The industry is horrible and awful, low pay, long hours, no real chance of advancing.
Whenever people touring the station or new interns ask me for advice, I always tell them to change careers lol
#ask#plus; i'm a producer for a statewide channel sure; but it's nothing huge or glam#like;; i've gotten to work with celebrities but that's more luck than normal operations#and i've said 'i don't hate what i'm doing i hate where i do it' so much for so long that i don't even believe it anymore#i would only wish a career in television on people i hate#but i do try to be even minded as best i can; like i'm acutely aware i work in probably one of the most toxic environments in the state#i've been sexually harassed; grabbed; locked in a room and screamed at by a psycho freelance producer#been injured and seen graphic injuries that happened because of incompetence; seen theft and assault#and had the men at work get aggressive with me because i'm the youngest and shortest and only woman#told by management i was only given opportunities because i'm a woman and it looks better for their image if they pretend to put me up fron#had my bosses retaliate against me for refusing to do illegal things for them#to the point where i was below the poverty line for several months because of it#told by hr that i have no right to complain about anything because even though i run their biggest show i'm just a contractor#had my work stolen and other people's names put on it so those people get the emmys that my work has earned#and lied to about pay rates so I wouldn't know I'm paid less than the men who have fewer responsibilities and less experience than i do#and now they're waging a war against LGBT employees by promoting ultra-right viewpoints and banning mentions of pride#so no i really don't want to help bring anyone into this environment#every day driving in and driving home i just think about driving my car into a concrete wall#i'm looking for a new job i promise

whoever stole my account information in order to spend $127 on [checks notes] roku purchases, i hope you have incurable hangnails on every finger and toe for the rest of your shitty life.
#does that seem disproportionate?#i promise it's not#because my former manager decided that me being in australia dealing with my dad's death#and me attempting to contact said manager about a dozen times and getting no response#and then me opening multiple HR tickets and getting NO RESPONSE#equates to me ''abandoning my position''#so i currently have no income and only $43 to my name since someone decided my broke ass was a good candidate for theft#plus because of all the fraudulent charges i had to lock my account#which had the utterly ridiculous and undisclosed effect of not only blocking charges to my account but CREDITS#which means that when i decided to make a sensible mental health decision#and withdrew from the class i was taking this quarter so that i could give myself time to grieve#with the intention of enrolling in the same class next quarter instead#the tuition refund got blocked#and is now just like. hanging in no mans land.#so i can't enroll in the class for next quarter yet because i can't access the money i intended to use for it#and the classes only have space for 15 students#and it's going to take 7-10 days for the bank to issue my new card and for my account to be functional#so now i've got a new thing to be stressed about#when i was specifically trying to give myself a break from stress#so yeah i hope the person who stole from me has a shit day forever#hope they get little bits of egg shell in everything they eat#and that they can always faintly smell dog poop as if they stepped in it but can never find the source#cass says things

Once you get a couple of real grown up jobs you're supposed to take all the high school non job shit off your resume and I have but sometimes it's frustrating because damn. i was skill grinding in high school.

local woman gets two consecutive weeks off work, immediately starts experiencing some type of Ailment
#literally#yesterday all day at work i was busy but manageable. just started feeling the tiredness set in near the end of the work day tbh#biked home feeling perfectly fine. got in and pretty much instantly i got 1. the worst headache 2. blurry spots in my vision?#i was like lemme relax by watching a movie but then was like huh. entire spots are missing when i try to look.#popped a big painfkiller and drank some tea in case it was dehydration or smth and by the end of the night it had improved but i still#went to bed early just listening to a YT vid letting my eyes rest and falling asleep p quickly even if i did wake up a few times in between#this mornign i was fine. but after a few hrs it's starting to settle in again and idk what to do abt it. i was gonna catch up on bridgerton#then mb get some reading done but like i need my eyes fr that... why is my vision still fucky.does ayone know what to do about it?#mb it's a delayed stress response frm the week ive had? is it a nutritional thing? baby's first weirdass migraine but it comes and goes???#i would do further research trying to read up on whta the hell i got but 1. reading extremely difficult feat and 2. internet said eye tumor#so im like oh fuck OFF#any and aall advice welcome though rip thanks#*edt lying down wi one episode of iwtv later and vision has +- returned to normal. so additional screentime....good???? make it make sense

i think the thing about work rn is that i'm more frustrated that i can't understand the logic behind my DMs decisions more than i am about the actual situation
in no way does it make sense that it takes over two months to promote someone already with the company. it's been three weeks since we got approval from our regional manager and he STILL hasn't gotten his promotion
literally what the hell
#like how many times can i follow up about this#when i got my first management position here#it took less than two weeks start to finish#HE ALREADY WORKS HERE#we just need HR to sign off !!!!!#we'll only have two keys in store next week--four of us total--bc one of my coworkers is going on vacation#i told my manager we'll need to reduce store hours to cover#and she was like idk we'll need permission#and now she's out for the rest of the week#thursday and my kids don't have their schedule yet#i'm so sick of ittttttttttttttttttt#nevermind the fact that she had the final say on my key being fired in june#like wouldn't you want to replace her immediately?????#we've had to close early several times bc we don't have the coverage#nevermind the fact that they reduced my headcount down to 7 people !!!!!!!!!!!!#i'm tired of feeling guilty about this fr#it's not my fault and yet i have to take responsibility for it#i need my old DM back T-T#okay back to bg3....

like, it’s not final til it’s finalized and i’m in the chair getting it done lbr, but i just heard back from one of the artists i put an inquiry in for my sleeve and she’s interested! :’) genuinely so excited to get it started, even if it’s quite a few months off.
#fourth inquiry is the charm i guess!#i still haven't even heard back from the other 3#2 just ghosted after the initial response and closed up books#one is pretty notoriously bad at getting back to people it took 10 months for her to even respond for the stomach tat#in all honesty if it all goes smoothly i might ask this artist if she'd like to do the matching left sleeve down the road :')#i've been wanting sleeve tattoos for SOOOO long like lifelong goal for me#it's finally happening!!#my stuff#wish me luck for the 5 hr sessions hope they're super manageable for me#even if they're not i'll tough it out regardless but still wish me the luck

i feel like im gonna wind up sayin yes to being a manager but atm im still like. So hesitant. but i know myself and i probably will eventually wind up saying yes
#because i love saying yes to everything and taking on more responsibility and giving myself even less time to be a person outside of#school and work obligations#someone offers me a role or a promotion and i just say yes no matter what#on my hands and knees. i am. so busy. all the time#brot posts#well actually lets see how much more im gonna get paid#if its only $16/hr im gonna pass LMFAO#i think it will probably be $17 but idk.#i mean i havent been formally approached yet its just my two closing managers who are trying to scope me out#but the more i think about it there really isnt anyone else they can promote to manager without just. hiring someone directly into the role#bc im one of the employees whos been here the longest at this point 😭#and the second one below me is still in high school so shes out of the question#one above me already got promtoed to framing manager#since our framing manager was one of the ones who left recently#and the second one above me is like. a grandma and im pretty sure shes just here for some extra income#like shes solely a morning cashier and thats it#so its really just… Me … unless they hire someone directly into it.#i mean we have other employees other than the 4 including me i just listed but they are literally all just seasonal hires#hopefully we can retain a few but yknow for now theyre literally just seasonal

#ive had 24 hrs of horribleness#started my period which caused my chronic pain to flare like crazy#last time i did this i threw up from the pain and complained about inappropriate pain responses for a month#the first time i did this i passed out in my parents' kitchen trying to get to pain meds#spent most of the night trying (failing) to sleep or trying (failing) to managed the pain#finally got the pain under control around noon#had to do a dish shift at work which i normally like doing#pain? managed. ribs? braced. preventative measures? taken. i am ready to wash dishes.#except i definitely wasnt and had to leave in the middle of my shift because my entire left side was shot through with agony#still cant lift my phone with my left side much less anything heavier#went home. couldbt get my shirt off. have already had several minor breakdowns because of pain. now in genuine distress.#cant get my FUCKING shirt off. took a call to my gran and twenty fucking minutes to get my shirt off.#in a button down now so i can get in and out of it easier but oh my gods#anyway almost 24 hours sitting at pain level 6-8 mostly 8 with like three hours non consecutive sleep i am fucking exhausted

and once again my store’s directors have decided to not promote one of the two most senior workers in my area for the more chipper suck up of a new guy
this time the suck up is even less qualified and walked around the store with, i shit you not, 8 bad dragon dildo key chains on his belt until last week when he started behaving like he was a manager and oops, guess who overheard that he got the promotion but itsn’t official yet
apparently the only thing that matters to the higher ups is how hard you boot lick and not how that someone’s worked there for 3 years and knows the ins and outs of how the area functions
so now i can add “bad dragon is my personality” to the list of people in my store whove gotten promoted due to kissing massive amounts of ass
the other one? “holocaust apologist” (said and i quote “well, sometimes you gotta crack a few eggs” in regards to the topic and when i asked him to elaborate on what exactly he meant by that, i was told by a manager who no longer works here to back off and leave it cause i was getting heated, frankly i dont think i was heated enough)
