Hi! My name is Michael Vachmiel. I have been an occultist for over 30 years. In that time, working with various magical systems has been my pleasure. One such system, the Lesser Keys of Solomon or the Goetia, is popular worldwide, not just in Ceremonial Magic. Witches, Wiccans, Luciferians, Lillians, Chaos Practitioners and so many more “Howl at the Abyss” calling on demonic ranks to work their will.

Crowley in Goetia stated that there are six principles to successful magic. Crowley referred to them as Brain Changers, or what was needed to change perception and reality. Sight. Sound. Smell. Taste. Touch. Mind. Crowley believed that the use of magic was not supernatural, but part of the natural order. That all magic was connected to the mind. When we call upon a Spirit, Deity, Or Power, we are calling upon the universe to strengthen the part of ourselves that is in need of development.

But where to start? How to Start? How does Goetia work with other systems? Let's Explore!

RANKS The 72 Demons of the Goetia are divided into 6 ranks. Each rank corresponds to one of the four Elements in traditional western magic. Each element corresponds to a traditional color. Each color then corresponds to herbs, crystals, and so forth.

Also, keep in mind there are just guidelines. Each demon is different. Each practitioner is different. If this does not feel right, then don’t use it!

Magic is a practice and Art, you actually have to do it! From doing it, you will discover what works right for your soul!

The Kings

All Kings Share the common color of Gold, and a connection to the Sun, and the Element of Fire, due to their rank. Each individual King has a correspondence based on their personality and energies. The best time to work with the Kings 9 am to Noon, and 3 PM until Sunset.

1st – King Bael – South – Element Fire

9th – King Paimon – East – Element Air

13th – King Beleth – South – Element Fire

20th – King Purson – East – Element Air

32nd – King Asmoday – East – Element Air

45th – King Vine – East – Element Air

51st – King Balam – South – Element Fire

The Colors

All King of the Goetia are tied to the Sun and as such the element of Fire. As such they may be called upon with colors associated with their rank - Red, Orange, Gold, and White. Scents such as Rosemary, Amber, Peppermint, Peppers, Dragons Blood, Cedar, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Nutmeg.

Stones, Gems, and Metals in their colors such as Copper, Garnet, Sunstone, Pyrite, Amber, Opals, Moonstone, and Labradorite are also appropriate.

A great time for working with The Kings is Fall, and a perfect offering is Pumpkin Spice.

For Kings Bael, Beleth, Balam, and Zagan whose power and correspondence is Fire alone, the above information will work well for them amazing beings.

For Kings Paimon, Purson, Asmoday, Vine, and Belial, their individual element is Air. Air is the element of Intelligence, Thought, Learning, Teaching, Information, Occult, and all matters of the mind. Corresponding to the East, Colors of Yellow, White, and Pastels will work for them. Scents of Anise, Hazel, Nutmeg, Almond, Mint, and Sage are appropriate.

Stones, Gems, and Metals that will work well with these mighty beings are Pyrite, Amber, Moonstone, Opals, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Sunstone, and Labradorite.

Did a quick revamp for Purson’s (DP OC) design because I felt he had too many elements going on with his first one. I did want to keep a few core details tho (Sphinx inspiration, Lion/bear limbs mix, wings, mask, etc). But like the green glow and white skeleton… eh, black skeleton feels a little better.

His tail is also a working eye… you see it?
