was kinda thinking about this when I saw Renee Rapp live recently-- I didn't know her visual vibe, I'd heard a few songs here and there but I hadn't really *seen* her, and her attire at Osheaga was really casual, a jersey (baseball/basketball?) and slacks. And that was so amazing! I couldn't help thinking, the work Billie Eilish has done for how women in pop music are allowed to dress is incredible. Seeing her up there all comfortable you just know that Billie walked in her oversized tops so that Renee in her slacks could run; Billie walked through all the critcisms about how she dressed slobbily and having to assert that she didn't owe anyone a display of skin, so that Renee could be comfortable and unquestioned running up and down the catwalk in front of 10,000 people. How iconic.
And I don't think we even realised at the time how much something as simple as letting Billie dress the way she as a (then-) 17-year-old teenager dressed, could end up meaning for a future generation of women in music.
Obviously there is still way to go, there were weirdos complaining about how 'plain' Dua Lipa's Glastonbury outfit was this year (in 2024!!), l have to ask, are you at Paris Fashion Week?? She is the musical HEADLINER of an entire day of music at one of the biggest music festivals in the world, and you can't grant her the space to exist as an artist, you have to moan about her dress not being excitingly revealing enough. There's work to do, it's still dismal out there. But the space Billie Eilish has created for a most ordinarily-dressed woman popstar is still heartening.
#music#rambling away; I'll log off#man. I remember how on the other hand when I was going to my first ever gig my guitar teacher said to me#notice how plainly he's dressed? No frills. His music speaks for himself.#(The musician in question was Slash and apart from his very recognisable hat and sunglasses; he was wearing a plain white t-shirt with a#minnie mouse graphic print in the centre. I think sometimes about how not even women in rock music are afforded that.#Like this is a thing across genres#With the exception of Franz Ferdinand for whom Alex has actually said in interviews that they treated FF gigs as nights out#and so dressed like they'd be dressed for a club night out--#most other guy bands are like *picked a tee off the floor*#whereas the girls in bands I've seen-- even literally just local musicians-- the girls in our local rock bands feel compelled to#dress like it's graduation day#Like we had this really cool local band-- singer's a girl in second year of uni#keeping up with the fact that they were playing like RHCP and Muse covers on stage; fast stuff--#she was up there in a delicate dress and heels and stomping across stage n all#and the rest of her band; dudes; were quite comfortable in their t-shirts#like of course she made a choice herself and was more than capable of stomping in heels--I mean I've seen Phoebe from Lambrini Girls#JUMP OFF a 5-ft platform stage while wearing 3-inch block heels. And in a party dress!#But then again Lambrini Girls genuinely are freaks of nature and I envy anyone who's going to see them open for Amyl & the Sniffers rn#bc that's an EXPLOSIVE combo. Nonetheless. I was saying.#Part of it certainly comes from a normalisation of just superhuman strength; balance + praying there's no malfunction with your skirt#which DOES happen at rock shows more frequently than you'd imagine. It's just if you're in a good crowd they'll pretend they saw nothing#but it's certainly more practical to gig in sneakers and trousers lol. From experience!#billie eilish#renee rapp#women in music#pop music#dua lipa#Also like Billies doing it for the pop lesbians#lesbian

As a performer, and someone who regularly has good things to say, how have you dealt with your singing voice? I'm nonbinary, and sometimes hate how deep my voice is because it's one of the predominant reasons people misgender me. It keeps me from singing sometimes as well, even privately to songs I've loved forever (I did perform "Under the Bridge" by RHCP at a public karaoke event last year, but I can't bring myself to watch the recording of it even though everyone applauded) I guess it's a specific kind of dysphoria?
I know when it comes to voice training you've been very vocal (pun intended) about it being a choice. And I've had some voice training but as an enby I prefer my speaking voice to be either neutral or natural. But talking and singing are kinda different, so I'm just curious to get your take on feeling more confident and less bothered singing as a trans person?
when i was a kid my dad told me i sucked at singing. he was a singer and a guitar player and i looked up to him so i internalized that deeply. but i didn’t stop singing because i just loved it. it felt good to sing. i would sing along to all the disney movies. i would sing songs at church. i was that little kid who was always humming something everywhere i went because i loved music and i loved making music. i didn’t think anyone would care to hear me sing because i had been told that my singing didn’t sound good but nothing in the world was gonna stop me from enjoying it for myself.
eventually as i got older people started telling me that i actually was pretty good at it. i didn’t necessarily believe them but i at least heard it from someone else. and then i tried recording myself singing into the shitty microphone that laptops had back in 2007. and wow, it sucked. like it reaaaaally sucked. it sucked to hear myself cause i had never heard myself recorded before. it sucked to hate what i hear and feel like maybe my dad was right the whole time. and i closed the laptop and cried and went to bed.
but then the next time i opened my laptop, the recording was still there. and i realized that i had listened through about 1/4th of it before i had lost hope and on a whim, i decided to grit my teeth and listen through the whole thing. and almost all of it still sucked. BUT. for one brief moment, for only a line or two, i heard what i wanted to hear: a voice that sounded good to my ears, recorded through the shitty microphone, played through the shitty speakers.
and from that moment on, i knew that i was going to learn to sing because nothing in my life so far had compared to how i felt hearing myself for the first time sing in the way that i wanted to.
it’s been 17 years since that happened and i haven’t stopped singing because i just fuckin love it. there’s music in my soul and it’s gonna come out whether or not i want it to and whether or not it sounds good.
“but josie, this is about your love for music not about gender” no it’s about both.
when you realized that you could express your gender in the way that you already knew you felt inside, you knew it was right and you decided you were gonna fucking do it, damn whatever people say.
and that’s the thing about dysphoria and why people have such a hard time describing it to each other. dysphoria comes from when you feel like the way your gender is perceived doesn’t line up with how you want to be perceived. when i have dysphoria, it’s not because i don’t look like a woman to the people who look at me, it’s because of how i see myself.
present your gender however you want and do it for yourself. and sing your goddamn heart out because you want to. damn whatever people say.

Kurt & Courtney at Kurt’s mother, Wendy O Connor’s house on a Sunday afternoon.
Aberdeen, Washington.
December 22nd, 1991.
Hole was scheduled to play a show at Portland Underground in Portland, Oregon this day, Opening for the Smashing Pumpkins. They dropped out of the lineup. This show would have been their last gig of 1991.
5 days later on December 27th, Nirvana joined RHCP on their BloodSugarSexMagik West Coast Tour.
Kurt’s mother Wendy O’Connor was very fond of Courtney, in 1995 she talked to People Magazine.
“I adore her. She sacrificed a lot for Kurt, including her career almost. She was totally dedicated to helping him survive. She tried hard to be domesticated with Kurt. They truly loved each other.”

"And I don't ever wanna feel, like I did that day."
(under the bridge - RHCP)
But it's Remus when he was bitten.
It's Remus when his best friend told Snape about his condition.
It's Remus when he finds out Sirius is the traitor and killed James, Lily and Peter.
It's Remus when he's sat in his office 13 years later and sees "Peter Pettigrew" walking down the halls.
It's Remus when he's come to save Harry but Sirius is disappearing behind the veil.
But it's Sirius when his parents torture him for the first time.
It's Sirius when James and Lily have to go into hiding.
It's Sirius when he finds James dead on the floor.
It's Sirius when he chases after Peter, the actual traitor.
It's Sirius when he gets locked up for a crime he didn't commit and never would have.
It's Sirius when he sees Peter again and is reminded of James's dead body on the floor.
But it's Peter when Sirius enters James's life and they instantly click.
It's Peter when he was never as good as his friends.
It's Peter when Voldemort promises him respect and that he won't ever have to worry about being the last choice.
It's Peter when he's standing on the Potter's Porch, hand raised to knock on the door.
It's Peter when he cuts his own finger off to frame his "best friend".
It's Peter when he sees Harry for the first time.
It's Peter when he sees the black shaggy dog he saw many years ago.
It's Peter when Sirius and Remus confront and threaten him.
It's Peter when the Dark Lord no longer needs him and disposes of him.
And it's James when he's sat on his sofa with his wife after just having put their 1 year old son to bed.
It's James when he hears a knock on the door, thinking it's his friends coming round to check on them.
It's James when he gets up from the sofa and opens the door and is met by his oldest friend. But he's not alone.
It's James when Peter steps aside, mouthing "sorry" and then all he can say is
"Lily. Grab Harry and run."
And then there's a flash of green light and James is dead.

Seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers perform "Can't Stop" yesterday as part of the Paris Olympics' symbolic hand-off to LA gives me the perfect opportunity to tell you all something about the lineage of this song's very famous riff! So gather 'round!
Here's what you need to know: RHCP were not actually the first ones to officially release a song that sounded like this riff. Have a listen to this track by a band from Hamburg, Germany called the Cucumber Men, whose "Ich kenne den bruder" ("I Know the Brother") was issued as a single in 1996, around six years before "Can't Stop" ended up appearing on RHCP's By the Way:
youtube
So you obviously hear it, right? Both melody and guitar tone are *really* similar. And maybe you'd think, okay, this could just be a coincidence, though, right? I mean, people have incidentally made music that sounded remarkably similar to something else that had previously come out that they didn't know about. It happened with "Sweet Child o' Mine," didn't it?!
But here's a piece of info that thickens the plot: you know why these guys *also* chose to name themselves after a piece of produce? Because they actually started out as a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band! 🤯
So for years I thought I had this super interesting bit of trivia on my hands that most Americans and Wikipedia were both totally ignorant of. There was this band from Germany that idolized the Red Hot Chili Peppers who released an original single in the mid-90s, and then someone in RHCP or close to them became aware of that single, and then a bunch of years later, RHCP ripped it off to make "Can't Stop" themselves, which would become one of the most popular hits in their entire discography. Both crazy and pretty unethical!
But then one day I got some more crucial info that thankfully helped solve this whole mystery and ended up clearing RHCP of any wrongdoing. In *1985*, the Chili Peppers did a live performance in Germany on a nationally televised music program called Rockpalast, which you can watch on YouTube:
youtube
Here, at the very beginning of this set at the 1:30 mark, you can watch Flea open things up with the riff that would later go on to yield "Can't Stop"—around 17 years before the release of the song itself.
So in the end, the Cucumber Men likely had nothing to do with "Can't Stop." No one from RHCP had probably known about "Ich kenne den bruder," and even if they did, the idea for "Can't Stop" obviously originated with this riff that was played by Flea in this German set in 1985. What's far more likely is that at least one member from the Cucumber Men saw the Rockpalast set and decided to repurpose the opening Flea riff from it for their own band's single more than a decade later.
Fun adventure I just took you all on, though, right? 😅

@ourladyofomega posted this several days back and I thought I would toss my answers out there as well for it.
A game of First, Last, Next, and Favorite.
First concert: Rush, 3/29/1983, Signals Tour. I was in my teens, met up with some class mates that were going with me. They decided they wanted to go drink, chase girls and/or smoke. I was already a music geek, music nerd or music snob... any of those titles fit me... so I went in and sat down. John Butcher Axis was the opening band. I seem to remember they had one song that was pretty decent. I can’t describe how good Rush was. I really believe this was them at the top of their game. They opened with The Spirit of Radio and it just got better from there. Stuff like Tom Sawyer, La Villa Strangiato and YYZ and the incredible Neil Peart drum solo. They had a huge video screen in the background. When they played the song Countdown they had the Space Shuttle launch film playing in sync with the song. Truly amazing to see so much talent on one stage. And THAT was my first ever concert. I never did see my so-called friends during the show, and to be honest, I didn’t care once the music started.
Last concert: It’s been a while since I saw a show (mid 2000′s maybe?) and I can not remember which one of these shows was my last... but I saw a group of bands all one one record label. ALL, Someday I, Wretch Like Me and I thought another band, but I can’t remember who (Armstrong? Maybe?). The other possible last show was the bands From Ashes Rise, Breather Resist, Challenger and I think Strike Anywhere. 2004 I think? Damn I need to start going back to shows. Kids, marriage, work, life... all sort of got in the way for a while I guess. That and the lack of anyone to go with me back then. From those shows Someday I, From Ashes Rise and Challenger stood out to me as being really good. Most people probably haven’t heard of most of these bands.
Next concert: No idea at all, but it needs to happen!
Favorite concert: This depends on when you ask me. The first time I saw Fugazi was an amazing experience. Second time was awesome as well. Rush was fantastic (see above). Iron Maiden frickin’ ruled, especially when Eddie came out on stage. Ramones were super cool and fun to see. Lallapalooza 92 was great with Lush, Ice Cube, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Ministry and RHCP. I got hit by a flying cheeseburger during the Ministry’s set. Still wrapped and everything. No, I did not eat it. I have seen some amazing bands and some great shows.
I would ask @zelphafrost, @deliberatecontrarian, @pyretic-perfect-storm and really anyone else to do this too, but only if they wanted to and had the time.
Have a great day everyone! Stay safe, stay cool!

songs about hillel slovak
hillel slovak, rhcp's first guitarist, died in 1988, aged 26, due to an overdose. this death left a massive impact on the band, especially on anthony kiedis. during this time, he was addicted to drugs, spending almost all his money from shows to buy heroin. after hillel's death, the consequences of drugs truly hit him, especially after flea made the decision to leave the band unless anthony got sober. flea and anthony both suffered immensely from this death, but so did john frusciante. hillel was his hero, and learned the guitar part for every chili pepper song. this is why when the band were looking for a new member, john was the perfect fit. as hillel had such an effect on them all, it lead him to be mentioned and referenced across multiple songs. some of these include open / close ( which features a story about hillel ), this is the place, skinny sweaty man, me and my friends, feasting on the flowers, otherside, knock me down and my lovely man.

My Concert History: Foo Fighters UPDATED
Periodically I do a rundown of my concert history of seeing a particular artist. In 2018, I did my concert history of Foo Fighters, but since then I actually need to update the list. Timing couldn't be better with their show at Fenway Park tomorrow, which I'll be at...and have to update this list again! Here now is the update concert history since that 2018 history was published:
- WBCN River Rave 6/8/1997 @ Great Woods (Mansfield, MA)
I didn’t catch any of Foo Fighters’ shows in 1995-96, but I wasn’t going to miss out when The Colour and the Shape was released. Taylor Hawkins had just joined the band, and it was a few months before Pat Smear left the band. The WBCN River Rave also featured Matthew Sweet, Morphine, Fiona Apple, Porno for Pyros, Primus, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Moby just to name a few. Their set was mostly the songs off the first 2 albums. One of the highlights of the festival!
- HMV Records 11/1/1999 @ HMV (New York, NY)
Tumblr media
Me meeting Dave Grohl at their HMV in-store
Chris Shiflett had just joined the band. When There is Nothing Left to Lose was released, they did promotional blitz in NYC that included an in-store appearance at HMV. My ex-GF and I traveled down from MA to NYC for this. The band performed for about 40 min. mostly off the new album. Then the band signed copies of the new album and I got to meet them (read all about it here).
- WBCN Xmas Rave 12/1/1999 @ Orpheum Theater (Boston, MA)
Only a month after I got to meet the band, I saw them at the WBCN Xmas Rave, which also featured At the Drive-In and Ben Harper. They played about 13 songs, mostly hits and new album. Great show!
- 4/2/2000 @ Mullins Center (Amherst, MA)
They co-headlined a tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers (my first time seeing RHCP) with opening act Muse. Drove out to UMass Amherst to see this show. It was really cool to see the Foo Fighters in a much bigger venue, a preview of some of the arenas I’d see them in later. RHCP drummer Chad Smith came out and joined them on a second drum kit for “My Hero”.
- 7/3/2003 @ Hammerstein Ballroom (New York, NY)
Even though the band in retrospect isn’t a fan of their 2002 album One By One, its one of my favorites. Promoting the album, the band played 2 shows at Hammerstein with openers My Morning Jacket and Pete Yorn. They did quite a bit of the One By One album and during “Everlong”, a fan apparently proposed during that song!?!
- Fuse TV Special 6/14/2005 @ Fuse TV studios (New York, NY)
Technically this is not a concert I saw, but I’ll explain why it made the list. I was working at the music video cable TV channel Fuse in 2005 just as the double album In Your Honor had been released. The band was doing a promotional blitz in NYC and stopped by Fuse to do a live performance 7th Avenue Drop show. I tried to go down to see them, but even as an employee and knowing so many people, I wasn’t able to go to the studio due to the capacity limit. But my friend who was working there, managed to get Dave Grohl’s guitar pick for me! Hence it being listed here even though it wasn't an official show I saw.
- 10/14/2005 @ Continental Airlines Arena (Rutherford, NJ)
My girlfriend (who became my wife) and two friends made the trek to NJ to see this co-headlining tour with Weezer and opening act Hot Hot Heat. This was a fantastic show, but the big highlight of the night was when they brought out special guest Roger Taylor of Queen, who played drums on the cover of “Tie Your Mother Down”, which Taylor Hawkins sang on. So much for “Never Meet Your Idols”!
- 8/21/2006 @ Beacon Theater (New York, NY)
In 2006 they went on an intimate acoustic tour of theaters. I went to the Beacon Theater show with Frank Black (of The Pixies) opening. Further musicians they brought on this tour included Rami Jaffee (who became an official member in 2017), Petra Haden, Drew Hester and returning Foo Fighter Pat Smear, who officially returned as a member in 2010. It was almost like an episode of Storytellers as Dave Grohl talked about some of the songs and their meaning. Very special show!
- 2/19/2008 @ Madison Square Garden (New York, NY)
After the release of Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, the band began playing much larger venues. At this MSG show, Serj Tankian (of System of a Down) and Against Me! opened. Some of the additional musicians who played the 2006 acoustic tour came out for an acoustic section of the show that included the very first Triangle solo in MSG history from their percussionist.
- 11/13/2011 @ Madison Square Garden (New York, NY)
By the time of 2011′s album Wasting Light, Pat Smear was back as an official band member. For their NYC show at MSG, the openers were The Joy Formidable and Social Distortion. They brought out a few special guests: Bob Mould of Husker Du played on “Dear Rosemary” and “Breakdown” (the Tom Petty song); and Joan Jett came out and did her song “Bad Reputation” with the band. The band also did Pink Floyd’s “In the Flesh”.
- 7/19/2015 @ Fenway Park (Boston, MA)
Tumblr media
Obligatory concert selfie of me and my friend Tim with Foo Fighters behind us!
After the 2014 album and HBO series Sonic Highways, I hoped Boston would be an upcoming episode / recording. While on tour to promote the album, just a few weeks earlier, Dave Grohl broke his leg onstage, so for the remainder of the tour he performed on a throne. Even if he was sitting the whole time, it was one hell of a show (read my concert review here). Openers were Royal Blood and Dropkick Murphys. Highlights of the show included Grohl’s surgeon Dr. Lew Schon, who came out and sang The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” with the band; a brief cover of The Cars’ “Let’s Go”; a cover of Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure”, and Godsmack’s Sully Erna joining for Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”.
7/21/2018 @ Fenway Park (Boston, MA)
Tumblr media
my friend Ron, Wally the Green Monster and me at Fenway Park
Tumblr media
Taylor Hawkins onstage with Foo Fighters
My second time seeing them at Fenway Park, but this show was very special because I won a contest and got tickets to the show and got to stay at the nearby Verb Hotel and also earlier in the weekend I got to see Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett doing a solo show at City Winery. I wish I could have this experience more often to get to see a musician in a small intimate setting and then see them rock out in a stadium with a band (read my concert review here). My buddy Ron came up and we had a great time! Openers included Boston's The Monsieurs (who I interviewed earlier in the month) and UK's The Struts. Highlights of this show included a cover of Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure" with Taylor Hawkins singing along with The Struts singer Luke Spiller, the band doing a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" musically while singing Van Halen's "Jump" along with producer Greg Kurstin on piano, and Grohl's daughter Violet (12 at the time) on back-up vocals. Looking back it was one of the best Taylor Hawkins' performances as he also did a drum solo.
Boston Calling 5/23/2023 @ Harvard Athletic Complex (Boston, MA)
Tumblr media
Foo Fighters on stage
Tumblr media
me in my happy place: watching Foo Fighters
I attended Day of the 2023 Boston Calling festival (read my review here). Foo Fighters' headlined that night of the festival. This was a little over a year after the passing of Taylor Hawkins and only a week after they announced new drummer Josh Freese. Much of this show was about the band breaking in Josh but remembering Taylor. They paid tribute to Taylor with Dave singing “Cold Day in the Sun” (which Taylor sang) and to my surprise they performed “Aurora” because it was Taylor’s favorite Foo Fighter song (I haven’t seen them do that song live since 2003). For “Shame, Shame”, Dave introduced his 17 year-old daughter Violet. The highlight of the night (that got national attention from numerous news and music outlets) was Taylor’s 17 year-old son Shane guest drumming on “This is a Call”.
Tumblr media
Me just hanging out with Mr. Chris Shiflett in 2018
In addition to all of these shows I recounted, I also saw Dave Grohl with Them Crooked Vultures in 2009, Taylor Hawkins with the Coattail Riders in 2006 and 2010, and Chris Shiflett in 2018.
After I see tomorrow's show I'll have to update this concert history!

Why Mike stopped taking his shirt off after 1991? ;-) It's a shame, really. They are two shows from 1995 when he did it, but unfortunately they're crappy quality.
Anon, are you ready for pure unfounded speculation? Are you prepared for armchair psychology at the expert level? Ok? Here we go!
I will be the first to admit that I haven't read/seen a lot of Mike articles/interviews from the 90s, and especially not from the early 90s, so he or a journalist may have covered this question in even a roundabout way and I wouldn't know...but....my guess is that it has a lot to do with both the shot to stardom Mike experienced with the release of TRT and the changes in his body from AD onward. I really don't think Mike knew what was coming when they started touring for TRT. I think the dude gets hot and sweaty easily and knows he looks pretty good with his shirt off, so he takes it off. And then he was 'hunk of the month,' and then the groupies showed up, and then really obsessive groupies show up, and then he sees what the guys in the other bands on tour are doing with those groupies, and he thinks to himself...'no...I don't want that.' And through all that, the TRT tour slogs on for like what...more than 2 fucking years??? By 1991 even, as far as I remember, he doesn't take off his shirt too often? With the Bungle tour, there weren't nearly the massive stadium crowds, and Mike was with his childhood buds, so he probably felt more comfortable to be his zany, sweaty, different levels of undressed self. By the time Day on the Green rolls around, Mike's in gas station attendant mode and he doesn't look back, for the most part. He still gets hot and sweaty though, and whenever you see him with like, an open shirt, or in a tank top, or maybe even shirtless from then on...it's probably like 100 degrees on stage and he'll die of heat exhaustion otherwise (or...he's fucking pissed off and needs to get back at RHCP).
So that's the big thing....the other thing is that I do think Mike is a little self conscious of his appearance (yes, even in his crazier getups), and, honestly probably from the stress of fame and touring, and just...not being in his early 20s anymore, his physique changes a lot at the end of the TRT tour through like...1998...maybe even early 1999? He loses a lot of muscle mass and gets really, really thin by 1996. So even if he might be feeling comfortable, say on the DV tour, he's got t-shirt on. After that...it's a little hit or miss, like I think he's a little more comfortable in his body, but I also think he's still carrying the memory of his big fame days and has to temper showing it off with little cute crop tops, or being at a Zorn performance.
So there you have it...we all think Mike is just gorgeous and that....kinda freaks him out....

playlists for my redacted babes (repost)
i actually just got into the fandom a month ago and kinda just binged listened erik's vids buuut! this is how i depict guy, david, sam, caelum and milo in music because i can and wanted to (there will be more in the future)
pizza guy
i headcanon him as a band/theater kid shrugs so i may or may not have added some...musicals in the playlist
but i mean come on, look at me in the eye and tell me he really loves to sing the lyrics to "sexy" by mean girls. look at that little menace and then to me.
his favourite song is sincerely me btw
dabey wabey, our little fiance,
i know he loves crazy by gnarls barkley ONGG
probably listens to it in the car while waiting for angel to finish their shift.
he’s the type to tap on the beat on his steering wheel aswell because he’s mysterious like that
our little derek hale's twin here definitely DEFINITELY likes those jazz kinda stuff like this is the lost generation by the lost generation) to make him look more like a mysterious man.
(will add more songs like that soon!)
sam cowboy collins
unironically added some country music (the catchy songs)
and ALSO HE DEFINITELY LIKES RHCP. TELL ME IM WRONG | DARE YOU.
but i do think some songs doesn't really fit him, but at the same time i do think it does.
he's kinda like those 50-60's rock and roll type of guy too or he just turns on the radio and listen to whatever (similar to david)
milo (the drink)
okay in all honesty, i don't know if i'm right with the song choices here and i'm quite sad about it…
but i do think his music taste is a little similar to asher's, just a bit.
he sounds like the punk/2000's rap loving kinda guy but his whole vibe really gives off deftones.
oh yeah his favourite song is cupid's chokehold. it's fucking canon in my head.
caelum my sweetest babyboy
he's my kin so he gets all the mitski songs teehee, so imagine this playlist is him having the best time of my life!!!!
he definitely would love mitski and just anything that reminds him of the sweet times he and david had together, i don't make the rules.
the whole playlist is kinda depressing to be honest
but i'll try to add some more happy happy songs for when he feels excited when he notices he had untied some knots!
ivan (sadism’s hold)
oh no.
had an awfully little time to make this one. i really just tried to pick up the sadism's hold vibe, kinda creepy aura of music!
and some songs that make me want to scream (drunk walk home)
i'm actually kind of proud of this one tbh, i had the right (in my opinion) songs for ivan but yes! :)
everytime i talk about my playlist of him, i keep thinking of the song caravan because i feel like both the movie whiplash and sadism's hold are similar to me. the psychological stress and manipulation are so fascinating. the ending to whiplash and how ivan manipulates the listener comes out so natural and realistic, it can't be seen unless you really open your eyes and see the dark side on things. it makes you forget what had happened and the process throughout it that made andrew and the listener become like how ivan/fletcher wanted them to be. and the way it makes you give in and think it's completely okay and comforting and safe because it was what you have loved and/or what you have been needing. the whole thing with the psychology behind it makes it so eerie but interesting.
——————————————
but please do check out my spotify profile for some more playlists and maybe you can be updated when i add another character playlist
so that's it so far :)! i'm still new to the redactedverse so i'm sorry if i'm not feeling it like how yall are feeling it ykyk, i was newly obsessed so i was itching. ITCHING. to make a playlist so yeah!! hope you enjoy! but please do be aware that this is my kind of music taste and i pick songs that i really like so it's okay if it doesn't suit your taste
