last year we subjected our characters to the hell of the Hunger Games— and this year, we’re putting them through hell again! although, hopefully murder-less. Welcome to Bards High, the official hamserver summer 2024 roleplay. where we take our favorite little guys (including a certain childrens’ cartoon icon??) and force them to go through the highs and lows of the American Educational System! no, i have no idea why it’s in america. we unanimously decided, i suppose (freedom democracy oil 🇺🇸🦅🔥) it’s shaping up to have so much fluff, suspense, good banter, gay pining, not-gay pining, missing parents, dead squirrels, and DRAMA already, and i can’t wait to see what WILD things we come up with this time around.

although, i may have gotten a little ahead of myself with the “no murder” part. this is a shakespeare-themed rp, after all…

Hunted hybrids [hhau]

hermitcraft s8 got code-attacked and all the hermits got scattered into different worlds, lost and stuck in unfamiliar places, not knowing if their home still exists. the au follows scar and grian who ended up in the same world (although originally unaware)—a world dangerous and hostile to hybrids. grian is an avian, scar is a vex, and they're hunted relentlessly. also, it's permadeath <3

Boatem circus

scar, a sea-lion hybrid, builds a circus as a safe haven for all the hybrids and misfits that have nowhere to belong and need a place to heal. they all carry their own traumas and wounds, and scar gives them what they never had: gentleness and options and freedom to roam or leave. but it's not easy, navigating a growing community of varying triggers and buried pasts.

Sleep demon Grian

grian is a sleep demon, existing in the dreamscape, able to manipulate dreams and thriving on giving people nightmares. he meets scar in a dream, immediately intrigued and amused by his reactions, and he keeps coming back to him. scar, despite all the nightmares being thrown at him, catches a glimpse of his perpetrator, and grows curious in turn. they start talking, everything eventually culminating into a ritual and a summonning circle. grian, in the waking world, needs to learn how to exist somewhere where he can get actually hurt, and come to terms with the fact that he has locked away memories and trauma.

Cursed forest

found family boatem, where each of them carry their own heavy past and an attached curse. they thought they'd never find a place to settle that'd accept them and let them heal. but they found each other, deep in a hidden away forest, littered by bones and flowers, death and hope. Ari au

grian (he/she) is ariana giande (ari), a famous singer beloved by the crowds. except things start getting a bit too out of hand. there are stalkers and people who think they have the right to ari's personal life, the right to see and dictate everything. the press gets out of hand. maybe the crowds get too rowdy. maybe—

more scared and overwhelmed by the second, grian gets a bodyguard. that bodyguard is scar. things continue to escalate though, and by the time ari calls a break in her career, everything's irreparably breaking down around her.

(If it wasn't clear yet, this is one very dark, very heavy, very human story. There's love and so, so, so much despair. Things go wrong and then worse.)

Half sea town au

a town half-submerged into the sea. the upper half is reserved for humans, who are seen as better, richer, the posh and the nobility. the lower half, the submerged part, is slum-like, reserved for seafolk, seen as lesser. many seafolk learn to live on land, to improve their standing (not necessarily living situation; they do need water). mumbo lives amongst the nobility. scar lived his whole life in the sea. grian, even though he belongs to the seafolk, lives on land. mumbo's best friend, forever trying to be something he isn't.

Ghost Hunters v.s Cursed Spirits and Oh! There’s Jujutsu Sorcerers || Closed Horror RP

After learning so much and got to be on her own while her fraction, the DBT are in New York. Taz is going to get her first mission as a Jujutsu Sorcerer soon with the trio, Megumi, Nobara and her big brother Yuji. She was told by Gojo that she’s ready and will be supplied with a cursed tool. A knife. 

She was getting pastries from the bakery. She was running errands for Gojo since he wanted some sweets. Taz knows what would he like since she got a sweet tooth herself. Much to Nobara and Megumi’s dismay, not wanting their sensei taking advantage of Taz but Taz doesn’t mind it. She likes running errands because it reminds her running errands with her friends as she loves going out and buying pastries for herself and her friends.

One day, she brought cakes at the cafe and then she overhear something that made her eyes blink. 

“So....this place is haunted. Let’s check this out!” It came from a table next to the window. 

“A hotel? Oh that’s perfect!” 

Taz looks over to the group that are sitting down at the table. Three boys and three girls. All of them looked older than her and her friends at Jujutsu High. Megumi calls them college kids. But she continues to listen them as they discussed that this get them more views equaling more money if they board cast this live. 

“Hmmm....” Taz said.

“We need to sneak past the guards to get inside.” Said one of the girls. 

“Don’t worry! Just pay them off and they listened.” Said boy who smirks. “As your captain, I make sure our broadcast is greatest one yet. This place is haunted and probably has a lot of ghosts based on witnesses. One time, a bunch of high school kids went missing when they’re trying to open a door.”

Haunted. Ghosts. People went missing.

Does this mean....

“Now let’s go ghost-hunting.” Said the captain of the group as his fellow ghost hunters cheered, ready to do this.

IT'S EMMA ANGST HOURS

you know, I've written an awful lot of female/feminine characters that are treated harshly or without respect from their male/masculine counterparts. Emma is probably the biggest example of this, where she, the "only girl" in her Gup group, is often scolded like she's a child or protected from the outside world because she's too "fragile" and "weak". boy I sure hope this doesn't mirror past experiences i've had as someone who's grown up as a girl and OH WAIT IT DOES

The most tragic part of it is, no matter how much Emma tries to hold her own, she's just not able to get to that level of independence that other characters like Rosemary and Polly have, or hell, even Dashi and Tweak from the actual source material

Emma's the most held-back character I've probably ever written, period, and ESPECIALLY the most held-back lady

She's held down by her own self-confidence some of the time, but most of that is direct result of the constant misogyny, babying, and general disrespect by the people she's closest to. Regardless of if them mean it or not, it's still disrespect

Shane, he/him. I don't know how to make an intro post, so I just I guess tell you a bit about my life.

A little bit about me: I am turning into a crocodile because I went through a bit of a teenage phase where I drank the Bile, but I'm over that now. I used to be Stetriol's prince before I lost a world-wide war and became the single most hated figure on the face of the planet. So that was a bit awkward. But I'm trying to be better. I'm also trans and I have infinite saber swag.

A little bit about my family: They're all dead. My sister, Drina, was killed by her own spirit animal. My father killed his own spirit animal, and Zerif's spirit animal killed him. (Hate that guy. Boo!) And my beloved mother also eventually succumbed to the bonding sickness. My uncle, Gar, spent my entire childhood trying to wrest control of the throne and pretended to be bonded to my own unbeloved spirit animal. My family might be a tad bit cursed, but fuck it, we ball. She isn't really family, but my tutor, Yumaris, became a worm.

Miscellaneous little things about me: I hate the color purple (don't bring that vile shit near me), I hate that stupid trend of asking a loved one "Would you still love me if I was a worm?" because Yumaris loves to ask me that at the most inconvenient times (like when I'm giving inspiring speeches to my Redcloaks before an important battle), I have a weak spot for archers for some reason, I occasionally rub against trees to shed excess scales, I've recently developed a taste for bloodred jewelry, such as earrings and necklaces, and I tried to kill all the snakes in Stetriol once (I'm pretty sure it's possible, haven't you heard of that one Euran region that has no snakes whatsoever?).

Anyway, I guess I'm just trying to see if anyone relates to me or my experiences (I mean, we all make mistakes as teenagers, right?) so feel free to talk to me through the official Redcloak Ksenian crow messaging service. I want my Redcloaks to feel that they can criticize my leadership without fear, so I have decided that you are not required to tell me who you are.
