summary - briss moves to vegas and meets a girl severely out of his league, on his first day at the rink. or so he thought.

“who is she?” bren asks to the manager who is taking him the locker room as he spots her.

“that’s y/n l/n, mr. brisson…. I wouldn’t if I were you. the l/n company is buying into our franchise, hopefully.” the manager, mr. ramsey told him as they walked by a conference room, near the locker room. he saw her standing and talking with many executives, in a black dress & pearls. very classy, and very dignified.

“that’s y/n l/n? I thought she would be older…..” he asked the manager again, as they walked by the board room.

“she is 20, and just took over her dying father’s company. big ceo now, but she is a model for chanel, a partnering company for her father’s company—“

“hera clothing co. I love their stuff.” brendan cut him off, as they both softly laughed, walking to the locker room.

“well— here is your stop! drop your stuff up and go look around the rink. it is empty and yours for the taking! coach said that you could go on the ice to skate some if you’d like. but personally, I’d go to the top top floor, look down from it and then go to the ice; to put in perspective on how big of a change, and chance you have in this arena! plus….. it’s y/n’s favorite spot to stay at. I have known her for two years now, mr. brisson, I’d go if I were you.” he told the new rookie, winking lightly and walking out the door.

“that son of a bitch—- what a guy.” brendan told himself as he sprinted to the top floor.

y/n was done with the last board meeting of the day, and hopefully for the rest of the year. the nhl season just ended for the vegas golden knights, and it was their first year in franchise history to not be playoff bound. first time for everything. she has been a avid hockey fan for years because of her father, and now as the ceo of his company, she made it her mission to invest in a team near her, which happened to be vegas.

her father liked vegas, and raised her around the bright lights of sin city. edward, her father, made the company, hera clothing co. a staple big named luxury clothing company like dior and ysl, but made its hq in las vegas instead of la. hera ranges from men’s clothing, women’s clothing, jewelry, watches, and almost every type of luxury item you could think of.

y/n was overwhelmed at the thought of taking over the company, creating new branding ideas, new designs….. she was a model, not a ceo. but growing up, chanel’s team helped raise her into the woman she is today, meaning she was sponsored by chanel & even mentored by them to become the business woman she is today.

now, she sits at the top of the arena, highest seat in the whole place as she thinks about the deal she just signed onto for her father. she is now a shareholder of the vegas golden knights nhl franchise. she was always more of a montreal fan, considering the many years living there doing campaigning for the company, but LV was home to her father….. so she did this for him. to make him proud of her for something.

“hey!” a voice got her attention as she turned to see a tall brunette boy run from the elevator and up the stairs to her.

“hi?” she said lightly, waving him over. the new jersey that the team just gave her is on her with the number 19 & l/n on the back of it. it was a little big, but it was comfy and warm, and covered up her nice chanel black business dress she was wearing.

“mr. ramsey said that you’d be up here. I saw you in the conference room and had to find you again— hey that’s my number…. old number I mean.” the boy told her as he went to sit down near her.

“I’m flattered that you tried to find me again. are you the new rookie that they just signed? brisson?” she asked him as he scooted closer, extending his hand out.

“brendan. brendan brisson. I don’t know what number I am yet, but I was #19 on team usa & for my university team—“ he introduced himself, shaking her hand.

“umich? an old friend used to go there, I met him awhile back in montreal.. bordeleau?” she asked him as he nodded.

“my best friend, I miss him. he signed to the sharks recently! played his first game already.” he stated, looking down at all the chairs in front of them.

“yeah, I was super proud of him. I doubt he even knows who I am any more.” she joked as brendan laughed lightly as he looked out and around at where they were at.

“so this is your favorite place in the arena?” he asked her, as she nodded.

“when they built it, my dad and I were one of the first people in it. I wanted to see how it felt to be on the ice but also at the very top of the arena. I went to the top first, and never got a chance on the ice because it felt so relaxing up here. I finally felt small. it’s weird I know but—“ she explained to him, as he looked up to see the emotions on her face.

“no I get it, overbearing fathers who push you to do—“ he cut her off as they looked at each other.

“so much in a short period of time with their expectations and name on the line.” she whispered as he nodded.

“daddy issues 101.” he joked as y/n laughed.

“well, how does it feel to be up here?” y/n said clearing the air.

“it’s weird, but I think I like it up here.” he told her looking down at the ice and then looking back at her.

“I’m glad. It still takes my breath away every time I walk up these stairs to this row.” she told him as she stood up, grabbing her purse. looking down at her watch, she had been sitting up in the stands for almost 2 hours in total.. they had done some small talk & talked about their lives before vegas & home, they were up there for hours, laughing and getting closer. she opened up to him, something she never did for anyone.

“you took my breath away, ms. l/n.” brendan told her softly as he stood up, helping her walk through the seats to the elevator.

“whatever, that was so cheesy.” she laughed as they walked to the elevator.

“I wasn’t kidding. the sight of you made me speechless. you’re one of the most gorgeous people I’ve ever met— and now your personality with it? I’m surprised many people aren’t head over heels for you, y/n.” he told her as they stood side by side waiting for the elevator.

“it’s because I never open up that easily. but I opened up to you, so that means something, brendan.” she told him as the elevator dinged. she turned around to look out to the top of the arena one last time before briss pulled her hand into the elevator. it was gentle but with enough force to have HIM to take HER breath away.

“hey—“ she said lightly as he pulled her gently into the elevator. his hand pulled her harder than he thought, as she fell into his arms, loosing her balance because of the heels she was in.

“woah, can’t have you falling for me now…” he joked as they both shifted a little. she looked up and smiled at him.

“well, now you are taking my breath away.” she said blushing as the elevator finally started to shut.

“maybe you need some help getting some of your breath back?” he said softly as he moved a piece of hair out of her face, moving closer.

“if you don’t kiss me right now—“ she said as she got closer and he put his lips to hers. smiling into the kiss, she felt her “breath” being put back into her.

they broke the kiss moments later, smiling as the elevator dings to the ground floor; they break apart, but still stay close together.

“I have a good feeling about this. can I take you skating?” bren asks her as the elevator opens.

“I— I don’t know how…. and I’m not sure that you want or need me right now.” she told him as they exit the elevator. how did she like him so much even though they met only a few hours ago? It felt like forever.

“well, it’s off season and I need to teach you, my new friend or whatever I can be to you, how to skate. so cmon!” brendan flashed a bright smile at her, grabbing her hand and running towards the empty locker room to grab them skates.

“what a charmer—“ she laughed as brendan took her to the locker room, running around to find skates as she sat on the bench, waiting. silently humming take my breath away by berlin, from one of her favorite movies, top gun. she liked brendan, he was a good guy, a charming, lovable hockey player with a bright future ahead of him. she was lucky to have met him today, and hoped that he could stay in her life for awhile.

she was someone he needed, as he was someone she needed.

they both just don’t know it quite yet.

As it stands now, a lot of the night clubs and day clubs including live venues will not be opening until there is a vaccine available for Covid-19.  I concur with their discretion as we don’t want the spread of the virus to increase due to large gatherings of that nature. So this luxury trip will be a food-centric visit and we love our food so taking in the best food that Vegas has to offer is something we are living for!

Pokemon Moon Namelocke Episode 9: Gone Grocery Shopping

I am in the mood to begin this episode with a good ol’ fashioned scuffle ! Though this guy better not have Hariyama..... I don’t even know if poor FIlIS could handle a hit from a Hariyama...... yes I’m still bitter about losing Kyuubi.

Nah he had an Absol..... not much of a scuffle since Kitten basically ended it with a fake out and a U-turn.

Speaking of scuffles I hear there is trouble at ye ol Malie Garden, so that’s where I’ll be heading next.

Kukui please.... in a battle where you only use 4 moves don’t tell them what moves you’ll be using..... and don’t lie you’re just going to send out Rockruff and spam protect.

Oh my it’s ya boy Guzma..... I am so hype for this upcoming battle.  Slay me Guzma slay me.  I like Guzma for the same reason I like Gladdion.  I like Gladdion’s hoodie.... I like Guzma’s sweat pants.  So comfortable looking.

To get real for a second, whoever, during this conversation I was doing some thinking about Kukui and he might actually be my favorite Pokemon professor ever.  I mean sure he isn’t in his lab doing research he is out on this adventure and pursuing a career in the Royal Rumble, but he is a professor that specializes in Pokemon moves so it makes sense he is out and about trying to get a Pokemon League going and getting involved with some battles.  

He is doing research without hiding in a lab expecting a ten-year-old to fill out a Pokedex.

Professor Sycamore was a Mega Evolution expert, but wasn’t spamming mega evolve as much as me.  Really what did he even do other than act rapey towards my female OC?  Kukai is in there doing stuff.

I’ve been worried about this fight for a while because Guzma’s Golispod is no push over...... but then the idiot went ahead and used swords dance twice on a pokemon with emergency exit.  Okay....

I got some bug weaknesses on my team still so I sent out DOGE who took care of this battle with nothing more than a work up and head butt.  (I need to find that Return TM) I made sure to award DOGE with a rainbow bean again for his efforts.

After the battle Kukui gave me a Decidum Z..... too bad Mr. Owl has been on Hiatus for a long time.  Doesn’t he know this a Nuzelocke.... where is my Gogoatium Z?

In honor of DOGE’s triumph I gave him another hair cut to rock out this episode.

Now it’s off to Route 12 to go on the search for some more plot and an encounter.  On Route 12 I caught Lefty the Mudbray.

I named it after one of many the Beanie Babies I use to have.  The democrat donkey Beanie Baby.  Oh man.... it doesn’t look like anything really great is happening in the hasty box.... cept for maybe a Lucario.

Wound up with Ducky Momo the Psyduck.  Have no idea what this name means, but at least it has a few moves and I’ve given up on the idea of bumpounder ever being a Vaporeon replacement so I can’t complain.

Went back to route 12 to clear it out some trainers.  Kitten is almost level 40 and that’s just from doing it’s current job of using fake out and then U-turning it out of there.  I’ll probably be using this strategy on that pesky Ghost Trial whenever I get to that point.

Apparently Cosmog is in danger.... I mean good.  Is living in Lilly’s bag really what you would call a life?  It could use a little danger to switch things up a bit.

Got a few more encounters to exchange.  I had to catch a couple of Karps with repeat and quick balls.... is this what it feels like to be one of the human dumpster fires that throws that crap into Wonder Trade?

From the Secluded Shore we have Catfish the Magikarp with an Impish nature.  It was exchanged for...

Not Bun the Pikachu..... more like Not Fun.... Impish is a horrible nature for a Pikachu and this coming from someone that rocks an adamant Raichu.

From Route 13 we got Fillet the Magikarp with a Naughty Nature.... a box I’ve been visiting a lot.

There is a tie between Fuc* me the Crabrawler and Cotton the Cottonee.

RNG tells me Cotton, and that’s fine because I don’t like how that Crabrawler is looking at me even though I’m literally drowning in grass types right now.

Seems like we are going back to the ‘Naughty’ Box with Walda the Raticate I caught in Tapu Village.

The exchange is....

oooooooooo Pegasus the Ponyta.... I don’t think I’ve actually used a Ponyta since gen 1 so it’d be interesting if I get to use it this locke.

Now back to the plot!

I will once again be a Team Skull apologist and believe this grunt is doing nothing wrong at the moment.  If you see something say something.  That’s all he is doing to keep the community safe.

With that out of the way time for the big episode scuffle as I go through the abandoned grocery store to take on a big Mimikyu.  Glad this is my second time playing this game.  First time that Mimikyu almost gave me a heart attack when I found it with the pokefinder.  

Time for some champion strats.  Fake out won’t work so let’s just u-turn it out of there to break it’s disguise!

Good thing Kitten likes me and U-turn got it right out!  Mimikyu outspeeds me and play rough hurt really bad.  I am going to have to switch into something that can take a hit.  Mis Gender knows T-wave so I just need to slow it down.

Mis Gender can take a play rough but not two attacks from two different Pokemon... and this strategy was in vain, because apparently Mimikyu is holding on to a lum berry so it recovered from paralysis.... silly Mimikyu Smogon says you should be holding a focus sash.  Silly Mimikyu.

I got mixed feelings about this death....

On the one hand I didn’t believe Mis Gender would be going to the end with me.  Illumise is a bulky bug that has a few tricks up it’s sleeve but as the game goes on and you’re dealing with evolved Pokemon at a higher level it loses its sparkle..... but on the other hand it died in vain because I couldn’t get a T-wave on Mimikyu..... poor Illumise I’ll never know what your gender was.

Time for Plan B and by that I mean Plan Bean.  Mimikyu is using mostly physical attacks and Bean can take a hit as well as set up an Acid Armor or two to protect itself before fighting. 

Once I had my acid armor set up, however, I had to bring in some rain to rely on Hydration, because Haunter wants to sit there and spam hypnosis and hydration will give me a free heal from sleep.  

Only problem with that strategy is when I fell asleep I still missed out on my turn since these Pokemon are too fast compared to Bean.  It’s a good thing I got my acid armor in though for it kept me alive throughout all of this.

Once I was finally allowed to make a move I used my Z-Power and took Mimikyu out in one hit.  That was for you Mis Gender.... I still feel guilty...

The battle has been won, but before I end things I have a few more encounters to deal with so I don’t forget next time I play.

We got Ramsey B. (Ramsey Bolton tho should be Snow) the Raticate caught on Route 15 that has a Rash nature.

A tie between Gabby and dinner.  RNG decided upon Gabby.... I guess I just wasn’t hungry enough.  Where was a reliable poison type during the last battle Gabby?
