What if Peter learned about Harley's existence through a phone call Tony answered in front of him? Excerpt from my Irondad longfic that serves as an adorable stand-alone of Harley-Tony goodness!
Wordcount: 887
* Peter and Tony were discussing something, when Tony's phone rang and he asked Peter if he minded answering. Peter said it was fine. He didn't regret it. *
“After a whole week of dodging my calls, sending me texts with barely-readable Gen Z slang and abbreviations, I'm borderline worried—nevertheless, happy to finally hear your voice, terrorist,” Tony sent into the phone, causing Peter to look up at him with surprised and confused eyes.
“You know what? I’m just gonna say this, and you make what you want out of it… Black bears simply aren’t eating enough people.”
Closing his eyes and letting out a breath through his nose, Tony prayed for strength and sanity, while Peter couldn’t help but snicker at the words his super hearing easily caught. He watched his mentor waiting for his answer, curiosity peaked.
“What did you do, Harley?”
“I mean… I know Rosehill is a town and all, but, dude! Climate change! Shouldn’t they, like, come down from the mountains and look for food and stuff in towns? Desperately rummaging through trash, finding nothing but our civilization's gloriously gross junk food - that even a hungry black bear wouldn’t touch - and then randomly eating a passerby?”
Peter snorted, trying to keep his amused vocalizations at the random tirade quiet, causing Tony to shake his head in terrified resignation at the inevitability of these two eventually meeting each other.
“And when I say randomly, I may or may not mean my English teacher,” Harley continued.
“What have I told you about applying yourself, Harley?” Tony asked, his resigned tone gaining an edge.
“Something that directly contradicts what you've told me about wasting my potential on frivolous things that won't matter in my future.”
“You see, Harley... The English language we're all jabbering away in, especially in those fancy colleges you're drooling over, doesn't fall into the category of frivolous things that won't matter for your future,” Tony stated.
“It's freaking Shakespeare, mech’!” Harley's voice was a whine now. “The man was crazy! A donkey-headed guy getting it on with fairy queens… I mean, come on!”
Biting his lower lip in an effort to keep himself from laughing, Tony took a deep breath, avoiding eye contact entirely with Peter, who was chuckling and shamelessly listening in to the conversation.
"Harley, we've had this chat before. You can't just bail on everything you don't like. You can’t expect you'll just breeze through school without breaking a sweat. You think MIT or Columbia will roll out the red carpet for you if you flunk everything except math, chem, and science?"
“I already got the lecture from Ava, man. Give me a break, here.”
“I'll give you a break when you give me one, terrorist. But until then, park yourself and hit the books. It's not rocket science; we're talking about fairy tales and donkey-faced characters here. If you can crack quadratic equations without even bothering with homework, I'm pretty sure you can handle Shakespeare.”
“That's torture!”
“No, Hamlet is torture. And you know what else will be torture? Whatever your mom and I come up with if you don’t start putting in some serious effort! You got a week to start straightening things out, Harl, or Ava and I will straighten you out instead. Capiche?”
“But wouldn’t it be a lot more cost-effective if you called school -all Tony Stark and shit - and demanded that I be excused from Shakespeare altogether? Oh, I know! We can make it a religious thing… Like studying Shakespeare goes against my religious dogma! That’s dope! They won’t be able to fight that if it comes from you…”
"Alright, kid, first things first: lay off the Red Bull. Second, if you put half as much effort into hitting the books as you do trying to wriggle out of this, we wouldn't even be having this chat. There's no shortcut around it. Buckle down and get to work."
“So that’s a no to my against-my-religion master plan?”
“That’s a no!”
“I hate you more than Shakespeare hated sanity,” came the resigned answer from the other line.
“Study, donkey-head,” Tony emphasized with a roll of his eyes before hanging up.
“I knew you had a kid hidden somewhere,” Peter said with a smirk.
Letting out a snort, Tony shook his head. "Harley isn't my kid, Pete. We bumped into each other a few years ago, and we've stayed in touch since then."
“That sounded like more than just staying in touch,” Peter commented, eyeing the man. “That’s how you roast me, too."
"Smooth talk, as always, Pete," Tony smirked. "I do lend a hand with Harley, but it's a bit of a different ball game. He's down in Tennessee, so it's more of a long-distance gig. The universe is not done testing me, though, and you two will get to meet. He spends some of his school breaks and a couple of weeks in summer here.”
“So you just habitually collect kids to part-time parent?” Peter asked with a small smile and a raised eyebrow.
Tony gaped at Peter as the kid’s deadpan statement registered. “I… don't have a retort to that.

Rosehill Mausoleum, Chicago
The mausoleum features a rotunda with relief panels of the four seasons by Leon Hermant, sculptor
Rosehill Masoleum. Source: Rosehill Cemetery, Dignity Memorial
Background:
Rosehill Cemetery, in northwest Chicago, is the city's largest and oldest cemetery, dating back to 1859, and contains at least 200,000 grave sites in a 350-acre garden setting.
Dedicated in 1914, the cemetery's Rosehill Mausoleum was designed by architect Sidney Lovell, who is interred within. The interior is almost entirely of marble, with the floors composed of Italian Carrara marble. Several later additions would be made to the building; there were six additions made after 1913, and a final one in 1975.
Leon Hermant (1866–1936) was an American sculptor best known for his architectural sculpture. Hermant was born in France, educated in Europe and came to America in 1904 to work on the French Pavilion at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri.
For most of his career he was based in Chicago, working mostly in the American midwest, and frequently with a partner Carl Beil.
From 1904, when they met in St. Louis, until 1927, Hermant and Beil were partners at their Sculpture Studio at 21 East Pearson Street in Chicago. Leon was the Artist, Carl, the "Executioner." Hermant continued his art after Beil's death in 1927, receiving a major commission for the Indiana State Library in 1934. Hermant exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in the 1920s, and would complete many sculptures throughout the U.S. [Chicago Sculpture in the Loop]
In 1928 Hermant was awarded the Légion d'honneur by the French government for his Louis Pasteur Monument in Grant Park, Chicago.
Pasteur Monument, Grant Park, Chicago
In the 1929 Fourth Addition to Rosehill Mausoleum, a marble rotunda features relief panels of the four seasons executed by Hermant, placed between engaged marble columns. Each panel contains a brief quote below, appropriate to the season. Leon Hermant's signature appears on the bottom right of only one panel, Winter.
The yellowish lighting within the rotunda is so dim that photography is difficult, and one strains to appreciate the quality of the sculptures. I'd admired these panels before, but it was thanks to some thorough research by Jim Craig of Under Every Tombstone that I was alerted to their sculptor's identity.

Inscriptions at the base of the four panels:
SPRING
Hail bounteous May, that dost inspire
Mirth, and youth and warm desire
Hill and dale dost boast thy blessing
This we salute thee with our early song
and welcome and wishe thee long.
Milton.
SUMMER
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
…So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
Shakespeare
AUTUMN
There is no death! The stars go down
To rise upon some other shore.
And bright in heaven's jeweled crown
They shine for evermore.
…For all the universe is life…
There are no dead."
Maeterlink
WINTER
When once our heavenly souls shall climb
Then all earthly grossness quit.
Attired with stars we shall forever sit
Triumphing over death and change and thee
O time!
-Milton-

The show is filmed beautifully and features collaborations with landscape architects Fredrick Law Olmsted, Calvert Vaux, Jens Jensen, and Alfred Caldwell. These architects have created small wonders in Jackson Park, Washington Park, Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, and the Caldwell Lily Pool by the Lincoln Park Zoo.
In the show, Baer explores innovative and magnificent places across Chicago's neighborhoods, and meets the creators and enthusiasts who tell the stories of how these places came to be, why they are meaningful to the people who live and work nearby, and why their histories are important.

Muskoka Farm Pre Training
Muskoka Farm is one of the world's most prestigious pre training facilities. The facility has an impressive list of amenities, including a state-of-the-art all weather sand track.
The farm is ideally located, only 90 minutes from Randwick and Rosehill. It also features a 10 large, fully-fenced paddocks and a high speed treadmill. To know more about pre training, visit the Muskoka Farm website or call (02)45663106.
The Namparra-based trainer’s stable will be represented at Gosford by the Animal Kingdom filly Tainted Affair in the Simonds Homes Maiden Handicap and the Shooting To Win gelding Camp Rifle in the Moree Cup. She will also take a chance with the four-year-old mare Balmaceda in the Treasury Wine Estates Conditional Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1900m.
The thoroughbred industry makes a significant contribution to Australia’s economy and supports thousands of jobs. Horse breaking is a crucial component of this industry, preparing racehorses to become comfortable in the bridle and saddle and helping to prevent behavioural problems down the track.
Toby Pracey is a world class horse breaker who uses violence-free methods to prepare racehorses for the track. He has a long list of clients, including Golden Slipper winners. He owns Muskoka Farm, a one-of-a-kind world class spelling and pre training complex located near Gunderman, an hour’s drive inland from Sydney CBD. This 280-acre property offers breaking/pre training, spelling and agistment services and is surrounded by national parks and natural bushland. It features a two-kilometer crusher dust track, 27 day yards and 10 large spelling paddocks, as well as a private jetty/pontoon and helipad.
Located on the Hawkesbury River, Muskoka Farm is one of the world’s leading pre-training facilities. It offers breaking, spelling, and agistment and is home to a 2.4-kilometer crusher dust track and 10 large fenced paddocks. The property also has a large outdoor pool and a private jetty/pontoon.
Founded in the seventies by businessman Bob Lapointe, Muskoka has a rich heritage with Group 1 winners including November Rain, Emancipation, Handy Proverb and Dance Hero. More recently, the Namparra-based establishment has prepped the likes of Redzel and Sebring for international success.
The 280 acre Muskoka Farm is the ideal location for a thoroughbred breeding and training operation. The facility is surrounded by national parks and natural bushland. It has a 24-hour helipad, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and a 2.4-kilometer crusher dust track. Its equine facilities include five stable barns, a two-bedroom guest house, and a private jetty/pontoon. Its specialized care program helps ensure healthy conditioning for horses. This allows them to perform at their peak on race day.

It also has a state of the art all-weather sand track and a large outdoor pool. Jacqueline and Sid work with a team of specialists to ensure healthy conditioning for their horses.
The Thoroughbred industry makes a significant contribution to the Victorian and national economies, with stallion fees and yearling sales providing key contributors. It also supports thousands of jobs in related industries. To know more about pre training, visit the Muskoka Farm website or call (02)45663106.
The Inglis Ready2Race Sale saw six Muskoka lots sell for a combined total of $595,000 at last week’s auction. This is a remarkable result for the Gunderman-based pre-training facility, which was founded in the seventies by Bob and Wendy Lapointe.

Honoring Your Loved Ones: K. Dixon Funerals' Cremation Services with Compassion
Losing a loved one is never easy, and arranging a funeral can be a difficult and emotional process. At K. Dixon Funerals, we understand the importance of saying goodbye to your loved one in a way that is respectful, dignified, and reflective of their life. We offer a comprehensive range of cremation services to help you through this difficult time.
Our services start with the arrival of your loved one, where our compassionate team and Quality funeral directors Doncaster will treat them with the utmost care and respect. From there, we will guide you through the entire process, step by step which is:-
Arrival - Upon arrival at Rosehill Crematorium in Doncaster, mourners will gather in the car park or under the canopy as they wait for the hearse to arrive.
Entering - The coffin is carried or wheeled into the crematorium by either the family or bearers provided by us. It is then placed on a raised platform called a catafalque near the front of the room, so everyone can see it. The mourners will then be escorted to their seating area.
Service - After the funeral director departs, the service will be led by either a vicar, celebrant or a family member or friend, who will oversee the proceedings. This will typically involve the selected songs, hymns, readings, and eulogy that the family has previously chosen.
Committal - After the funeral service at a cremation, the committal marks the moment when the coffin is no longer visible to the mourners. Typically, this is accomplished by drawing a curtain, which differs from a burial where the coffin is typically lowered into the ground.
We understand that the service itself is an important part of the grieving process, and we will work with you to ensure that every detail is taken care of. We take care of necessary arrangements, including transportation and venue selection (Doncaster crematorium). We also offer a range of additional services, such as floral arrangements and memorial books, to help you create a fitting tribute to your loved one. If you are in need of cremation services, please don't hesitate to contact us. Our experienced team is available 24/7 to provide support and guidance during this difficult time. We are here for you when you need us most.

1939 Aerial Photo of the Edgewater area. The lakefront extension and Lake Shore Drive hasn't gotten past Foster Avenue yet. At left of center is Rosehill Cemetery, and to it's east is Senn High School, it's north wing not yet built. To the south of Rosehill is Winnemac Park with Amundsen High and Chappell Elementary. The prominent shadows at the lake front are the towers of the Edgewater Beach Hotel complex. At the upper left is the former Edgewater Golf Club, now Warren Park. At lower right is St Boniface Cemetery, and the Uptown Theater.

Chicago's transit is pretty good for the US (usually 15 min lead times for the subway, occasionally better, and a sensible bus system) but God it could get so much better, so much easier than most cities.
Stick a bus with 95% 7 min lead times during rush hour and weekends, 12 min otherwise operating 24 hours on Ashland from Rosehill cemetery to the Pink Line and either extend Kimball to Jefferson Park, or somehow shuttle between the Blue Line and Kimball, and now you've seriously increased the value of housing stock in safe areas in between the two outgrowths of the recent gentrifications!

The Art of Reflection in New York City’s Nature
by Jillian Kenny, FCRH ‘21
In the busy hustle of New York City, it is easy to get caught up in the day-by-day occurrences and forget the big picture. I am a person who likes to reflect on my actions and continuously improve myself, and sometimes I need some type of nature to help me through. In a big city, this can seem daunting.
I have found a few spots, though, that really provide me with the serenity and peacefulness that I sometimes need. The Botanical Gardens is one of those places. Right across from the Rose Hill campus, this huge haven for all sorts of nature has become a top spot for walking and reflecting. The Rose Garden is one of my personal favorite stops for its beauty and charm. The whole grounds can be awe-inspiring and wonderful, so I would not hesitate to come here to think, or even get some homework done.
Another reflective spot that I love is Central Park. One of the best parts of Fordham University is our access to Manhattan. I am currently taking a course at Lincoln Center as a Rose Hill student, and this past week my friend and I decided to take the Ram Van into the city early (free intercampus transportation for students with class on both campuses!).
We walked around Central Park in the warmth of early autumn. We walked to Strawberry Fields, the area honoring John Lennon. As a huge Beatles fan, it is so fascinating to walk through this memorial and think of how John Lennon had once walked the same streets that I walk now. The whole park is incredibly scenic and refreshing - it is like a breath of fresh air right in the middle of the city. It’s one of my favorite places to go and reflect, and it’s only a few blocks away from the Fordham Lincoln Center campus.
Aside from these two places, there are endless pockets of peace within the city that you can explore. There is never a shortage of places to find some remnants of nature. The options are endless when it comes to New York - everything is only a subway ride away.

Nacional redevelops with state-of-the-art multi-million peso center set to redefine memorial services for Filipino families
Nacional, one of the pioneering names in the Philippines’ memorial services industry, has opened the doors to its new state-of-the-art building on its old location along Araneta Avenue in Quezon City. The institution has been around since 1900 but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at its newly-built building. Along with it a change in name from Nacional Memorial Homes to Nacional Chapels and…

Grandrapits
Hello everyone,
This is the last of my build a hood master posts. The city that started it all: Grandrapits!
Youve seen me share these lots one by one for the past 2 years and I finally decided on the district names so I can share the map with you! I built this neighbourhood to play with the sims I created. I guess it’s also called build a hood challenge, or something similar. I’m not up to the lingo but I wasn’t really building or playing it as a challenge. This all started when I found myself bored with the premade hoods and when I found the pooklet method of creating new sims.
Anyway, enough history lesson. I’m sharing this hood and the district names with where every lot is placed in case if you also want to create your own hoods but don’t want to create buildings for them. I used the similarly named, because I’m so creative with naming, Grandrapits map from Modthesims made by Suhina-Lempi.
More info is under the cut!
Here are the names of the districts. Each district has a distinct architectural style. New Beginnings and Downtown uses the “industrial loft turned residential space”, Silverpine is “suburbia with somewhat modern houses” and New Haven is going to be ”tropical”.
I, of course, have plans for more lots. I’m only on second generation so there are no distinctly rich households yet. I’m planning on creating rich household district in Goldenhills, beach tropical ones in Butterfly Cove and small, cheap apartments in Downtown. (I’m also thinking of making a one big apartment lot with apartments for 3 people each -like starting the founders with roommates- and 4 or 5 apartments in total for a mega starter apartment on that empty square in New Beginnings but we’ll see.)
New Beginnings is where my sims have started their journey, all of the founders have now moved to Silverpine and the first kids are almost off to university. Which made me get side tracked and start building a university hood for them called Evergreen Institute of Technology. Some of you may have come across its master post. At the time I’m typing this post my game is giving me a lot of grief like missing nightlife clothes and random crashing which kind of made me lose my enthusiasm for building more. I had to completely reinstall the game and decided to rebuild my downloads folder which is taking a lot of time. But I digress, let’s take a closer look at the lots and districts:
This is the part of the town I spent the most time in. Here we see New Beginnings and Downtown districts. Here is the list of the lots and their respective links:
Grandrapits Apartments
Grandrapits Town Houses
Grandrapits Twin Condos
Grandrapits Social Housing
The Warehouse
Grandrapits Central Park
Grandrapits Mall
The Static
Founder’s Restaurant
This is New Haven. I have plans for a bar and a restaurant across the beach but still haven’t gotten around to building them. Here is the one lot there so far:
Haven Beach
This is Rosehills. At the moment it has pet and human cemeteries. If I have ideas for theme appropriate lots I may build more. Links:
Grandrapits Cemetery
Grandrapits Pet Cemetery
And so far the last district I’ve been working on Silverpine. The suburbia of the founders. Here is the link to their lots:
5 Founder’s Avenue
10 Founder’s Avenue
15 Founder’s Avenue
20 Founder’s Avenue
25 Founder’s Avenue
30 Founder’s Avenue
Maybe in the future when I feel like the hood is complete enough I’ll release a neighbourhood I just don’t know how to go about doing that with all the cc in these buildings. Until then though, if you want to recreate or just use a lot you need you can refer to this and 3 other neighbourhoods linked in my tumblr.
