Badgley Mischka 2006 Ad Campaign
For the first time in their billion-dollar careers, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen are fronting a designer label — Badgley Mischka. Author: Rosemary Feitelberg
For the spring ad campaign, which makes its debut in April magazines, Gilles Bensimon shot the twins glamming it up in the presidential suite of the St. Regis. What consumers won’t see is Mary-Kate Olsen dancing to her iPod tunes on top of a baby grand piano, the MTV pick-me-ups and the constant Starbucks runs — all of which happened in between takes. During an interview in their newly finished showroom here, Badgley said: “Gilles didn’t stop and they were like the Energizer bunny.” The Olsens also will appear in the designers’ fall campaign and may make special appearances on behalf of Badgley Mischka. “This is not about the Olsens, but about beautiful pictures that the Olsens just happen to be in,” Mischka said. [...] The Olsens’ sometimes overly energetic approach to fashion may get them into trouble with the tabloids, but their stylist-free way of dressing was selling a point with Badgley Mischka. “They love clothes and embracing glamour. They also love vintage and appreciate that,” Badgley said. [...] In a statement, Ashley said, “We have been fans of Mark and James for years and were honored when [we were] approached to appear in the ad campaign. When I wear Badgley Mischka, I feel sexy and feminine.” Mary-Kate added, “Recently, we attended their fall fashion show. The clothes were glamorous, beautiful, colorful and fun.” [...] Meeting with the designers — something they preferred to do without any handlers — the sisters recalled seeing a Badgley Mischka ad years ago in Paris, and their manager at the time told them how one day they will know they have made it when they wear those clothes. During Tuesday’s interview, Mischka said he and Badgley figured out when they were starting their business nearly 18 years ago that the twins were just starting their “Full House” careers. “We’ve been in business almost for the same amount of time,” Badgley laughed. [...] Despite the countless paparazzi shots that are published, Mischka lauded his new models for not courting the tabloids the way so many other celebrities do. He also liked that little is known about the Olsens’ family life, like the fact that they have three other siblings. He and Badgley, who has a twin sister, were struck by how affectionate and nurturing the girls are to one another, with a fair amount of you-try-this-first going on. But when it was time to shoot, Mischka said, “They are very confident and professional.” They were also keen to learn the ins and outs of the design process, and peppered the designers with questions about fabrics, techniques and inspiration. Mary-Kate, for example, wanted to know how a fabric rose was embellished with crystals, and they both asked more than once, “Where did that idea come from?” Badgley added, “They know their stuff.” The twins do know a few things about the apparel business, considering their company, Dualstar Entertainment Group, rang up more than $1 billion in 2004 sales, with apparel accounting for 80 percent of that. After the Badgley Mischka show, they said they are considering designing eveningwear or a more formal collection. That hasn’t been discussed with Badgley and Mischka, but Badgley said he wouldn’t be surprised, given the girls’ far-reaching and independently owned business.

Ah! The Metaluna Mutant! This beloved Universal Monster stands proudly alongside the classics such as Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, and even the Creature from the Black Lagoon, while the film in which it is featured is often overlooked as being included as a Universal Monster movie. Regardless, it’s time for the Grue Crew to revisit this cherished 50s Sci-Fi landmark entry, This Island Earth (1955).  In the film, Rex Reason and Faith Domergue unwillingly follow high-browed, white-hair-domed alien Jeff Morrow to his distant home planet where they finally, in the last few minutes, encounter the Metaluna Mutant face-to-face. Fun, sometimes goofy, always entertaining, the film delivers! During the episode, the Classic Era crew debunk a Hollywood myth about the film and uncover some key behind-the-scenes contributions from the film’s crew.
At the time of this writing, a stray copy of This Island Earth might be found streaming from Dailymotion or YouTube. The film is currently available on disc as a Blu-ray from Shout! Factory.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror: The Classic Era records a new episode every two weeks. Up next in their very flexible schedule, as chosen by Jeff, is Isle of the Dead (1945), a Val Lewton RKO film with an Oscar-nominated director starring Boris Karloff! Beware the vorvolaka!
Please let them know how they’re doing! They want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans: leave them a message or leave a comment on the Gruesome Magazine YouTube channel, the site, or email the Decades of Horror: The Classic Era podcast hosts at [email protected]

WIP 3, the smoke is a pain. Will probably keep tweaking bits of it.
I'm trying to decide if I should just continue with graphite shading or get some grey markers in there. Some workable fixative spray will be used either way (assuming it doesn't rain tomorrow and I can get it outside to spray)

Started as a sketch but sort of blossomed into self indulgent blood drinking fanart lol

can i request a dettlaff with another higher vampire? maybe they're friends with regis and/or geralt? thank you!
Tumblr media
A/N: These both literally were sent in in 2020 but I was keeping them because I love them and I love Dettlaff and I knew they’d be used one day 🤡🤡 I’m a terrible writer lmao I did change it up just a little but I hope it’s okay! and I um hope the two who sent these in are still around.... cause yeah 2 years....
Warnings: none, fluffy
The Rosemary and Thyme was rambunctious and lively as bards sang and performers dance for the crowd. Every table was crammed full and there was a large group of people dancing closer to the stage.
You were squeezed onto a bench between Dettlaff and Geralt. You were trying your best to contain your excitement, but it was quite difficult. Every now and then, you would find yourself clapping along with the music or even dancing in your seat. Being that the bench you were on was crowded, nearly every movement you made had you bumping into either Geralt or Dettlaff.
“You should go up there to dance, Y/N.” Geralt suggested, nodding to the crowd at the front of the room.
“You’re sittin’ there squirmin’ like you’ve got ants in your trousers.” Zoltan commented from across the table.
“It’s not often that I get to come to events like these.” You explained. “Dettlaff doesn’t enjoy them.”
“He looks like he’s being tortured. The poor sap.” Zoltan shifted his gaze to the higher vampire.
You turned your head to look at your husband.
He wasn’t paying a bit of attention to the bards or the performers. The look that was on his face screamed displeasure and discontent.
“Geralt is right, Y/N.” Regis spoke from the other side of Dettlaff. “You should go dance. You would enjoy it.”
“I would only go if someone joins me.”
Dettlaff could feel your eyes on him.
He shook his head, bringing his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose.
“My heart–,”
“It would just be for a few minutes, Dettlaff.”
“And in those few minutes, I would make a fool of myself dancing to this kind of music.”
“Always dramatic, Dettlaff, my love.” You rubbed his arm with a little smile.
A couple minutes later, Priscilla was making her way on to the stage.
You began to cheer for your friend and even going as far as to stand up as you clapped.
“Dettlaff, look!”
“I see who it is, my dear.”
“Clap for her, Dettlaff!”
“Darling, our beloved Dettlaff is an old soul.” Regis put his hand on Dettlaff’s arm. “In every sense of the word.”
You returned to your seat, smoothing out your skirt and then taking a sip of your drink.
“What does that make us?” You raised a brow with a little grin.
“Young and lively, of course. While Dettlaff lives up to his age, we will never be older than one-hundred-and-twenty.”
“I like the sound of that.” You giggled.
***
The night seemed to be over far too soon. You enjoyed the time spent with friends. Stories and drinks were shared, and there were many laughs.
After parting ways with everyone, you and Dettlaff began to walk by yourselves towards the inn you would be staying at.
With your arm hooked around his elbow, you leaned against him.
“Did you enjoy tonight?” You looked over at him.
“I always enjoy my nights spent with you.” He smiled tenderly at you. “Did you?”
“I had a fantastic evening.” You nodded. “The only thing that would have made it better would have been dancing with my husband.”
“Well, I don’t think that is something I can help you with.” He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “You know very well I don’t dance, especially not to that music.”
“You are so picky about what music you dance to.” You came to a stop and made him turn to face you. “I guess I will have to employ an orchestra from Toussaint to follow us around so that you will dance with me whenever I please.”
“Oh, I don’t think that is how that works.”
“Why not?” You giggled. “If I make sure we have the right music, why can’t we dance?”
“I only dance for you and you alone, my heart.”
“You really know how to charm me, don’t you?”
“I’ve had plenty of time to learn.” Large hands slipped around your waist and drew you in closer to him.
“We need to do this more often.” You kissed his cheek and then his lips. “Once a week.”
“I think once a decade is enough for me.”
“Oh, Dettlaff!” You groaned, pulling away from him to continue walking down the street. “You really are an old soul.”
“I know, my heart.”

When he does, he gets more than he bargained for.
@witcher-rarepair-summer-bingo
“He did it again.”
Geralt pulled his apron over his head, barely pausing to untangle his braid from the strap before he threw it onto the nearby hook and continued his march to the hallway between the break room and the kitchen.
Eskel and Ciri paused in their cleaning jobs — Ciri neatly stepping back to avoid the growing pool of water from the mop — and both glanced towards the front of the small cafe. The cases, void of the usual piled baked goods and delicacies, shone orange in the light from the glowing streetlights, the smears from the cleaning solution clear. Beyond them, the doors stood closed and locked amidst the forest of raised upturned chairs.
“What’s going on?” Ciri said, tugging on the edges of her sleeves, her voice tight.
“It’s just Geralt being dramatic over his latest crush,” Eskel said, casting his eyes skywards in a matching dramatic fashion. “Go ask him. I’m sure he’d love a new person to throw theories about him around with.”
“Not theories,” Geralt called back. The faint squeak of whiteboard pen followed his words, and Ciri abandoned her mop, jumping over the small pool of water and following him.
She found her adopted father frowning at a whiteboard set up above her eye-line. Ciri had seen it before, taken in the careful print of Geralt’s handwriting as he listed menu items and their ingredients and dismissed it as just another aspect of the management of the bakery. ‘Kaer More-Bread’ was barely stumbling by some days, but they all made it work.
“So?”
Geralt paused before continuing his writing. It was one of their newer items, a mango panna cotta next to its scant list of ingredients.
“Every time he comes here, he orders something different, but the process to get to ordering is…” Geralt’s mouth twisted, his amber eyes glowing with the thrill of a new mystery. “Interesting.
“He never asks whether an item contains an ingredient, always what is in each bake. It makes things more complicated, but the challenge is appreciated.”
Ciri snorted, memories of the half-completed and then abandoned projects that followed their small family around like ducklings flooding her mind. Geralt laughed, tapping her nose once in teasing admonishment, the action bringing with it the bitter scent of rosemary.
“And who is this mysterious ‘him’ that’s got you so enthralled?”
“What’s happening?” Lambert asked, stumbling out of the office, his eyes red-rimmed from exhaustion and a coffee cup clutched in his hand. Keeping up the accounts was a weekly chore, now that Vesemir had retired. They all took turns in performing and this week was Lambert’s turn.
“Geralt’s fancy man turned up again!” Eskel called, safe behind one of the cooling racks.
“Just go and sit outside the man’s window like a respectable stalker,” Lambert scoffed, tipping his head back to drain the dregs, dancing back to avoid Geralt’s swipe. “Any closer to figuring it out?”
“Opposed to your theory that the man is a vampire? No.”
Ciri caught Lambert’s eye and frowned up at him.
“I’ll explain on the drive home. Geralt, keys.”
Geralt threw them over, his eyes never leaving the list of ingredients as he studied them, searching for the hidden connection.
Geralt paused in taking the order, one hand hovering over the mechanical buttons of the till as he used the other to brace himself against the counter. The ache that radiated down his leg faded away into the background as he studied the man in front of him.
Something was different about Regis.
The man’s normally pale skin was flushed, but it was an unhealthy pallor against his dark clothing. The edges of his eyes were red, and every blink was careful and deliberate, the corners of his mouth tensing as if against waves of pain. He had stumbled over his words when he asked for the ingredients, his brow furrowed as he fought to focus.
“Are you okay, Regis?”
Regis sighed, a deep bone-weary sound, and tried to grin, his teeth slightly curved like fangs. He tipped his head to check behind him, the shop standing quiet and empty, before turning back to Geralt.
“I’ve been better. It is feeling like soon I will only be able to buy my food from the local grocers and this bakery.” Regis’ mouth twisted in annoyance before he settled back into polite professionalism.
“Because of your mysterious way of ordering?”
“It has a purpose. I have had too many meals or drinks ruined by someone not taking an allergy seriously, so I had to get creative to protect myself. Run the gauntlet between accidental exposure and someone not taking me seriously.”
Geralt nodded slowly, a bright ember of rage burning in the pit of his stomach on Regis’ behalf. His thoughts circled like starving wolves around the list of ingredients hanging in the corridor. He had the answer, he just had to find it.
“Citrus?”
Regis’ eyes widened before he winced, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Yes it is. Very perceptive of you.”
Geralt thanked every god he could name that Eskel and Ciri were likely restraining Lambert in the back office to let him have this uninterrupted moment. “You are a compelling mystery.”
“Oh?” Regis leant closer, a spark in his eyes. “Now I’m intrigued.”
Geralt swallowed, feeling the earth seem to slow around him. The air was warm, and the scent of freshly baked bread, which normally faded into the background, was noticeable and comforting.
“I finish in half an hour if you’re free to grab a drink? If not, it won’t affect anything, I just—“
“I’d be honoured. Given my… situation, I have to be fairly selective over where I go, and I don’t drink coffee, but there is a lovely bar-cafe fusion round the corner?”
“Cat’s Palace? Lambert’s sleeping with the owner, so we get discounts.”
Regis’ grin only widened, revealing more of his fanged smile. “This day is looking better and better by the second.”

Anonymous asked: Daddy Dick and Mommy Crys?! 👀 Can... Can we get Daddy Dick and Mommy Crys please? 👉👈 B... Babies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
{ As much as I would like to say yes and give you said babies, I’m not 100% sure Dickson and Crystal would even be able to have actual babies in the Resident Evil 8!AU because Crystal’s body is made out of those... fly things... so I don’t think she really has an actual body technically? I’d have to ask Serin cause it’s possible she made some alterations. The only one that would probably be able to have actual children, if that’s the case with Crystal, is Dickson since he has an actual body still. If anything, Dickson and Crystal would have to find human babies and bring them back to the village, said babies would most likely have to be abandoned though cause I doubt they’d just steal a baby. Though if we did ever agree on the baby thing, I already know a perfect face claim to make it match with our face claims!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It would certainly be the baby that Demon Serin and Regis Nex have. I believe it’s Siana? Cause the other baby was Ninoorut, I believe? But yeah! What gender it’d be and what kind of name it would have is beyond me, but hey, I at least indulged you with a baby face claim! Now if Serin decides to say something that gives the okay for this or whatever then there you have it. I leave stuff like this up to her since Crystal would be the mama. But don’t tempt me anymore because Serin already got me wanting to add Rosemary to the blog just so we could have the cute moments between her, Dickson, and Crystal. }

DEN OF GEEK CRITICS’ PICKS
The Ninth Gate
Though director Roman Polanski is a horrific figure himself, this 1999 neo-noir horror film, The Ninth Gate is superb. Thirty years after Rosemary’s Baby, Polanski conjured the devil once again and injected it with some of the pulp from his noir classic Chinatown in a movie that finds Johnny Depp as a man in Satanic Detective mode. Depp is a classic book authenticator hired to authenticate De Umbrarum Regis Novum Portis (The Nine Doors To the Kingdom of Shadows), a book believed by cultists capable of raising Satan to Earth.
The Ninth Gate doesn’t provide cheap thrills; it tightens the suspense like a noose. Polanski subtly creates an uneasy atmosphere using minimal effects. The director knows where evil lives and lets the settings and sound make the invitations with subliminal references to recognizable horror and cinematic danger, using framing and music similarly to Stanley Kubrick. The Ninth Gate packages its scares with classy style that the characters deliver with sexily provocative intelligence. Dean Corso may be Johnny Depp’s greatest spiritual transformation, from odious to ultimate evil and the audience cheers on his descent, happy to ride with him straight to hell.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Perhaps the world’s first horror film and a go-to example of early German Expressionist filmmaking, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari has been unsettling audiences for over a century.
The film’s main story centers on two young friends, Francis and Alan (Friedrich Feher and Hans Heinrich von Twardowski), who, while jockeying for the affections of Jane (Lil Dagover), visit a local traveling carnival. There they take in the act of the mysterious, top-hatted and wild-haired Dr. Caligari (Werner Krauss). As they watch, Caligari awakens his somnambulist subject, Cesare (the great Conrad Veidt), who under hypnosis answers questions from the audience. When Alan jokingly asks when he will die, Cesare responds “Before dawn.” We’ll let you guess the rest.
The film isn’t remembered much for its story, but for its arresting visual style, featuring painted backdrops that make the entire production feel like a fever dream. The painted townscape is filled with curved and pointed buildings teetering at dangerous angles, almost as if they were alive and shrieking. Roads twist and spiral to nowhere. The perspectives are deliberately mismatched and inconsistent, with the props and sets sometimes being too large for the characters, and others too small. The result is a transgressive, deeply influential film that has been unsettling audiences for over 100 years.
The Exorcist III
Based on his 1983 novel Legion, writer-director William Peter Blatty’s Exorcist III arrived 17 years after William Friedkin’s The Exorcist. Despite the still-looming pop culture presence of the original, The Exorcist III is sneakily the most interesting film in the series. Less a horror movie than a psychological thriller with supernatural and spiritual overtones, The Exorcist III takes place 17 years after the events of the first film, and with no reference whatsoever made to the events in the second. It finds Lt. Kinderman confronted with the apparent reappearance of two figures from his past who had supposedly died. The first is father Damien Karras (Jason Miller), who had died after bouncing down an endless flight of steps while performing an exorcism in the original movie, and the Gemini Killer, a serial killer loosely based on the Zodiac Killer that had been executed 17 years prior. However, there’s been a new string of murders around town carrying all the hallmarks of the Gemini.
While the studio famously mangled Blatty’s original cut of the film, there’s still a lot to like here, including a terrifying performance from Brad Dourif. Blatty is fantastic at creating dread-inducing atmosphere and has a keen attention to character and detail. It may not be as exciting as the original, but it’s a smart-slow burn film worthy of the Exorcist mantle.

The Devil’s Rejects
An homage to sleazy ‘70s C-movies, Rob Zombie’s sequel to House of 1,000 Corpses will leave you in the need of a shower, but it’s delightfully demented and the musician turned filmmaker’s finest effort. The shock-fest finds the Firefly clan, Otis (Bill Moseley), Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) – on the run from die-hard determined sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe). What unfolds is a nasty thrill ride full of twists, turns, and more gore than most audiences are comfortable with. How Zombie still manages to make such repulsive content entertaining, how he manages to get you to almost root for the despicable Firefly clan, is inexplicable magic trick, but indebted to Zombie’s use of black humor and deep knowledge of genre conventions that he sometimes subverts, but often gleefully leans into.
Train to Busan
The overused and increasingly predictable zombie genre got a shot in the arm with Train to Busan, a South Korean film from director Yeon Sang-ho about a young father desperately attempting to get his little daughter to her mother via train as a zombie pandemic breaks out all around them. Even if it veered close to outright sentimentality at times, Train to Busan differed from most of the films and TV shows we’ve seen in this genre due to its genuine bond of love between its main characters, and the flickers of empathy and humanity found therein.
And on a technical level, Yeon crafted his film with a kinetic energy that had been missing from the genre as of late. Train to Busan was not just a monster hit in its native land but amassed an international following as well, along with critical acclaim across the board. It’s easy to see why given the film’s well-drawn characters, subtle social commentary (some on the train feel they are more worthy of survival than others) and frightening action sequences that add up to a thrilling and emotionally powerful ride.

I don't know if you'll even answer this because of spoilers, but mixtape and wild card for Tye? Haha, if not, wild card for Gwenllian and Ameer
Thank you so much for the ask!!! These are always so exciting to receive!!! :D
Oooooh I wasn’t expecting anyone to ask about Tye!! I’m impressed haha!! Of course it’s going to be very difficult to answer this question as many facts about him are Classified™, but I like the challenge!!
So for mixtape: Obviously I can’t give some of the very specific tracks that I’ve listened to when thinking or writing about him (because BIG spoilers), so I’ve selected a couple of tracks that don’t have much lyrical significance or anything, and that I just like because I think the ~vibes~ are cool and match his character, or scenarios with his character (both in posted chapters and unposted chapters!)
Shadow from Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Battle March from Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Norupo by Heilung
The Angry River by The Hat (ft. Father John Misty)
The first two I chose because of vibes, I can’t explain further sorry! The last two I picked less because of how they related to Tye necessarily, but because I thought they had very spooky Velen vibes and after all Tye has been on a mission for unknown reasons to find the Crone!
As for the wild card, I decided that I’d try and do the microscope prompt, simply because I think it’s the only possible one to do without spoiling anything hahaha! So here are some random, insignificant details about Tye.
He has a fringe (or bangs I think Americans call them?) and his hair is a bit longer than his jawline, but he hasn’t been taking good care of it. The back of his hair is quite tangled.
The red strip he wears around his forehead is somewhat dirty and tattered, and it smells of sweat. It doesn’t appear to be made of any fine material – it looks poor in quality.
Although he is a very nervous individual, he has steady hands – he was able to heal a bite wound one handed, as seen in Part 2 Chapter 2, and had the witcher Oskar not been attacked by a leshen, he would have noticed that the wound from Tye’s severed ear was an extremely clean cut. If one were to ever study his handwriting, you’d also notice it’s very neat.
He’s ambidextrous (he was left handed first)
Aside from the scar on his forehead (the size and origin of which is unknown) he has a small scar on his hand from where Ameer bit him.
I also wanna do the wild cards for Gwenllian and Ameer hehehe hope that’s ok! For them both I decided I just wanted to do little fun facts about them!
Ameer:
Ameer loves learning languages, and can speak several: Ofieri, Elder speech, the language of Fox Mothers, Common and Nilfgaardian. Nilfgaardian was very easy for him to learn (as it’s very similar to Elder Speech), whereas Common was the most difficult language to learn, and is overall his weakest language.
Although Ameer loves to sing, he does not play any musical instruments. Various humans across Ofier have tried to teach him how to play various different instruments as he travelled, but he never got the knack of it. He was always very jealous of those who could and had great admiration for musicians. He also cannot read music, though simply because he never bothered to learn how.
Ameer is a tall individual, as most elves are. As a fox, however, he’s actually quite small. Fennec foxes are the smallest species of fox, but even compared to his older sisters and mother, Ameer is significantly smaller than them in his fox form, which was a source of teasing for him.
Since Ameer is not a true Fox Mother, he possesses the ability to use magic. This was something his mother was very concerned about – she had no idea how to manage his burgeoning abilities or teach him to control them. One day, while exploring the mountains, Ameer came across an elderly man who was travelling. The man was a sage of sorts, who often came into the mountain for meditation, herbal gathering, and studying the magic sources in the area. He ended up spotting Ameer and they formed a friendship of sorts. The man believed that Ameer was some sort of fey so knew not to harm him or take him away from the mountains. His mother initially disapproved of Ameer talking to the man, until she realised the old man possessed magical abilities like Ameer. She allowed Ameer to learn magic from him, and he was able to control his abilities a lot better after that. The old man was the first ever human Ameer spoke to.
Gwenllian:
Gwenllian loves poetry and literature. She’s something of an expert when it comes to Nilfgaardian prose and verse. In her old home in Nilfgaard, she had a collection of books from over the decades – she found it very interesting to compare the works between generations (not just in terms of style, but also how literature became far less outspoken or critical of the empire and ruling family in recent years, as those who did often wound up dead). Unfortunately when the other vampires cast her out of Nilfgaard, she had no choice but to leave most of these behind, although she managed to save a few and bring them with her to the North.
When Gwenllian fled Nilfgaard and was hiding in the Northern kingdoms, she was heavily injured and had huge cravings for blood. Raw and bloody meat would help satiate these cravings a little, but she was so weak she struggled to hunt any animals. Instead, she would forage for various medicinal herbs and sell them for money, which she used to buy meat for herself (then would hide and eat it raw). While selling herbs, she would try not to speak out loud and communicated through writing and gestures instead – revealing herself as Nilfgaardian to either side was dangerous, and her accent always gave her away.
Like Regis, Gwenllian can talk to ravens. Upon moving to Novigrad, she created a network of ravens to act as spies throughout the city – at this point, she was still extremely paranoid of other vampires finding her and killing her, and wanted to be informed of any vampires or other sketchy figures entering the city. When she explained her situation to the ravens she befriended, they didn’t care about her dark past – ravens like vampires, but don’t care much for their social hierarchies or rules. Gwenllian was nice to them, so that was good enough for them! She was always grateful for that. The three ravens who would often perch on top of her roof were nicknamed Rosemary, Camelia, and Marigold.
Gwenllian is a very good cook. When she was still struggling with blood cravings, and when she finally reached Novigrad, she tried her best to create big, heaty meals with plenty of flavours and seasoning to try and whet her appetite. As a result, she got quite good at cooking, and even after she no longer experienced blood cravings, she still enjoyed cooking and eating the meals she concocted. Aside from the fact she doesn’t particularly like Northern cuisine, the Nilfgaardian-style recipes remind her of home and help her with homesickness.
Thank you for sending in the ask!! Just what I needed to cheer myself up while I’m doing this damn essay ahaha!
