(20) starlight
title: light the way
fandom: a song of ice and fire
word count: 2k
synopsis: the fall of a king, and the rise of a queen. as the warmth of the reach meets the cold north, ice dances with fire
LANNA
The Reach stretched wide with promise, embracing Lanna like a long-lost daughter. Flowers bloomed at her feet, bright as jewels against the rich earth. The warm air was rich with fragrances and carried the sound of distant chimes and birds. Willasโ hand felt secure around her own, and she leaned into his gentle strength as they moved beneath a canopy of swaying branches. How strange to walk these paths as a woman who belonged, her future a sunlit expanse rather than a narrow track through shadow.ย
Willas tugged her gently toward a fountain, where the cool, clear water bubbled up, and a pleasant breeze stirred the leaves. Lanna inhaled the sweet air, filled with the scent of budding roses and the promises of early summer. After so many years of being tethered to other peopleโs ambitions, each step now felt impossibly light. She marvelled at the difference - what it was like to walk this way and know it was right. Happiness, it turned out, was a strange and heady feeling. The very idea of it set her laughing.ย
โWhat is so amusing?โ Willas asked, grinning as he stopped to admire the flush in her cheeks.ย
โEverything, I suppose,โ she replied, smiling at him as he slipped a wildflower behind her ear. She tucked her arm through his and held tight, feeling the solid warmth of him next to her.ย
Their steps fell in easy rhythm along the gardenโs pathways, winding beneath arches of flowering vines. โPerhaps you could narrow it down a little,โ Willas said. โThe ladyโs thoughts are a mystery to me.โ
โHardly that,โ Lanna countered, โespecially if you believe what your sister says.โ
Willas shook his head in mock dismay. โThere's always a bit of truth in gossip,โ he teased. โWhich makes me wonder how you really feel about this plan of mine.โ
The playfulness in his voice, the way he leaned into her as they walked - it all felt wonderfully familiar, and Lanna loved him for it. She breathed in the air, fragrant with possibility. โYour library, you mean? Or something else?โ
โPerhaps everything,โ he replied, echoing her earlier words, โbut mainly the library. I can't build it without your approval.โ
Lanna had been sure of so little, once. She laughed at how absurd it was to imagine this life only a few months ago. "You mean you won't build it,โ she corrected, feigning sternness.ย
โWon't,โ he agreed, pulling her close. โNot until I have your advice.โ
Willas stopped beside a bench under an old tree, and Lanna touched its bark as she sat down. Gold and silver leaves whispered gently in the breeze, and her thoughts turned with them. She remembered when everything had seemed uncertain, a girl in a family always wanting more. How far she had come. How she had grown. As Willas joined her, she was thankful to feel rooted in this new soil, more alive than she had ever dreamed.ย
A servant came quietly across the grass, holding a letter. โA raven from your father, my lady,โ he said, bowing as he handed it to her.ย
Lanna turned it over in her hands, the paper fine and the seal unbroken. She paused, the moment like a memory from another life. This time, though, it was different. She was different. โShould I open it now, do you think?โ she asked, looking to Willas for reassurance.ย
โOf course,โ he said, eyes twinkling. โHe's probably offered you advice about the library as well.โ
โThen I had best read it.โ She laughed as she broke the seal and unfolded the letter, holding it to catch the last light of the setting sun. As she scanned her father's careful script, warmth spread through her. โCongratulations, Lanna. We are proud of you.โ It was short and simple, and everything she needed to hear. She smiled softly, tucking the letter back into her sleeve. Her father had never been a man of many words, anyway.ย
The garden began to glow in the dusk, a golden haze settling over the blossoms and lending an almost dreamlike quality to their surroundings. Everything felt new and strange, but in a way that made Lanna want to take it all in and never let go. โI can hardly believe how much has changed,โ she said quietly.ย
โThe flowers weren't blooming this early last year,โ Willas noted, surveying the vibrant expanse around them. โNor did we have a goldenheart tree, not one this size, anyway.โ
Lanna's eyes followed his, landing on the old tree's familiar branches. It stood apart from the others, leaves catching the fading light. โThey must have known you were planning something grand,โ she mused. โWas that the first sign?โ
โThe very first,โ Willas replied. โAnd now that you're here, it seems I can do anything.โ He took her hand and squeezed it, a gesture so tender that it made her catch her breath.ย
โAnything, perhaps,โ she said, โbut you might reconsider having me name your new library.โ
โI don't suppose you like Tyrell Hall,โ he suggested, feigning deep thought.ย
Lanna shook her head, smiling. โTyrell Hall will do nicely, as long as I get to organise it.โ She knew how he loved to tease her, but there was an earnestness beneath his words that made her feel she truly belonged.ย
โYou are mistress of all things,โ he conceded with a gallant bow, his voice light and full of promise. โThough I must warn you, there are quite a few of them.โ
They both laughed, the sound mixing with the trilling songbirds and flowing water as the sun disappeared behind the distant hills. Lanna rested her head on his shoulder, the evening warm and perfect around them. She let her thoughts drift to her family in Goldengrove, how proud they must be of her new position. More than that, she hoped they knew she was happy, truly happy. The letter from her father had given her everything she'd never realised she needed, everything she'd never let herself expect.ย
โThinking about writing him back already?โ Willas asked, nodding toward the letter.ย
She met his gaze, the intensity of it startling and reassuring all at once. โI should,โ she admitted. โBut I'm afraid if I start, I'll have to tell him how perfect things are, and then he'll worry you've tricked me somehow.โ
โI wouldn't put it past me,โ Willas said, his tone mock-serious. โWe've all heard about my dangerous charms.โ
โNone more than I,โ Lanna replied, sitting up to look at him fully. โI've heard you're not to be trusted at all.โ
โAnd do you believe it?โ He asked, raising an eyebrow.ย
โNot for a moment.โ She pulled him to his feet, leading him back through the paths, a firm hand on his arm always guiding him. โThough I did wonder at first.โ
Willas chuckled as they walked beneath the arched trees, lanterns now twinkling in their branches like starlight. โYou've always been cautious,โ he said. โI think that's what I like most about you.โ
โCautious, yes,โ Lanna agreed, remembering the girl she had been and how much she had questioned, how deeply she had doubted. Now those doubts felt distant, scattered like the petals of spent flowers. She paused at a hedge of lavender, the purple blooms vibrant against the deepening blue of evening, and reached down to brush her fingers across them.ย
โDon't pick too many,โ Willas teased. โYou'll need something to write back on.โ
Lanna laughed at the memory of herself, so different now. โI think I'll manage,โ she said, pulling the letter from her sleeve and unfolding it once more. She read it again, knowing she would never grow tired of the words. We are proud of you. They seemed to echo in her mind, as if each letter was the refrain of a song she hadn't known she was singing.ย
Her father had always hoped she would come this far. At first, Lanna had seen it as duty. Now, she understood what he meant, why he had pushed her toward the Hightowers, why he wanted her here. Willas's arm wrapped around her waist as they made their way back, the path ahead of them bright even in the growing darkness.ย
โI'm glad you were right,โ Lanna said, a quiet and heartfelt admission.ย
โAbout what?โ
โEverything,โ she replied. โEspecially the flowers.โ
The evening was warm, Willas beside her, and the garden unfolded around them with its own vibrant certainty. She was here, she was truly here. She folded the letter carefully, thinking of all she would write back. The words came so easily now: she was happy, she was loved, she belonged.ย
SAMIRA
She had fled these streets when shadows chased her steps. Now Samira returned, an unbroken thread leading back through all the years and silence. Her sister's promises and quiet strength had carried her through dark halls of doubt, across a continent's breadth and to her own unspoken truth. The light from the Hightower beacon cast wavering reflections in her dark eyes, and she wondered if anyone within could see her yet. Her hair fluttered in the cooling night air as she rode, free of any pins or braids, flowing like the determination that had brought her back. Samira allowed herself a smile - small, yet fierce - before letting the mask of composure retake its place.ย ย
Her memories flickered as the city drew closer. The scents and sounds of Oldtown came like echoes of another life, a life when she had felt sure of her place, when she had not yet learned to doubt. She passed familiar landmarks, some welcoming, others more painful. The bookbinders' shops, the Starry Sept's elegant shadow, the broad avenue lined with noble homes: each reminded her of different phases in her understanding, how they shifted in unexpected ways.ย
For a time, she had thought herself the most fortunate of her siblings, blessed with knowledge that others might not want, able to make choices free of the Hightower's weight. Yet even in distant Sandstone, surrounded by Quentyn's kindness and generosity, she realised she was only chasing the mysteries of herself, mysteries she would never solve without facing what she had run from.
The stars emerged above, casting their cold light over the winding streets and washing the city in hues of silver and blue. They were familiar constellations, the same she had watched with Alina from Winterfell's ramparts, and their brilliance reminded her of the things that had guided her back. The truth, she decided, had its own pull, a force as inexorable as gravity, always drawing her home.
Near the great base of the tower, Baelor waited like a solemn sentry. His silhouette stood sharp against the softer evening, every line and edge precise in its authority. Samira wondered if he had been there all along, knowing she would return. His expression was unreadable, but she imagined what lay beneath it - hope, perhaps, or fear, the same she had always known.
They spoke at first with guarded reserve, both careful to say nothing that would press too far.ย
โYou've had a long journey,โ Baelor said. His tone carried none of the relief she thought he must feel. โI trust you were well-treated in Dorne.โ
โLord Quentyn's hospitality was generous,โ Samira replied, as if describing a stranger's courtesy. The words came like drafts of a letter rather than the truths that had led her back. โHe seems eager to renew relations with our house.โ
She watched as Baelor absorbed this, wondering if he suspected the other meaning in her words. She wanted to believe he knew already, that his careful pause was a sign of consideration rather than ignorance.ย
โYou always had a talent for diplomacy,โ he said, after a moment that stretched almost too long.ย
The remark felt more like a question, and she chose not to answer. Instead, she let silence expand between them, rich with all they didn't say.
โYouโre my real father,โ Samira finally admitted, her voice unwavering. โYou always have been.โ The words, so direct and clear, left little room for further deflection. They lingered in the air like a release, a secret freed from its shell.ย
Baelor met her gaze, and for the first time she saw the struggle in him - the churning beneath the stoic surface, the years of holding back. โIt changes nothing,โ he replied, but his voice caught slightly on the last word.
โIt changes everything,โ Samira countered, feeling the quiet power of the truth between them. She held his eyes, unflinching.
He looked as if he might say more, as if the weight of his role had finally slipped. Instead, he pulled her close with a rough tenderness that startled her, his authority softening into something else. For a moment, Samira was a child again, small and uncertain, lost in the embrace of the only father she'd ever known. But the moment passed, and she emerged, still herself, still sure.ย
As they parted, she stepped back with a confidence born of acceptance. โIt's why I came home,โ she said.
Baelor regarded her with a mixture of pride and regret. โYou're more like me than you know,โ he replied, the honesty in his voice a balm to wounds neither had acknowledged before. He cleared his throat, recovering his composure. โI assume Lord Quentyn knows?โ
โYes,โ Samira said, allowing a hint of warmth into her tone. โIt's why I stayed in Dorne for so long. I couldn't return until I knew for certain.โ
โDid you?โ he asked, a note of vulnerability slipping through his usually careful control.
She nodded. โI did,โ she said softly.
The tower loomed behind Baelor, its great height less imposing now. She saw it for what it truly was - a monument to the weight they all carried, the legacies and secrets they sheltered within its walls. It felt smaller than before, as if her new understanding had given her the perspective to see it clearly. The Starry Sept and Citadel seemed the same, reduced from cathedrals to human size.
They walked through the courtyard, the expanse between them growing shorter with each step. Samira's footsteps echoed on the stone, the familiar rhythm taking her back to other times and other thoughts. She had felt so lost when she left, so overwhelmed by the contradictions of herself. Now, every step rang with quiet certainty.ย
For the first time in years, Samira saw the world without the mask of doubt. Even the shadows held no fear. She marveled at how much lighter it felt, how much brighter the stars were when freed from secrets.
Baelor broke the silence as they passed the rose garden, as beautiful as ever. โI'm glad you returned,โ he said, his tone a rare mix of authority and vulnerability.ย
The admission was unlike him, unguarded and genuine, and she knew how much it meant. โYou knew I would,โ she replied. She glanced at him, gauging his response. The tightening of his jaw told her more than any words.
In the months away, Samira had learned to see herself anew. To view the past in its true colors, and let those colors shape her rather than constrain her. To take even what was broken and hold it with careful hands, finding the pieces that still fit. Everything looked different now. Everything was.ย
โI wondered,โ Baelor said after a long pause, his voice softer than she'd ever heard.ย
She let the moment linger between them, savoring its warmth. They neared the gates together, the light from the city falling in pools around them.ย
โYou shouldn't have,โ Samira replied at last, an unexpected touch of mirth in her voice. She marveled at how easy it was to say, how much had changed since she had set out. โIt was only a matter of time.โ
He looked at her with new understanding, the affection clear in his eyes. For the first time, she saw it without needing to search. Her world was whole again, and she was a part of it.ย
They stood beneath the stars, silent witnesses to their unspoken hopes, the promises they'd never dare to make but had always kept.ย
โAlways,โ she added, smiling as they crossed the threshold into their new and certain world.ย
ALINA
Dusk turned to starlight with soft certainty, filling the evening with echoes of Alina's deepest fears and quietest triumphs. Nights like these had once been full of ghosts, but now their pale light felt like comfort. She breathed deeply, the coolness of the river air mingling with the warmth of Duncan beside her. Her daughter Arielle slept quietly against her chest, the gentle lapping of water the only other sound around them. Alina looked up at the stars and marveled at the transformation they marked: the journey from memory to hope, from loneliness to belonging.ย
โIt was a good letter,โ Duncan said, his voice low and calm, as if the quiet of the night had woven its peace through him. โUncle Perceval wrote that he couldn't be more pleased, and that you're already family in his eyes.โ He paused, glancing at her with affection that seemed to hold the very universe at bay. โWarm congratulations on Arielle, and on our marriage, of course.โ
Alina listened to his words, feeling their truth in every syllable. Once, she might have doubted them, finding ghosts in their kindness and traps in their meaning. Now, she allowed the peace to settle over her like a blessing, something she had never dared expect. โIt was kind of him to write,โ she said, letting her head rest against Duncan's shoulder. โEspecially after how long you were away.โ
Duncan slipped his arm around her, drawing her closer. โCaswells can be surprisingly sentimental,โ he teased, โand loyal beyond reason.โ
Her smile was a reflection of the love in his eyes. โA dangerous combination,โ she replied. โYou should have warned me.โ
They sat in contented silence, the river flowing by in hushed agreement. The past felt distant, a place Alina had once inhabited but had no desire to revisit. She thought of how far they had come, how many nights she had spent afraid of what might never be. Now those fears seemed so small, scattered and gone like stars before the dawn.ย
โDo you know what I wrote back?โ Duncan asked, breaking the stillness with the warmth of his voice.ย
โThat I'm already regretting it?โ Alina ventured, mischief in her tone.ย
โOnly slightly,โ he said, brushing her hair back to see her more clearly. โI told him he wasn't losing a nephew. He was gaining someone far more formidable.โ
Alina laughed, a sound that felt as light and free as the air around them. โHe must be terrified,โ she said.ย
โHis reply was more congratulations,โ Duncan told her, eyes full of playful warmth. โAnd his assurance that he'd double the defenses, just in case. I did not expect it, truthfullyโฆ Heโs still my father, I guess.โ
โHe's very brave,โ she said, her voice softening. โAlmost as brave as you.โ
Duncan looked at her, the moment stretching like the endless expanse above. โOr foolish,โ he suggested, though the tenderness in his voice said otherwise. โDo you think so?โ
Alina let the night wrap around them, full of memories but no longer haunted by them. "I think you're both," she said. โBut most of all, I think you love me.โ
โYou know I do,โ he replied. โAnd I always will.โ
Arielle stirred against her, and Alina watched as her tiny hand grasped the edge of the blanket, securing herself even in sleep. The gesture touched her, a sign of strength that she hadn't realized meant so much to her until now. She knew her own story would be different, her own fears finally at rest.ย
โI was afraid of nights like this, once,โ Alina admitted, a new honesty in her voice. โToo quiet, too full of memory.โ She hesitated, unsure of whether to voice what came next. โNow they feel like a gift.โ
โMore than a gift,โ Duncan said, holding her even closer. โThey're yours.โ He looked at her with a depth of feeling that had once terrified her but now made her whole.ย
โDo you mean ours?โ Alina asked, searching his face for reassurance she no longer truly needed.ย
โI do,โ Duncan replied. โBut you're my light in the dark, Alina. My guiding star.โ
The way he spoke her name, the gentleness with which he offered these words, made Alina's heart swell with an emotion so pure it seemed to light up the night around them. It was more than she had hoped for, more than she had let herself believe she deserved.ย
She wanted to hold onto this moment, to never let it slip away. โI was thinking,โ she said, her voice infused with a new kind of hope. โWe should plant a tree for Arielle. Something strong and lasting.โ
Duncan nodded, understanding the sentiment that lay beneath her words. โA weirwood,โ he suggested. โSomething northern, like her father.โ
Alina laughed, the sound ringing out across the still water. โOnly if we plant a Hightower rose beside it,โ she said. โShe's going to need that, too.โ
โI think she's going to be perfect,โ Duncan said, looking at the small, peaceful form nestled in Alina's arms. โJust like her mother.โ
The river whispered its agreement, calm and healing, carrying away all that had once kept them apart. Alina felt the peace of it, the endless promise of a future that she could finally see. It wrapped around them like the cool air, soothing and sweet, a balm to her once-troubled soul.ย
She marveled at how complete it all felt. How much had changed, and how right this moment was. โIt's beautiful here,โ she said, letting her gaze drift to the stars. โI never thought I'd find a place like this.โ
Duncan looked at her with the intensity of a man who saw nothing else. โIt's home,โ he said simply. โFor all of us.โ
Alina felt the truth in his words, the deep and lasting truth she had sought for so long. She watched Arielle, amazed by the smallness and strength in her, the fierce grip on a new life that Alina had finally let herself grasp.ย
โTo think, I nearly lost you,โ she said, her voice catching on the memory of other nights, less certain and more lonely. โBoth of you.โ
"But you didn't," Duncan said, his certainty anchoring her even more firmly in the present. โAnd you never will.โ
Alina believed him. For the first time, she truly did. "I'm not sure how I lived without this," she said. "How I let fear keep me away."
"Fear can be powerful," Duncan agreed, a shadow of understanding passing over his face. "But not as powerful as this."
"No," Alina said, feeling the past slip away. "Nothing is."
The night wrapped them in its embrace, each star a testament to the new life they'd chosen. She looked at Duncan, the man she loved, and saw a future so bright it made her eyes fill with tears. They were happy tears, and for once she let them fall.ย
Together, they watched the sky, holding each other with a promise as wide and infinite as the stars above.ย
Lanna folded the letter with the care of someone crafting a dream, and as she sealed it, she imagined the way Alina's face would light up when it reached her. She thought of the distance it would travel, of the rivers and valleys and sky, the places that had once seemed so vast and unconquerable but now felt like mere points on a map of certain belonging. Her fingers lingered on the paper, tracing the lines of a journey they both understood too well.ย
She signed the letter with precise strokes: Lady Rowan. It was the name she had been born to, the name her father had once promised would make her a queen. But it felt foreign now, like a life that had belonged to someone else. She smiled as she crossed it out, rewriting her name with newfound pride: Lanna Tyrell.ย ย
The letters glowed with the soft reflection of candlelight, each curve a promise of where she was meant to be. She lifted the letter, considering it in the golden light, then laid it down with a satisfied sigh. This was her world now, this vast garden of certainty and bloom. It was everything she'd never dared to hope for, everything she'd never allowed herself to claim until it was finally, undeniably hers.
A gentle breeze stirred the room, and Lanna watched as the flame danced with life, vibrant and free. She marveled at how much had changed, at how fully she had come into this role, not as duty but as herself. Once, she had been an observer of others' ambitions, always wondering if she would play a part. Now, the parts were hers to write.ย
As she set the candle beside the letter, her thoughts drifted to Alina and Samira, to the ties that bound them even across the distance. She remembered other times and other names, and the way the world had shifted like the seasons, transforming even the smallest of hopes into grand possibilities.ย
The candle flared and flickered, and Lanna let herself feel complete.ย
In another part of the Reach, a candle's flame leapt to life with the same brightness. Its light filled the room, casting gentle shadows as Samira cupped her hand around it and murmured a quiet prayer. The words came naturally to her now, infused with the traditions she had once felt unsure of, the heritage she now wore like armor. She whispered to the stars, her voice carrying strength and certainty to the farthest reaches of the night.ย
โThese are the eyes of the gods,โ Rhonda had told her once. Samira remembered the way her mother's voice had mingled with the firelight, wrapping the room in warmth and love. Even then, Rhonda had known. Even then, Samira had been too stubborn to see. "Watching over you," she had said, "and keeping you safe."
The starlight seemed to glow with promise, a beacon of the new life she had found. Samira marveled at the way the flame captured her journey, a tiny star burning bright and true. There were no more doubts, no more ghosts or shadows, only the soft light of knowing who she truly was.ย
She watched as the candle flickered, feeling its power, its warmth. The room glowed with more than firelight; it pulsed with her spirit, alive and fierce. Samira held onto the feeling, letting it fill the spaces that had once been empty.ย
"Nymeria's stars," she said aloud, her voice a rich blend of her worlds. "May they guide us home."
The flame flared, then steadied, a testament to the strength she'd found.ย
Samira smiled, letting her thoughts wander to the family she knew was thinking of her, too. There was no uncertainty now, no fear of where she belonged. She imagined how proud they would be to see her so sure, to know she had returned in both heart and spirit. She saw herself reflected in each flicker of the candle, in each remembered word and moment.ย
The light shifted and changed, like the dawn of a new day, and Samira felt its promise. It was more than she had hoped for. It was home.ย
Above another home, a single star twinkled bright, full of meaning.ย
Alina sat beneath it, her world illuminated by the glow of her own transformations. The river murmured softly, the sound mingling with Duncan's voice and the warmth of his embrace. They held Arielle between them, feeling the newness of it all, the wonder and joy.ย
"She's going to be strong," Alina said softly, looking at her daughter and seeing a future unclouded by doubt.ย
"Like her mother," Duncan replied, his words rich with love and certainty.ย
The night was a canvas, painted with stars that Alina no longer feared. Each glint was a testament to the path she had taken, the choices that had led her to this moment of absolute clarity and hope. She saw all the women before her, the weight they had carried, and felt the freedom of finally laying that burden to rest.ย
"We're here," she said, letting the simple truth of it fill her heart.ย
Arielle's tiny hand curled around Duncan's finger, and Alina watched, her eyes misting with the happiness she'd never believed was hers to claim. She saw her daughter as she once was - small, uncertain, but full of fierce potential. This time, though, there was no fear. Only love.ย
It made her think of Robb - the husband she had loved, and lost too soon. She had grieved him, and she had moved on. Although, sometimes at night sheโd feel guilty. So guilty for letting another man close to her. But she knew, she knew itโs what Robb would have wanted. For her to move on, and find happiness.ย
The worst part was, Alina could no longer remember what he looked like. She would close her eyes at night, and sheโd see her daughterโs father. The outline of the person she had once loved. She had forgotten the colour of his hair, and the way his eyes would look at her.ย
But Robb lived on through her daughter. Robbโs daughter. And that was enough.ย
Above them, the stars burned bright, silent witnesses to the quiet triumphs of three women who had found their way home.ย

What if... The One Ring from Middle Earth was suddenly teleported into Game of Thrones (the show version).
WARNING: Much of this will just be speculation so just stay with me here.
For argument's sake, let's place the ring in Essos, somewhere near Pentos, and have it land just before season 1.
Remember that the ring changes its wearer based on its status.
For commoners, it turns them invisible and gives them an unnatural long life.
For kings and royalty, it would lead soldiers to flock to their banner.
And for beings of a magical order, it would increase their power indefinitely.

CHAPTER 1
In the field of the Free Cities, a group of merchant men stumbles upon a small ring. They do not know why but they pick it up and decide to add it to their tribute to Viserys III. The reason for me doing this is because the Ring is looking for a new master, and it'll be drawn by the closest thing that it is familiar with like a nobleman. In this case, its prime target will be Viserys. With Viserys and Daenerys in their seats receiving gifts of all kinds, it would be quite peculiar for them to be interested in the smallest thing. I imagine Daenerys would be the first one to try and reach for the ring till Viserys would most definitely block her and seize the ring for himself. It is important to note at this point that Targaryens do in fact have dragon magic within their blood, so when Viserys puts on the ring, he suddenly grows in magical capabilities. Since dragon magic is within him, I would imagine him to be similar to a dragon, surrounded by flame, and not look too similar to the Balrog of Middle-Earth. The army of the Free Cities would try to fight against him, but ultimately these armies are no match for the power of the one and its wielder. Soon enough, the Free Cities would fall under the control of Viserys.
News of this would spread throughout Essos and Westeros, inevitably reaching Winterfell, where by this time would be celebrating the arrival of King Robert and the Lanisters. Much in canon would remain the same except that Robert doesn't appoint Ned to the hand of the king just because he trusts him but does it so he can have his allies close to prepare for what is happening in the east. In canon, Jon was sent to the wall because after years of growing up with the Starks but not actually being one of them and constantly being reminded of that fact, it's no wonder he wants to leave Winterfell despite the love he does have for them. But with the threat of the Dragon Lord's conquest rising in the East, he prioritizes his position with the Starks and his desire to be one day accepted by them is what compels him to stay instead of leaving for the Night's Watch.
The rest of the plot of season 1 pretty much goes the same without too many changes. Catelyn will definitely be upset with Jon for staying at Winterfell, especially with Ned now gone and Bran in a coma. So with Jon staying at Winterfell, I could see this leading to a much more strained and bitter relationship between him and Cat. Other than that, another thing I see that isn't too heavy of a change to the plot of season 1 is what happens with the Catspaw Assassin. Now in canon, this guy was sent to kill Bran and almost killed Catlin until Bran's direwolf Summer ripped out his throat, but instead of Summer, it was actually Jon who saves Catlin. He makes his way to the room and ends up killing the assassin, this would cause internal conflict for Catlin. On the one hand, she's still very resentful of Jon and angry with him, but on the other hand, she's inclined to feel grateful not just for him saving her but also for saving Bran by extension, it also causes her to question her feelings about John as a person. She treated Jon with so much disdain and coldness, that he had no reason to save her life and yet he does. He goes against the negative stigma that is built around bastards in Westeros, and this could be the start, albeit a slow one, of Catlin, possibly changing her opinion about Jon in the future and possibly feeding into the regret she secretly feels for Jon as well.
But other than that the plot pretty much goes the same since the events of King's Landing are pretty unaffected by the ring. Robert would probably not feel as bad sending assassins after Viserys and Daenerys this time though, however, these would not go very well. Khal Drogo in the meantime, who went to the Free Cities for his engagement with Daenarys, is instead greeted by Viserys and the forces that yielded to him. Viserys who at this point would be seen as some sort of demi-god in the eyes of the Dathroki. I'm not entirely sure if Khal Drogo survives this or not, but if he does, he will become a chief lieutenant under Viserys and will lead him to the City of the Horse Lords, where Viserys will gather a force of 100,000 riders. With such a force, Viserys is confident that he will succeed in re-conquering his homeland, however, the ring influences him to hold, and gather a stronger force in Essos before sailing to Westeros. Daenerys in all this probably no longer needs to marry Drogo anymore since Viserys has the power he seeks already. She would probably help rebuild the forces in the wake of her brother's destruction, all the while being increasingly tempted by the ring, which she now knows is the source of Viserys's power. With this in mind, she would probably start building her council as she does in canon but this time in secret, with Jorah Mormont, who remains loyal to Robert after seeing the destruction being caused.
Ned is still taken prisoner and Robb calls the banners to war to get his father back, Jon, of course, will join the fight like he wanted to do in canon, but this time he won't be breaking any oaths to do so. He'll fight with Robb at the Whispering Woods and help him bring in Jamie. I honestly think with how close Robb and Jon were, Jon would be Rob's right-hand man during the war. Continuing, Ned will still be killed in King's Landing and there will be a very emotional scene of Robb and Jon grieving together. They are brothers for all they know and therefore the two eldest sons of Eddard Stark. Robb will eventually be named King of the North and Jon will have no issues swearing fealty to his brother as king. Jon would become a very influential aspect in Robb's life during the war, which has now been titled, The War of Seven Kings (we'll talk about the seventh later). Another thing that ends up happening is that Robb never meets Telisa, meaning his marriage pact with the Frays is sealed.
Back over in Essos, the great city of Qarth is greeted once again by the Targaryeans, but instead of seeing a small starving Dathraki group, they see thousands of Dathraki, being led by a man engulfed in flame. The dragon eggs wouldn't have hatched around the normal time as in canon, but instead are awoken by the one ring's flames, giving Viserys three dragons to his army. Qarth would undoubtedly wield to the power of the one, and Daenerys would probably allow one of them to join her secret council, that person being most likely Xaro Xhoan Daxos, wishing to hold a strong position in the new world order. He would also ask to be wed to Daenerys like in canon, and in fear of her brother, Daenerys would accept. Although Qarth doesn't have many foot soldiers, it does have the largest amount of wealth in Essos, yet this is ignored by Viserys, who is busy meeting with the Warlocks of Qarth. In canon, the Warlocks' magic is enhanced by the birth of the dragons. With the one ring in the world, and the increasing power of Viserys, the Warlocks would become very powerful, and would most likely become powerful allies to Viserys. They will in a way, be similar to the Nazghul from Middle Earth. Daenerys would live in great fear of her brother, but luckily, someone who can sense the change in the world's power structure would help her. That being, Quaithe of the Shadow.
Theon would still return to the Iron Islands and eventually betrays Robb, later taking Winterfell, and Catlin will still release Jaimie. Everything that would have happened with her, the death of Renley, meeting Brienne, and escaping, all would have happened and gone the same. Roose Bolton will offer to take back Winterfell for Robb with the help of Ramsey and once again word will reach Robb via Roose that Brandon and Rickon are nowhere to be found and neither is Theon which is a lie since we know where Theon really is, the Dread Fort. But this is where the timeline could get generally interesting. With the disappearance and potential death of his two brothers, Winterfell's succession will be put into question since Robb hasn't married Telisa or anyone for that matter since the Fray's marriage won't happen until much later. It's safe to assume that he has no heir and that is dangerous for a king fighting on the front lines of a war. So with the survival of his brothers put into question, I believe that during The War of Seven Kings, Robb would legitimize Jon. With Robb effectively being the last Stark male around, with the disappearance of his brothers and with no pregnant wife, he talks to Catlin about legitimizing Jon so the cause doesn't die with him should anything happen. Jon Snow will become Jon Stark. Jon will finally get the recognition and respected place in the family that he always desired.
Back over in Essos, Viserys's conquest of the land has had devastating effects. He conquers Meereen, Yunkai, New Ghis, and Astapor, and uses the money from Qarth to buy all of the Unsullied. With a force now reaching a staggering 178,000, he begins to move West closer to his homeland. Most of Volentis will see Viserys as the prince that was promised, bringing more into his cause. Using the ring to increase his willpower, similar to what Sauron did to the orcs, Viserys's forces become extremely loyal to him. But like how the ring influenced the magic of Essos, it will also start to have an effect in Westoros, more specifically in the North. The Night King, sensing the increasing power across the world, does not have a clear picture of what has arisen but would start to work harder in increasing the numbers in his army, which will cause the Children of the Forest to leave their stronghold much sooner and Mance Rayder to accelerate his plans. Like how the destruction of the Ring caused magic to slowly disappear from Middle Earth, the coming of the Ring caused magic to reappear across Essos and Westeros.
CHAPTER 2
With the war continuing with Tywin at the front, the remaining Lanisters back at Kings Landing would most likely be preparing for the eventual arrival of Viserys and would be searching for any possible new allies. Like in canon, their focus would be trying to get the Golden Company on their side. Meanwhile, the Mountain is currently tearing up the Riverlands, and in canon, Robb devised a plan to kill him that his uncle Edmere screwed up. But in this timeline, Robb would tell Jon the plan and send him with some men after the mountain instead of Edmere to draw him out so they can ambush him. Jon would definitely follow the plan and get the drop on the Mountain, and Gregor's head would end up on a spike. This would be a pretty bad blow to Tywin since the Mountain is pretty much his go-to guy for everything violence-related. This is also pretty big because if the Mountain dies, then Oberin lives since he never has to fight him in a trial by combat. Without such a big blunder, Robb's marriage with the Frays goes smoothly and the Frays stay loyal. The Boltons won't be able to make a move against Jon and Robb at this point either. Despite plotting on the Starks for so long, since Robb is in a less fragile position, and with the Frays not making any moves for the time being, it's unlikely that Roose will be able to see an opportunity to turn on them. During the wedding of Roslin and Robb, Arya would be returned to the Starks because that portion of the story might stay the same as well. Stannis would have attacked King's Landing in the battle of the Blackwater only to be rebuffed by the Tyrells and the Lannister forces, and the Hound would have still also left the city. Eventually, he would have found Arya and followed through with his plan to ransom her back to her family. The return of Arya cuts her arc in Essos entirely, so she'll never train to be a faceless assassin.
Over with Stannis, after his defeat at the Blackwater, his forces would be in disarray since many of them would start to see Viserys as the true prince that was promised. While Melisandre tries to regain the soldiers' faith, Stannis and Davos will go to Braavos as they do in canon, but instead of meeting with the Iron Bank, they have a secret meeting with Daenerys. My reasoning for this is that Daenerys has far fewer allies in Essos and she'll probably be less focussed on the throne in this timeline and focus on stopping her brother. Tensions would be high since Stannis believes that the iron throne is his by right and Daenerys would be one of his biggest obstacles and a potential rival. But I think Davos's negotiation skills could help the two of them come to some sort of arrangement. Most likely ends with Daenerys giving Stannis valuable information, such as the Ring being the source of Viserys's power, and after her brother's defeat, Stannis will give her Dragonstone.
Back with Viserys, the ring would warn him of deception among his ranks, but instead of accepting wisdom from the ring, Viserys would most likely kill blindly, causing discord among his ranks. Jorah's life would be in jeopardy, but he is saved by an unlikely ally, Daenerys. The reason why I believe this is because in canon Jorah spied on Daenerys, but in this timeline, he focuses his efforts on Viserys, and Daenerys compulsion to do good would make her back Jorah. Daenerys would allow him to be a part of her secret council, which now consists of Xaro, Barristan Selmy, Quaithe, and Daario Naharis, with allies such as Stannis and now with the Lannisters through Jorah. Missandei and Grey Worm not being part of it since they were never freed by Daenerys. And Daenerys probably won't get the same bond she had with the dragons since Viserys would be training them himself. This council would be most likely trying to figure out how to stabilize the realm after her brother's destructive rampage. But they would also be trying to stop him, sooner or later, knowing that if he continued his conquest of the world, nothing but chaos and fear would be left. However, as long as Viserys has the one Ring, an assassination attempt would be impossible. While the council discusses, Viserys's conquest continues, now reaching the Narrow Sea, and conquering many cities, including Braavos, ending the rain of the faceless assassins. Now with almost all of Essos under his control, Viserys plans to have the Golden Company join his forces, but unfortunately finds them missing, having sided with the Lannisters and sailed to Westeros.
After Robb's wedding, it is at this point that Jon will be asked to hold Winterfell in Robb's absence and be asked to take Arya back home with him since there is no place for her on the battlefield, and the Hound is going to go with them. Although many people will be suspicious of him since he used to work for the Lannisters, he has no love for them, is considered an enemy by Tywin, and once he hears of the death of his brother, he would most likely join forces with the Starks and head back to Winterfell with Jon and Arya. A hound among wolves. Though Winterfell is not out of danger. The Wildlings would likely become more of an issue. And like in canon, would raid castle black with all of their forces, and overwhelme the Night's Watch. With over 100,000 men, Mance Rayder would fully take over the Wall. This is made even easier since he'll also be using all 100 giants, and the Children of the Forest who joined Mance in order to escape from the White Walkers. With such a powerful force, the King Beyond the Wall will be the seventh in the War of Seven Kings and will be mostly focused on battling the Starks, Greyjoys, and Stannis. While closer to the south, the Starks continue their war against the Lannisters who have gained reinforcements from the Golden Company. All while preparing for the arrival of Viserys.
Since the Tyrells have sided with the Lannisters, Joffrey is still going to get married to Marjorie Tyrell, and he will still be murdered by Olena. Tyrion will be accused of the crime, have his YOLO speech, and demand a trial by combat. This is important because of the Mountain's death, the Lannisters would have to find a new champion, and Tyrion probably won't need Oberin because he would have Bronn in this timeline since he will have more incentive to fight for Tyrion without the threat of his head being popped. Tyrion would win the trial by combat and be exonerated of the crime of killing Joffery. Since he's an innocent man now he's never imprisoned again, he's never sentenced to die by his own father, which is one of the things that pushed him over the edge and caused him to kill Tywin, meaning that Tywin lives. Cercei would be enraged with Tyrion surviving and she would not let this go. At this point, Jamie would warn Tyrion and still tell him that he needs to leave even if he is innocent, but instead of fleeing to Essos, Tyrion would end up going to Dorne. Both the Martels and Tyrion hate the Lannisters, specifically Tywin, and since Oberin and sympathy for Tyrion, he would make arrangements for Tyrion to stay with his family who may be more accepting of him. With that, Tyrion would remain in Dorne, most likely advising the King, and spend some quality time with his niece Marcella.
When Jon arrives at Winterfell, he finds it has already been taken by Ramsey, who in this timeline is still Ramsey Snow, and since his father remained loyal to the Starks, Ramsey would fall under the line of Jon. Jon would rebuild Winterfell, but he must act quickly as the Wildlings continue their march South. With a majority of the Northern forces heading South and only a handful of men at each castle, the North was easy pickings and the Wildlings would start raiding. House Umber, Karstark, and Stag would all fall under the Wildlings, as they invade Stark land as far as the Blackfort. He will try to recruit as many remaining houses in the North as he can such as house Mormont, Hornwood, Mazin, and a small portion of the Boltons, the rest fighting in the South. This unfortunately gives Jon only 1,005 men, so he decides to hold out at Winterfell and defeat the Wildlings there. Ned Stark did say at one time that 500 men defending Winterfell could stop 10,000. While preparing Winterfell's defenses, Jon and Ramsay would be working very close, and I think Jon would form a bond with Ramsay since he was also a bastard and the two would form a friendship (ironically). Other friendships I could see happening are between Arya and Lyanna since that could become a fun duo. Ramsey probably would not tell Jon about what he did to Theon, but instead would claim that he disappeared when he was retaking Winterfell. This is just me here, but I have this crazy theory that since Jon and Ramsey were so close, like Robb with Jon, Jon would legitimize Ramsey since he's no longer a bastard and now has that authority. Ramsay Snow was now Ramsay Bolton, earning Ramsay's loyalty in the process. I could also see Jon legitimizing a lot of bastards within the North, and adding them to his ranks, which will probably give him the title, Jon the Redeemer. They will get small reinforcements from survivors from Castle Black, one of them is Lord Commander Mormont who never sent out an expedition like he did in canon, meaning the mutiny never happened and he gets to live. He reunites with his family, gives valuable information on the wildling forces, and, in some shape or form, gives Jon his sword Long Claw, like he does in canon.
Now Mance would probably declare the Wall as his and use it as a base for operations for his invasion of the South. As for his attack on Winterfell, he would probably keep a majority of his forces at the Wall and would only send 5,000 men and 2 giants to take the castle. The reason why he only send 2 giants is because he only has a hundred, meaning he'll have to spare them wisely. Jon would lead his forces from the front lines with Mormont and the Hound, while Ramsey, Arya, and Lyanna would help from behind the walls. The battle would be long and fierce, but ultimately the Wildlings' savagery, with the 2 giants backing them, would start to turn the tide. This is where things get interesting because, over the horizon, reinforcements have come, but it's not Robb and the rest of the Northern army, but instead Stannis, with his remaining 4,000 men on horseback who cut down the attacking Wildlings. Although one of the two giants could survive this attack, the giant's honor would compel them to continue fighting, meaning both giants also fall in the battle. Although the Wildlings have lost, the battle may not yet be over, as Stannis now would declare himself victor over Winterfell. Jon, Arya, and all the overs would probably still be alive, so Stannis would be negotiating with them. Like in canon, Stannis would offer Jon to be lord of Winterfell, in exchange for backing his claim for the throne, and have the North remain as part of the Seven Kingdoms. But Jon, being extremely loyal to his brother, would decline this request.
Hearing the news from Winterfell, Robb would be enraged by this, and although he wants to go back North and support his brother, he unfortunately cannot, due to losing many men when taking Castley Rock, something he wanted to do in the original timeline. This decision is made even more trying with the Golden Company joining the Lanister forces, now giving Tywin command over 70,000 well-trained soldiers. However, Stannis says that he'll spare Jon and Arya if he agrees to support Stannis's claim to the throne and allow their forces to unite against the Lanisters. This is unfortunate because if he does declare for Stannis, Robb would lose the support of the houses, so he refuses. Stannis would likely not kill them however since he does have the experience to know that killing Jon and Arya would be declaring war on the rest of Westeros, so he spares them. But Stannis would not go back to the fight in the South just yet, instead requesting a summit with Mance Rayder to discuss terms, and possibly form an alliance to boost his numbers. Stannis would also be taking Jon with him during the negotiations since he is the lord of the North and he has seen the Wildling forces personally. But tensions would be high cause no one could get too close to the Wall without being affected by the Children of the Forest's magic, and if the Skago's lands now belonged to the Wildlings, that means Mance would have found Rickon and would use him as a bargaining chip so Stannis's army wouldn't attack. And things won't be going so well for Ramsay as well, because, during the invasion of Winterfell, Yara would rescue her brother from the Dreadfort and take him back to the Iron Islands. Although with his son returned, King Balon would probably still pull his forces back since there is no way he can defeat the Lanisters or the Starks, nor can he keep attacking the North due to the Wildlings. However, on the horizon, dark clouds begin forming over Westeros, warning them of the impending doom that is approaching. Viserys has set sail to Westeros.
CHAPTER 3
Now one thing that you're probably thinking is, where are Littlefinger and Sansa during all of this? Well, they have been staying in the Vale, which has remained a neutral zone during the War of Seven Kings. Although in the series Littlefinger sends his troops to take back the North, I don't think he'll do this in the new timeline due to the coming of Viserys. Although he could just do nothing and let all of his enemies kill each other, he probably wouldn't because of the possibility of one of the kings falling in line under Viserys, Littlefinger would be at best, third greatest in the new power structure of the realm. Littlefinger instead forms plans of his own - through manipulation, he sends Sansa Stark back to Winterfell and on behalf of the Vale, requesting aid from Stannis. With winter and Viserys approaching, Stannis agrees, leaving the negotiation with the Wildlings to Jon. Meanwhile, the Vale musters its riders, not under Sansa but instead under Yohn Royce, who assembles 52,000 men to ride out, bolstered by the army of Stannis, they now amass a 56,000-strong army. Littlefinger's grand plan is simple, when Viserys lands on Westeros he would at first fight the Lanisters or the Starks, perhaps both, which would cost all three armies dearly. Should any of the kings prove victorious, Littlefinger would be on the winning side and perhaps through later treachery, take the iron throne for himself. Should Viserys prove victorious, he would proclaim that he was no ally of any of the kings of Westeros and only served the Targaryians and perhaps later on, take the one ring for himself. Yet, his insurance is Stannis and the Vale - a 56,000-strong calvary that would wreak havoc upon whatever force remains and cripple the force of Viserys or any of the other kings - enough perhaps for Littlefinger to betray the victor.
Over in Essos, Viserys has left the Warlocks and red priests in charge in his sted, to keep his name alive and his newly expanded kingdom afloat. When Viserys arrives, he lands at Old Town since its vast fields would be great land for his Dothraki to ride on. To take the throne, his plans are relatively simple, march to King's Landing, and leave none alive. While he attacked from the West, Daenerys would attack from the East with their armada. Even though the Ring continues to warn him about conspiring against him, Viserys's pride and arrogance get the better of him, and he starts marching to the capital. He sends his Dothraki to Dorne, hoping they'll either join him or be destroyed, but instead, they are nowhere to be found. Under Tyrion's advice, Prince Qoren Martell sends his troops to Casterly Rock, where they ally with Robb and the Northern forces. Although he still sends his 100,000 Dothraki North to attack the Northern Dorne alliance, Rob's battle strategy and a force now reaching 79,500, Robb defeats the Dothraki, and Khal Drogo, severely damaging Visery's army. But Viserys chooses to ignore this, still focusing on King's Landing. When he arrives, he sends his armies and the Unsullied to attack the Lanisters and the Golden Company, who have gotten word of Viserys coming from Jorah, while he and his dragons fly above and attack the city itself. When he arrives at the Red Keep however, he is surprised to find that his sister is nowhere to be found, instead taking his armada and the rest of his army and keeping them at Dragonstone. Without his ships to fully take the city, Viserys unleashes the dragons and they destroy everything in their path, killing tens of thousands, while he enters the Red Keep. Although there are some guards still within, Viserys with the Ring swiftly kills them, and anyone who even moves, and inevitably, Cercei, Jamie, Margerey, and Tommon fall. And as the battle continues outside the walls, Viserys finally sits on the iron throne, and in his delusion, proclaims himself as king.
Outside, the battle continues. Although Tywin is the far better commander, Visery's numbers prove to be too much for him, as the Lannister armies finally fall, with some survivors fleeing to the Stormlands. This may seem like a victory, but over the horizon, Stannis's army catches them off guard, and absolutely devastate Viserys's forces. As they move into the city, his army still needs to contend with the dragons, but since they are not yet fully grown, their spears and arrows begin to injure them extremely, forcing them to fall back. At last, Stannis has taken King's Landing, but when he enters the castle, he is greeted by Viserys, who would never let Stannis take his prize. Viserys grabs Stannis by the neck and pulling forth the full power of the Ring, Stannis is consumed in flame and is burned alive into ash. Stannis's forces are consumed with fear at seeing their great leader killed before their eyes, and they all charge against the great demon but to no avail. Viserys just hacks and hacks with his sword, their numbers seeming endless, and in a fit of rage and fear, he flees from King's Landing. Since he never bothered to establish a base of operations, and now knowing that Daenerys is against him, he flees to the ruins of Old Town, hiding in the Hightower.
With no commanders leading any of the remaining armies, they all surrender under Robb, who has finally reached King's Landing with his army. Although his sisters are no longer here, and with almost all of the Lannisters dead, Robb has gone too far to turn back now. He has his men take care of the wounded, and as Catlin helps some of the injured in the Red Keep, she gets some valuable information surrounding the execution of her husband. Far in the North however, beyond the Wall, the Night King, sensing the Ring's presence, now stronger than ever, begins his attack on the Wall, more specifically East Watch since that's where he initially wanted to attack in the original timeline. But instead of going up against a mere hundred Crows, instead finds thousands of Wildlings guarding the Wall, who manage to hold off for now. Hearing this news, Mance pulls his troops back to fully guard the Wall. Making King Robb Stark the winner of the War of Seven Kings. However, the cost of this war was severe, with hundreds of thousands now dead. To follow the line of succession, Robb would appoint Shireen as the rightful heir to the throne as a way to try and legitimize his claim as king of the North as well as to appease the other houses who proclaimed for Stannis. He would honor Daenerys's deal with Stannis and make her lady of Dragonstone. Currently, Daenerys is contemptuous of this since she never went on any real journey to learn from, yet the idea of her family's throne belonging to someone else would continue to ponder in her mind for many years yet to come. The dragons would likely head back to Essos and specifically Old Valyria since that is the natural habitat of the dragons. Littlefinger would soon arrive, swearing his loyalty to Shireen and the Starks, and saying that Yohn betrayed him for Stannis. But this does not work, since Robb and Catlin now have learned that it was Littlefinger who betrayed Ned. And I think it would be most fitting for Catlin to cut Littlefinger's throat, because of the years of suffering, manipulation, and torment caused by him. With all said and done, Robb would send the Northern armies back North, while he would continue heading South to Old Town to finish off Viserys, but when they arrive, they find the ruins abandoned. Now the hunt begins.
Back in the North, a dark cloud had formed above it, causing an early winter. Jon would likely somehow hear about the White Walkers' attack on the Wall and would meet with Mance to form an arrangement between the North and the Wildlings. In exchange for returning Rickon, the North would give the Wildlings ownership of the Wall, and help in the defense against the White Walkers. Back with Robb, he has followed the trail of Viserys for weeks now, and it appears that he has been following the western coast North, attacking villages, and trying to get the loyalty of the Iron Islands. When they refused, however, Viserys used the Ring's power to topple the cliffs and the Iron Islands are no more. Theon and Yara can survive this, yet where they go is still unknown, I would guess Dorne, in search of asylum.
Back North, the Wildlings have decided to give Jon Rickon at the Blackfort, a place surrounded by mountain ranges making it very difficult to bring any army through. So Jon only brings Arya, the Hound, and a small force to the summit. At first, the exchange would go smoothly, until a voice in the winds would announce the arrival of the dragonlord, Viserys. He had hoped that the Wildlings would bow before him like the Dothraki savages in Essos, but to his surprise, finds them more defiant and more stubborn since Wildlings bow to no one. Viserys attacks the Blackfort with all his might, causing the cliffs around them to collapse and forcing the Wildlings to flee, and the Starks retreat, now with Rickon. As Viserys sets his sights on the Starks, seeing them as his enemies, he attempts to kill them and get his revenge on Robb. However, Jon intersects him, to try to give Arya and Rickon time to escape. Similar to how he fought the army of the dead for his friends to escape in the original timeline. In a last-ditch effort to protect his family, Jon charges at Viserys with Longclaw, and when their swords collide, Jon falls. It takes a few seconds for Viserys to realize it, but he sees that Jon chopped off his fingers, severing his connection to the Ring for the first time in years. With that, the great Firelord demon transforms back into human form, and due to the amount of destruction around him. Viserys falls off the cliffs and become nothing more but a stain on the rocks. The Hound takes the two remaining Stark children back to Winterfell, Rickon is afraid but glad to be back with his family, but Arya will forever remain traumatized from watching her brother's death before her.
News of Viserys's death would spread throughout the realm, the dark cloud now dissipating, and the last of Viserys's forces retreating to Essos. Although Jon's body was completely destroyed, Winterfell still honors by creating a monument in the crips where the shattered remains of Longclaw. Jon the Redeemer would now live in infamy. I can also see Rickon being betrothed to Shireen as a way to keep the North independent and the realm at relative peace. The location of the One Ring would be unknown to most of the realm. While some would deny its existence, others would definitely be searching for such a powerful weapon. The Ring itself would be lost in the Blackfort mountains, but would soon be picked up by another. After the Wildlings raided his home and the Night's Watch fell, he fled South in search of refuge, and Olly would find the One Ring, and will take it high within the mountains, never to be seen again.

House Lannister. House Lannister values image, power and legacy.
A Lannister can often be described as cunning, scheming, regal, selfish, rich, and protective of their own.
Lady Elyana. Gold ringlets. Emeralds for eyes. Shapely. Motherly. Determined. The precious jewel. ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ.

โPERSONALITY
โ caring - cunning - passionate - multi-facetedโ
Her greatest gift is knowing how to listen and help others. Very precise and tidy, she puts rigor and determination in everything she does. She does not lack the curiosity to also inquire about aspects that do not fall within her personal interests.
Elyana is also a person attached to memories, to the past, and if she feels a danger or a difficult situation she tends to hole up in her shell and raise her armor. She doesn't like to show weakness to those around her since that would be to her disadvantage. She is not a person who hides her feelings, apart from the sad ones but also anger, she knows how to manage the rest very easily and as she likes.
Before trusting, she needs to be convinced of the goodness of others. She knows very well that among royalty it is difficult to trust someone as this person could then use the information given to her for purposes that are to one's disadvantage. In short, it is a situation to be avoided and that is why she must be careful.
She is equipped with a strong sense of protection towards her family (or at least the people she appreciates in her family) and towards the people close to her.
Don't expect to get to know the real Elyana anytime soon. The lady lets you see the version of herself that she decides and it is rare that she shows all her facets as soon as she meets someone.
She has an iron memory and collects all kinds of things worthy of importance. Difficult and sometimes mysterious. She lives between two worlds, the external one seen as a game, an adventure, and the internal one, full of memories, fantasy, feelings.
Distinctive characteristics of Elyana are: a great sweetness, fidelity, vanity, shrewdness, manipulation, great intuitive skills, ambition, lightheartedness, great culture and exceptional memory.
โโง๐ชโฑโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฐ๐ชโงโ
โ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Elyana grew up with the Lannisters. After her father and brother died, she was brought to court to be with her uncle Tywin and her cousins, Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei.
She is close to Tyrion since they are only seven years apart and he is the 'kindest' in that family.
She has a strange relationship with Cersei and Jamie. It's a love and hate relationship to be precise.
They wouldn't hesitate to kill her if she did something that they might not like of course, but that's a family thing to do at any minor inconvenience. However, sometimes...rarely they can be 'kind', especially Jaime.
โโง๐ชโฑโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโฐ๐ชโงโ
โ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Blonde, beautiful, intriguing, powerful, Machiavellian, vain, like her powerful family, always at the center of gossip and mysteries.
With her angelic, flawless face, she looks innocent and calm, but remember, even things that seem harmless can hurt and be dangerous ...
Constantly described as a femme fatale and a ruthless conspirator, she has acquired a reputation as a skilled politician and shrewd diplomat despite her young age.
Generally she is a vain and lively girl, but don't make her angry, unless you want to suffer her wrath.
The forbidden and the impossible are things that attract the young Lannister, perhaps given her young age or perhaps just for her curiosity and desire to discover things.
Interests
Elyana is passionate about alchemy, chemical experiments ... She is above all good at mixing arsenic and antimony, silver nitrate and Saturn's sugar (Lead acetate is sweet to the taste; in ancient Rome it was the main component of Saturn, a sweetener produced by boiling and concentrating the must in lead pots. The proven toxicity of lead salts has meant that their use as a sweetener has been abandoned).
โ Family
She had an older brother who unfortunately died after becoming seriously ill.The girl has suffered a lot from this and it is still a sensitive enough subject for her.
Her father died shortly after her brother. He had gone hunting with some of his companions and was "supposedly" injured by a wild boar, as a result, the man died of an infection to the wound which was already serious itself.
Elyana suspects her uncle Tywin of ordering to kill her father, since he was a possible threat to Tywin's high rank in society.
Elyana doesn't really have a strong bond with her uncle and cousins, except Tyrion. While Cersei and Jaime are ready to do anything to protect each other, Elyana only thinks about doing what seems to be right and the best option in certain circumstances. She isn't as spiteful as the rest of her family and that's why she only and barely tolerates them.
โ Love interest
Robb Stark
What started as a strange connection and tension between the two turned into a love they could not hide from anymore.
Their love is dangerous and who knows if they're destined to survive or to fall.
