There was apparently a radio show starting jessie and jame?

YAAAA Roketto dan Himitsu Teikoku!! It's a radio show that they aired while BW was airing (because team rocket was very serious in that series and the seiyuu missed voicing silly team rocket). I own the Jessie CD but there's a James and Meowth one!

It was fun variety show! One of my favorite segments is where they would have to draw pokemon or "themselves" from memory. This is a drawing I did of their drawings (there's a link to the clip in the post)

One of my favorite clips is them doing the drawing game where they do Pokémon Pictionary where they're supposed to draw Pokémon but Jessie just draws herself LOL (timecode: 21:50)

It's so charming ;0; Jessie's seiyuu has the hardest time staying in character since she seems like such a nice person and Jessie,,, is not. So it's really cute to hear a very happy and giggly Jessie hahaha.

The radio show also gave us this INCREDIBLY dramatic and rocketshippy radio play where Jessie and James are working in a space station but Jessie gets caught under rubble and James tries to save her (but Jessie DIES????). God it's so fucking good. This is my little drawing + translation of the play I posted!

If you know Japanese I highly recommend listening. It's a great time!

(This was regarding the subtitles for Roketto Dan! Ai to Seishun no Genten being available on nyaa.si if someone has not yet seen that hoso special/Side Story in Japanese and only knows the [heavily rewritten and inaccurately dubbed] Training Daze episode of Pokemon Chronicles. : D)

Udeppo/Clauncher's episode (the second episode of Mezase Pokemon Master) and the Takeshi and Dent and the Forest Witch! from the same final stretch of episodes are also fun for those darker themes mixed with zany antics--nostalgic OS air. ^_^

"Pokemon are highly sentient and enjoy battling for honour and sport, yet also choose their trainers nearly as much as their trainers choose them" and "some people can and genuinely do eat Pokemon" and "Team Rocket wants to rip the claw off a living Pokemon and eat it" all as plot points in the same episode, wiiild.

Watching the Roketto dan vs Skull dan episode again and godddd what a good episode

Team Rocket beefing with kids/teens will always be funny. ALSO the Tuppa, Rappu and Zippu all read as teens to me. Like older than Ash and friends but still kids. It's so clear that Jessie and James are adults when you compare them. Like they're so much bigger LMAO

Still obsessed with how Jessie is just constantly carrying Meowth for a large part of the episode it's so cute. Meowth and James are usually a unit so it's really sweet to see Jessie caring for Meowth (and also getting mad when Rappu would try to hold him)

James jumping in and saving Meowth and Jessie for a Pokémon attack!!! I feel like people have a tendency to baby James or make him out to be very wimpy, and he maybe kinda was in earlier seasons but I feel like they did away with that in like,,, DP. He's a lot more of a protector and active character nowadays

Jessie and James seeing Meowth losing a fight and sacrificing the Z crystal to go save him!!! I love whenever their friendship gets to shine

Do the writers have like an in joke that James has a thing for smells? The way that they just drop the info in the journey's ditto episode that he smells his own shoes to calm down or whatever was so specific but like.... I dunno.

Sun and Moon was such a good series for Team Rocket mannnn

Jessie’s Latin American voice actor passed away yesterday.

I’ve been hearing her amazing performance for well over 20 years now. I’m going to truly miss her.
