I've been thinking about what it might have been like if blond Peter Parker didn't die, like, if he got to mentor Miles, cause screw canon, I do what I want. (context; everything else happens, Peter B, Gwen, Noir, Penni, Spider Ham still show up. Goober still breaks. Rush to shut down the collider, etc. all that still happens, Blond Peters still there though)
the thought first and foremost in my mind, is that while in a playful manner, he is very protective and almost possessive of miles, in the "this is my kid from my dimension, I'm his mentor, he's my responsibility, I've had him for five minutes, but so help me god, anything happens to him I'm killing everyone here and than myself, look at him wrong, I will fight you" type of way, all the while keeping a friendly smile on his face, even if its slightly unnerving.
teases Miles about Gwen and his little crush on her, while also not exactly playing match maker cause he knows they're gonna be separated shortly. its a bittersweet thing for him.
he praises Miles so so so often, like, whenever he does anything, cause he knows Miles is scared and a kid and he needs to know he's doing a good job.
tries to protect his childhood and innocence, not wanting him to feel like he has to take up the mantle of spiderman just yet. always telling Miles that he "always gets up" cause he doesn't want Miles to feel like he has the responsibility of replacing him on his shoulders. this comes up more and more as they set out to destroy the collider.
always has a hand on Miles, mostly on his shoulder, so he knows his kid's fine and his kid knows he's not alone. he also does the forehead stroke, where he rests his hand on Miles's head and strokes his thumb over the center of his forehead. also also, he rests his elbow on the kids head, I don't know why, I just know he's that type of guy.
they hug a lot, mostly in the moment, when neither of them are really thinking. he just pulls miles into his side and squeezes him, which Miles ends up turning into real hugs after a while.
does the worried dad "check over" every time they escape a conflict. always asking if he's ok or just staring at him, trying to make sure he's ok. basically, he's a big worry wart.
"kid/kiddo" and "punk" are go-to's
when Miles is anxious, he stands closer to him, only touching when Miles leans into him.
held Miles when his uncle died, not letting him go through it alone.
gives him the "leap of faith" talk, alongside many other pep talks, cause the guy is good at those, before the collider, and gets to watch from a distance as Miles comes into himself as a spider man.
tries to keep Miles from the collider anyway, cause the stakes are too high, and he wouldn't be able to live with himself if anything happened to Miles.
isn't surprised when Miles shows up anyway.
still has a near-death experience, leaving Miles to be the one to take down Kingpin, send everyone home, and shut down the collider. He wants to give up, badly, he's tired, but Miles needs him, is begging him to get up, just this one last time, and then Miles would be spiderman. Miles has to half drag him out to the streets.
he'd bring him to his dad, cause he's a kid, and the one person he's been able to lean on in this shitshow is half dead, and he's scared, so he finds his dad and comes clean out of desperation, begging him for help.
is one of the only people Peter actually wants to see while recovering, he stays at the hospital night after night just so he can be there for Peter, like Peter had been there for him, not letting anyone drag him out until after he's woken up, and even then, it's like pulling teeth to get him to so much as go to the caf to eat.
he spends whole days with Miles teaching him to cope with his spidey sense, use his webs, etc.
keeps him away from the big things, but lets him help out on patrol to give him a taste of the action.
takes hits for him, even if Miles tells him not to, cause that's his kid, and that's just what "dads" do.
when Miguel tries to recruit Peter, Peter is extremely protective of Miles, especially when he finds out he's technically an anomaly, making sure no one hurts him or undo any of the work he's done in terms of making Miles confident in himself and his abilities.
is in support of trying to save everyone, no matter what canon says, as he's literally the parental/mentor of a whole-ass anomaly and knows Miguel's theory is crap or at least mostly crap.
once everything sorted out, Spot and Miguel and Earth 42 wise, he ends up taking Miles 42 in as his own as well, and sticks around with Miles as (at least in my head, cause I say so) he stays with Miguel and HQ to be recruited.
Miles tells Miguel that Peter will ignore his own well being and pushed himself past his limits to protect Miles, because he thinks if he shows Miles weakness, the kid will feel like he has to replace him and will get stressed out/abandon what remains of his youth. he makes Miguel bench the two of them when Peter's not doing so hot so he can recover physically and emotionally.
Peter eats over at the Morales household once a week, assuring Miles's parents that he's safe with him every time.
insists on making Miles a suit for the colder months that's a little more cold resistant and when they're not in the suit, he's literally throwing coats at him.
kinda takes up the place in Miles's life that his uncle once held, being his safes pace, the person he turns to when it all goes to shit.
goes to Miles's school events.
if Miles falls asleep somewhere, like at HQ, Peter goes on guard like any dad, putting himself between Miles and the people around them so his sleep goes undisturbed.
do y'all want more of this, I might go somewhere with it if it does well.

i like thinking of ripeter as a teacher of some sort because i like the thought of him accidentally using his teacher voice on people he doesn’t mean to as Spider-Man, including but not limited to, other vigilantes that are literally older than him, the most unhinged villains that shouldn’t be provoked further, his own civilian friends and coworkers, animals he rescues, the police (okay he probably does mean it here), his aunt may (oops), and his computer when it’s being slow. Spidey stops you from getting stabbed because he told your attacker “123 Eyes On Me” and it distracted them long enough. And nobody believes you when you tell them that.

Was going to doodle a werewolf AU Miguel design because it would be stupid easy, but then I got blindsided by the 1610 boys. Peter-1610 was a real one.
I feel like werewolf stuff is kind of my brand (unintentionally) even though I never upload any of it here. Bonus: a kitty

(Miles, he looks like Abuela for the same reason you do.)

Ok these are my spiderverse age estimations Currently. I might’ve missed some context clues in the movie so feel free to correct me/share your thoughts but this is what I have so far. (Edit: I have an updated list!)
Bc of the year and a couple of months time jump, the ages are most likely:
- Mayday, math wise, is 7mo. at the oldest. Idk baby ages so that could be plausible.
- Peni is probably 12/14, there’s a good argument for either 11 or 13 for the first movie.
- Miles is 15/16
- Margo seems to be about the same age as miles so 15/16
- Gwen is a confirmed 15 mo. older than Miles so 16/17
- Pav is probably Gwen’s age so 16/17
- Hobie seems a bit older than Gwen so probably 17/19ish
- Depending on what point in noir's story he’s coming from(bc we rlly don’t see his face), the man is probably 27/28 on the older side and 18/20 on the younger side. Personally I’m taking the younger side, and I can explain in detail Why I think that. (Edit: I have!! If you’re interested go check it out Here!)
- RIP Peter is still a cool 26
- Ben Reilly is probably about the same age 24/26
- Jessica Drew is probably late 20s so 27/29 but I could see her being younger.
- Miguel is probably early 30s so 32/34. The man was a scientist before spiderman and we seem to be decently into his storyline by the time the movie happens.
- Peter B. Is 39/40
- Spider ham is like 54. “2 days?! Hahaha, I’ve been spider-ham 30 fucking years.”

I think one of my favorite things about Across the Spiderverse is that, if you pay enough attention, you realize that Miguel's logic makes zero sense.
Earth-42 Miles never became Spider-Man like Miguel says he was supposed to, Gwen's dad quits the force (thus preventing his supposedly inevitable death as a cop), and Peter B only decided to have a kid because he met Miles, which, according to Miguel, was never supposed to happen.
All three universes are very obviously not destroyed, nor do they seem likely to be destroyed any time in the near future. So either:
A. Earth-1610 Miles was always supposed to become Spider-Man (thus allowing Peter B to meet him) and Gwen's cop who dies is just someone else, with her father being a red herring.
OR
B. The other option, which I think is both much more likely and much more interesting: Miguel is inherently wrong.

I often sit and stew in rage and this is one of those days.
RIPETER WAS A PERSON. He had a life outside of Spider-Man. He had a family and loved ones. He had problems. He was a human being. He shouldn't be minimised to his brand and the good he did. AND HIS DEATH DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE USED AS A TOOL TO GUILT TRIP A KID HE WANTED TO TAKE CARE OF IN HIS FINAL MOMENTS.
Every other spider-person got to know that they aren't the only spider-person to exist. They got to meet the spider society and learn that they aren't alone.
Ripeter didn't. He never knew there were others like him. The feeling of realising he's not the only one ONLY CAME WHEN HE MET MILES. He realised 'shit, there's actually others like me. This kid is like me.'
The spider society has each other. Ripeter only had this random kid he barely knew. But I'm sure miles still gave him that excitement of realising 'Oh my god, I'm not the only one. I'm not alone'
So yeah, Peter would've hated miguel if he knew what miguel said to miles. He was fine laying his life down knowing he doesn't have to get back up this time because there's finally someone to take his role. Someone to help protect the city when he's gone. He doesn't have to worry anymore because he was once like this kid and look how he turned out. He was probably still a bit worried about miles anyway.
So fuck you Miguel you little bitch. Can't believe you tried to use Peter's death against Miles. I hate you big guy.

continuing my "what if Blonde Peter never died" bs, cause I can.
I can't get the idea out of my head of Peter having a kid, cause Miles made him want to have a kid, plus him and MJ wanted kids to begin with, he was just the final push.
like, Peter having the "you know this kid will never, ever, replace you right?" talk
slipping him ultrasound photos and miles keeping them close cause that's basically his little sister
Miles helping paint the nursery, making a big mural.
Miles being the good kid he is and helping MJ throughout her pregnancy, like bringing her food from his mom, helping her clean, going out late at night to pick up her pregnancy cravings, etc.
the babies middle name being inspired by miles and/or Miles helping out pick a name
he totally assured Peter he was gonna be a great dad, cause the man was worried. he also offered to take up being spiderman, so he could retire (Peter vetoed that, hard, sorta. they and a long talk and came to a bit of a compromise)
Miles is their god father.
Miles being the first person to hold them, and being so bad at it and really nervous and looking to peter and MJ cause he's worried about hurting them, and peter just laughing before helping him out a little.
they taunt him with the photos from that day cause the pure terror on his face is priceless
he falls in love with the kid though, fast and hard, and it gets to the point where he won't put them down. he's always around when he's not in school, watching the kid
he calls her his little sibling, she calls him bubba
one time Peter and MJ went out for date night, and left the baby with Miles. when they came home they found them asleep in their crib and miles asleep sitting against it, holding their little hand through the bars. Peter cried.
he teaches the baby Spanish (tries to at least), and sings them the lullabies his mom sang him as a kid.
Miles doesn't have the baby touch per say, but he does with Peter's kid. he can get them to stop crying in a matter of seconds with a single funny face. he picks them up and rocks them for a few minutes and they're fast asleep. they'll eat anything he offers them, even if they've been throwing a good fit all afternoon.
gets them little baby Jordans
will converse in baby talk/gibberish
cries over every little milestone
Should I make more content about this AU?

ITSV au where Aaron gets bit instead of Miles.
CW: child death
Having to figure out how to navigate the spider powers as a grown ass man and how to hide it from people— specifically Kingpin.
Miles, for whatever reason, still goes down to the subway tunnel— maybe just to brood, or add more to the walls— and that’s when he sees the fight. And being a normal regular ass teenager, he doesn’t have the strength yet to barely survive just watching the battle ongoing like he did canonically.
Miles still promises to help Peter, because Peter is on the verge of death and Miles is trustworthy and right now, his only possible ally. Normally he’d never trust such a dangerous task to a child, but… yannow
Kingpin sees the kid running, Aaron gets ordered to kill him. Since Miles doesn’t have spider powers to give him an edge, Aaron catches up to him, or Miles gets severely injured at some point in the chase for other reasons.
Definitely fatally.
canon event /J
Aaron tackles Miles, who’s already wounded and stressed, and realizes who he is and unmasks himself. Miles’s horror once Aaron unmasks, his impending death, and the fact that Miles used his dying words to tell Aaron that he still loved him and he could still escape villainy makes Aaron realize the whole great power great responsibility thing, and he decides to covertly double cross Kingpin to shut down the collider— and then apparently get these random ass spider people that just keep showering up home to help.
It’s the world’s worst week for him.

The similarity and differences between Peter Parkers in these movies ( ones specifically named ‘Peter Parker’) is wildly fascinating to me
Welcome to the Peter essay (sorry no mla format)
The most obvious connection the movie wants you to make is between Ripeter and Pb. They are introduced one after another, they are one of miles’ biggest relationships in the film and both have their faces shown and out during most of it. Pb’s nickname literally is a reference to a -b list actor. He’s the second, not as good one.
Neither of the two meet but I’m so burningly curious what they’d even say to each other. It’s like staring at a warped mirror, your own face reflected back at you but it’s off.
We will never get these answers because this isn’t Peter’s story or movie and that’s a good thing. But that’s exactly what fanfiction is for. Anyways let’s talk about the other Peter that shows up in itsv.
Spiderman noir himself, in contrast to the first dynamic this one is barely even grazed. Mostly because noir doesn’t take off his mask besides one flashback and two they are so wildly different in comparison to Ripeter and him. He’s not standard spiderman all that but he also lives in a completely separate time period so it’s hard to see him as a Peter if he just did things differently or lived a bit longer but rather as his own entity entirely.
For the record I’m not going to be talking about lizard Peter as he’s got so little screen/ reference time in these films but it is important to note his insecurity, his vulnerability and the fact that this is most Peter’s experiences in highschool without powers. He’s an origin point but he is his own character as well.
Pb is jaded that is the best way to describe him, he’s self centered, self destructive, a cynical burn out who’s world weary, emotionally compromised and sarcastic especially before he gets his life back together. We don’t get much of Ripeter but the directors made him to be as competent as possible, snarky, determined, heroic, quintessential spider stuff, but he is tired, he’s trying but it’s not enough, he literally breaks down on a Christmas album he’s recording.Noir is “hard boiled, he’s rebellious, dramatic, hardworking but fight happy, chaotic and quick to adapt, genuine but suppresses his own emotions. He’s meant to be a love letter to those films but he’s got so much more to him than a couple gimmicks. The way he so freely says I love you and means it isn’t a trait either of the other spiders would do. It’s not indicative of the genre either.
The thing that connects all these people besides their names is the trait of being weary, ranging from being exhausted Ripeter to a straight up burnt out peter b. Noir is tired too but he’s not constrained the same way the others are, he’s tired of the tragedies that go on not the repetitive nature of being a spider for a long time,he’s angry. He loses everything but he lashes back at the world. The tiredness he feels motivates him in a way. Pb shuts down when the people he loves leave or die, he essentially regresses to being that same weird nerdy antisocial kid all those years ago. Ripeter doesn’t have any of his family and loved ones die or leave so he ends up being the one to leave them but you can see how he could very well be pb if that were to happen to him.
Lastly I wanna talk about their relationships to miles, being the only character to have interacted with all of them
Ripeter’s relationship is also interesting to look back in hindsight since the news that if he hadn’t been bitten, Peter wouldn’t have died hurts miles the most out of all the things Miguel says to him. Miles was a fan of Peter, not to the extent ganke was but he looked up to him and throughout the film he spends the majority of it trying to make good on Peter’s last wish/ words. He literally tries to emulate him, seen in the fact he buys a Halloween costume of his outfit when told to hide his face. Peter for his part is so relieved and happy to know he’s not alone, this event is likely what would’ve stopped him from being pb. He recognizes that there’s danger and doesn’t expect him to do things alone like he did, he wants miles to not have to go through what he had to. Miles ends up having to go through what he had to very intentionally ironically. But the way that Ripeter is and what he represents to miles is why Pb is setup for disappointment. The arc is wrapped up when miles uses one of his old suits and spray paints something new with it. Becoming a hero in his own right but having his legacy being the thing that backs it. The suit being critiqued in spider society is interesting because it can be read that he’s just a pale imitation, crudely painted over top of something he was never a part of. Something perfect that he ruined.
Peter b and Miles’ relationship is essentially the entirety of the first film, and to a certain point it’s half of the second too. Peter’s advice aren’t things you really wanna know as a superhero but they are valid. It’s boring and practical, not the flashy excitement miles was hoping for. In the end he does seem to take hold of it though judging by miles’ baby powder sponsorship. From initially ditching him to being his biggest advocate, Peter’s opinion shifts quickly for the kid. It’s an arc that resolves in the second movie when he literally has fixed his relationship and had a kid because of miles, one he’s absolutely crazy for. He becomes a pseudo father figure to him in a sense. One with a completely opposite approach to it than his actual father, miles in turn learns from both, the boring parts too. It’s why Peter’s betrayal hurts more, we don’t know his exact reasons but we know he doesn’t hold any actual malice towards the kid and he doesn’t agree with the chase either, their relationship will need repaired but I believe these two can do it.
Noir and miles don’t have a ton of one on one interactions but we do see the dynamic they have which is more than some. The way he regards miles and his situations are very interesting. The most obvious scene is when we get “surprise attack!” Where he is sparing with miles in order to get him ready for what kingpin has in store for him. There’s a clear difference between this scene and one where noir is fighting someone else or even miles fighting another spider, this isn’t noir beating up miles and taking his lunch money this is a warm up. He encourages miles even when he’s asking if he can close off his own feelings so that he doesn’t have to bear the weight of his morally ambiguous actions. He wants miles to be ready to be a spider, with all that entails. There’s a lot of unpleasantness that comes with it which isn’t something either of the other Peters truly bring up. When they all huddle together Peter brings up they are doing this right in front of him, sorta confused. I think it’s fun to see that noir personally probably would’ve just said the things he was thinking and concerned about to miles directly. His poor kid line from pb and miles argument sounds like he can relate to his feelings of frustration of wanting to do more but not being ready to. His reaction to miles freaking out over the fact that the prowler is his uncle is to say that’s a pretty hardcore origin story, not realizing that’s insensitive before peni elbows him. It’s like telling a kid that a scratch will heal into a cool scar. Making good out of bad. The last one is when he leaves, he in no uncertain terms, tells him that he loves them all. There’s no caveats to it, there’s no conditions there’s just unconditional support. Nothing in the second movie complicates this either, he is not in spider society. He never chases him,he never lies or sells him out and he is one of the first responders when miles is in trouble. It makes sense since he’s not in a lot of movie but miles’ relationships to other characters with similar screen time are actually wildly different.
Most of the Peter’s in this movie are dead, like half. Technically more than half of you think noir has been revived already in this canonicity. They’ve also got really confirmable ages. Pb is 38 in itsv, Ripeter is 26 when he died. To me noir is tricky but I always draw him in the 21-35 age range it’s funny if he’s young .
Tell me if I missed anything I have severe brainrot for this series in general
