I think y'all are forgetting about Shawn's choice of seat in that diner when he first met Juliet. He chose a seat a cop would choose for a sting. He chose a place with good vantage.
#I remember one time my boss wanted to talk to me about how my new job was going but the staff table is in the very corner#& he offered me a seat... facing away from the entire restaurant. I couldn't handle it. I had to ask MY BOSS to switch places with me#because I needed to face out & see the restaurant. I couldn't have my back like that.#embarrassing#shawn spencer#psychfacts#dom og#psych 1x02#juliet o'hara

Have you ever noticed that the loudest people in the room are often the most insecure? 😳 The truth is, arrogance is rarely about confidence—it’s about hiding fear. 🧠
🔎 Here’s how to tell if arrogance = insecurity: ✔️ They get defensive over small things ✔️ They criticize others often ✔️ They feel superior but fear rejection
✨ The best way to deal with them? Show them kindness—sometimes, they just want to be understood. 💙

Shawn canonically visits santa barbara a few times in his ten years away, he has gotten a few jobs there, usually only lasting a few days I think, & he stole a jacket from Gus. He had not settled again, but he did return every now & then.
Now I want a fanfic of what happened in those few times he went back.

The Unspoken Truth About Avoiding Eye Contact...
Not making eye contact doesn’t always mean someone is lying. It’s deeper than that. Here’s what psychology says:
🔸 They might be shy or socially anxious. 🔸 They could be hiding emotions they’re afraid to show. 🔸 They might feel intimidated or overwhelmed by your presence.
Did you know? In some cultures, prolonged eye contact is seen as rude or even aggressive. So before assuming, consider cultural and social factors too.
👀 Next time you notice someone avoiding eye contact, remember—it’s not always about deception, but about emotions they aren’t ready to express.

As a person who self diagnosed as a teen and who is now working towards a diploma in psychology:
self diagnose but be really picky about your research material! Research well! Read up a lot from reliable sources before you self diagnose. Document your issues in detail before interpreting them based on what you read. Because a misrepresentation of any disorder can make the difference between learning self regulate strategies on your own, finding community and starting to give yourself the respect others deny you or thinking you are doomed and imagining additional symptoms you think you should have (this is a proven phenomenon). It can be extremely helpful but also very harmful.
I misdiagnosed myself with borderline disorder and internalised a ton of stigma before realising it's actually CPTSD. But now I understand how and why borderline and other disorders are so regularly confused with each other by actual psychologists. I un-diagnosed myself with depression because people told me I can't diagnose myself, but I was absolutely right and could have found help earlier if I had kept researching it back then instead of believing I'm just a lazy piece of trash for several years.
Just please don't read only Psych 2 go and PsychFacts or only Wikipedia.
lmao if i’m going to lose followers for saying i’m pro self diagnosis i might as well be extremely loud and clear about it. by all means if you’re mad at me try to explain to me how it ISN’T ableist/classist/racist to demand that everyone who’s suffering jump through all the fucking hoops of the medical system, especially in a country with extremely hostile infrastructure like the united states, before they’re allowed to try to put any words to their experiences whatsoever. what are people supposed to do. “i’m too poor to get diagnosed so i guess for right now i just have Problems Disorder and i can’t talk about anything i’m experiencing in more specific terms than that just in case i’m wrong or faking”
