Ayurvedic Approach to Heart Problems in New Friends Colony
Introduction: Heart problems have become increasingly prevalent in today's fast-paced and stressful world. While modern medicine offers effective treatments, there is a growing interest in alternative therapies that aim to promote holistic well-being. Shuddhi Ayurveda Panchkarma NDMC, CAPF DDA, DJB, Approved Clinic in New Friends Colony, an ancient Indian system of medicine, offers a unique approach to the treatment and prevention of heart problems. With its emphasis on balancing mind, body, and spirit, Ayurveda provides a comprehensive framework for managing heart health. In this article, we will explore the principles of Ayurveda and its potential benefits in treating heart problems.
Understanding Ayurveda: Ayurveda, which translates to "science of life," is a holistic healing system originating from India. According to Ayurvedic philosophy, the body is composed of three fundamental energies or doshas: Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (earth and water). A balance among these doshas is essential for overall health, including heart health.
The Ayurvedic Approach to Heart Problems:
Diet and Nutrition: In Ayurveda, diet plays a crucial role in maintaining heart health. Foods that are considered beneficial for the heart include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats like ghee and olive oil. Ayurvedic practitioners also recommend incorporating specific herbs and spices known for their heart-protective properties, such as turmeric, garlic, ginger, and cinnamon.
Lifestyle Modifications: Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of lifestyle modifications to support heart health. Regular exercise, adequate sleep, stress management techniques (such as meditation and yoga), and avoiding excessive alcohol and tobacco are essential components of an Ayurvedic lifestyle. These practices promote overall well-being and help maintain a healthy heart.
Herbal Remedies: Ayurvedic medicine relies heavily on herbal remedies to treat various health conditions, including heart problems. Several herbs are known for their cardiovascular benefits, such as Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna), Hawthorn (Crataegus), and Guggulu (Commiphora mukul). These herbs are believed to strengthen the heart muscle, improve circulation, and support healthy blood pressure levels.
Panchakarma Therapy: Panchakarma is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy aimed at detoxification and rejuvenation of the body. It involves a series of procedures, including massage, herbal steam baths, and enemas, to eliminate toxins and restore balance. Panchakarma therapy may be recommended by Ayurvedic practitioners to cleanse the body and promote heart health.
Conclusion: Ayurveda offers a holistic approach to the treatment and prevention of heart problems, focusing on the overall well-being of an individual. By addressing imbalances in the body, mind, and spirit, Ayurvedic treatments aim to support heart health naturally. However, it is essential to note that Ayurvedic remedies should complement and not replace conventional medical care. How is burning leg treated? Which home and herbal methods are effective for treating burning feet? There are different methods to treat burning feet, but depending on the cause of burning feet, the treatment methods are also different. In the following, we have explained some simple and home methods to treat burning feet.
Why do we get burning feet?
The burning sensation in the soles of the feet may be due to various diseases. First, you need to find the root cause of this problem in order to get the right treatment. Some of the causes of burning feet, such as skin fungus in "athletes' foot disease" or tight shoes, can be easily fixed.
Treatment methods for burning feet
The treatment of burning feet depends on the main cause of burning feet. If you constantly feel burning and hot in your legs, it is suggested to see a doctor to diagnose and determine the cause. Your doctor may recommend the following to solve your problem: Taking drugs for fungal infections in athlete's foot disease; wearing more comfortable shoes; B vitamin supplements; Thyroid supplements. If diabetes is the cause, you will need to change your diet or take medication. Your doctor may prescribe medications to help with nerve pain. For severe nerve pain, nerve stimulation can help, including: electrical nerve stimulation; magnetic; laser therapy; light therapy Research on the methods of treating burning feet continues. Alternative therapies such as acupuncture may help some people.
Home treatment for burning feet
As we said, it is very important to see a doctor to treat burning feet, but there are also methods that you can use temporarily to reduce the pain of burning feet. These methods include: Put your feet in cold water or an ice bath for a short time. Of course, this action is not recommended for patients with erythromelalgia (a disease in which most of the organs suffer from redness, pain and burning). Soak your feet in Epsom salts or apple juice solution. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor before trying this method. Take a turmeric supplement. Curcumin in turmeric relieves nerve pain. Curcumin has protective anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial effects. Use a topical cream containing lidocaine or capsaicin. A homemade ginger or turmeric solution may also be helpful for pain relief. Massage your feet to improve blood circulation. 5 herbal remedies for burning feet It is better to have the burning sensation of the soles of the feet checked by a doctor first, but if you do not have access to a doctor, you can use the following herbs for the temporary treatment of burning soles of the feet. - Chamomile essential oil Chamomile essential oil has a relaxing and soothing effect, its compounds help to improve blood circulation and control inflammation. instructions: Mix 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of chamomile essential oil with 1 teaspoon of olive oil (5 grams) and massage your feet with it for 5 to 10 minutes and repeat twice a day if necessary. - White hawthorn White hawthorn is a traditional remedy to reduce burning and redness of the feet and improve blood circulation. instructions: Pour 1 tablespoon of white hawthorn leaves in a glass of boiling water, cover it and let it brew for 10 minutes, then strain and drink 2 to 3 times a day. Made by Self is the kind of place where you don’t have to worry about clinical white spaces or products that require a chemistry degree to understand – this Hawthorn salon blends eastern and western techniques to create unique facials that will leave you feeling rejuvenated on the inside as well as out. They offer a stimulating Gua Sha treatment that works to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation, or buccal massages that tone and sculpt your face.
The cult ’Camera Ready’ facial is their most popular choice, featuring deep cleaning exfoliation followed by a customised serum infusion. They also offer a range of mini and deluxe facials, and they’re all priced at less than $200.
Sense of Self
Located behind a graffiti-splattered door in Collingwood, Sense of Self is a day spa and bathhouse inspired by bathhouses around the world. Their Remedy Facials are tailored to your skin type, while their Rituals involve full body massage and meditative soundscapes. They also offer a range of specialised treatments that target specific skin concerns, including rosacea, acne and sensitive skin.

Baynton Boys + Chronic Pain Comfort
I’m having a bad chronic pain flare up so here’s how I think the boys would handle it. This is super specific to chronic hip pain and is mega self indulgent so I’ll probably be the only one to read this, but that’s okay!!
Characters: Thomas Thorne, Sam Pinkett, William Agar, John of Temple Meads (Yonderland), Chris Pitt-Goddard, Ariel Conroy, Jamie Winton, and a bonus wild card
Thomas Thorne
He isn’t be able to do much as a ghost but he absolutely lays on my bed with me, a respectful distance away, and keeps me company. He recites poetry and comforts me by describing just how he’d help me if he was able. A lot of the time though, he quietly sits with me just so I won’t be alone in my pain. He knows what it’s like to suffer in solitude and won’t let me experience that for even a second. Hip pain is nothing compared to dying of a musket wound, but you wouldn’t be able to tell that from the way he hangs around. His quiet presence is very soothing.
Sam Pinkett
Sam is great in a flare up but he really shines in prevention and daily pain management. Sometimes he’ll find me sleeping on the couch and instead of waking me, he’ll slide a throw pillow between my knees to relieve uneven pressure on my pelvis. When we cuddle, he makes sure one of his legs is between my knees or he’ll hook my leg around his hip. He’s essentially hyper aware of my knees and keeping them parallel to my hips at all times. He is always ready to intervene to make me more comfortable in the long run.
But all of this preventative work can’t keep the flare ups away entirely. When they eventually happen, he’s very attentive but not overbearing. Absolute king of snacks. Always willing to pop out and grab me a bag of Haribo! He does the majority of the cooking anyway but he misses me keeping him company in the kitchen. He keeps the meals simple and comforting for the benefit of both of us.
William Agar
He first witnessed a flare up when we were courting and I had to cancel an outing suddenly. At first, he took this as a rejection but was quickly reassured that it was my mobility that was waning and not my affection for him. He called out of work to ‘check on a patient’ and sat in a chair next to my bed to keep me company while still remaining proper. I spent a great deal of time admiring the flowers he brought me: a small bouquet of mint, passionflower, and hawthorn (denoting consolation for pain and hope for recovery in Victorian flower language). The white and purple blooms absolutely brightened my day! We set ourselves to quietly reading until he scoffed at my choice of Dickens. I rebuffed by attacking his phrenology text which led to a debate on the validity of the science (happy to say I eventually won him over).
John of Temple Meads (nickname Meads)
This courteous Gallant is amazing at massaging aches muscles! He buys odd Yonderland remedies and oils to rub into my hip and back to ease the pain. My favorite oil being one that alternates between heating and cooling multiple times in one application. It makes Meads’ hands feel strange for an hour or two after, but he doesn’t mind. He knows exactly how much pressure to apply with his deft fingers to relax the muscles without causing me too much pain.
If I need to get out of bed, he pulls me to his side and places his hand on my good hip. He doesn’t complain about how slowly I need to move even though he’s supporting almost all of my weight. What is most astonishing is that even after seeing me in this broken, dependent state, it doesn’t change the way he looks at me. The same admiration radiates warmth in his eyes, reminding me that he’s not going anywhere.
Chris
Chris is great with encouraging me to do my exercises and stretches mid-flare up. He knows how much I hate doing them on pain-free days, let alone bad days. If I struggle with completing a set, he’s always cheering me on with a ‘c’mon, just a few more!’ or doing the exercises right alongside, being sure to go the same pace as me. He enjoys helping with the stretches much more as they give a lot of opportunities for saucy jokes. If I let out a moan of pain or relief, he’ll say something like “oh I’ve heard that one before” with a cheeky wink. One stretch involves me on my back with my leg over his shoulder which lends itself nicely to a myriad of lewd quips. He uses every laugh he gets from me to push the stretch just a bit more. After all the exercises and stretches, he’s more than willing to microwave some popcorn and settle down for a good binge watch.
Ariel
Ariel is good with the muscle roller (essentially a bumpy rolling pin sent from hell). We both hate it since it causes me so much pain but know it has to be done for eventual relief. I lay on my side with my back to him and he starts working the knots out of my tense muscles. He thinks that since I can’t see him, I don’t know that he’s wincing along with me, but I do. He’s much sweeter than he’s given credit for. He holds me after, spooning me so I don’t have to move, while tracing soothing patterns on my side and pressing kisses to my shoulder and neck. This is the one treatment that can make me cry so he’ll busy himself with smoothing away the occasional tears as well.
Jamie
Jamie’s is MVP of flare-ups! Absolute champion! He’s armed with pain meds, ice packs, and heating pads. He has two timers constantly on the go, one for when I can take some more pain meds and another for when to alternate from ice to heat. He makes sure I have plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and is perfectly happy to lay beside me in bed all day. Not being at work stresses him out but he has his work laptop on his nightstand so he can do as much work as possible while I nap. It ends up falling to the wayside and he naps along with me, not realizing how much he needed a day off as well.
He doesn’t want to leave my side and he knows my favorite restaurant doesn’t deliver, so he sends Dave to pick up dinner. When it arrives, he puts on my favorite musical to watch while we eat and doesn’t complain about it at all despite his dislike for the genre.
Bonus because it made me laugh, Nanny La Roo
Our girl absolutely tries to suckle me, claiming that her milk will cure all that ails me. After I repeatedly and adamantly decline her offer, she starts piling blankets around me to keep me comfy. All of them are worn and soft after years and years of providing comfort. They smell old in a way that soothes the soul, like your childhood blankie or favorite stuffed animal. Once she’s satisfied with my makeshift blanket nest, she takes to brushing and petting my hair. She braids it into a beautiful plait and occasionally tuts that I should reconsider because her milk has unmatched healing properties.

How to Manage Muscle Pain? 6 Alternative Treatments to Consider
Muscle pain is outright annoying. It, unfortunately, hampers your daily life, or in other words, prevents you from performing household as well as workplace chores. The top practitioners specified few causes of muscle pain, which range from stress and anaemia to dehydration and lack of sleep. Do you wish to recover soon? If yes, continue reading.
Alternative therapy could be defined as an intervention used instead of conventional medicine. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines such as acupuncture, myotherapy, remedial massage, chiropractic, biofeedback, etc., all of which can cure muscle pain. For details, please check out the below-mentioned pointers. 1. Remedial Massage The professionals carrying out remedial massage Camberwell and in other noted locations said it could provide utmost relief from muscle pain. Remedial massage stimulates blood supply, repairs damaged tissues, and make joints as mobile as possible. It aims at stabilising the tone, length, and tension of muscles, which in turn heals injuries. To allow the post-massage feeling last, stay away from stressful situations. 2. Acupuncture One of the primary benefits of acupuncture is that it can cure muscle pain. The ancient Chinese medical practitioners believed that illness occurs when there is an imbalance of energy inside the body. Acupuncture stimulates these energy meridians by penetrating needles through on specific points of the point. It also increases endorphin production, a chemical that blocks pain. 3. Biofeedback During biofeedback, you are connected to varied electrical sensors, which provide information about your body. The idea behind this procedure is utilising the power of the mind to know what is going on other parts of the body. The feedback received lets you make subtle changes. For instance, it relaxes certain muscular tissues and reduces pain to a great extent. 4. Herbal Remedies It has been quite challenging to understand the effectiveness of herbs for muscle pain. Chamomile is perhaps the most popular drug used since time immemorial to cure muscular spasms. You can massage chamomile oil on the affected area for a couple of minutes every day. Remember certain herbs interact with drugs you have been consuming and harm your health. 5. Chiropractic Chiropractic is perhaps the most popular non-surgical treatment for muscle pain. A chiropractor makes sure one’s body is functioning in the best possible way by using spinal manipulations. This relieves pain in the muscles and joints. Studies suggested that chiropractic may also be helpful for neck pain, headache, whiplash, etc. 6. Myotherapy A renowned myotherapist Hawthorn said the word ‘myotherapy translates to ‘muscle therapy’. It involves a wide range of techniques applied to the softer tissues. Myotherapy corrects myofascial pain, which is basically any pain that originated in the musculoskeletal system. Post the session, drink enough water, sleep as much as possible, and avoid indulging in strenuous physical pursuits. Alternative therapies are not benign, always. As mentioned earlier in this write-up, certain herbal preparations might interact with other medicines you have been taking and pave the way for disastrous consequences. Always consult a doctor prior to trying any kind of alternative approach.

-Disclaimer- Despite the biblical inspiration (as I am a Christian witch), I have tried to make the ritual as inclusive as possible, so that it can be used by anyone.
☼ Milk & Honey ☼
Milk and honey recalls the biblica image of a perfect land so fertile its green hills flow with honey dripping from its hives, like liquid gold in the sunlight. A spacious land covered with pink hawthorn, red cyclamen, and white rockrose. There are the flowers of its myriad wild fruits, and the warm valley air smelling of their nectar.
This ritual is therefore meant for: Peace, prosperity, success, fertility, thanksgiving.
Associations: It is a ritual linked to spring and the sun.
Colors: white, yellow, gold.
When: There is no fairer time than another to do it. Made in the hottest hours of the day, when the sun is at its peak it could be a little more powerful, but do it whenever you want or need it.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of honey (about 50g) - sweetness; representation of gold.
Half a cup of milk (about 125ml) - prosperity; success; protection; nourishment. If you don't like milk from an animal or are sensitive to dairy, you can use any other type of vegetable milk associated with your intentions (e.g. soy milk is great for job success).
Your favorite incense (if you do not have or cannot use incense, replace it with essential oil of your choice or olive oil).
A white candle on which you will engrave a symbol or seal that corresponds to your intentions.
A gold-colored candle (also yellow or white is fine) to clean the space, give more push and power.
How to cast:
After having dosed the two ingredients separately, mix them together in a container until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. If you prefer the mixture to remain denser, you can use yogurt.
When the mixture is ready, ignite the incense and pass the mixture into the smoke (if you don’t have or cannot use incense, pour three drops of essential oil of your choice or olive oil into the mixture).
Say: I make this offering to (the earth, your divinity, the universe, ancestors, etc.). As tank for the many blessing I have received and those I shall some day receive. I know mote it be.
Light the candles (if you are doing this spell for a particular reason (you want work or school success, because you need economic peace, you want to thank your divinity for something in particular etc.) you can write your intention on a sheet of paper and burn it in the candle flame. It isn’t necessary, but it can be useful to center your intentions).
Apply the compound obtained on the root and length of the hair accompanying the action with gentle massages. Continue to massage for a few minutes (the mask should be applied to dry hair before shampooing).
Leave on for about 15 minutes, covering your hair with a bathing cap or plastic bag.
While you wait, you can relax and meditate, write on your book of shadows, do other spells, sit in the sun, draw, or do your chores while listening to the music that you remember the spring / summer, the sun or your divinity etc. anything related to the sun, light or spring / summer is fine.
After the laying time, rinse the head thoroughly, taking care that all the product is removed, to avoid the appearance of unpleasant halos after drying. Then proceed to wash your hair with your usual shampoo.
When you are finished, blow out the candles and instead let the incense burn (let it consume itself).
WORNING!
If the scalp is irritated, avoid applying this hair mask by consulting a specialist doctor.
Check that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients (even if you use essential oils instead of incense).
If after applying the hair mask nourish a sense of irritation, rinse the head thoroughly and do the shampoo again.
OTHER USES: If you don't want to cast this spell / ritual as a hair mask, you can change the way you use it: you can then use it as a face / body mask or as a drink, keeping the rest of the ritual unchanged. Note: if you use it as a drink, don’t use essential oils or olive oil inside. As said before, if you don’t want or cannot use incense to purify the mixture, if you have to ingest it, use cinnamon or vanilla instead of incense.
If you use it for hair, know that:
Honey deeply moisturizes the hair, in fact it is the ideal ingredient for brittle and dry hair that needs nourishment from the roots to the ends, regaining softness and lightness even to the touch.
Honey strengthens the hair and thanks to its restorative properties it repairs the internal breakages of the hair. For this reason, the hair mask with honey and milk especially benefits hair that breaks, as it is weakened by the action of external agents such as the heat of the hair dryer and plates, the constant washing, the action of the sun.
In addition, honey restores the dull and dry hair to new shine and radiance, giving the face even more vigor.
Honey has a prolonged action over time so it is sufficient to apply this type of hair mask once a week.
If you use it as a face / body mask:
Both honey and milk possess antimicrobial and cleansing properties. These properties are enhanced when the two are taken together. Numerous cleansers are prepared using milk and honey, because the mixture gives the skin a healthy glow. One can also enjoy a milk and honey bath, by mixing them in equal quantities in the water. The combination is often used in popular spas throughout the world.
If you use it as a drink, know that:
Help the digestion
Honey has long been known as a source of prebiotics, which are nutrients that stimulate the growth and development of probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria that grow and develop in our intestines and digestive system.
Prebiotics have demonstrated a stimulatory effect on bifidobacteria, a type of probiotic that is found in milk. The carbohydrates and oligosaccharides in honey promote the healthy and proper function of these beneficial bacteria that are essential for the healthy maintenance and function of the GI tract. When the bacterial balance in the digestive tract is good, it eliminates a number of irritating conditions, including constipation, cramps, bloating, and it prevents the development of detrimental bacterial growth!
Help the resistance:
A glass of milk and honey every morning is known to improve a person’s stamina. While milk contains proteins, honey contains the necessary carbohydrates required for effective stimulus of the metabolism. Milk and honey provides a boost in strength to everyone, including children and the elderly. Animal proteins from milk are broken down by enzymes into their basic amino acids, and are then reformed to create usable proteins for humans. The excess material in this transformation is then oxidized as usable energy. Proteins are an essential part of the human diet, and honey helps to stimulate their metabolism!
Help Bone Health:
As research on honey continues, it is gradually becoming clear that honey acts as a carrier and a transport of nutrients from food throughout the body. Specifically, honey has shown itself to be integral in the body’s uptake of calcium, of which milk is a rich source. Therefore, consuming honey and milk together will not only give your body the necessary nutrient (calcium) to benefit your bone health, but also the nutrient to maximize the absorption of it into your body. Proper calcium levels can prevent conditions like osteoporosis and inflammation of the joints as we age!
Help for Insomnia:
Honey and milk have both been traditionally used as remedies for insomnia and sleeplessness. Individually, they are both effective, but the effects are strengthened when taken together. Honey is one of the rare sugary foods that causes a controlled increase in the amount of insulin being secreted, which also promotes tryptophan to be released into the brain. Tryptophan is normally converted into serotonin, which induces a feeling of relaxation. Furthermore, serotonin is commonly converted to melatonin, a well-researched sleep aid. Through that rather confusing chemical pathway, honey and milk can be used to reduce sleeplessness!
Have Anti-Aging Properties:
The combination of milk and honey impacts not only the skin, but also the rest of the body, by making it agile and youthful. People in many ancient civilizations, including the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Indians, drank milk and honey to preserve their youth. Since milk and honey can help to ensure long life, the combination was known as “the elixir of life.”
The many antioxidant properties that occur when milk and honey are combined are the scientific explanation behind the anti-aging properties, because antioxidants attack the free radicals which so drastically affect the organ systems. They are also one of the primary causes behind skin degradation, wrinkles, blotches, and general failing health of your body’s largest organ, the skin!
It owns Antibacterial Properties:
Research has shown that milk and honey have a more pronounced effect on staphylococcus bacteria than milk or honey when taken alone. It is also believed that honey, added to warm milk, cures constipation, flatulence and intestine disorders. It is also good for treating respiratory disorders such as colds and coughs.
The benefits of honey and milk on the human body are so enormous that the phrase “land of milk and honey” meaning “a place which has plenty” is commonly used. Jerusalem is referred to as the land of milk and honey in the Old Testament, so they probably enjoyed a wealth of health benefits back then!
For all those interested:
The phrase “a land flowing [or ‘that floweth’] with milk and honey” appears 20 times in our King James Bible—
Exodus 3:8, Exodus 3:17, Exodus 13:5, Exodus 33:3, Leviticus 20:24, Numbers 13:27, Numbers 14:8, Numbers 16:13, Numbers 16:14, Deuteronomy 6:3, Deuteronomy 11:9, Deuteronomy 26:9, Deuteronomy 26:15, Deuteronomy 27:3, Deuteronomy 31:20, Joshua 5:6, Jeremiah 11:5, Jeremiah 32:22, Ezekiel 20:6, and Ezekiel 20:15.

i’d love to see more exploration into snape surviving nagini’s bite and the war. him potentially losing his ability to speak, or suffering after-effects from the poison, or other physical trauma. him trying to repair all of his relationships, or alternatively leaving the magical world altogether and secluding himself, only to be found by harry or mcgonagall in search for answers. killing him could be seen as ”lazy writing” as there was so much potential with keeping him alive.
Before getting into HP I got myself into “Saint Seiya” (I don’t expect many people in HP actually know this one), particularly into its “The Lost Canvas” spin-off and well... With the number of the guys dying there I got quite accustomed to the idea that peace always come with a price and many good people will die in the process of achieving it. This is why I don’t see Severus dying (oh, don’t get me wrong - I hate it that he died) as “lazy writing” in any way, but something that gives a massage about what has to be sacrificed and how far people can go to achieve peace, even these you (general you) would ever expect to do anything “good”. “Sometimes costs are made to be borne." As Severus says in the Cursed Child (CC, Act 3, scene 7). Summing it up: I think we can say I’m torn on it. I hate the idea of Severus dying, but on the other hand I can see how it contributes to what the story tells.
However, as we only see Severus lying on the floor and no one actually checks on his vitals, there still is some room for exploration. Personally, I fully enjoy the headcanon of him that I have, in which he survived, but for a price. He suffers from bouts of excruciating pain in his left arm and shoulder, and tremors in his hands, and his eyesight worsened enough for him to be forced to wear glasses. He travels around the world for some years before he comes back to the UK and finds himself a nice house in a Muggle neighbourhood, because he doesn’t believe it’s safe for him to go back to the magical world.
(Well, I think that the magical world would be similar to ours in this aspect. Some wold appreciate what he did, some would curse his name to their dying breath.)
Copy and paste from one of my old posts:
Severus feigned his death. It was a close call for him (just millimetres from death), but miraculously he survived. Transfiguring pieces of wood into his own dead body almost killed him again, but alas - here he was finally free and alive. For now at least.
It took him almost one year to nullify most of the effect that Nagini’s venom had on his body. He mostly succeeded. However, every now and then he would suffer from excruciating pain or tremors in his hands.
He spent that year holed up in a small house, somewhere in Northern Scotland.
After that year he left the United Kingdom. He travelled around Europe at first.
At some point he wandered into Russia, looking for the fern flower. He found an enigmatic reference to it in some old Potions book. He hoped it could help him to heal completely.
He didn’t find the fern flower in the end. Instead he had a rather interesting meeting with the Firebird (or Zhar-ptitsa, as the locals called it). and gained its feather.
This adventure almost ended up in a small disaster. Enough to say that he woke up under the care of an old witch, called Baba Yaga by the locals. Truth be told, they didn’t exactly know she did live there or that she even existed. They just had this legend about an old, ugly witch living in the woods. They just got the feeling, if you know what I mean.
Yaga did help Severus quite a bit. It was thanks to her that he found out that some part of his problems was in fact related to his wand and quite a nasty Dark Curse.
She also had that irritating habit of calling him “malchik” (boy in Russian).
He ended up getting a new wand (Yaga’s courtesy). Hawthorn with a Firebird feather. Yaga had quite a good laugh about it. Called the wand “fitting”.
Severus’ health improved greatly under Yaga’s care. He left after a few weeks and continued the travel.
He changed his appearance. He’s cut his hair short, grew a beard (he hated it, but it changed his appearance without magic), he gained some weight, he also started to wear glasses (a necessity).
After 10 years he finally came back to the UK. He bought a small house in a Muggle town and stayed away from the wizarding world, living under assumed name. At some point Monster (a cat) adopted him. He also gained an unexpected friend.
Old habits die hard - he earned some money, selling home-made balms, pills, draughts and other “natural remedies”. People loved them. “They work like magic!” they said.
After years he could finally heal (in a mental way) and live.
(And here we can assume that he lived happily (as much as he could) ever after.)
In that world all is well and he can focus on his favourite things.
(Excuse the shameless linking of my old stuff.)
