last night I had a dream that I told Renee Elise Goldsberry that "Thinking About Myself" from Girls5Eva was probably going to be my most listened song of the year and she asked why and I said I listen it to when I need a laugh or to feel better and she was like, "that's very sad for you."

when i was a child my absolute DREAM was to be a snooker player it was like my entire personality up until the age of about eight and sometimes i look back and ask myself why i haven't committed to that yet. all the best snooker players used to just do normal everyday jobs and then play snooker on the side and even though most of them started really young they never got proper successful or famous (not that you can get famous playing snooker these days) until they were like thirty or forty. what i'm saying is watch this space
#i am of course kidding. i know the snooker lore so well but i'm actually pretty fucking awful at it#though i've barely ever played it sober so maybe there's still hope#i feel like if you come from a certain class / culture in the uk snooker is just In There#like back when workmens socials were a big thing it was just The Thing You Do when you're out with your mates#like my dad and the guys in his family they never watched or cared about snooker but they were all really good at it#because it's like you go down the mine for the day. come home and have your bath in a bucket. go for a pint and play snooker#job done rinse and repeat#i will not do this myself because the mines are closed (thanks thatcher) and i don't drink but. in spirit. i will carry on their legacy#idk i was watching a ray reardon documentary today and it made me yearn for my childhood dream

last night i dreamt that donna tartt announced her fourth book while being the guest speaker at my cousin's funeral (yes, dreams are weird lol. willie nelson was also there) the book was in the 600-700 page range and it would be about a female mc who was a cannibal. if her fourth book mentions or alludes to cannibalism in any capacity, i called it in august 2024

well I can’t say I was incorrect about how my night was gonna be
#I’ve maybe been having the worst sleep of my life? Try to go to bed at like midnight and can’t sleep#finally do but then wake up at like 2 (maybe with a fever? Idk. I wasn’t getting chills but I was nauseous and having weird fever dreams)#I take some gravol in the hopes that the nausea will stop#It doesn’t. I wake up again about half an hour later still nauseous#go get a bowl in case I vomit#try to go back to sleep and wake up again about half an hour later#rinse and repeat for like three hours and then I wake up and realize I have to vomit for real#and now here we are. I’m pretty sure I haven’t gotten more than 2 hours of sleep tonight and I don’t feel like I’m gonna get much more#which sucks. Big time#I also still have a rockin sinus headache and throwing up made my throat hurt real bad#anyway. In hell rn but what can you do
