenged Bluestar, he had his way of doing things and was willing to bend the rules if he saw it as for the greater good. He always put ThunderClan first, and by that many would say he was a fierce individualist. He never sought conflict unnecessarily, however he also did not turn away from it. His judgement balanced maintaining ThunderClan's reputation and respect, with genuine kindness for the forest territories and the code as a whole.
He's smaller in size, and always preferred hunting to fighting. His nimble frame made scaling trees easy, and he brushed up on his speed with help from his mate Runningwind. It was a stark contrast to Tigerclaw's preference for fighting and his large and heavy stature.
He mentored Dappletail's kit, Cricketstorm, who sadly died young due to the famine. This was what allowed him to be eligible to be deputy.
When he received Dustpaw as an apprentice, Redtail saw a lot of Tigerpaw in him - noticing how they both strove to prove themselves out of a consciousness for their background. He took extra care to instill honor and kindness in the tom before he died, which still prevailed in Dustpaw despite Darkstripe's influence later. Redtail was the closest to a father figure Dustpaw had.
His sister Spottedleaf had to practically force him into her den, as he always refused treatment, at least waiting until everyone else had it. His dark fur with red patches made it easy to mask blood and wounds, much to Spottedleaf's annoyance.
He was terrible about taking his traveling and battle herbs. He couldn't keep a good poker face, always curling his lip with disgust at the bitterness. Whitestorm always teased him for this.

Are there ANY cats who were apprentices at the same time as Darkstripe, or even right before/after? I'm trying to straight up rewrite Warriors and I'm trying to see who has agemates so far but there's nothing for him I can find except Runningwind and Mousefur maybe, but I split up there litter so now it's only Mousefur and I think he's slightly older or younger than her? Does Darkstripe just have no super close agemates in any clan? I think it sucks that he's kinda just sitting by himself so far lol.

Longstar AU - Chapter One
Longtail padded around camp, grabbing a piece of fresh kill in his jaws. Turning around, Darkears came into his eyeline. Following instinct, he padded over to the dark tabby tom. He'd done the same as him, denying Tigerclaw's request to leave with him. And, Darkears had mentored him.
“Longtail,” Darkears greeted, flicking his dark tabby tail.
“Darkears,” He greeted back, lying beside him. “.. How’s Fernpaw's training going?”
“Well,” He murmured. “She’s a good apprentice. Focused, loyal. She'll make a good warrior.”
    “That’s good,” Longtail mumbled back.
“.. I have a question,” Darkears turned his amber gaze on Longtail, who cocked his head.
    “What is it?” He questioned.
He sighed, “It’s been a week since Tigerclaw was exiled,” Darkears flattened his ears. “And I can’t.. help but think.. not going with him was the wrong decision.”
“What?” Longtail hissed, flattening his ears tight to his skull, “He’s a traitor to ThunderClan! He betrayed the loyalty that we shared; Bluestar chose him as deputy, trusted him to help and maybe run the clan, and he turned his back on her!” He growled, “How could you ever think it was the wrong choice..?”
“The clan is run by a weak leader and a kittypet deputy,” Darkears narrowed his eyes, hissing his words with venom. “And plus, they'll never trust us the same way they did. We were friends with Tigerclaw, trusted him the same way they did, but somehow we’re the bad cats. Do you see the way that Fireheart looks at you? Like you're going to pounce on him the minute he turns his back.”
“I—“ Longtail was lost for words. Because Darkears was right. But trust and loyalty could be earned back, couldn’t it..? “I still think we made the right choice, Darkears.”
“If that’s what you think, Longtail,” Darkears rose to his paws, flicking his tail irritability. “Have fun with your loyal, trusting clanmate's.” He padded away, leaving the feathers of his prey behind. Longtail watched as he went, mind racing.
Darkears was right. The clan may never trust him the same again; but that didn’t mean he couldn’t try to earn it. He had a loyal apprentice, and a few friends in Runningwind and Mousefur.
    “Hey! Longtail!”
He whipped his head to see Swiftpaw lying beside Brightpaw and Cloudpaw, a bright smile across his face. With a soft smile, he padded over to his apprentice and friends.
“I heard Fireheart saying he was gonna have you lead the moon high patrol,” Swiftpaw mewed, glancing at Brightpaw and Cloudpaw, who nodded. “.. Can we come with?”
“Well, you can,” Longtail flicked Swiftpaw's ear. “But Brightpaw and Cloudpaw have to ask their mentors.”
“I’m sure Fireheart will be okay with it,” Cloudpaw shrugged, “I think he was gonna go, anyway.”
“.. Is he?” Longtail's fur pricked up a bit. What, did he not even trust him to lead a patrol? “Okay.. than, uh, Brightpaw can ask Whitestorm. If he says it’s okay than you can come.”
“Thanks, Longtail!" Brightpaw gave the tan tabby tom a smile, brushing past him with a purr. She bounded over to Whitestorm.
At least she trusts me. And so does Swiftpaw, Longtail took in a sharp breath. I’m not sure about Cloudpaw. He looks at me kinda sideways. He glanced at the apprentice, across the clearing, speaking to Fireheart.
    “.. Longtail?”
At Swiftpaw's rather raspy, he snapped out of his thoughts.
“Yes, Swiftpaw?” Longtail settled down beside his apprentice, “Something wrong?”
“Not really,” He shrugged. “But.. I’m almost over twelve moons old.. shouldn’t I have become a warrior already? I’ve had my assessment. And so has Brightpaw and Cloudpaw. Thornpaw, too..”
“.. You should have,” Longtail murmured, gazing at Fireheart across the clearing. “I'll speak to Fireheart about it, okay? Maybe he can get that message to Bluestar, since she doesn’t seem to even wanna see her own clan.”
Swiftpaw leaned on his side, “Thanks.”
With a content purr, Longtail rasped his tongue over the top of Swiftpaw's head. Than, he noticed Fireheart and Cloudpaw bounding toward him.
“I'd like you to lead the moon high patrol,” He mewed softly. “I’m going to come along, along with Cloudpaw. Whitestorm and Brightpaw are coming, too.”
“Alright,” Longtail said with a hiss to his words. “Swiftpaw's coming, too.”
“.. Of course,” Fireheart flattened his ears, adverting eye-contact.
“And I’d like to speak with you, Fireheart,” Longtail narrowed his eyes.
“You don’t need to be all serious about it, Longtail.” Whitestorm padded up behind him, nudging his shoulder. “You can talk to your deputy without making a scene, you know.”
    “Well, yes, I—“
“I’m kidding with you, Longtail,” Whitestorm let out a purr of laughter. “Now, come on. Let’s patrol and get to bed. I’m an older cat, I need my rest.”
Fireheart twitched his whiskers. “Yes,” He smiled. “Let’s go.” He flicked his bushy tail, signaling for Longtail to take the lead. As he did, Fireheart joined up at the front with him, and the three apprentices fell in the back with Whitestorm.
“What’d you need to talk to me about, Longtail?” Fireheart flicked his bushy tail. “It seemed important.”
“I'd say,” Longtail hissed. “Swiftpaw, Brightpaw, Cloudpaw and Thornpaw should become warriors. They’ve passed their assessments, and are more than ready. Especially Swiftpaw.”
“You do understand that’s not my job, Longtail—“
“Yes, but your her deputy!” Longtail yelped, “And why isn’t she talking to the clan anymore? No meetings, no patrols. She doesn’t visit kits. No ceremonies. We don’t even see her! What in StarClan is going on?”
“Longtail, I—“ Fireheart sighed, “I understand your concerns. I will talk to her about it.. but she’s very.. shaken, from Tigerclaw. Sick, at that. You have to understand.”
“We all were,” Longtail flattened his ears. “She’s our leader. And she needs to start acting like it.”

You mentioned your Fireheart ghost AU will have like a Fire/Sand sibling dynamic? I was just wondering what that looks like for them!
The other warriors snicker as Fireheart is followed out of camp by a trail of rowdy apprentices, and for her snickering, Fireheart ropes Sandstorm into coming with them.
“Building your case to mentor one of the kits?” Sandstorm asks as they lead the way to the sandy hollow. Cinderpaw follows quietly on their tails, while Swiftpaw and Lynxpaw take swipes at each other in the back.
“Not really,” Fireheart replies. “But if it works then I won’t complain.”
“Fernkit, Ashkit, and Mistlekit,” Sandstorm counts. “One for you, one for me, and one for Dustpelt.”
Fireheart snorts. “As if Bluestar would give Dustpelt an apprentice over Graystripe. He’s almost more impatient than Runningwind.”
“Maybe, but we all know that if Bluestar gives any of us fresh-meat an apprentice then it’ll be you, and Dustpelt would throw a fit if you got to mentor an apprentice before him.”
“Then maybe Dustpelt shouldn’t have such a bad attitude all the time.”
“Not all the time,” Sandstorm disagrees. “Only whenever you’re around.”
Fireheart shoots Sandstorm a half-hearted glare. Looking back it’s hard to pinpoint the exact moment she decided to morph their rivalry into a friendly rivalry, and Fireheart suspects that Whitestorm had something to do with it. Whatever magic Whitestorm worked, though, apparently did not extend to Dustpelt.
“Because I’m a kittypet,” Fireheart says, sounding bitter.
“I mean, it’s not that simple, but sure.”
“Enlighten me, then.”
Sandstorm shrugs. “You joined the day his mentor was murdered so he was already grieving, and then he was reassigned to Darkstripe and he ended up spending a lot of time around Tigerclaw and Longtail who basically make up your entire fan club--”
“Okay, I get it,” Fireheart interrupts. “You’re saying he was brainwashed.”
“I’m saying your mentor has a lot to do with who you become,” Sandstorm retorts. Somehow that feels like the theme of the day.
A star mentored a star mentored a star, remembers Fireheart. He wonders what Whitestorm’s father, Tigerclaw’s mentor, was like. He wonders if he can ask the elders about it without seeming suspicious.
Sandstorm takes his contemplative silence as brooding and suggests, “You know, there is an alternative explanation. Maybe Dustpelt is like, secretly madly in love with you and he loathes himself for it.”
Fireheart cuts Sandstorm a glare. “Quit joking.”

Note
my fav charries are mousefur and longtail,,, can you talk about them in talonslock???
Ah, Mousefur and Longtail, the young background cast of arc 1 that turned into the elder cast of arc 2. No hate towards you, anon - I think they're fun characters, I just wish the Erins would have done more with them, y'know?
(Possible light spoilers below the cut - nothing that explicitly covers future plots, but which may explain some cats' reactions in the future!)
To start off with, they're siblings with Quickflash (Runningwind) in my AU - One-eye being their mother. They're not especially close by sibling standards, but they do care deeply for one another (as seen by Longtail and Mousefur seeking revenge for Quickflash's death on Brokentail and company). They were born basically at the same time as Willowbranch, Mistspring, and Nightwish, so they were all essentially raised together, and in time they all kind of became pairs of friends- Quickflash and Willowbranch, Mousefur and Mistspring, Nightwish and Longtail. Quickflash and Willowbranch went on to become mates, as we know...
I won't cover Longtail's feelings over Nightwish in depth, but suffice it to say that he was devastated when she died. He was offered the apprenticeship of her son, Ravenkit, but refused it - he couldn't help but see Nightwish every time he looked at her son, and thought he wouldn't be fair to Ravenkit. (An interesting timeline would see him as Ravenpaw's father - it's interesting to think about how things might have changed then!)
He was apprenticed to Redtail at the same time that Darkpaw was apprenticed to Tigerclaw, and the four of them were all quite close before Redtail's death - they would often spar together, even after Darkstripe and Longtail became warriors. He was extremely close to Redtail, who taught him everything he knows today about the code. From Tigerclaw, his 'second mentor', he learned a great deal about fighting - but it was Redtail that taught him when to fight, and when to choose peace. Even after he became a warrior, it wasn't uncommon to see him eating with Bluestar and Redtail.
I think he's a very interesting character, especially since in my AU he wasn't the one to attack Fireheart because he was older and Redtail taught him to be less headstrong (that role went to Dustleap instead). He's previously had a very black-and-white outlook on things - either you are for the code, or against it. This lead to his strong dislike of Fireheart (a kittypet, and therefore against the code), as well as susceptible to the manipulation of Tigerclaw, who has always portrayed himself as a loyal, Code-abiding warrior. Recent events have turned all of his previous thinking on its head, and in the wake of Tigerclaw's destruction he has his own inner reckoning to deal with...
Mousefur, on the other paw, has always felt left behind by those around her. Her brother, Longtail, was apprenticed to the deputy himself (an honor normally reserved for leader's kits). Her other brother, Quickflash, eventually became deputy, after mentoring the deputy's kit Dustleap. Even her best friend, Mistspring, got an apprentice before her. Willowbranch and Nightwish were always considered the pretty mollies of the group, leaving her dead last in everything.
It's perhaps for this reason that she's poured every bit of herself into everything she does, which can sometimes have disastrous results. Prior to Rusty joining the Clan, she injured herself badly over a fight for Sunningrocks - a fight they lost, a loss she blames herself for. She's considered one of the best hunters in the Clan, alongside Dappleshine, Sandstorm, and Peppermask, but even then she's only 'one of' the best - she longs to be the best, to have something no one can challenge her on.
Now that Mousefur has an apprentice at the same time as her brother, as well as the deputy and his kits, she's started to feel like her life is finally going somewhere, and she's subsequently done everything she can to be the absolute best mentor to Cherrypaw - to the point Cherrypaw almost sees her as a third mother. She often goes to Dappleshine for tips, and Dappleshine (having previously gone through much of the struggles that Mousefur now deals with) is happy to help. Mousefur just wishes that someone, anyone, would notice how hard she's working, and care for her just because of her... but is that too much for her to ask?
(A bit long I know but I hope that satisfied you, anon! I'm open to doing deep dives of any character if any of y'all want to send an ask/comment - I have a lot of these characters rotating in my head when I'm bored [always] so I think about them a lot and have a lot of headcanons for them XD No spoilers though!)

Goldenflower and lionheart help the elders to safety

As Bluestar circled around the camp to see if any cat was still in camp she felt someone push her in and all she saw was a bushy tail and one amber eye as she fell in the flaming camp
Bluestar lost a life

Sandstorm woke up to the sound of Brightheart yelling and the smell of smoke and she got up to check the apprentices and helped them out of the den but before she can get across camp a part of the bramble wall fell trapping her in a cornor while the camp set a blaze.
"Sandstorm!" she heard her father cry
"I'll be fine I promise ill hide somewhere until it dies down and meet you in riverclan ok?" Sandstorm said trying to get Redtail out knowing he would die other wise helping her. She heard him run away and she crawls into a crevice in the ravine wall and she made herself as small as she could.
Sandstorm closed her eyes and waited for the heat to die down so she could get out
when Sandstorm next opened her eyes she saw a camp smoldering and in the middle was Whitestorm. She ran to him and greeted him warmly, but she realized what this had ment and looked over to see her body. She looked away and back to Whitestorm. "Everyone else made it out right, Did Redtail make it?"
Whitestorm nodded. "He did my faithful apprentice but come on it is time and I'm sure seeing a familiar face will help the clanmates that need help to starclan." Whitestorm said and with one final look at her home she left with Whitestorm to bring her clan mates up to the ranks of starclan.
Sandstorm has passed away
Clouddapple helps redtail towards the river when he emerges

Warrior Cats: Rising Storm - Erin Hunter
"Fireheart's traitorous enemy Tigerclaw has been vanquished and exiled from Thunder Clan -- but Fireheart can't shake the feeling that he's lurking in the forest, waiting for his chance to strike.
That's not the only problem facing the young warrior in these blazing summer months, as he struggles to handle sinister omens, an apprentice with a shocking secret, and a devastated Clan leader who is a shell of her former self. Meanwhile the forest gets hotter and hotter ... and everyone braces for the coming storm... "
Read Date - June 21st, 2024
Length - 315 pages
Genre - Adventure, Fantasy, Animal Fiction
Rating - 7/10
Stars - ★★★☆☆
Notes -  I really like how this next Big Bad Plot Line is set up, with Bluestar being the cat that Fireheart is afraid of now. Not for the same reasons as before, but it makes it all the more interesting. On top of this, the foreshadowing with Cloudpaw is fantastic. The twist that he’s been using twolegs for food is perfect. You just know its happening, but its not until its revealed where you’re like “oh crap”.When he’s eventually stolen away, you just feel so horrible. That poor kitty didn't decide that whatsoever. Whitethroat’s and Runningwind’s death are literally so heartbreaking and you’ve been expecting it to happen since the thunderpath was originally introduced but you never considered that Erin Hunter would actually go there. They do, and it’s so fucking sad. The lead up to Tigerclaw being revealed is really good, and the fight is very descriptive. I almost had to skip parts because I don’t like to imagine animals being hurt! The “adventure” to get Cloudpaw back from the twolegs was incredible, and the fight that ensues because of it was very well written. I also like how Bluestar is being painted, as if she’s uncapable of running the clan. You can just tell that Fireheart is going to be a leader one day. The fire breaking out was genuinely shocking to me because i assumed that “fire will save the clan” meant fireheart! I wasn’t expecting real fire! The deaths that go along with it are so heartbreaking, and I cried over Yellowfang. I think the twist at the end was very good as well, and you kind of expect it, but you dont’t at the same time. It was perfect.

Sandstorm and Longtail as Runningwind and Redtail kits????
Get in loser, we're bullying kittypets
Tumblr media
So there are three options for how old these two could be (as of Into the Wild, at least)
First, They're both apprentices (Longtail gets aged down)
Second, They're both new warriors (Sandstorm gets aged up)
Or Third, They're the same age as canon, and were two separate single kit litters (probably unlikely)
I don't think that their character arcs would change very much, though. Possibly Longtail would also start being a little nicer to Fireheart after he saves Sandstorm at the gorge? Also maybe Sandstorm also gets kinda squinted at suspiciously by Thunderclan after Tigerclaw's exile
I don't think that this Sandstorm would keep that name though, since she's no longer sandy colored. I don't know what her prefix could be, though. Longtail can keep his name, though. He sure does have a long tail

Jake Family Tree
Tumblr media
This was a HUGE task cause I decided to show how three different families come together with two main generations, and this shows some of the big changes I've made to family trees already.
Key:
Red: Romantic or related
Purple: Non-romantic pair
Pink: Crush or one sided feelings
With that out of the way, I can now start to explain a bit of what's going on here! (These will be separated into sections to make it easier to take in)
Fire Family
Tumblr media
Emberbounce, previously known as Jake, was once well-known as a hardy Streetcat, never having owners and never needing them. He relied on his own skills to find food and shelter. He's also quite a bit of a charmer, even if he's not romantically interested. This made him very attractive in terms of alley toms. This is what led him to a close friend of his--Nutmeg.
Nutmeg, the cat of an Abyssinian breeder, managed to get out and meet Jake. They became friends, never romantic, but they decided to have kits nonetheless. Before we speak about them, though, we have to talk about this mysterious other cat.
Strudel was a Housecat well known for how he suddenly appeared one day. No one knew where he came from or what kind of life he had. He simply showed up, said many strange words no cat could understand, and lived a life of relaxation. Nutmeg decided to live with him and his Housefolk, not wanting to return to the breeder. While Strudel had fallen in love with her, all she wanted was someone to help raise her kittens. So, he took on a teacher role, never quite becoming the kits' father, but far more than just a caretaker.
Now, onto the kittens: Filou and Tommy don't exist anymore, or at least aren't Jake and Nutmeg's kits.
Rusty, Princess, and Luna had always been adventurous, much like their parents. They were super close, even after they were sold to their new Housefolk. Rusty, the most inquisitive, was always setting out on adventures. Meanwhile Princess, the most responsible, and Luna, the most reckless, were tagging along, causing mayhem in the streets. Really, no one was surprised when Rusty disappeared, though when his best friend Smudge began talking about stories of magic cats in another plane, it was hard to say that was predictable.
While Rusty--now Fireheart--found love in his fellow WinterClan warrior Sleetstorm, Princess found love in a kind tom named Oliver, a cat her Housefolk had gotten as a companion for her. The two are now expecting kittens, and looking for a new adventure together. Good thing Smudge seems to have an idea.
Tiny Family
Tumblr media
Nutmeg isn't the only cat Jake sired for. Quince, a fellow Streetcat, had always desired to become a mother. That's when she met Jake, who was willing to help her out. They had three kits--Ruby, Socks, and Tiny.
While Ruby and Socks were inseparable partners in crime, Tiny was often left behind and seen as a nuisance. He struck out on his own quite often, finding his own ways to entertain himself. Eventually, tired of Ruby and Socks bullying him, he decided he wanted to live with Jake. That's when his father had an idea.
The two went to the Isle of Seasons, where Jake had been once before, and moved into SpringClan, where they were named Emberbounce and Tinypaw. This is when Emberbounce and Tallstar began to bond, until they finally became mates. Tallstar was happy to adopt Tinypaw as his son.
Sleet Family
Tumblr media
Spottedleaf, herbalist of WinterClan, and Redtail, an esteemed storyteller, have always been the best of friends, and always got into trouble as apprentices. Though they've grown and matured, and they don't spend nearly as much time together, they're both at heart still those trouble-making siblings. They've just gotten better at hiding it.
During his transition, Redtail found himself spending more time with his close friend Runningwind, and the two slowly came to realize their feelings for each other. Eventually, they were proud to announce their kits.
Sleetstorm, Snowdrift, and Longtail were all known to be very noble, following the Clan Code's every rule, no matter what. They were all apprenticed as warriors, and thrived together as some of the most respected apprentices. Longtail even graduated early, having been an exceptionally fast learner. Then, Fireheart came along.
By the end of the first arc, the siblings weren't quite exclusively followers of the Code, and set out to help make changes that would make the Clans better for all cats.
Morning Family
Tumblr media
Wrenflight, one of Tallstar's half-siblings, was always one for family. She always followed in Tallstar's pawsteps, and dreamed of being just like him. However, there was always one way they differed: while Tallstar preferred to stay quiet about his beliefs and listen to Mudclaw, Wrenflight has never backed down in her views. This is what Stagleap found so curious about her.
Stagleap grew up as the largest apprentice in the Clan, and eventually became the largest warrior in the Clan. He was always respected for his strength, though there was an ever-present expectation that he had to be strong at all times. With Wrenflight, he didn't have to worry about that. It wasn't long before the two became mates and welcomed their new kits.
Onekit was named for being the only survivor of his litter, considered the strongest by Stagleap. When he was named Onepaw, his younger siblings Ashkit and Morningkit were born, and the two looked up to him. As he got older, he grew closer to cats outside his own Clan, encouraged by his mother. He sought to bring the Clans together, befriending WinterClan and SummerClan cats alike, though Stagleap never liked his affinity for WinterClan. Meanwhile, Morningpaw and Ashpaw preferred to stay within their own camp. While Ashpaw was dismissive of outsider connections, Morningpaw was fascinated by Tinypaw's stories of another world, and though she'd never dream of venturing out into the unknown, she's content to hear stories of such adventures.

Rising Storm reread!
Overall, 9.5/10, thoughts at the bottom of the post. Half point removed for having an odd pacing, not much technically happened but also a lot happened as well, i always think the events of this one are in forest of secrets.
Prolouge
Huh, they actually foreshadow the second arc and skyclan, neat
Careful Runningnose, i dont like the way you phrased that
Ooo spooky omens, i like it
Chapter 1
Im retracting my statement from last book, i dont like cloudpaw
Tigerclaw was banished a quarter moon ago
Might be harsh, but fireheart's right, cloudpaw's gotta learn respect for the prey
More exposition, but placed better, feels more like his memories than the authors
Willowpelt is expecting
Why have ash and fern not been apprenticed yet, their a moon older than cloud
Thank you whitestorm for helping our boy with patrols
In fireheart's defense, its hard to keep track of where one cat is, nevermind a whole clan
Aww hi brightpaw
So mistlekit is still alive, eh? Kit survived the whitecough bought
Unfortunatrly the elders werent incorrect in their worry
I like this start, the writing is far smoother
Chapter 2
"Your eyes have always betrayed your heart" i really like that line
Fireheart being scared of a kitten is shockingly in character, same tom who overthought a mossball comment
I like the implication that bluestar and leaders generally visit the nursery a lot
Ah, theres the slightly jarring exposition
I love whitestorm so much
I know it wasnt canon at the time of writing the book, but i like that whitestorm's the one to be concerned, thsts his auntie
Honestly i can't blame bluestar for losing trust so fast, being backstabbed like that can really mess with your head, i've seen it happen
But thats also really sad, she was so happy to announce cloudpaw's ceremony last book
Cloudpaw has been an apprentice for a half moon
Fireheart, lets not continue with the pity
Cinderpaw was made yellowfang's apprentice a moon and a half ago
From an author persepctive, not a fan of cinderpaw's worry here, but from a character perspective, i understand her, its a lot to learn, especially at such a young age with people's health at stakr
Ok i understand why he chose darkstripe instead of sandstorm, no need to risk more clan unease at the moment, but god i hope he explains this rationally to sandstorm
Chapter 3
I know bluestar's aggression is a bad thing, but she's got a point, two attacks in one moon means you gotta keep some around
Cloudpaw being annoying, as usual
Ash and Fern, yay!
Chapter 4
Oo, i like the imagery of that nightmare
Ah, here's bluestar's...not mania, i dont think thats the word, but impulsiveness, maybe
Haha runningwind doesn't like cloudpaw, cant blame him
I like bluestar in book 2 was like "runningwind is a good cat but he wouldnt be good with apprentices" and he keeps getting stuck with apprentices
Chapter 5
Exposition part 3
Even with her mind clouded, her instincts are sharp
Yay bluestar's happy
Oh nevermind
Ah, hello mudclaw, not the last time your gonna cause trouble
Bluestar no-
Chapter 6
Goddamn it cloudpaw
Both runningwind and fireheart are increasingly exasperated with him
Fireheart, your the most patient cat on earth for putting up with cloudpaw for so long, lets hope it pays off
Chapter 7
Quarter moon since the moonstone attempt
Graystripe has been in riverclan for nearly a moon
Greenleaf is furball season
Stop looking at him, your making him nervous
Chapter 8
Ok, wildly abrupt time cut
Littlecloud was 3 moons old when he was apprenticed in the first book
Jesus, poor kit
Damn, i feel bad for these two
This whole time and no one was aware of these paths?
Chapter 9
Not sure how i feel about this new sandstorm
Oh look Fireheart, cloudtail took your advice from the first book
Chapter 10
I know hes written as arrogant, and he is very arrogant, but his confused look there gives me "autist who needs a rule to be explained far more bluntly" vibes, as one myself
Willowpelt's kitting
Aw no poor cinderpaw
Oh, cinderpelt. When'd she get her name?
Two she-cats and a tom, eh? Alright, rain, soot, which of you is the trans tom?
Bit of an awkward transition to the next day there, but alright
Two moons since the last rain
Chapter 11
Aw, cinderpelt
Fireheart cant stay mad at his baby sister forever
Sandfire advenetures!
Cloudpaw no!
Chapter 12
Okay, bad wording fireheart, but sandstorm turned way too quickly
Oh, poor ash
Chapter 13
Aw, ashfur, babie boy. Im gonna hate you next arc
Ok good, bluestar still has some wisdom in hef
Fireheart please take cinderpelt's advice, let spottedleaf go
Chapter 14
Brackenfur's not stupid, he can see u like her, fireheart
Aw, whitestorm's so concerned for his aunt
Im just picturing bluestar lying on her side, sadly licking dew from individual leaves
Chapter 15
Willowpelt not being forced into mother or warrior solely, for the win!
Oh no, runningwind!
Ah shit, there goes whitethroat
Tigerclaw u fucker
Chapter 16
GET HIS ASS FIREHEART
Skinny tigerclaw is a cursed image
Whitestorm to the rescue!
And greystripe!!
Chapter 17
I love how considerate fireheart is
Uh oh, bluestar, please stay calm
I think the writers got confused on mourning rituals, isnt it those closest to the dead that sit vigil?
Still, poor runningwind
Thornpaw, buddy! You've been given absolutely no characterization so far, poor guy, the neglected littermate
Yellowfang's reminded of Brokenstar, isnt she
Chapter 18
Aw, brackenfur playing with the kits
What ever happened to the "dont eat on hunting patrols" thing he was critizing cloudpaw about earlier?
Ravenpaw!!! My buddy!!!
Oh lord, exposition
Cloudpaw's been missing for a quarter moon
Chapter 19
Goddamn why is sandstorm so quick to fight with him
I see where shes coming from, dont leave the clan unguarded to go pick up your nephew from a twoleg nest, but have like, a reasonable discussion at least
...au where brightpaw comes across tigerclaw during the journey back to camp and gets kidnapped or killed
He has his own territory!! Good for you, dude!
Chapter 20
Thunderclan tree scaling skills coming in handy again
Why is sandstorm so harsh against ravenpaw???
Im glad ravenpaw has confidence, and a lot of it, given he just willingly alerted dogs to himself
Chapter 21
Cloudpaw better be on a redemption arc now, i really want to like him
Deadfoot nooo
Haha webpaw said fuck that
Aw, ashpaw, cutie
Hell yeah, more elders liking cloudpaw content
Chapter 22
Bluestar's memory is fading isnt it
Ok good cloudpaw's improving
I love these nightmares and omens, shame ive never seen fanart for them
Chapter 23
Ah, the fire, time for heartbreak
Ough, the image of patchpelt trying to drag halftail to saftey
I know yellowfang dies this book but shes gotta be alive! Shes just gotta!
Au where yellowfang survives and teaches leafpool
Chapter 24
Nooo, patchpelt!
Au where bluestar dies instead of yellowfang
Huh, they remembered mistlekit's existence, but not the fact she should definitely be an apprentice by now
Chapter 25
Ah good, leopardfur's softening a bit
Aw, smallear wanting to bury patchpelt
I'd be neat if one of the willowkits got asthma from this, but i know they dont
Chapter 26
Darkstripe you dick
Yess dustpelt becoming likeable
Bluestar's getting worse, isnt she
Storm and Feather! Babies!
Chapter 27
I like crookedstar
God, it really is destroyed, huh
Poor halftail
This is horrific, one of the worse deaths, if shes still conscious when fireheart finds her, she was probably conscious all night
"I wish you had been my son, but i could not have borne a cat like you" god.
Oh god, the image of fireheart desperately talking over her, knowing shes gone, ough
Chapter 28
I cant even blame bluestar here, i'd break from this too
Rip yellowblue shippers (fangfur? Bluefang?)
Three quarter moon
Chapter 29
I think cloudpaw has gotten "my boy!" status
Whitestorm's such a good warrior, man, i love him
Darkstripe's a dick part ???
Chapter 30
Gorsepaw!!!
Tallstar!!!
See, this is why i love firestar, he didnt have to tell runningnose personally, he could've just announced it
Ohoho, hello tigerclaw, you evil fucker
My thoughts
9.5/10, technically a lot happened but it also felt like nothing happened, so half a point off. I liked it though, the writing is holding up so far, everyone's mostly in character- aside from sandstorm's flip-flopping- and the fire scenes were brutal. Not necessarily my favourite so far, but high up

ThunderClan family tree draft 1, part 1: Firekin
Tumblr media
Gonna do separate trees for all the different TC families, since I tried and can assure you that just isn't really possible without making it look like a mess. I had this one done for quite a while but forgot to post it oof. Anyway, Firestar's line. He and his direct descendants are highlighted in orange -- Cloudtail doesn't count as firekin but I still put him there.
Firestar and Sandstorm aren't mates, just really good friends who both wanted kits. Besides, Fire is aro and gay as hell, and Sand's aroace.
(Sandstorm and Longtail's parents are Redtail (who is not trans) and Runningwind. Longtail was either from an older litter or aged down to be an apprentice in ITW)
Dewnose is shuffled over to another parents, there was no need for BrightCloud to have 4 kids
Ivypool doesn't have a mate she doesn't need one she is perfectly capable of fucking up her kids on her own
Lionblaze is transmasc, and Cinderheart is a vaguely cis lesbian that actually respects herself, so he needs a new partner to raise his million kittens with. I mean he could be a single dad but Lion strikes me as a person that needs another guy to make out with thrice a day in order to keep going. Leaning more towards Toadstep, Icecloud was also an option since he was implied (or just stated?) to also have a little crush on Lion as an apprentice, but he's also transmasc so idk about the lionkin babies, plus I feel like he grew out of it pretty quickly and doesn't really care about Lion that way anymore.
Anyway, regarding the ToadLion kids: Sorrelstripe got shuffled over to another family, Fernsong is a single dad of Myrtle and Bay now. Snap and Fly can stay as Lion's kids because they left TC and thus cannot fuck up the tree's gene pool anymore.
Sparkpelt's mate will either remain Larksong, or be changed to Stormcloud, depending on whether it may fuck up the tree (one again) when I get around to picking Lark's parents. Plus, Stormcloud is clean and can be basically any cat's parent.
Anyway toodles gamers we're doing the TC Tigerkin (and related) later methinks
