So i decided to rewatch static shock and now i have Ideas(tm)
IDEA 1
Amity and dakota are neighboring and/or sister cities, and virgil and danny are the same age or one is only a few years older than the other.
A few things about dakota's location:
It has miles of waterfront on its east side to Lake Dakota, which has ocean access. The lake has a golden gate sized bridge over it, but the other side is never shown. An extremely large artificial lake from a dammed up river that leads to the atlantic makes the most sense to me. A fictional Great Lake is also entirely possible. Either option probably still limits Dakota to east of (or connected to?) the mississippi, especially when combined with the point below.
Its implied to be close enough to gotham for virgil to signal batman in the sky, and to quickly fly over. There's still plenty of room for reinterpretation, though.
Its large enough to have 'miles' of waterfront, and to have stadiums hosting major sports events, so its safely larger than amity park.
I was looking at a map and thought it would be great if dakota was between or encompassed toledo and detroit (i got the impression it was an expy of chicago or detroit anyways), with lake eerie and lake st clair on its east. Lake st clair would be renamed dakota lake and lake erie is the lake eerie that danny and his dad visit. Amity park is in ohio instead of illinois (which is fanon anyways).
(Also, hilariously, dakota has a poorer neighborhood called the fenton projects. Do with that what you will.)
So basically, dakota is the closest "big city" to amity park, so theres a lot of cross travel. Both cities get their vigilantes at the same time and bond over the mutual weirdness, and team phantom and team shock are close allies that constantly fly over to help each other out.
OR, one of the origin stories happened 2-5 years after the other, and whichever one is younger goes to the other for vigilante advise and training.
IDEA 2
The chemical that caused the big bang is some form of ecto, and all the bang babies are liminal. In this idea, i imagined team phantom closer to batman's age instead of static's. The (adult) team is investigating ecto-shipments in dakota when or shortly after the big bang event happens, connect alva to vlad and/or the giw, and discover a conspiracy to deliberately create liminals 'for science' (ie the chemicals were purposefully placed at the docks and a gang war deliberately incited).
Team phantom set up a bang baby outreach program at the community center with virgil's dad and quickly identify virgil as static. They train virgil (and eventually richie) and cover their patrols under the excuse that the two are extremely involved in the outreach program (which they are - static recommends the program to all of his rogues).
Danny's team is able to help the various bang babies develop and control their powers, has the resources to help anyone who doesnt want to be associated with ebon's gang, and has a way to safely subdue and contain the bang babies that refuse any help and continue to be a danger to others. And they can show up in a mask if they want to hide their identity while learning to control their powers (not that it would actually stop the team from being able to identify them). The team is also monitoring the bang baby population to make sure the giw or anyone else arent disappearing them.
The team would also take great offense to how the cure was ethically handled at the end of the series, especially if retconning the bang babies as liminals means that 'curing' them would actually hurt them.
Anyways, more danny phantom x static shock crossovers, please.

Ectoberhaunt day 14 - Haunted House & Costume Party
Summary: Virgil meets the Amity trio.
Danny Phantom x Static Shock crossover
Ao3 Link
“Uh, Richie?”
“Yeah, Vee?”
“When did you say you met these guys exactly?”
“Chicago Comic Con.”
“Right and why is one of them floating?”
“He’s probably a Bang Baby.” Richie drew a card, pushing back an old pair of Static’s glasses in his hair. “Man, how do you keep these in place?”
“My powers, obviously.” Virgil rolled his eyes, his head completely still due to the weight of the Gear helmet. “And probably? Your genius brain doesn’t ever let you say ‘probably’!”
“I mean he’s got a whole bunch of powers, but he definitely wasn’t in Dakota when the Big Bang happened. Either he was just born that way or his powers were kick started some other way.” Richie rearranged his cards. “Or he’s some kind of alien like Superman.”
“Y’know I can hear you, right?” the floating kid said. He pointed to his ear. “Super hearing, remember, Richie?”
“Yeah, I know. My buddy Vee’s just curious is all.”
“Great, well, he can just ask me himself.”
“Danny, dude, chill. Fright Knight’s not gonna come after you when he doesn’t even know we left the state.” Tucker said, poking the floating kid in the ribs with the pointy end of his foam Master Sword while not looking away from his cards. “And quit floating so high, I know you’re trying to cheat and you’re doing it badly.”
The floating kid—Danny—grumbled something under his breath before lowering himself to a few inches off the floor. He flicked Tucker’s plastic pointed ear in retaliation and Tucker slapped his back in response, knocking him to the ground with an “Oof!”
“He’s a ghost,” the goth girl said with a slight lisp from the fake fangs in her mouth. She put a card on the pile. “His powers are all supernatural and shit.”
Virgil and Richie froze, silently staring at Danny with wide eyes.
Danny and Tucker continued to poke and flick and slap at each other.
“Holy shit,” they said in unison.
“What?” Danny turned to them, while continuing to poke Tucker. “You got a problem with ghosts or something?”
“Dude, did you…?” Richie trailed off, his face growing ever paler.
“Oh, uh.” Danny rubbed the back of his neck. “Yeah. I, uh, died.”
There was a moment of silence.
The goth girl poked Danny this time. “Your turn.”
Their game of cards continued, an awkward tension filling the room as Virgil attempted to wrap his head around the fact that this kid—was he even a kid? How did that even work? Does he just stay the same age forever or does he age slower or what?
Virgil was bursting with questions, as he imagined Richie was too, but there was a hysterical sort of laughter building in his throat. Danny wasn’t even that much younger than them, and yet he’d died. It was terrible and an unfortunate indicator of what might happen in the… extremely distant future for Virgil and Richie themselves. Those facts alone were way too real, but—
He’d died and he came back.
And despite how it made his guts churn with his own selfishness—he wondered why Danny could come back, but Virgil’s mom—
He swallowed around the lump quickly growing in his throat and gave his head a good mental shake. He glanced at Richie for a moment and the too knowing eyes behind his friend’s glasses were too much to bear so he forced a laugh.
“Uh.” Virgil cleared his throat. “So does that mean we’re hanging out in a genuine haunted house right now?”
Tucker and the goth girl laughed while Danny started explaining the technicalities about haunting a house.
Virgil felt a hand squeeze his own. When he turned, Richie gave a strained smile, a promise in his eyes to stay with him after they left the trio from Illinois. A promise to hold him together as he grieved again.

For the fictional kiss prompts: 1 & 2 with a little mix of 10!! As for the characters... I guess that depends on how you feel about a Richie/Dakota Block pairing? Ngl I was always kinda into the idea of them hatef*cking each other. 😂 If that’s not a pairing you’re into though, feel free to pick one you like!! :P
I love Richie/Dakota! And for the same reasons/in the same way. XD
This will be the first time I’ve written for them, so I’m keeping it short for now.
There are nails digging into the side of his neck, short and dull and a little ragged along the edges. Doctor’s nails, Richie thinks, meant for healing hands and professional smiles, now digging furrows into his neck as she half-yanks, half-shoves him into a better angle, mouth dragging against his in a hard line.
He can feel her teeth, human and blunt, against the closed press of their lips before she all but hauls him towards her, one hand fisted in the collar of his shirt while the other cuts half-moons into his skin. He wonders if she’s trying to draw blood, slice into him the way he did her over a year ago. Something shivers in anticipation in his chest at the thought and his feet stumble after her as she falls back a step.
Her entire body jerks, jarring them apart as her back knocks against the edge of some randomly placed table he never saw the point of. Richie’s hand comes up to rest against the side of her ribs in an futile effort to steady her before she slaps it away, brows drawn in a glare like he tried to take liberties, and maybe he did. Maybe killing her old man gave her the keys to this song and dance of theirs, leaving him groping in the dark for the rules and edges.
“I-“
“Don’t,” she snaps, but there’s something soft and broken under that simple word that derails him more than her protest, and he looks at her, studies that unforgiving flint in her gaze and the special brand of defiance in the tilt of her jaw, and wonders.
Why are you here? he wants to ask, wants to form the words and make the demand into the empty space between them. He can’t quite bring them to the surface though. She does that to him, mixes up guilt and shame and curiosity within him, like she’s full of all the answers while he hasn’t yet earned the right to the questions. He should hate it, being the type of man that he is. He doesn’t.
He settles for the grasping at the hem of her denim jacket, bunching the material up almost questioningly but she doesn’t push him away, hands dropping to the wrinkled collar of his shirt and yanking him down once more, hard enough he feels the button at his throat give with a muted snap as she claims his mouth once more. She’s not gentle, no softness in her when she parts her lips, dry and rough from the desert air, and scrapes those blunt edges of cutting bone against the soft give of his bottom lip. Her hand comes up to grasp his chin, yanking downward on his jaw and forcing an entrance for the sharp thrust of her tongue, and he gives in with a twisted thrill.
He’s always been better at surrender.

 PERSONALITY
Personality Type: ESTP-A [Assertive Entrepreneur]
Temperament: Choleric-Sanguine
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Passionate | Social | Upfront | Risk-prone | Defiant
Smart-mouthed, openly opinionated, and with an apparent lack of volume, Munch quickly cements himself as the class clown in any group. He enjoys living in the moment, a truly free spirit with an infectious energy. He is the textbook extrovert, finding himself to be bored out of his mind if not sharing with others, leading him to have quite the large group of friends and acquaintances. He’s notorious for poking fun at anything and anyone, but has no problem sincerely apologizing once he realizes he might have taken something too far.
As a hero, Munch takes after his namesake, the Yellow Jacket wasp. Quick, nimble, and particularly aggressive, Jacket revels in the comic book hero lifestyle of kicking butts and taking names. His energy blasts aren’t his only weapons, he has as much fun slinging insults and burns as he does physically taking someone down. He certainly enjoys the attention of being a hero in a celebrity sense, but Jacket sees his role as a chance to inspire others to fight the good fight in any capacity.
Hot-blooded as he is, Munch struggles with controlling his emotions. He can be easily frustrated, especially when things aren’t as straight-foward as he is, and blisteringly fierce when angered. It takes an ungodly amount of coaxing to get him to let go of past grudges due to his tendency of being bullheaded.
 ABILITIES AND WEAKNESSES
Metahuman Biology: Metahumans by standard are more durable than humans. While not by much, Jacket exhibits increased strength, speed, reflexes and resilience.
Plasma Manipulation: Jacket’s metagene allows him to create, shape, and otherwise manipulate plasma matter
Plasma “Stingers”: By shooting short blasts of plasma energy, Yellow Jacket creates his signature “stingers,” the potency of said stingers can vary from shocks to explosions.
Variants include plasma beams and large spheres, but they currently require more concentration and stamina to use
He can also use his stingers to push him off surfaces as a kind of super-jump and can sustain limited flight mobility
Plasma Shields: Jacket can create small shields, enough to deflect low to medium powered attacks. Large shields require significant effort to shape and contain, once he’s made one, he’s stuck sustaining it.
Inventory
Flight Belt: Jacket can fly thanks to the inertia belt made by his mentor Icon, based off Rocket’s Inertia belt. Since it was not made of the same material as the original belt, it allows only for flight and a decent powered body aura.
Goggles: Jacket’s goggles feature different kinds of vision including: Telescopic, Microscopic, Infrared, and X-Ray
 Weaknesses and Limitations
Energy Stamina: Jacket stands the risk of overexerting himself if he pushes his plasma control too far. The reason why he tends to stick with short blasts is because they take much less energy to conjure. Attacks such as beams, energy spheres, and large defensive shields can potentially wear him down to unconsciousness if the strain is too much.
High Metabolism: Similar to that of a speedster; Jacket’s plasma energy tears through his calorie reservoir. He needs a rather high end amount of food to sustain himself properly or else his energy suffers.
 HISTORY
16-year-old Jamal Winston and Gloria Martinez figured trying to force their relationship made having to take care of their newborn far more painful than it had to be and called it quits. They continued co-parenting with both opting to drop-out of high school, Gloria a fulltime mother and Jamal picking up a fulltime job. Eventually the two managed to assuage any resentment towards each other and made steps toward genuine friendship, both turning out to be equally dedicated and loving parents.
Taylor, named Clara at the time, enjoyed school. Not so much the actual studying as the playtime and socializing, but he was a bright student. In middle school he discovered a love for track and kept at it when he entered high school. Taylor was doing well, but struggled with his self-esteem in connection with fitting in with girls. He’d always been masculine and known a tomboy for nearly all of his childhood. His parents never had a problem with that, but he was picked at by other family members. It wasn’t until high school where Taylor discovered himself as trans, which both gave him answers he’d been looking for and terrified him as he had no idea how to go about this with his family.
The topic of LGBTQ+ matters rarely passed through his household with his mother or with his father and step-mother. None of them openly expressed homo or transphobia, but Taylor had met enough extended family anti-LGBTQ+ and that stopped him from broaching the subject. Still he began looking into subtle ways to get a "head-start" on transitioning, including buying a binder and teaching himself natural voice changes.
But Taylor was publicly outed during a family get-together, when a few of his younger cousins rifled through his belongings and brought with them the attention of Taylor’s uncle. When the situation turned into an all out yelling match and nearly physical, Taylor ran off. It would be the last anyone would see him for the months to come.
While wandering around Dakota City, Taylor was abducted by the Reach and experimented on, the stress and torture he endured all the while activated his dormant metagene. He was eventually rescued by a team of young heroes while deep in the Western Pacific Reach mobile base, recognizing a past classmate, Virgil Hawkins. The two stuck close out of familiarity as they were eventually shifted over to S.T.A.R. Labs in Taos.
They spent a month or so under the eye of Dr. David Wilcox, building resentment over being treated as lab rats alongside Tye Longshadow, Eduardo Dorado Jr., Asami Koizumi, and Nathaniel Tyron. It was during this time that Taylor’s commonly used nickname of ‘Munch’ came about because of his extreme appetite due to his metagene and at that point Taylor hadn’t chosen his name yet. The group, sans Nathaniel, then came to agree their stay at S.T.A.R was over and escaped.
Their party was joined in by Jacklyn Ericson, unknown to them a hero known as Ferro and Team member, and were soon approached by Lex Luthor who offered them security in exchange for favors against the Reach. Little under two weeks later, the gang were fighting their way through the heart of the Warworld to rescue the captured heroes caught in stasis. Munch was on board with Nightwing’s invitation onto the Team, he’d always looked up to the Justice League and heroics called to him, but left with the others at seeing Arsenal’s dismissal despite him leading the rescue.
Munch wouldn’t involve himself with heroes until their group until the League reached out to Jacklyn; they needed as many hands on deck. The Reach had activated field disruptors around the world which would eventually tear Earth to shreds if not shut down; Munch was paired off with Rocket to shut down the disruptor in Chile. Munch couldn’t hide his joy at being paired with Rocket, he’d been a fan of hers ever since she started off in Dakota City as Icon’s protégé. The two got on well and Rocket extended another invitation onto the Team stating their hometown could do with another hero, this time Munch accepted.
He would take on the mantle Yellow Jacket and when Rocket’s former mentor Icon returned to Earth, was taken under his wing as a mentee. He and Virgil, who had also accepted the invitation onto the Team as Static, became the new generation of heroes in Dakota City.
Just in time too, as from the shadows rise a threat spreading across the city’s metayouth, the Metabreed.
  NOTES
Munch does eventually make it back to his parents, who have been been running themselves ragged organizing search parties for him.
Because of his color scheme and insect motif, Jacket tends to be confused as Bumblebee’s protégé instead of Icon’s. Not that it’s cause for insult, but Karen and Munch note they wouldn’t make good partners.
Munch comes to find out of another super in the family, although not of the heroic kind. His step-cousin is member of the H.I.V.E 5, See-More.
He enjoys various shonen anime, occasionally reading the manga if he likes the anime enough, his favorite being the Dragon Ball franchise. He makes a nod towards this during the escape at S.T.A.R when Virgil asked him if he could blast open the door. When Munch’s first few blasts don’t cut it, he tries a larger beam in the only way he knows how, via Kamehameha.
Yellow Jacket has become very active on social media and has a notable following, much to Icon’s annoyance.
Munch has recently taken up being a peer counselor at S.T.A.R Taos alongside Ed Jr.

Static Is Back | COMIC BOOK REVIEW
It’s time to put a shock back to your system. That's right, after its short-lived run as a part of DC's New 52, the electrifying teen superhero is gracing the pages of DC comics once again.
The series is titled, Static: Season One, written by Vita Ayala and art by Chriscross and Nikolas Draper-Ivey. The first issue of this six-part series was released on June 15th, 2021.
Static isn’t the only hero from Milestone Comics making their return. Both Icon & Rocket and Hardware are receiving six-part series as well, officially re-establishing the “Dakotaverse”.
For those of you who don’t know what the “Dakotaverse” is, let me give you a quick rundown. The “Dakotaverse" refers to all characters licensed by DC Comics from Milestone Comics. All characters involved are based in/operate out of the fictional city of Dakota, whose population is majority Black with a heavy gang presence. Milestone Comics’ creator, the truly incomparable Dwayne McDuffie (may he rest in peace) and Denys Cowan, wanted to write stories featuring Black heroes so readers could see that heroes come in all colors. They also wrote stories from their own experiences which is why Dakota is a stand-in for any inner city in America.
The following will be a review for both Milestone Returns and Static: Season One #1. Spoiler Warning.
Tumblr media
Milestone Returns is essentially issue 0 for the three new series being revived, Static, Icon & Rocket, and Hardware. For both Static and Hardware, it revamps their origin stories. Originally, Virgil Hawkins, Static, gains his powers because he was dragged into a gang war and was exposed to an explosion of strange gas. This event is known as the “Big Bang”. In Milestone Returns, the “Big Bang” happens at a Black Lives Matter protest in Dakota when the police decide to use an experimental “tear gas” on the protesters.
Of course, updating Static’s origins allows readers to connect with the story on a personal level, given the events of 2020. This also aligns with McDuffie’s goal of using common experiences to tell amazing stories.
Hardware is introduced as the scientist, Dr. Curtis Metcalf, who developed the gas for Alva Industries (evil corporation). He is immediately blamed for the “Big Bang”. Seeing the writing on the wall, Dr. Metcalf runs to his secret lab to transform his body and equip armor with a lot of firepower.
Icon and Rocket's origins aren't fully explored here, but it does establish that Icon is an alien who has been on Earth for a looooong time. He is a Superman-like hero with several abilities even known to him. Rocket, on the other hand, is a girl from Dakota that met Icon and convinced him to clean up the drug problem in Dakota.
Milestone Returns defines the social issues created by the “Big Bang”, basically the same problems seen in the X-Men comics. We are shown Virgil’s first conflict with school bully turned pyromaniac villain, Hotstreak, and the rise of the big bad, Holocaust. There are a few smaller stories included in this comic but I'll let you read those for yourself.
Milestone Returns is a showcase of what we can expect in the future from the new writers and artists for these series. I highly recommend reading this comic if for nothing else seeing Virgil let out some major voltage. I rate it a 7/10.
Tumblr media
Static: Season One #1 continues to dive into Virgil’s thoughts about all the changes he is going through. After his fight with Hotstreak, he’s worried he can’t control this new power. To his relief, no one except Hotstreak and Virgil’s friends, Frieda and Richie, knows he has powers.
Virgil is constantly feeling the buzz of electricity under his skin. While it isn’t hurting him, the pressure of controlling it is causing anxiety and irritability with those he's close to. Add in the trauma of being hospitalized by the "Big Bang" and knowing that the person that hates him the most could barbeque him, it's a lot for a 16-year-old to handle. It's a lot for anyone to handle.
The artwork and paneling in this comic are stunning. I am loving Virgil's new design. The characterization of Virgil, his family, and Hotstreak is perfect. Artist Nikolas Draper-Ivey has stated multiple times on Twitter that he wanted to give this series a cinematic quality. He has not disappointed the reader, so far. There are two scenes between Virgil and his family, one before the "Big Bang" and one in the present. The page layouts are identical but the conversations are very different in tone, and I am just amazed by these scenes.
I was already a Static fan before reading this comic, and now I’ve fallen in love with the character all over again. I rate this issue 9.5/10.
The next issue of Static doesn’t have a release date yet, but in the meantime, Icon & Rocket will be released in July and Hardware in August.
TL/DR: Static is back and it’s really good.
Milestone Returns, available now. Rating: 7/10
Static: Season One #1, available now. Rating: 9.5/10

Page 4: Colton Underwood comes out -- saying he's the happiest and healthiest he's ever been, the former Bachelor clarifies his orientation
Page 5: Lena Dunham is no stranger to controversy, so it comes as no surprise that her foray into fashion design has also come under fire as she partnered with a plus-size label to create the capsule collection 11 Honore x Lena Dunham, but the kicky line quickly came under fire as critics are calling it tone-deaf, mediocre and not inclusive at all since its largest size is a 26 and some are even going so far to call Lena a grifter who gained weight in order to make money off the plus-size community but Lena, who underwent a hysterectomy at 31, has pointed to early menopause as the cause of her straight-up gut -- while Lena refuses to be intimidated by bullies, she is listening to the complaints about sizes and is planning to address it
* Once a cautionary tale of the perils of child stardom, at age 40 Macaulay Culkin is a father himself as he and girlfriend Brenda Song welcomed a son, Dakota -- he's finally overcome his demons and Brenda has been a huge influence on his life and helped him get back on the straight and narrow and he's even pursuing acting again, shooting season 10 of American Horror Story; his life has taken such a positive turn
* A year after announcing her split from Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari is seeing the upside of divorce, saying it's made her a better mom in some ways because she has her kids half the time now so when she has them for her week, she is so incredibly present with her kids Camden, Jaxon and Saylor and she is not distracted by her phone or anything else; she is with them -- Jay and Kristin each have the kids 182.5 days a year and court papers also revealed that her ex is allowed two phone calls and two FaceTime or Skype calls a week and vice versa so now every moment is precious and if someone is having a temper tantrum or something, she remains calm because she knows that she is losing them in a few days
Page 6: Gwen Stefani is widely thought to have had some help in the nips and tucks department, and as her wedding to Blake Shelton approaches, he is starting to object to her constant tweaking of her face -- she's always messing with it by getting more fillers and Botox and Blake is afraid of what he'll see at the altar and he's freaking out at Gwen's increasingly extreme beauty routine which is becoming increasingly over-the-top; Gwen can barely move her face to smile at him anymore and it looks weird -- while he frets, he's trying to reassure his wife-to-be because Blake thinks she's beautiful just the way she is
* As an executive producer on the long-running Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay has tasked the writers to come up with more storylines featuring one of her favorite characters: defense attorney Trevor Langan, played by none other than her husband Peter Hermann -- Mariska and Peter originally met and fell in love when Peter guest-starred on the show and she loves to keep that magic alive by bringing him back to play Trevor but the trouble is he is busy with his own gigs as a series regular on Younger and his recurring role on Blue Bloods and Peter loves working with his wife, but he has his own acting career apart from Mariska -- still, he may soon have his day in court because Peter understands how Mariska feels and is trying to work his schedule to allow him some guest spots in the near future

STatic Shock notes 37
Episode 11 (37)
Given the forest and mountains I’m guessing that this is a field trip to the east of Dakota.
The fuck is the teacher standing in a moving vehicle for? That aint safe.
How fucking loaded is Dakota High? This is a fucking intercity public school with a large Black population in a city with a history of civil unrest, a decent amount of gang activity in and around the school. How the fuck can it afford field trips to the mountains?
Also never before seen teacher lady.
Daisy is that kid who answers questions in class and sits in the front row. In Biology.
This bio teacher fake as fuck. Raccoons are in no way a member of Rodentia. Racoons are procyonidae.
Frieda is here. I don’t like her redesign at all.
Richie calls Daisy a teacher’s pet. Rude.
Virgil spots a giant monkey and is concerned.
Are Virgil and daisy still dating at this point? I haven’t seen evidence that she dumped him yet, but then I gain I’ve barely seen her this season.
Holy fuck no one else on the bus noticed the fucking murder monkey?!
Virgil and Richie change clothes on the bus
Teacher drags Daisy along and does not do a head count to make sure she’s got all of her kids
And by drag I mean that litterally. Damn bitch\
The monkey is after the teacher
Zap caps continue to be useless
Why doesn’t Gear hack the robot monkey?
Gear gets knocked into some bushes
Static gets captured and nearly crushed
Superman from nowhere
Superman has people eyes
Its fuckin weaird
Gear got hurt. A badly sprained ankle on the same leg he got shot in.
Are those the same crutches from the time he got shot too? I mean noone made me give back my crutches when I broke my ankle.
Also these nerds are so happy they met Superman.
Does Superman know they beat Brainiac? Probably.
Superman is fucking huge. Clark Kent shows up in Dakota at the same time as Superman
Mr. H reads articles written by Clark Kent
Virgil tries to get Static the credit for beating the robo monkey in the news.
These boys are really bad liars
The girls just dead doll staring at Clark
Ms. Moore snubbs them and Clack looks through the wall
Ms. Moore/Darcy is a robot
She’s running from a stalker
And she’s done running
Everyone notices the giant bouncing clown
That is some property damage on that school building. Dakota High has multiple buildings.
Static is so happy to be working with Superman
Russian nesting clowns
Daisy fights clowns with chair only to get vored
Communication Superman, ya gotta explain shit
Oh look another abandoned factory. Finnigan’s Mannequins
So not only has the robot lady allied herself with her former stalker she’s trying to reenact the plot of Get Out on Daisy?
This white lady who is a teacher, decided to stalk a Black girl student she’s obsessed with. And plans to murder her and steal her identity. That’s not deeply disturbing.
Superhero’s break and enter and search without warrants
Gear gets to do computer work offscreen
Darcy fucking became a teacher to find a child to steal the identity of and murder
What a cunt
So if this is a nanite body that copies even DNA and is virtually identicle, then isnt it technoorganic?
Daisy isn’t great at spelling. Same
Static doesn’t like not getting recognised
Also, if Toyman is ok with this then he’s also a pedophile
Bullshit Static’s power doesn’t work on those plastic soldiers. Fucker can magnetize meat.
Daisy frees herself
Wait, why murder Daisy if yer not even gonna live her life?
Daisy wanders deeper into the factory instead of climbing over the rubble where the superheros came in and leaving that way
Creepy ass white bitch
Static double bullshits his powers to work on the plastic soldiers
Statiic u were looking right at them, u shoulda seen that bitch toss herself from the balcony
Superman x-ray visions the kids
Hey, one difference b/w them is that Darcy’s clothes have the same DNA as her skin and hair. And she’s fulla nanites. Just look at shit under a microscope
Toyman just doesnt fucking run off durring all of this. Dude doesnt give a shit about being thrown in prision. And frankly why should he?
See, Daisy is fucking pissed with all this shit and wants to fucking rumble
“Every human has an electrical aura that surrounds them” Oh hi bullshit. U mean that every living thing has an electrical current b/c of biochemical processes. Also electronics have an electrical current running through them to. So this telling the Daisy’s apart bit is complete and utter bullshit.
Double bullshit since Superman isn’t human and has an aura
Daisy’s aura is pink and Static’s is purple/white
So any explanation on how or why STatic knows he can make auras visible? No? Ok then.
Oh look the cherry on top of this shit show of an episode! And by cherry I mean diarrhea chunk
Our heros watch a woman be gruesomely murdered by her stalker and do nothing. Our heros watch a woman die of poisoning and watch the murderer throw away the antidote without lifting a finger or voicing a single complaint. Our heroes watch a woman die a slow painful death and don’t give a single shit.
WHAT THE ABSOLUTE CLUSTERFUCK WRITERS.
YOU MORAL FUCKING CHICKEN SHITS.
This is ooc for Static. Daisy gets a pass b/c the cunt stalked and tried to murder her. Toyman gets a pass b/c he’s a supervillain.
This shit is why I hate DC and don’t care for Superman.
Static offers to be Superman’s sidekick.
The show thinks that Daisy doesn’t know that Static is Virgil b/c the show assumes that everyone, including the viewer is an idiot.

Ok I saw this floating around and NEEDED to ask you.
Fic Authors Self Rec!
When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written. Toot your horn! Tell us what YOU like about them, then pass this on to at least five other writers. (no pressure.) 😊
omg you sent me this and i was like "I'm gonna answer that asap!" and then i didn't 😂
but, whenever i do these i try my best to pick fics from across different fandoms. so here we go, in no specific order!
- Small Price to Pay (Takeshi Kovacs x F!Reader)- I've really enjoyed everything that I've written for Altered Carbon, I just love the characters and the world. But this fic in particular I really liked getting into the descriptions of what Reader was feeling and going through, how it all manifested in their relationship with Tak. They're both such a mess and I love them
- Pretty Boy (Juice Oritz x OC Dakota Lowman)- You know meeeee i love any excuse to write Juice and i love all my OCs like they're my children and best friends. But this one really has a special place in my heart since it was the debut for these two. Plus i just really love the vibe of their dynamic in this, and the fact that we get to see Di in this too.
- Last Resort (John Wick x GN!Reader)- This was my first John Wick fic and it was so much fun to write!! Idk I just loved the testy dynamic between the two of them. I loved the begrudging respect between them and the history that's there that neither of them really take the time to get into much at all. I love how he knows that they'll have his back even if they don't make it easy on him. It also taught me how much fun it is to write fics that take place in their whole world.
- No Good Time For This (Sydney Adamu x Richie Jerimovich)- You already knooooow that SydRichie was gonna make it on here!! I just love them. I love their potential and the back and forth between them. I love that their similarities just as much as their differences are what make things so chaotic between them sometimes. And while I usually love some good antagonism between them, I did really enjoy the two of them being able to lean on each other in this fic. I like that it was the two of them vs. Carmy rather than them versing each other. Thinking about them always, as you know 😂
- Round-Trip Ticket (Steve Murphy x OC Cassandra Oliviera)- I still remember when I sat down to write this fic. I remember how easily I got swept up in everything about these two. I wrote this fic for a smut challenge but it ended up being almost 8k of story that yeah, had some smut in it, but really everything about their dynamic and journey together was what really had me going hard in the docs. Their story spans over such a long stint of time and they both go through so much, together and apart, and I just absolutely love them. I still be thinking about them sometimes 🥰
thank you for this!!!! i always love going back and perusing through all of my fics 💖

director's commentary for That Pound of Flesh You Owe because i'm obsessed :P -- but also these lines if we're being specific: "She does that to him, mixes up guilt and shame and curiosity within him, like she’s full of all the answers while he hasn’t yet earned the right to the questions." & "He’s always been better at surrender." my fave lines!! XD
Thanks! XD And thanks for sending me the prompt on them! I loved getting a chance to write this!
I kind of sliced out pieces of the ficlet to comment on, if you don’t mind. :)
One thing I knew is that I didn’t want her to be was gentle. There is way too much baggage between them, and your prompt included “hatefucking” and that is such a thing I feel like could work with them that I just went “yes” and used that as my jumping off point.
He can feel her teeth, human and blunt, against the closed press of their lips
I feel like culebras would have a thing when it comes to teeth (their own are tied to everything from fighting to reproduction), a sort of noting of them that happens more often than a human does. But that line also plays into the fact that this is about the other side of passion, desire rooted in a harder, angrier source. I almost had her bite him as another way of trying to hurt him, but I think the fact that he is culebra, and their much more complicated interpretation of biting, would’ve made her decide against it. Maybe if I ever write that longer enemies-with-complicated-feelings-who-fuck fic about them that’s been floating in my head I’ll explore the concept of biting between them.
...she all but hauls him closer, one hand fisted in the collar of his shirt while the other cuts half-moons into his skin. He wonders if she’s trying to draw blood, slice into him the way he did her over a year ago. Something shivers in anticipation in his chest at the thought and his feet stumble after her as she falls back a step.
Dakota is very much driving things, very much in control of what is happening between them. And yeah, she is trying to hurt him, at least a little. This is about her in her mind, her and her messed up feelings about him and what he has done to her and her family. (And that includes Freddie.) And I only touched on it, but Richie kind of wants her to hurt him here. There’s a certain thrill to it, in part because he hurt her before and in part because she’s human.
... he looks at her, studies that unforgiving flint in her gaze and the special brand of defiance in the tilt of her jaw, and wonders.
Why are you here? he wants to ask, wants to form the words and make the demand into the empty space between them.
Random factoid: This was actually where I first started the fic, with him wondering why she was there and what she wanted, because I can never write things in order.
There’s an odd almost power play underlining this (”almost,” because Richie isn’t trying for more here) and the fact that he doesn’t ask, doesn’t speak because she said not to, and that she doesn’t want him to speak, plays into that. Or maybe its better to say there’s a clear dominant party here, and that they both know who that is.
She does that to him, mixes up guilt and shame and curiosity within him, like she’s full of all the answers while he hasn’t yet earned the right to the questions. He should hate it, being the type of man that he is. Should, but doesn't.
Excuse the rambley mess: So much of those lines comes from how I see Richie and the mindset I think Dakota would be in to start something like this with him.
Part of this is rooted in the fact that Richie is often shown on screen wanting/needing things contradictory to what he thinks and says he wants/needs, which is a whole meta in and of itself so I won’t dive too deeply into here. He has an interesting relationship with guilt to begin with before adding his suddenly being faced with the consequences and results of his actions. Some of what he did without reaction/remorse before the Twister he becomes all torn up about later, and while I don’t think he’d ever reach Monica level of guilt over Earl (the whole cop vs criminal aspect, plus it being an act of survival in his mind), I do think he felt no small amount of regret towards Dakota. Although that’s different from Monica too, because he feels guilt not over killing Earl but rather over how Dakota was hurt by his taking her dad from her. And he focuses on her in season three (at least when she’s around), at least in part because he thinks he owes her. And he does, but I don’t he realizes he can’t actually pay her back, that he won’t ever really make up for what he did. But he was drawn to her from the beginning and that didn’t really change once she revealed herself to be Earl’s daughter.
And then there’s Dakota and her own complicated feelings towards him (as well as a healthy dose of confusion), and her blatant refusal to make things easy for him. She’s not going to explain the nature of human behavior to him, isn’t going to stop and worry about what he’s thinking about why she’s doing what she’s doing (and he picks up on that). She has her own intelligence, and its very different from Richie’s (not sure if the show ever confirmed her truly being a psychologist or if that was just a ruse, but it’s possible she does have a degree in human behavior) and her motivation is murky to him at best.
Anyways, all that came together in my head so I could basically say Richie is mess of emotions when it comes to Dakota and that only makes him drawn to her more.
He settles for the grasping at the hem of her denim jacket, bunching the material up almost questioningly but she doesn’t push him away...
...Her hand comes up to grasp his chin, yanking downward on his jaw and forcing an entrance for the sharp thrust of her tongue, and he gives in with a twisted thrill.
More of their clear cut roles here, definitely some hits of sub/domme undertones and where they would fall in those categories. And Dakota isn’t asking, she is going to take what she wants here and if Richie doesn’t like it he can walk away.
...hands dropping to the wrinkled collar of his shirt and yanking him down again, hard enough he feels the button at his throat give with a muted snap...
I don’t know why, but I was very determined that Dakota was going to snap a button on Richie’s shirt. Specifically that top one he always keeps closed. She was going to do it, and I just had to figure out when.
He’s always been better at surrender.
I will argue until the cow’s come home that Richie is a naturally born follower. Which plays into his submissive tendencies in this ficlet. Richie is constantly putting himself under other people’s control/power. Even when given power, something he claims he wants, he immediately turns around and gives it up to someone else. Despite what he thinks, he does not actually want to be in charge, and he shows that in his constant surrendering to others’ authority over him.
And I’m really glad you liked the final line, because I almost deleted it when I first typed it out because I feared it might sound too cheesy.
