From the written evidence of secondary sources and maps on the maps.nls and Scotlandspeople websites by Meryl Marshall Background In the years before the 18th Century the Highlands were regarded as a hostile backward country, travelling was difficult, there were few visitors and many journeys were made by boat. Robert Taylor as Geoff Walters in The Newsreader’s Season One! ❤️🌟🤴🏼📰
.
.
Geoff Walters has been reading the news for News At Six since television arrived in Melbourne in 1956, as we learnt in his speech! In 1986, he was marking thirty years on air, and was significant in building the News At Six brand. Over those three decades he became a major household name, to the point he could not walk busy streets as the public love for him was so fierce. Considering that he was one of the faces to break television broadcasting into the public consciousness, it is warranted fanfare!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One newsreader from the time you could draw many similarities to Geoff from was Sir Eric Pearce. Sir Pearce was born in England in 1905, and was a broadcaster on radio. He moved to Australia in 1938, and continued his radio career until in 1956, when he joined HSV-7 Melbourne as a newsreader and game show presenter. In the late 1950s, Channel Nine offered him a position of chief newsreader, and officially retired from the newsreader position in 1978, but stayed in directorial positions behind the scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Geoff, the 1980s saw some health challenges for Sir Pearce. According to the New Idea from the 17/09/1988, Sir Pearce was in recovery from recent heart surgery, and like Geoff, he found the recovery process frustratingly slow. He did not like how reliant he was on others or the fact he couldn’t go to work, and the fact that regular everyday things he had been doing for years were now tiring. “I’m being bullied into a reliance on others - a situation I do not enjoy and one I hope I won’t have to endure for too much longer,” he told New Idea. At the time, he was 83 years old, quite a bit older than Geoff’s heart attack at age 60. It’s sad for Geoff when you think about it, really. His body had aged before his mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sir Pearce died in a nursing home in Malvern, Victoria in 1997, at the age of 92, going on to live for nine more years. What an incredible long life this pioneer of Australian television news had lived, and it seems such a shame that Geoff won’t quite be reaching that grand age, not from what we’ve seen in Season Three, anyway. Looks like some of us aren’t meant to be here for a long time 💔

Since its initial publication in 1978, The Stand has been considered Stephen King’s seminal masterpiece of apocalyptic fiction, with millions of copies sold and adapted twice for television. Although there are other extraordinary works exploring the unraveling of human society, none have been as influential as this iconic novel—generations of writers have been impacted by its dark yet ultimately hopeful vision of the end and new beginning of civilization, and its stunning array of characters. Now for the first time, Stephen King has fully authorized a return to the harrowing world of The Stand through this original short story anthology as presented by award-winning authors and editors Christopher Golden and Brian Keene. Bringing together some of today’s greatest and most visionary writers, The End of the World As We Know It features unforgettable, all-new stories set during and after (and some perhaps long after) the events of The Stand—brilliant, terrifying, and painfully human tales that will resonate with readers everywhere as an essential companion to the classic, bestselling novel.

Mariquita Tennant (born Maria Francesca Eroles i Eroles) was a Catalan woman who protected abused and poor women in Windsor (England).
How did she end up in England?
Mariquita was born in the village Pla de Sant Tirs, in the High Pyrenees of Catalonia. During the war between those who wanted an absolutist monarchy and the liberals, Mariquita's father was involved in the liberal side and between 1821 and 1823 he was the leader the local miquelets (militia). When the King of France sent the army known as the Hundred Thousand Sons of Saint Louis to help restore the absolute monarchy, many liberals went on exile to England. Mariquita followed her father, mother and three siblings on exile to London.
They settled in Somers Town, a neighbourhood that had become home to many exiles from Catalonia and the Valencian Country and that had previously also become home to exiled French revolutionaries and American independentists. In February 1833, Mariquita married David Reid, son of a Scottish beer maker who had become wealthy running a pub chain in England. But in November of the same year, David threw himself down a window during an epileptic attack, resulting in his death. Soon after, Mariquita's first and last daughter Mary was born, but she also died soon. Some years later, Mariquita married again. Her new husband was Robert Tennant, but he died a sudden death in 1842.
In 1846, at 38 years old, her first husband's family allowed her to live in one of their properties. She turned this house into a shelter for girls who had been abused by society. There were many girls and women in this situation, so the house was full very soon. Quickly, Mariquita looked for funds and allied with the Anglican church to create a local branch of the House of Mercy. In 50 years, this institution attended and housed 2,500 girls in Windsor, many of which were girls who had been forced into prostitution by poverty and until then had had no way to escape.

The house that Mariquita's first husband's family let her live in, and which she turned into a shelter.
Mariquita suffered bad health for most of her years of service, and in the end died in 1860. She's buried in Saint Andrew's cemetery, overlooking the house she turned into a shelter.
In 2005, the Windsor and Maidenhead city council uncovered a blue plaque to remember her (in England, blue plaques mark the place where a historical event happened or recognise a historical person), though there's a small mistake because it says she was born in 1811 but she was actually born on November 9th 1807.
She's the only Catalan person to have an English blue plaque.

The Pirate Queen
Chapter 3 - The Ball
Tumblr media
If anyone ever said pirates weren’t efficient, they should be told the tale of Alice and her crew getting ready to host a ball for a new Commodore.
Hiding anything suspicious was the easy part. The locked extra pantry was plenty enough to stow away any of the papers they needed to keep from prying eyes. Their gear was locked into trunks in their personal rooms.
What wasn’t easy was shelling out the money for caterers and extra servants to make the night perfect. While they had the money, Alice had made a fortune sailing with Sam Bellamy and then even more in her exploits, they all hated spending it on posh pricks who would more likely give them a bullet than the time of day under normal circumstances.
Most pirates on ships had duel roles. Everyone chipped in, and just like on a ship, the men dove head first into getting ready.
By the time the night arrived everything was absolutely perfect.
Three of the men would be carefully and quietly sneaking into the Fort while the rest of the town partied at the mansion, courtesy of Vicountess Somers. Their goal was it make it seem like no one have ever been there. They didn’t want to get captured, and they didn’t want to have to kill. Alice and her crew took a page from Sam Bellamy - they didn’t kill if they didn’t have to.
The men left before the extra servants arrived for the night, and Alice went upstairs to get ready. Edward stayed at the mansion, her even present bodyguard.
When he knocked at the door to her room to let her know guests arrived, he couldn’t help but smile.
“You may not be a noble, but you wear the outfits quite well.” She turned to look at him with a smile on her face.
“Let’s be honest, I look better in trousers and my jacket.”
He motioned to her dress. “I see you’ve picked your signature color.” The red dress was her most fashionable. Bright red, matching the bow weaved intricately through her hair. Instead of an updo, she wore her hair down. The black hair fanned across the red dress she had commissioned to match that bow. The dress itself was more old fashioned than she had been wearing and the corset fit just perfectly. There were no color accents except around the sleeves and chest, and was intricately woven with gold and red fabric.
“Well, I wanted to stay partly me.”
“I wish Sam could see this.” Edward said and Alice took a calming breath.
“Me too.”
“Where should I wait during dinner?”
“You’ll be next to me.” Alice said simply and Edward raised his eyebrows.
“I don’t think it’s proper to have your bodyguard sitting at dinner. Robert would faint.”
Alice laughed. “Tonight is our last night with these people. I don’t particularly care what they think and they’re not going to question a noble.”
“Sounds good, Captain.” Edward was dressed in mostly black, fine quality that most would expect of a bodyguard. “People are going to be arriving soon.”
“Alright, let’s get ready to play our parts.” She effortlessly switched into her posh accent.
There were murmurs throughout the party. The red was certainly making some heads turn. When Governor Swann and Elizabeth arrived Alice was there to greet them.
“Lady Frances, you look marvelous!” Elizabeth said with a smile. They two women held hands for a moment.
“As do you, Elizabeth.” Her dress was a light blue which paired with her quite well. Her hair had been curled delicately and put in an updo worthy of a coronation, she was sure of it.
“That is such a stunning color.” Governor Swann started. “You stand out, in the best way.”
“Thank you, Governor.” Alice replied, trying her best not to smirk. “I felt it was appropriate since the ball is on behalf of a member of the Navy. Navy blues seemed a bit too pompous, don’t you agree?”
Governor Swann searched for something to say as Elizabeth politely held her laugh behind her fan. “You look absolutely wonderful, Lady Frances.” He finally said. Safe, complimentary.
“Thank you, Governor.” From behind him she caught the eyes of James. “Please excuse me, sir. I want to wish the man of the night my congratulations.” As she made her way over, James couldn’t seem to even think. She was beautiful. James was in his Navy dress. An outfit that should send Alice’s anxiety shooting upward. Yet, she was sure she had never seen a man so handsome.
“Captain Norrington.” She curtsied and he bowed back. Alice knew that there couldn’t be a repeat of the night of the dinner. The best thing would be to treat James Norrington with civility and step away as quickly as she could.
“Thank you for your generosity with this night.” He started. “And, if I may say, you look absolutely beautiful, Lady Frances.”
“Thank you, Captain. It is a pleasure to celebrate you.” James could tell she was being more formal, putting more of a guard up. He had no right to wish for something different. To wish anything different was downright improper. “Please, enjoy yourself.” She curtsied again and turned to greet her other guests. The bow going through her raven hair caught his eye and something stirred in his memory. Just for one second a moment of fear crept into his mind, but he couldn’t, for the life of him, understand why.
As everyone made their way into the dining room, there were whispers at the fact that while Lady Frances sat at the head of the table, her own bodyguard was to her right. To her left was Governor Swann, beside him Elizabeth, and James was surprised to find himself placed next to her.
Once everyone was seated Lady Frances stood.
“Good evening. I hope you are all enjoying yourselves.” There was some murmurs of approval. “Tonight we are here to celebrate Captain James Norrington, who will not be called Captain in twenty-four hours. Now, I have only known Captain Norrington for a few short days. I could regale you all with the kindness and character he has shown me. However, I wanted someone who knows him more, who served with him, to speak here tonight. Lieutenant Groves, if you would please?”
A few seats down from Edward, Groves stood, and Alice took her seat. She knew her brain would betray her if she was forced to give a speech about James. She could hardly talk about how handsome he looks in the moonlight. She was supposed to be married. More than that, it was about to be James’ job to be in charge of hunting her and the people she cared about. The thought soured her mood considerably. More so when she realized she shouldn’t even be thinking about James Norrington. She should be wondering how we men were doing at the fort. By the time she came back into focus, Groves had finished his speech and she held up her glass in a toast before the first course.
Once the food was cleared and the band had begun to play, Alice whispered to Edward to go and be on the lookout for the returning men. The hope was they would be back quickly and efficiently. One of her men named Simon had offered to help in the kitchen. He had been a chef back in Ireland and then became the chef for her crew, and he would be waiting to move any papers to the locked pantry.
“My dear Lady Frances.” Governor Swann said as he walked up to her. “Would you honor me with a dance?” He held out his hand and she took it immediately.
“It would be a pleasure.” They danced to a lively tune. The laughter around the floor told her everyone seemed to be having a great time. She made sure they had enough stock of wine to last them, and making sure everyone was good and drunk could only help her in the long run.
As the Governor turned her she caught a glimpse of James who was dancing with Elizabeth. He was smiling, she was laughing. Alice felt a pang of jealousy go through her, but she quickly pushed that away. Any thoughts about her and James Norrington needed to stop at that moment. And, more than that, she knew he would make a great husband to Elizabeth. He was kind and gentle. When he showed emotion it was sincere. In the first night she had watched his eyes flicker to Elizabeth which such adoration. Alice knew she would be taken care of and loved. She couldn’t ask for more than that from two wonderful people.
The dance came to a close and there was a small round of applause. “Thank you for the wonderful dance, Governor.” He bowed. “If you would excuse me?”
“Of course.” He beamed. His cheeks were red from several glasses of wine and Alice found herself thinking that wasn’t a bad idea. Find a servant with the wine she took a glass for herself. When she turned back to the party she was surprised to see James walking toward her.
“Lady Frances.”
“Captain Norrington.” She acknowledged. “Are you having a good time?”
“I am, thank you.” He promised. “I came to ask if you would honor me with a dance.” She couldn’t say no. Maybe it was knowing that after tomorrow she would, hopefully, never see him again.
“I would be delighted-“ She was interrupted by Edward.
“I am terribly sorry, my Lady.” He bowed.
“What is it, Edward?” She asked.
“May I speak with you, privately?”
Her eyes turned to James. “My apologies, Captain.” She and Edward turned, heading for another room. James couldn’t pretend he wasn’t disappointed.
The study was a place she had wanted to spend more time in, if they had the time. It was dark wood with books lining the walls. Giles stood outside on guard to make sure no one came within earshot as Edward closed the door behind them.
“Is everyone alright?” Was her first question.
“Yes, everyone made it back safely.” Alice let out a sigh of relief. “They were in and out quickly, no one saw them. It’s what they found that’s concerning.”
“What did they find?” Alice asked.
“A list of spies for the Royal Navy and where they are located. Some are on Tortuga.” Her jaw clenched. “There’s also a few pirate havens that they know about. I think your Captain Norrington intends to go raid them after his promotion is made official.”
“Go, get Robert, will you?” She asked and Edward gave a quick nod before leaving. They would have a head start on anything Norrington had planned, which was key. She sat in silence for a few moments. If her mind wandered too far, she could almost feel tears threatening to spill. So, she pushed them down. Edward and Robert came back in a few minutes.
“Captain.” Robert acknowledged.
“I need you to get to the docs and get first passage that you can. You have to get to Tortuga as quickly as possible.” She put her hand on his shoulder. “Hopefully those pirate havens can be cleared out before the Royal Navy gets their hands on anyone. And make sure the right people in Tortuga know the names of the spies.”
“You can count on me Captain.”
“When you get to Tortuga send someone for us. We’ll want to leave late tomorrow night.”
“I will.”
“The winds be with you, Robert.” She shook his hand and he headed back out the door.
“What’s the plan?” Edward asked.
“Tomorrow, after the ceremony,” Alice started. “We will spend the day carefully packing, not drawing any attention. Once night falls we will gather everything up. We can’t leave a trace of us behind. Not a single piece of clothing.”
“Understood, Captain.”
“We will leave an urgent note with the Swann’s. My husband has taken ill and we were quickly recalled to England.”
“Will they believe it?” Edward asked.
Alice shrugged. “Once we’re back on the seas, it won’t matter.”
“I’ll start telling the men.” He said and she let out a soft sigh. “You should get back out there. The hostess will be missed.”
Alice seemed to clench her jaw. “I can do this for one more day.” He nodded before opening the door for her.

Sherri Martel : The Life A Sensational Woman
Since I have a Women’s Wrestling theme going on here on my blog for Women’s History Month , I wanted to write a biography on a legendary woman who went from wrestler to manager , Sherri Martel.
‘Sensational/Sister ’ Sherri Martel ( Sherri Russell-Schrull) a wrestler and a manager. She was born on February 8, 1959 in Birmingham, Alabama. As a child , Sherri’s mother took her and her sister to wrestling shows in Mississippi. However , her mother would ask them if they wanted to go watch wrestling or go ice skating , therefore , Sherri and her sister would choose wrestling . This would spark her interest into wanting to get into the wrestling business. Therefore , in 1974, Sherri would approach Grizzly Smith, the father of Jake ‘ The Snake ’ Roberts , asking him for advice on how to become a pro wrestler. He would tell her to come back to him in 1980, when she was older . She would soon become a mother to a son , Jared, and marry her second husband . Thus , after divorcing her husband, she would be interested in becoming a wrestler again.
Martel would travel to Memphis , Tennessee to train under ‘ Mr. Personality’ Butch Moore , nevertheless, she thought that she needed to further her wrestling training and went to train under veteran wrestler , The Fabulous Moolah. She would start her career under the name , Sherri Martine , thus , after training under Moolah , Moolah would give her the name , Sherri Martel. She would also be sent to Japan by Moolah to wrestle in 1981. Moolah would also state that Sherri loved to party , which led her to expel her from her wrestling school. Martel would make her way back to Memphis and gain a manager , James E. Cornette ( Jim Cornette) . During a battle royal , she would be injured and sidelined from the ring temporarily. She would find herself working as a manager for Tom Pritchard and Pat Rose as well as working for them as a wrestler.
In 1985, Martel would debut in the American Wrestling Association, with the help of Larry Zbyszko. She would also become AWA World Women’s Champion after defeating Candi Devine at ‘ SuperClash ’. Devine would be her main rival in the promotion. Thus , after vacating the championship, she would be a manager for Buddy Rose and Doug Somers . She would lead them to winning the AWA World Championship, and they would feud with The Midnight Rockers , Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty . Martel would manage Michaels in the future in the WWF/E. Two years later , in 1987 , Martel would debut in the World Wrestling Federation , due to former AWA talent , Jesse ‘ The Body ’ Ventura , telling WWF Chairman and Owner , Vince McMahon , about her . She would change her name again , to Sensational Sherri. Her debut match would be on July 24,1987 would be for the WWF Women’s Championship against her former trainer , The Fabulous Moolah. Sherri would become victorious, and the new WWF Women’s Champion. She would be the champion for a year and three months , before losing it to Rockin’ Robin in the Fall of 1988 in Paris , France. She would also lead a team at the 1987 ‘ Survivor Series ’ Pay-Per-View. In 1990, the WWF would disband the women’s division , leaving Sherri to transition from a role as a wrestler to a full time manager .
As a manager in the WWF , Sherri would become the new manager for ‘ Macho Man ’ Randy Savage , who recently turned Heel against Miss Elizabeth and Hulk Hogan. This happened in 1989. The two would feud with Hogan and Elizabeth throughout the year. At ‘ Summerslam ’ , Miss Elizabeth would get her revenge on Sherri when she knocked her out with her own purse , and would help Hogan , and Brutus ‘ The Barber ’ Beefcake cut her hair after Hogan and Beefcake were victorious against Randy Savage and Zeus. Sherri would also be known as ‘ Queen Sherri ’ after Savage won the ‘ King of The Ring ’ tournament. The duo would part ways at WrestleMania 7 in 1991 , after Savage would lose a ‘ retirement match ’ against his rival , The Ultimate Warrior. The stipulation for that match was for the loser to ‘ retire ’. Sherri would attack Savage after the match , with Miss Elizabeth coming from the audience to save him . During the show , she would come to the aide of ‘ The Million Dollar Man ’ Ted DiBiase , as he attacked Roddy Piper . She would be his manager until 1992. She would manage Shawn Michaels in 1992 and would be the center of attention for his match against ‘ The Model ’ Rick Martel at ‘ Summerslam ’ in 1992 . Both men would be fighting over her in a Heel vs Heel match , which is considered taboo. The match ended a double count out after Martel and Michaels would come to her aide after she fainted. Thus, before a match , Michaels’ former tag team partner , Marty Jannetty, would attempt to hit him with a mirror. Michaels would put Sherri in front of him and let her be hit with it . She would be off WWF programming until the 1993 Royal Rumble . After this storyline , she would manage Tatanka . She would be released from the WWF in 1993 due to failed drug tests and her decision to take cosmetology courses.
She would reunite with Randy Savage in the USWA in 1993 as well as have a brief run in Jim Cornette’s promotion , Smoky Mountain Wrestling . She would have matches with him , and partner with Tracy Smothers in a rivalry against Brian Lee and Tammy Sytch ( also known as Sunny ). She would also manage Shane Douglas in 1993 in ECW. In 1994, she would be signed to World Championship Wrestling ( WCW ) , under the name , Sensuous Sherri. She stated that her goal as a manager would be to find a man who would bring her the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. She would manage Ric Flair and Harlem Heat ( Booker T and Stevie Ray ). Therefore , she would lead Harlem Heat to seven reigns as WCW World Tag Team Championship reigns . She would make a return to ECW in late 1994 as she was managing her team in WCW . She would also make three WCW TV appearances in 2000s. She would have matches with Madusa ( Alundra Blayze ) and Mona ( Molly Holly ).
Sherri would continue to make appearances on the Independent Wrestling Circuit before making an appearance on WWE TV in 2005 as a part of the storyline involving her former client , Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. She would sing Michaels’ theme song with Angle . In 2006, she would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by her former client , Ted DiBiase , in 2006. The same year , she would tape a vignette for TNA Wrestling to offer her services as a manager to Bobby Roode. This would be her last TV appearance.
Sensational Sherri died on June 15,2007 at the age of 49. On April 23,2024 , an episode of the fifth season of the popular Vice TV series , ‘ Dark Side of The Ring ’ , would do an episode about her .
Sherri would be the first woman to hold both the AWA World Women’s Championship and the WWF/E Women’s Championship. She was also the original singer of Shawn Michaels’ theme song , ‘ Sexy Boy ’. She would also be the face behind , Peggy Sue , a groupie/biggest fan of The Honky Tonk Man . With blonde hair , sunglasses, 1950s poodle skirt and makeup , it was hard to tell that Peggy Sue was Sherri. She would also make her way to the ring dancing . During Honky Tonk Man’s matches , she could be seen standing ringside alongside his manager , Jimmy Hart. She was also one of the first women to take a bump from a male wrestler.
My Final Thoughts:
Sensational Sherri had one hell of a storied career. She was a history maker and a trailblazer. This biography was a lot of fun to write and research. I also learned a lot more about her than I already knew . - Kay

Also he’s a bit sly) Thomas Macdonough: Northern Cardinal (absolutely for religious reasons) Daniel Todd Patterson: Chipmunk (adorable and resourceful)
Major side characters under cut
John Rodgers: Wild cat (Edward Preble’s rival)
James Barron: White tailed deer (Stephen Decatur’s complicated Virginian acquaintance. Look up the scientific name)
Oliver Hazard Perry: Osprey (let’s face it, a cool bird of prey)
Samuel Evans: Fruit bat (don’t believe them when they say Evans was bat shit crazy)
Johnston Blakeley: Magpie (I originally thought he was a “Preble’s Boy” but found out he never served with Preble but with Rodgers.)
William M. Crane: You guessed it (Lewis Warrington’s mildly annoying brother in law. A Preble’s Boy but for a crane symbolizing good fortune, bro has the opposite of that.)
Washington Irving: Coyote (David Porter’s smart ass bestie)
Charles Morris: Iguana (not a cold blooded reptile; just observant and no nonsense)
Richard Somers: Poodle (there was puppy love once upon a time)
John and Robert Henley: Eagles solely for “The Eagles” joke (Don Henley) “Preble’s Boys” and Martha Washington’s nephews. *I’m convinced they knew Lewis Warrington since all three grew up in Williamsburg VA. HC all three attended William and Mary together but the brothers aren’t exactly friends with Warrington; more like coldly polite. Lewis Warrington had somewhat of a rough time growing up since his mother wasn’t married when she had him and the townspeople looked down on her even before him.*

F.A.Q. The End Of The World As We Know It: Tales From Stephen King’s The Stand
What follows are the Frequently Asked Questions for THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT: TALES OF STEPHEN KING’S THE STAND — a forthcoming anthology edited by myself and Christopher Golden. Please bookmark this page and check back from time to time, as I will update things as they develop.
Q: What is this, exactly?
A: An original short story anthology based on master storyteller Stephen King’s #1 New York Times bestselling classic The Stand!

Andersson begins with posthumous myth, as found in the anonymous 1637 jest book A Pleasant History of the Life and Death of Will Summers, for example. (The revised name was probably the work of Thomas Nashe for his 1592 play Summer’s Last Will and Testament, in which the ghost of ‘Will Summers’ comments on the action.) From there Andersson works backwards, circling the evidence until he arrives back at the man himself.
The approach has much to recommend it, not least because our idea of the fool is indelibly shaped by those in Shakespeare, and in particular the fool in King Lear. Shakespeare wrote that part for Robert Armin, who also originated the roles of Feste and Touchstone. Armin wasn’t merely an actor, however; his book Foole Upon Foole (1600) studied the lives and natures of six fools, Somer among them.

DIANE TAIT, THE PEARL OF MANCHESTER. She has everything: beauty, intellect, money, influence... Those are few of the many traits that made the Tait family oh-so enticing, headed by none other than Robert Tait, Tait and Somer LDT’s director and former War hero. This well-off background suffices to secure the young brunette’s future: a successful marriage, a rich inheritance and a profusion of great connections. If you think about it, this could make a great film—if only Frank Capra were there to add a comic twist before directing it.
THE AVID MOVIE-GOER AND READER that Diane is knows it, no story can be immune to hindrances. As a matter of fact, her life holds troubles of its own: Harry Chase, her soon-to-be fiancé’s lack of commitment challenges the prospects of an eventual marriage and the rumors of her designation at the head of the factory already provokes a wave of hostilities. If living in this gilded cage becomes unbearable at times, escapism is exactly what Diane craves for, whether it's through fiction or reality.
WHAT DIANE DOESN'T EXPECT IS her satisfaction to find its source in an unlikely place, buried in the ocean eyes of the Bennett boy. More than just reflecting an inspiring raw truthfulness and a burning free spirit that almost consumes his notorious waywardness, they tell a captivating story—one tumultuous and chaotic yet tender and poetic, one she has never read before but soulfully desires to.
