“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” —Psalm 100:3 (KJV)
“Seek God for Yourself” By Billy Graham:
“Whenever anyone asks me how I can be so certain about who and what God really is, I am reminded of the story of the little boy who was out flying a kite. It was a fine day to go kite-flying, the wind was brisk, and large billowy clouds were blowing across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was entirely hidden by the clouds. “What are you doing?” a man asked the little boy. “I’m flying a kite,” he replied. “Flying a kite, are you?” the man said, “How can you be sure? You can’t see your kite.” “No,” said the little boy, “I can’t see it, but every little while I feel a tug, so I know for sure that it’s there!” Don’t take anyone else’s word for God. Find Him for yourself, and then you too will know by the wonderful, warm tug on your heartstring, that He is there, for sure.
Prayer for the day: Thank You for loving me, God. This knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I praise and love You, my heavenly Father.”

"DON'T WAIT UNTIL THANKSGIVING TO THANK HIM!"
Read: 1 Chronicles 16:7-36 “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever” (1 Chronicles 16:34 AMP) We often think of Gratitude in terms of Gain: Someone gives you a ride to work. A neighbor cooks a meal when you’ve had surgery. Your boss notices your hard work and gives you a raise. The kids clean up the house or your husband cooks dinner. For…

Worship Your Way to Victory
By Adrian Rogers “Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”  Psalm 100:1-3 In 2 Chronicles 20:18, as Jehoshaphat prepared for battle, the Bible says, “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face…

Why become anxious? Does not understanding comes with time? We cannot speed up time can we? Do not a anxious child say, "I cannot wait until I become an adult?" Even though they are years away from one the adults often hear themselves saying, "act your age." Yet even a 100 year old is an infant in God eyes. As a thousand years is as one day.

The Lord is my Rock
A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High,
2 to show forth Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness every night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For Thou, LORD, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will triumph in the works of Thy hands.
5 O LORD, how great are Thy works! And Thy thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand this:
7 when the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish, it is that they shall be destroyed for ever;
8 but Thou, LORD, art Most High for evermore.
9 For lo, Thine enemies, O LORD, for lo, Thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
10 But my horn shalt Thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
11 Mine eye also shall see what I desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear what I desire upon the wicked that rise up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing to show
15 that the LORD is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. — Psalm 92 | Third Millennium Bible (TMB) Third Millennium Bible, New Authorized Version, Copyright 1998 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc. a more practical, 100% Protestant-approved Advent
A P.S. to the previous ask, in case you or anyone else want a bullet pointed list and not a meditation--here are some things I didn't mention there:
Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals (website/book/Android app) has a three times a day prayer practice with practical and often social justice oriented meditations.
A classic: The Book of Common Prayer and the Forward Movement podcasts daily audio version.
I can't believe I didn't recommend the book I'm published in? Geez magazine has an Advent book every year--this year was Prayers for the End of the World, but previous issues are also available.
Unbound's Another Starry Black Night: A Womanist Advent Devotional
UCC 2023 Abolition Advent Calendar
I haven't checked it out in a while, but I know Our Bible App always has a ton of devotionals, some free, some premium.
Here's a Lutheran (ELCA) lectionary for this year--I'm sure other denominations have similar resources.
Under the read more, I'm going to include the recommended daily psalms and some prayers/liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship.
<3 Johanna
All from The Lutheran Book of Worship (1978). I will type these up into a document as soon as I can, but here are the scans I have right now. I apologize to those using screen readers.

The Simple Thing
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=======================
+ Galatians 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
=======================
VERSE OF THE DAY
======================
+ Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
=======================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
I AM NEEDING THE SIMPLE THING
I AM NEEDING JESUS
I AM STRONG
I AM PRAYING WITHOUT CEASING
======================
READ TIME: 7 Minutes & 10 Seconds
======================
THOUGHTS:
======================
  The simplest thing in the world is knowing Christ. I thought it was hard, and I thought anyone with a relationship with him was the most fantastic person because they could have this relationship I couldn't have. Still, as I grew in my walk with him, I realized the problem was that I was putting too much thought into it and not enough effort; a lot of us want a relationship with God, but we aren’t looking at what we are doing and how much time we put in it.
  Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful
  From the moment I gave my life to Christ, and he gave me peace, I always wanted everyone else to know: how great he is, who he is, and how he makes me feel. I told God if you gave me the opportunity, I want to teach the world about you, and he has given me that opportunity. We don’t understand how great God can be to us until we slowly see and feel what he does for us, and he does a lot.
  Peter said this to Jesus one day (Luke 5:8). When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
He knew he was a sinner, but he didn’t wanted Jesus to be next to him, but Jesus still wanted that relationship with him, and that is the thing about us: do we want a relationship with him? Do we understand what it takes to have one with him? It's not that much, but it’s the way we do it when we do it.
   Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
   The first step into having a relationship with Christ is prayer; it’s the most powerful thing we can do, and the most direct thing we can do is praying; it’s like having a conversation with God about your day; it’s telling him how grateful you are and how important he is to you, a lot of us don’t understand how prayer can change our lives when we do it ,a lot of us take prayer as a thing that we must do. Still, we must do it and stay spiritually hydrated, but we must do it because it connects us with him to know his will. We can't have a life without it.
 Psalm 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
   Another way to have this relationship with God is to worship. Many people don’t like to worship, but to enter his courts, we must enter with praise. When I come home in the evening, I immediately turn on worship music and praise and worship him until I am too tired. I pray to him for an hour because I sincerely want to connect with him on a deeper level, and I want to communicate with him because he's the only one who knows what I need and how to help me solve every issue. No not everyone can pray for an hour , but that’s how long I pray we all are different it’s about the heart what can you give him, where is the position of your heart , if you pray for 5 ,10,20 minutes it doesn’t matter all that matters is that you pray from a contrite heart.
 Joel 2:12 Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
    Fasting is the last point we will look at today. Fasting is the ultimate way to connect with God and allow yourself to submit to him. Fasting creates a connection between you and God that’s so powerful because you are submitting to him your ways; you are sacrificing food to have a relationship with God. Nowadays, people don’t want to give up food for anything, but giving up our meals to draw closer to God is the most important thing we can ever do.
  The lord one day showed me how important prayer and fasting are; he showed me a fire around anyone who fasted and prayed; when we do those things, it’s a ring of fire that creates a barrier of protection
from Satan .No spirit ,no witch , and no curse can attach itself to us while we are praying in our heavenly language and fasting UNLESS GOD WILLS IT . Fasting & Praying is a big deal because we are saying nothing is essential , but spending time with Him.
 *** Today, we learned that the simplest thing we can do is create a relationship with him, praise him, fast, and pray; all these things can cause us to draw closer to him. We might think that we are doing the smallest things. Still, no, my friends, we are moving mountains and creating such a strong bond with God when we do this because people constantly look at the time, how much time they have, or when the next second, but when we pray, we are saying I don’t care about the time I care about establishing a relationship with Jesus. I don’t care what’s happening; I care about establishing with Jesus.
  John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
 The Bible tells us he’s the way, truth, and life, everything we need to know. He can tell us, and we don’t have to worry about it being wrong because he knows how we should go and what we supposed to be doing? I can be concerned about my life; he’ll guide me through anything because he’s my shepherd, and I can trust him. Do you trust him? Do you want a relationship with him? If you pray, read your word, praise him, and fast, you’ll have a strong connection with him. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

PRAYER
=====================
Heavenly Father, we thank you for everything; we ask you to be with us and guide us through everything. Lord, forgive us if we have done anything that’s not of you. Father, help us establish a strong relationship with you daily. Lord, give us mercy and grace, lord. We love you so much and praise you for all you do. Lord, help us to be more like you; we give ourselves to you right now, Father, because we want more of you. Help us to apply this devotion to our lives in Jesus' name. Amen

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

I fully expected a rant as an answer to the last question lol
Tell me about the CJVerse please :)
HAHAJKJHJ fair
Hoo boy where to start!!!! Basically its a chatroom-style roleplay where alternate-universe versions of Heart, Mind, Soul, and Whole (the characters from the CCCC music album by Chonny Jash) are placed into a chatroom to interact. It’s been going since April and currently there’s about 16 of us roleplaying in it but over 100 characters. Probably 150+ characters, not counting the non-canon free-for-all chat where people put AUs of AUs haha.
I’ve got a hefty amount of characters in there, but not nearly as many as some of my other friends like @disruptivevoib or @agent-8449 (they’re insane /pos)
I think I have…? 12 guys between canon and FFA?
My favorite guy is Static, he’s my Mind from my Trial AU. Originally based off of canon, but has since diverged a LOT due to the nature of the chatroom. He’s actually very sweet? Gained some self-awareness and is actively attempting to better himself and help out Hearts. Most of the chatroom likes him but he does have some enemies. Most important enemy is Tune, who hates him due to trauma he inflicted in the past.
But lemme give an updated comprehensive list of all of the characters I RP as! Didn’t mean for this to turn into a masterpost but fuck it we ball
TRIAL AU:
Tempo <Whole> (canon)
Amp {Soul} (canon)
Static [Mind] (canon)
Tune (Heart) (canon)
ALIVE AND ALIGHT (A3) AU:
Tenor (Heart) (Canon)
Trill <(Heart + Whole (Sing) 2/3)> (FFA)
(AU with @squeak-4657 and Q-ott)
SELF AU:
Tachycardia [(Mind??? Mind-Heart mashup? Fucked up Static.)] (FFA)
(AU with Q-ott)
THE STANLEY PARABLE AU:
Robert [Mind] (Canon but haven’t used him in a while)
(AU with @disruptivevoib, @shadywoods, and Q-ott)
THE ASIDES:
The Sound of Deep Waters [Mind] (Canon but taking a break from him. Hard to RP as an eldritch horror lmao)
(AU with @agent-8449 and @nitroish)
Now for some misc 2/3! All FFA
SPRING AND A STORM:
Petrichor [[Mind x2, Static + Storm (Q-ott) 2/3]] (FFA)
STFR:
Chrysanthemum [(Mind + Heart, Static and Frizzy (Francey) 2/3)] @squeak-4657
PRAY:
Psalm (((Heart x3, Tune, Rain (Ouro), and Saint (Rapt) 3/3))) (FFA) @rosyfox2002 @shxwrunner
Plus three more 2/3 I’m cooking :3
Anyway!!! Yeah if you or someone else wants to ask about any specific AU or character I’m always happy to infodump :D

This morning was so much fun! Julien and I went biking with our grandparents on one of the bike trails in a nearby park. I haven't been biking in so long, and I really enjoyed it! I usually ride my bike to the park behind our house when I play to go on a nature walk or something, but it had been a while since I used the actual bike trail. I was surprised my grandparents were still up for biking and when my grandpa suggested it, I thought he was joking. He told me, "I'm not old yet." My grandparents are in their late 60s, but they are very active. I shouldn't have been surprised.
I still cannot believe that I will start school work again in two days! How does time go by so quickly? I will try to do a goal review tomorrow for my summer goals and then set new ones on Monday for the first half of my school year.
Tasks Completed:
KA GRF Algebra 2 - Completed 100% course mastery
Duolingo - Studied for approximately 30 minutes (Spanish + French + Chinese) + completed daily quests
Piano - 60-minute piano lesson + practiced for two hours in one hour split sessions
Reading - Read pages 189-226 of 6 Times We Almost Kissed (And One Time We Did) by Tess Sharpe

trusting the shepherd
Tumblr media
Our current series at The Community Fellowship is “Get to Know the Shepherd”, and Sunday I shared a message from Psalm 23.  David shared his experience as a shepherd and how it led him to know and follow God.
Psalm 23:1  KJV
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
That is a personal word from personal experience.  Literally David that that God supplies his need through the relationship he has with God, the supreme shepherd.  What an awesome truth we need to hold to as well.
1 Peter 2:25  NLT
Once you were like sheep who wandered away.  But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.
That is why Jesus came.  He is our shepherd and makes a huge difference because He seeks us, He died for us and He guides us all the time.
Psalm 69:33  NLT
For the Lord hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.
No matter our need, He knows and is ready to help.  Claim this truth.  He hears our prayers.  He knows our needs.  He is able to do even more.  But that is where we begin to really know and truth the true Shepherd.
Philippians 4:19  NLT
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
The supply is 100% from God.  Trusting God does so many things for us.  That is where I will leave us today as the week begins… trust God, turn to God, let God guide you… then let the outcome come from God!
Acts 3:19  NIV
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Psalm 36:8  NLT
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.
