Ahem…
Speed Round 2:
The Democrats are already planning to not certify the 2024 election… Rep. Jaime Raskin (D. MD) is already calling for riots.
They burned up Maui and huge swaths of California with overhead DEW lasers. They rioted and burned America during fake-outrage riots over the drug overdose-death of a known criminal. They brought us COVID 19. They toxified part of Ohio with a train derailment. They flooded the Appalachians with a very unlikely hurricane which has turned red, Trump supporting areas into what will likely be very non-voting zones
… and now these assholes are threatening us??!!
A reminder: politicians are actually public servants that work for us. They serve us; we do not serve them. Politicians do not tell us who we may or may not elect
… and if our politicians are telling us who we may or may not elect, it is likely due to those politicians being corrupt, Luciferian kid-touchers who are trying to hide a ton of shit from us

« We must stop trying to project ourselves on to leaders. We must resist childishly looking to elected parliamentarians as if they were our personal therapists, friends or pastors. For the political leaders, this habit, smuggled into democracies in recent years from the authoritarian mindset, means an insatiable, vampiric interest in their private lives and intimate truths that must ultimately destroy a sense of self. »
— Andrew Marr at The New Statesman.
Mr. Marr was writing in the context of the recent change of government in the UK. But the increasing desire to personally identify with politicians by some voters which he refers to is becoming endemic in most liberal democracies.
Frankly, I don't need people in government to be my bros or somebody I'd want to have a beer with. I do want them to be fair, competent, reasonably intelligent, honest, and reality-based.
In the US there is a ridiculous emphasis on choosing presidents who will save us from ourselves without us having to do anything. It's as though we were electing a superhero instead of a national CEO.
Many Americans don't bother to learn even the basics of government. Some people who voted for useless third party presidential candidates or wrote in the name of a dead gorilla in 2016 were later shocked by the reversal of Roe v. Wade which was facilitated by the election of Donald Trump and his subsequent appointment of three anti-abortion SCOTUS justices.
It's usually a plus for me if a candidate is boring and tries not to become a celebrity. That makes him or her the direct opposite of Marjorie Taylor Greene.
It's no wonder that we have such difficulty getting and keeping good people in government. Too many voters act like they are choosing or rejecting participants in a contrived reality show.
When you help elect clowns, you're gonna get clowns in office who will then behave like clowns. In turn, public confidence in government plummets.

hats off to Devon County Council for allowing people to apply for a disabled bus pass online, but for some reason then insisting that you can only renew it by post?
we are in the process of explaining to them how absurd this is, like how do they imagine a wheelchair user is getting into a photo booth for example? the online application lets you upload a digital photo and documents
okay we're laughing at this but come on
update: the squeaky wheel[chair] gets the grease - they emailed back and said we can just sent them a photo and documents via that email address

Truth Stumbles in the Public Square (Isaiah 59:9-19)
"Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing has happened." Winston Churchill
Therefore justice is far from us,    and deliverance does not reach us;we wait for light, but there is only darkness;    and for brightness, but we walk in gloom. We grope like the blind along a wall,    groping like those who have no eyes;we stumble at noon as in the twilight,    among the vigorous as though we were dead.We all growl like bears;    like doves we moan mournfully. We wait for…

The Mike Pezzullo puzzle
Let me ramble a little. My 78.7 year old brain is a little slow at times nowadays Sometimes I wonder about the Why’s of politics and political life. I remember a wise person once told me to always follow the money. So I am puzzling about where the money is when I read that ‘The secretary of the Home Affairs Department, Mike Pezzullo, is asked to step down as an investigation is conducted into…
