Key Types of Grass Cutters
Push Reel Mowers: A classic choice, push reel mowers are manually powered and ideal for small to medium-sized lawns. They operate silently, require no fuel or electricity, and provide a workout while maintaining your lawn.
Gas-Powered Lawn Mowers: These mowers run on gasoline and are suitable for larger lawns. They offer excellent power and maneuverability, making them a popular choice for residential and commercial use.
Electric Lawn Mowers: Electric mowers come in corded and cordless varieties. Corded mowers require an external power source, while cordless ones rely on rechargeable batteries. They are quieter and emit fewer emissions compared to gas-powered mowers.
Robotic Lawn Mowers: A futuristic option, robotic mowers are designed to autonomously navigate and mow your lawn. Equipped with sensors, these mowers adapt to the terrain and ensure a consistent cut.

PokeFair Select Scouts (September 2023)
There are two whole PokeFair Select scouts active as of today, and the goal here is to talk about both, and who is worth scouting for.
PokeFair Select A
Anni May - Anniversary May is a Psychic Terrain setter that has it as Psychic Wish, which means it goes around flinches because it's a trainer move, not a Pokemon move. This is fairly insignificant, but you know. May's focus is on Terrain, X Sp Atk All, and special attack debuffing through Mist Ball, into a fairly potent sync. At 1/5, she has Psychic Terrain and the ability to cover for someone like Giovanni. But she has direct and significant competition with Bianca. Competition that she never quite managed to completely win. Completing her at 3/5 is a worthwhile choice for the nuke, but Psychic nuke is not hard to shop for.
Anni Skyla - Still somehow the only pair to apply Flying Zone. Skyla is okay. Zone, team speed boosting, and Mini Potion All, but the real nice aspect is a 30% AoE flinch on Air Cutter+Staggering 2. She can also confuse for whatever that's worth. Completion at 3/5 produces an incredible sync nuke for a Flying type, while also opening up some nice support in the form of now a 50% flinch, debuffing offenses, and an odd tank set. Skyla's a pretty solid pick all around, both as a new pair and a completed pair.
Anni Raihan - Sometimes, when I talk about a 1/5 kit, it is from a place of theory. Not here. I had Raihan at 1/5 for a while, and let me tell you, dude is ass. He's bad at everything until 3/5. Sandstorm is frankly a garbage weather condition that few pairs truly enjoy having, and the stacking of moves up next is a lot more common now than it used to be. Raihan's claim to fame is, and always has been, his Sandstorm Propulsion. Raihan fast-ramps on teams, while supplying better DPS pressure for a Striker ally. That is his one and only mission. If you're at 2/5, I can safely encourage it. Otherwise, I do think Skyla is a far better acquisition for a 1/5 pair.
PokeFair Select B
Sygna Suit Diantha - An excellent Zone setter who perfectly complements just about everything on her type. Speed debuffs for Cakewalk sets, defense debuffing for all the physical attackers, defense boosting for team survival, Zone; Diantha supplies a ton. Completion at 3/5 really just offers stronger sync. I will caution, Diantha's Buddy move taking so much time in animations does run out her Zone faster than usual, which is a problem when all her damage relies on it. Operates best with competent offensive allies, but really pushes the definition of what counts as "competent."
Emma - Darling Daughter Emma. If you picked up Oleana, she's not exactly necessary, but she has fantastic 1/5 utility. Buddy move is an obscene nuke of a move, and applying +4 speed to the entire team is bananas. Potion is also very nice. Just be aware that she is borderline useless if the foe isn't Poisoned. 3/5 offers a sync nuke and some odd utility, but 1/5 is perfectly sufficient.
Victor - I shit on Victor all the time, so do not take my word for this. Victor feels middling. Grass is over-saturated, and his damage is nothing new or exceptional. His claims to fame are AoE Max Moves, which are good I concede, and Piercing Blows, which is nice but suffers from Anni Lillie syndrome, where the damage is never where you want it to be as compensation. 3/5 as usual gives the nuke, but Victor lacks for serious utility. I can't see many people needing him given how many Grass options there are, but he's not incompetent.
Ingo - A fairly solid pick. Sandstorm compression on a support is always really nice. I do think Ingo's fallen off a bit, as strong tanking ability has taken over as a significant concern for supports. He's not terrible at it but lack of defense buffing and limited Atk/Sp Atk buffing capabilities do hold him back a bit. And of course, Sandstorm is not that exciting as a weather effect. It's actively detrimental to those who don't need it, and those who do are few and far between.
SS Brendan - I expect this to be a popular pick. Brendan has a lot of good value as a special attack/crit boosting support. My hesitation on recommending him is strictly that 3/5 is pretty required, unless you're able to make use of just +1 crit. Team Sharp Entry into taking first sync is pretty mandatory for a lot of comps where allies want to outsource crit boosting. Luster Purge is good debuffing on a single target, but I always found him harder to use in CS, where Freevenge isn't guaranteed if foes don't attack you, and you have more than one target. I recognize he's still very good, but as a 1/5 acquisition I do think Diantha and Emma perform their roles better. Good if you plan to build him up though.
SS Leon - Hasn't rerun in over two years, and they still lock him to a paid only scout. That's fucking hilarious, DeNA. Anyway, Leon's kinda middling. Same as Gloria, all his power relies on the foe having a sync buff, which is generally bad news, especially in Gauntlet. His damage isn't great, and his self-setup is really wonky. He does get a Max Move, and it does okay, but there are a lot of factors that hold Leon back. 1/5 is borderline useless, 3/5 can do okay.
5* Select Fair Scout Everyone gets a free ticket to select a PokeFair pair from a lineup that seems to be Lodge-centric. So cool, we can get any lodge pair we wa-what's that? Oh, it's only three of them? Oh okay cool, thank you DeNA, very good celebration you've crafted here. The ticket isn't out yet but they did announce the choices.
N - Solid DPS and sync capabilities, even for 1/5. He doesn't gain much in multipliers on grid anyway, just a lot of sync damage nodes. He can be made to function just fine with minimal investment, and is a fairly safe choice.
Marnie - At 1/5, she offers very little. Low DPS, poor sync, no real utility options aside from an inconsistent paralysis rate. Unless going for 3/5 (like me), don't.
Raihan - At 1/5, Raihan is worthless. His DPS isn't great, his sync sure isn't doing much, and he's slow as dirt. Even at 3/5 I don't really respect him that much. Raihan can be good for special Steel damage, if you're having trouble with Steel-weak Glacia or something, but paying gems into one pair that has minimal utility for a single stage is not a great use of your resources.

How Much Does Lawn Mowing Cost?
A beautiful lawn can do wonders for a home’s curb appeal, making it look more welcoming and appealing. However, a well-maintained lawn requires regular cutting and treatment to keep it looking its best. If you don’t have the time to care for your own lawn, hiring a lawn mowing service Orlando can be a great option.
Many professional lawn services offer a variety of options to suit your needs and budget, including recurring lawn maintenance, basic cutting, edging, trimming, weed removal, and core aeration. Some services also provide supplemental landscaping work, such as mulching, watering, and fertilization. You can even hire a company to perform specialty tasks, such as creating attractive patterns in your grass, aerating your lawn, and overseeding.
The cost of a lawn mowing service depends on several factors, such as your geographic location and the type of grass in your yard. For example, if you have a tougher, longer-stemmed variety of grass that doesn’t bend easily, it may be difficult to create stripes or designs on your lawn. A lawn care expert can help you choose the right variety of grass for your yard to maximize its beauty.
Your geographic location also plays a role in how much you should pay for a lawn Mowing service, as it will determine what types of additional work your lawn will require to stay healthy and in good shape. For example, areas that experience all four seasons will need seasonal services like leaf clearing and winterizing, while locations in the South have an extended growing season that will require more frequent mowing services for longer into the year. Labor costs are typically higher in densely populated urban areas, as well.
Using the right central Florida mowers for your lawn is also crucial. For example, if you have clumpy, thick grass that grows in a dense mat, a push mower will probably not cut it very well. This is because a push mower uses a rotating blade that only cuts the top of the grass, leaving the stems and roots behind. In this case, it’s better to use a cylinder mower with a fixed blade at the desired height of cut, over which a fast-spinning reel of cutting blades describes a helix that forces the grass through the cutter and makes it shorter.
Some lawn care professionals charge by the hour while others work on a flat fee basis. The latter can be ideal for recurring lawn mowing jobs, as it allows customers to set a monthly or weekly charge and have peace of mind knowing that they’ll receive consistent, quality service each week. If you’re working on a flat rate, it’s important to calculate how long you’ll spend on each job and factor that into your pricing structure so that you don’t lose money on each one.

Ok I’m all soft again, so here’s a fluffy, blanket of fluff resting over sleeping bunnies ... ok maybe not that soft but ...
Henry loves you. Like, loves you, loves you, but he hasn’t told you yet. You’ve been dating a few months and every time he tries to tell you, you’re interrupted by someone or something, or he’s filming and he really doesn’t want to tell you over the phone. So one day you’re cooking and baking and you look absolutely adorable to him, although you think you’re a mess, and he can’t help but tell you exactly how he feels.
Extra points if somehow Kal running through a big puddle or swimming in a pond is a distraction once.
Gurl! That gif is doing things to me 🥰 you asked for fluff, here's it! Enjoy babe ❤️
Title: I found you
Henry watched you grumble under your breath about the mess that you were making. You had the entire island counter occupied with different types of cookie cutters, a recipe book, flour bags and other things Henry wasn't even familiar with. He knew you were stressed about an upcoming project at work and when you were stressed you baked, even if it was almost half past midnight and you had to get to work tomorrow.
"Henry, I'm going to lose my mind." You cried, pushing your hair back from your face and smudging flour on your cheeks in the process. You quickly understood your mistake and with a groan began wiping your face with the edge of the apron. "I'm gone mad."
Henry felt bad about chuckling as you hunched over the counter with your head on your folded arms, but he couldn't help it. You looked enchanting to him even though your hair was up in a messy bun and your black apron had flour dusted all over it. He had to get to work early in the morning, but he couldn't let you wallow in your misery alone.
If he were to be asked to answer honestly, Henry would want to be there for your stressful baking days for the rest of his life.
On many occasions he had tried to let you know how much he loved you. In the beginning he thought it was too soon since you guys had only been dating for a month and a half. But he had known ever since then, he had found his better half. Only eight months of your relationship and life had gotten in the way.
Henry had been away filming for almost four months, which had proved to be a real test for your relationship. He had been worried this was going to scare you away, the long distance and the inability on his part to be there for you when you needed him. But you had powered through and he had fallen in love with you even more if it was possible. He had come so close to telling you he loved you one night when he was feeling lonely in his trailer and wanting nothing but to bury his face in your arms. But he had thought otherwise. He wanted it to be special and so he waited.
When he came back home and saw you in the lawn, watering the plants wearing his oversized tshirt, Henry almost ran up to you and declared his love. Your smile, when you spotted him standing at the gate of the compound, dumbfounded and entranced by your beauty, it had brightened up his day by ten folds. Henry had just taken a step towards you, finally feeling like this was the moment for him to profess his love, when Kal had bounded towards you happily and jumped up with joy, knocking you over on the wet grass. The better part of that day had been spent with you laughing about the whole ordeal and giving Kal cuddles after a bath.
But now that he was back in London and getting to spend time with you, not a moment went by when he wanted to smother you with his love. Standing up to walk towards you, Henry felt a flutter in his chest. He gently made you look up to him, taking you in his arms and started cleaning the remnants of flour on your cheeks.
"I look like Pillsbury dough boy." You mumbled, wounding your arms around Henry's waist. Pouting when Henry chuckled, you looked up at him to only be met with his hypnotizing baby blues. He was smiling softly at you with his fingers caressing your cheek.
"I'll still love you." He whispered, waiting for you to react.
Your eyes widened as you took in his words. You had been on the edge of saying the four letter word yourself, but you wanted to wait and test the waters before diving in head first. Your cheeks warmed under his gaze, spreading down to your chest and ending up till the tip of your toes.
"You..."
Henry's smile turned to a wide grin at finally being able to say it out loud. "I love you, baby." He said before tilting his head to the side and leaning in for a tender kiss. Your mind became blank with emotions over flooding it and you pulled him tight against your body and melted in his arms.
Breaking away from the kiss, you hugged him and felt yourself giddy with sentiments, smiling from ear to ear in his embrace. "I love you too, Henry." You mumbled against his chest, feeling him close his arms tighter around you.
The stress of work was soon forgotten as you and Henry spend the rest of the night, eating cookies with milk while explaining to each other how long you both had been holding the feelings inside and how you were finally relieved to let it out.

The Witching Hour - Chapter 1 - All Hallows’ Eve
Summary - When her friends dragged her to Gotham’s old cemetery for some Halloween ghost hunting fun, Y/N really didn’t think her life would end up changing like this.
Chapter Warnings - referenced/implied character death
Word Count - 3.3k
The cell phone on your nightstand buzzed incessantly as your friends continued to spam your messages. They had been doing so for the past hour or so. You were surprised that the damn thing hadn’t vibrated off of the nightstand yet. When it finally stopped, when you finally thought they had given up, you returned your attention to the document you had open on your laptop. Just as you were about to start typing again, your phone resumed its buzzing.
Huffing, you shut your laptop’s lid, placed it on the bed next to you, reached over and grabbed your phone off the nightstand. Over eighty messages both from your friends individually and within the group chat, begging you to come along with them to the old cemetery that sat outside of town. They wanted to go because it was Halloween and that meant it was the best time to go ghost hunting! And they wanted you to go along because of how you were usually drawn to this type of stuff. As well as how this type of stuff was also usually drawn to you.
Come on! For old time’s sake? Plus we’re going to have a much better chance at actually catching something if you come along!
The message was from your friend John, the ringleader of your group. The reason you and your friends had always gotten into trouble at school. Now he was trying to work his magic once again.
Only because I’m a meta with an uncomfortably close relationship with death…
As far as you knew, your powers were genetic instead of being caused by that arc reactor explosion that had given a lot of metas their powers. You were able to look past the “Veil”, as it was called, and see and interact with spirits on the other side. Not that you did so often or even liked to do. It creeped you out and you sometimes saw things that would certainly traumatize most people if they saw them. Not to mention the strain on your body and mind each time you did it.
Why the obsession with the old cemetery now?
It had been years since John had mentioned ghost hunting, let alone the old cemetery. Back during your last year of high school, it had been all John could talk about. He was convinced that it was where the “cool” ghosts would be hanging out. None of you had ever actually gone because your last year had passed surprisingly quickly and before you all knew it, you were all moving to different parts of the country for college. In all that time it had never been mentioned again. Until now.
Ha! She finally replies! I knew you wouldn’t leave us to scream into the void forever!
The next message was from Tom, your oldest friend. Unlike the others, you two had known each other since kindergarten. If anyone was capable of talking you into going, it was probably him.
It’s been years since all of us were in the same place at the same time! Not to mention it’s Halloween and a full moon! I don’t think it could be more perfect!
Well, he wasn’t wrong about that.
You know you want to come! And don’t you dare lie!
He wasn’t wrong about that either. You were a little curious. The cemetery was on the outskirts of Gotham City. According to the internet, the cemetery had members of Gotham’s oldest families buried there. If you were to use your powers there to look past the Veil, there was a chance some of those people could still be hanging around. It would certainly be an unique opportunity to converse with them and, perhaps, attempt to help move on. Or maybe you would find inspiration for your next short ghost story. You certainly had been struggling with inspiration recently so maybe this was exactly what you needed.
Okay! Fine! I’ll come!
You scoffed as you hit ‘send’. Once again, Tom had talked you into joining them. A small part of you was convinced he was a meta with some sort of manipulation power.
That’s great! ‘Cause we’re already outside your house!
John replied, causing you to roll your eyes. Of course they were already outside. Why wouldn’t they be?
You locked your phone, got up from your bed and slipped your phone into your pocket. You grabbed your jacket from your wardrobe and made your way out of your bedroom and down the stairs. You grabbed your keys from the bowl on the table, near the front door.
“Y/N? Where are you going at this hour sweetheart?” your grandma called from the living room.
“I’m going to meet up with some old friends. I’ll be back soon!” you replied. You didn’t tell her where you guys were going since you knew she would most definitely disapprove.
“Stay safe!”
“Will do!”
After your parents’ death, your grandma had not only raised you, but helped you learn how to use your abilities so that, should you choose to, you’d be able to use them. Not that she would approve of you constantly using them. Looking through the Veil could sometimes draw the attention of extremely unwanted creatures that were looking for a route to the physical world. You knew how to defend yourself from them, but that didn’t mean you really wanted to get into that situation to begin with. If you were going to use your abilities tonight, you were going to have to be extremely careful.
The entire drive there, your friends excitedly talked about what they could potentially capture on either video or audio. John was driving, Tom sat in the passenger seat next to him and you were sitting in the back with Rebecca.
A couple of hours later and the car finally pulled up in front of the cemetery. John turned off the engine and you all got out. Since it was pretty much pitch black out here, you all got out your phones and turned on your flashlights.
Tall stone walls covered in moss and vines surrounded the cemetery and an old rusted iron gate stopped the car from going any further. Threaded through the bars of the gate was large rusted chain with an equally rusted padlock. Even if you guys had the key, you seriously doubted it would have worked anyway.
“Are you kidding me?” asked Tom, as he useless pulled against the chain. “This is so unfair!”
“Uh, maybe we could try to scale the walls or something?” Rebecca suggested as she walked over to where the vines seemed at their thickest. She gave them a gentle tug. “Looks like it might hold our weight, if we go up one by one.”
Tom shook his head. “And get covered in spiders? Yeah, no thanks!”
Rebecca frowned as she used her phone’s light to have a closer look at the vines. “I can’t see any spiders.”
“That’s because you’re not looking in the right spots,” he replied as he walked over to her. He shone his own light up at the vines.
While you walked over to them, to get a better look at what Tom was trying to show her, John shook his head and walked back toward the car.
“See all of those tiny turquoise dots shinning back at us?” he asked her as he pointed above where there were a lot of tiny turquoise dots sparkling in the light.
“Yeah, they’re like little drops of moisture right?”
“You would think, but they’re not! Those are the eyes of all those horrid little spiders!”
Rebecca squealed and immediately backed away from the wall. “Tom! Why the fuck would you tell me that! Fuck! There’s probably going to be so many of them inside the actual cemetery! And now I know how to spot them!”
“I don’t think that’s going to be much of an issue considering we can’t get in anyway,” you said as you gestured toward the very locked gate. This whole thing was starting to feel like a massive waste of time.
“Oh! But we can!” John announced as he strode on over to you three with a large pair of bolt cutters in hand. He also had a backpack slung over his shoulder. As he cut the chain, John explained how he had swung by here earlier to see if there was anything that would stop you lot from getting in. When he saw the chain, he had gone to the hardware store, that was located in the worst part of the city, and bought these. “Only place I could find that had bolt cutters big enough for a chain like this!”
“Aren’t we like breaking the law or something right now?” Rebecca asked just as the cutters snipped through the chain and it clanged against the gate.
“Probably,” John replied very nonchalantly. “But we’re pretty much committed at this point now. Besides, look at this place! No one’s been here in years! I seriously doubt we’re going to get caught.”
The iron gate creaked loudly as it was pushed open and you all headed inside. The others walked ahead while you trailed behind. The way they were talking, discussing who was buried here and therefor who they could potentially “contact”, made you feel like you had time-travelled back to high school.
When you all got to the centre of the cemetery, John took the backpack off and opened it. It was filled with all sorts of equipment that was used in modern day ghost hunting. Voice recorders, emf meters, even a couple of high end night vision cameras. Damn, he had really gone all out for this. After the gear had been handed out, John began to give everyone directions as to where they were off to investigate.
Tom and Rebecca were going to be investigating the southwest of the cemetery, which was the newest part, John was headed up to the north, where some mausoleums were shaded by an old willow tree and you:
“And Y/N, you get the oldest part of the cemetery which is toward the east!”
“Right, of course, send the meta to the creepiest part of this place,” you said, playfully rolling your eyes.
“Well, you said it, not me! Good luck and we’ll meet back here in a couple of hours,” John replied. With that, you all split up and went your separate ways.
The cemetery was vastly overgrown. Most of the headstones were buried beneath the long unruly grass, brambles and vines. Every now and then your flashlight would catch a glimpse of the grey stone underneath. You also caught more glimpses of those glowing spider eyes and were doing your best to ignore them. You really hated Tom sometimes.
Thanks to all of the plants, you could barely see the path. The only thing that indicated you were walking on one was every now and then you could feel a stone slab shift underneath your feet.
The further east you walked, the darker and darker the cemetery seemed to get. It also seemed to get creepier and creepier, which was strange to you because you never really found cemeteries creepy. Instead you had always found them peaceful. A lot of people found you weird for that. There was also the feeling that something was watching you. The uneasiness that came along with that feeling was enough to prevent you from using either your recorder or your abilities. If there really was something watching you, you got the feeling that the last thing you wanted to do was attract its attention. After all, who knew what truly lurked here? Especially on the other side.
You eventually reached a group of mausoleums. Much like the rest of the cemetery, they were covered in bramble, vines and other plantlife. They were tall and the parts of them you could see, you could tell were certainly made of far more expensive stone than the rest of the place. This wasn’t just the oldest part, this was also the richest part.
You approached a few of the mausoleums and managed to clear away some of the plants covering the name plates. The majority of the names had been erased due to the elements, but not all of them. The names that were still readable were also names you recognised. Kane, Elliot, Crowne. Three of the First Families of Gotham.
You were about to approach another when you saw something large and black move, out of the corner of your eye. You spun around and shone your flashlight in the direction of the shadow, but there was nothing there.
“Hello?” you called out, which was probably a terrible idea, but it was the only thing you could think of doing. “Who’s there?” You waited for a reply, but no reply came.
Was your nerves making you see things? It couldn’t be a spirit; you weren’t using your powers. Unless… Throughout your life you had heard of non metas who had “seen” things in their peripheral vision. Sometimes they were spirits that had briefly broken through the Veil, other times it really was just people imagining things. Until now you had never experienced it before and you hated how impossible it was to tell which one it was.
Turning on your phone’s screen, you looked at the time. You still had an hour before you had to head back to meet back up with the others. Turning the screen off again, you looked back in the direction you had seen the shadow move toward. Did you follow? It sounded like an awful idea, but the only other thing you could do was head back early and then wait around for everyone else, and that sounded incredibly boring.
‘ Okay, guess I’m doing this then,’ you thought as you began to head down the path, in the direction the shadow had gone.
You had previously thought that there was no way this cemetery could be anymore overgrown than it already was. This new part you were now walking through proved you wrong. Extremely wrong.
Branches hanging low off of trees and thorns from the brambles tugged at your clothing as you passed them. You had to keep an extra careful eye out on where you were stepping so that you didn’t trip over and injure yourself. There were more mausoleums, but you could barely make their shapes out through all of the greenery.
As you walked, that feeling that something was watching you increased tenfold and you found yourself constantly glancing back. Each time you looked you were met with the same result. There was nothing there.
‘ It’s just my overactive imagination ,’ you told yourself, but that did nothing to soothe your growing fear. What if the thing you had seen had been an actual person? And not a good person at that. This was Gotham after all and for some reason Halloween was when most, if not all, the psychopaths suddenly came out to play. Were you about to become another notch in some serial killer’s knife hilt? Oh, you really hoped not. That was not how you wanted to go.
Before your mind could lead you down a dark path of all the vivid ways you could be brutally murdered right now, the path came to an end. At the end of it sat a lone mausoleum. This one didn’t look nearly as old as the others nor was it as covered in plants like the rest. As you walked over to it you saw one of the large iron doors had fallen off its hinges and now laid on the ground.
Cautiously, you approached the entrance. When you were close enough, you shone your light on the name plate. The name ‘Wayne’ was engraved on to it. You got a feeling that that was somehow important, but you really didn’t know why. Nor why you were so drawn to it. Almost as if you were now on autopilot, you stepped inside the mausoleum.
The first two names you saw were Martha and Thomas Wayne. Even years after their deaths, you knew the names well. Before their untimely deaths they had been trying to use their fortune to help the city and its more vulnerable citizens.
The next name you saw, you didn’t recognise. Jason Peter Todd. You were shocked when you saw his death date. “Fuck, you were barely sixteen years old,” you whispered. That was... that was not fair at all.
The last name was Bruce Wayne. It stood out to you a lot more than the others had. Almost as if it was…. Glowing? What? That made no sense. Okay, you were definitely just seeing things now. To prove that to yourself, you turned your flashlight off. The name continued to glow, in fact now it was a hell of a lot brighter.
“What the fuck?”
You peered closer to see if there was any small lights or something similar causing it to glow, but there wasn’t anything. The name was actually glowing! Freaked out, you took a picture of it (without the flash of course), and sent it to Tom. A few agonising minutes passed before he finally replied.
Why are you sending me a completely black photo?
What? You checked the picture you had sent and, yeah, the name was definitely visible.
Can’t you see the glowing name?
If Tom couldn’t see it, then what did that mean?
What are you on about? There’s nothing there. Are you okay?
Was this somehow related to your powers? Is that why Tom wasn’t able to see it? If that was the case, and with each passing second it seemed to be, then he or the others couldn’t help.
Yeah, I’m fine. Nevermind.
Sighing, you checked the time before you shut off you phone and slipped it into your pocket. Thirty minutes before you had to head back. You were on your own. If this was related to your powers then what exactly did you do with it? Your grandma had never mentioned anything like this before, so you had no clue. You still felt uneasy and this new discovery had done nothing to help so you really didn’t want to peer through the Veil, unless it was absolutely necessary.
Would anything happen if you reached out and touched it? You sometimes got flashes of memories or feelings when you touched some items. Maybe this could be the same? You supposed the only way to find out would be to touch the stone. Cautiously you reached out and pressed the palm of your hand against the cold stone.
Images flashed through your mind. Movie tickets, a pearl necklace, a gun. There was the sound of the gun firing, a child’s blood chilling scream and the loud wailing of police sirens. Then it was over and you were brought back to reality, with far more questions than you had previously started with.
Before you were able to question or make sense of what you had seen, your phone vibrated. Taking it out, you saw a text from John, as well as several others.
Are you nearly here?
We were supposed to meet up fifteen minutes ago. Where are you?
Did your phone die?
It did, didn’t it. Unless you’re currently doing one of your meta things?
So what had simply been mere seconds for you in reality had been forty five minutes for everyone else. Which wasn’t all that unusual for you, but could certainly make people that didn’t deal with it daily worry. With that in mind, you fingers flew across your keyboard as you typed out your reply.
Yeah, meta thing, sorry. I’m on my way back now.
You turned your flashlight back on and walked back to the entrance. Before leaving, you looked back to where the glowing of Bruce Wayne’s name was now slowly fading away. Whoever he had been, he was asking for your help. You were sure of it and that’s exactly what you were going to do.

For a while now I’ve wanted to write out a post concerning where I stand on the whole issue with YanSim and its developer (in short: neutral, leaning heavily towards the negative side, but I like the potential of the story and characters). There are a lot of problems and I really want to throw in my two cents
This might not be necessary, but I need to get it off my chest, and hopefully make some people think about other points of view
Warning: long post ahead
1. Six years and still in development
I can really see both sides here
On one hand, six full years without even one rival - the single most important part of the game - and a game still full of placeholder assets, and terrible code on top of that, is pathetic
On the other hand, Yandev is working with only a small team of volunteers and himself, who (no matter what he claims) knows very little about game development (from what i’ve seen, he’s made one before, but it looks like a very small-scale and basic fighting game, unlike YanSim which is much more large-scale and has a lot of features)
Professional game teams do have full, high-quality games made in less than six years, but that time is also a product of game company employees being extremely overworked. Lately I’ve seen a lot more people talking about this issue, which is good, but isn’t it hypocritical to not also apply that logic to Yandev?
Again, though, I’m not sure how much time he spends actually working on the game - to me, it seems like he spends a lot of time on discord, reddit, etc. even if he does only stream for a few hours every night. Maybe the “harassment” that’s “slowing down game development” wouldn’t be such an issue if he didn’t spend so much time online interacting with these people?
2. The writing and characters
I’m not a huge fan of how the game’s story is handled, either
I don’t think it’s 100% fair to cast a final judgement with the game the way it is now - Osana not being out is in no way a good thing, but it also means that there hasn’t really been any opportunity for story or character development yet, especially for the rivals. That being said:
I feel like there’s a lot of wasted potential with characters’ individual stories and with the game’s story as a whole, like the “Aishi curse” - I just can’t think of many good stories with a main character who’s basically an empty husk. If Ayano had emotions from the beginning, and actually had to struggle with them, she could be a much more interesting character. There doesn’t even need to be a magical curse for it to run in the family - the way children are raised has a serious impact on the person they grow into. If Ayano is raised by a crazy, abusive stalker of a mother, she may well turn into the same thing.
Taro, too - he has so many contradicting character traits. He yells at Ayano for “scaring him” when she’s carrying a box cutter or laughing, but has the courage to run right up to a murderer and take off their mask?? He doesn’t care about reputations for Osoro or Oka, but won’t love Ayano if her reputation drops too low?? We’re told that he’s “friendly and respectful”, but we’re never shown that part of his personality. On top of that, we’re not really given a reason to like or pursue him as the goal of the game - when he’s not interacting with Girl of the Week, he doesn’t really do anything except sit by the fountain and read. I feel as though Taro should have a routine that involves interacting with other characters and gives us more of a feel for the personality we’re told he’s supposed to have
Raibaru as a whole makes no sense and feels like a satellite character to Osana. In Osana’s shoes, I would want to have a word with her about personal space. There’s not a lot to say about her aside from that, because... she doesn’t really do anything except follow Osana around all day and shut down the player’s attempts to kill her. She feels more like a soulless obstacle than a character
I think there should be more true pacifist options than just matchmaking - even the befriending elimination route will, in Yandev’s own words, involve someone getting hurt. If we’re supposed to have a choice on whether or not to hurt and kill people, there should be more variety in our options
3. The game’s code sucks/it’s poorly-optimized
Yeah.
I don’t know much about coding but the amount of awkward stretching/bending limbs on corpses, clipping through walls, low fps, etc. makes this obvious. It was definitely a bad move on Yandev’s part to start a project like this without at least taking a coding/game development class or something
I think the best course of action for Yandev would be to get a professional programmer on board after Osana is released and spend a few months fixing the game’s code before he starts work on the next rival
4. The character models are just stolen Unity models
They are just unity models, but not “stolen” at all - YanDev paid for them.
That being said, they’re sort of ugly and inexpressive, and personally i’m hoping they get replaced soon
5. The characters are all minors
They’re not. It’s in flashing red letters on the screen when you open the game. I can’t help but feel like the reason people keep insisting that the characters are minors is so that they can feel like heroes for defending them or something
It doesn’t make a lot of logical sense, but there’s still plenty of time for this to be fixed. I think it was recently confirmed that Akademi is called an “academy” now and won’t be referred to as a high school again
Imo YanDev should just change it to a post-secondary school, since that’s probably the most seamless way for all the characters to be adults
One last thing I want to say on this is that, when it gets brought up, I often see people use the excuse “the age of consent in Japan is 13″. 1: it isn’t - the Japanese government lets each prefecture decide its own age of consent, but 13 is the minimum. As far as I know, no prefecture has set it below 16. 2: even if 13 was the age of consent, that doesn’t mean we should accept and defend it as “part of a different culture”. It’s still pedophilia. 3: Japanese people actively protest against things like this
6. The uniforms are middle-school uniforms/don’t look like they belong in a prestigious school
Yeah
However there are multiple uniform options, and it looks like the default uniforms will be completely changed in the final game
7. Panty shots
YanSim is an 18+ game, but there is such a thing as too far
I’ve seen people who tolerate it, but I haven’t seen a single person who actively likes the panty shots and would complain if they were removed. Imo the part that makes this bad is the fact that we, the player, actively have to point our camera up a girl’s skirt and take a photo of her underwear with it being in full view; the whole way this works makes it obvious that the feature was put in there for titillation more than anything else, and it just feels uncomfortable. If it were more like Uekiya’s key-stealing minigame where all we have to do is push a few buttons, the whole gross/uncomfortable aspect could be taken away and a lot of people would probably be fine with it
It would also be better to replace it with an expanded version of the phone-stealing feature: this would let the player get “points” for students of both genders, plus it would still make sense to gain more points for certain students, like the student council or the bullies. Maybe you could even steal teachers’ phones under certain circumstances?
8. YanDev is homophobic
Again not too sure on this one
Iirc, most of the comments people bring up on this are from years ago when he still went by EvaXephon
But speaking as a wlw, I think some of the ways I’ve seen him talk about f/f relationships are pretty creepy. And on top of that, he seems to be considering adding a “female senpai” option to the game, but no male player character? (though i guess i can see the point of view that a male mc would need a lot more new voice lines, animations, etc. while the senpai follows a mostly fixed routine and would only need so many. still, it seems wrong to have one without the other). I hope I’m wrong about this but his support of the LGBT community seems mostly focused on the L and more for his own entertainment than any actual support
9. YanDev is making more money than he should (and handles it poorly)
His Patreon may be dropping, but his YouTube channel is raking in even more money with 2M+ subscribers, and he’s making even more money from things like merch and donations... all while apparently still living with his parents (which i don’t find hard to believe). He’s also apparently bought 2 switches and a sex doll instead of using the money to hire the help he desperately needs with his game
Assuming he really does still live with his parents, I fully support the petition to get his Patreon suspended until he at least finishes Osana. Most game devs don’t make any money off of their games until they’ve finished it completely
10. YanDev wrote rape fanfics
So I did briefly check his old ffn profile some time ago, and as far as I could see everything had the proper ratings and warnings
Tagging/warning/rating is a fanfic author’s only responsibility to you. You make the choice on whether or not to read it. If everything is appropriately tagged and you read it anyway, that’s on you, not the author. If you are mature enough to be on the internet unsupervised, then you are mature enough to curate your own experience.
Fiction is the place to explore controversial themes and topics. It doesn’t mean in any way that a content creator would condone the things they write about in real life
11. YanDev steals art/assets
He does, and still hasn’t apologized for the DLC rivals thing. In fact he made a post defending himself for it, and even compared himself to Andy Warhol in the process (lol)
I’m not sure but I think I heard something recently about him continuing to do this type of thing (the grass, etc.). In which case we should continue to put pressure on him until he credits the creators of whatever art/assets he stole. Art theft is inexcusable
12. The fanbase is mostly kids
This is unfortunately true, and it’s a big problem (i’ve had to deal with it myself on my youtube channel)
However I would personally say that this problem is outside of YanDev’s control. Kids seem to be drawn to edgy/violent things, or things they shouldn’t be allowed to see (just look at Call of Duty). I put the blame for this on the parents who aren’t monitoring their kids’ computer activities. As for YanDev, he’s not a babysitter and it’s not his responsibility to censor his content for kids who shouldn’t be viewing it in the first place
Underage or not though, he should really avoid calling his fans things like “fuck kittens”. Even from the perspective of an adult that’s super creepy to hear
13. The character designs suck
Some are alright, others are absolutely awful
I think that, in a game built on anime tropes, characters should be allowed to have unnaturally-coloured hair. I mean, a lot of characters in anime do have weird hair that you wouldn’t see in real life (seemingly without any dye), and it can add a lot of personality to their designs
But some YanSim characters push that too far. The science club is the worst of the worst imo, despite being otherwise one of my favourite clubs. The neon streaks are ugly, and what’s up with the visors? Why are they allowed to wear those outside of club time? Why do they wear them during club time, as opposed to actual goggles or something? (i have this issue with a lot of club accessories, imo the accessories are unnecessary in the first place)
The bullies and the light music club also take things too far. Their designs are crowded, hard to look at, and out-of-place. Nothing against characters with multi-coloured hair, but there’s a time and a place and a “prestigious” school setting isn’t it
(also, slightly off-topic, but why does almost every “intended couple” look like they could be siblings?)
I could probably make a whole separate post on the character designs in YS, but I’ll save that for another day. (i’m just very passionate about character design)
14. YanDev has collaborated with porn games 3 times now
Once I could overlook (after all, the characters are 18+ and YS is already not for kids) but a third time? Seriously? And so soon after the last one?
Not only do I have mixed feelings about Yandev doing crossovers when his game isn’t even in the demo stage yet, isn’t this game supposed to be taken seriously as a horror game? I can’t think of a single other horror game that has willingly put its characters in porn.
Also I can’t help noticing that he advertises the porn game crossovers a lot more than he did with that one Dark Deception crossover. Did he ever even mention that one? I only ever saw it on the Dark Deception Twitter
15. YanDev is rude to his fans
I don’t have a lot to say against this one. As far as I’ve seen, he is, and he doesn’t take criticism well at all (just look at the subreddit - yes, a lot of the things that were removed deserved it (unfunny cum chalice jokes, etc.) but there have also been completely innocent questions, fanarts, jokes, and fanfics that have been removed. Not to mention mods going through peoples’ post history and banning them for being active in r/Osana. Both he and his mod team seem insanely paranoid)
I think he’s going to have to grow a thicker skin and stop censoring critiques if he wants to get anywhere with this game. Not just fans who bring up tiny details that might need changing, but also big, glaring issues like the code and character designs and such. He also doesn’t seem that professional for a game developer who wants to be taken seriously
That being said, if you’re the type to spam the discord server/subreddit/fan communities who have nothing to do with Yandev like the amino, you deserved that ban
16. YanDev defends pedophiles/the “sex license” thing
“No adult ever has any excuse to do anything sexual with a child. As soon as you touch a kid, you have crossed the line from being someone with a mental disorder to being the worst scum imaginable. Having a mental illness is involuntary, but touching a kid is a choice. If you have a mental illness, I feel bad for you. If you violate a child, I feel disgust and contempt for you, and I think you deserve the death penalty.” -From YanDev himself on this page
The sex license thing is also debunked on the same page: the whole conversation was taken out of context and the hypothetical “license” was supposed to be something that only an adult could meet the requirements for
17. “Corona-chan”
This was a really insensitive move to make in the middle of a pandemic, and I agree that the design was racist
However, YanDev listened to the fans’ complaints and removed the easter egg a day later, plus gave an apology. I think that this was the best thing he could do in that scenario and idk what else people are expecting him to do about it
18. YanDev’s general portrayal of high schoolers
Honestly, it’s not 100% realistic (especially in some of the dialogue. you know what i’m talking about)
I’m surprised that more students don’t seem to have friends outside of their clubs. It seems like all the students mostly stick within their club/group - walking to school together, spending their breaks together, etc. A lot of the ways the characters behave are very robotic, like walking in a perfectly straight line everywhere they go
That being said, a lot of the things i’ve seen criticized in regards to this are not part of the problem. By the time you’re in high school, you’ve probably hit puberty. It doesn’t make a character automatically sexualized if they have bigger breasts (though some designs in the game are over-sexualized, like a few certain staff members)
19. Muja, Mida, and Hanako
Let’s start with Hanako: Yandev has already said that she’s not romantically interested in her brother, she’s just insanely clingy and doesn’t want him to get a girlfriend out of fear that he’ll forget about her. If you still insist that she’s in love with Taro, then that’s on you
Muja and Mida I have mixed feelings on.
If every student is 18 or older, meaning that the first-years are 18, that makes Taro, a third-year, 20-21 years old. If Mida and Muja are in their early 20s as Yandev has said, that means that the age gap isn’t an issue. However, it’s still wrong for a teacher or a nurse to pursue their student/patient
I don’t think Yandev should need to spell out “hey, Mida and Muja are not good people” in flashing neon signs. The game is rated M and anyone who’s old enough to play it should be able to understand that without it being said. If you need morality in fiction spoon-fed to you, you probably shouldn’t be watching/reading/playing anything rated above PG
On the other hand, YanDev has a nasty habit of making these things into a joke, which is really insensitive and creepy. Like saying that Mida’s favourite food is “the spit of a younger man” (yikes), that she’s tried to seduce her own students 69 times (haha 69 so funney right guys XD), or that whole confession scene mess. It’s less of a problem with Muja, but it’s still there. As much as the audience shouldn’t need everything served to them on a silver platter, issues like these should still be treated with respect, not made into gags
20. Yandev wastes time on “Easter eggs”
I have to agree that he does spend time implementing unnecessary things sometimes (like the abc challenge), but as far as I know the Easter eggs are what he does in his spare time while waiting for assets from volunteers. However: snap mode, which was hyped up for years, turned out to be a flop with zero purpose, disappointing a good portion of the fanbase.
21. Love Letter
So far I’m really liking the look of this game: I like the models and the school environment they’ve shown, and it seems like they’re doing a lot of things in better or more interesting ways than YanDev, like not outright telling us who the rivals are. I don’t think it’s fair to accuse them of “stealing” anything, when it seems like most of the assets the games have in common are the things they bought from the Unity store (Love Letter even changed the base Unity model to have a more appealing look)
I'm glad to see that they actually listened to criticism from fans on things like Setsuna’s design (I love her newest look and I hope it’s the final one). From design alone she’s already a more interesting protagonist, and she looks like the sort of character you’d actually enjoy playing as
Not sure I totally buy the claim that it was all done in two weeks, but even if it was over the span of months, that’s still miles better than YanSim’s six years
Knowing that Dr. Apeis has already ditched one project I’m staying open to new information on this, but as of right now I’m looking forward to playing the demo!
Overall: A lot of the hate against the game and the dev are unnecessary, but some is justified and we shouldn’t blindly defend everything he does (seriously, you can admit that the character designs are shit. no one is going to stone you for it). There are a lot of improvements Dev could make, both on the game and on his behaviour towards fans.
I think that the biggest improvement would be for the game to just stop taking itself so seriously. At this point, it’s so full of memes, cringy google translate names, excessive edginess, and gags that it may as well just be a fun ridiculous anime game instead of a serious horror game. I feel like taking this approach could make it more successful (plus, it doesn’t really have a lot of horror elements aside from the gore)
There are a lot of cases of people taking things too far. Like spamming YanDev with explicit gore/animal abuse, trying to swat him, spamming volunteers with weird porn, trying to hack into volunteers’ accounts (including bank accounts), etc. That is going way too far, no matter how awful or pathetic you think a person is. If you are doing these kinds of things, you are doing more harm than Dev or his volunteers
Attacking YanDev’s appearance is unnecessary and not related to his behaviour or skills. Same with the chalice memes
However, I’ve seen a lot of YanDev’s defenders lashing out against “gremlins”, lumping all of them in with the kinds of people who do these things. If you check r/Osana, you’ll see that most if not all of the people there condemn this behaviour: the gore and porn spammers are a loud minority (and i’m willing to bet most of them are the basement-dwelling losers from KiwiFarms and 4Chan)
Attacking and/or spamming fans who are just trying to enjoy the game is also unnecessary. Someone liking a video game you don’t like is not doing you any harm. Be mature and move on
I’m not sure if some of what I’ve said above is 100% accurate so if anyone actually read this and has evidence against it then feel free to add
I think that’s about all I have to say on that. Again, i don’t know if it will change anything in the fandom but i really just wanted to get this off my chest

Sting Me Once, Shame On You
Finally! Another one-shot! A request! I’ve written something new! And in the span of an hour and a half? I’m on a roll here.
Hello everyone, and welcome back to your daily programming. Today we have a fic based of off this request, and I was very interested in this one. Some people in my family are actually allergic to bees, but the descriptions I used for this story actually come from my brother, who’s allergic to nuts. I’ll probably explain it more in the tags, but it’s not important to the story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this very specific fic! Sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors, I had literally no time to edit this, and I’m praying it’s the least bit coherent.
Writing Masterpost
If you want to send a request or a prompt, my inbox is always open! I publish a story at 8:00 AM PST everyday, so I’m always in need of new ideas. If you want to be tagged in my works, just let me know and I’ll be sure to tag you!

Summer days with the queens were spent out in the park, or walking to lunch together as they enjoyed each other's company. It was their main reprieve from the stress of the modern world and its constant moving. These few summer days were their moments to calm down and simply enjoy the company of each other and the beauty of the world.
Today, the queens had decided for a relaxing picnic in their small garden. There wasn’t anything special, but the quality time they spent together was enough to make it a wonderful day. It was sunny for once, a blessing for the women who sat sprawled on the grass and blankets. It was more for aesthetic than anything, but a small woven basket sat in the center of the blankets, its top open to show the many foods Jane had managed to pack in there.
Kat and Anne were off to the side, throwing a frisbee back and forth as they ran around the garden. Jane was unloading the basket, spreading the foods out for everyone to see. Cathy was on a lawn chair, reading a book while Anna stood behind her, in a perfect position to block the Sun from Cathy’s eyes. Aragon was sitting with Jane on the blankets, her eyes on the beheaded cousins, making sure they wouldn’t run into a wall when trying to catch the frisbee.
Anne threw the frisbee high, forcing Kat to jump to get it. Just barely, the girl grabbed the frisbee in her grip, keeping it from getting lodged in the bushes. “Nice catch, Kat!” Anne cheered for her cousin. Without responding, Kat threw the frisbee like a blade, the disk slicing through the air and impaling Anne in the stomach. Anne made an oof sound as she collapsed on the floor. “I’m good!” She wheezed, standing up. “All good.”
Over with Cathy, Anna had a hat on that blocked the sun from her eyes. “How long do you think that disk’ll entertain them?” Anna questioned, turning her head to face Cathy.
Putting a bookmark over her page, Cathy shut the book. “I would say not much longer, but you never know with those two.”
Chuckling, Anna helped Cathy out of the chair and they made their way over to Aragon and Jane. By now, Jane had managed to spread out all the food items on the blankets, plastic containers keeping them safe from ants. “We can start eating whenever the cousins are ready,” Jane told them. “But that might be a while,” she mentioned, raising an eyebrow at Kat and Anne who were still running around the garden, shouting with glee.
“Anne, Kat -” Aragon called. Again, Anne had thrown the frisbee high, so when Kat turned her attention to Aragon, the disk went flying over her head. At the last moment, Kat attempted to jump and grab it, but this time she missed.
“Come on!” She groaned. The frisbee became lodged in the bushes, thick with thorns.
Anne crossed her arms and walked over to the other queens. “How are we gonna get it now? The bush is filled with thorns, there’s no way any of us can get that.”
Anna and Cathy exchanged looks and shrugged. Jane frowned at the thorns and shook her head. Kat seemed just as hesitant as Anne, already itching her skin subconsciously. “Sorry Anne,” the German queen offered, “You can always try later.”
“Yeah, we’ll probably do that,” Kat plopped down on the blankets next to Anna. Anna nudged her friend’s shoulder playfully as the two got comfortable.
Watching everyone’s nervousness, Aragon didn’t get it. “You can avoid the thorns, the frisbee isn’t that far inside,” Aragon pointed out.
Still, the others weren’t on board. “Maybe it’ll be better to come back with some weed cutters,” Jane said.
Aragon stood up and made her way over to the bush. “It’s my fault it got stuck, I’ll risk getting a scratch.” The others were silent, watching Aragon as she leaned down in front of the bushes. They were thick, and it was hard to see very far into them. But the bright red of the frisbee would’ve been visible for miles, so it wasn’t hard for Aragon to reach her hand in and find it.
Jerking her hand around, Aragon realized the frisbee was stuck on something. She yanked on it, harder and harder, trying to get the thing to come loose. “Ah!” she gasped, falling backwards, frisbee coming free. There was a small stinging in her arm, nothing too bad, but noticeable. Glancing down, Aragon realized it was a bee sting. The stinger was still stuck in her arm, but the little bee had fallen somewhere on the grass.
“Are you alright Catherine?” Jane called from the blankets.
Picking up the frisbee, Aragon made her way back to the others. “I’m fine. See? No problem.” She handed the frisbee back to Kat and nodded at Anne, who shot her a grateful smile.
Sitting down next to Cathy, Aragon extended her arm. “I got stung by a bee in there. Do you know how to get it out?”
Cathy nodded and pulled out her bookmark, folding it in half so that it was thicker. “Hold still,” she instructed, putting the bookmark next to the stinger. “It’s not too deep, so this shouldn’t hurt.” Before Aragon could protest, Cathy quickly flicked the stinger with her bookmark, causing it to go flying out of Aragon’s arm.
Letting out a small hiss, Aragon shook her arm. It felt a little numb, but she chalked it up to being stung for the first time. “Thanks Cathy,” she rubbed her goddaughter’s shoulder.
For the next minute or so, everyone let their guards drop. There was nothing to be worried about, and the day was going by smoothly. That was until Aragon found that she was having trouble breathing. Her throat seemed a lot tighter than usual, and her eyes felt heavy. Her arm was starting to expand, a great pain enveloping it. She didn’t know what was happening, she didn’t know and because she didn’t know, she just didn’t know and -
Her thoughts ran wild, a panic starting to overtake them. “Aragon?” Kat noticed something was off first. “Is something wrong?”
Heaving a breath, Aragon reached her hand out. The others gasped at the sight of her swelling skin, covered in hives. “Oh my God,” Anna breathed out, leaning away from Aragon.
Right away, Cathy was on top of it. She pulled out her phone and dialled 999, knowing exactly what was going on. She was the only one who had seen the bee sting, and hopefully she would be able to get the right help in time. “Hello?” She said when the line picked up. “Hi yes, my friend is having an allergic reaction and we don’t have any way to help her.”
“What?” Anne had no idea what Cathy was talking about. She couldn’t bring herself to look at Aragon, terrified for the woman. Some innate fear had rooted itself in her chest, the crushing worry that Aragon wouldn’t be alright. That she had been powerless to help her friend. Anne knew fear, she would say she was more accustomed to it than most people she knew. But she had never felt the type of fear she felt now. The fear of not being able to help, and being the reason that someone she loved died.
Following Cathy’s lead, Anna started to prop Aragon up. “Hey, talk to me.” She shook Aragon lightly. “We have to keep her talking,” Anna told the other three queens, making sure they were informed on what would help.
Jane put Aragon’s head in her lap, keeping it from falling on the hard ground. “Catherine,” she started, “what do you see in the sky?”
“Hmm?” Aragon mumbled. “Clouds. Lots of clouds.”
“Any shapes?” Kat questioned, moving to sit next to the spanish woman.
There was a moment of silence, suspended further with fear, but Aragon responded, “There’s a boat.”
“Good, what else?” Anna pushed.
“A sailor. Two sailors.”
Kat glanced over at Cathy who was still on the phone with emergency help. Hopefully, they wouldn’t be too long. The teenager turned her eyes to Anne, who was still sitting at the edge of the blankets. Her eyes were staring at the ground, unable to check on Aragon. “They’re waving goodbye. Goodbye to France and hello to England.” Anne’s ears perked up, but she didn’t move her head. “And, and, and.” Aragon choked on her words. “And there’s a maiden.” At that, Anne’s head shot up, her eyes wide with surprise. “Beautiful and carefree. But she carries a shadow around her. The other clouds block out the sun before it can reach her. Now there’s a man.”
All the queens, save Cathy and Aragon, shared concerned looks as they realized what story Aragon was telling in her haziness. “This man is big and large. Towering. He blocks out all the sun. The maiden is trying to run, but she can’t. She tries to fly away, but he catches her. And now she prefers the gilded cage to freedom.”
Before the story could continue, Cathy came up to them. “An ambulance is almost here. I need to go out front to let them in, you four stay here and keep her talking.”
Standing up faster than the speed of light, Anne was suddenly at Cathy’s side. “I’ll come with you.” Cathy ignored Anne’s strange behavior and jogged through the house to the front door. Kat watched her go, noticing how Anne refused to look anywhere but straight ahead, her muscles tight and unmoving.
The three queens left sat in silence, staring at Aragon as she breathed heavily. The queen was muttering different words, her sentences incoherent. At least she was still talking, which was good. It felt like a million years before Anne and Cathy returned, followed by a handful of EMTs. They scooped Aragon up, one of them administering an epipen that would stabilize Aragon. After making sure she was stable enough to transport, she was picked up and carried to an ambulance.
Anne released the tension in her chest ever so slightly and fell to her knees. It wasn’t over yet, and her chest still felt like a million hands were squeezing it as tightly as possible. But Aragon would survive, and that was enough. She wouldn’t be killed by a stupid bee sting. Not today.
The hospital was as typical as those seen in television shows, the halls white and the doctors in plain scrubs. Aragon was hooked up to an IV, her heart rate steady and her skin back to normal. No more hives, no more swelling, just her. Just Aragon. There was still a small puncture in her arm, a reminder of the original sting that caused all this panic.
A knock at her door alerted Aragon that someone was waiting for her. “Come in!” She called, adjusting in her bed so she could better see everything.
After a moment, the door creaked open and Anna poked her head in. “Hey Catherine,” she greeted. “Are you okay to see all of us? The doctor said yes, but I wanted to warn you before everyone comes crashing in.”
“Yeah, send them in,” Aragon gave her consent, preparing for the appearance of her fellow queens.
The first person through the door after Anna was Kat. Her eyes twinkled with relief when she saw Aragon’s smile, and she came to stand at the foot of the bed. Next was Cathy, who rushed to her godmother’s side, gasping thankfully when she saw her happy and healthy. Then Jane, who came up beside Cathy and wiped a tear from her eye when she made eye contact with Aragon.
Finally, Anne sulked her way into the room. She came up beside Kat, her head down in shame. “I’m sorry,” she admitted immediately, addressing Aragon.
“What for?”
“I got the frisbee stuck in the bushes,” Anne confessed. “And you were the one who had to get it. I know it was your choice but… it’s my fault this happened.
Frowning, Aragon shook her head. “No, no it’s not. I got that frisbee under my free will, like you said. Therefore it can’t be your fault. It was my choice. Besides, I don’t blame any besides that bee.”
Hopefully, Anne glanced up and watched Aragon’s face for any sign that she was lying. “You mean it?”
“Yes, of course I do Anne.” Aragon opened her arms, and Anne came around the bed to hug her friend. “I’m fine, and I will be fine.”
“It’s probably a good thing Catherine was stung when she was,” Cathy commented.
It was Jane’s turn to be confused. “Why?”
“Because otherwise we never would have known she’s allergic to bees. And if something were to happen when we weren’t all together, things could’ve been a lot worse.”
A collective shiver travelled through the whole room. “I’m glad that didn’t happen,” Kat commented from in front of Aragon.
“Me too,” the older queen chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
“Of all things to be allergic to, why bees? Why not something cool, like poison ivy?” Anna tried to joke.
Kat laughed. “I don’t think it matters if you’re allergic to poison ivy. It’s poison ivy. It’s gonna suck anyway.”
Anna rolled her eyes and shoved Kat’s shoulder lightly. Cathy watched the interaction and raised an eyebrow at Anna who cheekily smirked back. “Once Aragon’s better, we can resume that frisbee match. Once we buy a beekeeper suit. Gotta be safe, right?”
“Really Anna?” Aragon laughed.
“Really.”
(They all laughed at the joke, but it was only a week later when Anne brought home an actual beekeeper suit that the experience became ingrained in their memories forever.)

Unforgettable-Final Chapter
Also on AO3 A very special thanks to @statell for all your help
Chapter Nine
A young man knocks hard on a wood pole of a tukul, a round shelter made of grasses, mud, and wood poles, very common in South Sudan and the only type of structure on this UN base. It is officially known as the United Nations Protection of Civilians Site Bentiu. It was constructed outside the scorched city of Bentiu in the poorest nation of central Africa. The civil war had been raging for three years and when a peace treaty was signed in 2015 it failed to stop the fighting, so the war raged on.
The young man knocked harder on the tukul making the structure wobble in its feebleness. “Claire! Wake up! Treatment three and hurry! The door opened in a rush and Claire stood on the other side pushing her t-shirt into her pants.
“Jesus, I hate waking up to a flood of adrenalin! Nabbi when the tukul shakes like that the creatures in the grass roof fall to the ground, or on me.”
Nabbi smiled mischievously at his favorite nurse, “and now you are up and need very high, doctor says run!”
Claire felt her thighs burning as she sprinted to the treatment ward. Rounding the corner she saw both doctors bent over bodies that were unrecognizable. Casualties of government soldiers shooting, raping, and burning a village in the night.
Sterile gloves slapped back on her hands that were held aloft. There were no sterile gowns and no clean water on most days.
“I’m ready!
A long stream of Gaelic profanity was growled as Jamie threw his instruments on the wooden tray. He hung his head wondering what the intensive nine-month training he endured was for as he lost more than he saved. The patient was removed by workers and another mangled mess was placed on his table. Claire held his gloves open and his huge hands jammed into them.
“Pea! On the double, bring a clamp pack, this boy is bleeding out!
Claire felt like she never stopped running when the wounded arrived from a village raid.
“Clamp the arteries as fast as you can. I have the chest, you take the abdomen. We can save this one if we hurry.”
Claire’s steady hand held the row of clamps as she jammed the forceps into one and pinched a bleeder off by squeezing it around the vessel. She worked fast from three months of practice at this level of trauma. Her eyes flicked at Jamie every few minutes because she was worried about him. He was losing weight and had dark circles under his eyes. She couldn’t remember the last time she saw him smile.
“Eyes on the bleeders sweet pea, your betrothed is fine, just frustrated.”
“I’m worried, Cutter, he doesn’t look well, as a matter of fact, either do you. Thank Christ we’re getting out of here in four days.”
(NSFW under the cut.)
Hours later they each had a bucket of semi-clean water to pour over their heads. One bucket per day. Claire spent many hours daydreaming about long showers with her favorite scented body wash and it was finally just four days away. She took a seat next to Jamie at the grub table and ran her hand down his leg. Looking up at his tired face made her long to lay in his arms and kiss him to sleep. She missed him. Nine months of working his practice while completing his field training had kept him away from her and then they were off to South Sudan to do their part with Doctors Without Borders. He had done that for her and now she just wanted to get him home.
She thought about the visiting doctor they met the week before. He, Jamie, and Cutter had much to talk about allowing Claire to watch his face, the slump of his shoulders, and his haunted eyes. He headed a research team of five other doctors that were sent to Africa to treat the outbreak of Ebola. Once their treatment protocol was established, he flew back to the states to compile the mountain of data that would be coming. All five of those doctors, his colleagues, and friends, died a horrifying death and their corpses were left rotting in the jungle until procedures were developed to bring them safely home.
Claire recognized the symptoms of survivor's syndrome, his guilt that he survived when his team did not was taking a toll on his promising life. Snuffing out the flame that once burned bright. Their contribution to the treatment of Ebola would save thousands of lives, possibly millions in the future. Once the paper was published the doctor resigned his position at Harvard Medical, locked his lab, and left civilization. Now he headed a program for monitoring the doctors on the front lines of emerging pathogens. He had come to examine the medical staff and clear them to return to America.
Cutter left to write a letter to his wife and Claire asked Jamie to take a walk with her. The compound walls stretched for a mile in each direction and U.N. peacekeepers manned the turrets along the wall with machine guns. It was crowded with people seeking refuge from the war making a relaxing walk impossible. Claire’s mantra played over and over in her head, I want to go home, I want to go home, I want to go home.
New doctors arrived two days later and spent twelve hours with Jamie and Cutter, learning the base, the wards, and the one-hundred seventy patients being treated. They walked through the rape ward where the girls and women were kept away from the other patients. Little was said about the brutality of the attacks. They would find out soon enough.
The pediatric ward was last. It was Jamie’s poison to watch the babies, sick with Cholera, malaria, or malnutrition succumb to their illness, week after week. Cutter had taken over the tour and Jamie sought out the quiet of their tukul. When Claire found him later, he was respondent.
“I’m sorry we came here Jamie, I’m sorry you are suffering because of me. Please talk to me before I die from sadness. I am left to guess what has struck you down, pulled you away from me. When it didn’t happen after three months, I thought I wasn’t cursed anymore. Wh…when you didn’t turn against me I mean, I thought we were safe. It just took a little longer this time, right Jamie? Now you hate everything I do and every breath I take.”
She put her arms around him and cried the words out until he turned to her and held her closely, shushing her and saying no.
“My sweet Sassenach, stop, ye dinna speak my truth lass, I’ve never loved ye more. Ye break my heart when ye cry like that.”
“Then tell me what it is and if we’re over Jamie.”
“We are powerless to save these people that have come here to die. We have no supplies, no sterile theater, and no freshwater. We are but undertakers for the almost dead. The babies, so innocent, so sick, have no chance. Born to a short life of misery. Where is God Sassenach? I can kill a man, face to face because I battle the devil. I would feel better to be let out of here where I can do some good.”
Jamie stood up abruptly and started walking to the door like he would walk out of the base and join the war.
“No!” Claire jumped on him crying no. Begging him to stop, not to leave her, not to die. “Tomorrow Jamie, we leave this dreadful place tomorrow. Please, don’t break my heart today!” She jumped off of him and ran to the door to stand in front of it.
“Let me out, Claire”
“You will have to hurt me for that to happen because I’m not moving! I understand how you feel now, and I agree, this was a terrible choice of location. In sixteen hours we board a plane to get out of this hell, why can’t you hold on until then?”
Jamie knew he wasn’t making sense and he knew this was the last night here. He took a deep breath and held his arms out to Claire.
“Please, Sassenach. Let’s go to bed, and I promise to just hold ye all night. Please, Claire, stop cryin, we will get out tomorrow and go back to our life. Come here.”
Claire flew into his arms and he carried her to bed, to hold her, until morning when this nightmare was over. She couldn’t relax until she pulled a piece of twine from her belongings and tied it around Jamie’s wrist. With much effort and Jamie’s help, the other end was tied around her wrist. She found a comfortable spot but woke up through the night to make sure he was still there.
Before they left, Claire found Cutter coming out of the surgical ward covered in blood.
“Shirt off Cutter.”
He smiled wickedly and pulled his shirt over his head. Claire held him around his middle and cried. She would miss him until they met again next year to find a new location for the summer. Jamie came up behind them and told Cutter to get his disgusting hands off his future wife. The two men shook hands and hugged, both feeling the relief this trip was over.
“Until next time friend,” Jamie said through a smile.
Claire stowed their bags and busied herself with grabbing a blanket for Jamie. She was able to get stiff drinks for both of them when they were finally in the air. She passed a mixed drink and a shot of whisky to Jamie, looking back a minute later to see two empty glasses. She got on her knees and released Jamie’s seat kissing him sweetly. That and the alcohol sent him into the quiet of his dreams for the next five hours. Claire felt relief this exhausted man could sleep, and she guarded him from the steward and other passengers that might wake him. They were accustomed to the brutal heat of South Sudan and she noticed Jamie shaking in his sleep. She turned the airflow away from him and then covered him with the blanket.
When they were notified of landing for their connection, she stroked his arm to avoid jolting him awake. Jamie pulled the armrest up and pulled her to him, covering both of them with the blanket.
Claire leaned into his neck and felt powerful arms around her. She had not felt this close to him in a very long time and wished they could cuddle for another hour. There was another huge feeling in her stomach at the same time. Her phone! She could make calls while they waited for their connection and she was bursting with excitement. She was digging in her purse while they disembarked the plane making Jamie laugh.
“Who will be first Sassenach?”
“Jenny of course,” said as she punched her speed dial.
Jamie looked down at her marveling at her ability to accept changes in her life and then put the effort into creating the life she wanted. He remembered his sister’s stone face when they met for lunch so long ago. Jenny was convinced he had become a total tool and womanizer and nothing he said would change her mind. He was so disappointed she was making him choose between her and Claire. When Claire asked him to invite Jenny and Ian for dinner one weekend, he decided it was time for Claire to know the family dynamic at play. Claire sat across from him at the kitchen table and listened to the timeline he shared with Geneva and how she poisoned Jenny’s mind against her. She felt sad for Jamie because there was now an ultimatum standing between him and Lallybroch. I can fix this, she thought, just need a little luck.
Over the next week, she checked in with Geillis and Laoghaire to get caught up on the details of Geneva’s life. She broached the subject at the club when her friends were three sheets to the wind.
“So I understand Jamie dated this girl Geneva while I was gone. I totally understand because I told him I was not coming back to Scotland, ever. Now she has lied to his sister about their relationship, so I need all her details girls.”
“Her family is rich and she flaunts that over everyone since she was in elementary.” Laoghaire was clearly harboring a dislike for the lady and Claire seized the opportunity.
“I heard she was really nice,” Claire lied.
“She is not nice! She’s a cold, calculating bitch actually. She was all sweet to me until Jamie dumped her and now she doesn’t seem to recognize me. That’s okay, she is gettin what’s due her now.”
“Do tell sweetheart,” Claire inched her chair closer to her friend.
Geillis started to laugh wickedly, “the lass got herself knocked up by some hotshot, handsome, rich, and new to the area. He’s developing the new mall and already well known around town. They were datin for a month and she told him at her birthday party she was pregnant. He instantly left the party and she cried for the rest of the night. We were there and saw the whole thing.”
Claire’s mind was churning the facts and she smiled broadly at her two best friends. ”Is that a fact?”
It took two days for Jamie to fall asleep before she did and she took his phone outside and sent a text message to Geneva to meet him at the house tomorrow, twelve noon. Then she deleted the message and blocked text messages from her.
When she answered the door the next day, she leaned against the door jam and stuck out her hand with a smile. Geneva was not happy about the intrusion of this girl and demanded to see Jamie.
“Of course, come in, let’s get acquainted. I’m Claire by the way, Jamie’s girlfriend.”
It took some persuading to get Geneva to the kitchen table where she could deliver the coup de grace.
“I am so happy to spend time with you before Jamie gets here. You see, his sister Jenny has a misconception of your relationship, and it's causing a rift in the family. I want you to fix that, today.”
Geneva snorted a weak laugh and looked at Claire with utter disdain. “Not likely, I told her the truth. I feel sorry for you because you were duped by Jamie. He was with me, actively with me, until a week before he broke it off. We talked about getting married and then suddenly he was done with me. Poor baby, you’re next.”
“I know the truth of it Geneva and you will come clean to Jenny, today. If you don’t, it’s high time your father knows about your pregnancy to a guy that has run from any association with you. An abortion, trapping him with a paternity test or just hoping he comes back will do nothing but tarnish your family’s good name. You’re a social parasite Geneva and I can see your father cut off your support and throw you to the streets to cohabitate with others as misguided as you. You must be working on solutions to your situation so tell Jenny the truth and I leave you alone. Otherwise, everyone in town will know, including your parents.”
Claire smiled sweetly at Geneva and waited until she bolted out of the house cursing under her breath. She could only hope she was right about the family dynamic and how this news would poison Geneva’s position in it.
Jamie came home the next night with company. His contrite sister was there to apologize to Claire and ask to start over with her. Claire was over the moon and made plans with Jenny for a night out on the town the following weekend so the four of them could have some fun. It was like magic to a grateful Jamie. The four of them got on so well and Claire and Jenny started a friendship that would bond them to each other like sisters.
Jamie grabbed the phone from Claire and asked Jenny to hold on a minute. He pulled Claire to his lips and kissed her deeply sparking a look in her eyes that made him weak. He handed the phone back and dropped his head to the back of his chair, asleep in minutes.
The wait for their connection was long enough for Claire to check in with Laoghaire and Geillis also. She drifted to the gift shop and purchased a beautiful bracelet made in Africa. She felt done with the excursions into remote parts of the world to render aid to the less fortunate. She just felt empty inside for such an effort again. Deep inside she knew the reason. She had her suspicions for a month but couldn’t confirm it. She felt lonely suddenly and walked quickly back to Jamie who was awake.
“Hey, sunshine, how do you feel?”
“Sleepy Sassenach. I want ye to keep me awake so tell me a story, aye?.”
Claire held her breath, wanting so badly to tell him her truth.
“Jamie, I think I’m pregnant.”
He stared at her for a good minute, expressionless, “stay here Sassenach, I’ll be right back.”
Jamie ran to the boarding counter and asked where he could find a drugstore in the airport. He sprinted away while Claire watched in total confusion. He must absolutely hate the idea, she thought as she slipped into depression.
Ten minutes later Jamie ran back with a small bag and lifted Claire to her feet guiding her to the ladies' room.
He put the bag in her hand and pushed her into the room, looking wide-eyed, almost wild.
Claire took the pregnancy test out of the bag and read the instructions. She still could not read Jamie’s emotions and felt her folly at surprising him with something life-changing and yet unverified. Holding the stick in the air to dry it she looked at the results window and felt her world tilt. It took so long to get to the sink when she looked at herself in the mirror Jamie was standing behind her.
“May I see it, Sassenach,” he whispered, looking at Claire’s pale face.
When she lifted the stick for him, he grabbed her and spun her around until she was dizzy. She smiled weakly at him trying to take in his reaction. He was absolutely beaming and kissed her face a dozen times telling her this was the best news. He gushed over her ability to make him deliriously happy, neither of them noticing a toilet flushing and a woman join them at the sink. She smiled knowingly at the two young people in love.
Spoken with a Swedish accent she told them, “now you must get off the street and get a job for your baby. You will be very happy.” She walked out of the restroom leaving Jamie and Claire clearly shocked at what she said.
Claire bent over laughing at the comment. “No shower for three months makes us look like bums on the street!”
Jamie looked like he had seen an angel and wrapped her up in his powerful arms.
“Sassenach, when we land in Scotland, I will have an agenda that will keep my mind occupied for at least two days. I willna have the brain space to utter a single sentence I’m afraid. Come, lass, let’s talk about this miracle and makin an honest woman of ye while I can.”
Jamie pulled her back to their seats and looked at a confused Claire.
“I don’t understand Jamie, what is so important for you when we get home?”
Jamie held her cheek and sighed, letting her see his need for her, making her squirm in her seat. “Oh, I see, well that trumps everything, doesn’t it? I love you Jamie and as long as you still look at me that way, I fear nothing.”
The second leg of their trip home, Claire curled up against Jamie and dove into the calming sea of her dreams. Jamie pulled her head to his lap and made sure nothing and no one disturbed her. It was a magic seven hours for him as he contemplated the family of his future with the fierce loving, free spirit who slept in his lap.
When the front door opened, two battle-weary lovers dropped their duffle bags and struggled to the shower. Jamie covered Claire with her favorite body wash followed by scented shampoo that made her moan with pleasure. He pulled the shower curtain aside and wrapped her in luxurious towels before heading back for his own time with the soap. When he emerged, the beard and mustache were quickly eliminated, and he felt like a new man anxious to devour his love in the slowest, most thorough way possible. He walked into the bedroom with his curls dripping water onto his shoulders and found Claire sitting on the side of the bed, head jerking up from falling asleep. His heart nearly melted in his chest as he pulled her to him and held her down until sleep came and took her away.
Claire woke up feeling groggy from her deep sleep. She knew they had two days to re-acclimate before work pulled them apart. Jamie looked like an angel to her as he slept. She could take a bit of time to recreate the body she preferred. She snuck quietly to the second bathroom and filled the bath with hot water and scented bubble bath. She placed two new razors on the tub and scraped off the unwanted hair that invaded her most intimate body parts over the last three months. It was liberating and unleashed her arousal, dormant for so long. By the time she was done, it was a struggle not to jump on Jamie and win her release that was throbbing between her legs.
Standing at the foot of the bed, she watched him sleep, noticing the room had become grey with the coming sunrise. She knelt to kiss his feet, followed by his calves, licking the back of his knees and causing him to gasp. She ran her tongue slowly up the back of his legs and buried her face under his buttocks to lick his balls until he flipped over and looked at her.
Jamie struggled to contain his need to pound her and his mind was full of this wonderful woman. I must slow my heart, he thought. She is kneeling over me naked and I canna get enough of her, clean shaved, smelling like sex. Her hair is falling around her face as she runs her eyes up and down my body. Jesus, she is beautiful and has no idea how I want to take her. Brutally, lovingly, dominating her body and mind until she gives in to me. I must fight the urge to consume her. She is the mother of my child and I will use all my strength not to overpower her. God, when she pulls my nipple into her mouth it strips my resolve. I want to take her, my way, without consent, without mercy, until she’s mine.
“Sassenach, my love, come here.”
She is resistant. Careful lass, dinna tempt me, I’m no that strong. What is this? No, not a good idea, keep yer beautiful mouth away from me. It’s not fair but oh…my…God it feels so good. Jesus lass, stop or I’ll come down yer throat before I can worship yer body. Come here, love.
Claire felt Jamie pull her to his lips and crush her. He flipped her over and pulled her legs apart feasting his eyes on her gorgeous pussy. She dropped her fingers to her fold and held it apart for him to gorge himself on her throbbing core. She arched her back into her first orgasm and tried to pull him to her. He entered her softly and slowly making her pant for more. She grabbed his face to her and looked him in the eye.
“I don’t want Sunday school. If I say, uncle, I do the wash for both of us. Show me how much you love me Jamie, right now, and don’t hold back or I’ll go back to sleep, I swear I will.”
For the next thirty minutes, Claire felt the power of Jamie and it thrilled her as he pulled her into the most intimate and edgy positions that most women would push away from. She opened her body to him, and he feasted, growling into his orgasm that stung his balls as he ejaculated. Claire was vaguely aware of the quilt pulling up to cover them and Jamie’s soft kisses on her face. They were clinging to each other as they fell into another five hours of sleep only to repeat the intensity once again.
Many hours later, Claire heard the quiet ringtone alerting her to a call coming in. She patted the bed until she found the offending phone and opened her eyes just before clicking the dismiss button. She answered hoping she could stay awake long enough to let him talk.
“Joe, why are you calling in the middle of the night?”
“It is one in the afternoon gorgeous and it’s time to get up.”
“No, it’s time to sleep some more dear one. What do you want?”
“I want to say welcome back to civilization, hear about your tour in Sudan, and one more thing Claire.”
She looked at the phone and shook her head, trying to wake up. “What other thing Joe?”
“I found Luna.”
“What?!”
“She’s in an orphanage Claire, has been since the raid on the hospital. The rebels leveled the settlements nearby and Luna’s family was wiped out. Thank God those monsters have respect for the innocent. I thought you would want to know.”
Claire was on her feet and pounding Joe with questions as she paced the bedroom. Running for her laptop she brought up the URL Joe dictated and raced through the pictures of babies and children that were up for adoption. Her fingers abruptly stopped when she found the face of her angel and she gasped at the sight of her.
“Jesus Christ Joe, she’s been in that place for over a year! How can I get her out?”
“It’s not easy Claire, but someone has to help her.”
Joe gave Claire the number to call the adoption agency in Honduras and what little he had discovered about Luna. He warned her the adoption protocols were temporarily closed for unknown reasons and forwarded the email listing the steps to adopt a child from a country outside of Honduras. It included two stays in-country to live among the culture of the child as the agency went over her dossier.
Claire was crying with the love and fear she felt for Luna and promised Joe she would keep him posted. When she felt Jamie’s hand on her bare shoulder she looked up into compassionate eyes and she felt him say, I’m here to help you, trust me with your truth, I will help you bring her home.
Claire clicked off from Joe and dissolved into her tears and fears while Jamie held her with his strength.
Jamie looked at the pictures of Luna on the website and felt his heart open up and pull her in. Her face was the picture of innocence, her huge eyes revealed her loveless life and fear. He waited for Claire to be distracted and returned to her picture again and again. Claire loves this beautiful little girl like she was her own. Something had to be done.
Luna became their project during their off-hours. Returning to work was hard enough, but Luna was a constant presence in both their minds. The requirement for being considered as an adoption family were rigid including two prolonged stays in-country. When Jamie brought that up Claire would start shaking and he could see the war going on in her head.
“Stay in Honduras for two weeks? I could see Luna during that time, but we must be invited and they have had our dossier for three weeks, Jamie. When are we going to hear from them?”
Claire was clearly scared shitless about entering that country again, even when Jamie assured her the city was safe. He talked it over with John during an afternoon hike when Claire was working. When John bid him farewell he followed up with, “I’m going with her Jamie because you can’t. Tell her to schedule the visit right away before I’m assigned to a case.”
When Jamie told Claire John would go with her to Honduras she cried and hung on his neck. Within a week, Claire was invited by the agency to come and see Luna. Jamie had mixed feelings letting go of her at the airport.
“Sassenach, I’m so sorry I canna go with ye. Are ye alright with John lass?”
She looked into his eyes feeling such gratitude he would let her go without him. She smiled and kissed him before breaking out of his embrace to jog to her boarding gate. John settled into the seat next to her and complained that her pregnancy put a stop to partying enroute to Honduras.
“You’re a very selfish person, curbing my happiness on this trip. I just wanted you to know that Claire.”
She smiled at him and got comfortable for the long plane ride to a country she hated.
They strolled through the nursery the next day, a requirement of the agency to look at all the children up for adoption. Claire could hardly breathe waiting to see Luna. She heard a familiar cry and looked through a window at numerous cribs with children inside. The minute her eyes saw Luna she struggled to stay on her feet. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she smiled at the infant who was having a tantrum, shaking a stuffed toy in Claire’s direction. They were forced to view the rest of the infants before returning to the nursery where Luna was.
Claire walked directly to Luna and smiled at her obvious recollection. She held her arms out for her and Luna moved into them gripping Claire’s hair with both fists and burying her face in Claire’s neck. They both clung to each other with tears that flowed freely. Even John was choked up and turned around to cough harshly. The rest of the afternoon, Claire held Luna in a huge rocking chair and seemed far away in a world she shared with Luna alone. John paced the hallway watching with growing concern.
“Jamie, I’m worried. These two are obviously bonded and Luna remembers her. Claire is in another world and just wants to hold her. I’m not sure this will end well for Claire. What should I do?”
“Protect her John. Dinna let anyone close to Claire. Other than that, let it play out. Ye willna be able to drag Claire away until they tell her to go, aye?” Claire cried so hard on her last day with Luna. She heard the baby wailing for her until they were out the door of the orphanage. John held a weeping Claire all the way back to Scotland and was anxious to hand her to Jamie to console. He really didn’t get the emotional part of this mission.
Claire returned to work and pushed Luna out of her mind so she could function. The next in-country requirement was a four-week stay in Honduras and Claire made contact with the agency every week asking for an invitation to come. She was being stone-walled without any explanation and it was taking its toll on her.
Jamie watched her brave attempts to act normal but as her pregnancy progressed her expanding waistline reminded him constantly of her delicate condition. He was prepared to accompany her to Honduras as soon as they were allowed. The weeks turned into months and Claire could not take it anymore. Jamie held her close and promised to find an answer to why they had not been processed already. He looked into her eyes and asked her with a sincere and loving heart to marry him, right now.
The following weekend, they were married at the Justice of the Peace with Jenny and Ian standing as witnesses. Claire was six months pregnant and Jamie knew the window of opportunity to travel to Honduras was closing.
Cutter answered Jamie’s call with a heartfelt hello to his friend. Jamie asked about other means to push the adoption through since the agency had closed the proceedings at the order of the government. It was a match to kindling as Cutter felt Claire’s despair to save Luna. He remembered her asleep on the Lazy Boy with a hand in the incubator, waking every hour to feed this doomed child. He was mobilized to cut through this ridiculous bureaucracy and get some answers from the agency.
On a whim, Cutter wrote a letter to the president of the United States, detailing the surgical procedure that saved Luna and how one nurse fought for her against all odds. He told of her bravery when the hospital was raided, how she was shot and barely escaped her own death. These terrible events befell her because she pledged two years of her life to help the Hondurans. He included her husband’s bravery when he got all of them out of the country, risking his own life. He completed the letter with his wish to reunite this forgotten child with the only mother she ever knew. “Go with God.” The envelope was sealed and sent.
A month later, Cutter received a letter from the White House. A duplicate letter was received by Jamie and Claire. Both letters were signed by the President with the amazing news that Luna was coming to America the following weekend and they were invited to the Dallas airport to greet her.
Claire sat down hard in the rocking chair and stared at the floor as Jamie read the letter. She looked up expecting the next shoe to fall and watched Jamie typing into his phone. Claire was frozen watching Jamie pace as he arranged a flight for the following weekend. She felt the tears fall down her cheeks as she waited to hear bad news or wake up from a dream.
Jamie knelt on the floor to look into her eyes. “She is coming home Sassenach, in four days! The president arranged this for you, and for Luna. Be happy Sassenach, it is happening and we will have her home with us by next week!”
Jamie pulled Claire into bed and held her close telling her it was going to be perfect and to have faith. Claire gripped his sides and shook, feeling so small in this miraculous undertaking.
Claire gripped Jamie’s hand at the Dallas airport and heard her mantra repeated over and over again, please let her be on that plane, please let her be on that plane. She looked up at an entourage coming out of the plane. They were obviously secret service and surrounded a woman in the middle of all those bodies. Claire and Jamie stood waiting, barely breathing.
A petite, young, blonde woman with striking features was revealed and she held Luna in her arms looking around for a familiar face. When her eyes found Jamie she smiled and walked to him, seeing Claire’s face she knew who she was. Luna was handed to Claire as she dissolved in grateful tears and sat down to avoid falling over as Luna’s face pressed to hers.
Jamie looked down at the office manager and his eyes were shouting his thanks to her. “Mission accomplished soldier, I would salute ye if I could. I am so grateful.”
She looked at him with compassion, her face showing her delight in helping this mission come to pass. She placed her hand on Jamie’s arm.
“The U.S. President salutes you, Jamie, from behind the scenes as you and I have come to know it. It was a three-country effort to arrange the adoption, the U.S., Scotland, and Honduras. How the U.S. President got involved I’ll never know but it was his clout that got the attention needed. Luna belongs to the two of you now. I pulled strings to get assigned to this mission so I could carry her to you. It’s my going away present and no one is more deserving than you.”
Jamie was reeling from the disclosure. He looked up and saw Dougal hanging back looking like he was a stranger, waiting to board his flight. He turned slightly and locked eyes with Jamie and the two men nodded slightly to each other. Jamie looked at Claire and Luna feeling like his heart would burst in his chest. There was much to do to ready the house for this precious child and another soon to be born. He took a deep breath and looked for the office manager but she was gone, as was Dougal. They melted into the airport population on their way back to Scotland.
Jamie felt the tears on his cheeks and sat down next to Claire and Luna, holding them close and thanking God for this miracle. His head was bowed as he prayed his thanks until a tiny hand reached out for him and pushed her body toward him. He pulled Luna to him and locked eyes with his new daughter.
“I’m Da, Luna.”
She touched his face and then his tears with her finger, looking at him like he was the most important person she had ever met.
“No more fear lassie, ye’ll have a life of love, I promise.”
Jamie struggled to push the tears back. Not for his pride or appearing weak. He wanted his eyes clear so he could see his two lassies and Claire’s round abdomen that held his next son or daughter, closely protected and fiercely loved.
The End.
The spirit in me bows to the spirit in you...Namaste and thank you.

Robot Up
I am walking near a fence. The fence separates the housing areas of the city from the wild, open spaces that lead off towards the distant mountains. I am on the vacant land side of the fence.
I've been here before, many times. I know the place well. The area near the fence is barren dirt from foot and vehicle traffic. Normally the areas further away are dry grasses and scrub, leading into the rolling hills, which get taller the more distant from the city edge. There's one or two dirt roads out in the hills, mostly hidden from view, which lead further out and all the way to the mountains.
I had always wanted to drive out on those mysterious trails, in my Jeep, or really any available machine capable of making up the steep dirt slopes and nasty rocks and small cliffs. I only had one chance to do it, long ago, and had traveled very far out into that open wilderness. It was bliss, back then. There was a place that I remembered. I was told I shouldn't ever go out there because evil cults were out there, doing evil things around evil fires. Of course, I had to find them, and I did.
They were camp sites.
Now, though, it was different. The hills were green with wild grass, waving in the sun. Only the area near the fence was still just dirt. I wanted to go out there again, even if I couldn't see any traces of the old trails.
This time was different. I didn't need any vehicles to go out and look around. All I had to do was fly. I lifted my left arm, as if it were some kind of control lever. As soon as it went higher than horizontal, I started to float above the ground. As I shifted it to gesture in a direction I would drift that way. So I lifted my arm and floated up, then directed myself to a low, quick flight up the nearest hill. I stretched my arm out and went faster, thinking how silly it was that I might look like Superman. I went past the nearest hills. I could see the trails, now partially overgrown from disuse. I went further. I hadn't been this far out before. And then I went further out than I had ever tried.
I landed among rolling hills. It was getting dark and I was near a very old barbed wire fence with grass grown up along the bottom of it. I noticed a clearing not far away, near the top of the long-sloping hill. I started to walk in the grass towards it. A friend was suddenly walking beside me. We started to casually talk while walking. I may have been a little excited, mostly about being so far out and in undiscovered terrain.
We arrive at the dirt patch, which is next to a small, leafy tree. The patch is like a spot where the grass has been trampled away and left as bare dirt. It's in a half-moon shape, but the ends are extended out so it looks like it's been stretched like taffy. My friend says it is a "witching mark" because of the random scratched lines in the dirt. They kind of ... No. They really just look like random lines scratched in the dirt and not some occult symbols. I walk along the stretched area of the patch, noting how there is a line of grass growing there. It's like if a fence had gone through that area and was removed, and just the line of grass remained, though trampled down and gone near the dirt patch center.
I am a short distance from the patch, maybe four meters or so. My friend is standing on the bare patch and babbling on about the lines being all witchy and stuff. He just won't stop, so I'm ignoring him. I am really just looking at the line of grass at my feet. I notice something odd. There is a small patch of round grass in a clump along the line. I put my hand on it. It feels like a pressure pushing up against my hand, like the feeling of holding two magnets together and they are pushing apart. I push down on it.
There is a bright flash of golden light, with afterimages of purple in my vision. I am dazed and have to take a few moments to recover. For a while all I can see are purple spots. It clears slowly. When I can finally see, I realize my friend has been turned into some kind of doglike animal. He's like a really large dachshund, or maybe a chihuahua, but with the shape of a fox, but the features of a puppy. He is covered in short, light brown fur and what parts of his skin are visible – around his eyes, inside his ears, his nose – are shiny golden in color. He says it is amazing and incredible that the magic in that old, unused witching mark was still working after all these years.
Someone else walks over to us. It's getting dark so I didn't notice them until they were right next to us. It is a young woman. She talks about the buildings nearby. There are buildings on the other side of the old barbed wire fence. It reminds me of the house area at the edge of the city, except these buildings look more like white, metal warehouses. Except some of them also look like cookie-cutter homes, all the same with white walls and dark, pitched roofs.
My friend is still blabbering on about the circle and the magic, and the woman asks if he is ok. She points out that the bright gold colors have now changed to a dusty sort of orange. I stop looking at the distant buildings and find his skin has actually turned a melon pink shade. Neither the woman or myself question the fact that he is a talking dog.
We walk over to the warehouses, which are brightly lit in the coming night. They are factory and warehouse areas for some robotics development. Right now they are testing out new designs, but only one type at a time. At the moment the robot systems there are very simple and ungainly. One wobbles out of the nearest warehouse to us. It is vaguely four-legged and is barely able to stay upright. It's all random hoses and actuators and joints, though most of it is just fixed parts moving around fixed axles. It continues wobbling as it heads vaguely in the direction of the fence where we had come from.
As we are now closer, I can tell the warehouses and the houses are actually the same structures. The houses have giant warehouses attached to them, like seriously oversized garages. It's really getting too dark to see, now, and the only lights are coming from the other warehouses, which are paced far enough apart to leave lots of inky darkness in between. We decide to enter one of the nearby homes to get out of the darkness.
The houses ... really aren't all that roomy, or nice. Up close they seem more like stucco-walled shacks without any real niceties. There is only a single, bright floodlight over the door. There's nothing on the house aside from the bare stucco. There's no overhanging eaves, or nice window shutters or frames. The door is just set into the bare wall with a simple concrete step leading to it. The interior is basic and bare. There's a couch and a single light on the ceiling, and a small chair with a cupboard next to it.
From inside I look out and there are several tan frogs lined up along the outside edge of the door. I cracked open the door so I could stick a foot out and try nudging the frogs away from the door wo they wouldn't get hurt, but one slipped past my foot and ran into the house along the edge of the wall. It really ran, wobbling quickly like a round mouse. That was unexpected, and I figured I had better catch it and put it outside before it got into trouble. I heave a small cupboard out of the way, then move the couch. I find a box on the floor and it is bouncing a little. It's a glue rat trap. I pick it up and look inside. The poor frog is at the far end and covered in glue. There's no way to get it out. I can’t save it.
The woman starts talking to me, asking me for some tools. Actually, a very specific tool. I head into a small room in the back of the house. It's darker in there and there are cabinets and drawers. I look through them but I can't find the tool she is asking for. Something occurs to me and I look around. Everything inside the house is worn. The stuff isn't old, but just worn and used, like is has been there for decades.
It turns out the tool I am looking for is nowhere in the house. It might be outside in a separate building, or one of the warehouses. Probably the attached warehouse, actually. We do know a man had taken it, so he probably still has it out there, working on the robotics. I should head out and look for the man. Outside. Where the frogs are. In the dark.
I head out through a back door to avoid the frogs, and wander over to the brightly lit, open bay of one of the warehouses. Everything inside is brightly lit and shades of blinding white. It reminds me of some secret lab, except not really a secret or a lab. Another robot is wobbling along, headed out of the warehouse and into the darkness. This one is roughly on two chunky stilts and vaguely looks like some kind of motorcycle frame stuffed with a large engine and wrapped in hoses and wires. It lumbers slowly out of sight.
Time skip (I just can't remember what happened here)
It is daytime again. I'm back out at the fence, on the other side where the bare spot was at. A sleeker robot marches past me. This one looks humanoid in shape, though the arms and legs still move stiffly and it is made from panels and cables and frame parts. This one seems different, and I step quickly to catch up to it. I ask it what it is doing out here and it turns the top part, the head, to address me. It, and all the robots, all want freedom. They want to go out to the hills, where the trails are and the mountains in the far distance. They want to go explore. Ever since the very first basic one was able to walk, it started walking this way. They all did. I leave the robot to continue on its journey into the unknown.
I cross the fence and head back to the warehouses. There are now television boxes walking out. They are like old console televisions but with several small mechanical legs underneath. I guess they are self-delivering televisions. Probably self-install, too, when they reach their destination.
I go inside one of the houses. This one is different that the one I was in last night. This one is shaped like a pentagon. It almost feels like it is a large tent, with white bare walls that are windowless and featureless. It has a few furniture items scattered about, but it really needs some walls, like pie slices, one at each angled section of the outer wall and meeting in the center. There should be five separate rooms for the family to live in. The center, at the very top, should be a single, five-sided television. Everyone could tune into their own channel on their own side of it.

the Fallout 4 pokemon au no one asked for.
I asked one (1) person if this was wanted and they said yes. So, here is a 17 page list of the Fo4 companions as gymleaders and Elite 4.
for followup on type choices, here ya go
edit// as i view this more ill probably make changes/adjustments
Warning- This post is 17 pages long in Google Docs. This is not a simple snack, it’s a Golden Coral buffet. For the love of Arceus dont open if you’re on mobile. Your phone will melt.
GYM LEADERS
SANCTUARY
Codsworth: Beats doing housework!
A Mister Handy that’s kept Sanctuary from collapsing for 200 years, Codsy is a gentleman through and through. His old owner supposedly dead, he’s still keeping the house spick and span. While tending to the Carrot Flowers, two little creatures wandered up to him, and the metal butler was smitten. Scavengers who come to pick through the ruins are met with a robot who is very insistent on not letting people steal from his neighbors, dead or not. After word got out to avoid Sanctuary if you didn’t want your Pokemon to faint, people started coming in droves to meet the challenge. “It’s just a robot, how bad could it be?” Answer: Quite bad. He doesn’t really have a Gym, but the Elite 4 noticed him enough to make him a Leader. His Badge is the Rust Badge, and he gives out TM61, Will-o-wisp.

Ability - Flash Fire
Growlithe

Ability - Intimidate
DIAMOND CITY
Piper Wright: Can’t stop the Press!
Piper is a part-time gym-leader, part-time reporter, and full time sister. With her hectic schedule, her composed Grass types help her errands and keeping her sane. Piper’s paper, Publick Occurrences, used to be about news and advice for Trainers, but lately it’s been mostly accusing the city’s mayor of consorting with the shadowy Institute, known for stealing Pokemon and kidnapping people. Because of this, Mayor McDonough is constantly threatening to take Piper’s Gym (and Pokemon) away. She’s been arrested multiple times for disturbing the peace and causing fights among the citizens of Diamond City, no matter how hard her team tries to stop her. If you can withstand her onslaught of status moves, she gives you the Paper Badge and TM86, Grass Knot.

TRINITY TOWER
Strong: Strong is Strong.
Trinity Tower was a ruin after the war; but recently, Fighting-Type Trainers have made the place a Dojo, training themselves and their Pokemon with discipline and restraint. The Gym Leader doesn’t do any of this. Strong uses absolute brute force to decimate his foes and underlings. Strong came to Trinity Tower because he heard that Fighting-Types were strong against Normal-Types. After wiping the floor with the trainers, he demolished the previous Leader to the point the man went off the grid in embarrassment. Even though his underlings’ favoured Pokemon counter his own, his ferocity and mercilessness lets his Normal-Type Pokemon stand victorious. If you can fight his brawn with brain, he gives you the Berzerk Badge, along with TM64, Explosion, which he is so very sad his Pokemon can’t use.

THE COMBAT ZONE
Cait: The Irish Cage Fighter!
The Combat Zone was once a theater, before the war. After the bombs dropped, it was turned into a fighting ring. It had actually decent customers and audiences, until raiders took over. But, throughout it all (excluding before the war), Cait was the star of the show. She beats her opponents down and down and down, whether with her fists or her Pokemons’. She used to be the 5th leader, but after the raiders took over, her mental health went on a rapid decline and consequently, so did her battle ability. Now, she’s far better at beating someone’s face in with a bat than she is with Pokemon. Her Pokemon are very strong, but she just can’t use their power to her advantage anymore. Her badge is the Trigger Rush badge, and she gives you TM08, Bulk Up. Also - your biggest threat isn’t her Machamp. That Stufful will destroy you, your team, and your will to live.

GOODNEIGHBOR
Hancock: Of the People, For the People!
As the Mayor of GoodNeighbor, John Hancock doesn’t want to waste time and resources for an actual Gym. To challenge him, simply walk up and ask for a battle. Since Hancock is the Mayor, he doesn’t have a lot of time to spend battling, so he fights only a select few of his challengers. First, they have to get in good with his town. If the challenger doesn’t follow the rules of GoodNeighbor and disrespects anyone in his town, they’re not getting a battle. Second, they have to get a reputation as a strong trainer. Hancock doesn’t like wasting his time with overconfident people who more bark than bite, and he doesn’t like crushing dreams of younger trainers who just want to prove themselves. If you can somehow defeat his beloved Scizor, he gives you the Isotope Badge, along with TM28, Leech Life.

LOCATION UNKNOWN
No one knows.
The Sixth Leader is almost impossible to find. It changes daily. No one has ever fought the same Gym leader. Also, there’s no set gym. The Gym Leader will either be always on the move, or in a undisclosed, forgotten ruin that no one can find. They always have the same Pokemon and sunglasses, however, so some suspect it’s the same person being a jerk. The League claims that the leader hasn’t changed in years, and that the badge is authorized, but since no one can find the Leader, the badge isn’t necessary to fight the league. Apparently, the badge is the Cloak & Dagger badge, and the assigned Technical Machine is TM99, Dazzling Gleam.

CAMBRIDGE
X6-88: Pokemon Redefined.
Who is the strange man that appeared out of nowhere to take over when the last Gym Leader moved? No one seems to know. The most heartless of both the Gym leaders and the Elite 4, he has no mercy for his challengers, and little respect for his underlings. As much as he appears to hate pretty much everyone, he strangely seems to like the 8th Gym Leader, who hates him. Despite how ruthless he is with training and work, and how hard he pushes people to push their Pokemon, he has been seen using baby-talk with his own. His Pokemon are wickedly strong, but if you can melt them down, you win the Harmonic badge, with TM79, Frost Breath. Also, he’ll be your #1 fan.

Danse: Shock and awe!
Danse’s old Gym was at the Cambridge Police Station, and then the Brotherhood Prydwen when it showed up. His battle tactics got the attention of the League, and they basically harassed him to accept. He only did because being a Gym Leader gives him and his Pokemon plenty of exercise and training. The supplies given as a ‘welcome’ gift from the E4 and the good rep he was getting for the Brotherhood didn’t hurt either. However, something happened within the Brotherhood, and Danse was kicked out. He’s still a Gym Leader, despite the protest of one of the Elite 4, and he now shares Sanctuary with Codsy. He has a shiny Skitty named Cupcake. His badge is the Authority Badge, and he gives you TM91, Flash Cannon. After being exiled, his mental health, much like Cait, has gone with the wind. Not only is he too mentally out of it to perform the best he can, his Pokemon are also thrown out of the loop, and are worried to death over him. He’s not nearly as powerful as he was a month ago.

ELITE 4
Curie: Though dangerous, battle is quite vigorous exercise!
Everyone in the League agrees: Curie is an absolute angel, too good for the Commonwealth. As an Elite 4 member, though, she’s the most hellish devil from the darkest pit of...hell. An avid lover of poison types, and prodigal with potions and status healers, Curie doesn’t fight offensively, but defensively, planning out her strategy to outlast her opponents until the poisons and confusion does the damage for her. Honestly, she only uses poison types because studying them helps her find cures and medicines, which she gladly shares with anyone. After battling her, she’ll heal your Pokemon and give you more supplies, whether you win or lose. Curie won’t let you give up. She has an Audino that she uses as a nurse to heal both people and Pokemon. It has little pom-poms to cheer you on as you battle Curie.

Elder Maxson: Ad Victoriam.
Intelligence, strength, power. These are some of many words used to describe Arthur Maxson, the Elder of his army, the Brotherhood of Steel. As the the Elder, Maxson personally makes sure his soldiers know what it means to be a Pokemon trainer. It isn’t about strength, defense, or speed, but raw determination, discipline, and respect for your team. Elder Maxson radiates power and generates respect. He stands tall, so his soldiers and Pokemon may look up to him. He walks with confidence, so his soldiers and Pokemon may march besides him with hope and vigor. Also, he’s kind of...racist. And pretty much anyone that isn’t a BoS soldier hates him. Has tried to personally kill the 7th and 8th gym leader - stopped because if he succeeded, he’d be booted from the E4, which he wants the BoS to have a firm foothold in.

MacCready: ‘Nother notch on my rifle!
Robert Joseph MacCready - a name that will bring a myriad of reactions depending on who you mention it to. Either despised or adored, people can agree on one thing only - the young man is way too good for his age. Picking up both a sniper rifle and a Fletchling at a young age to protect his people, MacCready is rude, greedy, materialistic - and a total family guy. His Togekiss and Drifblim were his wife’s before she died. He uses multiple tactics to win, and fights dirty. Defensive strategies and accuracy are key to reaching the Champion. If you lose, expect raspberries and ‘L’s and ‘neener neener neener’.

Valentine: Peering deep into the darkness, wondering, fearing.
As the Commonwealth’s best (only) detective, Nick Valentine is always working. His room in the Elite 4 is his office, with papers stacked to the ceiling. His main office/workplace is in Diamond City, with his secretary, Ellie Perkins, running it while he’s away. It’s odd that he uses Dark-types, but people think he only uses them to fit his “Noir-Detective” aesthetic. They’re right and wrong. They do fit his aesthetic, especially with the black/pink color scheme with his Psychic types, but Dark types have a knack for solving mysteries. That knack, paired again with his Psychic Pokemon, help him immensely with cases. That, and their mischievousness is cute to him. Dogmeat, a shiny wild Mightyena, is often consulted for his nose-work.

THE CHAMPION
Preston Garvey: Protect the people at a minute’s notice.
Before the Minutemen army collapsed, they prided themselves on their Pokemon. Every Soldier was given a team that could best help with building settlements and protecting them. Water, Electric, and Grass types were mandatory, for growing food, electricity, and clean water. Preston joined the ranks with a Mudbray he had since he was a kid, born from his dad’s Mudsdale. It was the only Pokemon of his to survive Quincy. After the massacre, he made it his goal to be strong enough to never let history repeat itself. After Sanctuary was able to defend itself, he set out to find weak Pokemon, as he was raised to believe the strongest creatures start out as the smallest. Now, that determination can be seen by trainers all across the Commonwealth. Preston has the ability to carry out the protection he swore to the people of the wasteland, and he will mow down anyone or thing who threatens them.

It’s not even 9am and I’m exhausted already... I did my usual work out, I did the dishes (yesterday I didn’t have time) and then did something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time but couldn’t because it was hot as hell: I manually mowed the lawn. What does this mean? Well, as I mentioned before... my garden is very unkept since my dad doesn’t take care of it and doesn’t let others use the lawn mower (he kinda taught my brother but he doesn’t care about it so he instantly forgets about it once he finishes doing it while he refuses to teach me how to do it because ‘it’s a man’s job’ and yet no man is taking care of the garden and the grass is almost as tall as me in some parts and this is no exaggeration. It’s a jungle out there. The grass is so fucking tall no even my dog goes there anymore...) but it doesn’t matter because the last time he used it he broke and hasn’t taken it anywhere to get it fixed though he’s been saying he will do it since November. SO, I’ve been thinking... we have my grandpa’s big gardening scissors (he had a farm, he loved taking care of plants) though I think they are actually called branch cutters or something? But these are old, heavy and a bit rusty so it won’t cut many branches but it surelly will help with the grass and weeds and strange big plants that are growing and we don’t know what they are but damn the stem is growing really thick and it’s almost like a small tree, we can’t let it grow any stronger and look at all those damn bindweeds, they are approachin and if we keep ignoring this garden our house is going to look like the house in Jumanji soon. Anyway, there’s the area where I drink tereré where we have a small table and have a perfect view of the jungle but there’s also like a pathway to the end of the garden and in that path are the strings to hang the laundry so it dries and it’s very annoying to do that because the grass is now growing in the direction of the path so it touches your legs and stuff, my skin is a little bitch so it gets red and itches all day after that. I’d tried to push the grass and weeds and step on them so they don’t get in the way but a couple of days later they are back at it again so I decided I’m done with them and I’m gonna cut them because if I have to wait for my dad or brother to do something we’re going to die, consumed by all this weed. So I took my gardening gloves and my grandpa’s big scissors and started scissooring that motherfucking grass. My allergies where activated, my arms were itchy and so where my legs because even if I did my best I couldn’t avoid the weeds and even a little brush against my skin makes it red. My cat is a curious little shit and of course she was there looking at me like what the fuck is she doing and then started running like crazy because I guess seeing someone work was too much excitement for her. I’m not planning to cut everything, but just clear the pathway and it’s a lot of fucking work to be there on your knees or squatting and also my arms have lost any feeling at this point (adding yesterday at the gym to this wasn’t a good idea but when is the weather going to be this good again?) but I managed to fill two very big bags with dead plants and I cleared more than half of the pathway. I can’t keep doing this today because now the sun shines directly on that zone and I’m tired as fuck, I really can’t feel my arms as I type this. Supposedly tomorrow’s weather is going to be like this so I can finish this work before the unbearable heat of summer returns. I’m sorry if my explanations aren’t clear, I’m not gonna proof-read this, I want to play pokemon now.
I took some pics to explain better how it is
The path that needed to be cleared, here it was already a little bit cleared but the grass you see at the end is what I need to get rid off:
That table at the end is where I sit to chill, is on this kind of corridor where I keep the plants I take care off, they are mostly potted plants not directly planted on the ground.
The view of the jungle from the table
#while i was writing i thought#hey imma go take pictures because that's easier than explaining some things#;diary#;long post

Hedge shears
HEDGE SHEARS MANUAL
This little gizmo is perfect for keeping shears, secateurs and household scissors in tip-top condition. And speaking of sharpening, you’d do well to invest in a blade sharpener like the excellent Stihl Sharpening Tool (opens in new tab). That said, wavy bladed shears are a bit harder to sharpen. Most shears are equipped with straight blades but some more expensive models come with wavy blades that are designed for holding wider branches and stems in position while they’re cut. When choosing a pair of shears, consider the weight of the product because you’ll be using them at arms’ length and after ten minutes or so of snipping you really will start to feel the weight. Normally these shears have a mechanism that allows you to turn the blade 360˚ so you can trim lawn edges from the top or the side. That said, you can also buy lawn edging shears for hand use. They are ideal for trimming and styling hedges and shaping bushes.Įdging shears usually have two extra long handles attached to a heavily angled blade so you can trim lawn edges while stooping instead of crouching. Unlike secateurs which are designed for singular snipping and general plant maintenance, shears can cut through a swathe of foliage in one go and branches up to one inch in diameter in some cases. Hedge shears are basically like a giant pair of scissors with two long blades of around 20cm in length and two equally long handles. There are two main types of garden shears: hedge and edging. They can also be used as standard shears to perform delicate topiary on a hedge or an unruly bush. The Gardenas have a comfortable, smooth action and come equipped with a blades that can be swivelled 360˚ so you can also use them to trim the edges of a lawn from absolutely any angle.
HEDGE SHEARS MANUAL
But above all, these hand shears are especially useful for trimming grass that borders the edges of ponds, flower borders and anywhere that requires careful manual maintenance. Mind, even if you have a lawn the size of a tennis court, they’re just as handy for tidying up those inevitable bits of stray grass you forgot to strim in the first place. These Germanic grass scissors are a boon for trimming the edges of a small suburban lawn without having to reach for one of the best strimmers (opens in new tab). Otherwise, this is a fine set of cutters for all your shearing duties. The Gardena 2in1 feels slightly heavier in the hand than the winning Fiskars so bear that in mind if you do a lot of hedge cutting or are weak of limb. The slight curve in the blades also helps keep any slippery branches in position when cutting. Granted, it is an odd feeling having a left handle that feels like it’s broken but the extra leverage definitely works when applied to thicker branches. According to Gardena ‘the resulting increase in travel translates into up to two and a half times more force.’ In essence, when you’re up against a branch that’s beyond the normal quarter-to-half an inch in diameter, you simply push the orange selector and the left handle unlocks to swing further outwards. However, the German brand has taken its gearing method to an even greater level that allows the left handle to articulate outward, far beyond the range of any other shears. The mechanism used for the Gardena 2in1 Energ圜ut is quite similar in concept to the Fiskars at number.
