Today I made a case for my raspberry pi with lego:

(Ignore the ugly chunky hdmi cable and micro-hdmi adapter. these are some rigid chonkers.)

It even has a lid for the display:

The air can circulate thru the literal "windows". i might add some more cooling bodies inside.

I got my little Zerowriter epaper typing machine working the other day and I'm having fun writing on it and since I actually remembered to install Samba on it so I can actually transfer the txt documents I bang out on it to my laptop to actually edit and further save it.

The problem being that I actually have no idea what Samba or SMB is, I have no idea what will happen to my documents if wifi is down or otherwise off, I don't know how it will save if I make this ultra portable and am away from my laptop and home wifi, and I have no idea what Google Play apps are actually trustworthy to put on my phone to access the network on my Samsung android if that's a thing I need to do if I want to write away from my wifi

Halp I'm the most tech-inept millennial and don't understand shit it took seven hours to get the raspi and Samba working and i may have cried q but bc I didn't know what I was doing

Rare not my photos but I had to talk about this guy because they're one of the most interesting crickets I've seen.

Triaenogryllacris triaena

Is a kind of Gryllacrididae, also known as "Raspy crickets" or "Leaf roller crickets". These crickets are notable because they're one of the few Orthoptera that produce silk, they roll up leaves or debris and line the enclosure with silk produced from glands in their mouth to use as shelter. There are some species of Gryllacrididae native to the US, but this species in particular is found in Colombia. I don't know why he has a red dot on his forehead but that's their natural coloration!

I made a lego case for my Raspberry Pi4 with fan hat and 3.5" LCD touchscreen module (that is attached with a flatwire to the Raspi-fan hat combination).

the Gryllacrididae (leaf-rolling or raspy crickets) are one of my favorite orthopteran families: large, cricket-like animals with spiny limbs that hint at their predatory nature, and the unique feature of silk glands with which they use to tie leaves into secure shelters.

I saw a few species in Costa Rica, though all are unidentified. many gryllacridids have a translucent, gem-like luster to their vibrant colors; there’s even several species in Colombia (I must see these someday) that are a vibrant fluorescent-paint pink!
