so-called free thinkers when a bunch of millionaires from the most racist nations in the world gather to play borts in a top-of-the-line stadium built with forced labor in an authoritarian nation: I don't wanna have to look at it so pretend this is a screenshot of everyone talking about the World Cup
#football#not to be such a doomer but between this and working in the games industry#we are never going to progress as long as entertainment is prioritized above all else#like it's common knowledge that a lot of (in essence) slaves worked on and died for the Qatari stadiums#but who cares right#it's one thing when this is about like fast fashion or whatever#people need clothing#but football? games? are you fucking kidding me?#singlehandedly rehabilitating the public image of a dictatorial nation#because you just love to be entertained#every day on this site I'm thankful tagging is normalized so I don't have to see this shit

Rumor #5 - Per the terms of Diana's will, William inherited her things that were being stored at Althorp when he turned 30. According to Karen Spencer (Earl Spencer's wife), all of Dians's things were taken down from the Althorp displays at William's 30th birthday and given to William. Harry didn't know that and when he approached Charles about having some of Diana's things for Meghan and the new baby, Charles told him William had them and Harry flipped out.
Can you do a deep dive into this, I don't think William inherited it all, I think he took it first because ge turned 30 first and Harry joined him 2 years later, there's a thing about Diana's gowns and both her sons having to approve their display.
What William might've inherited, according to helenaurelia (it's not the same here without her) is Diana's official gifts jewelry (The Saudi Suite, Qatari Suite, The Sapphire chocker, etc) it has been a rumor since the C&D divorce, Kate wore pieces from the personal and official collection while Meghan only wore personal pieces
Old ask from May 9th
First, there's not a whole lot publicly known or published about Diana's will and/or the boys' inheritances. 95% of what's out there is largely speculation and gossip.
So let's get into what we do know first, and then talk some rumors.
Diana wrote her last will on June 1, 1993. In that will, she:
Named her mother, Frances Kydd, and Patrick Jephson named as executors and trustees.
Named Frances Kydd and Earl Spencer as guardians for any children who were underaged at the time of her death.
Requested her husband Charles to consult with Frances on the boys’ education, upbringing, and welfare.
Left the bulk of her estate in a trust for William and Harry, with instructions that they should split it equally on their 25th birthdays. She also had instructions that if the boys predeceased Diana (or died within three months of her death) but they had children and those children survived three months past Diana’s death, they should inherit their father’s share at age 21 and it should be split equally amongst them. Grandchildren of a surviving son do not inherit anything.
Diana’s estate was estimated at $35.6 million pre-tax; $21.3 million after tax. The lion’s share of Diana’s estate (about $28 million pre-tax) came from her divorce settlement.
Diana updated her will on February 1, 1996. In her codicil, she replaced Patrick Jephson as executor and trustee with her sister, Sarah McCorquodale. Everything else remained the same.
After Diana died, Frances and Sarah challenged the will and Diana’s estate in probate court using a variance that changed William’s and Harry’s age of inheritance from 25 to 30; however, William and Harry were allowed to access the income (aka interest) generated by their inheritance beginning at age 25. The full details of Frances and Sarah’s challenge, including why they challenged, and the variance aren’t known.
Frances and Sarah later gave one memento of Diana to each of her 17 godchildren - this becomes important later - and also in accordance with Diana’s wishes, gave Paul Burrell approximately $70,000.
In her will, Diana created a trust or a fund (it’s not clear) to keep and maintain all of Diana’s clothes, including her wedding dress. The clothes, especially the wedding dress, were often lent out to exhibitions all over the world; however, upon Harry’s 30th birthday, everything returned to William and Harry as per the terms of their inheritance. The clothing fund/trust supported William, William’s family, Harry, and several special charities. The charities were also allowed to receive royalties from the commercial use of Diana’s likeness.
Here’s where it gets messy. A few years after Diana’s death and probate was completed, there were unrelated court proceedings in which a previously undisclosed “Letter of Wishes” from Diana regarding her estate was revealed. The “Letter of Wishes” declared more of Diana’s intent on how to divide her estate:
75% of her personal belongings and all of her jewelry should go to William and Harry.
The remaining 25% of her personal belongings (including portraits, paintings, clothing, and china) should go to an additional 17 named beneficiaries - her godchildren.
The discovery of the letter and Diana’s final wishes for her estate really pissed off a lot of people, family members and godchildren, especially. It’s not clear if people were angry with how Frances and Sarah decided to distribute Diana’s estate, if they were angry at the probate court for not exhausting all efforts to uncover or find all of Diana’s last documents, or if they were angry at whomever held the letter for not coming forward years earlier.
(My theory is that the Letter of Wishes was found in the evidence discovery for the Paul Burrell trial. If you’re not familiar: after Diana died, many of her belongings went missing. There was an investigation, in which it was discovered that Paul Burrell had these items, which ended up being around 310 items, including clothing, shoes, and letters. Burrell was charged with theft, it went to trial in 2002, and The Queen intervened at the last moments by all of a sudden remembering that she had given Burrell permission to remove these items.)
Remember those 17 godchildren? The ones who received just one memento of Diana, which some of them called “tacky”? Had Diana’s Letter of Wishes been declared at the time of her death and followed, the godchildren would have been given about $100,000 each.
As for exactly how Diana’s assets, properties, and belongings were split up, we don’t know. Not a lot has been published or publicly discussed. For instance, the speculation is that William took his half when he turned 30, but it’s also possible that William waited until Harry turned 30 so it was an even split of the assets. (The former is probably most likely; William doesn’t strike me as someone who’d nickel-and-dime in his inheritance and since the brothers were on good terms back in those days, William even may have been happy for Harry to get “more” of DIana’s inheritance knowing that he’s the sole beneficiary for Charles when the time comes.)
We do know that William and Harry have the wedding dress. It’s very likely that whatever this fund is that has Diana’s clothes, they probably serve on the board of directors or are somehow closely involved in the administration of it. It’s said that this fund is the one that maintains and holds Diana clothes for display at Kensington Palace. We also know that the brothers got to take a personal item of Diana’s for their own keeping, and William took the engagement ring and Harry took the watch.
But other than those very few specifics, we only have rumors about how the estate was split. Most of the rumors are about the jewelry:
William inherited the big official jewelry and Harry got the smaller personal jewelry. (Helenaaurellia’s theory)
The jewelry Diana received in official capacity as Princess of Wales was left to a trust benefiting only future Princesses of Wales (aka William’s wife, George’s future wife, George’s son’s future wife, etc.) and the brothers split Diana’s personal jewelry.
All of the Princess of Wales jewelry Diana received (aka the official gifts) actually belongs to The Queen and was given back to Her Majesty on Diana’s death. The Queen then loaned them, or gifted them, to Kate.
Diana put most of her personal jewelry into a trust for future granddaughters, so Charlotte and Lili are the true beneficiaries, with William and Harry the trustees who sometimes choose to let Kate and Meghan wear the pieces.
I lean towards Rumor #2 - it just makes the most sense to me when you remember that Diana was actually a pretty hardcore monarchist and royalist. She just didn’t like Charles and much of what she did, she believed she was doing to protect the monarchy from Charles for William’s sake. So putting her official Princess of Wales jewelry in a trust specifically for The Princess of Wales makes sense to me…except doing so would have created a loophole for Camilla to take possession of the jewelry if/when she married Charles and we know Diana wouldn’t have allowed that in any capacity.
Which makes Rumor #1/Helenaaurellia’s theory the most optimal one. William gets the official pieces as his future wife would be the future Princess of Wales, Harry gets the sentimental, personal pieces.
I think Rumor #3 is plausible, but I find it unlikely. While it is true that royal protocol states any gift received by the royal during the course of official duties belongs to The Crown, any gifts given in celebration of a personal event even if official (like a wedding or a baby’s birth or a christening) remains the property of the royal. Much of Diana’s “big” jewelry was given as wedding gifts on her marriage to Charles, so they would’ve been hers to do with as she saw fit.
Rumor #4 strikes me as very tinhatty. 98% of me thinks it’s complete bunk, but there’s that final 2% niggling at me. And that 2% is Meghan’s 2019 NYC baby shower, when all the decor was pink and she was hinting to everyone that they were having a girl. We know that a girl is easier to merch than a boy and that may be why Meghan was hoping for a daughter, but I can’t let go of an extremely farfetched possibility that having a daughter meant Meghan would’ve gotten something of Diana’s.
Personally, I think we have to wait and see what happens under a King William. Does Queen Catherine continue wearing Princess of Wales's jewelry or does she use the vault? If Kate stops wearing Princess of Wales jewelry, does George's wife wear them or will Charlotte wear them? And if Charlotte wears it, does she wear them while she's Princess Charlotte of Wales or does she wear them (or continue to wear them) when she's The Princess Charlotte?
We only have about 20-30 years to wait.

Transcribed Twitter thread by Mouin Rabbani about why Israel has suddenly stopped equating Hamas with ISIS.
About a week ago the US and Israeli suddenly stopped comparing Hamas to ISIS. The term “Hamas-ISIS” had become de rigueur among Israeli officials in their public statements, and along with their partners-in-crime in Washington they often insisted Hamas is worse – much worse even – than ISIS. It’s a familiar playbook. In 2001 the Twin Towers had barely collapsed and Ariel Sharon immediately began insisting the PLO was no different than Al-Qaeda and that Yassir Arafat was worse than Usama Bin Laden. Israel’s flunkies and apologists immediately and dutifully followed suit.
But “Hamas-ISIS” is no longer. Israel’s acolytes have for the most part yet to receive the message, and continue parroting a line that has gone out of style with their leaders, but will probably follow suit at some point within the next 24 months.
So, what happened? Most obviously, the US and Israel have been negotiating, concluding, and implementing a series of agreements with “Hamas-ISIS”. It’s not a particularly good look to be in intensive discussions with, and make one concession after the other to, a movement that is purportedly more vicious and brutal than an organization that not only the West but also the international community considers entirely beyond the pale. Especially at a time when a broader agreement, extending beyond an exchange of captives, is reportedly being discussed in Doha by the CIA and Mossad chiefs – the city where not only the Qatari mediators but also Hamas’s current and former political leaders, Ismail Haniyyeh and Khalid Mashal, also reside.
The fact that Hamas is negotiating exchanges of captives and releasing not only foreign but also Israeli Jewish civilians, rather than slitting their throats in gruesome snuff videos also doesn’t help the cause. Nor do testimonies by released captives that, the violence and abuse of their initial seizure notwithstanding, they have generally been treated humanely. Of course, no civilian deserves to be held captive unless convicted of a specific crime by legitimate authority, yet the contrast between the testimonies of released Israeli and Palestinian civilian captives is enormous. Released Palestinian women and children speak of constant physical and verbal abuse, particularly since 7 October; all manner of deprivation; and an escalation of abuse once it became apparent they would be released. Furious at Palestinian joy at the release of their own captives, rampaging Israeli forces have also shot and killed several Palestinian well-wishers, enveloped most others in clouds of tear gas, and raided the homes of receiving families to evict journalists and warn against celebrations or even “expressions of joy”.
Palestinians are not ruled by the Israeli government in the same sense that Israelis within the pre-1967 boundaries are. Rather, they are subject to military government, effectively an Israeli military dictatorship whose rule is best described as totalitarian. It has for example banned flags, even particular color combinations (in clothing and painting for example), and in 2023 also “expressions of joy”.
Hamas videos of the release of their captives, in which they assist the elderly, provide water bottles, and wave goodbye (not quite ISIS-friendly optics) have been criticized as political theatre and propaganda. Fair enough. But it is still quite the contrast with the scenes outside Ofer Prison where Israel releases Palestinian captives. There, the best that Israeli propaganda can achieve is clouds of tear gas, intimidation of journalists, live ammunition, and bullet-ridden corpses. (And, for good measure, arresting more civilians than it releases.)
So not only did the US and Israel want to avoid the accusation they were negotiating with ISIS, the available imagery is also unconducive to the narrative. Joe Biden will go to his grave insisting he has seen videos of infants beheaded by Hamas, but it’s gotten to the point where even poor Jill rolls her eyes. Other Israeli and US claims have also drawn the short end of the stick. For example, the Israeli authorities recently reduced their tally of Israelis killed on 7 October from 1400 to 1200. The reason is that 200 corpses, burned beyond recognition, belonged to Palestinians rather than Israelis. This suggests Hamas was not systematically setting fire to live humans. Similarly, Israeli intelligence (or what’s left of it) has now concluded that Hamas did not have prior knowledge of the rave organized close to the boundary between Israel and the Gaza concentration camp. Therefore this could not have been a premeditated atrocity. I am of course not claiming no atrocities were committed on 7 October, but rather that as more facts become available the “Hamas-ISIS” propaganda line becomes increasingly untenable.
If we put aside Biden’s hallucinations and take Netanyahu off endless repetition for a moment, the ideological, organizational, and political relationship between Hamas and ISIS remains a legitimate field of inquiry. It’s also pretty conclusive. Hamas and ISIS are indeed both Islamist movements. But that’s pretty much where the comparison ends. To suggest they are equivalent or identical is akin to claiming there is no difference between constitutional and absolute monarchies because their heads of state acquire office in the same manner. Hamas is the Palestinian chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood, a regional Islamist movement formed almost a century ago. Its various national branches have sought to achieve political power through mass mobilization, and as such have formed political parties; provided social services; participated in elections, coups, and uprisings; engaged in armed campaigns against domestic autocracy and foreign domination; and in a number of cases formed internationally-recognized governments. It’s a fundamentally different template than that pursued by ISIS.
Hamas was established in the cauldron of the Israeli occupation, and like other Palestinian organizations actively participated in the struggle to end Israeli rule. In 2006 it participated in Palestinian legislative elections, fully certified by the Carter Center, which it won. In 2007 Hamas seized power in the Gaza Strip after a year during which its various domestic and foreign adversaries, to put it politely, actively worked to undermine it. In the intervening years it has in addition to attacks which have garnered global headlines developed relations with states as diverse as Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Russia, and Qatar; negotiated prisoner exchanges and ceasefires with Israel; freed and released foreign hostages (including BBC journalist Alan Johnston) abducted by rivals and criminal gangs; endorsed a two-state settlement with Israel; and cooperated with a variety of UN agencies and international organisations. Its governance of the Gaza Strip years has, to varying degrees, been hegemonic and repressive, but like its politics and policies defies any comparison to that experienced under ISIS’s self-styled caliphate in Syria and Iraq.
ISIS has in fact been bitterly critical of Hamas, and considers the group in its entirety, as well as its individual members, “apostates” and “polytheists” – its most serious transgressions of all. This is on account of, among other mortal sins, Hamas’s participation in democratic elections, its failure to govern solely in accordance with shari’a (Islamic law), relations with Iran and other regional states, and prioritization of Palestinian liberation. Perhaps for this reason Hamas made short shrift of attempts by the Islamic State movement to establish a foothold in the Gaza Strip, primarily in Rafah, during 2015-2016.
END. Postscript: @rao2of has kindly pointed out a significant oversight on my part: that in its efforts to normalise relations with Egypt after initial post-Sisi coup hostility, Hamas began cooperating with Egypt's anti-ISIS campaign in Sinai, drawing even greater fury from it.

A "DESERT LION" NAMES ANALYSIS + name meanings related hcs PT.1
And PT.2 here:
DISCLAIMER: if any of the information reported here is wrong or even just partially incorrect/imprecise, feel free to let me know; as my main sources for this analysis were Wikipedia and baby names sites (lol).
Nasser Mustafa <English Wiki> (Nasir Mustafa/Nasir Mustafà <alternative dub names>):
Nasser Mustafa
The Arabic name Nasser (and his alternative spelling Nasir), means "granter of victory".
Mustafa is one of the names of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and it means 'chosen', 'selected', 'appointed', 'preferred'. It's used both as a name and a surname.
Headcanons:
From the moment Nasser was born, his parents, family, and tribal clan had great expectations of him. As the only male son of the chief, his name perfectly reflects the high expectations his father and everyone else has for him.
As a result, Nasser's parents' frequent verbal criticism, whenever their unrealistic expectations didn't quite meet reality, began to take a major toll on his psychological well-being from an early age. He began to link his self-worth to his efficiency and capabilities so much that soon negative self-talk, anxiety, and burnout became recurring struggles for him.
Whether it's in school, sports, personal relationships, or generally just life, failing is his worst fear.
He has a complicated relationship with Messer, but other than that he (tries and) gets along with everyone (probably due to his desperate need to be liked and fulfill the expectations his family has, or perhaps because he feels extremely lonely and vulnerable).
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Far Farouk <English Wiki> (Faraz Farooq <alternative dub names>):
Faraz Farouk
Faraz is a Persian gender neutral name that means “elevation”, and figuratively “one whose condition in life is improving”.
Farouk is an alternative spelling of the Arabic surname Farooq, which literally means "the one who distinguishes between right and wrong."
Headcanons:
He's quite equilibrated in his way of living life.
His parents are kind and generous, as sharing what they have is their biggest joy-bringer. They're proud and supportive of their son's talent in making date cakes and encourage him to explore this culinary passion he possesses.
His father is a doctor and his mother a lawyer and both couldn't care less if their son chooses to pursue a high-status career like their own. They love him and his little sister so much that whatever brings a smile to their children's faces brings a smile to their own.
He was raised to be very objective, not easily swayable by illogical thinking and common opinions.
He's friendly with anyone, but he specifically enjoys hanging out with Musa, Djamel, Messer, and Seiyd.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Bjorn Kyle <English Wiki> (a super random name choice imo) (Bilal Kalil/Bilial Kalil <alternative dub names>):
Bilal Kalil
Bilal is both a name and a surname of Arabic/African origin. It's meaning varies from site to site, but the main are "full moon", "moist", "water" and "refreshment". Bilal is also linked to the name of a companion of the prophet Muhammad who became the first person to call Muslims to prayer.
Kalil is a less common variant of the Arabic name/surname Khalil, which means "friend", "companion".
Headcanons:
Bilal is not the friendliest and most approachable guy per se, but once you gain his trust and friendship, you can be sure to have a loyal friend.
His parents are affluent and successful Qatari and they have high expectations for their older son (he has younger twin siblings, a sister, and a brother).
He received the best care while growing up, attended prestigious schools, ate high-quality food, and wore refined clothes. Everything was designed to be perfect, except for one crucial element absent from his flawless lifestyle: his parents' support and unconditional love.
Bjorn always feels like a burden and believes he never lives up to his parents' expectations. Their cold and distant parenting left Bjorn feeling insecure and introverted, and he craves love more than he'd care to admit. The few friends he had growing up were carefully chosen by his family to align with their ambitious and success-driven social circle. They were sons of doctors, politicians, lawyers, etc., and didn't share any of Bjorn's interests or hobbies.
To add fuel to the fire, Bjorn realized early on that he didn't quite have an eye for the opposite sex like his so-called friends had, but needless to say, his environment was far from safe and supportive.
He knows very well what his family's stance on homosexuality is and he's already given up the prospect of living a happy domestic life with someone he actually loves a long time ago. He's terrified of what kind of consequences his eventual coming out would bring and prefers to behave under what he thinks is cowardice, rather than die at his parents' hands.
If he were to choose who he's closer to he'd probably pick Nasser and Zack.
He sympathizes deeply with the first, due to how similar their parents are in terms of how fake they are in loving and caring for them.
He thinks of him and Zack as like the moon and the sun. Zack is the sun in Bjorn's eyes because he's a whirlwind of pure warm energy, easy to be around, and genuine, as opposed to the kids he was forced to befriend. Whenever the darkness threatens to eat Bjorn alive, Zack becomes a beacon of light capable of leading the way out with his uninhibited optimism.
When he's with the Moroccan, the Qatari-born has finally the fleeting sensation of being free and safe.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Djamel Djammadu <English Wiki> (Jamila Wali/Jamel Jamald <alternative dub names>):
Djamel Jammal
Djamel is the North African variant of the Arabic given name Jamil, which means "beauty", "radiant" and "handsome".
(Jamila is the feminine form of the masculine Arabic given name Jamil, and Jamel is very likely another variation or transliteration of the latter.)
Wali is a name based on Arabic short form of Wali Allah "friend of God", "protector". However, this surname is more common in Kashmiri Pundits than in Muslims.
(The surname Djammadu doesn't even exist on the internet, and Jamald, again, is possibly just another variation of the name Jamil. The only other surname I could find something about is Jammal; from the Arabic personal name Jammāl meaning "camel driver").
Headcanons:
Djamel, the youngest of five siblings, has been spoiled rotten by his family and neighbors. His cuteness has definitely played a part, but he is also a very social kid, as he enjoys interacting with people.
Adults around him are always surprised when he engages in conversations about their country's economy and tourist industry, with extreme ease. He dislikes it so much when people automatically assume that just because he's young, he doesn't have the ability to talk confidently about certain matters.
Camels are his favorite animals, and because of this preference, he and Zack quickly became friends. Djamel is greatly interested and fascinated by his teammate's knowledge of such creatures, even though they don't get to speak about it often as Zack usually cuts the whole conversation short, as if embarrassed to be overheard talking about such things. Weird.
The teammates he's closer to are Zack, Far, Rajab, and Majidi.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Musa Sirer <English Wiki> (Musa Sylla/Musa Saila <alternative dub names>):
Musa Sylla
Musa is a male name of Semitic origin, it's associated with the biblical Hebrew name Moses. In Arabic it takes the meaning of "saved from drowning".
Sylla is a surname prevalently found in Guinea, from the name of the Sylla clan of the Soninke people, it can be interpreted as meaning 'horse people'.
Headcanons:
He can't swim for shit, lol. His parents tried when he was a toddler, but he just couldn't bring himself to stay calm when surrounded by water up to his ears.
On the other hand, he loves horses and knows a scary amount of facts about them. Just make the mistake of asking him about it, it's basically a hyperfixation.
When he was little and went to visit his grandparents every few months, his grandad would happily let him ride one of the most beautiful Arabian horses on their farm, as his grandparents used to own a stable for equestrian purposes. Musa never forgot his equine best friend once he passed away and that's how his love for these animals began growing. He'd love to have a stable of his own someday.
He considers Khalfan his best friend on the team. Another good friend of his is Yusuf, along with Far, and Seiyd.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Yusuf M'hadi <English Wiki> (Yusuf Massoud/Yusuf Mahadei <alternative dub names>):
Yusuf Massoud
Yusuf is a male name meaning "God increases". It's the Arabic equivalent of the Hebrew name Yosef and the English name Joseph.
Massoud is an Arabic/Persian given name and surname meaning "happy", "fortunate", "lucky" and "prosperous".
Headcanons:
Yusuf is a happy-go-lucky person known to have disarming luck in everything he does.
He gets homesick very easily and can get quite anxious when change is involved.
His parents rooted in him a deep connection with Qatari cultural traditions, and sometimes that can lead to high expectations he holds for those around him (especially con-nationals) that don't get met.
Such misunderstandings bring some issues as he relates to others, especially with free-spirited and more Western-oriented teammates. More than once he feels the pull to "correct" the behavior of some of them when they act in a way that by his standards (often religious driven) is wrong and borders on being immoral.
But then again, he knows better than to do that (on one occasion he said the wrong thing to the right person, at the wrong moment, and by the end of the whirlwind of carefully crafted insults and harsh accusations of hypocrisy his comment triggered, Yusuf ended up crying his eyes out in his room out of embarrassment).
He's really close to Khalfan, Seiyd, and Far. He also enjoys the company of Nasser and Musa. He doesn't enjoy the infamous teammate's company anymore, but they used to be on good terms.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Sulai Sulaiman <English Wiki> (Sulayk Sulaiman/Sly Salomon/Sly Sulayman <alternative dub names>):
Sulayk Sulaiman
Sulayk is an Arabic given name that means "traveller" and "walker".
(Sulai and Sly are not even actual names according to what little information I could find about them. Other smilar Arabic names I've found are Sulay and Suli, but apparently they're both female given names.)
Sulaiman is one of the many English transliteration of the Arabic name/surname Suleiman. It means "peaceful" and "man of peace" and corresponds to the Jewish name, Shlomoh, and the English one, Solomon.
Headcanons:
He's the sweetest guy you'll ever meet, always generous and considerate. He's non-confrontational, often trying to mediate or defuse fights when they break out.
He dreams of traveling around the world and plans to go on an exchange program abroad during his last year in preparatory school (Qatari public school service from age 13 to 15) and who knows; if he really likes the place maybe even for uni.
The sea has always fascinated him since he was a toddler, and whenever he can, he likes to spend his days at Khor Al Adaid (Inland Sea), a renowned tourist attraction located in the southeast of Qatar, where the sand dunes meet the sea.
I also have a hc about his ethnicity that I developed a few years ago when I first started to get into Desert Lion.
In my setting, he is originally Palestinian, born in Nazareth, and his family is of Arab-Christian descent. However, that never stopped him from befriending Adel, whose family is devoted to Islam. Even though their families follow different beliefs, they bonded quickly.
Zack is hilarious, but annoying when he bypasses boundaries for the sake of a joke. Nasser is super nice but also too stressed out and Bjorn is a good friend, yet sometimes he turns cold and ignores you for no apparent reason. That kinda hurts, but oh well!
Sulai gets along well pretty much with everybody on the team.
___________________________________________ ___ __ _
Seiyd Armand <English Wiki> (Sayid Armand/Seid Armand <alternative dub names>):
Sayid Armand
Sayid is an alternative spelling of the name Sa'id, which means "blessed", "good luck", "joy" or "happy" and "patient".
Armand (Armand is a French name/surname, the closest Arabic (Persian) name/surname is Arman, meaning “wish” and “hope.”).
Headcanons:
He is a patient person and usually maintains a good mood that is hard to spoil, tending to see the bright side of things, and having a very positive attitude toward life.
The relationship with his family, namely with his French-born father, is strained due to how contrasting their outlooks on life are. That is, much to his dismay because Seiyd's family is well-known around their hometown for their chronic pessimism.
Seiyd spends most of his time arguing with his overly dramatic father over daily events and how much his apparent bad luck influenced them.
If there's one thing Seiyd is not neutral about is how much he dislikes fatalistic individuals. However, it's not like he can just get rid of his own family, especially because despite all that negativity they seem to possess, he loves them to the moon and back.
Seiyd and Talal are really close friends. He also has a strong bond with Far, Bjorn, and Musa.

ISRAEL REALTIME - "Connecting the World to Israel in Realtime"
Mid day - Nov. 27
🔸HOSTAGE ESCAPED, GAZA CIVILIANS TURNED HIM IN… The abductee who was released yesterday, Roni Kariboy, says that the building where he was being held in Gaza was bombed and collapsed, and he himself managed to escape and for 4 days tried to reach the Israeli border. In the end he was captured by "Gaza civilians” who handed him over to Hamas. (!!!)
🔸RELEASE CONFLICTS, AGAIN… Reuters: Israel and Hamas have raised claims and concerns about the lists of abductees and prisoners of those who are supposed to be released today. Both sides present objections. Families have not been informed, indicating the list remains in flux.
🔸HAMAS GAMES (7)… Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan told the Qatari channel: "The discussion on extending the ceasefire depends on finding more hostages in Gaza. (( They lost them? )). A diplomatic source told CNN that there are over 40 hostages who are not being held by Hamas ((that leaves about 150 to release — so what’s the problem? )). In addition, there are some problems with the current pace of releasing the abductees. (( They prefer them to die first??? )))
🔸RELEASED HOSTAGE CONDITION WORSENS… Alma Avraham, add some tehillim (psalms) for her recovery. “Soroka Hospital: her continues to worsen, her life is in danger.”
◾️PALLYWOOD 3.0… The Palestinians publish a video of a Gaza family that decided to continue living under the ruins of their home. Except their clothes and implements (making coffee over a fire) are completely clean and dust free - fake, staged for the photographer.
◾️ISRAELI POLITICS… fighting between the elected coalition and the State Camp added for national unity over the adjusted war budget, which is up for approval today. War cost: 26 billion shekels. 17 billion military costs, 8.8 billion civilian costs.

Dreamers wrap up
I can speak for most of us: I think we are all mesmerized by Jungkook’s tattoos...
And his muscled arms...
Look! his lil 7 behind his ear!
We never get to see this part of his upper arm so clearly. It looks like a full moon but with clouds obscuring it a little:
So he has a “white” moon and a “black” sun? 💀
Kookie was also hot in more ways than one:
Okay, back to being long-winded cuz I got shit to say:
So here is the blog post on my initial thoughts about this whole Qatar World Cup involvement. And then a follow-up of my thoughts blog post on the Dreamers MV after its release (scroll down some on the blog post to get to it).
And now we know even more information surrounding JK’s involvement in that FIFA supposedly recruited just Jungkook for the gig. They didn’t want the other “kookies” just Jungkookie (that was cringey when I heard it). I know this is what was said in the media over there. But we also know FIFA is not the most honest and upstanding entity in sports. No entity in sports is. It’s about the money. Whatever it takes to make the most money...
I’m not saying this isn’t really what happened and we really do not know the timing of any of it or exactly how it went down. But I’m not gonna buy it wholly just because that’s how they said it did. I’m always that skeptical bitch, you know?
It seems like when it was all coming out during the summer, we know now BTS had already determined how the rest of the year was going to play out. When FIFA approached BigHit, perhaps the answer was “no” the group is not scheduling any activities but individual members are available. And that’s how it could have gone down. Again, that’s just me talkin’ out my ass too. Because I certainly know nothing. I just know how the media works and how these major sports organizations are gonna spin things to their benefit.
Kookie did a great job though, no matter how it all came to be.
The World Cup is over. Congratulations Argentina, well done. But the event had a major amount of controversy due to the fact it was held in Qatar:
1) People including spectators as well as teams and players, were told not to wear anything resembling a rainbow on their clothing...people were harassed about it IN PUBLIC by Qatari authorities. That’s not cool. Source story here.
2) Major sponsor, Budweiser, was told at the last minute before the opening ceremony they couldn’t sell beer outside the stadiums. A MAJOR FUCKING SPONSOR! IT’S BEER! AND SPORTS! THEY GO TOGETHER! BAM! Source story here.
Another source article here questioning the suitability of Qatar hosting this major sports event.
Kookie traveled to Qatar TWICE for his World Cup work. Don’t get me wrong, I am sure that part of the world is very beautiful in its own way with its own charms. Kookie seems to have had a good experience overall, but he was there to work and then left immediately. He was surrounded by his entourage and protected. Chief bodyguard was there holding that umbrella over Kookie the entire time ready to stiff-arm anyone who came close.
Being the kind person and professional he is, Kookie said nice words about his time there:
His opening ceremony performance did not go smoothly either, it is said his in-ears were not working. He was off key once or twice. I know he wasn’t happy about that. But the performance looked amazing.
And when we finally hear the Dreamers song, the “theme song” for the entire World Cup event... we learn these are the lyrics of the song:
Gather 'round now, look at me (Hayya, hayya) Respect the love the only way (Hayya, hayya) If you wanna come, come with me (Hayya, hayya) The door is open now every day (Hayya, hayya) This one plus two, rendezvous all invited This what we do, how we do
Too bad the actual setting was not so inclusive.
Last but not least... the fans who claim that Jungkook was not supported well by BigHit regarding this song. The song was not Jungkook’s song even though he performed it and may have written a few lyrics for it to suit his delivery better. The song belongs to (copyrighted by) Katara Studios so it wasn’t BigHit’s song to promote. BigHit’s involvement was exclusively to support Jungkook by providing everything he needed while he traveled back and forth and was over there working.
When JK finally releases HIS solo album under the BigHit label with songs he concepted, wrote and recorded with official MVs etc that he has a hand in directing, is when he will have his real, genuine solo debut. I am very much looking forward to it.
#ngl seeing him dance on top of that skyscraper made my stomach flip with fear#didn't watch 1 second of a World Cup soccer match on purpose#soccer is not my game#jeon jungkook#jungkook#kookie#i don't think the qatar general public realized JK has a full sleeve tattoo#fifa dreamers

I want to understand why arab leaders are living like the days are normal. Why are they living as if Palestine is okay now? Why are they there and there wearing damn brands and acting like everything is NORMAL. I watched the recent cups, Africa and Asia: SHAME SHAME SHAME ON all muslims and arabs leaders..celebrating or being disgusted because your team won or was defeated what is that???? Seeing pages and pages of people debatting on the hairstyle of a princess or a Queen, their clothes what is that?? How one is more pretty than the other SHUT UP. Are these your priorities in today's world?? Don't we see HUMANITY IS DEAD ? MY PALESTINE IS DEAD! Don't we see Religion is only an excuse for some to act as hypocrites..Don't we see we are attached to details, to boring and not caring for anyone but themselves leaders or royals? Don't we see we are loosing ourselves and all are now more and more following bad ones steps.. It's not okay.
Ps: i like your page but i'm sick of seeing pictures of that royal family smiling and doing all these useless PR.. So I decided to unfollow pages related to them and other arabs royal except The QATAR one
Everything you said is so TRUE !!! And I am really ashamed of commenting on Rajwa's appearances and All. But maybe it's the only escape for me/ us. The pain we're seeing is really unbearable. I need an escapade that's why am still running this blog.
The Qatari royal family isn't any different btw . They're just leading the negotiation between Hamas and Israel. Egypt did the same too.

Meanwhile, nearly half of the territory’s 1.9 million residents are seeking shelter in the Rafah governorate area in southern Gaza. On Wednesday, heavy rain encompassed the Strip, filled with displaced people, worsening the already miserable and dangerous situation as people do not have adequate clothing, electricity, or shelter. “My son is sick because of the bitter cold and my daughter is barefoot. It’s like we are beggars,” Aziza al-Shabrawi, 38, told Al Jazeera, “No one cares, and no one helps.” “Our house was destroyed, our child was martyred and I remain facing it all. This is the fifth place we have had to move to, fleeing from one place to another, with nothing but a T-shirt on,” she continued, hanging wet clothes outside her tent. In Gaza’s southern district of Rafah, where Israel told civilians to evacuate, Palestinians faced “intense” Israeli bombardment overnight on Wednesday. “This area was designated as safe and … the majority of Gazans had been ordered to flee” to the area, Al Jazeera’s correspondent Abu Azzoum reported. At least 27 Palestinians in the airstrikes, and dozens of others have been injured, according to Wafa. With nowhere safe in the Gaza Strip, more and more residents are becoming resigned to staying where they are and ignoring Israeli calls for evacuation from place to place. “There is no place safe here in Khan Younis. Israeli tanks are as close as 600 meters [1,968 feet]. There are snipers on top of buildings that shoot whatever moves. People do not know where to go,” Mansour Shouman, a Palestinian Canadian sheltering in Nasser Hospital, told Al Jazeera. Shouman refuses to evacuate Khan Younis despite the eastern area being “completely taken over by the Israeli military.” “Even if you successfully reach Rafah, there is no temporary shelter, food, or water. That’s why people are deciding to stay here in Khan Younis – at least it’s better than the unknown,” he explained. [...] In order to alleviate some of the ongoing medical crisis, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has announced a Qatari field hospital is being set up in Rafah, southern Gaza, comprising 50 beds, an operating room, and an ICU. However, with over 50,000 injuries and the collapse of the healthcare system in the besieged enclave, it is still not nearly enough to support the population as injuries continue to mount under Israel’s ruthless attacks. Meanwhile, in the northern Gaza Strip, the Gaza Health Ministry has reported concerning news following a several-day-long siege and shelling of Kamal Adwan Hospital. The Ministry says Israeli forces shot several Palestinians after ordering them to leave the Hospital. An elderly man told Al Jazeera that “the Israeli army used loudspeakers to demand the evacuation of the displaced individuals from the hospital, citing planned demolition operations.” “Conditions in the Hospital are dire with no water or electricity. Bodies are scattered on the ground,” one survivor told Al Jazeera. According to UNRWA, about 70 staff from Kamal Adwan Hospital are still being detained in unknown locations outside of the hospital by the Israeli military. However, five doctors and all the female staff have been released. “Reports from those released indicate that they were interrogated, beaten, and exposed to the harsh weather before they eventually returned to the hospital,” UNRWA added. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is “gravely concerned for their welfare, as well as patients, staff and displaced people reportedly trapped inside without electricity, water or food.” “Two mothers were killed at the Hospital on Monday when the maternity department was hit,” continued the UK-based organization, condemning Israel’s “systematic dismantling” of Gaza’s health system.

So like that the World Cup in Qatar 2022 suddenly was great, well organized, diplomatic victory for the country, suspenseful final and presto! packed it's weighed, the climate, workers and human rights finally we don't care, pfff, the magic of sport has taken over. It had been predicted, ok don't act, we're not going to play the game again. But besides that, the magic of sport… uh… did you see the after parties for the final? We talked about "embarrassment" about Macron who stuck to MBappé to make his com, at the same time what would we have said if he left without going to console the players? There are other things that were more embarrassing frankly. The despicable gesture of Martinez, the Argentine goalkeeper with her trophy. The behavior of the Argentinians in the locker room which humiliated MBappé, the racist Argentinian remarks since the start of the competition on the France team, the racist surge which fell on the networks on the French players who missed the penalties, Messi who was covered with the traditional Qatari clothing the bisht, for the delivery of his trophy, an unnecessary gesture and which marks this image when an athlete must remain in his sportswear, a gesture denounced on the BBC by the former player Gary Linecker, the mouth of MBappé on the balcony of the Crillon in front of the supporters. It is thanks to this crowd that football produces multi-millionaire stars, and a smile can be given alms even in defeat. In all sports clubs, juniors are taught to win and lose with class, respect and fair play ("always shake hands" my coach used to say). Too bad that during the biggest world competition this is not the case

We started the year 2022 with a bump!
January promised to be promising, but not everyone was lucky enough to start the new year peacefully. Among those on the candlestick were: Lee Taemin and his unexpected transfer from the army to public service. Still the situation of what exactly happened remains unexplained. Hwiyoung and Chani of SF9 were detained for violating regulations on being in quarantine by which the police were summoned. At the very end of the month we also got an update on former BigBang star Seungri, who pleaded guilty and thus reduced his sentence to one year and six months in prison.
February was not any quieter as, once again, we were informed of a surprising but very pleasant piece of news. Namely, Hyuna and Dawn got engaged. Of the less pleasant ones, T.O.P of BigBang left the YG label.
Wondae ended up leaving the DKZ in March after an extended hiatus due to a serious shoulder injury. His doctor was said to have recommended constant rehabilitation in the future, leading to his withdrawal from the group.
April for Exo fans brought sad news, namely, on EXO's 10th anniversary, Lay published a handwritten letter in English and Korean announcing his departure from SM Entertainment. Likewise, HYBE has no luck with its new team Le Sserafim, as Kim Ga-ram was accused of being a bully at school in April. In addition, the team itself this month was accused not only of appropriate and highly controversial choreography or clothing for the girls, but also of copying from other teams. Also unexpectedly, 2NE1 gave a surprise performance at Coachella.
In May, V, Lisa and Park Bogum closed Paris Fashion Week and AleXa won the American Song Contest. Meanwhile, TWICE became the first girl k-pop band to perform at a stadium in the US.
Jerome, Minsu and Woonggi was another of the trio of TO1 to depart the group in June.
July for the Le Sserafim band ended with the loss of one of its members. K-pop singer Kim Ga-ram after she was accused of bullying schoolmates. In July, girl group SM Aespa gave a speech at a high-level UN political forum.
In August, news of a rigged vote in QUEENDOM 2 hit the public. Many fans could not believe that Mnet was honest in its decision-making when announcing the results. Also in August, Girls' Generation returned after 5 years in a full band especially for their anniversary.
September for fans of both BTS and Blackpink was very emotional. On September 16, the music video for the title track "Shut Down" was released, but that's not the only reason the band hit the headlines recently. Around the same time, dating rumors surrounding Jennie and V from BTS surfaced again after more photos allegedly of them on a date in Jeju were leaked. On the other hand, Jeno with NCT Dream when he debuted on the runway of New York Fashion Week.
On October 14, an anonymous person claiming to be Ravn's ex-girlfriend posted claims against him on Twitter. In response, ONEUS' agency, RBW, announced that it was checking the veracity of the accusations and that Ravn would cease operations until further notice. On October 27, RBW released a new statement confirming Ravn's departure from the group.
On November 30, HyunA announces its parting of ways with DAWN. And on November 25, BlockBerryCreative announced Chuu's removal from LOONA. Meanwhile, Jungkook was scheduled to sing with Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi at the World Cup opening ceremony on November 20.
We end December with the breakup of band bugAboo. And iKON has left YG and the group members will now promote under other labels. And NCTzen are experiencing a nightmare after four NCT members, Taeil, Johnny, Jaehyun and Jungwoo, suffered injuries while recording a commercial.
