Only thing I enjoyed about this movie was the Duke boy's car (general lee), and the always appealing Daisy Duke and a couple of other hotties! The rest of it was a total disappointment.

omg hi here to talk about the feral cats!

they definitely always had each other’s backs! but the thing is, barkov is so not a fighter, and neither was huberdeau (or ekblad or hornqvist). they would fight if they had to, but not usually the instigators. everyone kinda followed suit of the leadership core.

of course, we had lomberg and gudas and bennett who would square up and drop the gloves and the team would follow suit. reinhart’s first nhl fight was protecting a teammate in the 21-22 season. but I think after the coaching style switched with maurice and we got matthew’s spirit and some passive players left, guys were less hesitant to drop the gloves.

I distinctly remember one game against boston when matthew was in a fight with the goalie and two others, montour and a few other guys were skating back to their zone, heard the commotion, immediately turned and skated faster to help matthew.

that's INSANE that you're telling me ekblad wasn't much of a fighter before because i really feel like he's always starting shit now (said with such affection).

but yes, from how the guys talk about the culture matthew has helped create and the way goldie and randy talked about matthew drawing guys into the fight/guys matching his energy at the very beginning of last season, the vibe i got was definitely that they went feral as opposed to just regular feisty lmao

THE BEST WRITTEN SONGS OF ALL-TIME

     Because I have zero innate musical ability, the idea that someone can sit down with a musical instrument, and create an original song out of thin air is magic to me. Songwriting is a craft, but it’s inspiration that makes a good song into a great one. There are songwriters who seem able to turn out high quality songs in perpetuity. There are others who write maybe one or two great songs, and are never heard from again. So, I made a list of what I think are the 50 best written songs I’ve ever heard. These are in no particular order. I’ve listed the title followed by the songwriter or songwriters, and in parentheses is the performer I most enjoy hearing do the song – although most of these songs have been recorded countless times by a variety of artists. You can probably find all of these on YouTube or any of the streaming services. Most have lyrics, but some do not. But, it’s hard for me to imagine any of these songs being recorded by anyone with talent, and not retaining the brilliance with which the song was written.

Song of the Day - “Is That All There Is?”

55 Years Ago Today, Peggy Lee recorded “Is That All There Is?” At the Capitol Tower recording studio in Hollywood. This was one of Peggy’s biggest hits. It hit #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart and was fairly high up on the Hot 100. The song was written by the famed songwriting duo Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, and is a lament of a disillusioned soul with the hard facts of life, going through a lifetime list of events which were supposed to be special but which were in fact disappointments. The song was inspired by Thomas Mann’s book “Disillusionment”. The verses’ lyrics are spoken rather than sung, and only the refrain is sung. The song was first recorded by British singer Georgia Brown and Leslie Uggams before Peggy took a crack at it. It would later get covered by Tony Bennett, Chaka Khan, and PJ Harvey, among others… but it is Peggy Lee’s tune. Something about her voice and her vibe are the perfect match for the lyrics… On the recording, the orchestral arrangement was composed and arranged by future famed songwriter Randy Newman, who, in addition to conducting the orchestra, also played the piano on the track. It was done in a Kurt Weill swing style. It’s such a strange song… but it was a “thing” when it was released… and delivered with Peggy’s sexy voice, it just kinda worked… a little oddity….
