The property management company people came by the other day to deliver us an entrance notice because the owner wanted to come in to fix our odd little shower leak.
I knew he was coming because we'd been talking, so no problem.
But I also knew FROM THE OWNER that the manager for our specific property had apparently left the company last week. Which would have been nice to know FROM THE COMPANY. The manager herself did not mention it when she dropped off the previous inspection notice (which was within two weeks of her leaving the company), and the guy who came by with the new person ALSO didn't say anything about the previous person leaving.
But he DID joke that maybe Bean could bite the owner just a little.
Like, dude. I literally heard the owner on the phone with your office at nine o'clock in the morning about a repair he was making, and I literally did NOT get an email from your office about it until the next day. If the owner's up your ass, that's a you problem. He is prompt, efficient, and polite to us. Y'all left the lockbox on the upstairs door for the entire year the younglings have been there.
We're staying through at least next year for savings reasons, but also, the owner has asked us to CC him on every maintenance email we send the company. He didn't say "Because they don't communicate with me," but I didn't even get acknowledgement of the shower wall issue from the management company at ALL. So, I know who I'm backing in a fight.
ADDITION: Each time the owner has told us we're getting a little off our rent because repairs have taken multiple days, we've had to remind the management company they need to cut our rent. And it's never, "Oh, we were not told." It has been, "Oh, right. That." NOT a great look.
