You can’t shop your way out of a monopoly
I'm on tour with my new, nationally bestselling novel The Bezzle! Catch me in TUCSON (Mar 9-10), then SAN FRANCISCO (Mar 13), Anaheim, and more!
If you're running a business, you can either invest at being good at your business, or good at Google SEO. Choose the former and your customers will love you – but they won't be able to find you, thanks to the people who choose the latter. And if you're going to invest in top-notch SEO, why bother investing in quality at all?
For more than a decade, Google has promised that it would do something about "lead gens" – services that spoof Google into thinking that they are local businesses, pushing down legit firms on both regular search and Google Maps (these downranked businesses invested in quality, not SEO, remember). Search for a roofer, a plumber, an electrician, or a locksmith (especially a locksmith), and most or all of the results will be lead-gens. They'll take your call, pretend to be a local business, and then call up some half-qualified bozo to come out and charge you four times the going rate for substandard work:
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/31/business/fake-online-locksmiths-may-be-out-to-pick-your-pocket-too.html
Some of them just take your money and they "go back to the shop for a tool" and never return:
https://www.riverfronttimes.com/news/when-a-fake-business-used-a-real-st-louis-address-things-got-weird-32087998
Google has been promising to fix this since the late aughts, and to be fair, it's a little better. There was once a time when a map of Manhattan showed more locksmiths than taxis:
https://blumenthals.com/blog/2009/02/18/google-maps-proves-more-locksmiths-in-nyc-than-cabs/
But GMaps is trapped in the enshittification squeeze. On the one hand, the company wants to provide a good and reliable map. On the other hand, the company makes money selling "ads" that are actually payola, where a business can pay to get to the top of the listings or get displayed on the map itself. Zoom out of Google's map of central London and the highlighted landmarks are a hilarious mix of "organic" and paid listings: the British Museum, Buckingham Palace, the Barbican, the London Eye…and a random oral and maxillofacial clinic in the financial district:
https://twitter.com/dylanbeattie/status/1764711667663831455
Hell of a job "organizing the world's information and making it universally accessible and useful," Big G. Doubtless the average Londoner finds the presence of this clinic super helpful in orienting themselves relative to the map on their phone screens, and it's a real service to tourists hoping to hit all the major landmarks.
It's not just Maps users who'd noticed the rampant enshittification. Even the original design team is so horrified they're moved to speak out about the moral injury they experience seeing the product they worked so hard on turned into a giant pile of shit:
https://twitter.com/elizlaraki/status/1727351922254852182
Now, when it comes to locksmiths, I'm lucky. My neighborhood in Burbank includes the wonderful Golden State Lock and Safe, which has been in business since 1942:
https://www.goldenstatelock.com/
But you wouldn't know it from searching GMaps for a locksmith near me. That search turns up a long list of scams:
https://www.google.com/maps/search/locksmith/@34.1750451,-118.369948,14z/data=!3m1!4b1?entry=ttu
It also turns up plenty of Keyme machines – these are private-equity backed, self-serve key-cutting machines placed in grocery stores. Despite Keyme calling itself a "locksmith," it's just a badly secured, overcaptilized, enshittification-bound system for collecting and retaining shapefiles for the keys to millions of homes, cross-referenced with billing information that will make it easy for the eventual hackers to mass-produce keys for all those poor suckers' houses.
(Hilariously, Keyme claims to be an "AI" company):
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200114005194/en/KeyMe-Raises-35-Million-to-Further-Its-Mission-of-Building-the-Premier-Locksmith-Services-Company-in-the-Nation
But despite the fact that you can literally see the Golden State storefront from Google Streetview, Google Maps claims to have no knowledge of it. Instead, Streetview labels Golden State "Keyme" – and displays a preview showing a locksmith using a tool to break into a jeep (I'd dearly love to know how the gadget next to the Slurpee machine at the 7-Eleven will drive itself to your jeep and unlock the door for you when you lose your keys):
https://www.google.com/maps/place/KeyMe+Locksmiths/@34.1752624,-118.3487531,3a,75y,350.19h,90.21t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1ssHrtqjqvgFir3NBauMy13Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x80c2959cd65dbb1b:0x4b3744cf87492a71!2sBurbank+Blvd+%26+N+Hollywood+Way,+Burbank,+CA+91505!3b1!8m2!3d34.1750025!4d-118.3493484!16s%2Fg%2F11f37_3lq8!3m5!1s0x80c2951cedbf4d39:0xe8ff9fd5872e66e9!8m2!3d34.1755176!4d-118.349!16s%2Fg%2F11mw7nr4fx?entry=ttu
It's pretty clear to me what's going on here. Keyme has hired some SEO creeps and/or paid off Google, flooding the zone with listings for its machines. Meanwhile, Golden State, being merely good at locksmithing, has lost the SEO wars. Perhaps Golden State could shift some of its emphasis from being good at locksmithing in order to get better at SEO, but this is a race that will always be won by the firm that puts the most into SEO, which will always be the firm that puts the least into quality.
Whenever I write about this stuff, people inevitably ask me which search engine they should use, if not Google?
And there's the rub.
Google used predatory pricing and anticompetitive mergers to acquire a 90% search market-share. The company spends more than $26b/year buying default position in every place where you might possibly encounter a new search engine. This created the "kill zone" – the VC's term of art for businesses that no one will invest in, because Google makes sure that no one will ever find out it exists:
https://www.theverge.com/23802382/search-engine-google-neeva-android
That's why the only serious competitor to Google is Bing, another Big Tech company (Bing is also the primary source of results on Duckduckgo, which is why DDG sometimes makes exceptions for Microsoft's privacy-invading tracking):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DuckDuckGo#Controversies
Google tells us that the quid-pro-quo of search monopolization is search excellence. The hundreds of billions it makes every year through monopoly control gives it the resources it needs to fight spammers and maintain search result quality. Anyone who's paid attention recently knows that this is bullshit: Google search quality is in free-fall, across all its products:
https://downloads.webis.de/publications/papers/bevendorff_2024a.pdf
But Google doesn't seem to think it has a problem. Rather than devoting all its available resources to fighting botshit, spam and scams, the company set $80 billion dollars alight last year with a stock buyback that was swiftly followed with 12,000 layoffs, followed by multiple subsequent rounds of layoffs:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/02/21/im-feeling-unlucky/#not-up-to-the-task
The scams that slip through Google's cracks are sometimes nefarious, but just as often they're decidedly amateurish, the kind of thing that Google could fix by throwing money at the problem, say, to validate that new ads for confirmed Google merchants come from the merchant's registered email addresses and go to the merchant's registered website:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/24/passive-income/#swiss-cheese-security
Search is a capital intensive business, and there are real returns to scale, as the UK Competition and Market Authority's excellent 2020 study describes:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5fe4957c8fa8f56aeff87c12/Appendix_I_-_search_quality_v.3_WEB_.pdf
But Google doesn't seem to think that its search needs that $80 billion to fight the spamwars. That's the thing about monopolists, they get complacent. As Lily Tomlin's "Ernestine the AT&T operator" used to say, "We don't care, we don't have to, we're the phone company."
That's why I'm so excited about the DOJ Antitrust Division monopolization case against Google. Trusting one company to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful," was a failure:
https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-google-monopolizing-digital-advertising-technologies
I understand why people want to know which search engine they should use instead of Google, and I get why, "There aren't any good search engines" is such an unsatisfactory answer. I understand why each fresh round of printer-company fuckery prompts people to ask "which printer should I get?" and I understand why "There are only six major printer companies and they're all suffering from end-stage enshittification" isn't what anyone wants to hear.
We want to be able to vote with our wallets, because it's so much faster and more convenient than voting with our ballots. But the vote-with-your-wallet election is rigged for the people with the thickest wallets. Try as hard as you'd like, you just can't shop your way out of a monopoly – that's like trying to recycle your way out of the climate emergency. Systemic problems need systemic solutions – not individual ones.
That's why the new antitrust matters so much. The answer to monopolies is to break up companies, block and unwind mergers, ban deceptive and unfair conduct. "Caveat emptor" is the scammer's motto. You shouldn't have to be an expert on lead gen scams to hire a locksmith without getting ripped off.
There are good products and services out there. Earlier this year, we decided to install a (non-networked) programmable pushbutton lock. I asked Deviant Ollam – whom I know from Defcon's Lockpicking Village – for a recommendation and he suggested the Schlage FE595:
https://www.schlage.com/en/home/products/FE595PLYFFFFLA.html
I liked it so much I bought another one for my office door. Eric from Golden State Lock and Safe installed it while I wrote this blog-post. It's great. I recommend both of 'em – 10/10, would do business again.

signalis analysis? thematic analysis i guess. this is mainly for a friend so it’s a little more cohesive than ramblings on discord, but obviously massive spoilers under the dropdown, go play the game first!
ill put this as a disclaimer, this is not an indepth line by line break down, this is more my thoughts on the overarching themes and what i remember from just beating it last night, so if something has direct evidence against it, then oops, and im assuming if youre reading this you know roughly what im talking about too
reading other people’s analysis of the game though i think some people get too caught up in trying to figure out what’s REAL and what’s not, what’s ariane’s dream and what’s actually going on
but i think the issue with that is that it’s an exercise in futility, it’s a game about dreams about dreams, layers on layers, i don’t think there’s any true or “best” interpetation of what’s going on
the core story, the one that we the audience are let in on the most and care about, is ariane and elster’s love story (they’re all love stories tho). ariane comes from leng, living away from civilization with her mom, and is sent to school in rotsfront, there she’s bullied and seen as weird by peers and her elders she does her military service, and applies for the penrose program to leave, to get away from it all, to find something out THERE in the space, anything that’s not her current life and she gets in, and meets Elster, and is told officially not to be friends with her, to keep her distance, and she does at first, but ariane gets lonely
she and elster open up to each other, fall in love with each other, until 3000 cycles in, and they find out the truth, that they’ve failed their mission (through no fault of their own), and they will die out here
ariane will die from starvation or from radiation poisoning, or from the Promise
signalis to me is about 2 core things, about being stuck in a cycle/loop, repeating yourself over again, trying desperately to break free from and failing, and about contradictions of PARADOXES, and by their nature lead to each other!
the promise elster is asked to fulfill by ariane is never stated, but i think the literal one was to kill ariane, but i think the true promise, the unspoken one, is for them to die together.
ariane talks in a diary about how shes scared one of them will wake up one day but the other wont, the fear of one of them dying leaving the other alone
and so reality is warping, not just in sierpinski but in general, ariane and elster keep looping different lives (as we see in the tarot/planets/dream diary), but they cant break that cycle Lilith itou and alison seo of vineta, soldiers in love, left stranded by their nation, a soldier returning home alone
Isolde and erika of rostfront, the sisters (familial and sisterly love is still love!!), isolde left alone by her sister first
the grand empress of buyan, wedded one day, taking her life the next, presumably leaving their spouse alone
and ariane, born on leng!, and elster
(i mean also, Isa’s full name is literally isolde, left alone by tristan)
(also for isa and erika there’s weird stuff going on there i may come back and edit this later, but isa and erika’s journey parallels very obviously ariane and elster, isa’s appearance at the end, with the stabbed eye mirroring lilith her mom and elster after alder, but there is the parallels as well with isa’s injuries being similar to ariane, and with in german when isa sees ariane being bullied, that erika came to protect ariane not isa, and that this damaged their friendship.
but still this to me is still symbolic of elster and ariane, of isa failing to do what she needed to, which she regrets. a “fun” theory too is that in protecting ariane from the bullies is what gets erika killed, either in punishment which we know can be fatal cause Eusan Nation is fucked, or in getting sent away to reeducation in Leng which is where Isa went to look for her sister. again, parallels of how isa feels regret for not doing what she needed to, for hesitating the critical moment just like elster did.)
(and also theres heimat, the 6th life but heimat is the only one not mentioned in the dream diary, but also heimat just means home as far as i can tell in german? theres something there, of the 6th life that we dont see, that ariane doesnt dream about is of their life at “home”, at the capital of the Nation. something something heaven and hell, the promised land, a place where they may have been happy but never get to be, a place where they would be home together)
it’s all one big loop, the grand empress creatures the empire, which splinters into the empire and the nation, in their war lilith and alison meet, lilith gets used as the neural template for elster, lilith is presumably the mother of isa and erika, elster and ariane’s bioresonance leads to reality warping, leads to the grand empress, the start of it all, forever in a loop
they exist at the same time as each other, they create each other, because its all a contradiction, stuck and bound together in eternity, forever together, but always left grieving, the symbolic nature of grief feeling like a cycle, even when you think it’s over it comes back!
and it sucks and its painful, and each time you try to find a way out, to break the cycle of grief, but it feels like it never ends, it never stops
but the bittersweetness even in that, that even in grief they find each other still
they’ll always find each other, fate brings them to each other, and fate rips them away from each other
ooahHG it just. its so good.
ariane and elster are the contradiction too, of their lives that we see, ariane is the one that surives not elster, but there’s so much in that being half true
in “reality”, elster is still the one to survive not ariane, elster’s replika in a journal entry being stated to have been recovered and used as the neural template for future elsters, so even in death, she remains the one to survive
but in the dream, ariane is left alive while elster fails to fulfill her promise, she fails to kill ariane, and in a greater sense she fails to uphold the cycle! she died first, and so the cycles must continue, she has to kill ariane so she can die too
its all contradictions! they want to be together, even in death, but the promise is for one to kill the other, one survives the other, and the other survives them, both are true at the same time
ariane in her sleep, the red eye, the entity, the song, Nowhere underneath the surface of leng, some cosmic entity without form (more contradictions), deep in the earth, has a bioresonance with ariane, connecting with her in sleep in her eternal dreams
side note i love the imagery behind the Song cosmic entity, the idea of the a being that exists without form (cough cough disco elysium). as a kid the idea of tartarus, of gaia, nyx, and ouranus in greek myth being what they are was so sick. theses things that gave birth to the titans, these things that aren’t entities so much as they are just things. the earth, the night, the sky, and the void
and here the threat isn’t some big oogly woogly monster, it’s the song the bioresonant people hear and are in tune with!
the cosmic horror isnt some big scary monster, it’s just a SONG
it’s their song, it’s the song they dance to, it’s all the songs they dance to, it’s the symbol of their love, the signal of their love and their grief, it’s the broadcasted message, it’s why the signal that plays to them was the signal of the end, the alert message that came at 3000 cycles, resonating through time and space, their love and pain and grief for each other being so strong it bends reality, their love and their grief being what infects sierprinski, and now finally in the lily/artifact ending its what “breaks” the cycle
taken from mint, their love is the cosmic horror! their love is what strong enough it distorts their world around them!!!
and the mining facility digs too deep, connecting the waking world with the dreaming world, and falke enters the dreams, and comes out half falke half elster and to me half ariane, falke coming back changed
falke coming back as part of elster, and in her grief, elster’s grief, she sleeps too, changed and driven mad by it all, and in coming back she brings a part of elster back with her,
and in the end you have to fight her. you have to kill her to reclaim yourself. elster has to kill her, kill a part of herself to become whole again, to remember her promise, to remember what happened.
someone i know had a good ass line about it too “We Are All Falke, Driven To Madness By The Purity Of Their Love“
also? falke sleeps like ariane, during the plot of the game, but to me falke is doing what elster can’t. elster can’t sleep, can’t “die” like ariane can, and in sleep becomes one as well with ariane
which may be what’s making the corruption spread, her bioresonnance in her dreams spreading ariane’s nightmare of the red flesh, of the cancer from the radiation poisoning, as it only gets worse with each cycle that elster makes and tries, their pain spreading on and on
in some cycles she fails (leave ending), entirely to even enter, knowing what and who is inside, unwilling to confront it
in some cycles she makes it in (memory ending), but fails to uphold the promise, dying at ariane’s side, leaving ariane to survive, the dream continues, the cycle must continue
and even when she does fulfill the promise (promise ending), it doesnt break the cycle, she kills ariane but even if she dies too soon after, she dies alone, not together. death isnt anything more than eternal slumber. the dream continues.
then theres the lily ending, there’s some great analysis of the king in yellow by Chambers and the story of the Mask which features the white lily, but to paraphrase, the white lily is a symbol of rebirth, both biblically and in the story, in which the white lily and Genivieve are turned to marble (look to alison’s hair turning white like ariane’s??), but at the end of the story turn back to their original forms, but the eldritch horror aspect (i think hastur in the books?) hastur was what may have given the characters the solution, so the lily and genivieve can be interpeted to have returned as changed now, the same but different
but in the secret ending we offer up the lily on the Artifact, the thing that was found deep within leng, the 6 pillars of the 6 planets around a slab. 6 elsters, 6 lives of herself offered up to the artifact, the glowing fractal that’s on the slab
and just, the eye watching them as they dance in the penrose ship, but now the dilapidated version of their ship? ariane’s red eye in some shots in the endings, of ariane maybe ascension? there’s the lines in german before the offering, after picking up the white lily from the safe “and in those days people will seek death and not find it“, with red on black, and then
after the offering, “The mystery of this god is finished, as she announced it to her servants the prophets.“ with reversed colors
they suffered and sought out death and couldnt find it, always looping, always starting another cycle, and then as the offering is given, the mystery of this god is finished, judgment is here from god, this god, this song. the song is over. we see them dance again as the music fades in then it all fades to black. the cycle breaks not with the promise being fulfilled or broken, but with their death together, together in love, dancing together into the end.
and from it all, and this is me reaching for even a bittersweet ending, to me it’s the contradiction finally closing. they were stuck in a loop because they couldnt bear what should have been the end of the true loop. did they deserve to die? god no but it was their end right? they were meant to die in space, or crash landed on a planet, but they resisted.
they find out their fate cycle 3000, but ariane’s notes start with cycle 5xxx. 2000 more cycles, they fought to be with each other, to survive, every extra day together, every time they both woke up
and even after elster passed, even after ariane presumably passed, in her dream and nightmare they kept fighting. kept warping reality, kept trying again and again to find each other
i dont think the happy ending is in ascending to divinity, in perptuality, but i think its in this being their end, and finally for them their true promise, in being together, their happy ending.
in passing together, not alone. as it fades to black they’re in each others arms
and just because it’s their end doesnt mean its the end right? the entire game has been about about the cycles of fate, of life and death. its about a dream with a dream. a loop with a loop.
their loop’s ended but their loops goes on, a story about contradictions.
theyll find each other again, fall in love again, and be happy again. in another life theyll explore the world, see the ocean that elster reminds ariane of.

“Birthday Breakup”
I originally wrote this post on my birthday, although the photo is from November, around the time when I was still dating Kristen.
Kristen went on a few dates, attended a few events together, and saw each other at different events around the city. We dated from the time we met (At a Symphony Orchestra in October), up until my 32nd birthday, in which she suggested we “see other people”.
I’m editing and republishing this post almost 6 months after we broke up, after taking the time to really reflect on the things I loved about our relationship, and the areas I think I could improve.
Similarly to my first military contract, I thought our relationship ended too soon. 6 months is barely enough time to get to know someone, especially considering the time frame in which she had met me.
As stated in some of my previous work, I go through transformations quite often, (usually year by year) and while you can get an idea of me in six months, it’s impossible to get the full picture, especially when you try to keep your relationship a secret.
The First Major Problem
If you were to ask me, the secretive nature of our relationship was why it didn’t work. Frankly, dating in secret comes off as shameful, dishonest, or immature, and considering her age, I don’t think it was the last option.
I could never comprehend dating in secret. Relationships are best when shared, because if you keep them a secret, you don’t give your friends and family the opportunity to support you. I’ve also never been the type to ever care if a woman ran her mouth about me (I like it actually), so I genuinely couldn’t relate with her reasoning, and with so many other things going on in my life, I didn’t have the opportunity to really question her or deeply consider it, at least not until we broke up.
The Second Major Problem
The second major problem is unfortunately derivative of the first. A complete lack of social media interaction. Now, this wouldn’t matter much if I came from a wealthy family or a had a different skill set, but the success of my career hinges on my ability to build an online persona that I can maintain in person. She seemed to be under the impression that my social media was for personal use, and that it involved sharing the intimate details of my life, but no; my social media is simply a way for people to track my career, and professional life while getting a better scope of my activities.
It’s not just about (my) Social Media
I would love if the next woman I date understands the image I am trying to build. It’s not just about my own personal social media (in fact, my personal social media has little to do with it), but it’s about my image being shared publicly, and is more about SEO than anything.
It’s very likely, that upon approaching a person in person or online, they are going to review my social media. That is intentional. The idea is that if a person was to see me in person, see me online, or talk to me privately, they would always see the same person. The tricky part about that, is that I have multiple jobs, so even though they will always see the same person, I might not be doing the same things, or wearing the same clothes.
As a United States Marine, I have 12 different uniforms.
There are an insane amount of rules and regulations on them (more on that later), both from how each uniform is worn and when, to where the uniform is worn and during what activity.
To summarize, there are four different types of uniforms:
Dress, Service, Combat, and Physical Training.
Each uniform has a summer and a winter variant.
For the Combat Uniform, the only real change between winter and summer is the way you wear your sleeves and what you wear underneath, but the other types of uniforms typically require another article of clothing altogether, an article that requires additional maintenance.
My Favorite Uniform
Overall, my favorite uniform in the Marines is the Service Alphas. A spectacular and versatile uniform that is the equivalent of a business suit. I wore a suit everyday, in the civilian world, but I never really wore my service uniform. I wore it twice, I wore the Service Charlies go shopping after boot camp (because I literally had nothing else to wear) and then I wore Service Alphas to check in at MCT.
This photo can single-handedly be cited as the reason I re-enlisted in the Marines.
It wasn’t about the cammies, it wasn’t about the Blue Dress Alphas with my singular medal, nor was it really about the benefits (although the GI Bill would be nice)
It was about this uniform, and what this uniform represents. Service.
I did not join the Marines to make money (you are literally a volunteer) I did not join the Marines because I love amphibious operations or expeditionary anything (I am a literal homebody), but I did join the Marines for the spectacular uniforms, which will be a very important subject for both this blog and my life in general.
The Universal Solution
While I’m not sure if Kristen and I will ever see each other (I will be actively avoiding her) I would not mind if she read this letter nor would I mind if she reached out to me. I would love to thank her not only for her companionship but also thank her for modeling for me.
I am effectively an actor, with modeling being a huge part of what I do. I’m not saying I won’t act in plays, movies, or television, nor am I saying I won’t model for luxury fashion brands or create my own luxury brand at some point, but what I’m saying is that the military will always be a part of my life and a core component of my personality, image, and branding.
For the sake of accountability, I should have told her more about my military aspirations. I should have told her that despite me just getting out, I’m going right back in, and I should have told her that I’m looking for either someone to support me or go in with me altogether.
Unfortunately, Kristen is a too old and fragile to be fit for military service, so I don’t think the second option is viable, although I hope she’s still open to the first one.
I also hope she forgives me for my dishonesty. It’s not like I don’t work in Finance, and it’s not like I don’t spend a decent amount of time in the gym, but I’m mostly working in Finance to put myself through college because even though I love the military, the enlisted pay is dogwater at best, especially if the Marine or Sailor is single.
BAH can make a huge difference, but I refuse to marry solely for BAH, rather I’d like to marry the girl or woman I love, for the sake of affirming my love for her, and making it easier to start a family.
I really haven’t been ready to get married or start a family, which I suppose is a huge consideration for older women, especially when they are also unmarried without children, but a majority of the women I date are younger than me.
Kristen is not the oldest woman I’ve dated, but she is certainly one of the smartest, classiest, and generally most inspiring women I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing ice cream with.

The Crucial Role of Digital Marketing in Business Growth
1: The Digital Landscape Revolution
In the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of business, the advent of digital marketing has brought about a revolutionary shift in the way companies connect with their audience.
Traditional marketing channels are no longer sufficient to keep pace with the dynamic consumer behavior of the digital age. Digital marketing has become a cornerstone for businesses looking to thrive in the modern marketplace.
2: Global Reach and Targeted Engagement
One of the key advantages of digital marketing is its ability to transcend geographical boundaries. Unlike traditional marketing, which is often limited to a local or regional scope, digital marketing opens up a world of possibilities for global outreach. Through strategic use of social media, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertising, businesses can reach a vast audience, ensuring their products or services are not confined by physical borders.
Moreover, digital marketing enables highly targeted engagement. With tools like analytics and customer data, businesses can tailor their marketing strategies to specific demographics, interests, and behaviors. This precision targeting ensures that marketing efforts are directed towards those most likely to convert, optimizing the return on investment.
3: Cost-Effective and Measurable Results
Compared to traditional advertising methods, digital marketing is often more cost-effective. Small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, can benefit from a level playing field where a well-executed digital marketing campaign can rival those of larger competitors without breaking the bank. Social media platforms, email marketing, and content creation offer affordable yet powerful avenues for businesses to promote their brand.
Furthermore, digital marketing provides a level of measurability that traditional methods struggle to match. Analytics tools offer insights into the performance of campaigns, allowing businesses to track metrics such as website traffic, conversion rates, and customer engagement. This data-driven approach enables real-time adjustments, ensuring that marketing strategies can be refined and optimized for maximum impact.
4: Building Brand Loyalty and Trust
In an era where consumers are inundated with information, building and maintaining trust is paramount. Digital marketing provides a platform for businesses to establish their brand identity and engage with customers on a personal level. Through social media interactions, content creation, and personalized email campaigns, businesses can foster a sense of community and loyalty among their audience.
Additionally, the transparency afforded by digital marketing builds trust. Online reviews, testimonials, and social proof play a crucial role in shaping consumer perceptions. A positive online presence can significantly enhance a brand's reputation and credibility, influencing purchasing decisions and fostering long-term customer relationships.
5: Adaptability and Evolution
The digital landscape is in a constant state of flux, with new technologies and trends emerging regularly. Digital marketing allows businesses to stay agile and adapt to these changes swiftly. Whether it's adjusting SEO strategies to align with search engine algorithms or incorporating the latest social media features, businesses can remain relevant and competitive by embracing the dynamic nature of digital marketing.
In conclusion, the importance of digital marketing in business cannot be overstated. It is a powerful tool that not only facilitates global reach and targeted engagement but also offers cost-effective solutions and measurable results. Beyond the tangible benefits, digital marketing plays a crucial role in building brand loyalty, trust, and adaptability in an ever-changing marketplace. As businesses continue to navigate the digital landscape, a robust and well-executed digital marketing strategy is essential for sustained growth and success.

I recently had a rather shitty experience regarding a somewhat predatory website and my only fans.
This site is in some kind of partnership with only fans if not owned by them in some capacity. They do have a paid analytics and seo plug in services that’s supposed to drive more traffic to you page. I personally haven’t seen great reviews for that service and apparently they charge up the ass, but that’s not where I had issues my subscribers mostly come from tumblr and Instagram anyway. HOWEVER On the back side of all that they have basically a directory of everyone on only fans on the side. They make assumption on your personal information based on public information from not just only fans but all linked social media platforms. That’s sketchy but it’s public, BUT they also will even advertise free access to only fans accounts they clearly state so you don’t have to pay to view creators accounts
Past the allowing free access to subscription based content they can have up to your location and what you make from OF just for anyone to see. Granted it’s all based off what they can pull from your account(s). While trying to do research on this company I found one creator claiming they had a wildly exaggerated estimate on her earnings, which in turn lead to a black mailing attempt from one of her followers. Other have had their content leaked or place on other subscriptions based sites thru the free links that this website provides.
Understandably you can see why I don’t want my information on this site. From on what I found regarding this site, getting your shit removed is a pain in the ass because the person in charge of removal is a dick. Based on their privacy policy removing your information from the site should have been as simple as sending an email to a provided email address. I emailed them and was immediately met with a diversion email. They try and convince you to not remove your content from this site saying that it’s “free advertising, giving you more opportunities to connect with potential subscribers”…. While advertising free links to get around subscription. Anyway, they kept trying to convince me to keep my information on the site and once I made it clear that I was not wanting to be on their site I was then directed to contact another email where again they tried to convince me to keep my information on their site. Mind you they’re not even addressing that they’re advertising free access to your account.
They claimed they would look into what they had posted about me and removed my information after proving url to what they had posted about me and my only fans. That sounded like a bs response so after a day or 2 of not hearing back I emailed again asking for a confirmation email once my information had been removed. They emailed my back immediately asking for a formal take down request form as well as a photo of my license…. This random sketchy website wanted a photo of my license. I feel like this was a fail safe to keep people from removing themselves from the site. Because most people on only fans value anonymity also how would they be verify my identity with nothing to compare that identity to. I don’t use my real name or location online and I’m in heavy makeup and cosplay. And my advi is a filter. So how were they going to verify my identity?
I emailed back asking for an alternative means of identifying my self and that I will provide a formal take down request but I’ll be acquiring the form from only fans directly and not clicking on any links they’ve provided me. I also added that their privacy policy seems misleading that one simple email is needed to have your information removed and that is not the case. They came back by saying they can’t just remove information for some random on the internet. Which I completely understand but when I ask for an alternative means of identifying myself they refuses and once I said I’ll just go thru only fans they begin to get a lil bitchy about it.
So I contacted onlyfans they took care of everything. I originally just asked for a form I could send in and they went ahead and did their whole legal action thingy. I reached back out to the website in order to get a confirmation email on the removal of my information I doubt I’ll get a response. But a week long back and forth vs only fan getting my shot taken down in only a day.
So if you encounter this company just go thru only fans support. I did check and my information was removed.

How Companies Can Use Digital Marketing to Their Advantage
Introduction:
In today's digital age, companies have access to a wide range of tools and platforms that can help them connect with their target audience and effectively promote their products or services. Digital marketing has emerged as a powerful strategy that enables businesses to reach a broader audience, engage customers effectively, and drive significant growth. This essay explores how companies can leverage digital marketing to their advantage, highlighting key strategies and tactics for success.
Increased Reach and Targeted Audience:
Digital marketing offers unparalleled reach compared to traditional marketing methods. With the internet's global reach and the widespread use of mobile devices, companies can target a vast audience across different geographies and demographics. Through search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, and social media marketing, businesses can optimize their online presence and reach potential customers effectively.
According to a study conducted by Pew Research Center, 81% of Americans own a smartphone, and around 72% of them use social media platforms (source: Pew Research Center). This highlights the immense potential of digital marketing to connect with a broad audience. By investing in well-designed websites, mobile applications, and social media campaigns, companies can tap into this extensive user base and generate brand awareness, leads, and sales.
To support this claim, an article from Social Media Examiner titled "The State of Social Media Marketing" provides insights into the growing influence of social media in reaching and engaging target audiences (source: Social Media Examiner).
Enhanced Customer Engagement and Personalization:
Digital marketing allows companies to engage with their customers in a more personalized and interactive manner. Through email marketing, content marketing, and social media interactions, businesses can foster a sense of community, build customer loyalty, and encourage advocacy.
Personalization plays a crucial role in effective digital marketing strategies. By leveraging data analytics and customer insights, companies can tailor their messages, offers, and recommendations to individual preferences. This level of personalization not only enhances customer satisfaction but also increases the likelihood of conversions and repeat business.
A case study from HubSpot titled "How Personalization Helped XYZ Company Increase Customer Engagement" provides real-world examples of how personalization techniques positively impact customer engagement and loyalty (source: HubSpot).
Measurable Results and Analytics:
One of the significant advantages of digital marketing is the ability to measure and analyze campaign performance accurately. Digital marketing platforms provide robust analytics tools that track various key performance indicators (KPIs), including website traffic, click-through rates, conversion rates, and customer behavior. This data-driven approach helps businesses understand their audience better, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions.
TastyPlacement.com, a renowned digital marketing agency, offers valuable insights into leveraging analytics for digital marketing success. Their article on "The Power of Digital Analytics" provides comprehensive guidance on using data analytics to optimize marketing efforts (source: TastyPlacement.com). By utilizing analytics, companies can refine their digital marketing strategies, allocate resources effectively, and achieve higher returns on investment.
To further support the importance of analytics in digital marketing, an article from Moz titled "The Beginner's Guide to Google Analytics" provides a detailed overview of using Google Analytics to track website performance and derive actionable insights (source: Moz).
Conclusion:
Digital marketing has revolutionized the way companies promote their products or services. By leveraging digital channels, businesses can reach a broader audience, engage customers on a personal level, and measure campaign effectiveness accurately. The use of strategies such as SEO, PPC advertising, social media marketing, and data analytics empowers companies to gain a competitive edge in today's digital landscape.
Digital marketing is an essential component of a successful marketing strategy, and companies that embrace it can unlock significant growth opportunities in the modern business landscape.

Unlock and Access Your Most Valuable SEO Data
SEO is the most viable and cost-effective way to both understand and reach customers at critical moments.
Many brands and businesses know (or think they know) that they need SEO for their digital properties, and they will benefit from SEO work being implemented on their behalf.
SEO will certainly improve the overall searchability and visibility of a website, but what other real value does it provide?
Why is the importance of SEO increasing in this way?
These reasons should provide some clarity as to why businesses need SEO to take their brand to the next level, regardless of industry or business size.
1. Organic search is often the primary source of website traffic
Organic search is a huge part of most businesses' website performance and is a vital component of the buyer funnel and ultimately leads users to complete a conversion or engagement.
As marketers know, Google has a huge share of the search market compared to competitors like Yahoo, Bing, and many others.
This is not to say that all search engines do not contribute to a brand's visibility they do. It's just that Google owns a large portion of the overall search market.
Nevertheless, it is a clear leader, and thus it is necessary to follow its guidelines.
But the remaining share of the market owned by other engines is also valuable to brands. This is especially true for brands in niche verticals where voice, visual and vertical search engines play an essential role.
Google, in addition to being the most visited website in the world (and especially in the United States), is also the most popular email provider globally with over 1 billion users.
YouTube is the second largest search engine and over 2 billion people access it at least once a month. 909Holdings has the Best digital marketing agency in the world that will help you in giving the best services.
We know that a clear majority of the world that has access to the Internet visits Google at least once a day to find information.
Being highly visible as a trusted resource by Google and other search engines will always work in favor of the brand. Quality SEO and a high-quality website get the brand out there.
2. SEO Builds Trust and Credibility
The goal of any experienced SEO is to establish a strong foundation for a beautiful website with a clean, effective user experience that is easily discoverable in search because of the trust and credibility of the brand and its digital properties.
Many elements go into establishing authority with respect to search engines such as Google.
In addition to the factors mentioned above, authority is earned over time as a result of these aspects:
• Natural Links.
• Positive user behavior.
• Machine-learning signals.
• Optimized on-page elements and content.
3. SEO is the best way to understand the voice of the consumer
From understanding macro market shifts to understanding consumer intent in fine detail, SEO tells us what customers want and need.
SEO data and format - spoken or spoken word - give us clear signals of intent and user behavior.
It does this in several ways:
• Search query data.
• SERP Analysis.
• Analytics data and AI insights.
4. A good SEO also means a better user experience
User experience has become the number one priority of every marketer. Everyone wants better organic ranking and maximum visibility. However, few people realize that optimal user experience is a big part of getting there.
Google has learned how to interpret good or bad user experience, and a positive user experience has become a key element to a website's success.
Google's page experience update is something marketers across all industries will need to follow and is part of their long-term focus on customer experience.
5. Local SEO means increased engagement, traffic, and conversions
With the rise and growing dominance of mobile traffic, local search has become a fundamental part of the success of small and medium-sized businesses.
Local adaptations focus on specific neighborhoods, towns, cities, regions,, and even states in order to establish a viable medium for the brand's message at a local level.
SEO professionals do this by optimizing a brand's website and its content, including local citations and backlinks, as well as regional listings related to the location and business sector a brand belongs.
To boost engagement locally, SEO professionals should start by optimizing a brand's Knowledge Graph panel, its Google My Business listing, and its social media profiles.
6. SEO Affects the Buying Cycle
Research is becoming an increasingly important element of SEO, and real-time research is growing in importance.
Using SEO tactics to drive your messaging around good deals, phenomenal products and services, and the importance and dependability of what you offer customers will be a game-changer.
This will definitely have a positive impact on the buying cycle as well if done correctly.
Brands should be visible in the places people need them for a worthy connection to be made. Local SEO enhances that visibility and lets potential customers find the answers and the businesses providing those answers.
