SACRILEGE “Behind the realms of madness” LP 1985 (’...We sit in the corners, minds twisted with fear, for a world we shall soon see no more’)
1. Lifeline 2. Shadow from Mordor 3. At Death's Door 4. A Violation of Something Sacred 5. The Closing Irony 6. Out of Sight, Out of Mind
“Like the shadow from Mordor, creeping slowly forward Unleashed from it's sanctuary by the devil in man The world thrown into torment by their uncaring greed We stare into the face of death screaming to be freed Their control is complete, we the voiceless have none Beaten into defeat by the arm of the strong Now the shadow gets darker for they've stolen the sun And the sale of our earth has already begun Like Durin's Bane, rising up from the deep There is evil at work while the people do sleep As they plunder the earth, still we sit back and watch Their wrath consumes all that would stand in their path”

FROM THE MIND AND RECORD LABEL OF BRIAN "PUSHEAD" SCHROEDER -- 18 BANDS ON ONE COMPACT DISC.
NOTE: This comp particularly hurts to post because I don't think this has ever been released on CD, like, ever, and my life has remained incomplete ever since.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on a Japanese bootleg CD pressing of international hardcore punk compilation "Cleanse the Bacteria," originally released on Pushead's Pusmort Records in 1985.
Featuring: 7 SECONDS, CIVIL DISSIDENT, INSTIGATORS, SIEGE, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, CRUDE SS, THE EXECUTE, PART 1, POISON IDEA, GENOCIDE EXPRESS, INFERNO, MOB 47, SEPTIC DEATH, ENOLA GAY, HOLY DOLLS, ZYKLOME A, EXTREM, and AKUTT INNLEGGELSE.

FINAL CONFLICT - Ashes To Ashes 12”
(1987, USA, Pusmort)
Recently got a copy of this through a trade, sadly no booklet. From California, similar to Iconoclast but more catchy in spots. You can hear that melodic CA sound creeping in a lot. Great, heavy and desperate political hardcore punk.

Septic Death “Now That I Have Your Attention What Do I Do With It?” 1986. Pusmort Records. Hardcore punk/thrashcore/speed metal from Boise, Idaho (of all places). I got this mainly because Septic Death had a track on one of the best 80′s punk comps ever, the P.E.A.C.E./War album from ‘84 (Septic Death’s contribution to the comp is “Silence” which is also on this record). That track is pretty good - one of the best on Now That I Have Your Attention - but I think I was mostly enamored with the artwork done by Septic Death singer Brian “Pushead” Schroeder. Back in ‘86 I sent my $5 off to Pushead for a Septic Death t-shirt and I’m pretty sure he threw a poster and sticker into the package. (I probably figured a Septic Death t-shirt was the best way to piss off my parents and teachers without actually getting into any real trouble. I believe I wore it to school along with a pillow-case skirt and combat boots. 80′s punk fashion at its finest!). Pushead has since created artwork for many other bands, including Misfits and  Metallica as well as t-shirts for Thrasher and skateboard designs.
Honestly this isn’t the kind of punk I’m that fond of (not sure I really was back in the day, either). It is, for the most part, too fast, too chaotic, too guttural/screamy, too chest-beating masculine - it’s called thrashcore for good reason. There are a few tracks that have a bit more structure to them (and happen to be a little bit slower) that I do like, the aforementioned “Silence,” plus “Core of Reality,” “Negative Thrust,” and “Control.” Lyrically? Dunno. Sure the album comes with a lyric sheet but damn, trying to understand what’s being sung just with a listen is impossible (well, not completely - there’s lots of death, fear, blood, etc. etc.).

"...FROM ROOTS IN THE UK82 SCENE..." -- BEFORE THE POWER OF HELL WAS HARNESSED AND UNLEASHED AS THRASH.
PIC(S) INFO: "Protest, but who said you’ll survive?" -- Spotlight on pre-crossover thrash metal-intensified ONSLAUGHT, performing live at Malvern, UK, during the band's early UK82 era, c. early 1980s.
PIC #2: ONSLAUGHT -- Dick (bass) and Roger (vocals) live in Bristol, UK, c. 1983.
MINI-OVERVIEW: "Coming from Bristol, England, Onslaught burst onto the scene in the mid-1980s. From roots in the UK82 scene, which included a demo sent to Riot City Records, they evolved to a faster, heavier, and more aggressive sound at the perfect time. Onslaught were one of the first bands in the U.K. to take influence from the thrash sound coming out of the US from bands like SLAYER, METALLICA and MEGADETH and incorporate it into their own style. And they were one of the very few British bands to incorporate those influences successfully."
-- NEGATIVE INSIGHT, "Power From Hell: How Onslaught Evolved From UK82 Beginnings To A Blazing Thrash Legacy," c. March 8, 2020

FRATRICIDE 12”
(1986/2010, Canada, Schizophrenic/Ugly Pop)
Reissue of a remixed version of the 1986 recording that was supposed to be released as the split release with NEUROOT on Pusmort. I never heard a reason as to why it didn’t make it past the test press phase. Crossover scholars please chime in. Pretty good Accüsed vibe with a lot less fucking around, good steamrolling pacing that I can get behind. ILL Animal Chin shirt.

A WORLD [HARDCORE] COMP WITH OVER 63 MINUTES OF:
7 SECONDS, CIVIL DISSIDENT, INSTIGATORS, SIEGE, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, CRUDE SS, THE EXECUTE, PART 1, POISON IDEA, MOB 47, GENOCIDE EXPRESS, INFERNO, SEPTIC DEATH, ENOLA GAY, HOLY DOLLS, ZYKLOME A, and EXTREM.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on magazine print ads (one from Thrasher) for the "Cleanse the Bacteria" world [hardcore punk] sampler compilation funded and distributed by Brian "Pushead" Schroeder of SEPTIC DEATH infamy, and released on his Pusmort label in early 1985.
I don't know if this thing will ever be pressed on CD (shit, has it ever?!), and my life will forever remain sadly incomplete until that day rushes forth. Dammit, we don't all collect overpriced vinyl, y'know?! At this point, in my eyes, at least, pressing and selling vinyl is little more than a scam to squeeze even more money out of people. OK, rant over, and CD's still rule!!

PART 1 - Pictures Of Pain 12" (1981/1985, U.K., Pusmort) Dark record with amazing front and back cover art. It sounds like one of the more experimental bands on Crass Records, kind of a different release for Pusmort. This was apparently originally released on tape in 1981 and reissued on vinyl by Pushead in 1985. Not sure if this is supposed to have an insert, my copy does not.
