Tiktok is disappearing, and we need a new IT girl of social media

Honestly, I am ready for the Tumblr resurrection, like, the internet's version of a midlife crisis. 🧓 The glory days of 2012-2016 were when I was a legend- posting absolutely incoherent text posts about crying over fictional characters and pretending I was deep when really I was just a 16-year-old who didn't know what a "healthy coping mechanism" was. But I THRIVED. 🌻

We were all just 12% self- aware, 88% posting to escape reality, and that was the vibe. When you could write an existential rant about a TV show and get a thousand notes, and now I'm out here getting zero likes on my grocery list. Let's be real: I was very much NOT, ok, but on Tumblr? I was flawless. I was UNSTOPPABLE. ✨

Bring back the days when your Tumblr theme was a work of art, and your sidebar GIF was a subtle form of self-expression that definitely didn't say, "Help, I need attention." (or maybe it did, who's to say?) I truly was a graphic designer, comp sci WIZARD- learning code just so my tumblr could match my true aesthetic.

If you were on Tumblr back then, you know what I'm talking about: endless reblogs of emo quotes, #justgirlythings, random memes, and having deep conversations with strangers about how the world was ending because of ONE. SINGLE. TWEET. (I miss my internet stranger friends...ahhh).

So I'm here for the resurgence. I may be older, but some things never change. So with Tiktok being banned its the tumblr girls, gays, and theys time to shine!!! LETS BRING BACK SOMETHING PURE, CHAOTIC, and a little bit cursed? It's time.

It kinda bullshit how our government is so key to this so-called “protecting our data”. Yet they’re the ones who want our data of what we watch, what we buy, what sites we go to etc. they already got us in our google account, youtube, facebook, instagram, and twitter. But when an app like tik tok comes along and it out does the apps service of the existing apps. It wants it as part of their share, and when they don’t get it. They ban it and try to replicate it. We already got snips of it from youtube, facebook and instagram of their so called reel/shorts feature when in doubt it was ripped from tiktok. And they’re still not succeeding well on that platform. 

I enjoy tiktok for what it is, yes it did have some flaws but it wasn’t much. Not like facebook from it horrible Aibots. What gets me the most is that the government truly shows its true colors of being what they are. Greedy, lying, anti-culture and religious cult mayhem. And when I say they’re so key to our personal online data, because that is where the money is. They would rather worry about that than trying to fix our economic system or anything that has to do with tiktok. Then shutting down online sex traffic, child porn being sold and hosted online, private hate groups that post of their targets of the people who they fear that could give people hope in the political government from the black community, lgbtqia community, latino community, and etc. 

Our government would rather lie to us than tell us that the Chinese government is a communist country just like North Korea and russia. When in doubt, our government is the ones who are the communist when it comes to not wanting to tell us the truth of what is going on around the world. Another thing about tiktok, it shows what is going on around the world before the news could take it and try to make it something else while hiding the truth. That is also another reason why they wanna ban it, the exploration of the truth. I like it when some of these political senators and governors get exposed of their greed or lies that have been dug up from their past or how racist they’re. That is one of the things I love about tiktok.

What is crazy about all of this, the American government thought that tik tok would just sell it to them, but they’re not. They are just going to close it out and let it get banned, because they know if they sell. They’re going to gain the america data and thrash it out, not only america, but rest of the world who also used tiktok. And now when it closes down Sunday (1-20-25). The American government isn’t going to get what they want. Here is a fun fact. Almost all the political people who invested into meta aka facebook and instagram are now losing their stock share money that they invest into meta. And they’re not happy about it either!!! So fuck’em for investing something they they through they would gain once they ban tiktok. 

I just wanna say, it was fun while it lasted. I will feel sorry for the content creators who used tiktok as their income. And I hope they bounce back on their feet Soon. Yeah, it's going to suck for them to use meta/google again but as long as they can make content for the entertainment side of things. I hope they do well. Then again, there is a rednote. I might sign up but I'm going to wait. I already deleted my twitter/x to jumpship onto bluesky which is very nice and safer. What it is, we the people will answer back to our government with our voices so they can know that they can’t control us or make us what we wanna do. It is our choice and our only choice not theirs. Tiktok helped me get through the day when covid-19 was at its worst time. But tiktok give us the light that help us to get threw while we help each other. Until then, goodbye tiktok and it was nice to have you around.

1. First post, I guess

Hello. This peppermint tea is nice. I guess I've made a page. My uncle and aunt have been telling me to create a blog for a long time. I'm not calling this my blog, but I'll probably post silly stories. As well as anything else I'd like since it's my page. Tiktok is being sent away and it's my favorite "turn my brain off and giggle" past time. The thing about a blog is I have to think and consider that someone I know might find this. I'll probably talk about my hyper fixations and hobbies and things that bring me joy. Schitt's Creek is playing once again. Every night. I'm so sleepy and would like to not write anything, but I left my journal in the car and it's the first day of my "soft 75 challenge" which is not something that I plan to keep up with. Realistically speaking. Part of that involved journaling every day even if its just write the date. It was my first day at work and I had to shovel my car out so that the plower(?) could empty the parking lot. I got my cardio in and then worked and moved more today than I have in weeks doing nothing but sitting at my mom's for 2 months. Then, I came to my room and while walking in with my coworker, B, we were admiring the snow and sky and sunset. It was stunning. The only part I hate is having to shovel and wanting to get to town an hour away to get groceries. ["Ew, it smells like pennies and burps!"-David Rose just said on my tv hehe] I did some light stretches and a little workout, a hot shower, had dinner and started typing. I don't know how to manage time yet. It's my first full day in >this state< in winter so I'm sure that I'll have time once I figure it out. I'm in an online class that I need to commit to, I have like 5 fun books I brought and 5 self help books to highlight and journal, I want to get into my meditation, prayer, exercise, sauna routine, I have my switch that I haven't touched in weeks, I want to socialize sometimes and some point but I'm also not sad if that one doesn't happen, and I have to make sure my precious cat(Faye) doesn't feel neglected.

Books that I have to read for the next few months: -Crescent City (almost done with book 1, have book 2 already, 3rd is final in series, fantasy) -Thrones of Broken Gods (second book in series, 3 are out so I have 1 more to go and I'll be fully caught up, fantasy) -The Secret Keeper (haven't started yet, historical fiction) -The Perfect Son (73% done, murder mystery) -Alone with You in the Ether (haven't started yet, romance) -I Thought It was Just Me, It Isn't (haven't started, self help) -Clearing emotional clutter (already read years ago and want to re-read but haven't started, self help) -The Untethered Soul and Living Untethered (read first one years ago and want to re-read. Second one is new. Self help/spirituality) -Get out of your own way (already read years ago and want to re-read but haven't started, self help)

Music I'll write a lot about: Sleep Token Jason Mraz Taylor Swift (but I don't identify as a swiftie) Harry Styles maybe (I'll miss watching you dance in your little sequin outfits)
