Crazy idea: in the ROTTMNT universe, after hearing about these sightings and encounters with these mutant turtle ninja guys named after Renaissance artists Hollywood gets a crazy idea and produces two movies with deadly accuracy about them

These are the live-action TMNT movies

The ROTTMNT turtles proceed to watch and make fun of the live action movies

And then during the Big Crossover™️, they are absolutely flabbergasted to find out these guys are real

So you know in Spider verse they all end up in Miles' universe?

The turtles don't do that...

No they appear in a giant space that quickly turn into woods since they all are comfortable there.

Not all turtles show up here, just some. A total of 20 turtles, 11 humans, and five rat dads...and one goat dad.

They're all confused at first but soon introduce themselves.

Rise!Raph is the only one not interested in interacting and decides to look around.

Missing everyone's reaction to his universe being the youngest there.

Though one other Splinter noticed him separate and followed, catching other Splinters attention.

Lou, who decided to go with that nickname, was amused by both his son and worrywart counterpart.

Everyone gets along fairly well despite being different (Rise Crew) and a few disagreements were fixed before escalating.

87 and 03 being the two older groups immediately adopted the others.

Bay and 12 being older than the Rise group takes them under their wing.

Rise being the funky little gremlin bastards they are cause chaos that you would expect from your favorite younger sibling/cousin.

I want to say they have a giant mansion where they stay together but nope, they all have personal cabins in the forest.

Sometimes the Rise crew feel left out when their older counterparts decide to hang out with each other instead and shoo them away.

Look they love Rise Crew but the turtles feel a bit off put by them sometimes, they do feel guilty when they see their faces drop in disappointment (Donnie, Mikey) or acceptance (Leo, Raph).

Rise and 87 Jones knows where all the secrets and stuff are in the unending forest. Sometimes a Splinter joins them but mostly Grandpa Jones.

Red usually goes off on his own more, sometimes dragging Purple with him, they later find out about a beautiful waterfall that the two soak in silence in.

Honestly good for them, they all need a break.

I guess my questions are, how did you discover the TMNT? And if you had to pick, which version of the turtles would be your favorites? Thank you very much in advance!! 😊

Thank you! That is so kind of you to say! I'm glad you have been enjoying the art explosion that is my current hyperfixation.

I am dating myself right now, but I still remember the day that the original TMNT cartoon aired on TV. I think Bravestarr was supposed to be on and, instead of playing that show, there was a notice on the screen saying the regularly scheduled show would not be showing that day. (Because I guess back then they actually gave notice for something like that?) And I remember being so bummed my show wasn't coming on. And then...THAT theme song. And I guess I was hooked on turtles ever since.

I would always check out whatever was new in the TMNT scene. Some I liked more than others, but I would eventually get to seeing what they were about.

I have a sibling who is 11 years younger than me who grew up in that small bit of time between the end of the 80's series/The Next Mutation and the 2003 series. She had the AUDACITY to say to my face that Ninja Turtles were SO WEIRD. Like it was such an off-the-wall concept to her because she didn't get that same experience as me, I guess. I still think about that often.

As far as favorite versions of the TMNT characters:

Favorite Splinter - 2012 Favorite April - Rise (though I also really love Megan Fox April. I think it's because she's just so fun to write.)

Favorite Leo - That's hard to choose. There's a lot of good Leos out there. Probably Bayverse Leo? Though it might be because I've written so much about him and I have this version of him in my head that's very specific to my tastes.

Favorite Donnie - Tie between Rise and 2003

Favorite Mikey - Rise

Favorite Raph - I have a hard time choosing with this one, too. There's a lot of good Raphs and I feel like each one of them brings something different to the table. I kinda really like the 90's movies Raph if I had to choose one.

Your thoughts on 2014 and 2016 live action tmnt movies?

I don't mind them. Yes, the turtles are CGI nightmares, but the characterization and worldbuilding is pretty cool. I like the grimy, grey, crusty NYC vibes in the same way I like Rise's neon palette. It offers something new up to the plate and I appreciate it for doing so. I actually went to watch the first movie in theaters as a kid, and I have to say that the lair and the turtle's designs were really cool. The second movie was also good, probably better than the first, but I really dislike the fact that they made Casey Jones a police officer. Like, come on, really? The Casey Jones?

Another thing I disliked was the characterization of April O'Neal. They tried to build her up and label her as this kickass woman who doesn't need any help to stand on her own, but unlike April from the 90's and 2003 shows, Bayverse April doesn't have a lot of personality. Plus, I feel like she's a bit of a plot device in the first film. I dunno, I could be wrong.

What I do like about the Bayverse was the brothers and their relationships. Mikey was entertaining, probably the best in both movies, and Raph's little "I love you" speech in the first film was a pretty heartfelt moment.

That being said, the treatment of the actors aside from Megan Fox was and still is unacceptable. I don't care if A-rate actors are more famous by default, that gave Michael Bay no right to abuse the people who were playing the main characters. I feel incredibly bad for everyone who was involved and I completely understand that even though we've come to accept the Bayverse into our fandom, we shouldn't ask for or expect new content in the future.

just saw the tmnt 2014 bay movie and tbh it was pretty fun (though i felt pretty grossed out at Certain Moments and by that i mean for example Megan Fox hanging out of the truck and the other human guy oogling her butt like. megan i’m so sorry) and now i am making a Nothing Post of Turtle Rating of how much i enjoyed them in this movie bc i need my thoughts out

donatello - very good! i’m glad they made it clear him and raph are pretty close bc i loved their relationship in 2003. “i ain’t breaking if donnie’s not breaking” and the slingshot thing and “let me be the badass for once”... very good - his design in this movie is still peak. solar panel skirt... - is this like the start of Donnie making his bo tech-y? i’m sure the rise team for example still would’ve made it a tech bo even without this movie but still, nice to see - all in all good geek guy, 9/10

leonardo - honestly he’s fine in this one but i KNOW he’s a terrible lying cop of a bastard in oots which is a shame - he tells raph to back off when raph’s threatening april but then talks to her with his swords drawn... at least raph still had his sai sheathed my guy - i like that he’s trying to be polite tho. saying “ma’am” and “please” and doing the ninja bow to april. also that he first goes “sensei” and then “dad” at splinter bc he’s worried is sweet - the fact that he gets an adrenaline overdose and goes “i wanna CLEAN! who wants to clean the dojo???” is perfect tbh. blue is the color for morons indeed - a decent leo in THIS movie. his sequel self is a 0/10 but in this movie he’s a 7/10

michelangelo - i can’t stand this mikey i’m sorry but i hate this kind of character - “she’s so hot i can feel my shell tightening” uuuughghghhHHHHHH - you were done dirty my orange boy... this version of you, i utterly despise. leave april alone pls - maybe he’s better in the sequel but this one is a 0/10

raphael - a perfect angry boy. 10/10 - why didn’t his brothers envelop him in a huge hug and tell him that they love him too after that speech. actually i changed my mind everyone else is a 0/10 just for that moment
