In an electrifying announcement that will cause anticipatory convulsions through the world of metal, Bay Area icons MACHINE HEAD have announced the first leg of their 'Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024’ tour. Forgoing their “An Evening With…” format for the first time in a decade, MACHINE HEAD will have LA’s cyber-metal masters FEAR FACTORY, Sweden’s ORBIT CULTURE, and Louisville, KY’s GATES TO HELL in tow guaranteeing your 2024 starts off as heavy as humanly possible!
'Slaughter The Martøur Nørth America 2024’ will kick off with a “hometown” show for MACHINE HEAD, their first since 2020 in San Francisco on January 19th. Then the tour heads north with shows in the Pacific Northwest as well as eight shows in Canada. Other stops include Chicago, Orlando, and Houston before concluding in Los Angeles on February 24th at The Bellwether.
MACHINE HEAD’s founder Robb Flynn states, "Head Cases! This will be the greatest metal tour on earth! So stoked to be getting back on the road in America/Canada with 4 masters of soul-crushing heaviness and an absolutely earth-shattering bill. Fear Factory has long been our brothers-in-arms, pioneers, and innovators of a sound that had yet to exist. Orbit Culture are the fast-rising Swedish modern metal maniacs bringing their unique spin to the world, and Gates To Hell absolutely blew my mind at Milwaukee Metalfest with their sheer savage brutality. North America, we’re ready to crush skulls, crush beers, and crush everything in our path!

COLONY HOUSE releases “Would Ya Could Ya,” in anticipation of The Cannonballers, dropping 2/3/23
Tumblr media
The music of Colony House—an indie rock band made up of brothers Will and Caleb Chapman, as well as Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell—is playfully self-described as “landlocked surf rock.” Their personal genre designation is as much inspired by their hometown of Franklin, Tenn., as their new album The Cannonballers is: within 11 tracks, the band delves into where they come from and how a place, and its memories, have made them. “It’s too easy getting sucked into the grind of everyday life… the hustle and the hurry we all willingly subject ourselves to,” Caleb says of the newest single. “‘Would Ya Could Ya’ is about breaking the mold. At surface level, it’s a ‘let’s get outta here’ open road, never look back type of cruiser, but beneath the surface, I think it recognizes that we are often the obstacle standing in our own way and that it’s up to us to make the next move.” Following the February 3rd release of The Cannonballers, Colony House will embark on a national tour, kicking off on February 11th at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Dates HERE.  The Cannonballers marks the band’s fourth full-length release: their three previous studio collections take listeners on a journey through stories of loss, grief, and heartbreak while welcoming them into the hope that comes on the other side. Their 2014 debut, When I Was Younger, included the single “Silhouettes,” which became the #1 most played track on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation for four months straight. Only The Lonely, whose title and demeanor pay tribute to the vintage sounds of Roy Orbison and the Beach Boys, followed in 2017. The surf-rock hit, “You Know It,” went viral on Tik Tok, and has amassed 100 million streams across all platforms to date, after being featured as the soundtrack to Samsung Mobile’s nationwide ad campaign. Leave What’s Left Behind was released in January of 2020; the band managed to play half of their 40 city headline tour before being forced to pause alongside the rest of the world. Like many touring artists, they found different ways to continue to create, producing and directing a full-length feature film, “Everybody’s Looking For Some Light,” which was an official selection at the Nashville and Knoxville Film Festivals. The movie debuted at a two-day drive-in event produced by the band at Greystone Quarry in Franklin, TN. Over 2,000 people (in over 600 cars) showed up to watch the film and see Colony House perform. The band has performed their songs for worldwide audiences with two appearances on both Late Night with Seth Meyers and CONAN, as well as The Today Show, VH1’s “Morning Buzz,” and MTV Live. They have also been part of several festival lineups including Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits, Firefly, WonderBus, and Lollapalooza. 2023 will see them adding Bonnaroo to that already impressive list. The Cannonballers is an apt addition to the band’s catalog, staying true to what Colony House does best, and expanding on what their fans have gravitated to for the past decade: hope and light in the midst of it all. No frills, no gimmicks. Just heart-level rock and roll music. The Cannonballers is now available to PRE-SAVE and will be out everywhere on February 3rd, 2023. Orville Peck
9/25/2021 // Pittsburgh
Country is, until recently, something that has been very out of my depth. I think like a lot of people like me, Orville Peck has been the stepping stone to getting more into the genre. So this was my first official country show.
The opener, Dale Hollow and the Long Con, dripped with charisma. Love, money, alien abductions, and audience banter. Dale quipped and talked about his (patent pending) country music superstardom while the Long Con played and danced around him. I couldn’t think of a better opener for Peck (though admittedly my scope is limited).
And Peck himself was dazzling. Talking and singing, his voice was like butter, charming and suave and stylish. Even with an incredible backing band, all eyes were on him as he hit every note to perfection. The energy was electric, everyone dancing to the faster songs, swaying to the slow ones, and of course everyone singing along to every word. Even at one point a group of drunken jagoffs started a tiny mosh pit, something I had been joking of earlier that night because it seemed like the most ridiculous thing that could’ve ever happened. But that’s the power of Orville Peck. And admittedly I did join in (mainly just to get a few shoves at the jags who talked loudly the whole show). After a slew of songs from Pony, Show Pony, and a Righteous Brothers cover, Orville and his band big everyone goodnight. I think the cheering to get him to encore was louder than all the music that night. His final song of the night was a cover of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, of course garnering such an uproar from a majority queer audience, including my transgender ass. All in all, a fantastic performance form Peck and I hope he makes a return to the Burgh very soon.

The Aquabats!/The Aggrolites/Lost Again @ The Roxian Theater (Pgh) 07/08/2024
So, it’s been a long time since I have been to a punk rock show… or really any kind of show or concert. It’s been even longer since I was a regular attendee or participant in such shenanigans. I got the opportunity to take my son to his 1st ever punk rock show on Monday at The Roxian (a place I have never been), and we had a blast watching Left Alone, The Aggrolites, & The Aquabats! Left Alone…

UPDATED 01.12.21
To all present ticket-holders and future ticket-buyers for the YOUNG GUNS TOUR:
We take the health and safety of the bands, road crews, local venue staff and especially our fans very seriously. Due to an abundance of caution regarding the recent COVID surge, we have decided to postpone the start of the YOUNG GUNS TOUR to February 20, 2022, in Denver Colorado. Any performance that was scheduled prior to February 20th in Denver has been rescheduled until after March 5th. The shows scheduled from February 20th through to March 5th will remain as previously announced. The show in Portland, ME originally scheduled for January 28th is canceled and all ticket holders for that event can receive a refund at point of purchase. The revised tour schedule has allowed us to add a few additional shows to the itinerary and those shows will be on sale on Friday, January 14th at 10AM local time. We can't wait to see everyone on tour and bring you an unforgettable evening of rock n' roll.
*Mammoth WVH & Dirty Honey shows on February 24 and 25, 2022 are being flipped. As such, February 24th will now be Las Vegas, NV at House of Blues and February 25th will now be Sacramento, CA at Ace of Spades.

The videos for the previously launched singles can be viewed here:
“Atonement”: https://youtu.be/k-po0_DnsJk
