Xtro (1982) is one of those movies. Either you love it… or you say, “WTF?” Or maybe both! Luckily, the 80s Grue-Crew are joined by guest host Dirk Rogers, an Xtro fan, to help sort out the mess and to point out why he likes it so much. It took a while for the crew to get the finer points, so you’ll have to check out the episode to see if any of Dirk’s teachings sink in. 

The film depicts an alien impregnating human women with a “plunger” appendage and giving an eleven-year-old boy the power to bring anything he can imagine into reality. How could one expect anything but a five-ring circus?

At the time of this writing, Xtro is available on physical media as an all-region import Blu-ray formatted disc from Second Sight Films. 

Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Bill, will be Death Ship (1980)! Update

Well, well, well. It has been a while since I have posted here. Apologies for the hiatus. I will say that I finished that book, A Tale of 7 Elements, and I have purchased many books since then. I am mostly keeping track of my book reading on Goodreads but not always giving reviews or summaries of what I have read. In the past few days, I was inspired to start writing about the books I’m currently reading, so that is why I’m back. Honestly, I doubt that I will get a chance to finish all the books I’ve managed to collect since I mostly read when I feel inspired to.

I hope not to call this an obsession, but I am strongly interested in paranormal and magic topics due to personal experiences but also perhaps an innate or intuitive calling to learn. The thing is that if I’m reading and I’m not learning something profound or “aligned with intuition” then it is hard to continue reading because it is not as important to me at this time. But I accept that if I don’t finish, or if I take a break, it’s okay. I don’t have to tell myself that I lack discipline, it is just that other information is more important at this time. Anyway, wish me luck in finishing these books!

L’abbé Courtépée indique : "Chapelle rurale de Saint-Loup, du patronage de la prieure de Marcigny, au bas de laquelle coule la Loire. Cette chapelle sur le coteau était celle d’un ancien château voisin détruit "

Le site, bien visible sur le plan-terrier de Chambilly du XVIIIe siècle, indique l’emplacement de la chapelle et les fossés du château.

Le gros bâtiment au milieu de la parcelle est sans doute le château. La chapelle, le château ainsi que les fossés ont disparu depuis longtemps.

A l’emplacement du site se trouve maintenant une ferme. A proximité, le long de la Loire, se trouvait une fontaine dite "de Saint-Loup", réputée miraculeuse, encore en usage actuellement. Le château était situé au bord de la Loire, sur un coteau dominant toute la vallée. Des fondations importantes ont été trouvées lors de travaux effectués derrière la ferme actuelle par l’agriculteur.

Le juge, constatant d’après l’enqueste par lui faite par laquelle lui est deuement apparu et qu’il lui a été suffisament prouvé que les prieurs et prieurés de Marcigny ont et avaient eu d’ancienneté toute juridiction haute et basse au chasteau de Narbost et ses dépendances, le Roy n’y ayant que la garde et le ressort immédiat et que lesdits Marcigny étaient en possession de la dite juridiction et que pour l’exercice d’icelle ils avoient non pas de nouveau, mais d’ancienneté des fourches patibulaires au lieu où elles avoient été démolies par ledit chastelain de Charlieu, et même qu’un criminel y avait été pendu pour les crimes par lui commis au dedans les limites et dépendances dudit chasteau ... L’empeschement mis à la juridiction desdits de Marcigny par le dit Chastelain de Charlieu en démolissant les dits fourches et pilory est déclaré nul et révoqué .... »
