Most of the nations probably have scars, burns and sensitive areas on their bodies. Bitter gifts from the countless wars they have fought in. What do they do with them when they are gonna make a public appearance? i would like to hear your headcanons.

It really depends. Some nations prefer to keep their scars hidden, while others will proudly show them off. For example, I think France has a scar on the back of his neck from the reign of terror, which is why he likes his hair shoulder length to conceal it. I don't think he'd totally freak out if it was visible during a picture, but he just doesn't like attention towards it.

Most nations however probably don't really care if their scars are visible if they're at like a pool or something. Most people already know the historical events behind them. It only gets uncomfortable when humans draw a lot of attention towards them by asking invasive questions, saying they deserve it, or asking them to hide it because of discomfort.

I feel like that happened a lot post-9/11 when people saw those scars on Alfred and didn't know what to do other than be overly sympathetic and patriotic like "Oh you're so brave" and stuff. Scars that come directly from national tragedies can be triggering because it reminds nations that they're not invincible, which is why they usually try to cover it up while it's fresh.

Okay but what if allied society quest that's just like... all of Shaaloani and it encompasses helping our train boys rebuild a new train, while also helping Koana and the Hhetsarro bridge the gap between them regarding technology and honoring traditions while also maybe helping him get some closure on his abandonment.

Talking abt Doomsday is so interesting because. IMO while the event itself has some problems that aren't really solvable unless retconned, my main issue with it is that the L'Manbergians literally never got another win. If they'd been able to come back from that and prove that even if their home is blown to rubble they could rebuild again and again that'd be one thing (like how they rebuilt with NLM!) But it just sent the entirely wrong message re: the themes of the story. Like in a story abt the importance of attachment and community this event really said "that will all inevitably get destroyed and trying to fight for it is useless and you will not be able to recover from it and your life afterwards WILL be miserable"

Tldr Doomsday wouldn't have been as bad if it was a rock bottom that came before a significant win/high for the L'Manbergians (ALL of them)

i'll be honest every time i see atla fandom defend characters' unacknowledged flaws/mistakes/underdevelopment using some comic panel or another i have to laugh, as if bryke constantly relying on extratextual material to atla and tlok to try and fix the holes they write themselves into isn't a massive indicator they're generally quite bad at writing a good and cohesive story on their own/when they insist on complete creative control 🫠
