do you think if mia had chosen to stop existing instead of jaser sofia would be alive? since she is the error in the cycle, the impossible thing that isnt meant to happen. understanding that in this context would mean that sofia is meant to live Or at least not die there per say. like calisto said only the god of fear could bring her back but the existence of mia is what throws everything off.

and i keep thinking about what calisto wrote in those last few documents in the cathedral. and his initial scene with veríssimo where he explicitly states that “but fear.. its impossible when you already know whats going to happen. do you understand?” so yes he saw all the visions including his own death so he knows like the others how hes going to die. but what makes him different is he doesnt feel fear or thats what hes implying. similarly to veríssimo who cant feel fear. which to me means calisto like veríssimo is marked by the god of fear. that is their element.

i also like that calisto doesnt know about mia and you learn that immediately. veríssimo says “all stories need an ending and its because of that im here. to end all of this. to save her.” talking about mia. and calisto says. “save her? you left to forget her!” talking about sofia. so calisto has no idea already. he believes that veríssimo abandoned sofia with no motive because he isnt aware of mia. the cycle itself is already teetering.

now considering this even before using the explosion ritual on himself and presumably dying he tells veríssimo, “i’ll see you in the other ending.” in his mind hes going to be the one to save sofia since he knows that the god of fear will bring about the other ending. none of this will have happened. sofia will come back. the thing is.. mia is the one who existed in the end. jasers choice predetermines whether sofia dies or not. mia was the part of the equation that calisto didnt consider because he couldnt have known.

another interesting part is when calisto states, “i understood the prophecies of the unhaunted one. i solved the enigma of fear. … what did i do?! I FULFILLED MY ROLE!” which we see throughout the game later on where calisto job in this cycle was to decipher all of jasers visons and guide the other agents to repeat the cycle etc etc. THEN HE SAYS “im going to bring her back.” again talking about sofia. which means that calisto did everything he did in that cycle with the motive of bringing about the other ending or in other words calisto wasnt just driven obsessively mad with the enigma of fear cause he wanted to solve it out of curiosity but because he wanted to save sofia. a great example of this would be the last document with the drawing of sofia that says, “only the god of fear can bring her back. only i can do this.” because his role throughout everything was to be the one deciphering all the visions. he was in charge of overseeing and successfully placing the pieces for the other ending to happen. but as we know sofia coming back to life doesnt happen. and im curious to see what calisto will do with that if anything?

cause the implication of the ending we got is that only mia truly remembers what happened and also that everything we saw never happened. so will calisto not even realize that everything he sacrificed to save sofia actually didnt work or pay off? im most anxious to see what calisto will be like now. especially with how quick he sent the group a text message. theres gotta be a certain self awareness to it all. for him at least. suddenly coming back to life and no one knows who you are cause its been decades? its interesting. i think i’d be Most interesting if we get calisto back and hes somehow still obsessed with the enigma of fear and getting sofia back. because that would alter everything so much more again.

like i said in the tags of the urapocere post the lyrics were originally meant to fit fords warped view of fiddleford right after he quit the project but the mv leaves it kinda up to interpretation of whos saying what to who. my personal interpretation while making it was its kind of a mix of ford to fiddleford, ford to bill & bill to fiddleford and/or ford & literally any combination of those work i think tbh. choose ur own adventure who was the biggest hater there

also some tags on the adi one were interpreting where fidds was dragging ford to & i wanna say my personal vision of it was fiddleford kinda just finds fords body lying in the snow in the woods maybe (dont ask why fiddleford would be there.. idk cult things maybe..) and fiddlefords feels obligated to bring him back to the lab so he doesnt freeze to death (he wouldve just erased him & fords memory of it anyways) which is a bit ironic cuz fiddleford is the one who froze to death LMAO (and maybe ford did too idk... you decide)

another thing this goes back to that image towards the top of this post where i yapped abt the songs n how well they fit with fiddauthor & i wanna specifically talk abt the line talking abt icarus because??? oh my god????? literally i think that line alone is like half the reason i associate this song w/ fiddauthor so heavily bc its literally them??? fiddleford literally compares ford 2 icarus in j3 like... its too perfect..

WOW PPL SEEM TO LIKE THE ART STUDENT AU. HAVE SOME KATAANG! I like to imagine Aang is SUPER multi-disciplinary!! He's a complete prodigy, he's always been incredibly engaged, excited and ready to learn! He spread his degree out a lot longer due to travelling, he applied for and got a lot of grants to be able to study all over the world! He focuses on the tangible, the grounding and the idea of grief/trauma being something you can hold, nurture. Where possible he's done his theory classes in psychology, philosophy and lit/classics study!! He's INCREDIBLY smart, and insightful! So i want to emphasise that in this AU. He's done a lot of works where the intent is for the viewer to walk through, to see things that seem completely unconnected, small sculptured pieces you can hold, interact with, look at, experience, and then reading the wall text is enough to make you WEEP!! A room full of ceramic versions of every single toy he's able to remember having, paired with a wall text talking about his childhood, full of turmoil, abandonment, systems that are targeted towards ease of the adults, not protecting the children. He asks in his wall texts for the viewer to read his story, to remember his story, and to take a bit of the burden of carrying it from him. Ease the weight. Just.... Aangs art exploring grief and trauma in such a beautiful way, a way that implores you to observe it for all it taught you and all it took from you, and not give it fuel, not allow the anger to fester, to hold it gently, out of the hands of the people who caused it just as you yourself deserved to be handled when it occurred, and to show it mercy. Katara's paintings explore you to feel. To be grounded, they are swirling pathways of looong strips of canvas/paper, all made into wavy pathways that invite you to follow. Theyre confusing, folding in on themselves, ending suddenly and restarting in other spaces. The vague notions of faces, figures, medical images appearing over and over in ways that suggest grief but dont reinforce it. Katara is INCREDIBLY layered, the tear between wanting to provide, protect and heal those around them but the anger at feeling forced into the role. She WANTS to help people, she WANTS to take care of people and be that supportive beam for those she loves but the anger at the world for telling her thats all shes capable of. How dare they tell her she cant do anything else? And then that fighting against the feeling of "If i do it, all im doing is confirming to them that thats all im capable of doing." Her paintings are journeys, they evoke anger and frustration and grief and she very rarely pairs it with detailed wall texts, unlike Aang who has a million and one words to explain how he feels, Katara prefers to explain the context, the medium, why it was chosen, and then let the work speak for itself. This isnt to say she doesnt HAVE the words, she could talk for hours about every single details, why theres a red dot there and a blue there! the curtains are MORE than "just blue" with her and she will talk about it for hours if she wants! But, just like she feels as though her story has been controlled by the world, shes been told what to do, how to feel, she doesnt want to control viewers experience with her works. She has a title, which is just a few words to distinguish it from the rest of her works and doesnt really give away anything to do with the name, and then a wall text with minor details. She wants people to experience it how they need too. Anyway I love kataang. Theyre so lovely. Yes they do exhibitions together. Yes they reference eachothers works in their assignments. Yes theyre cute.

having recently gotten into ISAT and spent considerable time with my qpp discussing songs that fit siffrin, I've come to the conclusion that it is SUCH a sif song. PLEASE hear me out on this (ive no idea if theres an overlap between isat fans and random british ska band fans but if there is then hi!)

putting this under a read more both because its gonna be long and contain spoilers for pretty much the whole deal with ISAT. also apologies if I fail to pick up my autocorrect making me type 'saffron'

okay so. chronologically through the song theres just a Lot that makes me think of him. this may entirely be a reach but im too big a fan of this song to mind :]

'he's walking where I'm afraid I don't know/I see the firemen jumping from the windows/there's panic and I hear somebody scream'-- immediately the sense of disorientation and confusion that goes throughout both the song and siffrin. also the lack of subjects in the last line (who's panicking/screaming?) further gives this sort of like. unanswered questions that I think really fits sif and their whole. deal

'he picks up useless paper and puts it in my pocket'-- this is sif in the sense of how throughout the loops they become far more disillusioned with how much anything really matters. it all starts to pale in comparison to escaping the loop, and this especially resonates with the complete tunnel vision in the final loop. ALSO the inconsistencies in the entire song between first and third person remind me of the recurring ideas of like. identity and losing touch with yourself throughout the game. idk. im not sure if that's the case with the actual meaning of the song but yknow

'he can't remember tell me what's his name'-- themes of identity and memory and losing yourself. yeah.

AND THE CHORUS ITSELF IDK. 'and all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep at home'-- obviously the photograph thing but that's very literal, plus the idea of 'home' both in the song and in ISAT. also the 'all I wanted' alluding to regretting whatever caused the loop? which obviously creates the sense of his wish only being to have some stability and not. Yknow. a massive time loop. but hey ho

'the sun is laughing, it's another broken morning'-- loop. sun/star comparisons to be drawn, and the connotations of 'broken morning' in the context of being forced back to the same morning (or should I say, afternoon? [: ) repeatedly. also the connotations of 'another' as something trapping you/repeating ad infinitum AGH its so siffrin

'I see a shadow and call out to try and warn him, he didn't seem to hear just turned away'-- this reminds me of the whole like. futility of sif not being able to meaningfully help the others and just,,,,, agh,,,

'he had to sacrifice his pride, yes, throw it all away'-- further themes of a loss of an integral part of identity. I see this through the lens of siffrin's attempts to leave the loop becoming more and more desperate to the point of willing to compromise anything (of himself) for escape. fun!!

'his days are numbered, he walks round and round in circles'-- Oh You Know. repetition and never finding escape. siffrin..... aside from the whole time loop deal this line is fun to me in this interpretation of 'his days are numbered' but as the different iterations of the loop growing in frequency as opposed to the traditional use of 'days being numbered'. idk I just love flipping idioms

'there is no place he can ever call his own'-- again the themes of identity and home (or lack thereof). sif having nowhere to return to is suchhh an inciting theme of the whole game and this just completely summarises that. I also especially note the 'very' and how it finalises the whole thing; his country is gone, his memories are gone, and unless Something stops it, his family will be gone as well. I need to lie down.

'staring out the window there's nothing he can do now/all he wanted was to remain sane/he can't remember his own name'-- final verse before the last choruses and dear lord. siffrin. again with just the whole,,, memory and desperation and resignation. one very very reaching bit of analysis here is the shift in pronouns/person between the 'I can't remember tell me what's his name' and 'he can't remember his own name'; the forgetting of the name switches from an external thing that almost doesn't hold much weight to something symbolising a complete loss in self. if I'm then applying this to sif's character arc, I think this really just shows how their relationship with memory becomes more fraught and more of a source of stress throughout the game.

SO!!! I absolutely adore both in stars and time and this song, and just think it fits him so well. do you see my vision

I only did head-canons once and it was my biggest work (900-ish) but they take more work to do but if I do SMAUs they are quicker to make but I don’t really get a lot of attention on them. (btw if you don’t know what SMAU is it’s kinda like a made up text story replying to the character of your choice.)

🪼nonny im sorry boo! who knows why? i know sometimes things can be by mistake so maybe if you have another account message them to find out why? ive seen some people say "if you think i blocked you on accident lmk", and they may or may not be receptive to it, but if you approach it as "im not trying to argue with you, only trying to find out if i am leaving a bad impression in someway as I have noticed a pattern of people blocking me lately." it's more likely they will be open to sharing with you why and even if its something you dont agree with don't get defensive about it as at the end of the day it was their choice. but thats only if you care enough to do so. ive never done so in this context, but ive done so irl with friends of friends who i thought didnt like me for whatever reason and regardless of what they said, its their choice. but do remember at the end of the day, other people opinion of you is not necessarily an accurate reflection so while it is good to evaluate if theres any room for improvement. dont let it drive you crazy/take it too much to heart. theres tons and tons of great writers out there to follow who wouldnt block you.

hey! id say do whatever you feel like doing tbh, notes be damned. i never consider notes when i write something. if i did then i would only write short 500-1k drabbles or multi-fic character drabbles as those seem to get the most attention. i dont have anything against them (i actually have a ton of funny concepts for them) its just very hard for me to write smut without some sort of build up to it. but that wont be true for everyone so write what you are inspired by and what makes you happy.

A Ghost Story post

Well, now that I've caught up I wanted to make a post about my general thoughts on it instead of making a bunch of small posts, well here it is, minor spoilers under cut but I'll try to avoid them as much as I can

A ghost story is the story of Maxine and Jack and... their world...

I actually had started reading ags a while ago, but stopped after book one was done and was like "well i'll wait until theres more to read" and uhhh without meaning to years passed but now I caught on again.

A part of me would have liked to have followed it in real time, another part of me likes having read it now how I did it, there's some things in it that Im like, I'm glad I was able to go through them in one go.

I've tried making this post multiple times, trying to write something more "meaningful" or in a better order but I just cant....

My thoughts in general are: I like the comic and had fun catching up, the start is a bit confusing imo, but it has more to do with the setting being new, and some uh... composition? flow? choices, but all of this is stuff the comic improves later on, which is something I find fun to look at when reading a webcomic, see how they change and improve.

So yeah.

My book two thoughts are:

This is were the comic "picks up" to me, and its not only because my favorite little guy (JED!) shows up, but I think by this point of the story the world is fleshed out enough that you start noticing some stuff... It also introduces Alice, whom I love...

The ongoing Book 3 is really good... by this point the setting and plot have been fleshed out enough that you can go back and get so much more out of what is there, I think in a month or so I should do a re-read, because I keep noticing stuff I hadn't before, you get more context on things and its fuuun !!

So read AGS if you like stories about... Ghosts! Mysteries! Holding onto your culture <- My vocalubary is not good enough to put this into words but it touches on those themes, I specially like the last one, but you start getting a better idea about it until towards the end of book 2.

right so all the similarities between the bug videos are 1) the tabs are all called answer 2) the audio is of two of the characters having a conversation with each other 3) the camera is focused on a random object thats related to the context of their location 4) they all end and glitch out on Wally's name being said 5) they all end with one of the other neighbors asking Wally a question

the fact that they all end with a question being asked (to Wally) and then the tabs all being titled 'answer' mean something maybe its him trying to answer? or trying to remember his answer? because all the questions are something like 'what do you think Wally?' like,, all questions about his opinion/feelings/thoughts on something yk

hello u said we could come here for AP test advice umm I’m concerned about my DBQ and LEQ this Thursday do u have any advice? mostly for structuring tbh, like should I be shooting for 3 body paragraphs? thank u, u are epic :]

HOW TO WRITE A DBQ

1. Skim All The Documents

that sounds dumb, but its for sure the best place to start. take a highlighter or a pen and underline a few important pieces of text in the written docs. you don't have to read them thoroughly, just look at them enough so that you know what they are talking about. next to each document write down a few words describing the main idea/argument. it is also a good idea to write down which piece of HIPP (historical context, intended audience, purpose and point of view) you're going to do for which document next to that doc so you don't forget when you are writing the essay 

2. Group Your Documents

this will determine how many body paragraphs you need. if you find that your documents only fall into two separate groups, only have two body paragraphs. if they fall into three groups, make 3 body paragraphs.\

3. Figure Out Your Thesis Statement

based on how you grouped your documents, write a thesis statement. the thesis statement should answer the question. 

4. Write Your Introduction

with most ap dbqs, the question will pertain to one theme, such as the economy, or migration, or whatever. your introduction should contain literally as much information as you can possibly remember about the other themes from that same time period and end with your thesis statement. so for example if my essay question was on the economy during the industrial revolution i would include in my intro paragraph things about immigration influxes, culture clashes, how america was interacting with the rest of the world, etc. think of it as the opening crawl in the star wars movies: you need to know all the other stuff that was happening as background info before you can get to the thing that you're talking about. this is your contextualization point. your thesis statement should be at the end of this paragraph. the intro paragraph in whole should be at least half a page long.

5. Write Your Body Paragraphs 

based on how you group your documents you should have 2 or 3 body paragraphs. these should be at least a page long. remember to use HIPP and to contextualize as much as possible. when i wrote dbqs i threw in every last piece of outside information that wasnt in the documents as I could remember. make sure that if theres a written doc that you are quoting from it directly at least once and either introduce the document by saying “In Document 1 by ____” or putting it in parentheses at the end of your cite/reference/allusion (Doc 1). USE ALL THE DOCUMENTS!! that way if you misinterpret one, you won't get points off.

6. Write Your Conclusion

a conclusion does not have to be long. if you run out of time, it can be literally one sentence. your conclusion should summarize your argument and essentially restate your thesis. if you want, this is where you connect to a different time period. 

HOW TO WRITE AN LEQ

1. Figure Out What Kind Of Question It Is

all leqs are either change and continuity over time, compare contrast, causation, or periodization. depending on which kind of question you get, take 5 minutes to plan for it. come up with 2 or 3 really solid pieces of evidence that you can reference for each. 

2. Map Your Essay

depending on the question you have, figure out how many paragraphs you need. for change and continuity over time and compare contrast id do two paragraphs: one for the changes/ comparisons and one for the continuities/ contrasts. for causation and periodization you can do either 2 or 3 body paragraphs, depending on how many examples you have come up with.

3. Write Your Thesis

your thesis should directly reflect the question. if it were a change and continuity question your thesis should address that x y and z were the changes and a b and c were the continuities. the same goes for the other kinds of questions.

4. Write Your Introduction

essentially the same as your dbq intro. include as much background as you can remember from the other themes as possible. think of the star wars crawl. aim for around half a page. put your thesis statement at the end.

5. Write Your Body Paragraphs

write your two or three body paragraphs. they should be around a page long. include as many examples as you can think of in as much detail as possible. now is not the time to be vague. ensure that your body paragraphs answer the question posed in your thesis. (ex. address that x y and z are the continuities because blah blah and blah etc)

6. Write Your Conclusion

same as the dbq conclusion. does not have to be long, but try to make it at least a sentence. It should restate your thesis and explain why (why are these the changes, why are these the continuities). now is also the time to connect to another time period if you want.

i remember reading a fictional lesbian romance book where a straight woman falls in love with someone over text before realizing that shes been texting a butch lesbian. it was a cute story, but one part always bothered me. theres one part where the two go on a date, and a waiter misgenders the butch lesbian before realizing that shes a woman, then apologies profusely. the butch lesbian doesnt really mind, but the "straight" woman gets really upset and angry over it, thinking about how "women can look like anything, and dont have to be feminine to be women" and that sorta thing.

what annoyed me a lot was that she wasn't angry at the idea of just gender being assumed onto strangers, but that she (or rather her girlfriend) just happened to be the one inconvenienced by it. like yeah women CAN look like anything, so maybe we should stop assuming everyones gender in general?? plus the waiter immediately apologized so they weren't even being rude about it

the whole scene just makes me think of passing (binary) trans people who dont want to get rid of the whole assuming stranger's genders based on appearance or voice, because it makes them feel good that they pass, but literally hurts every nonbinary, nonpassing, or gnc trans person, and it made me kinda frustrated and annoyed.

Yeah, I think there's something to be said for the fact that assuming gender neutrality can be dysphoria inducing for some people. Especially people who often have it forced on them as a method of degendering, or denying their genders; Ive definitely had people use they/them pronouns, or sometimes chose to call me "Grey" instead of "Greyson", because they're unwilling to acknowledge my manhood. And I've seen people who use it/its pronouns discuss how it can feel like misgendering to have they/them assumed, because oftentimes folks will use those pronouns for them as a way of avoiding the use of it/its for their own personal comfort.

And there is definitely a phenomena that people are often touching on here where, like, cis people will initiate pronoun sharing exclusively because one trans person is present. Which might be fine for some folks, and for others can feel like drawing attention to the fact that they don't fully pass.

But thats also not something we can really avoid by defaulting to assuming gender, either. I think there might be more nuanced, context-based solutions (ex: you meet someone you have been told is a trans woman, you haven't been given pronouns yet, she's very binary and obviously presenting that way, you can probably assume she uses she/her at first). But they aren't catch all, and imo it's still by far best practice to avoid assuming and normalize asking. Over time, it'll hopefully feel less like degendering, too.

I just want to avoid assuming that everyone who feels uncomfortable with that in the meantime is being malicious about it. Folks can have their discomfort, talk about it, and also still acknowledge that avoiding that assumption is best practice overall.

Here I’m going to try and explain all of the Unus Annus codes + possible lore. If I have forgotten some information or if one of these links doesnt work/is incorrect please let me know. This post will be updated when needed. 

This is LONG, so be prepared. 

At first, these codes were only in videos edited by NerdFiction, but as of October 26th this is no longer true. (The possible exception to this would be the first video I’ve listed, as the editor is not in the description). 

1) 5 Weird Apps That Predicted Our Death

 “Here at Unus Annus the end is nigh... when the timer hits zero we will cease to exist. is it fate? is this a simulation? Can anybody hear me? My name is.... [FILE REDACTED]”. Timestamp - 0:14

Around this time, NerdFiction’s Twitter bio said, among his normal information, that he was “trying to stop the Unus Annus clock from within.”

“The Beginning of The End”. 

On July 26th, at 12pm PST, a video was uploaded to Unus Annus titled “Traversing the Desert to Find Our Inner Truth”. This video was only up for a few minutes before it mysteriously disappeared, only to be replaced by another video, titled “The Beginning of The End”. At first glance, the videos were identical, save for different titles and slightly different descriptions. However, the second video was slightly longer than the first, and upon further inspection, many came to realize that the audio was slightly different as well. You can listen to both audios here. There was a rumor going around that the captions of “Traversing the Desert to Find Our Inner Truth” said something about looking out for Norbert Moses, but no one has been able to confirm this to my knowledge. 

8) Puberty Simulator

“Happy birthday to the beast or to the body that once housed me. A transfer made for pity’s sake. Tricked into the machine as he had my cake.” (Timestamp - 14:36) [The same code was found a week earlier in “Mark and Ethan Shave Chica”, uploaded on NerdFiction’s birthday. The original code was very difficult to make out, so it is likely he inserted it into a different video to make it easier for us.]

On the same day, NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “Everyone must leave something behind when he dies. Memento Memoriae” (remember memory)

In “The Koala Challenge: TikTok’s Intimate Couple’s Trend” one of the clips is edited to look like a TikTok video, with the user ron_somberest being used. Ron_Somberest is an anagram for Norbert Moses. This TikTok account does actually exist, and the icon is a zoomed in and brightened photo of Norbert Moses’s face with the eyes scribbled out. 

Around this time NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “’It’s not dark, never was’ - Ron Bestsmore”. Ron Bestsmore is also an anagram for Norbert Moses. It is possible that the “dark” being referred to here is Darkiplier, and NerdFiction is trying to imply that Dark is not involved in this. 

About a week after the koala challenge video was “How to Start a Fire (except don’t)”, which featured an appearance from Unus. NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “In the end, who is your savior and what are they saving you from?” 

Things were quiet for about a month. NerdFiction eventually erased the cryptic message from his Twitter bio. 

9) Learning To Use The Force

“wait no something is wrong. he knows!” (Timestamp - 10:45) [translated from small coded words hidden in the montage]

“STOPTHISWHATAREYOUDOINGO3″ (Timestamp - 11:40)

“it worked” (a spectrogram, derived from a sound played at the end of the video)

10) Momiplier Tells Us True Scary Stories from Korea

“As I was, as I’ve done to him now. Am I right to decide his fate?” (Timestamp - 5:44) [Right before this, Mark’s mom is talking about a nightmare she had where she was paralyzed, possibly implying that nerdfiction was once paralyzed and has now paralyzed someone else (pointed out by @/minervas-sandwich)]

11) Cryptid Olympics

“I thought you’d join us but, hey, that was just a theory, Memento Doctrina” (remember learning). (Timestamp - 5:49) [The code references the Game Theorists channel, which had uploaded a video about Unus Annus earlier that same day.]

12) Edward Pumpkin Hands - This was the first coded video not edited by NerdFiction, instead being edited by Diceroll.

At various points throughout the video small parts of a url are seen. When pieced together, this link is made: https://imgur.com/a/tyDewJ7. It leads to a photo of the Unus Annus hourglass. When edited, a series of binary text is shown, which translates to “zhIaNL2“. Inputting this into another imgur link gets you to https://imgur.com/a/zhIaNL2. After editing the photo (although you can still sorta see it without doing so), a cipher of a custom alphabet is shown (I posted an edited photo here).

At 5:01 in the video a weird image is shown for only a moment (a slightly brightened version of it here). Nobody knows what the hell it means.

At the same time, there is a reversed audio of someone (presumably Ethan; it sounds like him) saying “we did that”. For context, the sentence said right before that line was “if one of us dies, the other has to take over for the remainder of time”. This is possibly implying that someone, or multiple someones, has/have died and been replaced.

13) Blood Bath - edited by rad_r

“Everything’s fine”

The Unus Annus timer is shown. It counts down for three seconds before counting up for one second. Heavy breathing can be heard over it. It is then cancelled by an error message

“ITS NOT FINE HELP” (this and the previous two messages are hidden at 5:57)

“you’ve done it now.. a machine observed. there is no returning.. a machine unnerved. there is only.. a machine unconqured.” (right at the end of the video, before the timer)

14) The Unus Annus Annual Costume Contest - edited by nerdfiction

“I saw just one door in a hall filled with many, I locked your gate but they were too late to join me. He was re-placed, she was undone, I had escaped yet he had still won”. (Timestamp - 2:05) [possibly talking about diceroll and rad_r. The pronouns would line up, and it would make sense with those two now having edited coded videos.]

That afternoon you were woken up with a flick to the forehead. Slowly opening your eyes and allowing them to adjust to the bright scenery you found Levi looming over you. Before you could speak or sit up, he flicked your forehead again harshly.  

“Oi, brat. Wake up and eat...” He said with a bored tone. You frowned before groaning as you sat up. Your chest was sore, breathing was painful but you did find that you felt absolutely famished. Your muscles ached as you reached for the plate on your bed side table and began to eat hastily. Levi’s lips formed into a slight frown at the sight before him.  

“No manners.” He muttered to himself as he flipped through his reports. While you were asleep it seemed, Levi set up shop with you in the infirmary, a small table with a neat stack of forms sat a few feet away from you. Quill pens lay next to an ink well on one end, and on the other sat Levi’s favorite tea set. Levi’s eyes watched as yours scanned over his table and he cocked his brow at you.  

“Mind your business and eat.” He spat, before crossing one leg over the other. You huffed at him before taking a large bite out of your loaf of bread dramatically. The two of you rolling your eyes at each other.  

The silence drew on and as you finished your meal you sat awkwardly on your bed, not knowing what to do with your hands. Erwin hadn’t yet arrived with your new book and your old ones were nowhere to be found. Levi noticed this but decided against going to grab them for you from your old cellar.  

Silently he rose from his seat and poured you a cup of warm tea to ease your aching throat. The two of you sipped your teas in the continued silence before Hange came barging in to check on you.  

They felt your forehead, still a little warm but your fever was definitely dropping. After your routine checkup Hange asked if you were up for a bath to which you desperately agreed.  

“Well, Levi while I watch her in the bath can you change the sheets?” Hange asked with a shit eating grin, though it did little to mask their anxiety for asking Levi to do something like that. Levi frowned as he eyed the sheets over, knowing they were drenched in your sweat put him off.  

“No.” He replied dryly turning his body away from your bed as if to remove himself further away from your sick germs. Hange pouted before hatching a new idea for a solution.  

“If I switch the sheets, you’ll have to take her to the bath–”  

“Fine.” He said with an exasperated sigh, setting his tea cup down gently before slipping out of the door not waiting to see if you follow him or not. You groan and pout in Hange’s direction but do your best to catch up with Levi. Your body was feeling so heavy and weak you looked forward to the bath but not with Levi in the room.  

The partition will help to give you privacy but the dead silence will be nerve wracking. Your inner complaints fell silent when you found yourself walking past many of the scouts you recall seeing in the canteen and outside of the infirmary.  

The scouts gawked and moved out of Levi’s path as he walked on ahead but you slowed down to take the time to memorize their faces. They looked younger than you, well, everyone’s younger than you considering your past but that’s beside the point.  

You gave the young scouts a sheepish smile and a little wave before catching up with Levi. You gave the young boy with those large emerald eyes a curt nod before continuing on. He looked like he wanted to ask a million questions, and you hoped one day to be able to answer them.  

Levi addressed a tall man as he walked towards the baths, his name was Mike. The two men nodded at one another as they passed by and you gave him a small nod of your own. However, instead of returning that gesture the tall man hastily slapped his hand over his nose and backed away from you.  

Mortified, you gasped and wrapped your arms over your body as if to conceal your scent. Was it that bad, really? As if it couldn’t get any worse Levi saw the entire thing and a smug look was painted over his features, probably laughing at your expense. You whined to yourself before continuing to the bath and slipping inside.  

Levi shook his head trying and failing to conceal the smirk on his face.  

“Mike has a strong sense of smell.” He commented as you slid the partition in front of the tub with a frown ever present on your features. You sucked your teeth at the new information.  

“ Great, so I just broke his nose with my ick, ” you thought to yourself. Levi stood across the room with arms folded as you peaked back behind the partition and began to undress. You slid down into the steaming water and released a delighted sigh, allowing your weary muscles relax in the warmth. Any humiliation from you encounter with Mike melting away.

Hearing the splashing water die down Levi excused himself to quickly retrieve fresh clothes for you. He brought back an olive button down blouse, khaki slacks, and a pair of slippers. Swiftly he walked up to the chair next to your bath and dropped the neatly folded clothes onto its seat. You eyed him warily, sinking an inch deeper into the bath but Levi was a gentleman of course, he made no attempt at sneaking a peak at your body and you appreciated that. It was hard to imagine him as the perverted type anyway.

Levi leaned his back against the wall of the washroom near the door, sighing before reluctantly breaking the silence.  

“You remember your name yet brat?” He asked, tilting his head to the side as he waited impatiently for your attempted response. You hummed “no”, sounding a bit sad.  

“Troublesome...” He muttered under his breath but you caught what he said loud and clear. You huffed at his comment before reaching for the shampoo bottle and giving your scalp a scrub.  

You hummed delightedly, feeling refreshed and clean. Just as you were stepping out of the bath Levi ordered you to hurry, dress, and get back to the infirmary. Levi stepped into the hall where he was met with a scout pacing back and forth on the other side of the door impatiently waiting for someone to emerge.  

“What do you want brat?” Levi spat waiting for the young boy to explain himself.  

It was Eren Yeager, he had so many questions he’s been wanting to ask about you. Who you are and why you’re here? Just as he opened his mouth to ask as much you stepped into the hall, dressed in your new comfy clothes and drying your drenched hair on a fluffy towel.  

Eren’s eyes scanned between you and Captain Levi, mouth still agape before he finally spoke.  

“You’re a titan shifter?” He interrogated, staring a bit too hard at you. It was a little unnerving how eager he seemed for an answer, an answer you weren’t sure of yourself.  

Awkwardly you shrugged your shoulders looking between the two men.  

“Theres your answer brat, now get to cleaning in there.” Levi ordered shuffling between the two of you to leave towards the infirmary.  

“B-but–” Eren attempted to protest his new chores but he was quickly silenced with an irritated glance from the Captain. Eren deflated before stalking off into the wash room to tidy up to Levi’s high standards. You gave him an apologetic smile before following Levi back to your room.  

There you were met with Commander Erwin, he stood in the middle of the room flipping through a thick book, one you supposed was meant for you.  

“Oh, there you are!” He said with a bright smile handing over the book to you.  

“This is for you, pick whichever one you like most.” He nodded towards the text in your hands, while you looked at him questionably. That is, until you saw the context of the book. Names.  

It was a book filled entirely of names to pick from. Something in your chest twisted almost painfully, you hadn’t realized how heartbreaking it was to have forgotten your own name. However, finding a new identity for your new life felt a bit rewarding and poetic. Grinning with misty eyes you flipped through the pages enthusiastically.  

A knock sounded against the door but you ignored it as you continued to scan the pages with haste. Hange slipped inside and Levi caught them up on what was happening.  

“She's picking out a name...” He said with a bored tone, yet on the inside he was anticipating your choice. Hange gasped and clapped their hands together, excited to finally have a name to call you form here on out.  

You pointed out a name to Hange and watched as their expression soured.  

“I don’t know about Daisy for you...” they said hesitantly, a tentative smile on their face as they flipped to another page to divert your attention from Daisy. Levi’s own expression twisted at the sound of that one too, and Erwin chuckled giving a choice of his own.  

“Mildred?” This time you were the one frowning, shaking your head frantically before snorting a bit at that name. Levi shook his head before adding his suggestion.  

“How about the brat flips to a random page and the first name she finds we use that? Problem solved.” He added, feigning irritation and impatience. You gave him a small smile before taking him up on the offer.  

Closing your eyes, you flipped the pages at random before randomly stopping yourself and pointing at a spot on the page.  

Slowly you opened one eye to see where you landed, Hange leaned eagerly over your shoulder to get a glance themself.  

“Ooo~ I like this one!” Hange exclaimed giving you a playful nudge in the side. Erwin glanced at your finger on the page, his thick eyebrows raising a fraction in surprise.  

“Lucky pick! It’s lovely, do you like it?” He asked, his features softening at the dazed look on your face. You loved it, it felt perfect. You felt like this name was already yours. You nodded softly, unshed tears clouding your vision.  

Levi sauntered over and looked at the name on the page before giving a curt nod.  

“It’s not shitty.” He said plainly. You chuckled before smiling at the page once more.  

That’s when, in 107 years you uttered your first word. Voice soft and trembling.  

“Y/N.”

 oh my god this sdgjkh sat in my inbox for days because i didnt have the energy to awnser it right away and then forgot. i think this was prompted because of this ask which still makes me laugh to think about 

anyways shroom story, its sdjkgh a favorite story in my server and new friends

but like ough i was in the summer between middle and highschool so like ?? 14 i think maybe 15, i forget what age most people are round then

but probably 15, old enough that my parents could question me doing any sorta drug in a normal way. like not a concerning way but in a genuine way.

and my parents smoke weed, SO much fucking weed all the fucking time their a nightmare. and i was in the room next to them and often could smell it in my room at night.

but myself, i dont do any sorta drug, just not something iv been able to do or had a desire for ig sorta.

also more context, my mom stopped smoking and this was about the time she started her road to being a crazy vegan person and it started when she watched some video about how refined sugars and salts will give you cancer. so out went all sugar and refined salts in our house for the rest of the time i lived with them.

but once in awhile when i had a few bucks i still went out and got soda and a snack at the gas station, or we’de have sweets like graham crackers or dfjkgh like literally whatever was sweet like some caramel on bread. shit like that. and on weekends id scrounge the cabinets for snacks and hole up in my room and watch shows on my computer in my room.

and so one night i was doing that and idk, as some of you can probably guess, i found two little chocolates wrapped in tin foil. and ME fucking absolute DUMBASS didn’t think anything of it and went mmm choncholate for sammi! and promptly took it to my room along with some other things.

was watching my show, snacking fine until the chocolates. 

let me reiterate, i am a fucking MORON.

i bit into the first one and went, yuck! gross!....... maybe the other one taste better? bit into that one, didnt taste good. went, hmm theres something in there maybe i need to eat around it. not realizing it was like THE WHOLE CHOCOLAte i tried to eat around the center to find it still gross, gave up and threw the chocolates away.

and see i didnt think anything of it because one, im a fucking idiot. and two, my date was terribly lactose intolerant and kept dark chocolate in the house and its very bitter and i didnt like it, and at the time had assumed it was just dark chocolate.

went back to my shows for awhile

annnd then the shrooms kicked in.

and to be clear, im a dumbass and had NO idea what i had just done.

and i start to feel sometHING is wrong with me and like i cant describe how it made me feel except that when it started my brain decided “oh god im being punished for not exercising enough. i dont do enough cardio and im dying RIGHT NOW for it.”

so i went outside to the backyard where my parents work blowing glass and making weed pipes. and im like... mother.. i have to go outside right now i need to run around the block right now

returning to the backyard both my parents are there and i tell them about the chocolate, they honestly think its a lil funny and my dad and is kinda like “ :O!! my fuckin shroom chocolate we were saving that!”

and they start like trying help me, asking me if i wanted to watch a movie in the living room until i come down and everything. and im telling them i want to be alone and go to sleep until  its over because i was miserable and a little stressed because OFC this didnt happen on my terms.

so i return to my room and try to lay down, but i remember like trying to close my eyes and just seeing fucking colors very much like a kaleidoscope. Annoyed i tried to push that from my vision

but when i would attempt to push away colors and find a dark patch in my like brain? there was a small puppet of me just like, doing the jig. And it was shaped like mister smarty pants from between the lions

so i give up on sleeping and grab my blanket and pillow and go to the living room, leaning against the wall singing “im just a kid” on the way.

i asked my parents to put on some disney movie, they told me no because it fuck me up too bad. and then they turned on the lorax.

i remember that movie being SO blurry and i remember looking at my mom and going “this movie is too fucking orange >:(”

the rest of it was mostly fine, i went outside with my mom and ask if she could hear my poop through the window to the bathroom that was connected to the patio. she told me no

my father tried to get me to drink nyquil, i said no and layed on the floor and rolled away from him because i just remembered i really didnt like how it tasted.

You sat on the couch as Philip left to see his friends. You just got home from a trip to Greece and you let him see his friends for a while. Of course, watching How I Met Your Mother for the 5th time got boring. You started thinking of ways to annoy your best friend so you start spamming her with random tiktok vids, no matter the vid or the context, you just spammed her like theres no tomorrow. Which lead you to calling her.

'Y/n what the fuck?? dont you have a boyfriend to bother?"

'Philip's out for the day, hes with his friends'

'Probably got tired of your bullshit HAHAHA'

Suddenly the doorbell rang. You remembered that you ordered new lingerie last week while coming home from Greece. You propped your phone on the table getting the door. The door opened to reveal a slightly toned delivery guy with the Amazon uniforms bright blue and black colors on his shirt. It was a rather big box of lingerie since it was on sale and why not treat yourself. You did the usual when getting a package delivered and said goodbye to the delivery's guy. You go back to your best friend staring at her phone possibly scrolling through tiktok. You snapped her out of the video she's watching to tell her:

'I bought a shit ton of lingerie from amazon holy shit'.

With your best friends attention onto you now, you opened the box, making sure to not cut through anything inside. You look at the first piece on top, opening the plastic, it was a black two piece with detachable knee high mesh stockings. 'Y/n that looks so good!! Philip's gonna freak!'. You now had a wave of confidence flow through you. This is definitely gonna make sex interesting. You rumage through all of what you bought, showing your best friend each delicate piece if fabric.

The call ended after a couple of hours of just chatting and you trying one one piece for her trusted judgement. You were just cleaning up the little mess you made with all the fabric on the sofa. You each place them back in the box with the intention of hanging them later. You watched a little bit more How I Met Your Mother till you got a message.

You prop down your phone to get back to the episode your on. It gets boring to do this over and over again, so you decide to pull out your phone and scroll through tiktok. You come across this one video that gave you an idea. You just bought new lingerie and maybe you could snap a couple of pics in them while trying them on.

For once you felt confident to maybe send Philip a little something while he's away. You try on a couple of pieces deciding which few you're going to send pictures in. You look at yourself in the mirror, you were wearing a blue lace piece covering just the right parts. You remember looking at this particular outfit on the website, feeling the worst that might happen is that your fat is going to just overflow out or whatnot. It was actually a really good fit. You snap some pics of yourself in this and maybe some more in the pink and red fit you tried on earlier. You only needed 10 pics anyways.

In the middle of your mini photoshoot, your phone chimed. It was your landlord saying the due of the rent and whatnot. You replied with a simple ok and that its Philip's turn to pay, it should be within the month. You quickly returned to your mini photoshoot, signaling yourself that time flew and its already 6:00 pm. Philip should be home around 11:30 maybe.

Once you had at least 30 photos, selecting the few 10 and deleting the others was pretty easy. 3 photos in the blue one, 4 photos in the pink one, and 3 other in the red one. You got dressed properly and went to the laundry room to wash the lot of lingerie you had on your hands. You had time to make a little dinner so you decide to make some chicken wings, of course following a recipe on your phone. You had to make sure Philip was maybe a bit tipsy before you do what you were going to.

About 3 hours passed and you were already on your way to bed when you decide to text him.

Hakuouki Yuugiroku 3 Short Episode “Very Similar”

This translation is from the 3rd Yuugiroku game “Hakuoki Yuugiroku - Taishitachi no Daienkai,” and I will not be referring to it as such since it’s too much of a hassle to copy/paste/look up the title every time plus I reserve the right to be lazy since I don’t see anyone else translating anything from this game! xD lol... as such, this why I will only be tagging this under ‘Yuugiroku 3.’

ANYWAY.

when i was taking a break from filling up my queue with ssl stuff, i ended up translating this for some reason. lol. should probably have done something from kyoka-roku since there’s still that rain scenario stuff and the other char povs to do, but since i have translations for about 95% of this game (not counting yuugiroku 1 [have a patched psp iso file but I don’t care to learn how to extract text from it as i’m lazy] and 2 [have various tl for this... very unorganized plus some of it is incomplete] which are bundled onto this vita game), i figured that it didn’t matter if i got a tiny head-start. The only thing I can’t translate/have no translations for from this game is the section that has no text where the guys comment on various drinks or something (can’t remember what they are aside from sake cuz i distinctly remember Saito saying something about sake and tofu lol), and the misc dialogue that occurs when you select something in the menu or during the mini-games.

In regards to this content, I think this was in what was referred to as the “Appreciation section” [not sure+too lazy to check jp mtl], though the translation of the text on the right on the first image below the cut is ‘episode’ in Chinese so I will be labelling this as such... There are a total of 9 in these in the game.

I suffered a lot during those days/years [the actual word used is "years" but the phrase used can mean either "in those days", "during that time", and "in those years"].

Sakamoto: That's right, have you tried being a merchant?

If you're capable of doing that, you should go and open and up your own store. [theres no damn pronoun subject in this sentence but based on jp mtl  and context, im assuming he's telling souji off]

Souji: Hijikatasan, you opened a store/ran a store? With his temper? That's not the way to joke [That's not something to joke about/That's a bad joke?].

Hijikata: Shut up! I also didn't think that suitable for me to do.

Sakamoto: After your parents also died early. [Weren't you] raised by your eldest sister who is [now the] closest to you too? Actually, that's another a coincidence!

Souji: Eh, it is like that. I was also left with my elder sister after my parents died early.

Sakamoto: Oh, then you were also brought up by your elder sister!

Souji: I don't remember so who knows.

Sakamoto: You don't remember....... you can't remember your own sister?

Souji: Hm....... There are similarities even in this aspect?

Hijikata: What did you say?

Souji: Nothing, just thinking aloud.

Souji: Hijikata-san is such a person, but as he says, we should go. Ah by the way Sakamoto-san, are you able to write haiku?

Sakamoto: Oh? I'm only able to write basic phrases at the level of an ordinary person [I can only write basic phrases].

Souji: I have a lovely book of haiku, would you like to take a look?

i do like these short stories... not that yuugiroku 3 has any real plot to speak of, though i have no idea when I’ll translate another of these or anything from this game again for that matter since i still got ssl and ginsei no shou to work on.
