Out of all of the situations you’ve put yourself in these past few weeks, this is, by far, the most reckless. Which is saying something. Not only did you disobey Dan’s specific orders not to go to a party (although, frankly, he can go fuck himself), but you went to a party with your lover. And not only did you go to a party with your lover, but he introduced you as his girlfriend to his family. Exacerbating circumstances include (but are not limited to): staying the night with him in a hotel, drinking all day in the hot sun, and displaying affection very publicly.

It’s like the stars aligned for it to happen. Dan had a softball tournament 100 miles away all weekend and wouldn’t be back until Sunday night. Javi was already planning on going to his cousin’s house in San Antonio for a party, and asked if you wanted to come with him. When you told him yes, he called around and got a hotel room for the night, then came over to watch you freak out about what to wear for a half an hour. You were finally satisfied with a red slip dress adorned with a white floral pattern.

“See, it coordinates with your outfit because you’re wearing a white shirt,” you told him while applying red lipstick in the vanity mirror.

He smiled and shook his head, eyes glued to your ass, “Whatever you say, cariño.”

On the ride out, he tried his best to prepare you for what was to come. Being that you have 36 first cousins, you were raised in the world of chaotic family gatherings. However, you haven’t seen your extended family in years, and, thus, are out-of-practice.

“Now, you don’t have to drink everything they try to give you. Because they will try to liquor you up to extract information,” he ran his hand over his face and sighed, taking his eyes off the road, glancing down at your hand, “You should take off your engagement ring.”

“Oh, sure. I never think about it, sorry,” heat rose to your face as you took it off, dropping it into your wallet for safekeeping.

“I don’t know what would be worse: everyone finding out you’re engaged to another man or everyone thinking we’re engaged,” he chuckled.

A pain radiated through your chest as you winced and mumbled, “Yeah, because being engaged to me would be horrible.”

“Fuck, that’s not- I didn’t mean it like that. I- I mean my family would jump all over you with a million questions,” he stumbled, shifting in his seat, “I don’t think that… that would be horrible. I, um, I hope that some day I’ll be able-“

“You don’t… have to tell me that, Javi, it’s fine. I get it,” you smiled weakly and lit a cigarette, rolled the window down. An awkward silence settled until you sighed, “Besides, being engaged to me isn’t that great. I heard I’m kind of a slut.”

“Well that’s perfect, I love sluts,” he grinned over at you boyishly.

You laughed and rolled your eyes at him, “I love you.”

As soon as you opened the door to hop out of Javi’s truck, you knew this was going to be a wild day. The music playing in the backyard could be heard a half a block away. You brushed off your dress and shook your hands out nervously before he strode over to embrace you and whisper, “Try not to worry, baby, they don’t bite,” into your hair before kissing you, transferring a tint of red lipstick onto his lips.

You laughed, “Red is a good color on you,” before helping him wipe it off.

The rumblings of conversation grew louder with every step up to the house. The moment he swung the door open, time started to blur. A blur of faces, names, foods, drinks, questions, comments. More than once you were compared to Lorraine; you still didn’t know what to make of that. Apparently, that’s the only girlfriend he has introduced to his family in the past 15 years. You ate so much food you thought you would fucking explode, but wished you could have somehow eaten more because it was so delicious. Javi’s cousins offered you a few drinks, which you graciously accepted, not heeding his warning, because you figured the alcohol would counteract the anxiety.

As predicted, his cousins Jose and Ricardo did try to divulge information once you had a few drinks under your belt. Javi went to go to the bathroom while you were sitting at a table, tapping your foot to the music, just looking around, observing people. The duo sat down at the table, then Jose asked how you met his cousin.

“Well,” you squinted and tilted your head, then leaned forward towards him, “We actually met a few years ago here in San Antonio. He um-” a loud laugh flew out of your mouth, “I was out with my roommate, and they went home together, ditching me at the club.”

“No shit?” Jose laughed, throwing his head back, “What an idiot.”

“We ended up talking and watching the movie IT after she went to bed. And then we got to talk more and, um, stuff when he came to visit her again,” you nodded, looking away when heat rose to your face at the implication of and, um, stuff in that sentence.

“I swear, I remember this happening,” Ricardo told you, his warm brown eyes sparkling, animated face expressing freely as he talked, “He stayed with me for a few days while he was back from Columbia. He went home with some chicks while he was here, you know how he is- er, was. But I remember this time because he came back at 5am, waking me up, telling me about ‘I watched the killer clown movie with this girl’ like, what the fuck dude let me go back to sleep?”

“That is me, I am that girl!” you smiled from ear-to-ear, pointing to yourself.

“Look, he wouldn’t want me to tell you this, but,” Ricardo leaned in to spill the tea as Jose started laughing at his brother’s antics, “When he came back after seeing you the second time, he was talking about ‘I think I found her’, like ‘I didn’t even feel this connection with Lorraine, it was fucking crazy’ and I just tried to tell him that he needs to get some sleep, man.”

You laughed and your face hurt from smiling so big, “He’s never told me that before, that’s so sweet.” Instead of basking in the after glow of the saccherine story, you feel something ugly gnawing at your brain. It's that fucking name again. After looking around to make sure Javi isn’t nearby, you inquired, “So… what's the deal with Lorraine?”

The mood immediately shifted from playful secret telling to something markedly more serious. They looked at each other, then Ricardo sat back and shook his head as if to say I’m not touching this one. Jose leaned forward, “What has he told you?”

“That it was a relationship that didn’t work out,” you responded with a shrug, then took a swig of beer.

“I guess that’s one way of putting it,” Ricardo howled, shaking his head, “That fucking guy.”

“They were engaged,” Jose explained, ignoring his brother.

“Oh, shit, really?” your eyes widened.

He was fucking engaged? Why would he hide that from me?

“Yeah… yeah. He uhh… he left her at the alter,” Jose grimaced.

“What is?” Javi questioned as he pulled out the chair on the beside you and sat down, leaning in towards the conversation.

I’m going to save all my worrying about the Lorraine thing for later. Maybe never. Maybe I can just forget I ever knew.

Trying to avoid turning into a complete shit show and embarrassing yourself, you tapered off your drinking after this. When the sun started to go down, you and Javi bid everyone farewell so you could go check into the hotel. “We were together for years. We were… engaged,” he sighs, looking down at his hands, then back up to meet your eyes, “I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t… right. It wasn’t real. I backed out.”

“That’s not the saying,” you scoff, “It’s the rooster always comes home to the chicken.”

The Personal Bit ☆

ALRIGHT, masks off besties. Are they your OTP? Cause they’re my OTP too, and we should consider bursting into flames about it together (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

I didn't think I’d participate with writing this year, until about a week before the event, when I was frying-panned with some notions. As a fellow bearer of the curse, it started with a seedling of Kagome looking out for Inuyasha in the modern era, whether she realised it or not and even if, logically, she knew better, and snowballed from there. So, I blasted through each prompt with the intention of keeping them short, and after a survey back, each chapter grew deceptively longer, and I thought: why not add a stair [100 words] to Kagome's case for each day?

This particular canon universe is approached thusly: the prompt is the starting point, and the characters do the rest. I don't control the narrative, the narrative controls me, type thing. Hence, chapters are plot-negative, and times skips are abundant. Anyway. Enough waxing!

Note: I am working with the Viz English translation of the Inuyasha manga with some anime filler for seasoning, and the timeframe for the 3-year separation falls loosely between 1998-2001.

Prompt Breakdown ☆

Day 1: Love Language(s)

Summary: Kagome's been distracted. Or, I hc that Kagome spent a good amount of time away with the fairies (and trying to catch up with school) when she first got back. Thoughts and Feels:

Love Language(s) were coined in 1992; the likelihood of them being such a commonly adopted phrase/ideology was as slim as Kagome knowing what her friends were going on about. They're a relatively new conception of navigating romance, but that doesn't mean buzzwords didn't make it into those teen mags we remember so well, though! Point for fuck it we ball!

For better or worse, friends are gonna be a tad nosy, and Kagome’s definitely were. Consistently and without fail:

Chapter 23, Volume 3, Mask of Flesh ☆

—and how else to feel her “snapping back into the room” in 100 words, if not when confronted with mathematics?

Chapter 411, Volume 42, The Kind One ☆

Fun Fact: There is a small high chance I spent the most time on this one overall because trying to spin a tale in 100 words is wild.

Day 2: Possession

Summary: Kagome acts on impulse. Or, I hc that uncanny resemblances might ruin a girl's day out. Thoughts and Feels:

Okay, yeah, okay, technically the baseball cap didn't happen in the manga. But this is why filler episodes are good for the ecosystem, or something.

Shock can have a lot of side effects. Confusion, agitation, complete and utter lack of personal or road safety (to name a few), and in Kagome's case here, shoving Inuyasha-shaped familiarity under her nose when she least expected it had her acting up, because not only has the well been sealed off for X time, she was used to him acting up whenever he stepped foot in the modern era:

Her friends still care, though! Cause that's what friends are for! As wild of a creature as Kagome can be, they're aware of her “struggles” with her health, and are oddly used to her odd ways:

Day 3: Safe

Summary: Kagome's has a nightmare. Or, I hc that a brave face doesn't do much when she's at her most vulnerable. Thoughts and Feels:

If you've ever had nightmares/night terrors/sleep paralysis, you'll know how, well, terrifying they can be. Lucid states between sleep and wakefulness has a nasty way of warping perceptions, and with everything Kagome witnessed, her dreamscapes had to be vivid, especially after her stint in the jewel, where reality and fantasy blurred real bad, and what's worse, it taunted her about it:

Chapter 554, Volume 56, High School Life ☆

To further that point, Inuyasha gets brutal - beheadings, graphic slaughterings (sometimes at the hands of an MC eheh), you know, justgirlythings - and therefore toned down for television, as anime adaptations often are. Kagome was 15, and while she did that, it would leave a mark. Trauma, guys. We're talking about trauma now.

If the reference was caught during her tiny tale: the scene with Mama H being shook to fuck over her baby glowing is anime-only, but I really dig the idea that she knew something was up with Kagome from Day 0, really aided in reasoning why she was so okay with her daughter doing all that, thank you for understanding. Another point for filler!

Fun Fact: I…barely remember writing this one, actually, truly, read it back a week later like: don't know her. I love her like any proud mother, though!

Day 4: Modern

Summary: Kagome asks a question she doesn’t like the answer to. Or, I hc that curiosity killed the cat. Thoughts and Feels:

The trickiest one, in terms of setting. I spent too much time looking into the availability and flavours of historical records in Tokyo (particularly 2000ish, bc digital archives weren't that hot then) and came to the conclusion that while yes, it was possible for her to gain access to [something], no, it wasn't very likely she'd come across any death records, (specifically Koseki) for her friends, with the added bonus that family names are notably lacking until 1868. But take Kagome's resourcefulness + Japan's love for paperwork, and it led me here – to some kinda fake archive with fake books and fake names that could potentially be somebody that she used to know. And while I try my best to be respectful of the people and the setting I'm writing within, I asked myself bluntly, if I really gave a fuck about being accurate in this regard/fictional setting, and the answer was also: no. There isn't a Sunset Shrine either, so a fictional National Archives with The Right Documents there shall be.

Of all the Fuedal-Inuyasha characters, I feel like Sango is the one that would have Done Something to leave a mark, somewhere written on paper. You know...Badass Women For Agriculture Union [codeword for demon slaying], something. Yeah, Miroku was a holy man, but we're not talking about history right now, we're talking about Herstory.

And finally, that moment. The one where Kagome almost cracked and unleashed self-inflicted rage on some guy, cause time didn't cease to exist for them. The thing about Kagome, apart from her being an all round great character, is that she isn't tame, nor timid, and certainly no shrinking violet. But where she's brash and loud and (sometimes) quick to anger, she's also kind. And reasonable, and at the core, a wonderful person, and that duality is what makes her so lovable, relatable, and fun to write. Lookit her:

Chapter 175, Volume 185, Where They First Met ☆

Fun Fact: I really wanted to point out that Kagome was supposed to be in her high school uniform, but writing restriction said naur. Irrelevant. Also, this is my favourite chapter. Weird, right? Haha?

Day 5: Heat

Summary: Kagome hears a bump in the night. Or, I hc that stranger things have occurred than a random bout of sleepwalking while living with PTID (Post Traumatic Isekai Disorder). Thoughts and Feels:

There was a small blip in time where this chapter skewed Mature. Explicit, even. Something about imagining a certain someone in a compromising position, but then the wind changed direction, and I went for literal heat. Japanese summers are stifling, and heat...is hot. Ace card, go!

Lunar charts and such: they don't add up when you compare two points in time, 500 years apart. But there could still be some peculiar celestial moon stuff that led a sleep-deprived Kagome to have a gander at the moon, especially when it's new.

Chapter 140, Volume 15, The Other Side of the Well ☆

Inuyasha had a brilliant way of turning up when she least expected him, or staying away when she wanted to see him the most. There are little things that happen, like an open window or remnants of a dream that might stay with her upon waking, to lead her to think-maybe it was him?

Chapter 287, Volume 29, Mimisenri ☆

BEHIND THE SCENES REVEAL: Kagome was the one who opened her door and tried to feed the cat, but it didn't work, because sleepwalkers are silly. Easter Eggy Subtext: Buyo is the catalyst, but Kagome is the key. Think about it.

Chapter 494, Volume 50, Two Worlds ☆

Day 6: Courting

Summary: Kagome tries her best. Or, I hc that Kagome gives it the old college effort, a la jewel illusion. Thoughts and Feels:

Kagome's family want the best for her. Kagome's friends are boy-crazy hen-peckers. Hojo is cute, and has always shown an interest in Kagome. Therefore: it would be wild to assume she didn't at least say yes, once, to going out with him, even if she knew it really wasn't going to go anywhere:

Chapter 140, Volume 15, The Other Side of the Well ☆

Sometimes you have to do things to understand how much you don't want to do that thing. At this point in time, Kagome's coming up for graduation, she's spent almost 3 years dealing with everything that happened to her, and she's not a complete tool. However, the mind wanders, especially when you'd rather someone else's company:

She's going to give the modern era one last shot – because while romance isn't everything, it can be part of something – before throwing in the towel and saying fuck it, I tried. And as Kagome's will Kagome, she'd want to make an effort for the sake of others:

Day 7: Smile

Summary: Kagome comes home. Or, I hc that Kagome finally puts her wants, needs and feelings first, and those might suspiciously man-shaped. Thoughts and Feels:

Yeahyeah, the “I never thought I'd write this”, we've all seen it. But it's true! Never thought I'd write a chapter retelling, and this one is that fact's poster child. They aren't my bag (to read or to write) but the ending was there all along, obviously:

Chapter 494, Volume 50, Two Worlds ☆

The right wish, the wrong wish, a selfish wish, a selfless wish – as many Isekai's go, wish fulfilment is a huge part of the narrative (not just for Kagome, but so many of the characters) but she, unlike others, had a huge weight on her shoulders about making the right one that I wanted to tease out that moment where she gets it:

Are you sure you're supposed to be there, Miss Thing? Life doesn't end just because you finished a job, or have to feel beholden to a sense of home. Home can be anywhere! Home can be a person! You can do it, bestie. Do it for her! Her is you! Go Kagome!

Chapter 79, The Fruits of Evil ☆

She made her dreams – from acing school, to making her family proud, to seeing Inuyasha again – a reality. There's really nothing more I can say about that, it's all there. She chose herself! And that included him! Ain't that neat!

Fun Fact: In Japanese, Inuyasha calls her a baka. In the scanlation, he calls her an idiot. In the English sub/dub, he calls her an idiot. In the Viz translation (the one I refer to most) he calls her a fool. Imho, in English, he says idiot, cause Inuyasha has zero respect and carries that no-finesse kind of rizz. Bless him.

Bonus Fun Fact: Chapters like this are why I'm such a flaming monster about writing advice being a tool, not a rule. Those last two lines, without the use of But and And at the beginning, would not carry the same weight and timing I wanted to achieve, therefore, you can pry them as sentence starters out of my cold, dead hands.

When Anastasia was born, her name was given as a path of life. Her mother having had been one of the most famous ballerinas for the Russian Ballet, it only made sense to give her daughter the name of one of the most sought-after roles for dancers. At the time, her parents had no idea just how big of a force she was going to be in the ballet realm. As others took steps, Anastasia took leaps. She was quickly the favorite in every studio she walked into, and she also managed to be the top of her class in academics as well. Even when making the switch from a public school to a prestigious performing arts school when she was in middle school, Anastasia never faltered in the changes in her life. From Clara in The Nutcracker, to Odette and Odile in Swan Lake, her talent well proceeded her and her mother gracefully handed on the baton of the ballet legacy when she retired. Though, Anastasia loved ballet; the discipline and well as the freedom, she also began to struggle when her mother retired. It was then, that she wasn't dancing for herself anymore, but living a life her mother could live vicariously through. At least she still had figure skating. Figure skating was something that was fully Anastasia's. Even when she was first competing, she loved the adrenaline rush that came from being on the ice. After the induction into the NYC Ballet, after touring headlining shows and juggling a social life and her figure skating, Anastasia told her mother that she wanted to pursue a higher education in mass communications. She received a full-ride scholarship (though she didn't need it) for an accelerated program in journalism and mass communications because of her GPA and outstanding SAT scores to NYU. Her father was the one who wouldn't let her pass it up. Suddenly, Anastasia's name is plastered all over the papers when her competition broke their ankle. Now having to compete in a placement that was given to her on a technicality, Anastasia is battling the negative headlines whilst trying to clean her family name. Ana is currently residing in Merrock as her family's beach house to try to get some of the pressure from the press off of her.

► DEEP DIVE

Anastasia is a force to be reckoned with; She's not afraid to speak her mind, and competition runs in her veins. If she wants something, she goes and gets it, and may no one get stuck in her path. Though she can be intense in these ways, she also has a warmth to her that draws people in. Elegant, soft, and almost whimsical - Anastasia can never truly fit in anywhere. If anything, she sticks out like a sore thumb. This aspect about her either makes her well-loved or disliked (some may write her off as pretentious or snobby), depending on the person. She loves art history due to her father being an art historian and growing up listening to all sorts of foreign fairytales and mythology. She's a hopeless romantic, but tends to self sabotage relationships. She enjoys dancing in the rain and making life cinematic at any and every opportunity. She's genuinely kind, and at the end of the day she'll make anyone laugh without knowing she's being funny. She's just drawn as a villian but has such a soft girl vibe.She's just guarded to a default due to coming from old money on her father's side and experiencing people trying to use her/them to get to the fortune.

Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold Steve Austin pt 2

So before I begin I must give my apologies if you were waiting on this as I've been backed up with other projects. Next I wanna give all proper credit to Wrestling Bios on YouTube, his reliving the war series made this a whole lot easier instead of having to look up various different resources to put this series together, and if you arent subscribed to his channel you can click this link here!

he reviews classic games like No Mercy, WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF Attitude and Warzone if youre nostalgic for those games. if not here we are!

So the next night on Raw after No Way Out of Texas, DX were said to be pursuing legal advice following their loss to Steve's team. The broadcast airs a vignette with Chyna and its showcasing her achievements so far...and ends with her receiving a Stone Cold Stunner at the previous nights PPV. They aren't on the show tonight..but that stunner was pretty damn funny still.

The following week on Raw, DX cut a promo from Shawn's house. Triple H mentioned that the only way for Raw to raise its rating was for them to come to Shawns house, and if they get ratings from chaos then the next 4 weeks are about to set the nielsen rating books on fire. Shawn says Owen, Steve, and Mike Tyson are due to be on Raw the next week in Cleveland and that would be a great place to start raising hell and so the best place to end it is at...YOU GUESSED IT....WRESTLEMANIA. Shawn not only confirms but guarantees the match with Steve at Mania. Triple H says to the camera that from here on out, Wrestlemania is going to be X Rated...(of course they changed it to DX rated).

The next week on RAW opens up with DX, and Triple H says "The road to Wrestlemania Begins tonight, Wrestlemania is X Raided (Rated whatever), Parents need to get their childrens permission because discretion is advised, but will be completely ignored." When Shawn takes the mic, he says DX are going to make Tyson an offer he cant refuse, and should he refuse he wont ever forget DX and thats a promise (his words not mine). He then says Steve is going to face the Showstopper, The Icon, The Main Event (you know that 97 Shawn Michaels spiel) and hes going to show that the toughest S.O.B in the WWF isn't tough enough to deal with the Heartbreak Kid. Shawn tells Steve to put on his dancing shoes because hes going to taste some Sweet Chin Music tonight..and of course Steve makes his way down to the ring and right before he gets a chance to square up with Shawn the lights go out and Kane makes his way down while Shawn and DX manage to escape...of course Steve is pissed. A lil later Tyson arrives with Shane McMahon.

Later on in the night Tyson comes down to the ring with Vince and the pre-Corporation keep in mind the crowd is booing. In the ring, Vince asks Tyson if hes going to be the enforcer or is Austin going to enforce his own rules..all questions will be answered at Wrestlemania and the crowd boos even louder (I dont blame them i wouldve booed McMahon too. Right when Mike is about to speak DX music hits and they come down to the ring. Shawn snatches the mic from Vince and says his name isnt Steve Austin and DX isnt here to disrespect Tyson as thats not their style. But they will call people out face to face. Shawn says to Tyson he should make no mistake hes looking at the WWF champ and the champ is calling him out right here right now..BOYYYYY (Yeah he really called him boy, not sure in what context but moving on) After agreeing to a throwdown, Shawn clears the ring out. Tyson dares Shawn to hit him and after a little suspense building Shawn rips his WWF Attitude shirt off to reveal a DX shirt and the crowd goes WILD.

They really werent feeling this until he was revealed i thought that was insane as a kid but getting older and seeing celebrities come in and out of the WWE. I realized why just didnt know it was going on back in 1998. But regardless, still this was great. Just this shot alone.

Before he gets in his car to leave the arena, Tyson is being hounded by Michael Cole with Cole asking Tyson about what just happened and MIke says that Stone Cold is going to get knocked out cold at Wrestlemania, he shuts the door and drives off. At the end of the night Steve was scheduled to go against Kane. While making his way down to the ring he notices Triple H standing on the stage so of course he goes after him, Shawn comes from behind out of nowhere with a Sweet Chin Music as soon as Steve turns around.

One thing I want to mention about the March 2nd episode of Raw. This was the night the scratch logo officialy made its way into the stage display, going from the simplistic curtain and titantron combo to now having an arch like structure with the logo situated right in the back...ahhh good times. This version of the logo was prototype as hell and it makes me cringe especially when you see they had a more proper version of the logo in the scaffolding on the sides of the stage, but its still history nonetheless.

The following week on the March 9th episode of Raw. Triple H comes out with Chyna and once again reminds the crowd that Wrestlemania is going to be X Raided (Rated). Talks about how Chyna got into Owens head last week and this week, she might get physical if she wanted to, he then tells the crowd Shawn isnt there and of course they boo. After cutting to a replay of last weeks Superkick to Austin, Shawn is shown in a diner. He says thst Tyson joining DX changes everything at Wrestlemania. He then says whats even sweeter than that is the fact that Shawn said last week Steve is going to taste Sweet Chin Music, he proved Steve is just like everyone who steps up to HBK. He gets dead serious when he says the old line "HBK doesnt lay down for anybody and hes certainly not going to lay down for Steve at Wrestlemania. Steve is nothing more than a fad when HBK will always be IN in the WWF... (hmm yeah we'll see about that sir). Shawn is going to knock him down and drag him out and he's going to walk out of Wrestlemania the WWF champion..and Triple H says if youre not down with that then they've got TWO WORDS FOR YA!!!! Before taking a seat at the commentary table right before Owens match.

And it seems someone who had two words for Triple H..

Annnnnd of course during Owens match with Barry Windham (Bray Wyatts namesake), Chyna gets involved and causes the DQ.

Would ya look at that face, she really put her all into that low blow didnt she?

At the end of the night Raw airs an interview with J.R and Tyson.

Mike says he is excited to be working in the WWF, but he was skeptical on how he would be received..looking back on the episode when he joined DX, he wasn't wrong but the reveal must've lead to a pleasant surprise to him with him being cheered on. J.R asks him how he feels about Austin shoving him the night after the Royal Rumble. He admits Austin pissed him off but he cant wait to get his hands on him at Wrestlemania. Jim asks him abotu his role in DX and warns that Triple H and Shawn use people to get ahead and Tyson said pretty straightforward that every body is using everybody including the guy giving the interview. Last words of the interview pertain to whether or not he will be a fair ref and Mike says life hasnt been fair to him and he ended it with "fair is winning". Its like I get where he was going but that shit went completely left. Im sure Mike knew it didnt make sense but look at that face, does it look like he cares? As long as the checks are cleared, he's good.

Now on to the main event of the night.. Triple H vs Savio Vega. Now because Austin made his threats security are heavy out there and mere fucking seconds after the bell rings...

Shoved the ref and head of security..with his old ass...WHATS THE POINT OF ELDERLY HEADS OF SECURITY BACK IN THE DAYS..(DOUG DILLINGER IM LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU). But back to the match..... STUNNERS FOR EVERYONE... and by everyone I mean Savio

And after laying almost everybody out he turns around into a big surprise...

And down goes Austin....

And Shawn almost went down too

Keep in mind his back was out of commission at this time and he wasn't supposed to be getting physical..but like the team player he is.. he plays it off even though you can see it in his face.

Now this night Raw pulls one of Nitros signatures and leaves the crowd on a cliffhanger when DX has Austin prepped up for the chair shot...they go off the air...not kidding check it out.

They literally went off the air right when Shawn cocked back for the swing LOL.

Next week on Raw sees a lot of hype videos since Wrestlemania is officially two weeks away. The first hype video is of course of Shawn, Michael Cole is jocking for position on Shawns...nevermind... hes giving him his flowers saying why hes synonymous with Wrestlemania, the glitz, the glamour, the pomp and pagentry...sounds like someone describing British traditional ceremonies (not a shot, I rock with the Brits...seriously lets party)

A very glitzy and glamourous man indeed...

We have a promo segment with Vince McMahon and Kevin Kelly (Yes Kevin Kelly from New Japan for all the younger wrestling fans). Vince starts off by saying his in ring meeting with Steve was unfortunate and unprofessional. They show a replay when Steve flips Vince off and Mr. McMahon says he didnt appreciate that and this was again very unprofessional. Vince then says it was Austin that was stunned when Shawn brought out Mike Tyson to join DX. A clip shows Austin offering Vince a free shot that he refused to take. Vince said Austin wouldve had a broken jaw if he took it. Another clip shows Austin kicking Vince out of the ring and Vince said he obliged because it wouldnt look good to see the boss drop Steve's punk ass...no he didnt say the punk ass part but he did let his "grapefruits" hang on this night..everyone including Jerry Lawler found it hilarious. One question remains unanswered and its if Mcmahon wants to see Steve as WWF champ.. and its not just a simple "no" its a "OH HELL NO!!'

Vince was definitely breaking out of his shell as an on screen character isnt he? ...cant wait to cover the feud between him and Austin.

Anywho...afterwards they show a Steve Austin hype package.

DX havent really been featured tonight but while Owen was on commentary, Triple H comes down unannounced.

A pissed off Helmsley comes down talking mad trash and gets in his face calling him less than a man for stealing the European championship. He says he wants a match tonight for the belt.

Owen tells Triple H to wait until Mania so to get under Owens skin and make sure he gets his wish, he mushes Owen in the face.

If "I'm going to kick this guys fuckin ass" was a facial expression this would definitely be it.

They begin to brawl. And since theres a referee on hand, it seems as if we have a title match boys and girls! While brawling, Triple H gets thrown into the steps, once they get in the ring, the bell rings. After the match starts they spill back to the outside and this time Owen gets thrown in to the ringpost. Triple H causes a distraction looking like a medieval wench..

Was I wrong? (best jokes in the comments)

But Chyna comes from behind with a baseball bat and smacks Owens injured leg. Once Owen is rolled back into the ring, Triple H puts him in a submission hold and the referee calls for the bell.

Triple H won his title back and tells Owen hes going to send him back to Calgary in a wheelchair if he shows up to Wrestlemania. He then says he has two words for him..

Next up...the go home show before Wrestlemania!

Today's mix:

DJ-Kicks: Stereo MC's by Stereo MC's 2000 Breakbeat / Breaks / Hip Hop / Trip Hop / Downtempo

Here we get a smörgåsbord of selections that reveal some of the all too wild depths of UK hip hop and electronic group Stereo MC's' very own collective record crates. If you've never heard of these guys before, they tore up the early 90s back home with their third LP, Connected, and then they didn't release another album of any kind until this mix from '99/2000, as a part of Berlin label !K7's own consistently brilliant DJ-Kicks series.

So, this set in particular, which I think is the first mix that they ever released commercially, sees the Stereo guys weaving together a deeply-grooved, heady, and flat-out stoned tapestry that seems to be made of some of their absolute favorite tracks, both classic and contemporaneous, and in totality, makes for a deadly grab-bag that combines old school breaks, superb rap tunes, and psychotropically subterranean downtempo, trip hop, and breakbeat instrumentals.

And while this description should already sell you on just how good this thing is, there's also something else: a few separate times throughout this journey, the Stereo boys take a hip hop a cappella and match it to a very different instrumental than the one it had originally been paired with. Witness what they do with the Ultramagnetic MC's' 1992 song, "Poppa Large," by laying it over the very obscure Soul Circuit revision of The Freakniks' "Tell Me Why" from 1997. And then wait for the mix to proceed to the next track, where they let the instrumental from The Disco Four's 1981 tune, "Do It, Do It" ride for a little bit, until they drop "Poppa Large" on that beat too! Then later on, listen to what they pull off with ephemeral rap trio The Associates' 1998 song, "From the Ground Up," and Freddy Fresh's "Roller Rinks and Chicks" from that same year. All of it's so good! 😎

Not a bad word to say about this thing. Unpredictable, wig-splitting madness with a tracklist that spans across decades. Another timeless banger from the eclectic and unwavering DJ-Kicks series 😤.
