When purchasing crystals, make sure the ones you are buying are coming from reputable, ethical sources and are actual crystals!

Before letting any crystal come in contact with the sun or with water, make sure it is safe to do. Some crystals are known to leech harmful chemicals or elements into water when submerged while some will just erode away in minutes. Some crystals can also fade if left in direct sunlight for a long time (amethyst is one of these so keep that in mind!)

If you do not like working with crystals, think something works better for you than crystals, or simply are just not interested in working with crystals, they are not necessary for the craft! Crystals (like any other witchy tool) are optional but can not only provide useful energies or attributes, but also just look super cool and are great to put on altars or in spaces around your home!

Cleansing Methods for Magickal Items

Before using a magickal item it is suggested that you clear away any existing negativity and/or personal energies.

You never know who may have handled it. Most items will require a single cleansing before being ready to properly use.

However, some items may retain lingering unhelpful energies even after a cleansing method is performed.

Items inherited from another person who had it in their possession for an extended period, or items previously charged and used for specific purposes may be more difficult to cleanse.

If one application doesn’t do the trick, repeat the process. If that is still not sufficient, try a second method.

Please be mindful of closed practices when performing these techniques. Always check and research before choosing a cleansing method.

Remember to use logical means when determining which method would work the best for the situation.

Keep in mind, there are stones that can be damaged by submerging them in water.

Metals may be damaged by salt.

Lightly colored quartz, amethyst, and other stones may lose all or a portion of their color and energy when they are left in direct sunlight.

The least damaging methods of cleansing include direct moonlight, sound manipulation, and using your own personal energy.

Smoke Cleansing – This has been used for a long time. Smoke from dried herbs bundled together, candles, or incense are widely used today. Using the smoke pass it over and surround the item while focusing on sending any negative energy away allowing it to become neutralized. Incantations may be used in conjunction. Deities, Elementals, or other spirits may be called to assist if needed.

Water – Submerge or sprinkle water over items while focusing on your intent to cleanse the item of unwanted energies. Remember to be sure that the item can handle water. The best resources come from natural bodies of water including rainwater, creeks, rivers, and the ocean.

Sea Salt – Make certain that the salt will not be damaging beforehand, bury it in the salt and leave it for a few hours or a few days. This lets the salt absorb the unwanted energy.

Sunlight – Bathe the item under direct sunlight making certain there will be no damage warranted. Leave the item there allowing the solar energies to properly cleanse.

Moonlight – After sunset place the item under the moonlight. Bring it back in prior to sunrise allowing the lunar energies cleanse away any unwanted energies.

High Vibration Sounds – Try using your favorite music to turn up loud. When applicable use Tibetan Singing bowls, lead crystal bowls, gongs, drums, or tuning forks.

Pyramid Energy – Items can be placed under or inside charged pyramids meant for cleansing and protection returning the item to a neutral state.

Personal Energy – Use your own personal energy to cleanse items in question. This method is generally safe for every item. This can be intensive for some depending upon the quantity and quality of energies needing to be pushed away.

Charged Crystals – There are some crystals that can be used to strip away unwanted energies having the natural ability to do so. Amethyst crystals excel at this. Items may be placed on larger crystals or have smaller crystals set on or around the item to properly cleanse.

Top 5 Underappreciated Sonic levels, in your opinion

I was holding off on this one because being the weirdo that I am, there's a lot that come to mind, which is what happens when a fandom seems to only care about three or four locations in the whole series. So since I can do what I want with my lists, I'll instead list one per game. :] Not every game, just whichever ones that I can think of an example for.

Marble: the level design is blocky, but I dig the lava ruins aesthetic

Crystal Egg: really unique final zone, I'd love to see another stab at this concept

Hill Top: seems to get more love nowadays, but used to be widely considered the weakest Sonic 2 zone for being Emerald Hill 2: This Time It's Blue, I like it for being another unique take on a lava zone, very proto-Red Mountain

Quartz Quadrant: favourite zone (sorry, round) in CD, and not just cause it reminds me of @greenyvertekins' OC Verte Sinople, though that helps :>

Gigalopolis: an eye-catching city zone, even in 8-bit

Marble Garden: memorable Eggman fight with Tails, also has my favourite music in the Sonic 3 half next to Launch Base

Sandopolis: Act 2 might be a little slow, but I really like the Act 1 aesthetic, so there >:[

Marina Madness: level design is certified Knuckles Chaotix, but at least it looks pretty

Spring Stadium: I could really say any zone in 3D Blast because it's 3D Blast (Rusty Ruin <3, Volcano Valley <3), but I've really grown fond of the funhouse aesthetic here, shame about all the spears and spikes though :P

Radiant Emerald: glad they brought it back in Super Circuit, Double Dash, DS, Wii, this is a funny joke, pls laugh

Final Egg: picking one for SA1 is difficult because I think all of them are liked well enough, but Final Egg tends to get mentioned less frequently than other final levels in the series, and I won't stand for that

Pyramid Cave: probably the least discussed Sonic stage in SA2... well I like it (ghosts touching you inappropriately aside)

Ice Mountain: one of my favourite ice zones and Act 1 tracks

Techno Base: just as great as Music Plant

Egg Fleet: tends to get overshadowed by Final Fortress, I love how with this airship level in particular, the lack of clouds in the upper half of the skybox make it feel as though you're REALLY high up

Twinkle Snow: another favourite ice zone and music, even if the level design is one of the more... yeah

Digital Circuit: better cyberspace than the one in Frontiers (I would like to say Lost Impact for the atmosphere, but the tedium of the actual gameplay overwrites it for me unfortunately)

Mirage Road: underrated banger

Dark Desert: I know I keep mentioning desert levels lol, but a desert town during an eclipse is very striking

Aquatic Base: level itself is certified '06, but the music is S-tier and it paves the way for the greatest Eggman defeated cutscene in all of fiction

Night Palace: see Crystal Egg

Pirates' Island: interesting final zone, also leads up to TE DAVY JOOONES WITH YE

Aquatic Capital: includes Tempest Waterway as well

Jungle Joyride: despite the framerate's spirited efforts to drag it down

Misty Lake: I don't care too much for most of the levels in Black Knight, but Not Kingdom Valley looks nice

Sylvania Castle: aesthetically at least, it's a cool take on an Aquatic Ruin-type area

Dolphin Resort: cool aquarium/shopping mall combo, just a shame it was trapped in Free Riders

Aquarium Park: this has always been my favourite zone in Colours... between this and Dolphin Resort, clearly I enjoy me some underwater tubes

Titanic Monarch: dark and colorful simultaneously, and I don't struggle with it as much as most fans seem to

Mortar Canyon: its biggest crime is how short it is, cause then I can't hear the music :(

Egg Fortress: it might start off as a standard Not Death Egg, but I love the reverse gimmick in Act 2, and I actually like the final boss' brutality because it's Eggman punishing fans for portraying him as a dad ack ack ack ack ack

Room 5: Bandits' barracks. Bedrolls, supplies for maintaining weapons and armor, empty wine bottles, etc.

Room 6: Chimes attached to south side of north door. Bandit chief Kzarr-kesh's chambers. He is a 3rd level Khajiit fighter with Leather armor, wielding a Steel longsword and a Steel dagger. He is notable for his unflappable joviality and love of contests, though he is no more compassionate than the next brigand. A locked footlocker under his bed contains a scroll of Protection from Undead, a Silver dagger (30 gp), and a stone slab carved with an unlabeled map showing a route from this hideout to Seldren Morobor's lair. He carries the key to the footlocker (and the locked doors in this hideout) on his person, except at night when he puts it on his nightstand.

Room 7: Barren pyramid chamber. Facing the stairs on the west wall is an inscription in Jel reading "One became many". Stairs go down to Room 8.

Room 8: Ring of cracked pillars. It's possible to break them and thus collapse room 8 and everything above it. There is a 1% chance per day of this happening without outside effort at sunrise. Shelves on the walls are full of empty clay jars smelling of sap. An inscription on the west wall in Jel reads "Many become one."

Room 9: Sarcophagus made of stone. It takes a combined Strength score of 22 to move the lid. Unliving things placed inside will have decay reversed but will not be restored to life.

Goddesses?

The Rose Quartz Rebellion started some 5300 years before the start of the show (which is loosely set around 2010), but there was a Gem colony on the planet since long before that. To put that in context, the Great Pyramid was only built about 4600 years ago. Meaning that Gems have been on Earth (and had a presence all across the planet) pretty much for all of the history of Human civilization.

Granted, for most of that time, it was just the four Crystal Gems. But they were constantly coming and going across the planet in search of the dozens to hundreds of corrupted monsters, as well as collecting weapons and artifacts, to safeguard. They were there (and so were countless ruins and structures complete with murals and statues depicting other Gems who Humans would interact with), being witnessed performing superhuman, magic feats.

Undying, powerful, above the concerns of Humans. Basically ... goddesses.

It makes me wonder how the mythology of Gem Earth would differ from Real Eart ... Like, is it basically the same save for a scattering of influences? Does Athena bear a striking resemblance to Pearl, is the Virgin Mary 8 feet tall and pink like Rose Quartz? Or did the Gems originate many of the myths, and Humans added their own stories and interpretations to what they recounted with embellishment? Were Inana and the Humbaba invented after seeing how badass Garnet was fighting a corrupted Gem, was Kali born from seeing Alexandrite go berserk? Or did the Gems simply inspire new myths and figues to existing canon and pantheons? Is the Norse canon all accounted for, but also includes a story of Amfest the Dwarf Lady who once drank Odin under the table? Or is the mythology completely different?

Were the Gems ever worshipped?

Just some thoughts I've been having. I love mythology, I love "Steven Universe", so I love thinking about the two together.

"Sir, you might want to see this," Bdubs said as he peeked into the Mayor's office.

"Oh? Have you found the Mycelium Resistance at last?" Scar said brightly as he got to his feet.

"Well, I- I don't really know. It's- just come and see, alright?" Bdubs said.

"Alright, alright. Lead on, my loyal captain!" Scar said.

Bdubs led him over to Cub's quartz shop, where the invincible end crystals pointed right up to the 0,0 origin of the world. Scar didn't see anything amiss just yet until-

"Hey. What's that weird- that's not mycelium, is it? That dark green stuff?" Scar said, seeing the strange substance spilling out from the central column where Cub kept his stock.

"I don't know what it is, it just appeared! Joe saw it, he reported it to me, and I felt you ought to know, sir. I don't know if it being here means Cub has anything to do with it, or if it's just a coincidence. I wouldn't touch it, though. It could be dangerous," Bdubs said.

"Hmm. Well, Joe was right to report this. I need to know if anything appears here that risks the beautiful grass of the shopping district! I suggest we ask Cub first, just to see what he has to say for himself. And if it's not him, well, we'll look elsewhere!" Scar said.

"Sounds good to me. I'll cordon off the shop and investigate further," Bdubs said.

Scar went first to the pyramid, and saw the huge crystal growths on a small island near the pyramid. They were emitting a strange kind of energy that Scar didn't like, and he liked it even less when he saw more of that strange dark green material at the base of the crystals.

"Hmm. This doesn't seem good at all," Scar said. "I'll see if he knows what's going on here."

The great door to the pyramid was sitting open when Scar arrived. There was more of that substance around, and it made him feel very uneasy. Had something got to Cub? Some new kind of mycelium?

"Cub? Cub, are you in?" Scar called as he walked inside.

"Scar! Just the Mayor I wanted to see," Cub called from deep within the pyramid. "Come on in, come on in, my friend!"

"Are you okay? Only there's all this weird substance I keep seeing around. You haven't joined the Mycelium Resistance have you? Because I'll be very cross if you have!" Scar said.

Cub laughed, and it was the kind of laugh Scar knew came from the Vex. That sinister laugh that also carried Cub's chaotic madness. The kind of laugh that made Scar's spine shiver.

"I'm serious! It's all over the pyramid! And it's in the shopping district! Do you know what's going on?" Scar said.

He got to the entrance to the storage room and noticed that all the lighting had been replaced with soul lanterns. And perching on the top of the rail above Xibalba was Cub, only he had clearly been corrupted by that same green substance.

"Well, hello there, Mayor Scar," Cub said. "Have you come to spread the skulk with me?"

"Skulk? What on earth is skulk? Is it that green stuff? How'd it even get here? I've never seen that before in my life!" Scar said.

Cub chuckled and moved off the railing. His eyes were glowing bright turquoise green and black, as if he had been possessed. He reached for Scar and Scar backed off, not wanting to be touched by that stuff, whatever it was, that had coated Cub's hands.

"Spread the souls, spread the skulk, spread the souls, spread the skulk," Cub murmured, chanting the words to himself as he stared right at Scar.

Scar couldn't look away. He never really could with Cub, to be honest. "You're mad. This- this isn't you. Where's my ConVex, hey? Where's my fellow Vex? What's going on?"

"Oh, the Vex are dead, don't you know? Everyone's dead. It's just you who's holding out. Come with me, Scar. Come and embrace the skulk," Cub said.

"The Vex are not dead, Cub! They live! They're very angry right now, let me tell you! What's done this to you? How can I cure you of-of whatever this thing is?" Scar said.

"There's no curing, only spreading," Cub said, grasping Scar's wrist tightly. "We took over with the Vex, but we can do so much more with the skulk."

"Hey! Let go of me! Hey!" Scar tried to pull away, but Cub's grip was too strong.

Scar stared in horror as that substance - the skulk? - started to creep over his hand, besmirching his glorious Mayoral outfit! The cheek of it! His anger went no further, though, as Cub touched his cheek, and Scar found himself immobilised.
