“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” —Psalm 100:3 (KJV)
“Seek God for Yourself By Billy Graham:
“Whenever anyone asks me how I can be so certain about who and what God really is, I am reminded of the story of the little boy who was out flying a kite. It was a fine day to go kite-flying, the wind was brisk, and large billowy clouds were blowing across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was entirely hidden by the clouds. “What are you doing?” a man asked the little boy. “I’m flying a kite,” he replied. “Flying a kite, are you?” the man said, “How can you be sure? You can’t see your kite.” “No,” said the little boy, “I can’t see it, but every little while I feel a tug, so I know for sure that it’s there!” Don’t take anyone else’s word for God. Find Him for yourself, and then you too will know by the wonderful, warm tug on your heartstring, that He is there, for sure.
Prayer for the day: Thank You for loving me, God. This knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I praise and love You, my heavenly Father.”

"DON'T WAIT UNTIL THANKSGIVING TO THANK HIM!"
Read: 1 Chronicles 16:7-36 “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever” (1 Chronicles 16:34 AMP) We often think of Gratitude in terms of Gain: Someone gives you a ride to work. A neighbor cooks a meal when you’ve had surgery. Your boss notices your hard work and gives you a raise. The kids clean up the house or your husband cooks dinner. For…

Worship Your Way to Victory
By Adrian Rogers “Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalm 100:1-3 In 2 Chronicles 20:18, as Jehoshaphat prepared for battle, the Bible says, “And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face…

Why become anxious? Does not understanding comes with time? We cannot speed up time can we? Do not a anxious child say, "I cannot wait until I become an adult?" Even though they are years away from one the adults often hear themselves saying, "act your age." Yet even a 100 year old is an infant in God eyes. As a thousand years is as one day.

The Lord is my Rock
A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High,
2 to show forth Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness every night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For Thou, LORD, hast made me glad through Thy work; I will triumph in the works of Thy hands.
5 O LORD, how great are Thy works! And Thy thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand this:
7 when the wicked spring up as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish, it is that they shall be destroyed for ever;
8 but Thou, LORD, art Most High for evermore.
9 For lo, Thine enemies, O LORD, for lo, Thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
10 But my horn shalt Thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
11 Mine eye also shall see what I desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear what I desire upon the wicked that rise up against me.
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing to show
15 that the LORD is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. — Psalm 92 | Third Millennium Bible (TMB) Third Millennium Bible, New Authorized Version, Copyright 1998 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc. Do not allow other people's actions to determine your happiness
Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

a more practical, 100% Protestant-approved Advent
A P.S. to the previous ask, in case you or anyone else want a bullet pointed list and not a meditation--here are some things I didn't mention there:
Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals (website/book/Android app) has a three times a day prayer practice with practical and often social justice oriented meditations.
A classic: The Book of Common Prayer and the Forward Movement podcasts daily audio version.
I can't believe I didn't recommend the book I'm published in? Geez magazine has an Advent book every year--this year was Prayers for the End of the World, but previous issues are also available.
Unbound's Another Starry Black Night: A Womanist Advent Devotional
UCC 2023 Abolition Advent Calendar
I haven't checked it out in a while, but I know Our Bible App always has a ton of devotionals, some free, some premium.
Here's a Lutheran (ELCA) lectionary for this year--I'm sure other denominations have similar resources.
Under the read more, I'm going to include the recommended daily psalms and some prayers/liturgies from the Lutheran Book of Worship.
<3 Johanna
All from The Lutheran Book of Worship (1978). I will type these up into a document as soon as I can, but here are the scans I have right now. I apologize to those using screen readers.
Here are the Sunday prayers & readings for Advent/Christmas:
These are the Lutheran saint/feast days within Advent/Christmas:
The following prayers are meant to be said in small groups, but they work by yourself, too.
#ik it's halfway through advent but guess what.#first of all i'm tired and someone asked and this is when i get to it#second of all the Lord is gracious and receives the last even as the first.#he gives rest to him that comes at the eleventh hour#as well as to him that toiled from the first.#(Chrysostom Easter sermon goes hard for all seasons)

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

Stay Close To the Shepherd
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=======================
+ Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man
=======================
VERSE OF THE DAY
======================
+ Matthew 15:24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
======================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
I AM LISTENING TO MY SHEPHERD
I AM HOLY
I AM PRAISING GOD
I AM NOT BLINDED BUT I SEE
======================
READ TIME: 7 Minutes & 8 Seconds
======================
THOUGHTS:
======================
The lord was sent for the lost. Many of us started as lost sheep in the world, and we didn’t know we needed him. Some of us didn’t know or realize we needed him, and he was sent here to save us from our mistakes.
he said several times about being a shepherd in the Word; for instance, he said in
•John 10:7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
•John 10:16 16 I have other sheep not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They, too, will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
•John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
•John 10:15 Just as the father knows me and I know the Father, I lay down my life for the sheep.
•John 10:14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me,
We are his sheep. When we truly follow him, he becomes our shepherd. In these verse, Jesus said if he had 99 sheep, he would still go find the one , no matter how lost you are, always remember that Jesus is your shepherd; he came back for the lost sheep, that your special to him a lot of people don’t like to talk about the love of Jesus but he loved us so much that he gave his life to us so that we may be saved so that we may have a chance to heaven .
When a shepherd over see a pasture he doesn’t look over a couple of them he doesn’t just watch them he protects them from the enemy and a lot of allow the enemy into our environment by not staying close to our shepherd a lot of us are not reading our word feeding our selves the things of the spirit, but in order to stay protected we must stay near our shepherd and follow him where ever he go. Reading the word of God praying mediating , praise theses things are mandatory to stay prepared for what the enemy tries to do in our season .
Luke 15:5-7 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep. ‘I tell you that in the same way, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
A lot of us shun people who are not of the fold, and we think that because we are saved, God can't save some people because of their sins, and that’s not true. Jesus came back to save the lost, and we need more people talking about salvation than money. We need more people talking about deliverance than the money. We need more people talking about their relationship with God than gifts; sure, gifts are good to talk about, and sure, we need more money, but we are losing what is our true calling and it’s to save the lost sheep. The word says the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.
Psalm 100:3-4 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
The Lord Is reasonable, and we are his sheep and pasture; we must enter the gates with thanksgiving. We must always praise the lord. Some of us are saved and won’t praise him for being who he is to us and how he sent his son to be our savior. Some of us won’t praise him for what he did for us, and some of us won’t praise him for what He is trying to do for us, but we are his sheep, and this is what He is asking us to do, to worship him in spirit and truth. Our praise is our deliverance and will help our breakthrough; some of us are wondering why we haven’t been delivered. Have you praised him? Some of you are wondering why we are feeling anxious along with the spirit of doubt, and the spirit of anxiety is because we won’t release our praise!
Isaiah 25:1 Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago
For God has done wonderful things for us, a lot of us forgot what the lord has done for us; some of us wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the lord; we must praise him even for that; we were created to praise Him. Because he’s our shepherd, we must follow and obey him; a lot of us get lost in what’s happening to us then, by praying through it, the Holy Spirit is saying in this season that you're in, he wants us to pray and praise. Many of us forget how to do both when we are going through, but don’t allow the enemy to make you forget what your weapon is.
***Today, we learned that Jesus is our shepherd and that we must praise him for leading us and guiding us. Many of us have not praised him because we have never tried, but when we praise Him, we are thanking him for the hard times and the good times.
Psalm 9:1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
We must learn how to give thanks for everything, not just for the good; we must do it for the bad too , because the bad times will teach us how to appreciate the good days to come; some of us don’t render praise because we are so blinded by what’s happening that we don’t see how the enemy is making us think we have nothing to praise him for when we do, We must learn a lot about praise, but we must be ready to learn and praise God for it all. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee
======================
PRAYER
=====================
Heavenly Father, we thank you for everything, both good and bad. Lord, we praise and thank you for your actions in our lives. Lord, lead and guide us through our tough times; lord, we praise you for what you're doing and what you're going to do! Lord, forgive us of the sins we have done; lord, we ask you that you help us apply this word to our lives; in Jesus Name, Amen

trusting the shepherd
Our current series at The Community Fellowship is “Get to Know the Shepherd”, and Sunday I shared a message from Psalm 23. David shared his experience as a shepherd and how it led him to know and follow God.
Psalm 23:1 KJV
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
That is a personal word from personal experience. Literally David that that God supplies his need through the relationship he has with God, the supreme shepherd. What an awesome truth we need to hold to as well.
1 Peter 2:25 NLT
Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.
That is why Jesus came. He is our shepherd and makes a huge difference because He seeks us, He died for us and He guides us all the time.
Psalm 69:33 NLT
For the Lord hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.
No matter our need, He knows and is ready to help. Claim this truth. He hears our prayers. He knows our needs. He is able to do even more. But that is where we begin to really know and truth the true Shepherd.
Philippians 4:19 NLT
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
The supply is 100% from God. Trusting God does so many things for us. That is where I will leave us today as the week begins… trust God, turn to God, let God guide you… then let the outcome come from God!
Acts 3:19 NIV
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Psalm 36:8 NLT
You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights.
