Übrigens … das Atelier Hutschneider gab es schon vor der Wende und es befand sich immer in Familienbesitz. Die Betonung liegt nicht umsonst auf dem Wort "Wende", denn Eisenach, am Nordrand des Thüringer Waldes gelegen, war vor der Wende der Landkreis im Bezirk Erfurt der DDR.

Aber zurück zu Ellen. Ellen-Susann lässt mit Atelier Hutschneider die Mode und den Reiz an längst vergangenen Zeiten in gewisser Hinsicht weiterleben, ohne verstaubt zu wirken.

Ellen ist auch keine ewig Gestrige, die der Vergangenheit nachhängt. Sie steht im Hier und Jetzt. Sie kämpft sich jeden Tag zuversichtlich und unermüdlich durch das Leben und hört dabei nicht auf, das Leben zu lieben.

Theoretical perspective of selfie and narcissism:

Narcissism is not just a single trait, but a confluence of several related qualities:

1-self-sufficiency: feeling that you can do it on your own and that you don't need others.

2-Vanity: Concern for appearance, and a propensity to admire your own physical look.

3-Leadership: Believing that you should have power over others, and being willing to exploit others if necessary.

4-Request for Admiration: Exhibitionism, feeling entitled to special status or privileges, and feeling superior to others.

Not everyone who scores high on the overall narcissism scale automatically shares all of those qualities.

Some researchers from America examined a sample of American men and studying samples of adults from Poland—both men and women, measuring narcissism and selfie-posting behavior. The results showed that overall, women posted more selfies than men did.

Thus, the researchers examined these different facets of narcissism to see which ones were most correlated with selfie-posting. They released that the existence of a significant correlation most certainly doesn’t mean that everyone who posts frequent selfies is a narcissist, it can explain only a small amount of the selfie-posting behavior that we observe on social media. Nowadays, this digital media extremely popular in today’s society and it has become a part of everyday life. Users can create their own profile and share personal information about themselves, including selfies.

Finally, I think the people who always posting-selfies are with a narcissistic personality. This related to the development of digital media and advertising as the celebrities do.

Das sind die Visitenkarten - frisch von der Druckerei.

Als nächstes entwickln wir eine Speisekarte für den Weihnachtsmarkt. Vorweg wird alles fein säuberlich gesetzt. Danach wird es vom Kunden zum Druck freigegeben und geht postwendend an die Druckerei heraus, damit es anschließend auf Alu-Dibond gedruckt werden kann ... Allerdings muss das bis Ende dieser Woche fertig sein. Kein Problem. Unsere Druckerei PrintArt, ist verdammt schnell. Nach zwei Tagen befinden sich die Plakate im Druck und am nächsten Tag sind sie bereits an uns versendet.

Update: auch die Speisekarten sind inzwischen fertig und sie sehen top aus.

HARMONY OF THE SPHERES: ASTRONOMY IN MUSIC "Harmony of the Spheres" (or "celestial spheres") traditionally refers to the philosophical concept dating back to Pythagoras. The Ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician discovered rules, whereby sounds are in harmony with each other if the lengths of strings on which they are played form simple mathematical ratios. 2:1 would be an octave, 3:2 a fifth, 4:3 a fourth etc. Philosophers thought back then that all celestial objects were affixed to crystal spheres surrounding Earth, which was located in the centre of the Universe. Each sphere was thought to emit an inaudible hum as it revolved around Earth and all of them together would create "Harmony of the Spheres".

Astronomical references in music can be found as far back as the 18th century, in pieces by the great composers Haydn and Handel, but not until the 20th century can we talk about whole works inspired by astronomy, astronomers and celestial objects. Gustav Holst wrote his very popular orchestral suite "The Planets" around 1916, although he was more inspired by their astrological meanings than astronomy. For the most literal link of astronomy with music, we turn to John Cage (1912-1992), an influential American composer of avant-garde classical music. Mid-20th century was a period in classical music when all kinds of boundaries were pushed to their logical (and often illogical) extremes. Composers experimented with non-standard ways to create and play music - often devoid of tuneful melody, familiar harmonies, regular rhythm, or even deliberate sound. John Cage took this trend to the extreme with his piece 4'33" during which the musicians remain silent for exactly 4 minutes and 33 seconds. (It's meant to make the audience listen to the ambient sounds that happen to be heard.) Around 1960, John Cage composed a few pieces of so called "aleatoric" music, in which notes are determined by chance. His 1961 piece "Atlas Eclipticalis" took its title from an atlas of stars published by the Czech astronomer Antonín Bečvář. To create the piece, Cage took pages from the atlas, like the one shown here, superimposed musical staves on the star charts and copied locations of the stars as musical notes. Cage tended to leave much interpretative freedom to performers of his music, so the piece can be played by any numbers of players at an arbitrary tempo, determined by the conductor. Atlas Eclipticalis was commissioned for a music festival in Montreal, Canada and is still occasionally performed in concert halls.
