A couple of weeks ago I asked about people’s favorite book or books they read this year. Between Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and discord, I have a list of 123 books in no particular order that my friends and family loved this year. If it was a series then I listed the first book. Each star is an additional recommendation. I haven’t read all of these, they may or may not reflect my personal opinions, though my favorite books are on the list too. The most recommended books were How Far The Light Reaches by Sabrina Imbler, one or all of the Murderbot books by Martha Wells, and Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki, because if there’s one thing my friends have in common across platforms, it’s that you’re all nerds (affectionate). Enjoy, and I hope you find your new favorite book!

Some Thoughts:
-Maybe, in the RF world, fairies are real and walruses are mythical?
-I 100% believe that, if this debate swept through Rigbarth, Lucas and Terry would be patient zero. Cecil overhears them and starts asking everyone he runs into until everyone is talking about it and it takes on a life of its own.
-Alternatively, it's something Russell came up with and started rambling about while drunk out of his mind. It gains no traction in Kardia because Sabrina is just like "...Russell WTF?" and that's the end of that.

te..rfs are so fucking stupid imagine saying sabrina carpenter is dehumanizing herself because she uuuhhhhh let me check wears miniskirts sometimes and makes a sketch about not knowing/caring for sports
#no idea about the industry plant part I don't follow her and idc#she's also not for tweens. like her target audience is definitely not teen 🧍#they sound like those moms who bring their kids at her concerts and then are scandalized by her swaying her hips a little too much on stage#LMFAO

OBL Preview - Tohjo Trainers
Record: 23W - 26L - 1T
League: 8th, Myth Division: 3rd
The combined forces of Kanto and Johto started off Season 2 miserably with just 4 wins in their first 15 games. It was quite the gut punch, and the team spent the mid-season break trying to figure out how to fix their awful luck. Do they stick with the starting lineup they've put together early, or dig deep into their bench and bring out a completely new lineup to bounce back in the 2nd half?
Ultimately, they chose to rearrange the lineup, which was super effective. The Trainers tore through the first 8 games after the break with 6 wins, digging them out of the basement and making them contenders. Tohjo ultimately fell just 2 games short of the playoffs, but not before putting the entire league on notice that they can build an effective team with the pieces they have.
With one of the best batting averages of the league despite only playing in half the season, Bugsy proved instrumental in the turnaround for the Trainers. However, most of the team would point to Falkner as the heart of the offense, hitting 9 home runs over the course of the season. Clair also greatly improved over the second half of the season, though she would be the first to tell you her batting has a lot of room for improvement in Season 3.
That's not to say the Trainers only have their offense to thank for their U-turn last season. Blaine was a stalwart pitcher for the team, leading the league in strikeouts and pitching 6 complete games. Both he and Sabrina would end up winning 6 games apiece for the Trainers, and hope to give the team better chances for wins this coming season.

Activity Check
Two weeks have gone by, and the current activity period has ended! This post will be listing all of the characters who have and haven’t met their post requirements, as well as provide them with their pay and expenses for the last two weeks, so be sure to read this to collect/pay your bank, and to make sure whether or not your character is in danger of being dropped!
To pass, your character must have at least FOUR RP POSTS. Music, Money Posts, and Artwork don’t count for activity unless they have an RP component to them. If your character hasn’t met the post requirement, then they will fail. If they fail the subsequent check, then that character will be dropped from the Masterlist. Failed characters do not get the money bonuses from the Activity Check. Instead, they will only be awarded 500G and whatever expenses that applies to them (rent, commuter’s pass). Hopefully you’ll be able to keep up with your activity next go-round!
If you are a new arrival to the group (as in, you’ve joined during this activity period), then you will automatically pass. Additionally, if you are a new arrival and have made FOUR RP POSTS, then you will get full benefits of the check. If not, your character’s name will have a star next to it, and they will only get 1,000G for passing. This only applies to new arrivals that have been here for a majority of the activity period. If your character has joined in the week of the activity check, they will also be allowed full benefits. This is applicable for people with hiatuses, as well--- if you get off of hiatus and/or report back in within the week of the activity check, you will also be allowed a pass.
Here are the most recent community updates and announcements!
Please be sure to read the results below, and, if you’ve passed, apply these money changes to your bank account (via an activity marker post tagged as #pi:money and #pi:activity) according to which ones apply to your specific character.
The next Activity Check will be on Saturday, October 27th!

Sobhy the last American
After a great opening day, the hosts suffered a little on Day Two, with Amanda Sobhy the sole American survivor, after winning her all-USA match with Olivia Fiechter.
“I was struggling with a little niggle in my leg from San Francisco,” said 26-year-old Sobhy.
“So I didn’t really know what to expect coming here and whether I was playing or not playing, playing and making it worse. But this tournament means so much to me and I wanted to at least try, so no matter what happened I gave it a shot and tried my best. I’m pleased to win and move to the next round.
“Olivia has improved so much, I think in her first year she has jumped up like 110 spots. It’s nice to have another US player on tour as well and it goes to show the level that US Squash is at and that we’re really challenging the top girls.
“Myself, Liv, other Liv, my sister and Haley so it’s nice to have a good group of us challenging other countries that have been dominating for so many years. It’s hard playing one of your best mates on tour.”
