Okay we need to talk more about death becuse my god was he executed so fucking good in there, the whistle of slowed cown round around the rosie (wich is a song about death you mind), the fact we see puss's green eyes reflect in his bloody eyes right after he rocked his shit at that bar, how his eyes go from red with black pupils to black with red/white pupils when lightning strikes how he is the first ever character (I think) to make a dreamworks character bleed and the fresh blood is accualy shown Everything, everything about him was done right Also in case you didn't notice Death is the only ever oponnent puss has ran away from in so much fear Like EVER

We need to talk about death and his writing his desing his voice him over all more becuse my good was it all executed so well

(also I don't know what it's called but I'm pretty sure there is a study where if you play a noise when someone feels a certain emotion and you replay that sound when nothings happending that someone will feel that emotion again and it was used here I'm almost sure But I might be wrong on that one)

As someone who saw an early screening of the movie yesterday I can DEFINITELY confirmed this guy was the best written villain I have ever scene. He was on some Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda level stuff. Straight up chills...👀

You know Death is a great character if many people are still debating whether he is a villain or not.

interesting trend I've noticed is that celebrity voice actors are steadily becoming less big deals? Unless it's an actor or actress people actively dislike (Chris Pratt, Awkwafina), the characters or media itself vastly overshadows the voice actors. That's good, I think. The pay discrepancy for celebrity VAs is still present, but maybe it'll go away as studios also note people are watching animated movies and shows for the story, not the famous person voicing them.

Genuinely innate horror at death the wolf in both Neverafter and Puss in boots. i don’t like ylfa waiting in a broken story for someone who’s never going to save her. and i don’t like whistle induced panic attacks. i just don’t. we should just go back to Shrek’s wolf who wears cute grandma outfits and reads raunchy pig magazines.

The first meeting, when he's hamming up being a fan

And finally after the fight, but it's with respect

Thought that was interesting, we love character development

more Patty stuff + rambling abt her wishing star path

The wishing star would be similar to Goldi in the sense that it guides Patty and attempts to teach her to properly process her grief. The path isn't inherently dangerous like Puss and Kitty's but it's not an easy path.

Patty's grief is a mix between absent grief and inhibited grief. It leans more towards the latter since she distracts herself by running the bakery. I also think she's on the bargaining stage as the whole reason she's going after the wishing star is because she wants to bring back her father.

The first area would be called memory lane. it would show memories of the person who is present in the area.

So for Patty that would mean memories of her childhood and her father. I don't think she'd be able to experience this area though because she hasn't gotten her hands on the map yet. she does get through the pocket full of posies without issue

i think the second area is where the movie deviates a tiny bit because she does get her hands on the map for a short period of time instead of Goldie and the bears after the Jack Horner fight where Perrito gets captured by him. This area is either called Mourning Meadows or Garden of Grief and it basically is kinda like the memories of the mist episode of the sumo anime where it summons the spirits of the departed but with the caveat that the spirit is always constantly out of reach so no matter how hard you try or how fast you run you'll never be able to reunite. Goldie and the bears end up getting the map from her without too much of a fight because the map fell out of Patty's bag.

As for the third area, I haven't really figured it out yet and Patty doesn't get to experience the area anyways since the rest of the movie plays out more or less like the canon version. She's isn't present in the wishing star battle as she ends up getting there after everything went down.
