Here's something interesting I don't think I ever saw posted here: There's this VHS tape that was sold as a promo for the american release of YGO Duel Monsters, and in it we have Greg Abbey (second voice for Tristan and Yusei from 5Ds) as Yugi!
Accourding to both him and Dan Green in some interviews, he was the first choice for Yugi, but ended up getting busy so they replaiced him by the time they started actually dubbing the show.
Interesting enough, Dan Green IS in the promo, but he's the narrator in the beginning. There's also Pegasus trying to sell you a bunch of merch and a really cheesy rap song.

I don't have any proof for it but i do remember taehyung saying it i mean there's no video proof of it but it's in written form (i might even have it's SS but i will never be able to find it now) so taehyung says that about a skit that he wanted to Act it with jimin but jimin was awakwrd doing that acting so he did it with jungkook. It's like basically jm is bad/awakwrd actor at that time 😂 this is from old times though so it will be hard to find out. I think the skit was something like looking at eachother and falling in love and something.
And now I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! Thank you!! From Haru Haru Vol 22 in 2014. The moment in question was from a V, JK, and Jin interview segment:
Q: If you had to make Jungkook happy within an hour, what would you do?
Jin: I will take Jungkook out to eat. There were several times when my parents and I took Jungkook out to eat. He eats so well when we take him to restaurants that Busan doesn’t have – I’m also very happy. I think we ate meat at a hotel right?
Jungkook: It was super delicious!
V: I will act out skits with Jungkook. We usually start acting when we face each other. The topic will change according to the current situation. If it’s a sad (skit), I will suddenly drop down to my knees when I see Jungkook. And Jungkook will also kneel down…
Jin: That really does happen. I don’t participate and only watch on the side. I would go, “Ah, they’re starting again..” (laughs).
V: Sometimes we would deliberately act out romance skits face-to-face. Jungkook would go “da da da” and start singing his own BGM. We’ll also act when we’re eating. (Reenacted live: they were doing eating motions and suddenly stopped in the middle of reaching over to grab food, and raised their heads to face each other. They revealed their expressions of falling in love.) I just simply wanted to act it and only Jungkook naturally and slowly did it with me. I also did it a few times with Jimin but it didn’t go as smoothly as it does with Jungkook… (Jimin: I guess I still have learning to do.)

Hopefully this is correct and what you were looking for? Thank you for explaining more!!

4K UHD Review: The Guyver
Following in the wildly successful footsteps of Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Guyver takes a (relatively) grounded approach to its outlandish source material — in this case, a Japanese manga series — without divorcing itself from its comic book roots. Produced by Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator, Society), the 1991 film is directed by special effects wizards Screaming Mad George (Society, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) and Steve Wang (Predator, The Monster Squad).
As the Star Wars-esque expository opening crawl explains, mankind was created by aliens as an organic weapon. The evil Chronos corporation is further developing a technology that allows humans to change into "super monster soldiers" known as Zoanoids for world domination. The only viable defense against them is The Unit, a piece of bio-booster alien armor that increases a human's natural powers a hundredfold, turning them into The Guyver.
Mark Hamill's top billing may lead you to believe that he's the titular hero, but he instead plays a supporting role as a CIA agent investigating Chronos. The real lead is Jack Armstrong (Student Bodies) as Sean Barker, an amateur martial artist who's the only person that can activate The Unit. When his girlfriend (Vivian Wu, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III) is endangered, Sean utilizes his newfound powers to take down Chronos and the Zoanoids.
Armstrong is a bland lead, but it's not entirely his fault. In addition to a mustachioed Hamill channeling Colombo, he has to compete with several scene-stealing character actors. Re-Animator's David Gale chews the scenery as the malevolent head of Chronos, briefly reuniting with Jeffrey Combs as the company's scientist, Dr. East (get it?). Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) plays Gale's right-hand Zoanoid with Jimmie Walker (Good Times) as his rapping goon. Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead) cameos as a scream queen.
But the real stars of the show are the creatures, the designs of which showcase boundless creativity. The Guyver looks like Ultraman by way of Clive Barker, and each Zoanoid adopts a different animal's traits. While a number of other artists were employed to pull off the myriad of monsters, George and Wang's fingerprints are all over the effects, imbuing the alien superhero movie with some disturbing body-horror.
Jon Purdy's script deviates significantly from source material not only in terms of story but also tone. While some of the manga's dark atmosphere and violence remain intact, it's undercut by goofy humor in an attempt to appeal to a younger demographic. Fans of Yoshiki Takaya's original creation were no doubt disappointed (Wang attempted a bit of a course correction with his 1994 sequel, Guyver: Dark Hero), but the tonal confusion is actually charming.
Originally cut down to a PG-13 rating in the US, The Guyver has been newly restored in 4K from the original, R-rated 35mm camera negative with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 options for Unearthed Films' 4K UHD + Blu-ray release. Far removed from the days of Jaws and Alien in which the monster was largely hidden in shadows, George and Wang put their creations on full display — and even with a crystal-clear restoration, the in-camera effects shine.
Two new audio commentaries are included. The first is a lively one with George and Wang, moderated by Budget Biomorphs: The Making of The Guyver Films author Dom O’Brien. It's not the most informative track — the filmmakers admit to not having seen the film in over two decades — but they're enjoying themselves so much that it hardly matters. The second commentary features creature crew members "Evil" Ted Smith and Wyatt Weed, who delve into the nitty-gritty of the effects.
Yuzna and George each sit down for thorough new interviews. Yuzna reveals that he's been approached about a remake, but the rights are complicated, while George's infectious energy lasts the entire 56 (!) minutes. Creature suit camera test footage is included with commentary options from George and Wang or Smith and Weed, while outtakes and a gag reel feature George and Wang commentary.
Other extras include: alternate title sequences in English, German and Spanish; English, German, Spanish, and French trailers (all carrying the alternate title Mutronics); and extensive promotional and production galleries. The collector's edition also comes with the soundtrack CD composed by Matthew Morse (Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker) and a booklet featuring liner notes by O’Brien and Morse.
The Guyver is available now on 4K UHD via Unearthed Films.

A TALK WITH “SHEZOW” CREATOR OBIE SCOTT WADE
POSTED BY KYLE ANDERSON ON JUNE 3, 2013
On Friday, we told you about the new Hub Network cartoon series, SheZow, about the exploits of a boy who leads a double life as a superhero. A lady super hero. The creator of this unique children’s show is Obie Scott Wade, who was kind enough to answer some of our questions about the show’s inception, its place in superhero mythos, and the controversy that’s already brewing over it.
NERDIST: How did you come up with such a unique idea for a TV show, much less one aimed at kids?
OBIE SCOTT WADE: I first had the idea when I was a kid. I grew up loving superheroes, and one day was struck with the question. What would happen if I put on a superhero power ring that was meant for a woman? Would I get her powers? Would I suddenly be dressed in her super clothes? And I assumed the answer was yes. As a kid, I was a huge fan of TV in general and I especially loved Bewitched. From a very young age I dreamed of growing up and creating my own TV show about somebody with a magic secret, and it became SheZow.
N: In the first episode, Guy is actively against girly things; at what point in the idea process did you decide to comment on gender roles in society?
OSW: I didn't decide to comment on gender roles. I just set out to make a comedy. Commenting on gender roles was never my goal. I just wanted to make a TV show that I'd imagined as a kid. I did, however, need Guy to be a rough-and-tumble boy in order for the conflict to be present in the story when he changes into SheZow.
N: What was your pitch like to The Hub and how much of the concept changed from conception to now?
OSW: We originally pitched the series to Ted Biaselli at The Hub. He was our biggest supporter there. Ted's advice was invaluable. The concept never changed throughout the entire production process but the execution and the approach to storytelling did morph over time. And that's a good thing. We stayed fluid during the story development phase and tried new things. Some things worked, some didn't. It really developed as we went along.
N: There's already some controversy brewing over the show; how do you react to some of the fervor around it?
OSW: I would just ask that people actually watch the show before they develop an opinion about it.
N: At some point, will Guy's sister, Kelly, get to be a superhero? Maybe one that's traditionally a dude?
OSW: Good question. I want to say "yes" but you'll just have to wait and see.
N: Do we get to learn about the history of the SheZow persona a bit more? More of Aunt Agnes and her adventures?
OSW: Yes, we do. There is a time travel episode in which Guy meets some of the SheZows past including 1920's Flapper SheZow, Wild West SheZow and the original SheZow whose name is She-anderthal.
A hero needs good villains, so who are some of SheZow's rogue's gallery people can look forward to seeing? I think we have a great group of comedic villains like Candy Rapper, a rapping candy bar, and Mocktopus, a silly sea monster with a tendency to mock people. But one of my favorites is Tattoozala. He's the world's oldest tattooed villain, who possesses the power to bring to life the creatures tattooed on his body. By uttering the phrase "Inkubate" he summons these monsters and they attack SheZow.
N: What do you hope audiences, and maybe specifically young male audiences, get out of watching the show?
OSW: Laughter. The best times in life are those filled with laughter. SheZow's just a comedy that's finding its place in the superhero universe, and I'm happy to learn that it's appealing to both boys and girls.
SheZow airs Saturdays at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT on Hub.

Words: 1,825
POV: 3rd Person
Pairing: TFW x Male!Reader [Platonic]
Warning(s): The term 'wet ass pussy' is used frequently, crack!fic, embarrassment, discomfort, language, I cried laughing while writing this...
Summary: When the reader decides to listen to music in order to combat the exhausting amount of research he has to do, a certain angel hears the lyrics of one of the songs, leading to some rather...uncomfortable questions.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
A monster had entered Lebanon, and no one had any idea what it was. Some signs pointed to vampires, others pointed towards a werewolf, and Dean swore there were signs of wendigo activity, but Sam was skeptical about Dean’s findings. After they interviewed the victims’ families and searched around the sites where the individuals were last seen, the group was still limited on clues that would give them a definite answer. So, they decided to head back to the bunker and do the one thing they were least excited to do;
Research.
They knew that it was going to be a gruesome task - looking through all the text in the Men of Letters bunker - to try and find exactly what they were hunting. They enlisted the help of Castiel, giving him his first taste of what researching entailed. The four of them were gathered around a table in the library, noses deep in books and websites as they scoured the seemingly endless resources at their disposal.
After several hours, multiple closed tabs, and two stacks of books, they seemed to be getting nowhere. Everyone was starting to feel fatigued and all of them wanted nothing more than to take a break. However, despite the feeling of exhaustion, they kept going. It was different when the unknown monster was right on their doorstep.
(Y/N) let out a sigh as Sam dropped the book in front of him, a cloud of dust emitting from the leather-bound cover. He coughed and covered his mouth.
“Care to explain why we can’t take a break from research?” (Y/N) questioned, clearing his throat as he raised a brow.
Sam walked over to the other side of the table, sitting down with his book in hand. “The monster’s not going to take a break from killing people, so we can’t take a break from researching.” He replied, a sigh following his response.
(Y/N) groaned. He unclipped the binding on the side of the book and opened it up to reveal the yellowed pages. “I wish these damned monsters would get a life and take a vacation.” He grumbled.
Dean snorted from beside his brother, eyes glued to his laptop as he took a swig of beer. “You and me both.”
“Well, if I’m going to keep researching, then I’m going to be listening to music while I do so,” (Y/N) reached into his pocket, pulling out his phone and earbuds. He placed one into his ear. “Just tap my shoulder if y’all need something,” he mumbled before placing the other bud into his ear.
He began to search through the different playlists that he made, each of them meant for a different mood he was in. There was a playlist dedicated to helping him relax, one to help wake him up, one to help him sleep, one to pump him up for upcoming hunts, and many more. At that point, the last thing he wanted to listen to was quiet, soothing music. He needed something to keep him awake and hype him up while continuing the research. Once he settled on a playlist, he clicked on the first song before setting his phone down on the table beside him.
The music soon began to flow through the earbuds, encasing (Y/N) in his own little world as his gaze moved to the text in front of him. For several minutes, his eyes were trained on the book as different pop, hip-hop, and rap songs filled his ears. His head moved up and down slowly in a rhythmic motion as he read over the faded words, flipping the pages to try and find the answer they needed.
Soon, a familiar tune filled his ears, followed by the words to one of his favorite songs.
Whores in this house
There's some whores in this house
There's some whores in this house
There's some whores in this house (hol' up)
I said certified freak, seven days a week
Wet ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo! (Ah)
(Y/N)’s head movements immediately shifted to the rhythm of the song and he fought back the urge to sing along. As the song played, he was finding it more and more difficult to focus on the book rather than the lyrics. It was a great distraction from the necessary research at hand.
Tie me up like I'm surprised
Let's role-play, I wear a disguise
I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage
Make it cream, make me scream
Out in public, make a scene
I don't cook, I don't clean
But let me tell you, I got this ring (ayy, ayy)
(Y/N) had now completely abandoned the book in front of him as he continued to listen to the song. His eyes were still cast down at the book, but nothing was sinking in as he scanned over the same line of text over and over again. He began to sing along to the song in his head.
Gobble me, swallow me, drip down the side of me (Yeah)
Quick, jump out 'fore you let it get inside of me (Yeah)
I tell him where to put it, never tell him where I'm 'bout to be (Huh)
I'll run down on him 'fore I have a (Ayy) runnin' me
A light tap on his shoulder startled (Y/N) from his trance. He turned towards the direction of the tap to see Castiel pulling his hand back towards him. (Y/N) raised his brows as he reached over, paused the song, then took one of his earbuds out.
“Yeah?” He asked.
Castiel stared at him with a confused expression, opening his mouth to speak but finding himself unable to find the words that he was looking for. He looked down at the table, the floor, then back at (Y/N). (Y/N) reached up and took his other earbud out, giving Castiel his full attention.
“What’s up, Cas?” He asked once more.
Still, Castiel couldn’t seem to form the question he wanted to ask. Dean glanced up over his computer screen and took another sip of beer. “Just spit it out, Cas,” he chimed in.
Castiel was finally able to find the words that he was looking for. “(Y/N)...” he trailed, his voice filled with uncertainty. “What is…what does ‘wet ass pussy’ mean?”
Dean choked on his beer, causing it to spill out of the corners of his mouth. It threw Dean into a coughing fit. He scooted his chair back and leaned forward. Sam stared at Castiel with wide eyes for a moment before he looked over at his brother. He reached over and began to pat his back. Meanwhile, (Y/N) stared at Castiel with a wide deer-in-headlights look, mouth hung open. Castiel studied the three for a moment before he shrunk back into his seat.
“Did I say something inappropriate?” He asked in a quiet tone, a look of shame crossing his face.
(Y/N)’s mouth moved up and down, the flabbergasted expression still present on his face as he tried to think of a response. At that point, Dean had stopped coughing and his and Sam’s eyes were staring right at (Y/N).
“Um…uh…” (Y/N)’s mind was blank, still in shock from the question. Castiel stared at him intently, sharp blue eyes seemingly piercing into his soul. Finally, (Y/N) cleared his throat and sat up. “Why, um…why do you ask?”
Castiel gave a gentle nod toward (Y/N)’s phone. “You were listening to a song.” He said. “It mentioned something about ‘wet ass pussy’. I’ve never heard that term before, so I was curious as to what it meant.”
“Was my music too loud?” (Y/N) asked, trying to steer clear of any explanation he had to give. He glanced towards Sam, then Dean, then finally at Castiel.
Sam and Dean shook their heads in response, their eyes still attached to him. Castiel shook his head as well.
“No. your music was at an adequate volume. I heard it in your head.”
“Ah…” (Y/N) nodded his head slowly. He folded his hands on the table in front of him and bit his lip.
“I believe ‘wet ass pussy’ has something to do with sex when it is compared to the other lyrics of the song.”
“Cas, can you please stop saying ‘wet ass pussy’.” (Y/N) spoke in a slightly strangled tone of voice.
“Was I correct?”
(Y/N) hesitated for a moment before he looked towards the brothers, who both had mirroring looks of amusement. “A little help here,” he grumbled between gritted teeth.
Sam and Dean both shook their heads. Sam threw his hands up, signaling that he was staying out of it while Dean smirked and reached for his beer again. “This is all on you, buddy,” he piped up.
(Y/N) let out an exasperated sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair stressfully. Certainly, he couldn’t explain what ‘wet ass pussy’ meant to an angel, right? That was just guaranteeing him a one-way ticket to Hell at that point. He weighed his options. He could be teased relentlessly as he explained what the term meant to Castiel while simultaneously securing the number one spot in Hell next to Crowley, or he could be teased regardless and hope that he could still get into Heaven.
He decided to save himself from any further embarrassment.
Quickly, (Y/N) stood from his seat, the legs of the chair scraping against the concrete floor. He closed the book in front of him and brought it close to his chest.
“I think I’m going to continue researching in my room.” He stated.
He grabbed his phone and struggled to place it into his pocket, followed by his earbuds, before escaping the room as quickly as he could. Sam and Dean watched him with smirks on their faces while Castiel just watched in confusion as his friend retreated. Sam and Dean looked at one another, Sam shaking his head before he returned to the book in front of him. Dean, on the other hand, let out a deep chuckle before turning his attention back to the computer screen. Castiel’s eyes were cast down, his lips pursed and back slouched ever so slightly.
After a while, Castiel sat upright in his seat and placed his folded hands in his lap.
“What is ‘wet ass pussy?” He asked, looking towards Sam and Dean for some type of answer.
Sam and Dean looked up at him, then at each other, then back at him.
“We’ll have (Y/N) tell you later, Cas,” Sam finally answered.
Seeming slightly satisfied with the response, the three of them got back to researching while (Y/N) sat in his room, forgetting about the case altogether and trying his best to rid himself of the horrible feeling of discomfort he was experiencing.

Hey Rosie.
Does this story for younger Jikook hold any truth in it?
So apparently Jimin was having an unhealthy diet and although all the members told him to stop he only did once Jungkook asked him too. And if it true please provide original content on the case. Thank you.
You know, the time it sometimes takes me to find the content you guys ask for is the same time you could use to look it up yourselves. Some of you are a bit lazy aajajjaaj. The last part of your ASK sounds a bit authoritative, and I didn’t like that, but I’ll post your ASK anyway.
It didn't happen exactly like that.
In an interview BTS did during the Danger Era with 10+ Asia Star 2014 October Issue, the interviewer mentioned that they’d lost weight, and Jin explained that Jimin was on a strict diet, only eating once a day. But then Jimin started eating regularly and didn’t worry about it anymore. After that, Jungkook started doing the same, and Jimin told him that if he kept it up, he’d get sick. I guess Jin mentioned it because Jimin didn’t think it was bad when he did that, but he thought it was when Jungkook did. I’ll share the translation of that part of the interview:
(...)
Q: You’ve all lost a lot of weight.
Jimin: We wanted to show a manly image.
Rap Monster: Jimin takes care of his body the most.
Jin: He only eats one meal a day.
Jimin: It was only in the past. Now I’m taking a good control.
Jin: When he was eating one meal a day, I really worried about his health and told him that he would get ill. And then he started to eat regularly so I didn’t need to worry. Then afterwards, Jungkook copied him and started to eat one meal a day. Then Jimin told Jungkook that if he continues to be on diet like that he would get ill. Haha.
Q: What one meal a day?!
Jungkook: Lunch.
Jimin: I ate between breakfast and lunch time.
Jin: From 10 months before our debut, I only ate two pieces of chicken breast a day. I tried and I was starving. So I tried to stop the dongsaengs, but they didn’t listen. I think they have to experience it themselves to understand.
V: Before debut, we all had to be on diet. When we made sandwiches to eat, we had to get rid off the all the fat/ oil, even on the tuna. (Rap Monster: It tasted so bad.) Rap Monster hyung and I were like what should we do to get out of this?
Rap Monster: How can we go to the convenience store without getting caught? Hahaha. But Jimin didn’t cheat. Because he was concerned that he looked chubby on the camera. Everyone has their own priorities, right. V and I control what we eat, but these members are doing it too much, we are like “ah… we need to eat to live so eat a little bit more.” In fact, the amount of exercise is seriously a lot even if we’re only practicing the dance choreography, so even if we eat a little bit more, we won’t put on weight.
Q: Jimin seems like the type that would to be very harsh on himself.
Rap Monster: He’s strict with himself.
Jimin: But compared to Jungkook… haha
Rap Monster: Jungkook is an alien.
Jimin: I take good control of my meals, but Jungkook is the type that thinks ‘ah, do I need to lose weight today?’ and then he wouldn’t even eat one meal.
Rap Monster: But at the same time, when he sees other hyungs eating he would be like oh I should eat some too. Have you ever played starcraft? (Q: No, but I know what it is.) Jungkook is like the steam bags that marine uses. When you use the steam bag, the HP (strength) will be gone, you die in one round but while you’re using it, it breezes up and speeds up. On one day, Jungkook would be “(as if he’s exploding) euhahaha!” and then the next day, “(as if he’s fed up/ worn out) ah ah…” (Jimin: look at how he’s describing. It’s so funny. Haha) When Jungkook is using the steam bag; no one can mess with him. He’s scary.

Here's another fic idea I had that I'll likely never actually write. This was my original plan for Bad Sansuary actually, but the prompts wouldn't have worked and I knew seven chapters for each of them wouldn't be enough to develop their characters. I also only got as far as writing down an idea for Killer...
It was inspired by @/popatochisssp 's fic, The Skeleton Crew, which I highly recommend!
Bad Sans Prison Oneshot Idea
The idea is there is a maximum security prison where monsters and even humans are kept. Monster's magic is suppressed with both a drug that they must take regularly and with an on site machine that makes a barrier that no monster can enter or leave without being allowed to. Only the worst humans are sent to this prison and it is basically considered a death sentence because even without magic, monsters are incredibly dangerous.
MC is journalist that is part of a crew making a documentary on several of the monsters in the prison. Generally she interviews the monsters and asks them questions. Although she is almost never alone with any of them, the documentary is taking several months to film and her coworker begins to get lazy, sneaking away during the sessions to meet with a member of staff they've been eyeing. While MC is frustrated at first, she lets it go because the additional privacy lets the monsters she's interviewing open up a bit more. She is particularly interested in three prisoners with almost no documentation but each have a rap sheet a mile long.
Killer
He was captured about a year ago and charged with the murder of twelve people, as such he was sentenced for life. Almost nothing is known about him though, such as the true number of his victims, where he came from, what his true name is, etc. Killer of course refuses to answer any of these questions, and often mocks the guards about his true victim count yet never admits to anything. He tends to make light of the situation and doesn't seem to believe, or maybe refuses to, that he'll be locked up for much longer. He claims his boss will come for him and then everyone will see.
Over time though, MC begins to see how frustrated he is becoming with being locked up. Despite what he'd let you believe, he is beginning to worry that Nightmare isn't coming for him. The thought is beginning to drive him mad too and while he may appear friendly, he is one bad day away from snapping.
Killer flirts relentlessly with Reader and often makes jokes, which really gets to her at first. She pushes through for whatever reason and eventually begins to see a different side to him. He is definitely a dangerous person and he definitely killed those people and likely thousands more, but she still feels a little sympathy for him. His charisma begins to get to her.
One day, MC is about to leave when a prison riot breaks out. She is caught in the middle and a monster attacks her. Killer shows up and defends her, although in doing so, she gets to witness everything he was rumoured to be. He doesn't even need to use his magic and nearly kills the monster, although hesitates in landing the final blow. He decides not to kill in front of Reader and sits with her until the riot ends.
This does change her opinion of him drastically and she makes an effort to keep seeing him, even outside of her work hours to get to know him a bit better.
#raccoons rambles#undertale#killertale#something new#killer sans#i like this idea too much to delete it from my notes#but i don't have time to write it#or the emotional energy to really sell it#if anyone wants to take a shot at it i give you full permission#just tag me so i can see it!#yes mc would likely assist breaking killer out of prison#possibly having to summon nightmare to concince him to take him back#nightmare left killer there as a punishment or something#so glad i went with the other idea i had for bad sansuary#this could've been an alternate version of minty

my Artist of the Year for 2024 is...
Kendrick Lamar!
i'm not sure if Kendrick entered the year with big plans. maybe "GNX" comes out and gets some attention. maybe he drops a collab or three -- he's usually good for those. maybe he gets a feature interview in a magazine. but the endless chaos of the simulation we call life cares not for our plans (or our lack thereof).
so Kendrick took a deep breath, said a prayer, and turned the entire hip hop industry on its head.
"Euphoria" -- the beginning of drake's end. "meet the grahams" -- the rap equivalent of watching a major news event happen live. "Not Like Us" -- bringing the rest of the neighborhood out to party at OVO's expense. this leaves out "6:16 in LA" and "Watch the Party Die", both released before his album, GNX, which felt just as much like a victory lap as it was Kendrick openly condemning an industry that creates and enables its own most disgusting monsters.
he's headlining the super bowl AGAIN. he can play the same track six times in a row and people go CRAZY. he has some of the best producers on speed dial. (literally, you saw the turnaround time on "meet the grahams". that was an Alchemist beat.) and most importantly of all, he hates like he's the Allied Mastercomputer.
i can talk about resumes and stats and scores until i'm out of breath. none of it matters in the presence of the GOAT. there's everyone else in rap, and then there's Kendrick. motherfuckin' Big Me.

'A new morning in LA starts'
'What is BTS' morning like?'
Jennie watched in amusement as Nate yelled for help when he tossed the BTS stuffed animals all over him, goofing off with Tae.
After goofing around, Jen and the rest of the members sit on the couch. Each member had on a white shirt with their name on it. "When I woke up in the morning, this was next to my head." Suga held his BTS doll in his hands, looking at it in confusion.
"What could this be?" J-Hope questioned, holding onto his.
"I think it's cute." Jennie looked at her doll, which had a cute smile on it.
"V-Pikachu!"
'Character Dolls that look exactly like BTS'
Everyone's attention turns to the screen when they hear the announcement, "BTS! Challenge to the real Hip-Hop dance!"
"This'll be fun." Jen spoke up in English.
"Why is it dancing again~" V whined.
"It's dancing!" J-Hope stood up, excited.
"Who's the best dancer here?" Nate asked.
"J-Hope." V pointed to him
"Show, show me! Show me!" Suga shook him
J-Hope sampled a little bit of Michael Jackson in his dancing. "We have a dance machine." Suga called out Jin.
"Ah, why do I come out." Jin stood up. "What do you want me to show?"
"Hip hop bounce!" V cheered.
Jin started bouncing up and down while Jen giggled. And then he started doing his trademark traffic dance.
"Rap Monster, everybody's a really, really good dancer. Everybody's good." Tony praised.
"Thank you!" V said in his cute English voice
"Anybody could win this competition. You could win this competition." Tony pointed to Jin.
"Who's ready to do a dance competition?"
"ME!" Rap Monster shouted.
"So eager!" Jennie laughed as they all got pumped up.
Jennie (I'm a little nervous about the dance competition because I really haven't showcased my dance skills. I do hope that whatever this competition is, I can do well)
'Whatever you guys are imagining, you will see past that expectation. BTS! You have confidence, right?'
'Arrived at the mission place, the dance studio!'
Jen had on a pair of ripped jeans and a black muscle shirt, exposing her arms, while the guys started goofing around. They all attempt to jump up to touch the ceiling.
"Let me try!" Jen ran up and jumped up, trying to touch the ceiling. She managed to grab onto it and jumped down. "Yeah! That was lit!" She high fived V.
After goofing around, they all sit down. "I personally hope that I'm able to start liking dancing through this experience," Suga spoke up.
"Hyung, you used to do some b-boying." J-Hope pointed out
"I did do it before."
"Hyung! Show us your true b-boying skills." V requested
"I haven't done b-boying in three years." Suga explained.
"It was only one year since you did this."
"I'll only do it three more years."
"If they ask for you to show your freestyle, show that." J-Hope added.
"I'm not bad at dancing." Suga asserted
"Did hyung just say he's not bad at dancing? Rapmon laughed
"I'm not bad, you guys are misunderstanding," Suga said, making Rap Monster laugh loudly.
"Don't tie me with you! It makes me feel bad"
"To be honest, Suga Hyung is too caught between the foam."
"I don't dance bad to the point where the attention would come to me." He retorted, earning a snort from Jennie as she tried to stiff a laugh.
"Hyung! When we prepared for comebacks before, didn't we practice over a hundred times just because of hyung?" V asked.
"But that wasn't just for 'Boy in Luv', that was for every album." Jimin teased while Suga just stared at them while Rap Monster and Jimin laugh
"You act like if someone saw you, they would think that you were at the level of Chris Brown or something." Suga laughed
"BTS!" A female voice called out, making them all look around. "Are you ready to play with me? BTS! Are you ready to play with me?"
"I'M READY!" They all yell
Hip hop music comes on and a girl appears, break dancing in front of them as they all cheer and clap for her.
"Aye!" Jennie nodded.
'A special tutor who has appeared for this mission!'
'Whoa! Jenny Kita! A Japanese-American dancer who is one of the top dancers in America!'
'A dancer for famous artists such as PSY, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Jenny Kita!'
"Now that I can see what you could do as a group, I wanna see what you guys can do individually. I wanna see what style, what vibe you bring solo." Jenny said.
"Pants! My pants! Oh my God! Pants!" Jimin touched his jeans, trying to explain.
"So, does anyone wanna go first?" She asked.
"I'll go!" Jennie raised her hand
"All right! Ladies first!" Jenny smiled and clapped for her.
After freestyling, doing quick, random hip hop moves, everyone clapped for her.
"All right, who is next?" Jenny looked around.
"Let's avoid eye contact," Jin murmured
"Ok, how about...this one." She pointed to V as he grinned
One by one, the guys went on to show their dance tutor their dance moves.
"Oh snap! Okay! Okay!" Jennie hyped up Suga when he started B-Boying as the rest of the guys got hyped up, cheering him on and laughing.
"Nice!" Jenny clapped. "Now I'm going to split you all into groups."
"You're going to divide us" Jimin questioned.
'Going to divide them into dance units depending on their skills'
"Go ahead, and turn around." She requested as she picked out the groups.
Jennie felt her grab her arm and make her go back with Jimin, Jungkook and J-Hope.
'What is the fate of the remaining lower dance students?'
Jenny decided to put Rap Monster with Jimin, and Jin with J-Hope. Then she decided to put Suga with Jennie.
"Yeah!" Suga happily cheered and high fived his partner.
Jen (I'll admit, I was so happy when she put me with Suga. I look up to him. I love his rapping, he's been a huge inspiration to me since I started in BTS. My weaknesses are his strengths, and my strengths are his weaknesses. Together, we'll work hard to try to beat the other guys. I believe we'll make a great team.)
'Dance hole in BTS?'
Jin (I danced every single day without missing a day. And that's my status now. Saying I need to move my body, need to follow the rhythm, things like that were so scary to me.)
Jimin and Rap Monster were called Team Swag, Jungkook and V were called Team Trouble, Jin and J-Hope were called Team Step Up, and Jennie and Suga were called Team Fierce.
'The next day'
Everyone headed back to the dance studio, stretching and randomly dancing. Jennie decided to keep stretching until Jenny arrived. Jennie wore sweatpants and a grey hoodie with sneakers and her hair was out in loose curls.
"What's up, guys? How do you guys feel?" Jenny greeted
"Great!" Jennie clapped.
"Feels good!" Jimin said in English
"I'm so good!" Suga followed suit
"Good! You guys did really well last time we danced together. I gave you some pointers, and some things to think about and to feel when you're dancing. So, we also picked the weakest link from each team, right? So we're gonna have each weakest link show me how you can improve, by battling it out with some special guest dancers."
"What!?" BTS and Jen shout, looking astonished.
Jen (Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha...WHAT!? HUH!?)
"It's hardening, his expression is hardening." J-Hope teased Jin who was looking nervous.
"Each of you are going to battle one by one with some special guest dancers that we have for you." Jenny revealed. "Win 4 rounds and go to the next level."
"How do we win?" Suga asked
"We can't win!" Rap Monster whined in English
"Confidence!" Jennie patted him on the shoulder.
"Let's just do it bluntly, be blunt." J-Hope advised.
"Worst case scenario would be all three of us losing in a row." Suga mentioned.
"If all three lose, then all of us will go out and dance together at the same time." Jimin suggested.
"Come out at the same time and beat them all, okay?"
"Get revenge on them, for us." Jin added
"This is funny." J-Hope giggled.
"This is funny? I'm serious right now." Jin exclaimed as the dancers started entering the room. A group of males and females walked in, standing before them, looking intimidating.
"Well...this should be fun." Jennie murmured.
'The dancers who will go against them in a dance battle have entered'
Jen (As soon as I saw them walk in, the butterflies in my stomach came out of nowhere. What if I'm called out to dance? And will I be able to deliver? I get critical about my dancing. I always feel like I can do better and better. And I will one day. I just hope if I am picked, I can win. Because I like to win and I'm very passionate about freestyle dancing. It's so fun and makes me feel so...alive, I guess, haha. Lack of a better word.)
Jin (How could we beat people who have good grooves since birth? Wait, not how we can win against them, but more like, what should we do about this? I only had thoughts about what I should do.)
"I feel like they'll be too good." J-Hope observed the dancers in front of him.
"Jennie, you all right? You haven't said anything. V put his hands on her shoulders from behind.
"Oh, I'm fine." She answered in a serious tone, analyzing each dancer in front of her.
Jen (I take freestyling more seriously than when I'm usually taught choreography at times because when it's time for a dance battle, I like to go all out. I used to do dance battles with friends and other people when I was back in America. After school, during recess, and dance classes, it was so fun. But I ended up losing, most of the time and it made me feel bummed. I felt like I wasn't good enough, y'know? But I should keep in mind, that the people I've battled danced longer than me, practiced more than me, and I can't be discouraged. I need to keep trying and learn more. So, I hope I'm on their level, whoever I may face. And learn from them.)
"They're real dancers." Suga pointed out, feeling intimidated.
"And so are we." Jennie replied. "We got this. Relax. Don't be intimidated. Trust your skills."
"Everyone's serious, right now." Jungkook adjusted his hat.
"Nice to meet you!" V said in English, waving at them.
"So this is a special little crew of dancers that I put together to battle you guys. This is BTS, they came to LA to learn about hip-hop culture." Jenny pointed out as the dancers nodded. "Okay, so who do we have first?"
"Suga!" Jen and the rest of the guys called out as he raised his hand.
"Aye! You got this!" Jennie fistbumped him. "Show em that we're Team Fierce!"
"I feel like I'm showing all my weak points and embarrassing sides after coming to America." Suga stood in the middle.
"Go Suga! Go Suga!" Jimin chanted in a deep voice
Suga shook hands with the male dancer in the red shirt as they met in the middle.
"All right! Cue music!" Jenny announced.
Suga started b-boying again, confidently attacking first. His moves were fluid and smooth. He stepped up to the guy and put two of his fingers in front of his eyes and turned it to his before turning to the side and hip bumping against the guy.
"I cannot believe he just did that! Hahaha!" Jennie laughed as the guy leaned back, covering his mouth.
"First round, Suga!" Jenny announced.
"Yeah! Gimme some!" Jennie jumped up and hugged him. "That's what I'm talking about!"
Jennie (I'm so proud of him! Team Fierce, baby!)
Jimin (I think Suga hyung started off on a very good start.)
Suga (Rather than say I did well, I think I was just lucky)
Suga was in high spirits as he goofed around but then another guy jumped up in front of him, making him scurry back.
"Next round, BTS Member, Rap Monster!" Jenny announced.
"Oh my God." He looked up at the ceiling and stepped forward
"Go Rap Mon! Go Rap Mon!" Jimin cheered.
The dance team pushed forward a guy in a black clap as they cheered loudly for him.
Rap Monster (When I went in front, I couldn't think of anything. I just did what my body told me to do.)
The guy in the black cap started performing his skilled dance moves, making Jennie nod in approval. Suddenly the guy backfliped, as a chorus of ohs surrounded the room.
Jennie (*Throws arms up in the air* I'm DONE!)
Rap Monster started doing his goofy dance, while the guy just looked around, questioning what he was doing.
'Will win through his expressions rather than his dancing'
After they finish, Jenny points to the dancing team as the winners.
'Rap Mon loses'
'Bangtan:1, America:1. The victory is back to the starting point!'
"In my opinion, hyung could have totally won over that guy. I told you before hyung started, that you can win if you just do it calmly." Jimin addressed.
"I did do it, calmly." Rap Monster exclaimed.
"Hyung, couldn't show everything he has. I hope that when Jin hyung does it, he'll do it calmly."
"I will do all I can!" Jin replied.
"Onto the next round with Jin!" Jenny announced as Kris Kross' Jump came on. Jennie immediately began dancing to the beat, enjoying the nostalgia. Jin started off dancing first but got overshadowed by the guy's grinding on the floor.
Jennie (Oh...no.)
Jin started doing his trademark hip hop bounce as the guy followed his move.
'The dance team competitor who is drunk in his own feel'
"AHHHHH!" BTS yell while Jennie put her hands over her head, freaking out over Jin and his opponent going head to head in the traffic dance.
"Okay guys, that was really good. But I have to give it to this side." Jenny points to the dancer's side.
'Losing twice in a row!'
Jin (I was really provoked while doing it with that person. He was so drunk in his own feel that he didn't even look at me. I really disliked him.)
Jimin (If it went accordingly, I would think that Jin hyung would win, but well standards are different.)
"Alright, so good job guys! The results from that battle was that our special guest crew got two wins. Only two more to go." Jenny acknowledged
"I can't accept it!" Jimin exclaimed.
Jennie (I could just feel myself getting riled up. I always get like this when it comes to dance battles. Like I really don't want us to go out like this. I was tempted to ask if I could dance but J-Hope beat me to it. So, I'll continue to just watch)
"Let's step on them! Jimin-ah, let's step on them!" J-Hope suggested.
"Can another team from our side go out and battle it out?" Jimin requested.
"All right so who's going to go first from BTS?" Jenny asked.
"Shall I go out?" Jimin stepped forward.
"Jimin! Jiminie!" Suga shouted, clapping.
Jimin turned his attention to his opponent and said in English, "You! No dance. Listen to music, okay? Basics are important."
"Basics?" J-Hope looked on in confusion
"Come again?" Jennie raised a brow.
"Jimin doesn't have basics," Rapmon added.
Jennie (Jimin, what are you doing?)
"All right, ready? Cue music!" Jenny announced.
The guy in the black cap danced first and ended up pushing Jimin back when he started to dance.
A scoff came out of Jennie as she rolled her eyes, shaking her head. Unaware that a few girls in the dance crew were watching, whispering to each other.
Jen (No. Just no. Are you kidding me? Really?)
Jennie looked on in disapproval. "Why'd you have to touch him, though?" She called out.
J-Hope (My blood just started boiling)
Rap Monster (His bad manners were just too much.)
Jen (You see, I'm used to that, unlike the guys but I had to learn to understand what other cultures might think so I had to make sure to tone it down when I came to South Korea. So, when I saw him push Jimin, I got upset. Like, be mindful of others' cultures.)
The guy pushed Jimin again when he started dancing and Jenny called him out on it, shaking her head in disapproval. The guy backflipped while Jennie continued throwing shade at the guy with her facial expressions.
Jen (No. No honey, no. That's all I gotta say.)
"That round goes to Jimin because he has better musicality," Jenny said. "And precision with his like, body control. So! Give it up for Jimin, he did a great job."
Jennie (Two to two! Yeah boy!)
The next round was between Jungkook and another guy. "You got this, Kookie!" Jennie cheered.
Jungkook started B-Boying and went up to the guy who was shorter than him, and stepped up to him, using his height as an advantage.
"Oooooohhhhhh!"
Jennie (Haha, Ah...Jungkook. I love him! He's the best. That was funny.)
Out of nowhere, Jungkook flipped over but ended up tumbling down on the ground, hitting the floor hard as everyone around him oh'ed, loudly. Jennie cringed at the sight, covering her mouth with her right hand in shock.
After his fall, Jungkook's opponent began his attack of dance moves, dancing quickly, making smooth and effortless floor moves.
Suga (That person was...he had a different class. He was really a dancer.)
Jenny raised the guy's hand in victory as the dancing team had three points while BTS had two points.
"Don't do anything that you don't have. Like you did your flip. And you landed hard. That right there, you could get messed up." Odin, the dancer Jungkook just battled advised. "And the judge is gonna see that, "Oh, he didn't get it.' So I want you to do only what you have. Don't do anything you don't have in battle."
After listening to his words of wisdom, everyone clapped for him.
"Hey, the girl. The girl in the back." The black girl with the blue shirt called out, pointing to BTS.
"Jennie?" Jungkook pointed to her as the rest of the members revealed her standing behind.
Loud ohs were heard from everyone as Jennie looked up. She looked around to see everyone staring at her.
Jimin (Ah...Jennie has been called out. I always wanted to see how she dances in America.)
"Huh? Me?" Looking like a deer caught in headlights, Jennie widened her eyes, not expecting to be called out.
"Yeah...you." The girl walked up to the middle, filled with confidence. "I saw your expressions. You face me. I want to see how good you are. Since you want to make those expressions, let's see if you can back up your dance skills."
Another round of oohs was heard around the room while Jen let out a short chuckle.
Jennie (Heh, heh...excuse me?)
"Remember to listen to the music, Jennie," Jimin advised.
"You got this, Jennie!" Jungkook cheered for her.
"Come on, you and me, one on one. Let's go. Unless you're scared~." The girl teased, motioning for her to step up. "Don't let the guys dance for you." She continued calling her out while everyone ooh'ed at her attack.
Jennie (Hahaha...this girl....)
"Okay. Okay." Jennie mumbled to herself as she took off her hoodie, revealing her muscle shirt.
She took off one of her black hair ties, putting her hair in a ponytail, earning oohs from the dancers as they joked around with the girl in the blue shirt that Jennie was about to get serious.
"All right, if you insist. Let's go." Jennie stepped up, to the middle while everyone started cheering. She faced off with the girl who was a few inches taller than her.
Jen (I was always nervous about dancing like I usually would dance in America because things are different in South Korea. But this is a competition and I want to win. So, whenever I'm in competitions, I tend to get even more extra. Like really extra. So, I am glad that I'm back home in America. I want my team to win. I don't want to let the guys down...so...hopefully they won't think I'm too crazy. Or Ghetto...I'm so nervous. Ah...what are they going to think? What am I going to do? She called me out, I'm not backing down.)
"Come on, Jen! You got this!" J-Hope cheered her on.
Jen (And of course it just HAD to be Missy Elliot's Lose Control. UGH! Now I gotta go in! Let's do this!)
Music make you lose control
Music make you lose control
As soon as the beat dropped, Jennie and the girl break it down, pumping their chests up and down to the beat along with their butts. Both of their teams started cheering for them, getting hyped up.
Jin (What is going on!? How is she moving her body like this!? I can't do that! Is her butt supposed to move like this!? Do we need to call 911!? What is going on!? Jennie! Wow!)
Rap Monster (We're men, uh, I cannot move my butt like that. Jennie, you got that, girl. She's killin' it.)
I got a cute face
Jennie pointed to her face, strutting forward to the girl.
Chubby waist
She ran her hands down to her waist
Thick legs in shape
Running her hands down to her thighs, she dropped down to the floor. She came back up and dropped down to the floor a couple of times while booty shaking effortlessly as the girl crossed her arms, looking on.
Rump shakin' both ways
Jennie stood up and looked both ways, pretending that she was surprised as 'Make you do a double take' was heard
Jennie (I'm back home! I'm gonna dance and shake what my mama gave me. What you got!? It's on, now!)
Exhaling, Jennie crossed her arms as she watched the girl try to one up her dance moves. They went even harder than they did the first few moments of the song.
Planet rocker, show stopper
Flow proper, head knocker
Beat scholar, tail dropper
Do my thang, motherfucker
My Rolls Royce, Lamborghini
Blue Madena, always beamin
Rag top, chrome pipes
Blue lights, outta sight
(Long weave) sewed in
(Say it again) sewed in
Make that money, throw it in
Booty bouncin, gone head
Having enough of watching her, Jennie started to dance again as they both slid side to side. Out of nowhere, the girl decided to get close and stand right in front of her before blowing right in her face, making everyone ooh.
Out of nowhere, Jennie clapped right in front of her face, making the girl stumble back out of shock. Taking advantage, she decided to krump with aggression.
"Go Jennie!" V cheered, jumping up and down.
"That's my dance partner! That's my dance partner!" Suga happily announced, pointing at her.
J-Hope (I was not aware that Jennie could dance like this. We need to have a talk. We need to dance together!)
Everybody here - get it out of control
Get your backs off the wall, cause Misdemeanor said so
As soon as the tone slowed down in the song, Jennie slowly moved her upper body before popping her chest to the beat and then moving her hips.
Everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody
(Just throw your hands in the air!)
Everybody here - get it out of control
Get your backs off the wall, cause Misdemeanor said so
Everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody
(Just throw your hands in the air!)
Freestyling, Jen blew a kiss to her opponent before dropping down to the floor, dancing on her knees while the girl tried to copy.
"Great job! That was aggressive, from the both of you." Jenny looked impressed while the team clapped for the girls. Out of breath, and a little sweaty, Jennie was happy when Jenny announced her as the winner of the dance battle.
"Yeah!" BTS cheered as they ran up to her. Rap Monster and Jin picked her up, having a parade while she laughed.
Jennie (AYE~ I won~)
Jungkook (Jennie...she's so cool.)
Jimin (I never knew she could dance like that. She did really well)
Last up was J-Hope to attempted to win the battle for his team. "Think about the old days! Let's go!" Rapmon cheered.
'I am the hope of BTS' dance, J-Hope'
Effortlessly, J-Hope went back to his old dancing days and showed off his skills.
"Yas Hope!" Jennie clapped with enthusiasm.
"J-Hope please win!" Jimin cheered
The dancer danced modern dance as wiggle wiggle came on. J-Hope came out and danced around, playfully before getting serious.
"Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye!" Jennie clapped, nodding her head
"Hey, that was nice!" Jenny said as she held both of their hands to point out who the winner was. "I don't know..."
'Who is the final winner of the dance battle!?'
"The final round winner!" Jenny raised J-Hope's hand as BTS celebrated.
Jennie (That's my boy! I'm so happy)
J-Hope (I was able to feel the electricity and feelings that I haven't been able to feel in a while.)
V (He would only show popping on shows and never show his actual dancing. He would only dance like Hwibohwibohwibo hwimang hwimang hwimang hwimang~. If you look at videos, he's like that for all of them. They probably didn't know his skills were at this level.)
Jungkook (He was a dancer who did b-boying, but that person was really a pro. He was an opponent I just couldn't beat.)
After dancing, Jen and the guys eat lunch, taking a break from dancing.
"Jennie! We didn't know you could dance like that! What else can you do?" Jimin teased.
"Ah...thanks. I'm always used to that type of dancing. I was just a little nervous about what you guys might think."
"Well that was badass, that's for sure." Rapmon complimented.
"Really? Thanks, guys."
"We need to dance together," J-Hope mentioned as she nodded in approval.
After eating they gather around to Jenny. "Welcome to your last challenge. This is called the D.I.Y Challenge."
"Do it yourself?" Rap Monster asked.
"Yep, do it yourself." Jennie nodded.
"Exactly!" Jenny said. "Okay, so each team is going to be given a song that you have to make your own choreography to. But I'm going to give you three moves or elements that you have to include in your routine. The first team, Trouble! So, your song is Michael Jackson's Love never felt so good."
Rapmon started jumping up and down in excitement. "Ah! I really like this song!"
Their three dance moves are the glide, air pose and 6 step. First Jenny demonstrated the glide dance.
'A dance move where you move your feet and slide across the floor as if you're slipping. Michael Jackson's moonwalk dance was created using this dance'
Jungkook decided to try it out and got a nod of approval from Jenny.
"Okay, next group. Your song is called Gifted and it's by N.A.S.A with Kanye West and Santigold." Jenny announced.
The three dance moves they will be doing are krumping, twerking and the kick move.
"Ah...they got krumping and twerking. Lucky!" Jennie sighed.
Jenny demonstrated twerking while the guys looked on, trying to figure out how in the world they'd be able to pull it off.
"Twerking like what Jennie did earlier?" Jimin questioned, pointing to her. "I can't move my butt like that! She has a butt, I hardly have one!" He whined, making the female member laugh.
"I can't do it, I can't, I can't do that." Rap Monster exclaimed
"Wow!" V looked on
'A dance that emphasizes the flexible movement of a female's pelvis and it's a popular dance in America as pop stars such as Miley Cyrus enjoys dancing it on stage'
Jimin walked up to Jenny. "We're males." He exclaimed.
"Excuse me, we're men." Rap Monster added
"It's not that bad! You'll be fine." She giggled.
Jennie continued laughing at Rap Monster struggling and he tried to do the dance. Grabbing a bottle of water, she took a few sips.
"Wait, one second. Something keeps dangling." Rap Monster stood up
Spitting out her water, Jennie kneeled on the floor, laughing at his statement. "Oh, my God!!!"
The guys were uncontrollably loud, laughing with her.
"I didn't curse!" Rap Monster shouted. "This can be aired, right?"
"It can! It can!" V answered.
Rap Monster and Jimin try to attempt to twerk. Rap Monster's facial expressions looked a bit too racy as Jin called out.
"What are you doing?" Jennie looked on as she couldn't comprehend what was going on.
Jennie (Uh, Rapmon...you all right there buddy? You good?)
Jimin stuck his butt up in the air, trying to move his behind while Jennie continued to laugh. "His butt is angry, right now! Jimin's butt is angry!" Suga called out.
"Jimin's height is short!" V teased.
"Team step up, your song is by Pharrell and it's called Come Get It Bae." Jenny announced. Their dance moves are locking, popping, and wacking. After Jenny demonstrated, and showed them the dance moves.
"And lastly, Team Fierce, you two will be dancing to Pump It Up by Joe Budden."
Jennie (Throwback! Pump, pump, pump it up!)
The three dance moves they were chosen to do were the dougie, chest pop and stepping. After being demonstrated, Jennie and Suga attempt the moves. Suga had a bit more trouble but Jennie reassured him that they'll be fine.
"Okay so now you guys know what to do for your DIY challenge. You can separate into your teams and go choreograph your own routine using the three elements that I gave you. Good luck!" Jenny said.
Jennie and Suga decide to walk around town to find a spot. They decide to practice their dance in a vacant parking lot.
"First I'll teach you each of the dances so you can perfect them and then we'll come up with the choreography. I was thinking we should go into a dance battle and be in sync."
"Sounds good. Just bear with me." He chuckled.
"First let's start with the chest pump. Should be easy enough. All we're doing is going in and out." She pumped her chest out and brought it back a few times in a slow manner. Suga followed her movements with ease. "Okay let's do it faster. Five, six, seven, eight." They both pumped their chests out at a faster pace. "Ayeee, we got it."
Suga (Jennie, she's...very patient. I'm grateful for that. I thought she would be annoyed with me that I didn't get the dances quick enough. I enjoy dancing with her.)
After dancing and learning the choreography, they decide to play around, running back and forth to the end of the parking lot in a race. Then he grabbed her and proceeded to spin her around while she laughed.
After their little break, Jennie continued to go over the dance with him to make sure he got it.
"Thanks for being patient with me," he spoke up softly.
"Yeah, no prob. And don't feel pressured. I don't care if we win or lose. I'm having fun either way with you."
"Me too. I'm starving. Can we eat?" He suggested.
"Yeah, let's walk around, and see if we can find a place." They exit the parking lot.
They decided to walk into the first restaurant they saw. Once they walk in, they see V and Jungkook sitting at a booth.
Jungkook looked up and instantly waved at them. "Jennie!" He happily shouted as they walked over to them. Standing up, he pulled her in for a big hug, making her laugh.
"I'm happy to see you, too!" She beamed.
Jennie (Oh? You want me to talk about Jungkook? *Smiles brightly*)
Jungkook (You want me to talk about Jennie?)
Jennie (Well...)
Jungkook (Well...*Chuckles nervously and looks down* She's my best friend.)
Jennie (Do you know those friendships where you don't even remember how you guys became such great friends? To be around someone who you click with so easily and that can make your day, that's how I feel about my bond with him.)
Jungkook (I feel so comfortable around her. She makes me feel at ease. Always rooting for me. I'm grateful for her support.)
Jennie (I dunno, he just...he makes me so...)
Jungkook (She's precious to BTS. She's easygoing. I enjoy being around her. She always makes me so happy.)
Jennie (He makes me so happy. I admire his passion for singing and dancing. He's so talented. He deserves to be called Golden Maknae. Hm...I wonder what my nickname should be...Cute Maknae? Wait no, because once I'm older, I don't want to be seen as cute. I want to be seen as fierce, beautiful and badass, y'know? ARMY, help me out here.)
Jungkook (She may seem like an innocent girl, but she's not. I still can't get over what she did to my white shirts...Maybe I should prank her and start a prank war when we go back to Korea.)
Jennie (He's such a goofball, he always beats me in video games, which I can't STAND. I hate it! How does this guy win everything? No, seriously, I've been practicing all the levels of Mario Cart, with all the characters, and he STILL finds a way to beat me. Like, dude, can I win once?)
Jungkook (Oh you really don't want to know the losing streak, Jennie has. Hahaha, it's so embarrassing)
Jennie (Wait...did he tell you about my losing streak? Oh God...)
Jungkook (So far, it's 26 in a row. Hehehe.)
Jennie (He told you didn't he...? I'm going to kill him.)
"Wow, I'm here too." Suga rolled his eyes and greeted V, completely ignored by Jungkook.
They all sit down. Suga sat next to V while Jennie sat next to Jungkook.
"How's your choreography going?" Jennie asked.
"Eh...we did a little something. We just wanted to see the beach and check out the sights." V answered with a shrug.
"Wow, guys. So, productive. Shame on you, two." She looked at him and then Jungkook. Suga grabbed a menu and they all checked out the menu.
"I want pizza. You guys wanna share?" Jennie suggested and they agreed.
"Uh...Linguwai...Bburotti-v...mommy?" Suga tried to read the menu.
"Dude, it says Linguine Frutti di Mare." She corrected him. "I believe it's Italian."
"Oh. Whatever you said." He scrolled down the menu to the pizza area. "Spicy Arrabbiata?" He questioned while V laughed at his struggle.
"I'll just order for you guys, how about that?" She suggested.
"Yes, please, thank you."
"These entries are virtually illegible," Jungkook mentioned.
The waiter came to take their order. "Linguerre...Bbureu ttwidi mare?" Suga struggled to read off the menu
"He meant that he wants the Linguine Frutti di Mare." Jennie smiled at the waiter.
"Okay, do you want that in small?" The waiter asked
"Extra large?" V suggested, making Jennie widen her eyes
"Omg, V! That'll be huge!"
"Large feeds 4-5 people. It's sort of big." The waiter warned
"Oh, small, then." Suga corrected.
"There's no medium?" V asked
"You and your appetite." Jennie giggled at him
She turned to see Jungkook grabbing the Mountain Dew and Coca Cola and drinking it at the same time. "That won't be a good mix. Tried it." She warned and laughed when she saw him make a puking sound and set the cups down. "Orange soda and ginger ale taste great together. I'll let you try it before we leave, America."
"I'll trust your judgment." He replied.

'And onto the real hip hop dance mission that the members practiced for without sleep. Shall we move on to the location of the final face off?'
BTS and Jen meet up with the other dance choreographers and Jenny.
"How's it going?" Jenny greeted
"We choreographed till this morning," Jimin informed.
"We were gonna twerk but it was so difficult because I have no pelvis." Rap Monster added
"Alright, guys! Today's the final day for the DIY Challenge. I'm very proud of you guys; it takes a lot of hard work to get good at something. So, nothing's gonna be easy. Who do you think is gonna win?" Jenny asked as a few members raised their hands.
"Well just to let you know, the winner will get a special prize. So hopefully that'll give you some motivation. Okay, now that we're all warmed up, we're gonna start our final challenge."
First up was Rap Monster and Jimin and after they danced, Jenny asked, "What did you guys learn from this experience? How did you feel?"
"I felt that there's a lot of fun in working together to create something," Jimin answered
Next up was Team Trouble, who looked like their dance was too easy.
"This is a joke. minimum effort, man, minimum effort." J-Hope said with disapproval.
"Next up is Team Fierce!"
Jennie started first, clapping, getting into the groove before pumping up her chest up and down with Suga. They danced like they were having fun, making sure to do all three dance moves they were assigned, putting in their own flavor.
Suga (I believe we did well. I didn't mess up. I'm thrilled about that.)
"Good job! Last up we have our last team, step up!" Jenny announced as everyone looked impressed at Jin's dancing.
"I think that Jin-hyung has greatly improved." Jimin pointed out.
"He did well. Our Jin-hyung did really well." J-Hope mentioned.
"Very. I see you, Jin. I see you." Jennie cheered him on, nodding in approval.
"I was reminded of how broad minded J-Hope is as a friend," Jin added
"There were some difficult parts but I'm rather grateful that Jin-hyung endured it well and pulled through," J-Hope said and patted him on the back
"I'm gonna get to the evaluation of each team. Rap Monster and Jimin. You guys did really good. Usually, I would've never known that you had a hard time working together. I feel like your swag makes up for it. So even though your dancing may not be the best, I feel like you can play it up because of your personality and swag." Jenny reviewed. "Okay Team Trouble, you guys looked like you had a lot of fun. However, I think the choreography was pretty easy and it wasn't very challenging. It looked like, um, just having fun. Kinda like comedy, kinda."
"Your dance was easy!" Jimin accused.
"You went sightseeing, huh? Sightseeing!" Rap Monster added.
"All right, Team Fierce. I enjoyed your dance. You two were in sync, you looked like you were having a lot of fun. I'm impressed. Good job." Jenny praises.
"All right, step up. You probably have the widest gap of skill level. So, I'm sure it was very hard for you. I'm impressed and very proud of you. Especially you Jin. And at first, I was worried about you guys but after watching I'm very impressed and you've come a long way." Jenny grins. "I can tell that you've practiced a lot. And that you tried really hard. All right, I'm gonna pick a winner. This is a very hard decision. But I'm gonna have to go with J-Hope and Jin. Jin really improved with his dancing" Jenny announced.
"I won by dance!" Jin cheered, looking excited. Jennie couldn't help but giggle at his enthusiasm.
Jennie (At the end of the day, we're all together, dancing, and learning. I'm happy with how things turned out. Everyone wants to win. But you can't win every time. But don't let that bring you down. Think about the fun you had. I had a blast today.)
'You guys were really the best! We congratulate you once again! It was impressive seeing you freely enjoy and express yourselves through dance. You've got us looking forward to more! Where can we find your limits? BTS! Good job!'

Who is your favourite Kpop group?
Bangtan Sonyeondan
Which member sparked your interest first?
Jungkook
Who was your first bias?
Jungkook
Who is your current bias?
Jungkook
What makes them your current bias?
I love every single BTS member, but Jungkook was the member that I truly got obsessed with. He has a heart of gold, and is a big inspiration in my life. I love his cute face and he has the most stunning set of eyes. I just think he's so adorable (he's sometimes shy) and he has this sense of humour. The sense of happiness I get when I see his beautiful smile - nothing could ever compare. Since I've known of him, he's been so ridiculously funny and charming. He's very sincere. I love watching him speak, interact and perform. Not to mention, he's incredibly talented. (Golden Maknae for life! 💘) I've always felt deeply connected and close to him on a different level.
Who is your bias wrecker?
Rap Monster. I love him and Jungkook as a duo. RM speaks very eloquently, is very funny, generous and charismatic. (He also makes an amazing visual). I am currently obsessing once again over his beautiful UN speech. His advocacy work is beautiful and it was easy to see he has a beautiful heart in the way he told ARMYs to love themselves. I also call to mind how splendid he was as a performer in his Fake Love role. He's a pleasure to watch and an immensely talented idol. It is thanks to his skills that I fell so in love with this boyband.
Which members are you currently obsessing over that aren't your bias/bias wrecker?
Jin
When did you first discover this group?
I discovered BTS in the summer of 2019. I remember the exact moment: it was when I discovered a Dionysus performance. I had never seen anything like it before. I thought that they were absolutely phenomenal and magnificent. Afterwards, I discovered their other songs and watched a whole bunch of interviews and I became a huge fan.
Have you ever been to one of their concerts?
I have been an ARMY since quite a while, but I only got desperate to actually go to a concert after the time that they enlisted. :((( I deeply regret the fact that I didn't try to go to a concert back in 2019 or so, but I had no idea what the future had in store. I know it will be next to impossible to get tickets when they come back, but of course I've got my heart set on being at a concert in 2025. And maybe I'll finally get to see Jungkook live.
What are some of your favorite songs by the group?
Lately I've been really into Truth Untold and Film Out. I'm in love with their entire discography though! 🩷🩷🩷

John would’ve loved Nicki Minaj tbh
Sorry I’m gonna use this as an excuse to tell you my John Lennon hip hop headcanons bc I’ve actually been thinking about this since I made the post. John would love so much rap music like.. the word play but also the general narratives about experiencing oppression and the fact that the rest of the “old white men” of the music industry hated it in the beginning. John would not be the first white boy rapper but he would do some sort of spoken word thing on a song inspired by hip hop that would be kind of rap adjacent and then 20 years later everyone would be like “it was the first white rap song” like they talk about Rapture by Blondie.
I think he’d like the arty, alternative hip hop side like A Tribe Called Quest. Like he’d be down to give Tribe his blessing to use a Beatles drum sample on Low End Theory or something, which would then kick off a whole trend in hip hop about using Beatles samples (now I’m just fantasising but I WISH, god I could do a whole separate rant about this. PAUL FREE THE SAMPLES!!)
Although tbh due to proximity maybe he’d be more into the New York artists like Biggie and Wu Tang. Jay-Z and Nas in their time, which like actually..
He’d LOVE Kanye. Like blah blah Kanye production, but also Kanye oldies are funny, and tell me saying “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” on live TV isn’t the most John Lennon shit to go spouting off hdkshskaj. They’d be such besties. He’d work with Kanye way before Paul. He’d put a Kanye feature on his album. He’d let Kanye sample God on Yeezus. When Kanye got into his whole religion thing, John would do an interview like “I love him but I don’t really get it” and then they’d get into the craziest beef.
But also, per your point I think he’d like Nicki’s thing of doing a voice bc people told her to sing pretty. Idk if he’d relate as much to her lyrics but, like Kanye, Nicki’s songs are funny so I could see him being into it. Plus she’s like objectively excellent when you catch her on a great song and I think he could appreciate that. He’s friends with Kanye! He heard her Monster verse! He gets it! Although I could also see him saying something mildly critical in an interview and then getting attacked by barbs on twitter, which would honestly just be really funny.
But he’s so opinionated in general that he’d be such a fun voice to add to rap conversation, not even in the sense that he’d have anything important to say about it, but he’s smart! I think there are things about hip hop that he’d understand well before other people, (and obviously things about it he’d completely overlook due to his age and privilege) but it’s not like we’re hearing any in depth Beatle opinions on rap music and I just think his would be fun and chaotic.
#I think John would completely understand Eminem’s angry white boy thing but also would completely eviscerate it before Eminem lost his shine#I think he’d like lil nas x—not musically but as a personality in that genre#anyway lemme shut up lol#asks#John Lennon the hip hop fan

Zillo - November 1995
Thanks to Ramjohn for the scans!
Rammstein. A name like a tool. Rammstein. A place in Germany that attracted attention in the late 80s due to a plane crash. Both association points for violence, power and energy. Nouns that also apply to the six-piece Berlin formation Rammstein and their music.
'Herzeleid' is the debut album recently released by Motor Music and dubbed by Clawfinger producer. An album that will turn heads. Press reviews (ranging from 'bull's eye' to 'one-dimensional blood and soil illiterate') either glorifying or condemning ‘Herzeleid’ bear eloquent testimony to the balancing act.
Musically, Rammstein deliver the full threat. They call it 'dance metal' and open a new drawer in the large closet of styles. Massive drums, atmospheric synths and shrill metal guitars give birth to a new monster in the world of crossover. Deeply evil and armed with animal power, these brute sounds pounce on the eardrum and tear it apart like vultures tearing apart carrion. A creation, Rammsteiner Urgewaechs brand, which is unparalleled in the chronicles of music history. Technically perfectly performed, without reason to complain. However, this begins with the sound of the song. But more on that later.
The three band members present during the interview wish to remain anonymous: "Just write Rammstein. We don't do a personality cult. Although our personal opinions are very different, we try to represent a unified opinion to the outside world. “
Originally intended as a project alongside various bands, Rammstein quickly became a sure-fire success: “With this project we quickly realized that we couldn't get away from the kind of music we were making there. In addition, the fact that we had back then bonded us very strongly at that time.”
A song on 'Herzeleid' describes the plane crash in Rammstein, but was not decisive for the band's naming. “The name suits our music. The two Ms, that just sounds good: RaMMstein.”
Their words sound good too. If one dissects Rammstein's neologism according to its rhyme content, a high rhyme density quickly emerges. Are your lyrics based on the motto 'Rhyme you or I'll eat you'?
General laughter. Rammstein take refuge in gallows humor and quote their bitterest review: "Blood and peasant illiterates." If they were boxers, they would have taken a hard right now. But Rammstein can handle criticism: “It's good that opinions differ so much. You have to be able to live with that. We like the lyrics, we think they're really good and we work on them for a long time, we can't get them any better.”
One can certainly blame them for the fact that their texts, viewed superficially ('the head, I cut it off'), appear bold and glorify violence. And this at a time when the former Yugoslavia has been at war for years. Could they, with a clear conscience, recite their lyrics to an audience composed of people who escaped the turmoil of war?
“You are not only allowed to see individual quotes. Head off is violent, of course, but it depends on how you wrap it. We made the music that suits our current feelings. We're not at war, and I don't know how music affects people who are at war. It's like when a glutton guy throws a sandwich in the bin and another guy says you can send it to Africa. In the end he's right, but somehow he's not. We don't want to be heard and immediately forgotten. We want to make lyrics that you can't just ignore.”
The biggest sticking point in the otherwise quite promising overall concept is certainly the singing. Intoned in a deep, deep, deep voice in rap and loaded with plenty of nasty rumbling, rolling RRRRs, Rammstein quickly pushes the boundaries of embarrassment. In this respect, parallels to Laibach can quickly be drawn without wanting to associate Rammstein with the disreputable aura that surrounds Laibach.
“Certainly there are certain similarities,” affirm Rammstein. “But our singer can only sing deeply,” they deny any intention. “We want him to sing more tunes. But you can only do what is currently possible. Maybe the third record will be better.”
The revealing poses in the photos also seem a bit exaggerated. Are the Chippendales of music?
“We are the Heavy Metal Chippendales”, Rammstein show their humorous side. Nevertheless, macho allegations could arise. How do you see your male role?
“We are men. Many men have many difficulties with our kind of masculinity. Women who see us have fewer problems with it, they like it. We have a strong response from women. We're just trying to be natural, in a masculine sense, because we're men and not women.”
Rammstein — a band that will not only get the newspapers moving.

Howie Mandel, a meager and unassuming opinion
The other day I posted about “Deal or No Deal Island”, and during the course of that post I explained the basics of the original “Deal or No Deal” show. I of course mentioned the host, Howie Mandel. Why would you shorten Howard to Howie? Howard really is an awful name, but Howie sounds juvenile.
According to the many (one) source, HM was born in 1955. That means he is 69 years old this year. (Stoo snickering). I have a hard time believing it, but he’s older than my parents.
He’s old enough to vividly remember the civil rights movement, a handful of wars (that we know about 👀) and like, a crap ton of other important stuff. He was 30 ish when the Berlin Wall fell. It may not seem like that big of a deal, I mean, there’s a lot of people that age, I mean, come on, the “boomers”. AKA my grandparents generation had little to no self control and/or birth control.
It’s just, Howie does not look like he’s about to ding 70. There’s a handful of celebrities that have really aged well, that’s another post. But Howie is - different. I think, and I could be wrong, that Howie Mandel is indeed an extraterrestrial being. This is why, I’m sure many of my readers noticed, I called him a creature. I can’t definitively say he’s an alien but he is a creature. Now, if you have seen the stage of the “Deal or No Deal” show, it’s lit up, and like, for sure a space ship deconstructed into the stage. Howie lives deep beneath the ship/stage, in quarters that “NBC” Has provided for him, in addition to many other forms of payment, because Howie requires intense medical care. Not used to the germs that humans carry, his weak alien immune system (well from our point of view, I mean, it could be that he also can’t handle our atmosphere yet he persists…just suffers for it by being almost paralyzed by common human germs. His people have cleverly covered this up by having him tell everyone that he suffers from OCD, and more specifically, he is a germophobe. Putting him in harms way every time he did a show by letting middle aged women hug him and good ol boys grab his hand for a handshake. Doctors here have struggled to adapt our medicine to treat him, but thanks to the profits of the game show, they are able to provide him every effort.
I won’t go into his career much other than to say that he apparently voiced Gizmo from “Gremlins”. That was a pretty cute little thing until it’s fur melted into a slick acidic mess of a monster. It didn’t terrify me as a child (i think i was 5 when it was in theaters, i wanted to go and my mom said no) but it did really piss me off to have the cute thing do that.
Pretty sure HM has done a lot of stand up comedy, interviews, and of course AGT. It’s all to keep his cover, any platform where he can comedically display his humanity, that’s where he is.
I don’t think anyone knows what his real motives are. Are there more like him? Will they come here in more game show ready space ships? I mentioned his youthful appearance, and of course this will eventually catch up with him, unless him or his people…have already planned our convenient end before then?
I’ll leave you with that, dear reader. Will be come for you? Will you hear a constant gentle rapping, rapping at your chamber door?
“Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from offmy door!”
Quoth the Raven, “Deal…..or no deal??”

[Interview TL] Holostars 3rd Anniversary special long interview with 1st gen - Part One
Source
Their bond gradually deepens because of "That Reason"!?
A gathering of the 1st gen members: Hanasaki Miyabi, Kanade Izuru, Arurandeisu, and Rikka! Special interview to commemorate Holostars' 3rd anniversary (Part One)
In the first part of this interview, we will be talking about their activities in Holostars thus far, their strength, and their growth.
Enjoy reading this article until the very last, for every "Holostars Fans" and also for new people who want to know more about them!
–The gathering of the 1st generation of Holostars!–
──Since this might be the first time some of our readers hear about you, please introduce yourself as a start!
Miyabi: I'm Hanasaki Miyabi from Holostars' 1st generation! I mainly stream various games and chatting as well. My favorite game genre is MMORPG, I play a lot of online games. My favorite food is hamburger, but because of my diet, I recently started eating more broccoli. I usually do things that I want and like at my own pace, while doing my best in my idol activities!
Izuru: I'm Kanade Izuru from Holostars 1st generation. I like music and nature, as well as myself. For my current activities, my favorite ones are playing guitar and singing stream. Sometimes I played the piano and came up with different variations of the songs I sang. This might be self-proclaim at most, but I think among every VTubers around I have the most variations when it comes to song selection...
Arurandeisu: Is that so!?
Izuru: I think I sang around 600 songs already. Outside of streaming, I often sang whenever I was alone or when I went skinny dipping.
──Skinny dipping!?
Izuru: Yeah. Both of my outdoor and indoor hobbies are quite extreme.
I don't have a lot of friends due to my harsh personality, but after joining Holostars I managed to find people who could accept my personality and since I started enjoying my idol activities as well everyday has been really fun!
Arurandeisu: Whenever Izuru went to the sea, he often sends me some photos through LINE
Izuru: I thought he would understand my boyish impulses best, and since he seemed to be the type who took care of his body well and carries an outdoor aura similar to mine. I can just send him the photos as it is (lol).
Arurandeisu: I guess you're right, you did send a lot of interesting photos (lol)
──By the way, what kind of interesting photos Izuru-san has sent to you so far?
Arurandeisu: There was one where he was about to start diving into the sea, but since the winds were pretty strong it looked like a photo for a movie poster because of how "lively" it felt
Izuru: The one with me carrying a harpoon on my back huh–
Arurandeisu: Yeah! It gave me a "Heading to the war nau" feeling when I received it on LINE.
It was so cool.
Miyabi: What–! I wanna see it!
Arurandeisu: And the person who received such a cool photo is the one and only Arurandeisu, the genuine Italian Man of Holostars 1st generation. I don't go out pretty often but I love training my body so I like doing muscle training, recently I got really into DJing as well.
──Oh— What cool hobbies you have!
Arurandeisu: It feels like I'm able to have a lot of fun with every Holostars fan whenever I play and connect each Holostars song myself, so I think I did find quite a nice hobby.
──Do you also make your own song?
Arurandeisu: I originally liked rap music, But doing all the songwriting by myself is quite difficult to do... I did buy the necessary equipment and challenged myself once but it didn't turn out well (lol). Learning about songwriting from scratch requires a lot of calories as well, so it's quite impossible for me now. As I thought about how to approach rapping and its depth, I decided to become a DJ.
Other than that I also do gaming stream, chatting as well as various things. You would see me streaming over at YouTube pretty often, so some even referred to me as the "Streaming Monster" a lot (lol).
──Thank you very much. Next is Rikka-san, if you would.
Rikka: I'm the "Holoroid" of Holostars 1st generation, Rikka. A holoroid is an android made by Cover Corp. by cultivating various technologies they had. Similarly with Izuru, I often do guitar and singing streams, as well as making songs and doing various music-related projects.
Also, I have a program called "RiTunes Labo" where I invite VTubers and even non-VTubers guests for a chat and a duet session. It's a program that aims to give broader reach through music, so it is mainly aimed to be watched easily even for those who are not familiar with VTubers.
As for games I personally like those "death game" types of stuff, I also occasionally stream games that you can clear repeatedly as a way to pass time.
──This may seem out of nowhere, but there was a time when I participated in Rikka-san's viewer participation tetris stream. Everyone is really, really strong...
Rikka: Right! My viewers are truly strong there... I think the most amazing thing is that there's someone who joined the game and turned out to be one of the players who has reached the world ranking
Arurandeisu: Is that for real!?
Rikka: That sure was a hellish time... Tetris players are truly fearsome people. Anyway, I often do live sessions during my anniversary and do a lot of song covers so I would be happy if you could check me out starting with my music.
–The "real" start of Holostars began after a certain meetup in December 2020!?–
──This year will mark the 3rd year since the start of Holostars, how do you all feel about it?
Miyabi: I feel glad to be able to say this now, finally it has been 3 years since then. Personally, I felt like I've been a Holostars member for a longer period than that, though in reality, it's only been for 3 years instead.
Izuru: Right. I do feel that 3 years is a comparatively long period. At the same time, there's more stuff to do once we pass this 3rd year as well.
Arurandeisu: Now that you mentioned it, 3 years sure passed down rather quickly. I think as long we keep doing things that we enjoy, even a mere 6, 10, or even 15 years wouldn't feel that long for us
Izuru: Something like that yeah.
Arurandeisu: Yep. Just gonna let time pass by itself... (lol)
(Everyone started laughing)
Izuru: Sorry, we're just like this normally (lol).
──It's alright! Feel free to talk about any topics too...!
Arurandeisu: At least write only the good lines please (lol). How about you Rikka-kun?
Rikka: I'm not particularly the type who cares about how long I've been on this road, but I feel like the things I could do from 3D and various lives keep adding on as more time passes. The fact that we're able to hold this anniversary event is proof that we've received even more support this year, so I feel really thankful for it. For that, I'd like to continue doing my best for the next 4, 5th years and more so I wouldn't take this support for granted.
Izuru: How wonderful...!
Arurandeisu: Can you make it like I was the one who said that, please, and thank you.
──(laughs). Let's reminisce about everyone’s activities up until today this time, is there a moment that leave a strong impression so far?
Miyabi: That would be the 1st ACT (concert).
Izuru/Arurandeisu/Rikka: Yeah.
Miyabi: It's the one event where I truly felt I've done "everything" with everyone, from singing, dancing, and training. We've done a lot of solo stuff before but this was the first time that the 9 of us are working together for a big event, so we often practice together as well.
Rikka: It's the moment we feel the most "Idol" I think.
Arurandeisu: It's like doing club activities so it's quite fun. We often make plans like "Going to studio xx for practice this month and day".
Miyabi: Yeah true! After practicing for a few hours, we usually had dinner together as well.
Izuru: Rather than an adolescent complex, this feels more like a "Second Adolescent" moment instead.
Rikka: We don't have that much time to hang out once we reach adulthood after all.
Arurandeisu: That's right. Normally, we wouldn't be able to experience things like this.
Miyabi: Right... There's also a time when we're recording stuff at the studio, every moment is truly important.
Arurandeisu: Looking back, we sure did tons of stuff huh–
Izuru: Even within that one concert, there are lots of things we experienced so it's quite a big deal.
──So that concert must've been quite a special moment for all of you. How about from each of you personally, Are there any that leave a strong impression too?
Miyabi: Personally it was when I had an original song written by my favorite producer, 40mP. When I met him and received guidance directly, it really left a deep impression on me. Both of us were actually quite shy, so during our first meeting both of us were pretty nervous that it created an awkward situation instead (lol).
But even so, when I asked him for a handshake he was really kind and nice until the end. To have my favorite artist compose a song for me is already something I will remember deeply, and at the same time, it remains a precious memory for me.
Arurandeisu: It's been 2 years since then huh... I originally did demon-slaying and my idol activity was merely a side job. I then joined Holostars as a way to challenge myself and it was right when I changed my focus as an idol, that itself might’ve been the biggest turning point in my life so far.
After that, my activities got more varied as time passed, and I started taking singing and dancing lessons for live performances. I believe I managed to do all that because I've started to take myself more seriously as part of Holostars. Because of that turning point, I was able to give my 100% percent in this world, and I think that's how I managed to stand until now.
Izuru: (while sniffling on purpose) ...I see now.
Arurandeisu: Do you really have to put on a fake sobbing now!?
All: (laughs)
Arurandeisu: For me, that turning point itself is something that leaves a deep impression on me.
Rikka: I think it was quite a nice story.
Izuru: This might sound similar to Miyabi's answer, but I guess having a solo original song would really leave a deep impression on anyone. Before I joined Holostars... Right after I graduated middle high, I bought my guitar, and then immediately started doing street live although badly.
I tried conveying all those various memories into lyrics and made a song out of it, but I also asked someone to help with composing it under my supervision.
Once it took a proper shape and people could finally listen to my songs, it became a valuable experience for me and one that left a strong impression on me.
There's also one more thing actually...
──And that is...?
Izuru: It's when every Holostars member gathered together in December 2020 for an offline meetup. That was the first time we saw each other directly and had a proper conversation together. For me, this meetup holds a special meaning in my life as we managed to be acquaintances in such a unique way.
Before that, it felt like everyone was so far away but once we met each other, I feel like we've only gotten closer since then.
Arurandeisu: Oh right, it does feel like we "finally" met after a while.
Izuru: Usually we can just use Discord to work on something, but because of that first contact, I think it started a habit where we would meet up somewhere to discuss something together so everything could run smoothly. All of us seem to like each other equally by now.
Arurandeisu: Yep yep.
Rikka: For me, it would be my 3D debut stream. I'm the first person among all my Holostars peers who received a 3D, but on the debut day, some said how "easy" it must've been for me. Rather than worrying about criticism, I was more nervous and wondered if I could "pull it off well" instead and felt quite afraid at that time.
But in the end, I managed to muster up courage thanks to the feeling I tried to convey in my songs. I think that stream still holds a special place in my memory until now. Other than that, I also thought the December 2020 meetup had a deep impression on me.
Izuru: In a way, everything starts there. If we think about it like that, when Miyabi and myself debuted– around June 2019... It took 1.5 years until Holostars actually started then...?
Miyabi: Ahahaha (lol).
Arurandeisu: Don't crush our start line like that (lol). Before that we were mostly on our own, wasn't it? There was a time when I met up with Rikka-kun to have lunch before meeting with everyone else.
Rikka: Ah right. I think that's the first time we met Roberu too.
Miyabi: You two also collab’ed pretty often too, right?
Arurandeisu: Yeah. I did meet everyone else for a short time as well, but the December 2020 event was the first time where everyone gathered together.
──I see!
Izuru: I can't say what specifically, but I actually prepared a huge surprise for everyone during that meetup
Miyabi/Arurandeisu/Rikka: (laughs)
Izuru: That first contact is where I'm willing to give that much effort.
Arurandeisu: That surprise was the most interesting part but we can't really tell you what is it about (lol).
Rikka: Now that you mentioned it. Honestly, it really was the most interesting part (lol).
Izuru: For real!? I put in a lot of inside jokes so I couldn't really explain it, but I guess I sure did prepare quite a surprise then.
──I'm quite curious about the content myself, but everyone's excitement seems to have explained it well enough.
Rikka: You talked about Ten-chan as well right? At first, he looked quite stern and wasn't sure if he "Would meet everyone else again" but now he had this sense of duty to be involved (lol).
Arurandeisu: It's like he's coming there prepared, that's what I thought.
Izuru: Nowadays he hardly feels like how he used to be, it's almost surprising.
Arurandeisu: That's right! It's already at a point where he would casually stay over at my place. Everyone feels like they slowly change over time.
──Personally, I think Holostars "playful chattery" is one of their strongest charms, so how does everyone decide on a "role" between each banter?
Arurandeisu: I don't think we ever decided on a specific role when it comes to bantering... I think, it just came naturally in each group.
Rikka: But Aru-san always gets the bullied role.
Izuru: (laughs)
Miyabi: Yeah he's the bullied one.
Arurandeisu: I can feel everyone's love from it.
Miyabi: Aru-san is good at natural tsukkomi and he can do boke as well, so he can adjust his reaction depending on the situation I think.
Arurandeisu: Thank you kindly (bashful).
Izuru: Just between us here, Aru-san actually had quite a potty mouth at the back.
Arurandeisu: Hey!
──(laughs)
Izuru: As for someone with an obvious role, I think that would be Rikka-chan and Astel-kun who evoke the feeling of "peace" and "in motion", making them the "driving force" for Holostars members themselves.
Rikka: You might be right, Astel carries a totally different kind of spectrum compared to me.
Izuru: Other than that, there’s Shien who appears as the balancer between both sides. Then there’s Oga with his generosity and multitude of talents. Roberu is always lively and good at talking, and...
Miyabi: How about me?
All: (laughs)
Izuru: You weren't as reliable back then, but recently you've been involving yourself a lot more so I think Miyabi's opinion is also important at some point.
Rikka: He's starting to be more open about voicing his opinion, right?
Izuru: Whenever Temma gets paired with Miyabi-kun, there's a sense of neverending banter in a good way within him.
Miyabi: Not knowing what might happen gives you a bit of excitement don't you think?
Rikka: He might be a genius in a sense.
Izuru: Now that I think about it although I initially thought he often thinks irregularly, It's actually something that makes the most sense. He's also good at keeping everyone's spirit at an all-time high.
Arurandeisu: If you put it like that, he might be the ultimate balancer among us all.
Izuru: He reminds me of a shooting star at some point though (lol).
Miyabi: In a way, it's pretty amazing that each of us has our own "role" within the group even if there's a lot of us now.
Arurandeisu: Everyone seems to be always quick to position themselves whenever we're meeting up.
Rikka: It's like they know what to do right away, and that makes the atmosphere around feel much better.
Izuru: That makes us pretty much capable of doing anything I guess.
Arurandeisu: Everyone is pretty high-spec! It may not look like it, but everyone has been doing a lot of stuff lately.
Izuru: Unexpectedly so. There are times when we are fooling around, but there are times when we're putting in serious effort.
Rikka: Yep. I think everyone could easily be an MC, a host, or basically anything. They're all geniuses.
──Seems like everyone here is pretty attentive toward other members.
Izuru: I think it's also because we trusted each other.
Miyabi: I think so too!
Arurandeisu: Right–, you get a feel like "I can practically say anything towards them without a worry" so it's rather nice, it means we can be quite relaxed toward each other too, and that we can pretty much do anything with them. I think being able to trust each other is also why we don't really predetermine everyone's "role" in the first place.
Rikka: If there's a catcher then one of us would be the pitcher, and by that pattern, there would be someone standing at the batter position already. This place (Holostars) feels pretty similar to this description I think.
Izuru: That's right. Each of us could also influence one another at the same time.
Miyabi: Everyone is always so hyper it's quite contagious in a way too. Arurandeisu: It makes you look forward to what kind of thing that would happen whenever we're meeting up, right?
–Growing up along with the fans–
──Regarding the topic of "Growth" that was mentioned briefly, during these 3 years, have any of you noticed significant changes or growth within yourself? Please let us know.
Izuru: Before joining Holostars I didn't think much about my lifestyle, it's not like I put in my all to graduate high school to enroll in a good university, but it's more because that's the kind of life I've projected upon myself at that time.
Nowadays I pretty much give it my all and think thoroughly about what I want to do, being involved in this kind of activity gave me more time to reflect upon myself more often than any other. From there I can see that I've already grown so much, at the same time I think there's still more room for me to grow further.
Arurandeisu: How earnest~!
Izuru: Leave it to me for this kind of interview!
Arurandeisu: Holostars' interview specialist right here! (lol).
Miyabi: I understand your enthusiasm, but try not to take every single question in okay (lol).
Izuru: I feel like I've managed to re-evaluate myself at the core and grow from there!
──On the contrary, what are some things that you feel are still lacking within yourself?
Izuru: Personally for me, it's the fact that I still couldn't control my emotions well, I think I'm still not mature enough on that front. I don't think it's good to always rely on our feelings when it comes to making important decisions. I'd like to gain more experience and improve myself in a way going forward.
Miyabi: I didn't have that much self-confidence at first, and being the very first to debut under Holostars has been quite rough due to the amount of criticism I've gotten. I took some of them quite personally and there are times when I wondered if I really deserved to be here.
But after 3 years– receiving my 3D and a live concert to boot, as well as collaborating with various people has made me gain a bit more confidence over the years. I've had fans saying "Holostars won't be the same without you, Miyabi-kun!", and that made me more confident in myself.
It makes me want to work even harder, and I think that alone is a nice thing. I think growing up, I've learned to not mind the negative comments as much.
Moving forward, I'd like to turn those negative feelings into positive ones as I grow as an idol.
Izuru: I've been watching over Miyabi-kun from the very first, and his growth is at least quite significant. I don't think there has been anything negative around you recently, right?
Miyabi: Or maybe I made it look that way (lol). I tried not to show my negative side as much these days, and instead focus more on bettering myself.
Arurandeisu: I guess you finally managed to control yourself better then.
Izuru: So you've managed to control your temper much better now.
Miyabi: Ahahaha (lol).
Arurandeisu: So even Miyabi-kun had grown up huh...
Izuru: Yeah, unlike you Aru-san.
Arurandeisu: Well I'm already flawless from the very first... So it'll be hard for me to grow even more beyond this.
Miyabi: ...Aru-san, you've changed.
Arurandeisu: Hey! This is supposed to be the part where you reply as the straight-man!!
All: (laughs)
──So have you felt a certain change within you as well, Arurandeisu-san?
Arurandeisu: Ever since I joined Holostars and became more serious about being an idol, most of my days are spent thinking about streaming and stuff I'm doing at Holostars. Things like how do I make my fans happier– I think there have been more chances for me to think about it... How's this?
Rikka: Are you asking this for real now!?
Miyabi: I think it's a good answer (lol).
Izuru: Rather than being negative-minded, I think he started paying less attention to most criticism lately.
Arurandeisu: I think it's because I've found my comfort zone now.
Izuru: That's probably because you feel burdened by doing basic content, once you started doing things that you like, naturally you would end up wanting to do your best on it. I think that itself is part of your mental support in a way.
Arurandeisu: Back then I was rather insecure no matter what I did... Like I'm not exactly sure what is the right thing to do at that time.
Izuru: And now feeling like you might've found the right answer for yourself, you started to be more comfortable in a way. It feels like you're being more expressive nowadays.
Arurandeisu: Yep yep. I'm just doing things that I like, and to be able to find an audience who enjoyed it as much has made me even happier.
──How about you, Rikka-san?
Rikka: I'm not sure if I have grown significantly, but after streaming for such a long time I think I've managed to learn more about making a good thumbnail as well as other important things. As for deciding on goods and merchandise, I tried researching more into what people would like to have, things like whether they'd like it if I made certain goods and such.
Miyabi: Feels like everyone has improved on that part too.
Rikka: Yeah. Not just singing, but I think everyone's ability to notice that small details is proof that they've indeed grown. Not only do we receive more support nowadays, but I think we have also managed to grow up together as fellow Holostars members
Now that I recall, in our previous Ichioshi Talk session I've met a fan who brought 3 of their friends to the event, and being able to receive a compliment from someone I just met made me really happy. I think it would be nice if we could experience something similar again from now on.
Izuru: It feels like we've fostered a really nice community.
Rikka: Yeah. And most of all, our fans are such warm people. Instead of gatekeeping, they welcome newcomers with a smile and even teach them a lot of things, in a way it's really easy to get into Holostars.
Miyabi: That's right. Everyone is so kind.
Rikka: I think it'll make it easier for people who have just known about us through this interview too.
Arurandeisu: Now then everyone, let's get along together!
Rikka: Scary–! All: (laughs)
