House Harkonnen reporting in! 馃挵 https://keyrelic.etsy.com
Solid Bronze Harkonnen Ram Artisan Keycap with RGB shine through eyes.
A homage to Dune II and Dune 2000 games from legendary Westwood studio. Dune II was a precursor for Real-Time Strategy games. For many, those games were the first contact with the Dune Universe and they still have a special place in our hearts.
House Harkonnen, also known as the Family Harkonnen, was a Great House of the Landsraad, with their capital on the heavily industrialized Giedi Prime. The Harkonnens were the historical enemies of House Atreides of Caladan, with whom they maintained an ancient feud since the Battle of Corrin. They also came to be recognized for their underhanded and sinister political tactics, fueled by ambition, malevolence, hatred, and brutality. 鈿滐笍Great for collectors: can be passed down from generation to generation.

Allow me to recommend you all a really good game rq
Do you like factory games? The prospect of factory games, at least, but think most are too complicated?
Do you like tower defense? Do you like it, but feel that there's not enough nuance? That everything could use a little spice? An ammo system, maybe? A power system?
Do you like RTS games? Tower defense RTS? Tower defense factory RTS?
Do you like mechs and robots? Neat music? The existence of conveyor belts?
Then you should try Mindustry!
Mindustry is a factory game with tower defense and RTS components. It has countless updates under its belt, and is a Very Solid 10/10 from me.
Even if you're not sure you want to play it; if you have a PC or android device, it's free!
(Steam version costs 10 dollars, itch.io download is choose-your-price. You can just get it on the play store for android. It's on iOS too, but the app store's policy combined with the small demographic means it has to cost money.
I literally bought the game just for the sake of paying for it. That's how much I love it.)
So try it! It's literally so fucking good!!!

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is an autistic fixation of mine. I don't play it often and I'm not very good at it, and it's not a very balanced game that, as I understand, was rushed to shit.
But two things:
GOD this game's aesthetic is fucking immaculate. there's something i seriously fell in love with about how this game sells the desolate, alien world that Earth has become in the story in its spritework, lighting and music. the look imho still holds up amazingly today even though it has goofy FMV, and i enjoy the FMV in its own right because of how unapologetically hammy it feels. it's something i think everyone should enjoy at least once. which leads perfectly into...
It's free. https://cnc-comm.com/tiberian-sun/downloads/the-game/installer
Tiberian Sun and its Firestorm expansion have been freeware since 2010 and is updated to be playable comfortably on modern PC firmware, including multiple different choices of renderer in case one doesn't work for you. it'll likely take a bit of finegling to get it to run well and not glitch out (for example, my pause menu likes to disappear when alt-tabbing, if i'm running DDrawCompat in windowed mode), but i think that it's worth it if you enjoy any kind of RTS.
this is by no means a perfect game, but i want to see people enjoy the game whose Vibes remain stuck in my brain like a foot-long rail spike.

I started a october challenge for myself, and since I am playing too much rts comp stomp these days, each day I will draw an rts pixel fan art each day. Day 1 was StarCraft and day 2 is Age of Empires. Tomorrow is going to be Red Alert 2. =)

I remember when this game was new, it's cover art triggered my anxiety, because at the time I had an irrational phobia of the US being invaded and conquered by a foreign power. I wonder what kind of political climate could've fostered such thoughts in a young child's brain in the mid-to-late-2000s

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE - DEFIANCE Closed Beta sign up now open!
If you'd like a sneak peak at the forthcoming Terminator: Dark Fate RTS game, you can now sign up as a Beta tester.
Set during the early stages of the Future War, you lead the remnants of the military in a last stand against the machines, and contend or co-operate with the Resistance in the process.
Mechanically, it seems to be based on the sleeper hit Syrian Warfare, with an emphasis on maintaining and developing your army from battle to battle - even the individual tanker crewmen are uniquely named and have individual status and ammo supplies.
Gameplay involves destructible buildings and urban terrain, and there is no base building - every tank and every troop matters, and your army's condition persists from mission to mission, so each battle affects the next.
The developers seem to be extremely confident in their plotting and story path too, and though there's no word yet on whether Dani or Grace will feature, figuring out how your faction co-operates with others, like the Resistance and the former cartels, seems to be an important aspect of player decision making.
More info, Discord details and the sign up form here, and check out the Steam listing here.
You can check out some very early gameplay here, and I have to say the "real" feeling battlefield physics are quite impressive -
youtube
The game is due out later this year on PC.

Finished my Strategytober 2023 (rtbit) October challenge, 31 rts games that I enjoyed a lot and some are very important to me being some of my favorite games, I still want to add 5 more because I feel there are more games I want to include and because I can't stand the last row being unfinished.
It was a very fun challenge that helped me study smaller pixel art style and working with some different forms that I usually dont do it, specially some vehicles, now I want to work on a game with that style. Hope you all like it. =)
