#Psychic Death

What I call the Teeth Mother—or Stone Mother is probably better. A mother that threatens a part of their unconscious. It is a part of their female unconscious which is threatening them with psychic death all the time. It's like a ghost that appears in the room. Some are literally in fear of their psychic lives each time they write. It's clear that experiences like that were behind many things that Kafka and Beckett wrote. But the main idea I am trying to get out is that men cannot write without their woman consciousness being present with them in the room. And if it happens that their woman consciousness is not one of the ecstatic women such as Dante's Beatrice, but instead is a death mother, like Hedda Gabler, or Hemingway's mother, then that person has a tremendous pain in solitude, tremendous anxiety all the time. Now think how painful that life is as a writer. You can't write without it, and yet it's always there. Now that's much closer to Hemingway. Hemingway in his little short story, "A Clean Well-Lighted Place," talks about how much he wants to stay in a lighted cafe and not go home to that darkness in his room, because he knows that this Death Mother is going to be right there with him. And she finally got him.

I think the concept of fictional characters breaking the fourth wall to find out about their own ships is always funny, but I need you to imagine lawlight learning about lawlight for a second. Light's face goes completely blank save for a violent eye twitch while he internally cycles through all five stages of grief and at least 10 emotions not yet recognised by the field of psychology within a matter of seconds, after which he plasters on a very strained polite smile and asks what "law" stands for in the most fake saccharine voice you've ever heard. L tries to murder Light with his bare hands. Light decks L in the face while getting choked out and weasels away, politely excusing himself for a minute, then L drops dead immediately after. Love loses, roll credits

I know it's a Star Wars thing, but imagine Bruce Wayne being such an annoying/painful shatterpoint that him walking near anyone with psychic abilities makes them physically twitch. They get headaches if he's too close. He has so many timelines/possible futures threading through him and so do all his kids--

sorry can we just talk about how light's choice for another kira proxy (doubling as a manservant) was a pale, sallow faced man with black shaggy hair, who was young enough to be around his age.... like i'm probably reaching but it's both so sickening and pathetic that he selected mikami, who did what L never would: worship light and carry out his bidding

So far I don’t think I’ve seen anyone talking about this…. But Niko is implied to be Sedna come onto land for a mortal life or maybe some sort of physical incarnation of her.

Like at first I thought it was just a narrative parallel, you know, both the young girls with recently dead fathers but that igloo scene at the very end just smashed me over the head. She isn’t like her; she is her.

I went back to rewatch some scenes for reasons and guess who is inexplicably afraid of the stormy weather? Guess who avoids the father murdering his daughter case after learning he likely chopped them to pieces? Guess who observes Mick the walrus looking for sea glass after easily finding the red glass needed to find the washerwoman? Guess who spend the entire series wearing fingerless fucking gloves?

Even the story of Sedna- told through monochrome!? like a certain other monochromatic character- shows a dark haired girl become a white haired goddess. I just….

And her mom also might be the 002 boss woman we see give the boys an exception at the end?? She has such a reaction to her name, she can’t NOT know Niko. And at the end we see the dandelion sprites in the igloo no longer needing a jar to contain them. We see FULL gloves on the monochromatically dressed igloo occupant holding the good luck charm that Niko dies with? Like if she isn’t Sedna then she sure as shit won her favor somehow

I believe in immortal scully in the sense that scully doesn’t die. However I also believe in immortal mulder in the sense that every time he dies (and it happens fairly often), he just resurrects. RIP to everyone else but he’s different. presumably because he doesn’t know how to leave scully alone for any extended period of time

I'm not sure if it was an intentional makeup choice, or something about how his scenes are lit, or just the high emotions of the entire episode, or maybe the makeup around his eyes was irritating Taika's eyes irl, or any combination of these factors

But good lord every time I watch s2e1 I can't stop thinking about how sore and swollen and miserable Ed's eyes look. In every single scene. And obviously it works perfectly, wouldn't at all be surprised if it was intentional in makeup or from the amount of scenes this ep that Ed has tears in his eyes for, but I just want to scoop him up and give him a nice cool washcloth for his poor eyes and tell him it'll all be okay.

Like. Someone help him!!
