The Protective and The Oblivious (Q)

Description: Q likes Y/N but she is oblivious until he is over protective of her.

Request: How about a continuation of your overprotective fics? Q comes across the reader for the first time and finds her intriguing. After some time he continues to grow attached while she remains oblivious. Maybe he sees her getting harassed by a male crewmember and he goes feral. Thank you!!

Y/N watched from her spot on the bridge as Q teased Picard. She wasn’t sure what he was doing here but he sure loved to tease the captain. He loved to tease everyone, except for her. Picard found it strange as did she. She wasn’t sure why the god never was mean to her. Riker, on the other hand, always smirked when it got brought up.

It was like he knew something she did not. She didn’t understand what made her so different from the others. “And hello to my favorite human.” Q flirted as he walked up the ramp to her. She smiled at him and he got really close to her. “Back off Q.” Picard said to him but the god didn’t listen. “My my my it has been awhile since I have seen you.” He says and she thinks back to the last time.

It has been awhile. “Q.” Picard growled. Q looked at the captain, “Now Picard you cannot expect me not to get friendly when I will be staying on this ship for a week.” A week? She thought. She giggled at the thought of him messing with the captain for a whole week.

He looked down at her in surprise. She giggled. “Something making you giggle, cupcake?” He asked her and her face went red. Riker smirked at the interaction but Picard was more than pissed. He was not ready for a week with the god. 

Q didn’t care for privacy at all. Especially with the captain and Y/N. While Picard would yell and scream at him, Y/N would giggle and explain what she was doing. The look in Q’s eyes as he watched the woman talk about the new book she was reading was of pure lust and love.

Though she had no idea that he was looking at her like that. He had to admit, her obliviousness was cute but it was also kind of annoying. He was trying so hard to make it obvious that he was into her but she never caught on. “You are the most adorable human I’ve ever come across.” He said and that still flew over her head as flirting.

He wished that she would just see that he was hopelessly in love with her. “Q, I am sleepy.” She told him as she yawned. He snapped his fingers and she in a pair of fluffy PJ’s. She gasped and looked down. “Q these are so cute.” She gushed and rubbed her arms and legs feeling the fabric.

He smiled at that and watched at how amused she was. “Do you need a big fluffy blanket?” He asked and she nodded. He didn’t make a blanket appear like she thought he would. He got on the bed and laid beside her before opening his arms to her. She had a confused look but just shrugged and laid in his arms. It was better than a big fluffy blanket. 

The next morning when she woke Q was not there. She felt herself fill up with disappointment but then she smiled as she thought of where he could be and who he could be annoying. She looked at the time and decided to get ready for her shift. On the bridge she was training a new ensign that arrived on the ship 3 days ago.

He was very tall but short with words. He didn’t say much and seemed to be bored and not interested in anything she had to say. It got to the point where during the shift she had made a small mistake and the ensign blew up on her. Her eyes widened as the guy yelled at her and called her stupid.

Before anyone could say anything Q appeared and he looked angry. Y/N watched as he got in the ensign’s face and threatened him. “Yell at her again your tongue will be ripped away and you will no longer use words.” He growled. The ensign looked scared as he backed away from Q but Q followed. Y/N watched as Q made the guy cry but she didn’t feel bad. The guy was very rude and obviously not for starfleet.

She watched as he ran off the bridge. Q turned around and looked at the girl he was so fond of. She didn’t have the look of fear in her eyes but the look of gratefulness? “Thank you, but you did not have to do that.” She said to him. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her. “I will always protect you.” He said softly and she stared up at him with shock.

Did Q have feelings for her? “Yes and I have for a while now.” She looked at him as he answered the question she thought. “Thank you for finally noticing.” Before she could answer his lips were on hers and she was thankfully that he had been over protective of her and she caught on.

Learning (Q)

Description: Y/N, who loves to learn, catches the eye of the god Q

Word Count: 836

Request: Q x Reader where reader lives on DS9 and loves to learn, and that’s what he likes about them.

She was studying at Quark’s when Julian came running in, “Y/N there you are!” He exclaimed as he had been searching the whole station for her. She looked up at her friend and smiled, “What’s up?” She said, putting her PADD down to give him her attention. “Do you know who Q is?” He asked as he sat down across from her. She looked a little confused at the question as she did not know who this Q was. “I don’t believe so, No.” But she was eager to learn. “He’s here right now tormenting the captain.” He tells her and she nods.

“What is he?” She asked, grabbing her PADD again. “He claims to be a god of some sorts.” She types this into her PADD with an “interesting”. “Are you writing this down?” He asked with an amused expression. She nods and looks back up at him with a smile, “When can I meet him?” Before Julian could answer, the being appeared to her side with a smirk, “You wanted to meet me?” He asked and she turned to him. He was wearing a starfleet uniform and looked very much human. “You’re Q?” She asked and turned to him with her PADD. “The one and only.” Though that wasn’t true she wrote that down.

“What are you, Q?” She asked and he winked as he told her. “You’re a god?” She asked, a little amazed at the being in front of her. He nodded and snapped his finger making a PADD appear in his hand. “What are you?” He asked, copying her actions. She chuckled and told him that she was a human that liked learning about new species she comes across. Q couldn’t help but find her interesting. She only seems curious about him for research and not anything more. He had to change that. “Tell me Y/N what’s your favorite drink?” He asked, though he never asked for her name.

He could see her questioning how he got her name, “I’m a god. I know everything.” She nodded and wrote that in her PADD. “Y/F/D.” She told him and he made it appear. She looked at it, even studied it before taking a drink. She hummed as the delicious drink went down her throat. “Anything you want, I can give you.” He told her with a flirty tone. Julian took that as a cue to leave, not knowing what could happen. “Interesting.” She said and wrote that down.

Q rolled his eyes and took the PADD from her, “You are too attached to this thing.” He says and makes it disappear. She gasps and looks hurt by his actions, “My work, all my studies-” “I can bring it back don’t worry. You need a break from it anyway.” This was true. She was always on that thing, maybe it would feel nice to be away from it for a while. She couldn’t help but think that he was cute. “What do you want to do?” She asked him as she drank Y/F/D. He smirked and snapped his fingers making them both disappear off of DS9. 

She sat on her bed as she went over her studies of the past week. Q being the most interesting of all her studies. She was tired and felt overworked but she wanted to know more about the god that kept visiting her. “Do I need to take that from you again?” He asked her and she nearly jumped out of bed. She looked over at him with a shocked expression, having not expected him to appear like that. “Ever heard of knocking?” She asked and set down her PADD so he wouldn't take it away.

“Ever heard of resting? You humans need it.” She wanted to roll her eyes at him but he was right. She needed a break, a vacation even. “Yeah well I have a report to finish.” She tells him and eyes her PADD. “I can finish it for you.” He offers and though it’s tempting she likes her job. “No, that's okay but I can wait a little. What brings you here?” She asked him. “I wanted to visit my favorite human.” He tells her and she smiles at that. “I don’t know why I’m your favorite. I’m very boring and work too much.” He hated that she viewed herself like that. “Nonsense, you like to learn.” He sits down on her bed and she looks up at him.

He was already looking at her which made her blush but she couldn’t look away. A god called her his favorite human being, that was pretty awesome. “I adore that about you.” He whispers and she smiles. He starts looking at her lips as she tries to think of what to say but before she could finish that thought his lips were on hers. She was shocked but kissed back. It was odd but she never thought that her interest in learning about the universe would make a god like Q into her.

Okay, but qcard (platonic or romantic) with cosmic being!Q. Either because Q from the very start did not bother to appear (entirely human) or if after Deja Q he no longer was really comfortable in that form or if he simply decided that he has grown comfortable enough around son capitaine that he can appear in something closer to his actual form.

Because even to someone like Picard having his personal space invaded, being touched, hugged or even cuddled and kissed (however that would work) by what seems to be a sentient part of the everchanging universe would be quite the experience. Even if Q being like this would make it very obvious to Picard just how different they are species wise.

this is Quincey literally holding the Athena together. he is badly wounded (by what? something- or someone- powerful enough to injure and nearly kill a Q) and running on nothing but sheer desperation because if he doesn't literally hold the ship together with his rapidly weakening powers, they are all going to die. so, not only does Quincey hold the ship together as it tries to come apart at the seams, he also shatters all his own AND the ship's limits by proceeding to shoot it back towards the wormhole to the Alpha Quadrant at speeds that completely defy the laws of physics

put a godlike being on a Starship and watch him do anything to keep that Starship safe

Important question: would sorrowverse Clark have watched and/or liked Star Trek? I am asking this specifically because, forever ago, you said your Mr Mxyzptlk would probably end up resembling Q. And I think it would be really funny if Clark got halfway through his self-aggrandizing, reality warping bullshit only to think 'Oh, this is just like that TV show!' And then say it. Out loud. While pretending he didn't say it exclusively to throw an extra-dimensional lifeform off his game.

i wanted to say yes but when i tried to imagine it i couldn't. i feel like... clark has a weird relationship to scifi that depicts aliens.

Finally had a chance to put my Kayne to paper. I think part of the way I imagine Kayne is due to that legion gifset of David snapping people into non-existence theatrically that everyone tagged as being Kayne coded. You don’t really see his face in those gifs but my brain kind of filled in what I imagined the ‘front’ of that guy to look like. Fairly “normal guy”, gelled hair, kind of late 90s/early 2000s villain. The stole that he is wearing was inspired by Q from Star Trek of all things. When Q’s at his most sanctimonious and self important he is wearing the judges robes and I kind of liked the thought that Kayne would have a vestment of some kind but also he would tend to use it more for flair/misuse and tarnish it. Similar with the suit. These clothing items are associated with ‘power’ and he misuses and abuses them.

Dark Frontier should have had an ending scene where after Seven returned to the ship and she's self-conscious about having 'betrayed' Voyager and whether or not the crew trust her (they retrieved her on Janeway's orders but her orders don't always match the feelings of the crew itself), thinking of Tom's comment, thinking of what she was a part of, she stumbles upon B'Elanna. They're both working well past the time to do so. Seven tenses up because B'Elanna looks irritated but she just goes into business as usual about mistakes in Seven's work (probably because she needs to regenerate!) and how much time and energy it took to find her and Seven apologizes for the inconvenience (sarcastically) and B'Elanna accepts her apology then she smirks, staring at Seven. Seven looks unsure about what this means. B'Elanna reaches up and clasps her shoulder. "Good to have you back, Seven." she says. Upon Seven's nod of acknowledgement, she leaves, calling over her shoulder "Get some rest!" threatening that she'll be back in the morning with more corrections if she doesn't. Seven stares after her for a moment. She continues to work. She pauses. She turns around and gets onto her alcove, beginning to regenerate.

I grew up on Next Gen but didn't watch much DS9 but I need to know if Q shows up in the other series and also what the hell Picard is writing on his reports whenever they end up involved in shenanigans because his eldritch boyfriend was bored.

it IS true that deep space nine is very much in conversation with the next generation and you should probably watch the latter before seeing the former to get everything it's trying to get across, but, on occasion, watching ds9 without having seen tng is extremely funny
