THIS AU IS NOT DEAD. It just took me a bit between life stuff and other art projects and the fact I wanted to get all Star Command related drawings together.

I don't have a lot of lore to infodump other than exploring armor designs for Star Command rangers, especially for the more unique looking suits we saw in the show. As well as showing off the rank symbols on the armor so everyone knows what each one is which.

25th black character of the month is Rocket Crockett from Buzz Lightyear of Star Comman

He is a Space Ranger and one of Buzz's friends! He is voiced by Phil Lamarr (who also voiced TFA Jazz!)

Nuclear Inktober #8: W54 SADM (Special Atomic Destruction Munition)

Can be carried in a backpack by a single soldier. Some NATO nations are trained to use SADM. No new ADMs are known to be in research and development at this time. - databook babadook

Here you go, weighing in at under 163 pounds and vaguely breadbox-sized, someone can carry this in a backpack. If they really want to. This is the type of nuclear warhead that terrorists would be likely to try to hijack--movies always show them taking something that's mounted on a rocket, but those things can't be carried by one human. This thing is much more likely to become a "broken arrow." And hey, about that...

The warhead inside this suitcase, W54, previously starred in the DAVY CROCKETT rocket which starred in the 3rd entry in Nuclear Inktober, and which also turns out to have starred in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, where it is...stolen by soviet separitists! The game is set in 1964 and that is a year after the Davy Crockett was in production, though I'm not sure if I'd call it "experimental" at the time as it was already deployed by that year. It's cool to see it in pretend action! (Where it belongs.)

Back to reality: in 1983 approximately 300 of the W54 SADMs were deployed in the United States, Italy, West Germany, and South Korea. By that point, they were already about 20 years old. I do not know when or if they were retired. Since the warheads can be put into different casings and used in different forms, "retirement" has a different definition here. It seems we Americans have a knack for reusing weaponized nuclear waste.

Sweet Umbra and Rocket lore. This fake screenshot is one of the moments they had to work together despite being on different sides, but Umbra is still not reallyyyyy happy to see Rocket.

Long story short: they used to be best friends until an incident that led Rocket to believe Umbra died when she didn't. 20 years later she has a lot of negative feelings towards him and their old friends. Meanwhile he feels horrendously guilty and is trying to convince her to stop working for Zurg.
