Kai wasn’t a morning person. That was something you learned pretty early on.

So, it didn’t surprise you when you woke up before him, still tangled in the blankets, his arm draped lazily over your waist. His face was buried in the pillow, hair sticking up in every direction, lips slightly parted as he breathed evenly.

You shifted slightly, trying to stretch, and he let out a groggy whine, pulling you closer.

“Don’t move,” he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.

“I have to pee.”

“No, you don’t.” His arm tightened, trapping you. “Stay.”

You sighed, biting back a laugh. “Kai, I’m not going anywhere. I just need to—”

“Nope.” He tucked his face against your shoulder, voice muffled. “If you leave, I’ll get cold. And then I’ll be sad. And then you’ll have to spend all day cheering me up.”

“You’re so dramatic.”

“Mmm, but you like me anyway.” His lips curved slightly against your skin, and you rolled your eyes, running a hand through his messy hair.

“Debatable.”

At that, he suddenly pulled back, squinting at you through half-lidded eyes. “What did you just say?”

You smirked. “I said… debatable.”

For a moment, he just blinked at you. Then, without warning, his hands darted to your sides.

“Kai, don’t—”

Too late. His fingers danced against your ribs, squeezing lightly, and you instantly shrieked, twisting in his hold.

“Kai, stop—!” you gasped between laughs, trying to escape.

“Say you like me,” he grinned, continuing his attack.

“No!” You thrashed, kicking the blankets, but he was relentless, laughing along with you as he dug his fingers into the one spot he knew made you squirm.

“Say it!”

“I—CAN’T—BREATHE—”

He finally slowed, giving you a chance to catch your breath, but his hands still hovered threateningly near your waist. “One more chance,” he warned, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Say. It.”

You huffed, pretending to glare at him, but the second his fingers twitched, you caved.

“Fine! I like you!”

Kai immediately stopped, grinning in victory. “See? That wasn’t so hard.”

You groaned, still breathless. “You’re the worst.”

He just smirked, stretching before flopping back onto the pillow beside you. His arm lazily draped over your waist again, his warmth making it impossible to stay annoyed.

A few moments passed before he mumbled, half-asleep, “I like you too, by the way.”

You didn’t say anything, just smiled to yourself, letting the quiet settle between you.

For now, you’d let him have his little win.

TUT_04: a nothingness strained

Once again, we establish that Otomai has a link with the Eliatropes.

When I had first played through this tutorial I found Grougaloragran's presence a bit puzzling here, but honestly it makes a lot of sense.

Of course he would be concerned with large amounts of sudden wakfu after encountering a certain Xelor.

It is actually interesting how much focus Grouga places on Wakfu energy throughout the Wakfu series. When the Brotherhood first arrived to the Island, the main conflict was him being hostile because of Rubilax's sushu presence. In his battle against Nox, he says he can feel some remaining good in him. He is rather in tune with the presence of Wakfu and Stasis.

It makes sense he'd be disturbed by our player character's raw amount of swag wakfu energy
