Nosferatu (2024) was fun (a disorganized review) (spoilers. spoiler? yeah spoilers) (even if they might not make sense out of context)
"Shut up and sell me a house, house bitch. I don't have time for this shit. I gotta be in Germany fucking your wife"- Count Orlok (Nosferatu 2024)
This was a fun and stylish and charmingly classic Vampire film. I saw it the day after it premiered and I can't seem to stop thinking about it so have fun with whatever this post is. Beast from the X-Men movies was in this (not Frasier the other one, although that would have been hilarious) and we kept calling him that during and after the movie.
This movie was really funny, and I don't mean that as a negative, or to in any way imply that it isn't a good horror film because it is. Very spooky, great cinematography, all that shit. Its just that it was also really funny in the way that some horror is funny. Does that make sense? Its hard to explain but the look on Beasts face as it slowly dawned on him that his wife was right and he was in for a really shitty time only to settle on this expression of confused sweaty horror that didn't leave for the rest of the movie; Just how fucking rude Dracula was in this for no reason; Willem Defoe being himself; THE RATS. It was all just really funny to me ok.
There is a scene in this movie involving a pigeon that was genuinely so disgusting but also I've been laughing about it ever sense. There are two sex scenes in this movie, and also this is the least sexy Vampire movie I've ever scene. there's something nice about the idea that in an age of sexy vampires, sympathetic vampires, and silly vampires, Count Orlok rose to take his place as a scary, off-putting, gross jerk.

I've finally beaten Brothership, and thought I'd share some of my thoughts. End-game spoilers to follow.
First of all, if I had a nickel for every piece of media where a TV-headed guy trapped Mario in a world of his own creation to further his own selfish goals, I'd have two nickels, et cetera.
But if I had a nickel for every time the final boss of a Mario and Luigi game didn't involve Bowser in some way, I'd only have one nickel.
Reclusa was a real fun boss fight. Just the spectacle of it all, for starters. So much going on the whole way through. I like how he started talking during his attacks near the end.
He was a fun villain, too. Zokket was so dire, I was expecting whatever hatched from the egg to be, like. Some force of nature, or something. I don't know if I even expected it to talk. And then out comes this fuckin clown.
As for what else in general. The combat in this game was fun. Felt about as M&L ever does. The enemy variety and all the different attacks was super fun. The new Bros. Attacks were neat, and I liked the updates to the returning ones. The final ones keeping with the theme of escalating to be ever more over-the-top.
I love all the cute and colorful characters in this game. Them and all the different islands felt so full of personality. Specific shoutouts to the Shipshape crew, the Heatfreeze couple, and the Extension Corps. All very fun characters that I could spend far longer typing about.
And, uh, speaking of spending far longer, wow, I thought the game was just about to end like three times and it just kept going. It's like. So we're fighting Zokket and then the spicy egg, right? Nope, Bowser. We got through the barrier and are fighting Zokket, we're just about done, right? Nope, Reclusa made a tree. We're about to fight Reclusa, right? NOPE, lotus eater flower world. Note that I'm not complaining about the game's length; I just think it's funny.
Feels like this is as good a point to end as any. This game was great; solid 8, maybe even 9. Take easy.

Lisa Frankenstein (2024)
★★★★★ / ♡︎
OMIGOSH. . . .
would totally watch again,
and would recommend it to my friends. . if i ever get some lol
i had been wanting to watch this movie since i saw a trailer of it before some youtube video started, and let me say i am regret not watching it in the cinema soooo bad. . .
HONESTLY super refreshing,,, feel like i haven't watched something like this in sooo long. . . i just haven't been able to NOT think about it!!! just everything about it. . . feels like it was made for me. . . i can't just pic a favorite scene because i loved everything about this, every second of it. .
Lisa is such a sweet, imaginative and interesting girl, imagine being the main slasher's accomplice but thinking you're the protagonist of a --really peculiar-- romcom! she is so silly and likeable, and she had every right to kill everyone in there! i ♡︎♡︎♡︎ her and i think she was genuenly misunderstood by EVERYONE (specially her father, who i HATED)
i was really surprised when watching taffy and lisa's relationship portrayal, at the start i thought it was going to be a one sided thing or really shallow, but it ended up being so wholesome and important, i loved them both and the fact that they actually kinda saw eachother as real sisters, someone to count on. . . oh, women and the deepness of their relationships. . . . .
on cole sprouse's character. . . . why look the best when he is dressed as a rotting victorian man. . . . . . ??? honestly lisa and the creature's build up to relationship felt so well timed and measured . . if my lover isn't an artistic and romantic, recently brought back-to-life transgender man who kills all those who do me wrong, fulfills all my desires, helps me kill myself AND THEN resurrects me so we can live together forever, i DON'T want him!!!
oh to think he actually heard and saw lisa everytime she visited his gravestone, falling in love with her but never knowing if he'll get to actually meet her. . . . . heartbroken. the animated intro about the creature's (past?) life was very needed to have a better understanding of his character and honestly i really loved that zelda and diablo made the decition to include it. cole's performance with body expression was just over the top,,,
thinking about the recent works that the film industry has birthed, this one for sure feels verypure, special and personal. everything about it just felt revitalizing (lol) the plot, the well paced storyline, the glowy and colorful scenarios, the way the characters were portrayed, THE SCRIPT. . . . may i say it is my favorite film i've watched IN A WHILE, best release of the year so far!! i totally didn't look up cementaries in my area !!!!!

Live Action Yu Yu Hakusho Episodes 1 - 3 Spoiler Review???
*All images are from the official Netflix Japan Twitter Account*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanted to watch all 5 episodes but it’s almost midnight, so I’ll watch the last 2 tomorrow
Compared to both the manga and the anime, the live action moves very quickly but it isn’t rushed. Seriously can’t believe there are only 5 episodes… I need at least 10.
I really enjoyed how we got to see what Yusuke and Kuwabara are up to while Sakyō plans to open up the portal and Tarukane winning money at casinos. I think the idea of seeing both sides (earth and the demon world) work at the same time is genius. I also love how Yusuke has become an older brother figure to the boy he saved from the car crash 🥰
ACTION SCENES = PERFECTION 🤌
The only thing I didn’t like so far is the mirror that Kurama uses to bring back his mother. It’s called a mirror but looks likes an iPad. The staff couldn’t find one at IKEA or a home store???
Genkai and Toguro 😭😭😭 while there wasn’t a battle, the two had a conversation about their past before her death. I was also surprised that it happened in ep 3.
Goki is terrifying I mean look at him. I don’t really need to say anything except that
Tumblr media
Overall, I’m really enjoying this series and it may be my favourite live action anime adaptation.
Super excited to watch the last 2 episodes!!!

Hell’s Trap (1989, Trampa infernal)
I found this mexican horror gem very ocasionally on Bleeding Skull's instagram and felt like checking it out instantly, similar to what happened with Vacaciones de Terror. The latter because of the green slimy goo (that as well as a plot, ended up not being quite as present as I expected) and the first thanks to its marvelous title that is already good enough on its own, but is even better if you're portuguese like me 'cause it gets lost in translation into "Infernal Shit". Also, it's always a nice trip to explore mexican horror. This and Vacaciones de Terror 2 are actually directed by the same man, Pedro Galindo III, and it looks a little better than the first so I'll more than certainly get to that one soon.
If it would have been more ambitious it could work more or less as a really low budget Wrong Turn as its the same concept, only 10 years earlier and without the Hills Have Eyes twist, although taking the booby trap horror subgenre to a more satisfactory level than Evil Dead Trap (but i'm yet to find out one that will top Massacre on Central High, less obvious in the booby trap subgenre but has a well earned spot in the podium). Even though Hell's Trap is pretty goofy and not that interesting I thought the pace was cool and straight to business. It's got to have one of the scariest killers I've ever seen in an 80's slasher, at least in such a cheap one, thanks to both its uncanny looks and the real anger that his character drips, mostly visible in his badass introduction that presents him slow-motion diving out of his bush-branch covered cave hole, carrying with him a weight moved by war trauma with every step. You immediately know this dude doesn't mean well and even if he doesn't ever utter a single word he speaks volumes on madness, creeping in the woods in the poorly lit corner of the frame. Certainly in a lane of its own as far as this movie goes, it could have you wondering if Jessie could actually be some kind of Mike Danton incarnation from Deadly Prey. Had this been a real studio production and I could already picture him side to side with the big old bad boys in a corny stamped t-shirt with text reading "usual suspects". And since I mention them, Jessie could or not be a little big rip off ( Freddy + Jason = Jessie (?) ), although his Freddy Krueger bladed-glove doesn't bother me at all to be honest.
I've been progressively getting sicker of slashers located in the woods, mostly because of their usual consistently uninteresting plot and characters (I guess it's just an easy setting to make movies with little to no budget) and even though it doesn't flee from the norm it presents a not that much varied but really pleasing pallete of the sun yellow covered mexican woods that bring a good old cosy charm to my movie watching in the dark alone at 2a.m., again pretty reminiscent of my dearly beloved Massacre on Central High. It brings some inventive kills to the table although i needed more and better, and even though you have some funny characters there isn't much to keep you really into it, the plot is dull and women have little to no role, as most of the movies in this pretty phallocentric world. But it sure delivers. Taking into account that you're in my blog or follow it, I think it won't be a total time waste to watch this.
Please, recommend more vintage booby trap horror, or just something you feel is worth a watch based on this text. I'm in the mood fo' that.

So, that was the Clementine comic…that was boring.
Clementine’s character here is honestly completely different than it is in the games. If I didn’t know it was her i probably would haven’t known, not helped by her design in the comics not really matching her design in the games or even other official artwork of her. This just isn’t the Clementine i knew from four games
Besides everything regarding Clementine, I don’t feel anything towards this book: the new characters are forgettable and most of them get few lines, the conflicts aren’t interesting and the artwork isn’t my cup of tea.
The Clementine comics are just, sorta things that exist. I don’t feel angry at them, I don’t feel anything towards them and that’s arguably even worse than being angry. If these comics weren’t following an beloved protagonist that’s in name only these wouldn’t get any major attention
I will say this though: can we not continue the accusations of Tillie Walden of being a creep that has a self insert paired with Clementine in Ricca that ive seen other sides of the fandom claim. These are very serious claims that from Ive seen are very baseless and with how the recent rise of fear mongering of homophobes calling the LGBTQA community creeps, i don’t want to call a queer writer a creep over a comic book with self insert claims that I don’t see any real evidence in. We can criticize the Clementine comics without attacking the person behind it.

SALTBURN DESTROYED ME BECAUSE IT LEFT MY HEAD FULL OF THOUGHTS.
the problem with me is, once I’ve watched a movie or series etc, I can’t just simply shut up it.
so here is a small ranting;
saltburn, cinematically speaking, was like a mixture of baz luhrmann dropped somewhere in the early 2006 and mid 90s.
specifically, the whole theme/vibe (forgive me I don’t know how to describe the atmosphere) reminded me a lot of the ‘party’ scene in Romeo and Juliet 1996 and (I hope some of yall watched it) the ad baz luhrmann did for H&M in 2017 ‘the secret life of flowers’
but it was a chaotic mess. you didn’t know what to expect, you were not very sure what was about to come because the atmosphere felt to be filled and heavy with thoughts and moments.
like you could sense that Oliver was up to something but it wasn’t clear enough what.
every guess i had while watching this movie, came out to be mostly wrong or didn’t went as expected.
the ‘thriller’ element was missing in my opinion because of the ‘lack of act’ HOWEVER the psychological element was there from second one.
Ooooog there is so much to talk about but overall, Oliver was a disturbing figure.

I have recently fallen in love with @griddlebait 's fic semi-charmed kinda life. I have never been the biggest fan of slice of life fiction- it just never really seemed to compare to grand narratives and complicated plots- but I am beginning to think that I may have just been missing out this whole time!
SCKL is a wonderfully charming and just plain comfortable fic that feels altogether very real to me. It feels like I'm catching up on the lives of my friends, but heightened somewhat. I feel the struggles of apartment 69 mirroring my own experiences in such a refreshing way that I can't help but fall in love.
Palamedes as an egg? Perf. Griddle's fear of replacement? Terrifying. Harrow? I might make an entirely new post just to talk about Harrow. She was my favorite in canon for how closely I felt seen by the character, and strangedelight's work has only found brand new ways to call me out lmao.
In conclusion, I woke up to Chapter 10 and I am already wanting the next chapter! It's sooo good! I wish I had friends who both read fanfiction and TLT together so I can inflict this on them. I might just inflict it on them anyways.

Well... went and saw Boy and the Heron tonight... And yeah that movie is a whole ass trip. On one hand it's always great to get to see Ghibli movies in theater. On the other hand this is the first movie by Miyazaki (I'm pretty sure he directed this one)(I was unable to see the edit movie maker style end credits through my bafflement) that I'm not sure I liked? Like I definitely enjoyed parts of it but I think Miyazaki's caught his son's problem with telling a coherent story. Which... again... baffled me. The movies got a lot of interesting threads but has trouble tying them together and tying them off. It just wasn't very satisfying? If that makes sense? It just kind of smashed cuts from one scene to the next to the next alot of the time, like the scenes could have been helped if they flowed between each other better? Then the climax is... Odd. And then it just kinda ends... So yeah. IDK maybe it'll grow on me with a rewatch? There were definitely neat little moments, and alot of fun and interesting ideas. I'd still recommend to check it out, it's still Ghibli, it's still gorgeous (mostly*), it's still entertaining, just not their best ya know? (*The only thing that looked off was the occasional 3d, especially [SPOILER?] the giant space rock??? It looked so bad next to their painted backgrounds! Like why😩)

My Review Of The Movie "Red, White Royal blue".
Hello, how are you? So today I came to give my honest opinion of the movie, Red white Royal blue. And the reason I'm talking Only now is because I'll just watch the movie one of these days (🤡) I'll talk about the positives and negatives and I thought of the movie at the end.
____________________________________________
First Impressions 💜
Tumblr media
I saw this movie for the first time through reviews on youtube, I admit I didn't find it that interesting at first I haven't seen any of these videos so I didn't get any spoilers for the movie.
but when I was browsing Prime Video I found this movie and thought "I have nothing to do I'll watch it, maybe I'll like it". So this is where my new obsession started.
To start the film is amazing! I know there will be people who don't like it. But I can't forget to mention that (Taylor and Nick) did an amazing job as (Alex and Henry).
I'll be real I don't like romance. But this movie in particular made me like it. Everything about this movie works and works so well. Everything is so incredible I will protect this movie until I die.
In short, I started the film in disbelief and ended up converted. the movie is really fun to watch the couple besides having chemistry They are wonderful. The cutscenes are magical when watched for the first time. The note I will give at the end.
____________________________________________
Positive Points 💖
Tumblr media
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this movie is perfect, obviously it's in my top 3 best movies ever. But now I will talk about the points that pleased me most in the movie.
The personalities of the protagonists.
The mood of the movie.
The motivation of the characters.
The Kissing Scenes.
the hot scenes.
the comedy scenes
The soundtrack.
The chemistry that the protagonists have.
the dialogues are very good.
Romance works awesome (better than many movies)
The way they approach sensitive topics
The evolution that the main characters have with the passage of the movie
the movie is long.
The actors are amazing at their job.
The scenes are simply to thrill anyone, they are so good.
The support that the characters have.
the entire movie is great on its own.
Despite being based on the book, the movie has its own story.
The movie manages to convey exactly the emotion it wants to convey.
The references!
Protagonists aren't Boring (they're the best I've ever seen)
They don't romanticize crime (as many romance movies do (365 Days specifically))
The main points that I found most relevant From the movie I liked the most (I liked several others too but I only put my favorites).
____________________________________________
Negative Points 💔
Tumblr media
This session is going to be pretty vague and quick as I didn't find anything relevant enough to post here (and the movie doesn't have any really significant negatives) but I will mention here the most relevant and important ones that I found.
Henry's mother is unimportant in the movie although in the book she is quite important.
June is not present in the movie.
Miguel Ramos (I just hate the character in a way you have no idea)
Didn't have the wedding of the protagonists 😭
Well, it was just three negative points that I found really relevant,And also because I didn't find any other errors Meaningful to put in this topic. So it's going to be really short (which won't be the case for the next one)
____________________________________________
My Favorite Scenes 💜💖
1 - New year party 💖
Tumblr media
What could I say about this scene? Is so perfect in so many layers that I don't even know where to start.. The way in which the other guests fall to the ground as the two protagonists stare at each other is so gratifying. an eye candy. When I saw it for the first time I thought to myself "This is it! This is my favorite movie ever" You can see the chemistry! I was like "Fuck, what a freakout I'm having" my heart was going to stop and I didn't know what to do, Just.
The way they look at each other, the music playing in the background, you can see it and something so magical and magnificent that I can't find words to describe this cinematic wonder. Amazon prime You hottie! You did the best job you could. And the director of that movie was the best.I can't look at this scene without feeling happiness leaping into my eyes.
2 - They First Kiss 💘
Tumblr media
I already knew that at some point this scene was going to happen, but when it happens it's so good but so good that it took me by surprise.and as amazing as all this happens, I sometimes wonder how they managed to make something as amazing as amazing as the book.
The way Alex is slow to understand things makes me identify with him, And the way Henry is impatient just makes me think they were really meant for each other.
3 - Museum Scene 💗
Tumblr media
for anyone who watched the movie knows how symbolic this scene really is.I think it's so cool to see them dancing among the statues, the music makes the scene even better. just facts.
What made me like this scene the most is how romantic it is. This is one of the many scenes in the movie that made me feel Good, the way the scene is Serene, Calm, smooth and silent You hear nothing but the music. And this scene where we also have the famous "history, Huh?" it's just so amazing to me.
____________________________________________
Final Notes 💟
Tumblr media
well, there are many scenes that I loved in the movie, I only put three because they were the ones that I found most symbolic. now The movie in general is great Because in addition to having such good Scenes the actors did a great job.
Random Opinion 💖
- Zahra It's the best character Change my mind.
- Miguel is the character I hate the most in history.
the movie is amazing i will protect it until my death as i mentioned earlier. If there are a thousand movies I will watch a thousand movies no matter what! That's it kisses.
Note I give for the Movie : 10/10

I ordered three Sanji items from @janitoad and because there was some production errors with one of my pins, he was nice enough to send me extra goodies!
I love my extra Sanjis and the other cute goodies. There's a few explicit things that I censored with other products.
It's all very good quality! Even the flaws with the pin are only things I'd notice when I look really hard for them. He makes so many cute Sanjis. I certainly missed out on some, but I'm so happy with what I did get! If you like anything you see make sure to check his store out!

I watched Miss Congeniality yesterday and omg New York was so real for that
Btw this is what I was talking ABT if u haven't seen the movie
Tumblr media
ALSO THE MC AND RODE ISLAND SHOULDVE BEEN GAY NO I DONT TAKE CRITICISIM/hj
But aside from the Mc being low-key kinda sexist in the biggining (for plot and executed really well actually) and some of the over the top fan service (as tasteful a 2000s movie can be and actually really funny) it was really fucking good. For an hour and half movie the paceing was really good. Something I noticed about newer movies that they try to rush through everything and provide wayy to much information thus treating their audience like idiots. Not saying all movies, but yeah I feel like I'm 5 when I'm watching Hollywood movies that came out n the last 5 years.
And yeah the Mc was kinda terrible in the biggining but it was still handled pretty well I think. Like she didnt go all supper feminine at the end and still stayed true to herself, just without the self lothing of being a woman. And she learned to take better care of herself!!! We love self care. I have much more thoughts about this but idk how to articulate it any better
ALSO THE SENCE WHERE THE MC IS JUST POPING OFF AND THE MALE LEAD TAKES THE CREDIT FOR IT IS ACTUALLY SO FUNNY like, it was self aware and well done and not in a hateful way AND FUCK GOOD MOVIE GO WATCH .
But the script probably my favorite part. It didn't feel like u where told the plot, you where seeing it AND BROSKIS I WANNA SEE MORE OF THAT!!! like, each scene was imprtant to the plot even if it didn't feel like it was. Other plot or character development. WE LOVE GOOD SCRIPTING.

So my bf and I binged it all in one day.
No spoilers but I have thoughts.
My main complaint is the pacing?? Like holy shit the first episode is one heck of a whirlwind.
The quick recap is appreciated but omg it feels like from the very first scene someone dropped a rock on the accelerator pedal.
Like why we going so fuckin fast
Also why is it only ten episodes? Like why not just give it a little more breathing room?
The monster of the week stuff isnt here obviously but like we also threw out steady power increases in the process
I like the bones of the show I just wish it was better paced.

Upon finishing American Gods, I have never felt so inspired, so amazed, and so incredibly sure that what I want most of all is to be an author. What Neil Gaiman has done there. I just can't even... It's exactly what it says on the tin, a story about America, what it was, what it is, and how it really has never changed, and how somehow, despite that, it has changed entirely. Having lived in America all my life, and having traveled to many of the states myself, by plane, train, and automobile, it was something I could never put my finger on, but Neil nailed with a dart from across the dingy dive bar. America is vast, and it's not a good place for Gods. Not because of a lack of belief in them, or because the land is hostile, though that surely plays a part. America is not a good place for Gods because, when you're faced with the vast possibilities of what could be, and the horrors of what is, you can't help but be both terrified, and wonderstruck. It is unsurprising to me that this book won horror, fantasy, and science fiction awards. Because it is indefinable, and so is the America it portrays.

Forgot to mention in the review but *SPOILERS*
the makai insects (the one that Suzaku controls with the bagpipe looking thing in the anime) appear in ep 1. It was super interesting to see it play out and I enjoyed it. The insect is also way bigger than I thought it would be. I thought it would be the size of a mosquito but nah
Yusuke’s death is way more aggressive and bloodier compared to both the anime and manga it shocked me so much I had to do a double take 😆
I also like how the truck driver is listening to Hohoemi no Bakudan it’s only a small part but I literally got chills when I heard it (in a good way) this is also from the first episode.
Koenma and Botan are PERFECT
Yusuke eating ramen at the Yukimura restaurant (run by Keiko’s family and she works there)
Elder Toguro shapeshifting into Hiei to kidnap Keiko… wasn’t expecting that but it was terrifying
TOGURO BROTHERS ESPECIALLY ELDER TOGURO ARE TERRIFYING
Shizuru (Kuwabara’s sister) unfortunately doesn’t make an appearance in the series but Atsuko (Yusuke’s mother) does
Keiko is way more involved in the series
Hiei and Kuwabara still banter at times which I love
* super tired when I did the review it was midnight *
