DC x DP Prompt *22*
His mom is dead.
It had been sudden, unexpected. But on the other hand it should have been obvious. Mom and Dad always were lax with the lab safety. And ectoplasm was radioactive. The cancer had taken her.
His Dad was sure the ghost killed her.
Jack Fenton wasn't his jolly self anymore. He tried to rip every being apart he labelled as Ghost.
And the he saw Danny transform.
"Abomination"
"Ghost scum"
"Murderer"
Danny fled through the portal into the realms. His father's words echoing in his head. He stayed on a lone island, crying for the parents he lost.
His rouges started to get desperate. The Ghostling wouldn't fight them or even talk to them. He just sat there, crying or sleeping.
It was Desiree who approached him again.
"What do you wish for? I won't twist your words"
And Danny was desperate himself. He wanted to go home. To hug Mom and Dad. To be loved.
"I just wish my Dad would love me", his sobbing made it hard to understand, but Desiree understood clearly enough.
The next time Danny opens his eyes he can't see a thing. And he can't really move. He is laying in a wooden box. He is in a coffin! All he can think before the panic sets in, is:
'My Dad just loves me, if I died completely?'
Unbeknownst to him, above his coffin is a headstone.
The headstone of Jason Peter Todd-Wayne.

Danny’s parents don’t vivisect him when he tells them he’s Phantom
They don’t even reject him. They pull him into a tight hug and cry, whispering broken-voiced apologies as he talks about what he’s been through. But that doesn’t mean everything is fine. He doesn’t see the way they tense, the wild-eyed looks they share as they come to terms with their new reality. Their baby is dead. He’s dead and it’s their fault. Every shot. Every new weapon they were sure would be the one to take that dreaded menace down. Fuck, every hours-long rant about just what they’d like to do with that dastardly Phantom if they ever got their hands on him. Danny paling as he learned to fear them. Jack and Maddie had always worked so hard to protect their children. Sure, they hadn’t always been perfect, but why else would they throw themselves into ghost hunting the way they had if not for their children? It had been for their children, right? Every sleepless night over blue prints and days hammering away in their labs or off chasing whatever spirit they had found, it had been to keep their babies safe, hadn’t it? Hadn’t it? Even the ghost portal, their magnum opus which let all these ghosties through in the first place had been so they could better understand their enemy. But it had been it which did their boy in. Had they missed out on so much of Danny’s childhood just to build the guillotine that came down on his neck? Their poor boy. He’d been through so much. What kind of parents were they if they couldn’t even keep their children safe in death? Didn’t their boy deserve to rest in peace? Why was the world so cruel? Was there anything they could do? Anything at all?
They didn’t deserve to live.
Their babies weren’t safe. Never had been. Never WOULD be, not so long as they existed.
There had to be a way. A way to keep them safe from the cruelty of this life and the next.
The Fenton parents knew well by now how to destroy a core. What if they… Was there a way to destroy one before it got the chance to form? If there was enough destructive ecto like they used in their guns (oh god, why did they have so many god damned guns?), any core would theoretically be wiped out before it got the chance to form properly. If they took everything down to the lab, rewired the portal a bit, just enough to make it unstable… it would be easy enough to get Danny and Jazz down there, all they’d have to is ask (they had such good kids). They could just… lock the lab doors. Tell the kids to count to three. It would be so easy.
Could they do this?
They had to
They were parents, they needed to make sure their babies were safe
No matter the cost

Whatever Maddie had been expecting when she arrived, it probably wasn’t the coldest look Alicia could offer. She must not have noticed at first as Alicia’s sister jumped out of their monster of a vehicle, not even closing the doors as she ran towards the house.
But she came to a stop when she finally realized her sister wasn’t as happy to see her as she was. Her smile fading as she took in the cold, hard glare from Alicia.
Alicia was the first to speak.
“What did you do to him?”
Confusion was the first thing to cross her face before the realization, then the disbelief, “You DID see them?! And you didn’t stop Jazz?”
Alicia stalked forward, “Mads, what the hell did you do to your own son? To my nephew?”
“That’s what I was trying to tell you, it’s not Danny! It’s something that took his place and has convinced Jazz-!”
Alicia couldn’t believe what she was hearing, when had her sister become so… delusional? “Madeline. What did you do to Danny?”
“I was trying to find him! The ghost who replaced him-“ Maddie tried to talk over her, but Alicia tore through it with a much more strained voice.
“Ghost, Maddie? Again with these ghosts? Are you so far lost that you can’t even tell your children from your insane work?” Alicia practically snarled.
“They took Danny! That’s why I-, WE have to find them! Before that ghost takes Jazz too!”
Maddie was turning to walk away, and Alicia lunged forward and twisted her sister back around by the shoulder, “You don’t even realize what you’ve done to your own son! He’s probably dead now, because of you! While you’ve driven away your daughter, all under this DELUSION!”
“A ghost replaced him, Alicia!” Maddie snapped. “It took his place, I was trying to find him! And you’ve all been tricked! Manipulated into feeling empathy for that thing!”
She wasn’t getting through to her…
So Alicia used a tactic from when the pair of them were young, when Maddie would get so coiled up in her own brain and fail to pull back to see the bigger picture.
She would indulge Maddie to walk through those thoughts step by step, Alicia never actually needed to know too much about what Maddie would get worked up about. Pick up what she could from her sister and keep her going forward instead of in circles.
“How do you know a ghost replaced him, Mads?” Her voice had grown softer than before, but it seemed as though her sister didn’t pick up on that.
“We saw it turn from a ghost into something that looked like Danny!”
“And why would a ghost replace Danny?”
“Because ghosts are all malicious manipulators, especially that Phantom! Of course he was the one who stole my son…”
Alicia dug into her memories the times Maddie would rant about ghosts, and something stood out to her in that moment, “Didn’t you say that ghosts were echoes of the dead?”
Maddie paused, before slowly answering, “…yes. Just echoes. Nothing is real, they are no longer who they were when they were alive.”
“And how would you know that?” Alicia asked, barely giving Maddie a moment to argue before continuing, “an echo is still a piece of someone, they may no longer be exactly who they were when alive, but there is still a part of them as that ghost, right?”
Maddie opened her mouth before closing it again, her mind clearly working through what Alicia had said.
Jack had remained in the vehicle the entire time the two had been talking so far, and Alicia glanced to the man before back to her sister.
He looked… broken.
Maddie still hasn’t responded, and Alicia asked a question she was quickly dreading, “Mads… what did this ghost look like… before it turned into Danny?”
A quick hand to her mouth to cover a broken sob was all the information that Alicia needed.
“Oh Mads… what did you do?”
Maddie shook her head, stumbling backwards and Alicia had to catch her as she dropped to her knees, “it- … he… he looked like Danny. Different colours…his hair was white and his eyes were green instead but… he looked the exact same… there were scars on him… ones that looked like it was caused by lightning…”
Her sister burrowed her head into Alicia’s shoulder as she connected the dots in her head, sobbing, “is… is my little boy dead? Has he been dead this whole time?”
“Did… did I kill him a second time?”

I saw this and got ideas! Love aunt Alicia content and always love when more crosses my dash!
Phic Phight 2024: Lies and Smoke
Prompt by @vigilant-insomniac: "Aunt Alicia hasn't been to Amity Park in a long time, she regrets not visiting her niece and nephew sooner.
She knew her sister and her brother in law were the mad type of scientists, but she always imagined them drawing the line when it came to their kids. She should've known better."
The world around Alicia's car was nothing more than a tunnel of darkness. She released one clawed hand from the wheel to fidget with the radio knob. No matter what station she changed it to, she received only static. It buzzed waspishly in her ears. The road stretched endlessly.
Alongside the droning noise, echoed Jazz’s panicked voice. Alicia's hand returned its death grip on the wheel. Voices faded in and out from the radio. Snippets of conversations that soon faded into the void.
Would her sister really do that to her kids? To Danny?
Parents’ weren’t supposed to have favorites. Well, so the movies said. But her parents had favored Maddie and Maddie clearly favored her son. Not that Jazz was unloved, Maddie (and Jack) very much adored the kids. But the baby of the family would always be the baby.
She turned a corner. A green sign lit up by her headlights told her she only had 40 miles left. The dim, green lights from the clock on her dash glowed 3:26.
What the hell was she going to do when she got there? Jazz couldn't give much detail, too busy hyperventilating over the phone. God, it must be bad, really bad if someone as level-headed as her could barely speak.
She looked over at her first aid kit in the passenger. Would that even be enough? She tugged on her chapped lips with her teeth. In her rear view mirror she caught a glimpse of the dark colored towels in the back seat. It felt more like she was going to help dispose of a body more than anything. She hoped that wasn’t what she was doing.
She parked down the road. She briefly pressed her forehead to the wheel before unlatching her fingers. She gathered the towels and clumsily slinked to the alleyway by the house. Despite the sky lightening up, Fenton Works loomed over her. The windows were like slate; they were lidded over with curtains and the small gaps between revealed dark, indistinguishable shapes. The house was still like a held breath. Should she try the back door?
There was movement in one of the windows near the back.
That answered her question.
She went to the back door and waited. The door opened only a sliver and a wild, light blue eye darted out. It took an uneasy moment before the eye recognized her. The door swung open fully to reveal Jazz cradling Danny in her arms.
The first thing Alicia noticed was the blood. It matted his hair, dripped caresses along his chin, and rolled down his arms.
“We need to go now,” Jazz whispered harshly through clenched teeth.
She started to grab the towels from Alicia with one hand which startled her into action. She helped Jazz wrap him up in them. She nearly dropped him at one point from the shock of how light he was. His eyelids fluttered, but never fully opened. He didn't even groan.
She tried to help hold Danny, but Jazz clutched him close to her chest and urged Alicia to rush down the alleyway and to the truck. She slid into the backseat with her brother and held his head gingerly in her lap. Alicia's hands trembled as they turned her keys still stuck in ignition and started pulling away from the curb.
“Do you have a first aid kit?” Jazz started pulling her hair up into a ponytail. “He needs care. I didn't have time to do anything at the house.”
“Shouldn't we take him to a hospital? I know we're… getting away from your parents, but maybe one out of town?”
“No hospitals,” she replied sternly. “I'll explain more later. Just know that my parents wouldn't be the only people we would have to worry about if we go to the hospital.”
Alicia shivered and passed the kit over without taking her eyes off the road. A moment passed and she spoke again.
“We'll have to stop at some point. I've been driving all night and I don't know how much longer I can drive.” She rubbed her eyes and refocused them on the road.
“I'll take over, if that's alright with you. I'd really prefer if we made it to your house before my parents realize we're gone.”
Alicia caught a glimpse of Jazz pulling out wound wash and cotton pads in her rear view mirror.
“That’s fine with me. I trust you not to crash the truck,” she said lightheartedly.
It fell flat but Jazz smiled briefly.
After Jazz took care of Danny as much as she could and Alicia could barely keep her eyes open, the pair switched spots. Alicia settled into the backseat and rested her nephew's head in her lap. Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, but she was determined to see the extent of his wounds before she nodded off. With a tenderness she couldn't remember the last time she used, she shifted the towels he was still blanketed in.
He was shirtless. She hadn't noticed that before. Then the bandages. They covered his whole torso. Already they were beginning to soak through. Oddly, the blood seemed to be one line up until it branched out on his chest. If she didn't know better, it looked like…
No. There's absolutely no fucking way. Her sister was eccentric. Not absolutely batshit insane!
The nausea was all consuming as she put the towels back in place. She pressed her eyes tightly closed like a child under a blanket. It was a long time before she could sleep.
The truck stuttered to a stop, jolting her awake. Jazz had already slipped out. Alicia quickly got out of the car to stretch and pop her back. When had she gotten so old?
Jazz shakily lifted Danny into her arms. Alicia knew better than to offer help this time. They made their way to the sagging porch which groaned forlornly. She unlocked the door and Jazz pushed past to set Danny down on the couch. Her fussing started immediately.
She adjusted him into what she must have deemed the most comfortable position before kissing his forehead. Her lips lingered and her brows furrowed. As if second guessing herself, she pressed the back of her hand to his head. Then her palm. Then along his temples and cheeks. She stood and trained her gaze on Alicia who still stood by the (now closed) door.
“He's burning up,” Jazz said with a barely concealed waver. “He runs colder than normal, but right now he's warmer than me.”
“I'll get a rag. Maybe some ice packs.” Alicia scurried off in relief. Finally, she could be useful.
She returned with the supplies. Jazz had removed most of the towels, leaving only one underneath him. She took the wet rag and placed it over his eyes and forehead. Next, she took the ice packs and strategically placed them around his body. Alicia stepped back so Jazz could stand from her kneeling position.
“Do you have a cooking syringe? We need a way to administer water and maybe blended food.” She redid her messy ponytail as she spoke. “Also, do you have any sort of antibiotics? I'm worried the fever is from infection.”
“I don't have nothin’ more than Neosporin. I think the best we can do right now is clean the wound with actual soap and maybe some heat,” she said as she scratched her chin. “As for a syringe, there should be one in the third drawer by the sink.”
Jazz nodded her head slowly, her eyes cloudy in thought. She went to the kitchen and started searching through the drawer. Alicia left her to it and went up stairs to grab her bar soap and a hand towel.
When she came back down, Jazz was already placing the full syringe between his lips and teeth. She'd allow a few drops before stopping. It would be no good for him to drown at this point after everything. Alicia went to the kitchen to retrieve her biggest bowl and filled it with hot water. She hovered over Jazz’s shoulder until she finished up.
Jazz put the syringe on the coffee table and reached for the bowl, towel, and soap. Alicia passed it over easily.
“Go take a nap. I promise I'll take one myself once I'm done cleaning Danny.”
Alicia grunted in agreement and trudged upstairs to her room. She barely took off her boots before she passed out on her bed, feet still hanging off the foot of it.
A shrieking ring startled Alicia awake. She rubbed at the drool on the side of her face and at her crusted over eyes. It was coming from her phone. She reached into her front overall pocket and answered it without looking.
“‘Ello?”
“Alicia!”
Her eyes bulged at the sound of her sister's frantic voice. Fuck.
“What's wrong?”
“Jazz is gone! And she took…. Look, are they with you?”
“Jazz and Danny? No.” She swallowed harshly and prayed that Maddie didn't hear it.
“Really?” Alicia could hear the furrow between her brows. “Well, if you do, stay away from Danny. It's not actually him. He tricked Jazz into thinking he is.”
There was a breathless sob on the other end.
“Al. I really need you right now,” she warbled. “I'm going through a tough time right now. I think it's better if I could tell you everything in person?”
Shitshitshitshitsh–
“Course, Mads.” Alicia mouthed fuck to herself over and over until Maddie spoke again.
“I'm giving you a heads up that I'm bringing Jack. I need him too. We should be there by tomorrow morning.”
“Okay.” Her fingers rhythmically clenched and unclenched around her phone.
“Love you, bye.”
“Bye.”
As soon as the call ended, Alicia threw her phone away from her. They were so fucked. She stood, checked her beside clock (had she really slept five hours?), and stumbled down the stairs as quickly as she could without eating shit.
“Jazz! Your parents are coming over. Your mom said they'll be by tomorrow morning. We're going to have to find somewh–” she froze.
Jazz had two fingers pressed tight to Danny's wrist. Stone still. She slowly turned to look at Alicia over her shoulder.
“He's not breathing. I can't feel anything.”
“Oh.” Alicia didn't know she could make a noise like that. Like she had been gutted.
Jazz lifted herself onto her feet, never letting go of Danny's hand. Her other one rested in his hair and slowly started stroking the ends.
“Listen, just… just go shower, okay? Then I'll shower. Then we'll figure out what we're going to do,” she murmured basically to herself.
Alicia nodded and clutched the wall for support as vomit rose to her throat. After a few steadying breaths, she choked it down. Call her a coward, but she was going to take any escape she could. It was all just too much too fast.
She bolted up the stairs and grabbed a soft, worn pair of jeans, a cotton t-shirt, and a pair of boxers. Her hands trembled the entire time, from turning the knobs to numbly scrubbing herself down. She didn't know how long she was in there, but by the end the water raised goosebumps along her flesh. She dressed herself quickly. A breath in, a breath out. She headed downstairs.
The couch was empty.
“JAZZ! JAZZ, WHERE ARE YOU?”
No response besides the mocking echo of her voice against the walls.
She rushed outside and skidded to a halt. Her truck was gone. Fresh tracks marred her dirt driveway. She stood there for a long time.
She walked the few miles to the nearest convenience store and back. She sat on her wilting porch which was sadder than usual and brought out her newly purchased lighter. She brought a cigarette to her lips, lit it, and smoked the first one she'd had in sixteen years. And she waited for her sister to come home.

GhostKing!Maddie
Reveal gone right. Good parents Jack and Maddie.
Danny tells his parents that he’s Phantom and they accept him with open arms and hearts and the willingness to change their views. With this they start their research on Ghost culture, because that’s a part of their baby’s life (afterlife?) now so of course they’re going to make sure they understand their son so as to avoid potential culture clashes in the future.
(Did you know ghosts fight as a form of bonding?! Fascinating!)
At some point in their research they learn that the method of succession for the title of King of the Infinite Realms if for the former king to be defeated in trial by combat.
They learn that Danny defeated the former king tyrant Pariah Dark.
Their little Dann-o is the new King.
But he’s just a baby! Their baby! Cry his parents.
Danny is only 14, going on 15. Even if he’s a teenager he’s still their baby boy, and he is far too young to be forced to deal with politics alongside school and all the other dramas that come with teenagerhood.
They were young once, the Fenton parents remember how major some things were for teenagers and how stressful it could be. And Danny had already been through so much with protecting the town. And they wanted to make up for what they put him through before they knew it was him. Danny says it alright, they didn’t know but they do now and that accept him and that’s what matters! And oh do their hearts ache at the memories of shooting at their son and all the terrible things they said about him while he was right there.
No, they wouldn’t allow their son to deal with everything in his own when they could help him. Somehow. How do they help with this?
Then, Maddie demands an audience with the council. There, declares herself the King.
The Observants argue that she can’t possibly be the King as she is not a ghost, nor did she defeat the previous king to take the title. And anything else that they could use to oppose the idea.
Maddie counters that as her son isn’t even legally old enough to drive yet (the age is 16 in American right?) he cannot take on such responsibilities until he is of a certain age. Jack is nodding along enthusiastically as Maddie verbally eviscerates these floating eyeballs.
Clockwork is smirking in the corner. He likes Phantom’s mother. And he agrees with the Drs Fenton. He backs her up, and says that young Daniel had other pressing matters to attend to and that yes, he is in fact too young for the full responsibilities that come with being the King of the Infinite Realms. He is so young, and still of the living being a halfa that he would require education of the Realms laws before he could officially take up the crown.
But what about Maddie? She’s fully human, how could she possibly be placed in that position then without the same training?
Clockwork smiles as Frosbite or maybe Pandora, one of Danny’s other allies, states that the council could handle things until then, and that they would have had to have waited regardless for Danny to be up to speed before he could feasibly take on the role of King and confidently make decisions without the guidance of the council at every turn. With Maddie as a placeholder she could still sign off on things or act as a figure head, at least until Phantom could take on his role as the fully realised King.
Anyway, Maddie becomes the Ghost King. Or at least temporarily while her baby boy finishes high school and can decide what he wants to do. At least this is one less thing he has to worry about.
This however results in instances of cults and all manner of people trying to summon the Ghost King for one reason or another. But instead they get one Dr Maddie Fenton.
Sometimes it’s some kids that were fooling around at a slumber party, and she warns them on the dangers of summoning unknown entities without doing proper throughout research before hand and ensuring they have the proper protective measures if something were to go wrong.
And then there are cults and magic users and everything in-between that are trying to summon the Ghost King for personal gain.
These individuals are more often than not met with the sight of a bazooka, pulled from seemingly thin air, aimed directly at them as the very ominous sound of the woman counting down echos in the air. The ones with half a brain would book it.
All of this while maintaining the midwestern politeness would be both hilarious and a little ominous.
Then one day the Justice League, or any of the other teams, are breaking up a cult ritual that they got wind of to summon a powerful being for the purpose of destroying something or someone. I’m not to fussed on their motives.
But just before they can stop it the summing is cast and the air is filled with such a heavy sense of forbidding that it makes the hairs on the back of one’s beck stand on end.
The room darkens, the shadows seemingly converging in the centre of the summoning circle. It feels hard to breathe, and there’s a hint of something other in the air around them that just keeps increasing in intensity. It feels like reality is being around them, and just as quickly as it all began a crack appears within the circle. And a toxic green (Lazarus green) glow seems out of it as it opens like the unhinging jaw of a predator. There’s a blinding flash of green and then there is a woman, judging by her build, in a teal spandex suit with goggles fastened on her face.
She scans the room in silence before her eyes falls on the heroes standing in defensive positions before her. The cultists are all tied up or knocked out, or just frozen in place because holy shit the summing worked.
It’s never worked before.
But who is this woman?
And where is the Ghost King?
The head cultist, whom was still yet to be detained, demands to know who she is and where is the Ghost King?!
Maddie smiles as she pulls out her Fenton bazooka and says, “Oh bless your heart, I am the Ghost King!”
Where this goes from here, I’m not sure. This was all I had when is tarted writing this and right now I’m too tired to think. I just hope someone likes it and if you do, feel free to add anything! And if you have any critiques feel free to tell me!
(My apologise if I leave out a chunk of information, I’m writing this in my pyjamas half asleep and just trying to get it all written down. Also I’m not from the US, and haven’t watched Danny Phantom in a hot minute, so if I got something wrong pls forgive me.)

Okay, so. Hear me out here.
I know in the Phandom, the 'Jack and Maddie vivisect Danny once they find out' thing is really common, but Everytime I see it, it just doesn't really hit right.
Look at zombie movies, look at other horror pictures. When a family has one of their own turn into a monster, they don't kill them for their own good. They lock them up and look for a cure.
AU where a reveal gone wrong has Danny locked up in his parent's lab, not as an experimentation subject, but as some sort of twisted pet until they can further their research on other ghosts. He's taken care of somewhat, but can only sit there and watch as other ghosts are dragged in and vivisected.
After all, there's no use harming the subject you wish to save.
For a DpxDc au with this, maybe the Fenton's work with Cadmus on this, or some hero finds the cage.

Let Danny’s Parents Be Criminals
I hate the reveal gone wrong trope in the dpxdc fandom because we know Jack and Maddie end up supporting Danny and Dani in the end. His parents have some major flaws but wanting to torture their actual child isn’t one. What they are guilty of is going way too hard on any plan they cook up without thinking of the consequences.
If I were writing a dpxdc fic and I wanted Danny in adoptable status I’d just have Jack and Maddie in jail on charges of domestic terrorism after they killed off GIW agents and destroyed the GIW’s bases. They realized their ghost kids were in potential danger and went at the government the same way they went at ghosts, guns blazing and with reckless driving.
They end up in federal prison and they Vlad wins custody cause he’s rich and there is your runaway Danny plot starter.

DP x DC idea
Y'all feel free to ignore this, I just gotta get this funky little idea out of my head.
So it's a reveal gone wrong....kinda. You see while Maddy is insistent that there's no way the ghost boy is her son, Jack is an emotional wreck. Apologizing to Danny for not noticing and for all the threats he hurled his way. He also promises to convince Maddy that Danny really is their son and not some ghost pretending to be him.
Maddy starts coming around and things are finally looking up for Danny, until Jack has to go somewhere and next thing he knows, he's strapped to a table.
Maddy is convinced that once she opens the ghost boy up, she'll be able to prove that he's just imitating life and isn't really alive. Then she'll show Jack and he'll believe her and they'll get back to proving how dangerous ghosts can be.
When Jack gets back, she excitedly rushes to him. Ready to show him her proof. Meanwhile a feel of dread builds up in the big man's chest as his wife's rant gets more and more maniac. They get down to the basement where there's Danny on the table. Except it's not the Danny he left, this Danny is a small baby with snow white hair and glowing green eyes.
Jack isn't even listening to his wife's explanation about how this proves this isn't their son, he just scoops the boy up and leaves.
Unsure of what to do and knowing both his wife and the giw will be after him, he goes to Vlad. Who despite his "hatred" for the two takes one look at Jack on the verge of a breakdown with baby Danny in his arms and immediately sets them up with a plan.
He sends them to Gotham with fake IDs because the ambient ectoplasm is enough to mask Danny's signature and it might even help him recover.
So they get there right and everyone around them is immediately like ???. Because where did this strangely energetic man and his giggly baby come from and why are they in Gotham of all places!?
Still, Jack's overall golden retriever energy wins them over and they think he's fine albeit a little eccentric. Until one night...
You see Danny is a baby, with the powers of a powerful half ghost, who doesn't understand that he has to hide his powers or the dangers of a baby wandering the streets at night. Cue the baby constantly turning intangible and just... slipping through the walls, leaving Jack to go running after him. Danny thinks it's a fun game. Jack thinks he won't be able to take anymore of this.
Unfortunately for poor Jack Fenton, one night during a Danny chase, he sees his boy heading right towards a fight. Between the bats and this weird guy dressed as a luchador with weird tubes sticking out of him. Then the luchador notices Danny, and Jack is brought back to that day a couple of months ago. The day he failed to protect his son. He's not going to let him down again so he does the only thing he can think of.
He absolutely bodies the luchador, scoops his son up, and runs. Not stopping until he's safely back in his rinky little apartment. Danny is giggling and making cooing noises, blissfully unaware.
Meanwhile the batfam is in shock about this huge man who came out of nowhere and just dealt with Bane like he was a nuisance more than anything. This definitely requires some investigation.
Link to the next addition!

Dear Fans of SnaccPop Studios,
We recognize that many of you have questions about SnaccPop Studios and recent events. We want to provide clarity, particularly in relation to personal relationships among colleagues, our fans, workplace ethics and defamation.
First, we need to clear up allegations about our team's payments. Previous leadership had poor communication and time management skills, which caused contractor payments to be delayed. Inadequate management prompted us to make managerial changes over the summer. Under new management, recent delays occurred because we needed to wait for state and federal approvals, transfer managerial revenue, and draft new contracts which team members were made aware of. Additionally, we faced defamatory accusations regarding two team members crowdfunding efforts for housing and cancer treatment. These accusations falsely implied that we had not paid them, which led some individuals to demand that we use our Patreon and Kickstarter funds to cover their expenses in full. SnaccPop Studios operates as a zero-profit entity and cannot cover anything beyond production costs.
Some team members shared partial work-related information with their friends and associates. These friends and associates, without having the full context and knowledge, made incorrect assumptions and drew premature conclusions about our workplace practices. Certain individuals spread misinformation and lies in private group chats and servers based on what our team members said to them in confidence. Some of these individuals in these group chats and servers were also mutual friends of JambeeBot. These individuals believed that defamation, humiliation, and isolation were justifiable punishments for JambeeBot, and by extension SnaccPop Studios, for not releasing Something's Wrong with Sunny Day Jack on its intended release date. Ultimately, these actions led to JambeeBot posting a mental health crisis note on Twitter (X). These events have left our team members feeling demoralized, dehumanized, betrayed, and deeply hurt. We ask those reading this not to seek out these individuals. If they reveal themselves and publicly apologize, we urge you not to respond with harassment or threats.
The actions of these individuals have caused our team members to feel anxious, fearful, and saddened around our projects. Some team members have even considered leaving SnaccPop Studios and creative work altogether. It is deeply disheartening to see the extent to which some individuals have gone to hurt others over a game. No project, media, franchise, or character should be so central to someone's identity, self-worth, or emotional stability that it justifies harming others. Creative projects are meant to bring joy, entertainment, and connection—these individuals tainted that by turning a source of delight and fun into anguish and dread. Their actions have undermined the creative spirit that fuels these projects, making it harder for us to feel safe, inspired, and excited to continue the work we love.
We urge everyone to reflect on how they engage with creators, projects, and fandom spaces. Respect, empathy, and understanding are essential to maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. Our team members should not fear humiliation, isolation, and defamation due to release delays, creative directions, or unforeseen production challenges. We ask for your understanding and respect as we work to maintain our boundaries and focus on moving forward.
Finally, we want to kindly inform our audience that the absence of a production update simply means there are no new or significant developments to report currently. Rest assured; we will communicate any important updates as soon as they become available. Speculation and rumors during periods of silence add unnecessary stress and hinder our ability to focus on creating content. We respectfully ask that you refrain from making potentially defamatory assumptions when updates are delayed.
Sincerely,
The SnaccPop Studios Team

Good Parents, but does it Matter?
There's reveal gone right, and reveal gone wrong, and so many different possible situation to deal with Danny's relationship with his parents. But one in particular that I can't stop thinking about is reveal come too late.
Let's say Phantom is shot down, by another ghost/his parents/GIW agents, doesn't matter. What matters is this time the GIW got a firm hold on him afterwards. Shipped away and experimented on and all that jazz.
And then, either Jazz comes clean to her parents, and the Dr Fentons goes undercover at GIW to get Danny out. Or she didn't, and instead the Dr Fentons got an invite to experiment on GIW's prized specimen and get to find out the hard way.
Either way, the Fentons was taken to where the specimen is currently being worked on (i.e. spread open like a frog), and made excuses to get the GIW scientists and agents out. Then painstakingly, lovingly, with hands that was cursedly steady, they started sewing their son back together.
The thing, the absolutely worst thing is, they still have to be clinical, professional, detached about it. No shakey hands or blurry eyes, those could get in the way of them saving the live of their son oh god the ghost boy is their boy oh god-
Even when Maddie is questioning her whole career, her livelong believe; even when Jack is rethinking every threat and every shot they take at Phantom; they're still good at focusing at their job. Like it's all they are ever good at.
And then, to make everything ten times worse, Danny comes to. Blinked open his bleary eyes and looked at Jack and Maddie, at their white coats, and feels their hands moving in his- in his everything... and Danny absolutely loses it.
Because that scene right there? Is exactly Danny Fenton's worst nightmare.

“jack! mail’s here,” luke called, slamming a stack of envelopes on the coffee table.
“thanks, rusty.”
“let’s see if there’s anything good.”
he started flipping through the pile. bill. bill. card from mom and dad. card from nico. card from fitzgerald. card from quinn. card from cole. card from trevor. card from keefe. junk mail about gutter cleaning.
“hey, this one’s from y/n.”
“gimme that.” jack snatched the envelope from luke, his eyes wide. he tore open the envelope, revealing a cute little christmas card, similar to the one from last year. the one he was on. he stared at the cardstock, with y/n’s smiling face and her stupid boyfriend. the back was just word after word about how her life was happy and perfect and her job was great and her house was grand and her boyfriend was specimen of a man.
the envelope was addressed to luke.
jack ripped the card in half, then in half again, and again, and again. “stupid y/n.”
────୨ৎ────
I don't want to hear about your new job now
“i just need to finish my business certification, then as soon as i get the money, i’m gonna open the flower shop.”
“gonna make the arrangements for our wedding?”
“of course, jacky,” she said, kissing his cheek. she slid onto his lap and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
I don't want to hear about your new boyfriend
“jack, it’s so beautiful.”
“of course, love. i wanted you to have the best ring.”
“i love you.”
“i love you too, mrs hughes.”
I don't want to hear about it all working out for you
“five more minutes.”
“babe, you have to go to morning skate.”
“but you’re so warm.”
she rolled over so she faced him. he pressed his lips to the tip of her nose. “you’re such a goof.”
No, I don't want to hear it now
jack hughes stuns with girlfriend at devil’s charity gala
devils forward spotted with girlfriend outside bar
jack hughes speaks: 4 nations face off, road to the cup, and his elusive lover
────୨ৎ────
I don't want to hear about your swinging new place
I don't want to hear how everyone thinks it's great
“we should get a house soon.”
“what’s wrong with the apartment?”
“we’re getting married, silly!” she booped his nose. “your mom’s gonna want grandbabies.”
I just want to sit in our apartment and hate you
jack sat on the couch, his head in his hands. y/n had been gone for a week now. he didn’t know how to tell his parents, how to ask luke to let him back in the apartment.
she was gone.
Yes, I will be hating you for Christmas
“you’re never around!”
“you knew that when we got together!”
“if you can't be present now, how can you be present as a dad?”
“i will try.”
“but you can’t try now?”
“i’m sorry.”
she placed her ring on the counter.
────୨ৎ────
You can have the Christmas tree
Remember when we bought it at the store down the street?
“i think that’s gonna be too tall, baby.”
“nah, it’ll work.”
“what if we get this pink one?”
“wait, that’s actually so cute.”
I don't want to think about the lights on your white skin
“thanks for bringing me here, jack. it’s beautiful.”
“you’re beautiful.”
he cupped her face and kissed her, the lights shining onto them. “my pretty girl.”
No, I don't want to think about it
“god, i love you so much.”
“i love you more.”
────୨ৎ────
I don't want to think about last year at your dad's
“jack, i just want to say, since y/n’s in the kitchen, i think you’re the best boyfriend she’s ever had.”
“about that…”
“what’s up, son?”
jack wiped away a tear as he opened the velvet box. “think she’ll like it?”
he was immediately engulfed in a bear hug by her dad. “you’re a good kid, jack.”
────୨ৎ────
I don't want to think about my face in your soft hair
I will be hating you for Christmas
as soon as jack opened the door and stepped inside, y/n was in his arms.
“missed you so much.”
“i missed you too, baby.”
“hate it when you leave.”
“aw, did my sweet girl miss me?”“your fiancé missed you quite a lot.”
────୨ৎ────
I must be losing my mind
“is there a y/n cloning facility nearby?” luke asked.
“no?” jack answered.
“then how come every girl you bring in looks like her?”
“that is not true.”
“last monday made a convincing twin.”
There's gotta be a better way to deal with the pain
“luke, i’m gonna hurt you if you keep talking.”
“dude, go to therapy or something.”
“i don’t need therapy.”
“right, because hooking up with girls who look like your ex is cheaper and easier.”
“i’m gonna get you scratched.”
“nico only listens to people of sound mind.”
There's gotta be a better way to deal with the hate
“you don’t even know what that means!”
“who here went to college?”
jack picked up the nearest object, a plastic cup, and threw it at luke, who ducked. the cup made a slight dent in the wall.
“now look what you did!”
“no, luke, it’s your fault. you poked the sleeping bear!”
“bears mate for life, jack.”
Wish that I could find some way to make you go away
“you’re on the devils, right?” the blonde said, holding onto his arm.
“god, you’re so hot.” brunette number one said.
the other brunette placed a sloppy drunk kiss on his cheek.
“you’re single, right?”
“no, i’ve got you three.”
“oh, you’re a fox, jack.”
“well, ladies, i try.”
Wish that I could have a drink and make you fade
he couldn’t even count the number of drinks he’d had or the number of girls on his arm. tonight, he was not jack hughes, y/n’s miserable ex. he was jack hughes, first overall pick, new jersey devils star forward and alternate captain. he was a hotshot, the big ticket item, the best looking guy at the club.
except with drink after drink, all he could think was how y/n was at her stupid apartment in the arms of her stupid boyfriend and not a single girl here tonight was her.
I wish that I could have myself a drink and make you fade
so he slammed another shot down. the girls cheered. another shot. another glass. another bar. another club. another bottle. another taxi. another shot.
“ladies,” he began, his speech so slurred and impaired, “tonight, we dance.”
I wish that I could have a drink and make you go away
“let’s go back to my place.”
────୨ৎ────
Wish that I could make you go away
five injured in hockey player’s car crash
jack hughes’ mugshot: click here!
devil’s forward jack hughes dui
jack hughes involved in collision - 6 girls in car
I will be hating you for Christmas
“hughes, those are all from different occasions!”
“i’m aware.”
“what the hell were you thinking?”
“i wasn’t, sir.”
“clearly! jack, if you keep this up, i will not hesitate to scratch you!”
Yeah I will be hating you for Christmas
“like i care!”
“you should.”
“nothing matters!”
────୨ৎ────
he got an envelope from his desk and scribbled her new address on the back. the stamp was placed in the corner with extreme precision. the shredded remains of the card were placed inside, like flowers in a vase, like a body in a coffin. then, a note reading
Thanks for the Christmas card

Desperate Pleas
This idea is, of course, based on Jack and Maddie finding out Danny is Phantom and not taking it well. They are so distraught though, and can't make the ghost talk and tell them where their baby is. He has his face. They can't bear to do anything to the ghost, so they turn to the GIW. They had partnered with them before, and they helped equip them with all their weapons, so it was only logical they hand over the...specimen.
Of course, the GIW experiments on him and gives a token try at making him admit to doing something to Daniel Fenton. Ellie finds out about Danny being captured and is planning to free him along with Jazz, Sam, and Tucker. Danny didn't know that all of them had prepared for a reveal gone wrong and made go bags.
But with not only Jack and Maddie being against him but also with Jazz, Tucker, and Sam being under suspicion of working with Phantom, it's up to Ellie to get things done. It's her turn to look out for her bro. So they enact their most desperate plan.
Plan W.
The rescue happens with thankfully nobody else getting captured but also with roaring success on all fronts. Tucker was able to scramble and destroy the GIW and the Fenton's data from the comfort of his home and his parents thinking he was playing Doom. Sam was able to help break into the base with Bubbe Ida being an alibi. Jazz was able to get the conjoined go-bags out by the town's welcome sign with the excuse of going on a college touring trip with her friends. (It was true it's just that she left the house earlier than planned and had waited on seeing Danny safe before leaving.)
They all needed to have alibis because of being under suspicion, and the only one who didn't was Ellie. They had to pretend to buy the excuse that Danny was visiting his Uncle Vlad that the Fenton's gave them (Jazz had already decided she would be changing her name when she left for college. They weren't her parents anymore. She already came up with telling them the wrong college from whichever she picked.) Thankfully or not, Vlad had no idea about Danny but Maddie had asked him to cover with Jazz if she called, she told Vlad they were working on a surprise with Danny and didn't want Jazz to find out. Of course, he had been delighted to comply. (Anything for his Maddie.)
Everything had gone off without a hitch...except.
Danny was very injured (Ellie couldn't make herself look at the y-incision besides when she patched him up as best she could.) but they expected that. What they hadn't expected was him to be so freaking tiny!! Seriously! He was a shrimp more than usual. Ellie made the very educated guess that he somehow got de-aged. That plus the green sticky note that had been waiting for her next to an unconscious Danny that told her he was about four years old now and basically eluded that their plan was going to work. The bonus, though, was that apparently the age change happened because of Clockwork and that Danny should be healed by the time they got to their destination. Something about time magic but Ellie wouldn't pay that any mind as long as it helped Danny.
Though she didn't really understand how him being 4 helped anything.
Anyway, besides that small hitch, the plan was going smoothly. They just had to meet Jazz at the sign and go from there. The flight was relatively short.
"Ellie? I wasn't expecting you for a while. Did everything go okay? Where's Danny?" Jazz, of course, was worried when she didn't immediately see her 16 year old brother.
"Sooooo...funny thing. I know we were prepared for him to be...affected by his time in the GIW labs. But uh...I don't think we planned on this affected. But don't worry! Clocky basically said this was needed, so...meet tiny Danny!" Ellie held out the very unconscious toddler so Jazz could see him from under the blanket Ellie had stolen to hide said toddler.
Jazz had been frozen in shock for a good minute before she slowly held her arms out for the toddler. Ellie easily gave her the dead weight and simply floated there awkwardly. "Oh baby brother..." Jazz croaked out as her eyes filled with tears.
"He's going to be okay." Maybe Ellie was trying to convince both of them of that.
Jazz just stood there and gently stroked Danny's hair despite it being sweaty and kinda gross. She did that for a while before an alarm went off, which Ellie guessed was for Jazz to keep track of the plan. So with a soft kiss to Danny's forehead and a small hug she handed him back to her little sister. She wiped her tears and handed over two large duffle bags. One for Ellie and one for Danny.
"I know I don't have to ask, but please...please make sure you two are safe. I don't know what I'd do...." Jazz shook her head. "Just let us know when you reach Gotham...and...and let us know if Plan W works. If it doesn't...we'll figure something out. "
Ellie choked back her own tears and nodded, not trusting her voice. She handed danny bag to Jazz briefly so she could cross the duffle bags on either side of her and took Danny back before Jazz decided to keep him and do who knew what. "I'll be in touch. I promise."
With that, Ellie took off. She couldn't open portals, and she couldn't exactly ask for help in the Zone since, by now, the portals to it should be destroyed. Yeah, even Vald's. All part of good ol' Plan W.
So she flew and flew as fast as she could with as few stops as she could allow before she reached her destination.
So that's how she found herself in front of the whole Wayne family who were all at the Manor conveniently for family dinner, with a laptop open to the PowerPoint that Team Phantom made together about why Bruce Wayne should adopt both Ellie and Danny. Well mainly Danny but like hell was Ellie going to leave him alone.
She had found out that Bruce Wayne was Batman and only told Team Phantom because it could be useful to their Save Danny's Behind Plans. Turns out it was useful.
Hopefully, Mr. Wayne agreed. The PowerPoint was pretty solid, so Ellie had faith. But she would definitely love some feedback from the gobsmacked family, please.

DP X DC PROMPT #29
(#) = Notes at the end of post
The Nasty Burger Explosion still happens, and Danny is left without his friends, family, and the only teacher who ever tried to help and encourage him in school. He manages to skirt around Vlad's custody by discovering a cousin of his Dad's he'd never heard about (1). He reached out to her, crying and begging for her to take him in. To not let Vlad anywhere near him.
Needless to say, after hearing a desperate teenager call her in tears and discover that besides Danny, her cousin Jack and his family had recently died in a horrible "accident," Lois nearly upends everything to go and get Danny from a middle of nowhere town in Illinois. After talking with Clark, of course. She didn't get one word in, however, cause he heard the entire phone call from the other room, though unintentionally.
After arranging for Mama Kent to watch over a still young Jon, they drove as fast as possible to meet this boy that already had their hearts in an iron grasp. When they first lay eyes on him, they immediately want to comfort him. His black hair is a tangled mess, his eyes bloodshot and red from crying. He sits in the corner of the school secretary's office, curled up in the small seat with an overstuffed backpack clutched tightly in a trembling, white-knuckled grip. A girl with dark skin and her hair held back by a headband sits with him, but she gets up and walks over as soon as she sees them enter the office. Danny doesn't seem to notice or even look up from where he's staring at the floor tiles.
"He's been hiding here for the last few days since he called you. He hasn't gone home once except to pack the bag he has with him." The girl explains. She holds out her hand to Lois for a handshake. "Valerie. You could say I'm a... friend of his (2). I'm assuming you're the cousin?"
Lois nods solemnly. "How's he been? He wouldn't tell me why he wouldn't go with his parent's first choice of custody. I've been worried."
Valerie grimaced and looked back at Danny before looking her directly in the eyes. "I can't say much without revealing anything i shouldn't. Let's just say Vlad has an unhealthy obsession with Danny, and it's unsafe to be around him. If he trusts you, he'll be the one to tell you the rest."
Clark and Lois share a look before they both nodded.
Valerie sees their acceptance and relaxes. She'd actually been tense the entire time she'd been talking with them.
"Well, with that said, I'll be going now." She rubbed the back of her neck and looked down with a sad expression. She looked back up at Lois with a deep sigh, and only then did Lois realize that Valerie looked to have been crying recently too. Looking between both adults, she made a quiet request. "Take care of him, will you?"
This time Clark is the one who finally speaks up. "You have our word he'll be safe and cared for."
Valerie's shoulders slump with a shuttering sigh of relief. "Thank you."
Once she left, Clark and Lois slowly approached Danny and sat to either side of him. Only then did he finally look up from the tiles and see them. His eyes ghosted over Lois but immediately locked onto Clark. He stared up at him, his eyes glassy with unshed tears.
Clark shrunk his broad form down a little, concerned his build might be intimidating for the young man. "Hi there, bud." He said in a soft tone. "I'm Clark and this is Lois. We're here to pick you up."
When introductions didn't seem to get a reaction from the teen, Clark's brow furrowed further. "Something wrong?"
Danny finally blinked and quickly ducked his head back down to look at the floor. "N-No." He croaked. "Sorry. For a moment there, I thought you were-" He choked on his words and seemed to have difficulty swallowing. He was shaking, his face hidden against his knees with one of his arms braced over his head to hide even further.
When he finally managed to finish his sentence, Clark's heart shattered completely.
"I th-thought you were my dad."
Clark looked at Lois with lost, watery eyes only to see she was in the same exact predicament. She couldn't stand seeing Danny so heartbroken any longer and leaned over to wrap him in a hug, Clark soon following. After a while of shushing and murmuring words of comfort, Lois gently spoke up.
"Why don't we get your things in the car and we can get on the road."
Extracting himself from their warm hold, Danny took a deep, shuttering breath before nodding.
"Okay."
"Is there anything else we need to get from the house? You have everything?"
Gripping his bag tightly to his chest, he nodded again. (3)
"Yeah. I do."
Side Note:
(1) He found out through Tucker. He'd searched through Danny's family tree for any living relatives in case Vlad ever actually managed to kill Jack or something else happened to both his parents. He just never imagined it would be for this reason specifically.
(2) Yes, she knows Danny is Phantom now. She did not know before. She found out after she tried to pin the blame for Danny's friends and family on Phantom while Danny was in earshot, and he basically blew up at her and broke down. She's horrified and feels terrible, so don't be too hard on her. The confrontation also happened on school grounds with a bunch of other kids present, so a good majority of the student body knows now, too. If not from seeing it first hand, then by word of mouth. They're keeping it hush hush so nobody with bad intentions towards ghosts comes looking for Danny. Valerie will be the main defense against any ghosts that pop up, as well as a few other kids she trained.
(3) Before he left, Danny did disable and completely dismantle the ghost portal and translated all his parent's research into a code him, Sam, and Tucker came up with before destroying the originals as well as the entire lab itself. Natural ghost portals can still pop up in Amity Park tho, since the ghost portal kinda oversaturated the town with ectoplasm. Valerie and the kids she trained are just a precaution.
Haven't come up with a title for this one yet. I'll add it later when it pops into my head though.
Funny enough, this actually isn't what I planned to write for this prompt. It did involve Danny getting adopted into the Kent family, but there was going to be something entirely different happening. Apparently, the characters had other plans. Oh well, I'll save it for the next one, I guess. It might be a second part of this, actually. We'll see!
Enjoy the angst & hurt/comfort tho!

Reveal gone wrong ends with Vlad realizing how toxic his obsession was. He cuts out contact with jack and Maddie. Because if they denied there own flesh and blood so much. There is no way maddie would except him.
She couldn’t even accept Danny as a halfa.
Then takes in Danny and Jazz. He does it all legally makes it in the news. Danny and jazz aren’t exactly pleased at first. Vlad has a lot to me up for
Ellie eventually joins at the he pays her pack pay in child supports and fully realizes he was a fruitloop.
When vlad gets an invite to a Wayne gala. All three of his new wards attend. Needless to say it’s an gala no one will ever forget.
Fist fights. Chandeliers breaking. Jazz causing breakdowns. Who let Tim and Danny discuss inventions?!? Vlad will never recover.
