Trying to find fanart of Yuri and Estelle that isn’t ship art is a pain. I just want to enjoy my one JRPG where the lead man and woman are not canonical romantic interests.

I dont think we need to take Ken penders words for anything, the man is hated for reasons beyond his bad writing. He threw ofher writers he worked with under the buss all the time. Back in the early 2000s he would get anoyyed if someone complimented another writer besides him. He once said, he did his own thing because 'Sega didn't give him much to work with" and would imply his writing made the Sonic characters deeper then in the games. Jon Gray even stated, fhe entire reason why Ken left because he couldn't do what he wanted since his unused plans would break several rules with Sonic's character, especially regarding Shadow. He's now pretending to still care about Sonic's brand because Sonic fans are the only one giving him any attention nowadays.
He is 100% a grifter, idiot, glory hog, has daddy issues, probably misses the 90s when regulation was lax as fuck
But he is unironically right regarding Flynn's parasocial involvement with the fandom. That's the only thing I care about. Given my own research on Ian, Pender's 100% right. Ian already was doing interviews 4 years before he got on Archie, and then generated more interest with the bumbleking forums, and later paid questionaire podcasts. No other writer is this directly in view of fandom opinions, and as seen in his writing, appeals directly to fan bias pretty often
The entire reason he killed Tommy, treated Cream like shit, and fucked with a stupid 5 year "There's a traitor!" with Silver is directly cuz he was mirrored fandom ire. They hated Tommy being dead weight, they hated Cream for "kiddifying the franchise", they hated Silver for being a naive guy from a bad game
I've also noticed Flynn indirectly thrived on surrounding drama of the greater fandom. 06's reception + Archie writers dropping is the only reason he got hired. Yardley's less shit art is why writing got leeway. The 2013 lawsuit causing the reboot gave him a by for "not using expanded chars" along with getting Archie noticed by the games fandom, and Lost World/Forces failing for reception led to people to look more into spinoffs
I see people randomly gas up Archie Sonic as a powerhouse or peak entirely cuz they see this scene out of context
Tumblr media
Even though this literally happens right after. He doesn't even beat him legitimately later, he was beaten cuz suddenly his mech is ineffective to most of the FF and Ray. Fucking Ray
Tumblr media
People further cementing "skip to issue 160" and accrediting all good writing to Ian is also grounds for creating another Penders. Sadly I think it worked
So I don't give a shit about Pender's ramblings of his "great writing" given how miniscule his impact is nowadays. The only thing of impact to the games he did was bury the idea of a Chronicles sequel, an already noncanon game. I DO care if someone effectively hired by nepotism still shows his bias and misconception for this franchise. This stance in 2008 I don't think changed given how he's been trying to sneak in Archie refs still
Tumblr media
If not Ian, it'd be another "fan" on Twitter doing similar disregard of the games
The term "a broken clock right twice a day" is what I'd say applies to Penders for his notes on Ian. Otherwise, outside Spiderman 4 dev, he is to be ignored mostly
Well that and him dunking Krash, that was just...wow. Rare W

A silly Tron headCanon that I have that Flynn would bring (and sometimes deliver) Sam childhood drawings to the grid.
While little Sam's drawings had a permit place on the Flynn and Bradley household refrigerators ( as well on the arcade.) Flynn would bring them to the grid with him for two reasons. The first reason is that he wanted to show programs his son's artistic talents and two and the most common one is that little Sam ask Flynn to deliver them to certain programs.
Tron was the one that got most of not all of Sam drawing. Sam drawings that Tron got were of him. Ether by himself or with Tron and Sam together reminiscent a certain dynamic duo. ( You know all that cute kids stuff) Tron couldn't have been more honored and kept every single one that he received.
There would be time were Sam would draw something for a program that Flynn would casually mentioned. Like there were a Time when Flynn mentioned Dyson and how he got injured. So Sam drew him a get well card. With Dyson in the front of it. (To this day Dyson still understands why he still has it. )
Over the cycles after the betrayal ( I can't think of what else to call it) Sam's drawing became a rare art piece and can be worth a lot.
One minacycle Beck, Mara, and Zed actually broke the drawing that Abel has. When Beck rented about it to Tron. Tron was like " that what it is." Then he pulled out a whole bunch of them. Then he tells back to pick one as a replacement. Except his favorites( which is most of them. ) Beck does stare at Tron though ( he sometimes forget that his mentor knew a literal god )
Sam does get embarrassed when he finds them on the grid when he's older.

that #knowingsmile from Ian Flynn about the G.U.N Commander involved in anything SXSG related is the happiest I've ever been about a #knowingsmile no contest MY BOY IS COMING BACK???? THIS IS MY FUCKING MOMENT
like I said before my bro and I love him sm for no reason we've always thought he was so awesome. it's just that this is an Eggman blog so I rarely mention him here lol. he was literally the first thing we turned to each other and considered when we saw the initial reveal trailer
obviously it makes more than enough sense considering he was literally there to witness Shadow's creation and ended up being the last guy on the ARK besides Shadow known to live and he held this hatred towards him for 50+ years, his story is genuinely way more important than people take it for
but the way he just hasn't showed up anywhere in so long besides them using his CG intro shot when Eggman was talking about G.U.N in TailsTube + the way there's been opportunities for him to be in Sonic Channel art with Shadow and Maria but wasn't and hasn't showed up in the polls for the monthly art unlike other obscure characters made us uncertain
but you know if they can have Emerl they can have him so we were like we'll he's GOTTA be but we still didn't wanna get too hopeful because this is big deal to us XD but there you have it. my bro and I are gonna scream when we see him. I already texted him this morning showing him the tweet like BROOO and he was like YOOO lol

The Bond (T. Flynn) 18+
Summary: Bryce introduced you to the frat pack and the bond snapped in place for Flynn but not you.

Tumblr media
Flynn didn't notice when Bryce and you entered the room, but the moment his eyes landed on you, a strange sensation washed over him. In that moment, he felt an undeniable, overwhelming wave of emotions wash over him. It was as if time stood still as he gazed at you, feeling an inexplicable connection that went beyond words. He knew that you were different. He despised the way you stared at him with disdain while the dryad planted kisses on his neck. With a firm hand, he untangled her fingers from his hair and pushed her away before standing up. "Hello, I'm Tristan, but everyone calls me Flynn.”
Ignoring Flynn, you focused your attention on Declan and Ruhn. It was Ruhn who initiated conversation with her next. "Wait. Are you really working at Griffin's too? Jesbia approved of that?"
Flynn's heart raced as you smiled back at Ruhn. "Well, I am her best friend's daughter, so I guess I get special treatment,"
"Hey, [Name]!" A male deer shifter greeted her. "I didn't expect to see you at this party. You rarely attend parties.”
"Cole! Hey. Yeah, Bryce convinced me to come," you explained, embracing him.
Cole glanced at Bryce and grinned at her. "Thanks for bringing her out. Mind if I steal her for a dance?"
Bryce shook her head. "No, go ahead."
With gratitude, Cole took your hand and led you to the dance floor. He spun you around so your back was against his chest, and together they swayed to the music.
The feeling intensified until it clicked into place. Jealousy surged as the mating bond snapped. "Who's that guy?" Flynn asked, his voice tense.
"Cole? He's the son of her dad's best friend, the guy she grew up with," Bryce replied, peering at Flynn. "Why?”
Flynn remained silent, his gaze fixed on his mate dancing with someone else. Flynn's protective instincts surged as he watched Cole disrespecting you. Anger boiled inside him as he saw Cole pinning you against him, ignoring your discomfort.
Flynn threw his beer aside and quickly made his way towards you, ready to intervene. As he got closer, Flynn wasted no time and forcefully shoved Cole away from you. "Do not fucking touch her," he growled, his voice laced with fury and determination to protect you. Cole staggered back, clearly taken aback by Flynn's sudden and forceful intervention.
Cole swung a punch at Flynn, but Flynn skillfully dodged the attack and landed a powerful blow to Cole's nose. Cole stumbled backwards, clutching his bleeding nose in pain. Flynn quickly followed up with a kick to Cole's stomach, causing him to double over in agony. “If you ever come near her again, I will fucking kill you," he whispered menacingly into Cole's ear.
Cole glanced at you, noticing your shocked expression mirrored his own. He shook his head disapprovingly before he exited through the front door. You turned back to Flynn, bewildered, and demanded, "What the fuck was that all about?”
Flynn wrestled with the decision of revealing that you were his mate, but he knew he would want to be informed if he were in your position. "It's just that instinctive Fae male protectiveness that kicks in when it concerns his mate," he explained.
Your eyes widened in realization. "Are you implying that..."
Flynn nodded affirmatively. "That you are my mate? Yes, and judging by your expression, the bond hasn't snapped in place for you.”
You sighed in frustration. "No, it hasn't, and I don't want it to. You're a fucking player, Flynn. Everyone knows that," You stated as you turned and walked away.
Flynn watched you walking out of his house with a heavy heart. He sighed and berated himself mentally, realizing he might have lost you before he could even call you his.
"Nice going, Flynn," Ruhn remarked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Bryce approached him and gave him a pointed look. "If (Name) is truly your mate, here's a piece of advice. She's not into the whole Alphahole act. While she appreciates a protective male, she values sweetness and kindness even more. Your behavior just now and reputation have just killed any chance of the mating bond snapping with her," Bryce advised before following after you.
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
As you were updating the system with the new items, Bryce emerged from the private collection below. You were aware that she wanted to discuss Flynn with you, but you were not ready to have that conversation. Just then, the buzzer from the front door rang, and when you checked the camera feed, Flynn's familiar figure greeted you. With a sigh, you made your way to the door and opened it, greeting him with a curt "What?”
Flynn took his hands from behind his back and presented a bouquet of flowers. “I wanted to apologize for how I acted at the party. My protective instincts took over and I reacted without thinking.”
You folded your arms. “You think I’m mad that you kicked Cole’s ass?”
Flynn hesitated. “Bryce mentioned that you didn't like ‘Alphahole’ behavior.”
You shook your head, expressing your distaste for that word. "I despise that word. Bryce and I obviously have differing opinions on what constitutes 'Alphahole' behavior. I can't blame you for your actions. It's pretty well known that Fae males are extremely protective of their mates. Even if it wasn't a matter of mate protection, you still prevented him from assaulting me further.” You let out a breath. "The bond isn't there for me yet because I'm aware of how you treat women. I know you're a player and I don't want to be with someone who uses women the way you do," you explained, walking back inside. "And these aren't the right flowers either.”
You approached the desk and met Bryce's gaze as he looked at you. "What was his reason for coming over?"
"He wanted to give me flowers and apologize for his behavior," you responded, turning back to the computer to continue typing.
"Did the bond snap?" Bryce asked.
"No, and it likely never will," you replied without shifting your focus from the screen.
"I've known Flynn since I was a child. He's not one to give up easily," Bryce informed you.
You chose not to respond and remained focused on your tasks.
On Tuesday, as you approached the door, he was holding Orchids. "Not the ones,"
But on Wednesday, it was Lilies instead. "Wrong again,"
Thursday brought Carnations. "Still not it,"
Flynn sighed in frustration. "Give me a clue,"
You laughed and replied, "Where's the fun in that?" before closing the door behind you.
On Friday, he showed up with a bouquet of Gardenias. You took it and inhaled the scent. "Did I finally get it right?" Flynn asked eagerly.
You shook your head and said, "Nope."
"Damn, I'll keep trying until I get it," Flynn said, turning to leave.
You grabbed his wrist and chuckled. "Just kidding. You nailed it this time."
Flynn's eyes sparkled. "Really?”
As you smelled the bouquet again, you nodded and asked, "Did Bryce tell you?"
Flynn shook his head. "No, I asked the florist and described you. She said you seemed like a Gardenia type person, so I took a chance."
"Well, she was right," you admitted with a smile.
Flynn’s heart soared when you smiled at him. He really wanted to make you his but he knew he couldn't rush it.
You brushed a hair strand out of your face before speaking. "Let me see your phone," Flynn retrieved his phone from his back pocket, unlocked it, and handed it to you. You quickly added your number to his contacts before returning it to him. "There's my number. But just so we're clear, this doesn't mean anything,”
Flynn smiled as he looked at the contact information before sending you a text so you would have his number. "There's mine," he said.
"Cool. See ya later, Tristan," you replied.
Flynn hadn't been called Tristan in forever and he honestly hated his name, but the way it sounded coming from your lips just made him fall in love with his name all over again.
He couldn't help but feel a warm flush spread through his chest as he heard you say it with such sweetness. It was as if you brought new life to his name. In that moment, he knew that he didn't just want to hear you say his name again. He wanted to hear you say it for the rest of his life, as his partner, his love, his everything.
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
"Really, Tristan?" You questioned as he approached your table at the bar, interrupting your girls' night out.
"Definitely no guys allowed," Bryce chimed in.
It had been a while since Flynn had revealed that you were his mate. Despite his efforts to win you over and assure you of his intentions, you were still skeptical. However, you couldn't deny that you were spending more time with him lately.
You couldn't deny the appeal of Flynn to all the girls. He was attractive, kind, and attentive, but his reputation as a player lingered in your mind.
"Yeah, I know, but with my mate here surrounded by horny males who don't know the word no, I'm here to make she is safe. Don't worry, I'll be elsewhere in the club so you can still enjoy your girls' night out," he assured you, giving a wink before walking away.
"He is making an effort and that's sweet," Bryce remarked.
"Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that he has a reputation as a player," you replied.
"He hasn't shown interest in any other woman since the mating bond snapped," Bryce insisted.
"Well, that's only because I'm his mate. It's not genuine loyalty, just hit the mating bond," you responded, taking a sip of your drink.
"In all my time knowing Flynn, I've never witnessed him putting in this much effort for anyone else. That's all I'm trying to say,”
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
You sank down onto the couch next to Flynn, who had been coming over every day after both of your shifts ended. Surprisingly, you didn't mind his visits at all. He never pressured you to engage in conversation or do anything; he simply wanted to be there with you. You had been learning more and more about him during his visits. For example, you found out that he had a younger sister named Sathia, who he was ten years older than. He was set to inherit his father's title when the time came, but he despised the hierarchy and formality that came with it. He behaves the way he does to demonstrate to his father that he does not want it.
Today, you both had just arrived at your apartment. "What do you want to watch?" you inquired.
"Your call. I'm good with anything," he replied.
"Alright. Let's go with my go-to comfort movie," you decided, going to the streaming service and selecting your comfort movie to start playing.
Flynn reached for his phone and began typing something. You snatched his phone out of his hand to see what he was up to. As you scrolled through the screen, you discovered a document titled "(Name) Likes and Dislikes", containing everything you had mentioned to him since you started spending time together. From your favorite drinks and restaurants to your go-to snacks and preferred movies and shows, Flynn had written all of it down, including your dislikes.
You glanced up from his phone and saw Flynn with his hands clasped behind his head. "I didn't want to forget anything you said, so I made notes. Feel free to look at my phone anytime. You'll see that I'm not chatting with any girls. I've actually blocked all the females from my contacts,"
You scoffed. "Not out of sincerity, but due to the band.”
Flynn sat up on the couch and gazed at you. “Maybe at first, but now? I truly want you in my life. The mating bond aside, my feelings would still be the same. These past few weeks with you have confirmed that. You are the one I see in my future,”
You remained speechless as Flynn sat up on the couch and kissed you. Actually kissed you.
His lips were soft against yours, warm and inviting, and for a moment, you found yourself kissing him back.
His hands gently held your face as the kiss deepened, sparks igniting between you. It felt like time had stopped as you melted into each other, the world around you fading away.
But as quickly as it had begun, the kiss ended, leaving you both breathless and wanting more. "I've been wanting to do that for so long," he whispered, a smile playing on his lips.
You gazed into his eyes, and the sincerity of his desire for you was unmistakable. You can pretend for many things, but the intensity in his gaze was undeniable. As you locked eyes with him, a strange sensation began to well up within you, gradually transforming into an overwhelming pull. It struck you like a bolt of lightning, flooding you with a sense of protection and an immediate, deep affection for him.
You leaned in for another kiss and his lips met yours once again. He gripped your hips tightly, drawing you onto his lap and holding you close. Flynn licked your bottom lip, silently asking for permission to enter, but you teasingly refused. He bit your lip, eliciting a soft moan from you as he slid his tongue into your mouth. The taste of him was intoxicating, sweet and enticing, a flavor that left you craving more.
You withdrew from him, causing a look of confusion to cross his face. "I accept," you declared firmly.
Flynn's expression shifted from confusion to understanding. "You already knew I had accepted," he said with a knowing smile.
His lips moved from your lips to your neck, trailing kisses as his tongue glided down your skin. A soft bite below your jawline made you gasp and instinctively buck against him. Your movements grew more urgent as you grinded against him, eliciting a deep groan as he savored the sensation.
You increased the pace of your movements and grinded against him for a while before Flynn grabbed your waist and roughly laid you on your back. With a quick motion, he pulled down your pants and underwear. Keeping your legs apart, he traced his finger over your wetness, causing you to close your eyes in pleasure. "You're already so soaked for me, my princess," He whispered.
"After feeling your cock against my pussy," You admitted.
He grinned before moving his head between your legs. Without wasting a moment, he explored with his tongue, lips, and teeth, driving you to a moaning frenzy. His techniques left you reeling in pleasure. As he inserted a finger into your slick folds, his tongue worked magic on your clit. With each precise thrust, he skillfully hit all the right spots, causing your arousal to intensify. With one last bit to your clit, you released all over his face.
You attempted to flip both of you over and be on top, but Flynn quickly pinned your hands above your head with one hand. "As much as I crave your pretty little lips around my cock," he whispered, tracing your bottom lip with his thumb, "I need to be inside your pussy."
"Good, because I need you inside me too," you responded.
Flynn released your hands and stood up, removing his pants as you discarded your shirt and bra.
You swallowed nervously and smiled at the sight of his size as he stroked himself a few times before entering you slowly. "Gods," you both gasped as you felt him fill you up.
He started moving slowly, allowing you to adjust to his girth, but there was no pain. In fact, he was just perfect. "Fuck me like you mean jt, Tristan," you pleaded, wanting him to give it his all.
His smirk grew as he pulled out completely before thrusting back in with force. "Oh, god!" You moaned.
The sensation was overwhelming as he continued to thrust into you, his gaze filled with lust and desire. Each thrust sent waves of pleasure coursing through your body, causing you to arch your back and dig your nails into his skin.
His movements were powerful, driving you closer and closer to the edge. You could feel the tension building in your core, aching for release. With one final, deep thrust, you both reached your climax, crying out in ecstasy as the intensity of the moment washed over you.
Flynn leaned in, his forehead touching yours. "I am completely yours in every way," he murmured, his words filled with sincerity and devotion.
his voice low and filled with a deep passion.
You whispered back, "And I am yours, completely and utterly."

Oh now you have me curious about your spicy takes! 👀
hooooo boy okay, some of this is about the franchise and some of this is about the fandom (which I love with all my heart okay please no one throw rocks at me lol)
90% of program/user ships give me the ick
continuing on the shipping train of thought, I don't actually find the Encom trio (Alan/Lora/Flynn) all that compelling as an ot3. and a lot of it is a personal pet peeve I've come across in a number of fandoms, but honestly most m/m/f ot3s feel like they're just a way for people to focus on the m/m dynamic while patting themselves on the back for "including" the female character instead of sidelining her completely........ even though said female character is rarely if ever a major contributor to the dynamic or a focus of whatever fanwork. but on a less meta side eye note I just find the perceived sexual component of Alan and Flynn's relationship to be the least compelling thing they could've had going on
and I know she's barely brought up in canon outside of Betrayal but uhm Jordan exists??? and perhaps it is an unpopular opinion but I would like to see more of her in things instead of relying on Lora to be the only human woman in the Tron universe
once again I might not be so harsh on Uprising if there was more to it, but taking it for what it is and how much of it exists -- a lot of the episodes were boring filler to me. also I don't like how they drew Tron
actually I don't like how Tron has been drawn in any rendered/animated media with the exception of maybe Kingdom Hearts
I don't think of Rinzler as a standalone character, and he's not at all interesting to me when removed from the fact that he is Tron with the serial numbers filed off. I feel like I've increasingly seen people portraying Rinzler as his own thing and it simply does not work for me. I think the whole point of his character / existence is that he doesn't have thoughts or feelings or any real personality of his own. he's a backflipping blank slate whose only real character moments are when Tron's overwritten personality peeks through
to that end I can't conceive of an ending where Tron or anyone around him would allow him to remain as Rinzler, and I can't imagine that Rinzler's capable of forming an autonomous opinion to not want to be Tron again
the fandom collective spends too much time talking about how hot the live action and animated men are and not enough time talking about how hot the Sirens are. or how hot Yori is especially in the deleted love scene. or how hot Paige is. or
Daft Punk (rightfully) gets a lot of hype for the Legacy soundtrack, but Wendy Carlos's soundtrack for 82 is unfairly slept on. love that those funky robots got to cameo, but we should be giving Carlos just as much credit for her work
for as much as it pains me to say it, I don't think Tron ever would've been a tentpole franchise for Disney even if they had treated it better. and it's mostly because of the sad fact that the general public has never been that into Tron. I see it tossed around a lot that Disney ditched Tron in favor of focusing on Star Wars and Marvel. A New Hope -- an original sci fi movie that had absolutely no brand recognition, so to speak -- made over $400 million in 1977. the original Tron made $50 million in 82. the first Iron Man movie -- which sure had comic fan recognition but was still a very early comic blockbuster -- in 2008 made over $500 million. Legacy made just over $400 million in 2010. and Disney advertised the shit out of Legacy, they didn't set it up to fail. yes it sucks that things like Uprising were dealt a bad hand (a garbage release schedule that lead to poor viewership that definitely killed the show), yes it sucks that capitalism impacts what art gets made, but the fact of the matter is that Tron has always had niche appeal, and niche appeal does not a successful franchise make. and while it'd be nice to live in the universe where Tron blew up, I look at what's become of Star Wars and Marvel and maybe I don't lament it all that much

Wednesday Addams Headcanons
Tumblr media
Her favorite serial killer is Jack the Ripper, whose true identity still remains a mystery.
Studies in the school library, always brings a black throw-blanket and a thermos of black coffee with her.
Like her mother, Wednesday is adept at gardening, and has a talent for cultivating exotic and rare plants that thrive in the shadows.
Enjoys bathing in ice-cold water.
Can’t really swim— she prefers to float face-down like a corpse (she can hold her breath for approximately 5 minutes.)
Rarely uses her phone, except for Xavier. Her answer to his calls always starts with “Hello. Who died?”
When she does send a text message, she always starts with a formal greeting, uses complete sentences, and signs off with a closing statement.
Blurts out weird trivia when she’s nervous, especially when she’s with Xavier. (Despite being baffled, he couldn't help but find it endearing.)
Loves the smell of rain, coffee, ink, and old parchment.
Her wardrobe is colored-coded— from the lightest shades of black to the darkest.
Gomez was the one who did her braids each morning before she mastered it herself.
Was prone to sleepwalking as a child.
Wears perfume with dark and subtle scents: her favorite one is Midnight Garden, floral scents with darker undertones: jasmine, patchouli with a hint of smoky incense.
Although being notoriously unfazed by most things that would frighten the average person, Wednesday has a secret phobia of Barney. She avoids any situation that involves the giant purple dinosaur.
Engages in embroidery. She finds sticking needles in and out of things very relaxing.
Listens to classical music on vinyl records. (Bach, Beethoven etc.)
Has a collection of animal bones. She stores them in Xavier’s art shed, in fear that Enid would chew on them.
She is a skillful horsewoman and has black stallion named Daredevil.
Arranges her books in alphabetical order by author's last name.
Her favorite authors: Mary Shelley, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice, Shirley Jackson and Gillian Flynn.
Wednesday fancies the intense flavor of dark chocolate, she refuses to eat anything lower than 90% cocoa content.
Although she often clashes with Pugsley, Wednesday secretly admires his reckless abandon and wishes she could let loose like he does.
She is an excellent baker and is known her treats with unexpected ingredients, such as ghost pepper cupcakes or lavender-infused brownies.

an eye roll concealed with dark sunglasses, the smell of cigarettes covered up with expensive cologne, sunlight reflecting off a freshly waxed ferrari,  a crisp button down tucked into beige pants, an instagram account that’s curated like an art exhibition
bio outline.
the son of a hollywood actress and divorce lawyer for the rich and famous everett was born into a life of glitz and glamour. on the rare occasions his mom spoke to him without a nanny or her celebrity associates present, she told him he deserved the affluent lifestyle he was born into. but she also told him to be cautious because wealth and influence was easy to lose. he lost his childhood sincerity fairly early on in his life due to his mom teaching him to be extremely aware of how he was perceived.
everett’s parents should have divorced a long time ago but they refuse to avoid being humiliated. his mom knew exactly what the tabloid headlines would be and now she knows exactly what people would sarcastically tweet (“wish patricia howard good luck divorcing a lawyer who specializes in high profile divorces-she’s going to need it!”). everett inherited their stubbornness and preoccupation with maintaining a good public image.
his main hobby growing up was acting. he loved the challenge of dissapearing into a character and making someone else's words seem authenic. but as he got older he realised he couldn't pursue acting professionally. his dad told him not to waste his intelligence on acting.his three career options were business, law or medicine.
he is one of two children and he has a complicated relationship with his sister. he loves her and always did ; that was why he decided to bear the brunt of his parents' expectations. but lying for her every time she snuck out and carrying the pressure of being the impeccably behaved golden child put a strain on their relationshipp. he still slightly resents her for making him do that for her even though it was his choice to cover for her and be the golden child.
he was too ambitious to peak in high school but he thrived in high school. he was athletic, competitive about grades and had the perfect superficial charm for high school popularity. his main regret about this time in his life in that it's when he picked up his main vice. evertt started smoking when he was sixteen because he thought it would make him look cool and help him seduce the boy he was pining after. It didn’t help and he would never admit that to anyone. he's embarassed that he started the bad habbit he can't quit because he was pathetically pining after someone.
after graduating high school evertt studied business at harvard. like a lot of harvard graduates with well connected dads everett got a job in finance he was underqualified for. but he soon discovered he hated accounting. he thought it was dull. he dreamed of having a hr job where he could interact with people and maneuver them like chess pieces. four years into the accounting jpb that was killing him everett saw that a pr firm was looking for a social media coordinator. he jumped at the chance to apply. he secured the job through a mix of his resume, charisma and name dropping. he argues that he's not a nepo baby because he doesn't work in the same industry as either of his parents and his dad hates him.
connections.
he's the worst man in the world so of course i want some antagonistic plots.
connection based off the textpost that says ,"me when i get a taste of my personality through someone else: god i can not stand them"
bestie he schemes with. think drea and eleanor from do revenge
childhood friends
unexpected friend
exes on good terms, exes on bad terms, hook ups, fwbs one night stands, a messy situationship ect ect
people he's worked with professionally somehow
neighbours

One of my favorite negative reviews
I can’t find a full text of it online, so I’m going to copy out some big chunks of Stephen Hunter’s retrospective on Gone with the Wind, which apparently resulted in lots of angry letters to the editor.
Long, stupid, ugly and, alas, back for the sixth time (in theaters, innumerable television showings have preceded this rerelease), it is probably the most beloved bad movie of all time, as its adjusted box office gross of $5 billion makes clear. If you love it, that is fine; but don’t confuse its gooeyness, its spiritual ugliness, its solemn self-importance, with either art or craft, for it boasts none of the former and only a bit of the latter. It is one of the least remarkable films of that most remarkable of American movie years, 1939. In fact, far from being one of the greatest American films ever made, I make it merely the twenty-eighth best film of 1939! It may not even have been the best movie that opened on December 15, 1939! It is overrated, overlong, and overdue for oblivion.
Of the various characters and actors:
It’s profoundly misogynistic...the secret pleasure of the film is watching Scarlett O’Hara being punished for the sin of selfhood. The movie delights in her crucifixion, even to the point of conjuring the death of a child as apt punishment for her ambitions. Her sin, really, is the male sin: the pride which goeth before the fall...
Leslie Howard was a great actor and a brave man, who raced home to join his unit when World War II broke out, thereby missing the famous December Atlanta premiere. He was killed in 1943 when the Nazis shot down a plane he was in. Let us lament him as we lament all the men who gave their lives to stop that evil. That said, the truth remains that on screen, he was a feathery creature, best cast as the foil to Bogart’s brutish Duke Mantee in The Petrified Forest, where his cathedral-abutment cheekbones gave him the look of an alabaster saint in the wall of an Italian church. But he was about as believable as a sexual object as he would have been as Duke Mantee...
The wondrous Olivia de Havilland was an actress of spunk and pizazz, and she gave as good as she got, even across from such hammy scene stealers as her longtime costar Flynn. But she, too, is trashed by Gone with the Wind as sugary Melanie Wilkes, a character of such selfless sweetness she could give Santa Claus a toothache.
Of the film as art:
Too much spectacle, not enough action. David O. Selznick, who produced the film and rode it to immortality, didn’t understand the difference between the two. Thus the film has a fabulous but inert look to it; the story is rarely expressed in action but only in diorama-like scenes. It is curiously flat and unexciting. Even the burning of Atlanta lacks dynamism and danger; it’s just a dapple of flickering orange filling the screen without the power and hunger of a real fire. And the movie’s most famous shot- the camera pulling back to reveal Scarlett in a rail yard of thousands of bleeding, tattered Confederate soldiers- makes exactly the wrong point. It seems to be suggesting that Scarlett has begun to understand that the war is much bigger than she is. And yet she never changes. The shot means nothing in terms of character; it’s an editorial aside that really misleads us.
Of the film’s message:
From its opening credits, which characterize the South as a lost land of lords and ladies, to its final images of Tara nestling among the Georgia dogwood, the movie buys into a myth that completely robs the region of its truth. Love it or hate it, it’s a land (as Faulkner knew) in which the nobility of its heroism lived side by side with the ugliness of its Original Sin: slavery. I’m not attacking the South here, just Margaret Michell and Selznick’s version of it. Other movies or 1939 were beginning to find the courage to express some subtle ideas. One of them was John Ford’s Young Mr. Lincoln.
Of its comparison to other 1939 movies:
I found 797 titles from the year 1939, had seen fewer than a tenth of them, and even on that small list there were 27 that struck me as fundamentally better than Gone with the Wind, movies that I would watch again with utter delight. They are: Allegheny Uprising, Another Thin Man, Babes in Arms, Beau Geste, Confessions of a Nazi Spy, Dark Victory, Dodge City, Drums Along the Mohawk, Golden Boy, Gunga Din, Juarez, The Light that Failed, Made for Each Other, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Ninotchka, Of Mice and Men, The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex, The Real Glory, The Roaring Twenties, Stagecoach, The Story of Alexander Graham Bell, The Three Musketeers, Union Pacific, The Wizard of Oz, The Women, Wuthering Heights, and Young Mr. Lincoln.
Dammit, my dear, I’m just being frank.

SIX CHARACTER INSPIRATIONS — VALERIUS DRAGAVEI
Both @halkuonn and @dragonologist-phd suggested Valerius, so Valerius it is. Explanations are under the cut. Art is from @swordcoasts
BILLY FLYNN (CHICAGO, 2002)
Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the silver tongued prince of the court room - the Emcee, All I Care About Is Love
When I think corrupt lawyers, two come to mind: Saul Goodman and Billy Flynn. And because I'm in the process of watching Breaking Bad but haven't come across Saul yet, I can't add him to the list retroactively. But I can add Billy; I think about the line "Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the silver tongued prince of the court room" a lot for Valerius once I'd established that he had been a criminal lawyer before he became an antipaladin of Urgathoa, and I realised that in his lawyer days, Camellia is exactly the sort of client he would have taken on in another life - it felt...eerily reminiscent of Billy Flynn to me, especially since towards the end of his career, he had a near 100% success rate because of his vampiric charms, and not because he actually did well at the University of Lepidstadt (he would've actually failed several classes, had he not done some stuff that is between him and Urgathoa), and very rarely did he care about his clients in the same way Billy doesn't care about his.
SORIN MARKOV (MTG, SPECIFICALLY INNISTRAD: CRIMSON VOW, 2021)
"It's always morally correct to steal from WOTC" - me, circa 2021 as I left my last job.
So if you feel like you've seen that picture before, it's because it was. For the longest time, I've been using Sorin Markov ala Innistrad: Crimson Vow as a portrait for Valerius, and that's because around the same time that WOTR came out and my son came to be, Crimson Vow was in its pre-release cycle. Now, I used to work in a WPN (Wizards' Premium Network) store, so MTG pre-releases were always our busiest periods. I injured my feet shifting stock for this Godforsaken deck, and so once I settled on Valerius as my WOTR pc and was taking medical leave until the end of my contract, I decided that the least WOTC could do was provide the portrait for my handsome dhampir lad as reparations lmao. Of course, Valerius' appearance has varied and strayed, so he's a not one to one copy (and I wouldn't want him to be <3) but including Sorin felt correct. Sorry, buddy, you're Valerius to me now.
(Though, both Valerius and Sorin have dedicated a great portion of their lives to their whims and pleasure, leading them to have a detachment, confidence and seeking out new experiences for the novelty and diversions.)
SAREVOK ANCHEV (BALDUR'S GATE 1, 1998)
Your death is inevitable.
The Sarevok I'm referring to for this is exclusively in the original game — on paper, Valerius and Sarevok have enough similarities that I consider him a retroactive inspiration: they both utilise an extremely similar combat style that combines the art of intimidation, strength, cruelty and brutality on the battlefield that seeks to control and paralyse enemies, as well as deal hard-hitting blows. Deathbringers and Tyrants, at least, can have that in common. They both can be seen as a deity of death's Special Boy (Sarevok, as Bhaal's strongest progeny; Valerius, who believes himself Urgathoa's favourite antipaladin) before a fall from grace or death proves them otherwise, and both of them cause widespread panic and chaos through the iron shortages / string of Bhaalspawn murders and Valerius killing what was left of Mendev's royal line and subsequently breaking Drezen from its sovereignty.
GOMEZ ADDAMS (THE ADDAMS FAMILY, 1991 & 1993)
To mirth, to merriment… to manslaughter.
I'd say Valerius is a little bit of an evil variant of Gomez in his own way. Both are madly in love with their tall, dark-haired wives (and can be exceptionally jealous if someone else was to flirt with them), regularly smoke cigars (for Valerius it's not so much about the hit itself, since tobacco doesn't really do anything for him, but more the act of it and the level of sociability that comes with smoking - e.g. with Greybor), skilled at swordsmanship, and would harm anyone that would endanger their children.
VLAD DRACULA III (BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA, 1992)
I love you too much to condemn you.
As inaccurate as this movie is at times, I actually love Gary Oldman's Dracula and a bit of him did rub off on Vali. A Church Militant type, fighting for a God(dess), born from an ancient, prestigious line; who falls either because or in part of the love for their partner - Vlad because he was told Elisabeta's soul was damned , Valerius because he refused to damn Camellia's to ascend - and a perceived Fallen Hero from the eyes of the Church and the Fifth Crusade respectively.
Both also have, ahem, exceptional prowess (judging by dialogue), are considered well-dressed, attractive (at least in Vlad's younger form), and they even both share the tears of blood.
EDWARD HYDE (JEKYLL & HYDE, 1990)
I have an adversary steeped in sin — Henry Jekyll, Streak of Madness
What better inspiration of Valerius' most base desires is there than the personification of a man's? Edward Hyde serves as a way for Henry Jekyll to indulge in his desires, pursue what he would not otherwise engage in - soliciting sex, committing murder, and generally not depriving himself of anything. It reminds me a lot of Valerius' own hedonistic tendencies, and how he tends to corrupt or encourage others' base desires around him — life is short, and one day we shall all meet our inevitable ends in the form of death, so seize life has to offer and do not deprive yourself. Indulge.

For the Disney day of the event, to kind of take a beloved topic and use it for the various fandoms, I decided to do a little post about the Mystic Messengers and their favourite Disney characters! I hope you lovelies will enjoy!
Jihyun’s mother liked to show him Disney movies in various languages on the rare occasions she got to spend overnights with him. She would always end their evenings with one before bedtime, so V became knowledgeable about at least the classic Disney movies. He always particularly loved Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She loved the Beast for everything he was, even the worst of him, was truly kind while being intelligent and he loved everything about that movie, from the love story to the songs to the art and the villains.
Jumin has watched almost all the Disney films as they came out and has been to the majority of the Disney parks. His father definitely thought that Disney was something of a cultural touchstone, especially among children, and that it would give Jumin something to talk about with other children, such as those born to the Chairman’s business contacts. Because Jumin grew up with them, he finds he has a nostalgic connection with Disney and does keep up with the newer movies. His favourite is a more recent one, but he really enjoys Coco. The music, the colours and art, the storyline, he felt it was all really beautiful. However, as much as he loves the movie and feels for the main character, his favourite character is still from the classic movies, Quasimodo. It was actually the animated Hunchback of Notre Dame that made Jumin want to go and read the classic novel.
Zen loves Disney movies because they’re the perfect mix of music and story. He prefers the movies that have more music in them and can do perfect renditions of all of his favourite Disney songs, especially ‘Go The Distance’ from Hercules. Speaking of Hercules, it’s his second favourite Disney movie. Aladdin just barely tops it out for his most favourite and it’s Aladdin himself who is Zen’s favourite Disney character.
Jaehee has actually gone her whole life without seeing any of the animated Disney films. Any Disney film she has seen is only because it was a film made by someone else that Disney acquired the rights to. Because of this, she does technically have a favourite Disney character, with it being Maria from The Sound of Music.
Yoosung actually is another one who really does enjoy Disney films, even as an adult. He’s watched the majority of the classics, with The Lion King being his favourite. He loves Simba and kind of wished he could be like Simba when he was a kid, but as an adult, his favourite character would have to be Marlin from Finding Nemo. That movie always makes Yoosung tear up every time he watches it.
Saeyoung gets into moods where he’ll want to binge Disney films, just because they’re usually light watches, with happy endings and catchy music, and they don’t take a lot of mental power to watch. He really, really connected to Stitch from Lilo & Stitch for reasons he can’t even rightly explain and it’s his favourite Disney character by far.
Saeran, for the aesthetics and for the story, really does enjoy The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus both. They’re the only Disney movies he really watches with any regularity, as Disney movies aren’t normally really his thing. His favourite character is actually Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, with Binx from Hocus Pocus being a really close second.
Vanderwood has actually never watched a Disney movie in his life up until he met Saeyoung. It’s Seven who makes Vanderwood sit through them whenever Saeyoung gets in a Disney mood, so his choice of characters is based off the maybe four Disney movies he’s ever seen. I do think Vanderwood really enjoys the more live action Disney movies, and his favourite is Tron Legacy, with Sam Flynn being his favourite Disney hero.
Rika always connected more with the villains in Disney films than the heroes. It’s really hard for her to pick an absolute favourite among them but she’s really fond of both Maleficent and Ursula. She especially loves Ursula’s voice, which she finds really soothing for some reason and she knows all the words to ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’.

I understand not liking something or that it is not to your taste. But I am tired of things that I like being shit on constantly. If you don't like it or prefer something else, don't keep bringing it up or getting rude at someone else for liking it. Of course, this post is about the whole IDW vs Archie, but I believe it can be applied to many things.
I grew up with Archie somewhat, but only a Readers Digest every 4-6 months because we rarely went out. I grew up with disjointed comics and honestly? bad art. I have some of Tracy Yardley's back before he really got into a groove and colourers didn't really seem to care so there were lots of off-model colouring. When we finally got internet at my age of 14/15, I was immediately drawn in by the UK's Sonic the Comic. It was odd, it was trippy, and overall very memorable and fun for me (even if unintentionally). Amy was my favorite character and I would draw and write her like STC's scrappy tomboy Amy (doesn't help that I was doing archery at the time so I latched onto a cool female archer character). However, there wasn't very much recognition for my favorite comic, so I made do with Archie.
When Archie Sonic was canceled, I was upset a bit, but I saw it coming (fuck Ken Penders). When IDW picked it up, the consistent art and bright colours lured me in as well as building off of what Forces should've been (which is to say "good"). I loved Tangle and Whisper and for a bit Whisper was my new fixation (Rouge will forever be my absolute favorite Sonic female). But I noticed a massive amount of hate. I knew this would happen because fandoms rarely let a cancellation slide, let alone a fandom like Sonic. Especially to be replaced by another series with no returning original cast.
However, I was hoping it would disappear over time and Archie Sonic is remembered as "fun, dramatic, and mostly well written." especially as it was the longest running video game based comic ever (that I know of). But it hasn't. IDW isn't perfect, Ian Flynn isn't perfect, Sega isn't perfect, nor is Sonic Team. The writing can be off, Flynn does have the odd urge to put random music lyrics into dialogue awkwardly, Shadow is...off putting for any fan to say the least, the pacing could be better, and the constant delays are incredibly annoying.
Criticism is one thing, but constant hate and shit stirring is another. Please stop and be kind to your fellow fans. There are plenty of Sonic media for anyone. Whether it be games; Classic era, Adventure era, "modern" era, etc. Shows; SATAM, AOSTH, Prime, Boom, Underground. Movies; Sonic Cinematic Universe, OVA. Or Comics; Archie, IDW, STC, manga, etc.
So please calm down and either enjoy or at least appreciate what we have or go back and reread what you already love. Or make your own. That is always an option. I do sometimes, I even created a "Reboot" universe of sorts with my sister (though i am too scared to share it)
