GH: GREEN LANTERN #162
Green Lantern had been my second-favorite super hero going back to my youth, when I found him occupying the back pages of THE FLASH. Once he got his own series again, I followed it regularly right from the jump. And I was particularly enamored of Marv Wolfman’s run on the character which had wrapped up not long before this. But still, all of this was not enough to prevent me from adding GREEN…

March 2024 Reading Wrap-up
Very engrossing. Also very vague on who's side is lying the least. ^_^
A fun little addition to the Kane Chronicles. Did want to beg that healer kid to please stop experimenting on themselves. ^_^'
Fun little read, though I think I prefered the drawings to most of the stories.
Finally finished this one. You can tell how unenthusatic Harry is about participating in the tournament. (Also very annoyed with Ron for his BS and even more annoyed with Hermione for pushing mostly Harry into forgiving Ron for being an ass.) Shame on Harry and Ron for their treatment of their dates. I wish Krum would have remained a main character from here on out. I really liked him. Poor Winky.
Three for three so far on me loving Kalynn Bayron's books, this one sucks you in pretty quickly.
Certainly began wondering if any kids were going to die in this book. Also seriously Mr. Mysterious Toyshop owner... full disclosure on the things you see is requested.
re-read, naturally the very beginning of the nod to the gremlins is always hilarious.
Qui-gon is a bit of a dick...not everyone is going to fall to the dark side dude!
Also the Jedi must be doing something wrong where children genuinely feel they are "failures" if they do not become knights. Also the "we are not to know we are to do" massively rankles. I did like the arch Obi-wan went on in the book. Your light saber shouldn't be your only answer to everything.

Who are your favorite voice actors in anything ever of all time?
(Also Springbonnie being hugged is one of the cutest things I've seen)
An obvious answer would be some classic villains, like Pat Carroll playing Ursula, but I think I’ll look at the voices that were “most important to me.”
That would be the TF2 mercs: Dennis Bateman (Pyro/Spy), Gary Schwartz (Demo/Heavy), Grant Goodeve (Engi), John Patrick Lowrie (Sniper), Nathan Vetterlein (Scout), Robin Atkin Downes (Medic). But especially Rick May as Soldier.
Before I talk more about "why TF2," one of the other specifically-important voices I think about a lot is Tim Curry. I always enjoyed Tim Curry’s voice and voice acting in any role, but when I hear him in anything now, his voice has that association with an animated Springtrap that it'll just always have from here on out. And it makes me excited like I want to draw and all that type of stuff :)
So, while I had seen and heard the TF2 mercs in tiny snippets a handful of times without knowing, I had no clue TF2 was a thing. I randomly found the “Meet the Soldier” video one day (which stuck out because it was wedged between a bunch of flashy clickbait that didn’t interest me). I said, “Sure, I’ll watch it. It’s only a minute and a half.” Even after watching, I didn’t realize it was a promo/ad for a video game. I thought it was an animation student project or something.
But I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I loved it. The art style, the gags, and good god the voice acting. So expressive, memorable, and of course entertaining. After watching it over and over for a few days I got suggested the other Meet the Team videos, and my only coherent thought was, “THERE’S MORE?”
TF2, since the day I found it, is a game that has filled a space that literally nothing else ever has or will, and the voices are huge part of that. I have a very “auditory brain,” which I think may be in part because of aphantasia, so sound is extremely important to me. Not only is the sound design in TF2 basically perfect, but every performance and line delivery has consistently made me happy every single time I play and get to hear them. Each voice is just so unique, character driven, and fun to listen to. I'll never not love them.
#justtalks#text#anon ask#answered ask#tf2#i wont go on and on about every mercs voice specifically bc i just dont feel like writing all of that out rn lol#also im glad you liked springbonnies bear hug#<3

Imagine Rick being in the pool practicing his lines and he sees how Cliff gets on the roof and then sees Cliff take his shirt off and is like ...damn. how is he not an actor? He's got the body for it. He could be a heartthrob. While for a moment, he feels self-conscious about his own body but ignores it and goes back to practicing his lines. He's gotta make sure they're perfect!
Meanwhile Cliff sneaks peaks at Rick and is in absolute awe of his acting. And is wondering why no one wants him as an actor on their show. He hates Mr. Schwartz a little for making Rick doubt himself and cry. Lately he's been feeling very protective of Rick and he's not sure why.
But Sharon sees Cliff on the roof too and is like 👀 I'm looking respectfully. But in all seriousness she's like Oh Rick Dalton has a man got it. And doesn't think twice on it. Polanski sees Cliff on the roof too at some point and is like... damn, that guy's cool...and he's a little jealous.
Mr. Schwartz goes back to his wife and tells her all about meeting Rick Dalton and how the man is surprisingly soft spoken and has a stutter. His wife thinks that's absolutely adorable and wants to meet him now. He also tells her of the friend who drives him around, how they've been friends since bounty law, and how he's Rick's stunt double. She pauses for a second and puts two and two together. Oh. Well, that's adorable, too, she thinks. It's a bit romantic, too. But she doesn't say anything. She's still excited to meet Mr Dalton and his "friend"

A list of all of Ben Schwartz’ blue characters cause I’m literally obsessed with this weird type casting that he’s fallen into
Most famously- Sonic the Hedgehog

2nd Most Famous- Dewey motherfucking Duck (he’s truly a legend for this one)

Third Most Famously- The Blue Ninja Turtle (Or Leo I just call them by their color cause I thought it was funny when I was little and I still think that it is)

4th and lowkey unkown- Tay-0 from the Bad Batch (this is not promoting the bad batch, pls don’t be mean to me)

And lastly and definitely very unknown- Rick from exactly 1 episode of Bob’s Burgers (I yelled 5th blue Ben Schwartz when I watched this episode like an hour ago)

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have been enlightened
