Was pondering how Mark’s rigid ass mask/lens is prob a Budget Thing (since squishy, bendy lens are pretty much a mandate for all hero animated series, like JL, BTAS, TNBA, Spider-Man, etc), and then I was slapped with a vision of Mark in a more JL/BTAS-ish style and I had to see it through. I am a genius btw.

#i had MANY thoughts while drawing my brain melted while posting so if ya have questions send 'em / ask 'em #but rapid fire: leans more into nightwing's look b/c bro's name is legit grayson + moves away from his father's sidekick/protege +#and legit has a blue and black outfit. that is soooo winking at robin (dick grayson specifically)#mark has a more casual / athletic fit and tried to keep his usual kicked puppy expression / mood #which then contrasts his more emotional (hero) side he acts upon when he's suited up as ANOTHER wink to the whole dual persona #mark does it unintentionally as he's eager to prove himself as invincible and thus more emotional/confidential/eager + feels lackluster #as just mark grayson.#but it's such a comic book trope it's interesting el show ignores the potential stakes for that + prob cause they dont focus on #villains #mark has debbie's cheek bones + pearls both so he skip the whole copy paste design tactic cartoons annoyingly use + wink at batman w/ pearl #nolan wears pink and debbie wears green b/c they have conflicting views on raising Mark but (used to?) stand on a somewhat #united front by having same collared shirt. but mark leans more on debbie's stuff visually w/ cooler colors + white shirt underneath #mark keeps his cape as another wink/nod at robins (tim drake TNBS specifically) which mimics his Dad + kid-like eagerness for hero stuff #which he gets rid off when he goes blue/black suit arc (cough cough nightwing looking ass) so just leaned MORE into it #mark has a heart on his chest because he's TRYING to do what he think he's best + emotional asf #lens/goggles are diff to keep the audiences' eye back at HIS eyes + look more ominous and predatory which the black/blue combo #already COULD do in canon but in show its just pallete swapped which ruins the more ominious look it probably intended #and doesnt really scream “OH NO! THERE'S NO GOLD! Yk what its actually so tiring to see people insisting jayvik is cannon when they were not written like that.

It's also wrong to call Christian Linke homophobic just because he didn't make a pair gay. I saw the same thing being said about Stan Lee just because he said Peter Parker wasn't gay. Could he actually be homophobic? Yeah but people can't base it on this single thing, especially only because they're upset their ship isn't cannon.

Are the memes good? Yeah. Are people allowed to ship and enjoy the dynamic? Of course. But don't insist its actually real or something. Those characters are essentially not real. A lot of people are making this an a lot bigger deal than it is and raging over nothing.

The same goes for homophobes saying jayvik's relationship is just brotherly.

Something I love about ATLA is that it doesn't force the "forgive the villain" on all the characters. It's been left clear that Ozai is a bad person, and there's no chance of redemption; the only reason he's not dead yet is because Aang is a pacifist

The one episode where a character is supposed to forgive someone who has hurt them in the past is the one where Katara is off to kill a man (which, fair) and Zuko helps. In that episode, even if Aang is telling her to let go, she doesn't forgive him. She never will. But she spares him. Not because she thinks he doesn't deserve death (he does), but because she's not willing to continue the cycle of violence

Killing someone can have a very important impact in your entire being, mostly depending on who you are as a person. Aang would've never recovered from killing Ozai. Katara wouldn't be who she is now, had she taken her revenge on the man that killed her mother

And the best part of it is that Ozai doesn't deserve to die. Not in a "I'm defending him" way (ew), but in a "he deserves worse that than" way

Taking away his bending was the perfect punishment for him. He believed bending made you superior and he never cared enough to train something besides his bending. What a loser. Zuko and Azula wouldn't be restrained by something like that

He's alive. Nobody has forgiven him. Nobody ever will

#apparently the aunt from dad's side who has/had major beef with her totally ruined the mood the whole household despite being states away #called her and my first reaction was girl no way where did she get the audacity from not just that but her daughter kept trying to reach ou #to her too and then we moved on some toxic friends that i've had because we were talking about how it's better to sometimes walk away from #some people and she started teaching me how it's imp for me to control my anger and just let go of people because that anger will only hurt #me to how men are so shitty from the older guys of her age to the ones who're my age and how most of them are just getting worse in terms o #behaviour so even if i ever wanted to date them it's just too difficult and hopeless out here to how we don't like one my sister's friends #so yeah

Okay, so, I just got back from my convention weekend. This year was a tiny, tiny bit underwhelming, to be honest, and I realized I picked the wrong boots for my cosplay the second I arrived because the sole basically burned a hole in my foot and now I have like 10+ blisters. I was trying hard not to cry for 8 hours straight. (Let this be your reminder to test-walk new shoes before you wear them somewhere).

Needless to say I didn’t get around to taking a proper pic of my Wanda cosplay—no surprises there—but I did take a pic of my trial run a couple weeks ago, and I’m just gonna post that, even though it feels strange posting myself wearing something like that. I’m usually a very insecure person, so even wearing that in a crowd of people was a lot for me—but then someone asked to take a picture because they loved my cosplay 🥹 and that makes me feel kind of proud of myself, so I’m gonna post the pic.

I also found two Daredevil comics!! They’ll fit perfectly on my little Daredevil shrine.

That’s all I got, but I’m happy with my finds! It’s surprisingly hard to find good Daredevil stuff at GFCC (even with Born Again only three months away), but I think that’s mostly because it’s not nearly as big as some of the conventions in the US. Well, maybe next year.

And maybe next year, they’ll be able to get Charlie again so I can finally get that autograph I was too broke to get two years ago. Maybe. Finger’s crossed.
