“I’m not going to tell anyone,” I say firmly. “Or put it in the book.”
This only makes him laugh more, which turns into a groan. “I can see it now. How to Make Your Girlfriend Howl with Laughter . . . In Bed.”
“Instant bestseller.”

"Crush’ is too weak a word to describe how I feel. It doesn’t do you justice, but maybe it works for me. I am the one who is crushed. I’m crushed that we have only ever regarded each other as enemies. I’m crushed when the day ends and I haven’t said anything to you that isn’t cloaked in five layers of sarcasm."

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨
Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
[instagram]
This was such a sweet romance.
I absolutely loved both these characters right from the start. I kind of wish it was dual POV just to get more of an insight into Russell’s thoughts and feelings, but I did love the way Ari saw him, too.
They were just so utterly sweet with each other! They cared so much and they both had their own hangups that meant they wanted to take it slow. They were so kind and understanding and gentle with each other.
I looooved the Parent Trap premise of getting their bosses back together. It was so much fun and Seth and Torrance were great characters. I also really loved Russell’s daughter, Elodie. She was an absolute delight.
The very late third act breakup felt a little bit overdone. I felt like it would have worked better as an argument they both walked away from hurt and angry, then came back together and apologised, instead of it feeling so final only for Ari to get her shit together again.
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this and will definitely read more from this author.

Review: Business or Pleasure (Rachel Lynn Solomon)
Rating: ★★★★.5/5
“I am a writer. I have always been a writer, but somewhere along the way, maybe to shield myself from the possibility of failure, I stopped writing for myself. I stopped writing for the pure love of it and let my voice disappear into someone else’s. Not anymore. This book will have Finn’s name on the cover - I’ve known that since the beginning. And the next one, I’m determined, will have mine.”
This was SO fun and spicy. I absolutely loved picturing the cast of Teen Wolf as the Nocturnals cast, even if they didn’t 100% line up, and I always love this kind of wish fulfillment romcom set in the acting world.
Chandler Cohen is a writer. She's gotten into ghostwriting to pay the bills, but when the "author" of her most recent book didn't even know who she was at a signing, Chandler is having a crisis. The night turns around when she meets a man at the bookstore bar, buuuuut he turns out to be the worst sex she's ever had. She's fine to put that whole night in the past - until a new job crops up, and her new author is none other than that man she met in the bar...who also happens to be an actor in the cult supernatural hit show, the Nocturnals.
This feels on par with Spoiler Alert for me. There is something about imagining a romance with a TV star that is just *chefs kiss*, at least for me.
I really liked Chandler as our FMC. She's unafraid to communicate, especially in the bedroom, but she can't seem to face the fact that she needs more out of her career, and her journey to realizing that is a lot of fun. Finn is so sweet, and the way that they deal with his...*ahem*...shortcomings is hilarious and sexy and never feels awkward (except when it should). The communication between these two is really next level and it makes the book better than some other romances where our leads just can't seem to JUST. TALK.
I also really loved the cons in here, and I wish we got more of them. I used to love going to conventions, and I feel like the atmosphere and general vibes could've been explored more and brought even more richness and fun to the story. However, what we do get is great.
And the cast of the Nocturnals! Like I said, I had clear pictures of them in my head, and I wish we got more time with them. Spinoffs, maybe...?
If you like Hollywood-ish romances, communication, and good spice, this is an excellent choice. It's light without being too light, and so easy to fly through and enjoy.

Quote
Almost ten years I've been in therapy, and every time I'm here, I'm all brief answers at first. 'How are you?' 'Okay.' 'What have you been up to since last time?' 'Not much.' I have to ease into it, a duckling learning to swim again and again. Joanna must be used to it because she lets her questions breathe. Therapy and journalism have that in common.
